La herencia #62 Wednesday 9/28/22 Saying Something Doesn't Make it So.

This recapper says: I still want to be the girl on the dancing horse!

Anyway, here is the rest of the story . . .

1. Juli is literally crying on  Juan's shoulder who blames it all on Mateo who is continuing to bother her. Juan will talk to him but seems surprised because Mateo has shown that he has changed. Juli becomes indignant and says that he has to believe her because she is his wife. Juan knows that but Mateo is his brother, too. Juli thinks that Mateo wants to make their lives difficult. She starts begging him for a honeymoon so they can have some time to themselves and away from his family. Juan says "no can do" because the company is going through some very difficult times so, more than ever,  now is not the time that he should be leaving. She thinks it would be a great chance to let Pedro run the company. Juan says he can't do it. She argues that he will never know unless he gives Pedro a chance. Juan wonders about her defending Pedro. She insists that everything she does is for the sake of their child. Juan makes it clear that the only way that Pedro will get to be the president is if he is ousted by the board for having done a bad job. Juli doesn't miss a beat and  begins to complain about how nervous and upset she is about everything that has happened and how she found Deb. Juan looks like he has had it and turns to leave. Juli asks him not to go and whines for him to come back and to sleep in his bedroom.  She want them to be closer so that their baby can feel him there. . . please.

2. Jessica is screaming at Brayan accusing him of going crazy and going off with  someone else.  He loudly tells her to stop making those stupid comments already.  Rosa jumps to her defense saying she will not have him talk that way to her daughter. She has done so much for him by educating him and he is being an ingrate. . . Prospi jumps in and tells his wife not to get involved Jessica's business. He says Brayan must have his reasons. Jessica asks if he is on Brayan's side now. No, he is on the side of reason. Prospi reminds her that he advised her to go with her husband and live somewhere else but she refused to understand.  Jessica is sure he is cheating on her. Rosa agrees. Prospi says he is supporting Jessica and he tells her to get her things and leave his house with her husband. Jessica says she will never go to live at the Cruz's house again.  Brayan approaches her and calmly tells her that they are over.  (YAY!) Brayan picks up his bag, thanks Prospi and leaves. Jessica sits there with her mother blubbering that this  cannot be happening! Rosa says she is not the first woman to be abandoned and that they will take care of her. Prospi disagrees.  Jessica will be getting a part time job because from now on she will be be contributing to the expenses.  Rosa is clearly shocked but says nothing.

4. Adela comes by Sara's room to check on her. Sara is grateful for her attention and asks why she has been so good to her.  Adela explains how good Sara has been with he and how Severiano  and Catalina were always  good to  her, too.   She and Catalina really got along well but Rosa broke up their friendship. Sara asks why? Adela says there were so many things. Sara wants to hear all about them.  Adela would rather talk about how Catalina always took her sons to the refuge and how beautiful it was.

5. It is breakfast, and Adela tells Brayan that she understands how bad things have been with Jessica but she doesn't know if it was a good idea to leave her alone. Brayan says he gave her the choice to come with  him. As Brandon starts going off on Juli and Rosa and arguing with his mother,  Agustín  brings over Mati's back pack and takes out what looks like  a package shaped like a brick but is really a brick of weed. He asks Brayan what is he doing with this??  Brayan is shocked into silence.

6.  As Pedro is leaving for work, Juli has news for him. Sara is pregnant. He takes her into the home office to talk.

7. Simón wakes up, sees his phone and smiles. He leaves Paloma asleep and rushes out. In the process he knocks her purse off the floor and her birth control pills fall out. He picks them up and wakes her up. He was to know how long she has been taking the pill. Doesn't she want to have a baby with him? He wants an answer. She can only stare at him.

8. Juli wants to know why Pedro didn't tell her that Sara was pregnant. He explains that he found out because he saw the pregnancy test. Sara is unaware that  he knows. He says they have to think of something to do because if Juan finds out, he will divorce Juli and have a family with Sara. Juli says that cannot happen. She will not have Sara and her offspring ruining things for her. Pedro says they need to think of doing something quick because Sara's belly isn't going to remain hidden for long. Pedro concludes that  they have to get rid of the baby.  Juli thinks  that getting rid of Sara and the baby is the solution. Pedro says Sara is not to be touched. Only the baby is to go. He makes it clear that it is either his way or he will not help her.

9. Juan meets Aurora in a barn and gives his mother the rights  to his part of the refuge that his mother left to him with the understanding that she is not welcome at his home or the hacienda.  He makes it clear that this is all about  Pedro's peace of mind. She is damaging him.   She scoffs at the fact that he would be doing this for Pedro of all people. From what she knows,  Pedro hasn't been a very good brother. He tells her that she has no right to give her opinion on Pedro being a good brother or not. Aurora says she always was Pedro's protector from the time he was a little boy. Juan says he always will be. She can do whatever she wants with her part of the refuge but she is to stay out of their lives. Aurora tries to stifle a smirk.

10. Sara is at Deb's bedside asking when her mother will wake up. The doctor says they have done all they can but Deb's brain response  has not been good. It was the mixture of a very strong poison with the alcohol that put her in the coma. The doctor refuses to say there is no hope because some patients can be like this for years. The only other alternative is for Sara to remove her mother's medical support and wait for the worst to happen. The doctor leaves and Sara begs  her mother to wake up,  meet her grandchild and not to die.

11. Brayan asks him where he got so much weed (pasto) from? Brandon tries to explain that he was only taking care of the backpack for Mati and about the bicycle money. Adela tells him he is going to return the backpack right now. Brandon gets out his phone and tells Mati he wants to see her now. (He should ditch the bag and let her live with the consequences)

12. Simón is going off the deep end asking Paloma how long has she been making fun of him and betraying him. She says she hasn't been betraying him and she has her own right to handle her reproductive options any way she wants to. He says they talked about having a child. They want the same thing. Paloma explains that  he was the one who decided he wanted a child. He didn't even take her opinion into account. He says at least he told her what he wanted. He asks when was she planning on telling him her husband that she was on the pill. She says she didn't know because she was afraid.  He doesn't get how she could have been afraid of him. She admits that  she is  afraid of how he gets (like now) his actions, and the way he talks to her. She explains that she wants to develop her career before becoming a mother. He needs to understand that. He asks since when has he prevented her. She explains that has been the case ever since he decided he didn't  want her practicing law, singing in public, all of his actions and his machismo. Simón explains that a machista would not have ALLOWED  (really?) her to go sing at the cantina or to help the Millán family.  She says the only way he PERMITTED (really?) her to do those things were because they argued about them. She then cancelled her idea of forming a law firm because he was never going to approve. He says she doesn't need to do all that. She asks him who is he to decide if she needs it or not. He knew how it was her dream to be a lawyer. Simón says all of this isn't even related to what the were talking about. She tells him YES it does have everything to do with it because it all has to do with him wanting to control her life.

13. Sara takes Deb's hand and holds it against her belly asking if she can feel the life inside of her. Dante comes in telling her that it does her mother so much good to hear her voice. He explains that even though he wasn't really family the doctor allowed him to stay. He is there to give Sara a break. He will always be there for her and her mother. Sara thanks him. He explains that the lab results for the wine are not back yet. They have no idea who sent it. The hacienda worker who accepted the package  was  questioned but there was nothing he could tell them. Dante makes a point of telling Sara that somebody wanted to kill her mother.  Sara wonders who?? Dante says there won't be more information until  her mother wakes up but for now it is best to leave the investigation in the hands of the police. Sara decides to leave. She needs to talk to him about something else later at the office. They hug before she leaves. Dante is left all alone looking at Deb.

14. Aurora is taking a trip down memory lane with Juan as she leaves the hacienda. She remembers walking around the hacienda  holding her two sons in her arms.  Juan does not care to hear about it. She has been paid so she can go away forever. Aurora asks if he loves his brother so much that he would give his life for him. Juan reminds her that he is capable of that and much more for his brother.

15. Pedro has spotted them and is approaching them. He grabs Aurora by the throat and starts to choke her. Juan manages to peel him off of Aurora as she screams that Pedro is the same as her. He screams that he isn't and damns her. Aurora says a child who damns his mother will end up damned himself.

16. Lucas finds Mateo on the floor of his room and asks him what happened.  Lucas says he never should've been born.  Lucas tells him he needs to honor the memory of his parents and never say anything like that. Lucas goes on to say that  Pedro said that he was the only spoiled brat among them and he is right.   Lucas disagrees saying Pedro always spouting off things without thinking. He has serious problems. He then says that their father found him in a river where he was dying form the cold. Lucas finds that odd because he had always heard that Mateo had been found at the cantina. Lucas notices that Mateo is burning up from a fever and calls for Modesto. He helps a very weak and delirious Mateo into bed. Mateo only wants to talk about horses and playing soccer.

 17. Juli  comes in to see what is wrong. Lucas tells her she must be happy as he points at Mateo. He tells her to leave.

18. Modesto comes in and  feels Lucas' forehead and leaves.

19. Pedro asks Juan what was in the envelope that Aurora had. Juan is not discussing it. He does not want another argument. Pedro keeps pushing. Did he give her money? Juan says it isn't the right time to talk about it. Pedro asks what she was doing a the hacienda. Juan makes it clear that he will not allow her to ruin their lives again. Pedro asks why Juan didn't tell him that she was coming. Juan asks what good would have that done? So that he could have assaulted her like he just did. Pedro asks what did Juan expect? Juan tells Pedro if doesn't matter how far away she goes, if Pedro cannot get her out of his head, she is going to torment him for the rest of  his life. Juan leaves.

20. Pedro takes out his phone and calls Dante. He wants to know what Juan gave to Aurora. Dante doesn't know anything about  Juan wanting to give her something.

21. Simón leave the house in a huff.  Modesto tries to tell him about Mateo but he isn't listening to anyone.  Juli watches all the action from her perch at the top of the stairs. Julieta Baby arrives. Juli demands to know why she is there. Modesto explains that she is there so she can help with Mateo. Juli stops her on the stairs by physically blocking her and tells her she is not going anywhere.

22. Cornelio goes to see Bea. She asks what he is doing there. He wants her to cancel the  protection order. Tadeo is happy to see him. Bea explains that she has a protection order because she does not want any more problems. She wants to live in peace with him. He asks if she  will ever forgive him for what he did to her. Cornelio says he knows he made a mistake (a mistake??? is that what he calls assault?? a mistake???) and he accepts responsibility for it. He want to  talk to her alone. She says no.  (YAY!)

23. Julieta Baby  demands that Juli let her go up NOW.  Juli thinks  that Mateo doesn't need her. Finally, Lucas appears and tells Juli to let her up. Juli moves aside and Julieta  Baby goes up tp Mateo's room with Lucas.

24. Sara runs into Simón leaving the hacienda as she is arriving and blames him for what happened to her mother. He insists that he did nothing to her mother even though they both know he had plenty of motives to  (he is too stupid to shut up while he is ahead). She asks if he was like that with Catalina.  Simón says she needs to get her story straight. Her mother gave birth to her out of  infidelity. His mother saved him from death and allowed him to be born again. Sara reminds him that Deb is her mother and she will leave no stone unturned until she finds out who did this to her. She says she has a long list: Cornelio, Prospi, or him? She doesn't care. He can leave his stupid cynicism aside because she swears that whoever was responsible is going to fall, whoever that might be.

25. Cornelio finally agrees (Bea, call the cops). He won't insist. (Uh, who is he to insist? He is powerless in the situation) He only wants to protect Tadeo. Tadeo overhears the conversation and asks if he is talking about protecting him from the bad lady. Cornelio hugs him saying that bad day will never hurt him again.

26. At the cantina, Adela and family are still  discussing what to do with the backpack waiting for Mati to arrive. Mati walks in as planned but with the police. She points out Brandon. The police commander says that Brandon is under arrest for selling drugs at  the  local high school. (We all saw this coming. PSA for how easy it is to be framed by your so-called friends.)

27. Simón doesn't care if Sara sues him. He told her himself what happened to her mother on  the street so there wouldn't be a misunderstanding but it looks like it wasn't worth his breath to be honest with her. She warns him if it turns out to be him who is at fault, she will see him in jail even though he is her brother. He reminds her that there are serious problems at the company, and he needs to get to work. He leaves.

28. Paloma comes out in tears running after Simón but he is gone. Sara holds her as she cries and asks her what is wrong.

29. Mati accuses Brandon of selling drugs at school and says that the backpack is his. Adela and family attest to Brandon's innocence. (Did anyone think of looking in the backpack to see if there is any evidence who it might belong to?) The police take Brandon away.

30. Dante arrives at Juan's office explaining he had gone to see Deb. He adds that Sara said she would see them  at the office. Dante explains that Deb was still in a coma without any change. Dante knows that Juan had a very painful childhood. He asks what he  did  not to end up full of hatred and resentment?  Juan explains that love filled up that empty hole when he needed it the  most. The best antidote to hatred is love. Back then he felt more hatred and spite that his brother Pedro. There were days when the darkest of thoughts controlled his mind but his father Severiano, his mother Catalina, and a man who loved him as hisown, Modesto were there. Dante concludes that they gave him a life he never could have imagined having. Juan shocks Dante by saying just for that reason he gave Aurora his part of the refuge. Dante reminds him that his part is worth millions of pesos. Juan assures Dante that he knows what he is doing.

31. Paloma never thought she would be crying on Sara's shoulder about Simón. Sara says that is what friends are for. Sara knows that he has a difficult personality. Paloma insists he is a good man. Paloma says he is full of such resentment that it is difficult to forgive and forget with him. Sara brings up the car incident. Paloma says he never meant to hit her. It was an accident. Sara tells her how violent of man he is but Paloma stands up for him telling Sara she doesn't know what she is talking about.  Paloma thinks he is having problems with medications. She has seen him on the internet researching anti-depressives. Paloma thinks he was distracted and that caused the accident.  Sara asks about anti-depressives?? Paloma explains that they argued so intensely that Simón forgot what time it was. He left the computer open to  a page about anti-depressives. Paloma doesn't know what is happening to him. He said he had seen a medical article that had led him to do some research  but she doesn't understand those things. Juli appears wanting to be a pest. Sara tells her it is none of her business. Juli asks Sara if it has ever crossed her mind that Simón might have poisoned her mother with his anti-depressives???

32. Pedro sees Aurora on the street and calls after her.  She keeps walking and says she knew he would come looking for her. Pedro says he is only there to ask her what Juan gave her to get her out of their  lives. She stops, turns and smiles. Juan gave her a "campo verde" (green field). She says that her "good son"gave her his share of the refuge. Pedro says that cannot be!!  She says that is what Juan  was willing to give up so she would no longer torment him.  Pedro asks what she is going to do with the land and suggests that she sign it over to him and they become partners.

33. Dante knows that it is possible to do all kinds of things where family is concerned. Juan says just like with his son. Dante asks "son?" but then quickly corrects his reaction and says he is still in the hospital. Pedro offers him any help he  might need. Bea comes in to tell Dante there is a young man down at the reception desk that says he is his son. Both Dante and Juan look surprised. Bea asks if she should let him in. (okay . . . )

34. Paloma is insisting that Simón had nothing to do with Deb's accident. Juli says HE had every reason do it,  nobody else.  Sara tells Juli she hopes that nobody wants to see her mother dead. Juli insists that her mother is not like Sara's. Nobody wants to kill her. Sara tells her to stop with her venom. Paloma tells her to pay her no mind. She is a viper. Juli says if they do not want her to hear what they are talking about, they should go somewhere and shut the door. (Probably the only good point Juli has ever made) She is in her home. Sara refuses to take the bait but wants her to know that forcing herself on one man while making another one suffer is going to cost her dearly and wanting the death of another person is the sign of a completely rotten person.  Paloma's phone rings.  (Paloma has the same ringtone on her phone as I have. For a second, I thought it was mine. Drive me crazy, Televisa, why don't you? )Sara goes upstairs and Paloma follows.

35. Dante makes a story up about how Luis is the one who came by while Marcos his youngest son is the one in the hospital. Dante says it is nothing serious just a stomach infection. Juan says from what he remembered his children were studying abroad. Dante says yes they were but now are back to finish their university studies here is Mexico.   Juan smiles and apologizes for asking so many questions. He is just analytical.  Dante says there is no problem and says he is going with his son to see Marcos.

36. Aurora is on the go again with Pedro asking her to stop so he doesn't have to pursue her all over town. She reminds him that he is the  one who is following her. If he wants to see her part of the refuge, he is going to have  to treat her well. He agrees saying that she was right in everything that she told him. He admits that in fact he really just like her. Her nose and the shape of her face are just like his. Aurora admits that she loved him more than Juan from the time he was in  her womb. She says Juan is like his father, while he on the other hand, he is like a lion who bites but will not swallow until he has gotten the very last piece. Pedro asks how she knows so much about them. She says when Severiano named Juan as the president of the company it was in all of the news.  When Dante came looking for her, she knew she could get back into her sons' lives. She informs him that she and Dante are partners not friends. She says Dante was the one who suggested that she take Juan for a lot of money. She supposes that he is colluding with his lover. Pedro asks who might that be. Aurora tells him it is Deb.

36. Brandon is at the police station with Mati and the families and  he vehemently insists that the backpack does not belong to him. The families argue. The commander informs them all that this is a very serious situation. Whoever is the owner of what is inside the bag will end up in jail.  He will take their statements separately. Sal objects because Brandon is a minor so he has have an adult present when he gives his statement. Sal knows that because he is daughter is the best lawyer in town. Mati is starting to look less sure about what is going to happen.

37. Paloma tells Sara that she just got a call from her dad that Brandon has been arrested for selling drugs at school. Sara cannot believe it because he is a very decent boy just like his whole family. She is going back to the hospital, One last time,  Paloma tries to convince Sara  that in spite of what that witch  Juli said Simón is not responsible for what happened to her mother. Sara lets her know that she cannot be so sure since Simón hates her mother as much as he can and he has mentioned it.  Paloma still tries to defend him.

38. Juan looks at a photo of Catalina and tells his mom how much he misses her. He misses  when they were all together.  He remembers  Modesto,  his brothers and him out looking at a new horse that Simón bought.  Catalina comes out and give him a hug. Simón tells her that he bought the  horse for her. They all start joking with each other about who she loves best.  She tells them not to fight over her. They end up with a group hug. Juan wonders why things changed so much.

39. Aurora notices that Juan didn't seem to know that Deb was Dante's lawyer. He says that doesn't matter. All he is interested in is the refuge. Aurora wants to know what he is going to give her in exchange. He says shares in his company. She is going to be his partner. (He also has a bridge in Brooklyn . . . ) He adds that she cannot do anything with the refuge anyway because it cannot be sold. Didn't his dear brother Juan explain that to her.  She admits Juan didn't tell her that; only that he wanted her far away. Pedro laughs. Pedro explains that his brother is very smart. He is only waiting until she turns up at the refuge  and he will make her disappear like he has done with others. (Uh, oh. Is this some kind of foreshadowing and a confession all rolled up in  one???) He turned over his share to her knowing that she couldn't do anything with it.  He says she might know how to do business but it is not the  same thing managing prostitutes and whores as it is being a boss and an owner of the property. She tells him to help her then. He agrees as long as she hands over the part that Juan gave to her. He tries to snatch the envelope out of her hand but she pulls it away. She wants what he is promising her in the deal as long as it is equal to what she is giving  him (even-steven).   He tells her that she can count on that.

40. Modesto is listening at Mateo's door to see what is going on. Lucas is with him. Modesto thinks that he  might do a better job with Mateo . Lucas reminds him that Julieta Baby is a professional. That does not  convince Modesto. Modesto thinks they should have called Juan. Lucas disagrees and says Juan has enough to deal with.

41. Julieta Baby tells Mateo he is over his fever.  He thanks her for being there with him . She has come to believe that he might be right  about Juli's baby. She advises him to be cautious so he doesn't cause a scandal that could affect his brother. She offers to help him find out if the baby is his by getting close to Juli, by not arguing with her,  by trying to be her friend. If Juli still loves him, she will do her best to get them back together.

42. Paloma shows up at the police station and takes control of the  case against Brandon. The commander says due to the fact that there were some contradictions in  Brandon's statement, he is being sent to the juvenile facility for possession of substances against  public health.  Mati's mother smiles smugly.  Paloma announces that she believes Brandon and will be defending him. Mati is not looking pleased. (I wonder if her mamá was still smirking)

43. Juan is on his phone waling to his office and literally runs into Sara. He thought she was at the hospital. She is going there now. He tells her that he hopes that her mother recovers  and to let him know if she needs anything.  Sara confides in him hat she is so afraid of losing her mother. She cannot imagine her life without her at her side. She has been with her through the worst and best.  It is so painful seeing her asleep and not being able to awaken her. Juan holds her face and tells her she is a good daughter and her mother knows that she loves her. She cannot give up hope. It will all get better. She hugs Juan and we can be sure that the employees get another eyeful of PDA.  (Somebody needs to tell them to get a room)

So how long are they going to leave Deb in a coma? I missed her this episode.

I wonder how they are planning to kill Sara’s baby and not her. You can’t have another fall on the stairs or another poisoning . . Or could you? Car accident?

Jarifa, a sensational rendition of a somber and sobering episode.

Thank you for lightening things up a bit with “Paloma's phone rings. (Paloma has the same ringtone on her phone as I have. For a second, I thought it was mine. Drive me crazy, Televisa, why don't you?” which had me smiling away. I also learned a new word: “weed (pasto).”

You are always wisely analytical and intuitive: “Pedro explains that his brother is very smart. He is only waiting until she turns up at the refuge and he will make her disappear like he has done with others. (Uh, oh. Is this some kind of foreshadowing and a confession all rolled up in one???)” It does seem prophetic, and your insight was spot on as always.

Loved the flashback of Catalina and the individual and group hugs with her boys. I also liked Sara asking Adela to sit with her on the bed. I wonder why Rosa broke up Catalina and Adela’s friendship. Then again, why waste any brain power trying to figure out why Rosa does anything to begin with. She is ridiculous and nonsensical.

Simon’s comment to Deb that “Her mother gave birth to her out of infidelity. His mother saved him from death and allowed him to be born again” must surely have cut like a knife.

Paloma clearly loves Pedro, but she is also clearly afraid of him. She has good reason; he is very troubled and needs counseling ASAP. Come to think of it, I think almost everyone in this novela could use a session or ten.

Mateo is burning up but after seeing his fevered state, both Lucas and Modesto leave without calling a doctor? Guess Julieta baby was the cure he needed.

Dante’s lies (and family) are beginning to catch up with him.

Pedro was Aurora’s favorite? I suspect the physical and mental abuse she rained down on him was not the best way to show her “affection”. Pedro and Aurora will share an eternity in hell. Together.

I’m very afraid of whatever plan Juli and Pedro are concocting to hurt Sara’s baby.

Jarifa, this was fantastic. Thank you!

Diana

P.S.I sort of miss Deb too!

I'm probably the only one weird enough to notice that Adela has at least 6 Teflon frying pans!!! How many does one need??

It's really hard to reconcile this Julian Gil with the Julian Gil of 'Sortilegio'. Yes he needs more hair to hide all the plastic surgery he has had done to his cheekbones.

Thank you Jarifa for this fantastic read with my morning coffee!!

Jessica is on my last nerve. How utterly clueless and self absorbed can you possibly be? You find your husband clearly traumatized and your only conclusion is he is cheating? Bryan needs a divorce, this chick is beyond childish and immature.

If I was a professional psychiatrist or psychologist and my name was Julieta Baby, I would change my name! Just saying.

Diana, IIRC Rosa broke up Catalina’s friendship with Adela by lying about Adela having an affair with Sev, but I might be remembering that wrong.

I am getting more and more convinced that Juli is the poisoner. The way she is trying to guide Sara to blame Simon adds suspicion. My first thought and biggest suspicion was that it was Pedro but I am changing my mind, Pedro is too sadistic for that, if he had done it he would have done something more brutal and torturous. I say it was Juli. And now we have her talking about plotting Sara’s death!

Diana, ‘Mateo is burning up but after seeing his fevered state, both Lucas and Modesto leave without calling a doctor?’ Right??? So emotional distress causes fevers now?? Call a Doc! No, call a shrink!!! This show is going off the rails and leaving them far behind, and I like it!!!

Jarifa, you are a hero for guiding us through this episode as the drama and crazy escalates .

Juli is just nuts and the epitome of someone who just won't take no for an answer . She is an unbelievable nutty nag. People like Juli just keep nagging hoping to wear the other person down. How do you solve a problem like Juli .

Juan IS a Saint as Pedro likes to say because he just stands still with all these obnoxious people swirling around him harping and complaining . yikes . I can't believe his calm and patience . Juan is supposed to solve everyone's problems. Some people carry everyone else's problems.

I don't see how either Pedro or Juli can survive because they are both getting increasingly delusional as their demands are not met.

Gracias, Jarifa.

It looks like Paloma will have a new client in an episode or two. It's obvious that Jessica is not mature enough for marriage, so Brayan needs to get free of her. At least she isn't pregnant.

Julieta whines more than previously, along with more darkening of the dark side only Pedro has seen so far. She will try to kill Sara, particularly after knowing that Sara is pregnant. How to end the pregnancy without killing her? This sounds like a possible riding accident, like the one in the 1993 Corazon Salvaje in which a ranch hand put a burr under the saddle of the horse mounted by the heavily pregnant Aimee. She was thrown which killed the baby and broke her back. She died a day or two later after extracting an awful deathbed promise from her sister.

If Lucas hadn't come down the stairs when he did I suspect Julieta would have pushed Julieta2 to make her fall down the stairs.

Aurora is trying to play Pedro but I don't think he is falling for it. I think that both he and Juan want her out of their lives for good, but Juan went about it the wrong way. He should have taken the initiative and offered her $250K US in cash to go away forever. She could live like a queen on that money unless she moves to the US.

As for her comment that one who damns his mother damns himself, I doubt that even the strictest interpretation of "Honor they father and thy mother" demands that one must unconditionally submit to an abusive parent. Neither Juan nor Pedro has forgotten that she tried to poison them. It's too bad that they can't prove that now because there is no statute of limitations on a crime like that.

Perhaps Pedro plans to put something into a beverage to cause Sara to miscarry. However, Juli would prefer that Sara dies . yikes Juli and Pedro make a Scary duo.

Diana, when I heard the phone ring and it was so muted, I got up thinking it was mine in my purse. Sure!!! LOL Pedro being Aurora’s favorite was news to me, too. I do agree that the two of them were cut from the same cloth though.

Victoria, I never noticed the frying pans, but now you have piqued my curiosity! I will have to start paying attention. What fun!

Darcy, “This show is going off the rails and leaving them far behind, and I like it!!!” I could not agree with you more. This has been such a hoot.

Susanlynn, here is hoping that neither Pedro nor Juli survives. Hmmm . . . There are at least a couple more I could add to that list to insure a happy ever after for Juan and Sara. ; )

The writers seem to be making a mystery out of how Mateo was adopted by Sev and Cat. Where was he found as a baby ...in the river, at the cantina???? Will we ever find out ? Also, what is up with his sudden. Illness ? Was those salads he and Juli baby were eating poisoned ? I'm confused.

Urban, ITA about Aurora trying to play Pedro but I think she is out of her league. Also, ITA that Juan should have just given her a good cash payout as you mentioned. Somehow Juan got mired in her game and that was not smart but hey, the plot has to move where the plot has to go.

Jarifa: AWESOME job with the recap of last night's episode.

Goldie Locks Sara is PREGGERS with Juan's baby awwww. Why do I get the feeling that Crazy Julieta or Crazy Simon will instigate some sinister plots to cause Goldie Locks Sara to lose the baby ?

Memo to Televisa: I beg of you do NOT bring back this train-wreck for a 2nd Season.

Jarifa, I can't believe that Juan so easily gave up Catalina's beloved refuge that seemed to mean so much to her to the awful, manipulating Aurora. i guess he just wants her to go away...but not in the sane way that Pedro would make her "go away." Juan seems to be exhausted by all the drama that has swirled around him since this tale began. He has become so passive and seems almost as comatose as Demon Deb.

Aurora is definitely out of her league. Not prepared to predict whether he will kill her but she would deserve that.

Thanks, Jarifa, well done! Juli and Pedro are getting closer to completely losing it in front of people. Surely one of them will make Juan see their true self. I thought Juli was going to push JuliBaby down the stairs. I feel Lucas knows a lot of the secrets and the true personalities of our evil ones. I wish he would sit down with Juan and Sara and tell all. Mateo could share a lot too.

Hoping Juan is starting to doubt Dante. Wonder if we’ll see his son. And Juan still doesn’t know that Deb pushed Tadeo.

Brayan needs to divorce Jessica. She’d never win a “wife of the year” award! And now we have an evil kid in the mix. I guess she was mad that Brandon didn’t want to hook up with her. I see that as being solved quickly. Although I predicted the whole drug thing wrong. Unless a gang does show up!

Paloma should have listened to us! But maybe Can This Marriage be Saved can help her. I read those as a teenager in my mother’s magazine, they were always pretty bad marriages and they would save them!

I was mad that Juan gave his mother part of the land, or refuge. If she can’t sell it she could end up staying on it. And if she becomes Pedro’s partner she’s not leaving. I wouldn’t have given her a penny.

Looking forward to tonight!
Liz

Steve, I whole heartedly agree with your MEMO.

Susanlynn, you are so right about Juan being stressed to the point that he seems to be sleepwalking through it all. I still feel sorry for him for being “too” good.

Urban, I wonder if in some deeply twisted way Aurora might actually enjoy being killed by an offspring so like her if that ends up being her fate.

Liz, I was happy to see that Brayan finally has found a backbone when it comes to Jessica. I liked the new Prospi telling her there were no free rides at his home anymore. Will that combo of events be enough to make her run back to Brayan? Whatever, I still hope he divorces her.

I would say there was no chance of a season 2 because this is a remake of a remake but then again they are making a La Desalmada 2 so I guess anything is possible! Some things shouldn’t be possible….

Does anyone else notice that Mauricio Hénao looks so much like Michel Brown!

Jarifa – thank you for your recap. I love the title, too.

Victoria – LOL I never noticed Adela’s pans. Now I’ll have to watch for that. ;-)

That whole Mateo-has-a-fever scene makes me think Looneyvision is using the tijeras to cut other scenes out because it made no sense. Burning up and hallucinating, then five minutes later he is fine with a cup of tea. QTH??? I hope Mateo is wearing his telenovela beanie hat.

Susanlynn – I also think Pedro will spike Sara’s food or drink with one of those drugs that causes a miscarriage. Bring on the famous telenovela gotas of doom!

” Memo to Televisa: I beg of you do NOT bring back this train-wreck for a 2nd Season.”
Steve, I totally agree. LOL

Juan is a naive idiot for giving Aurora part of SC!!!

Did Aurora say she might go into business wioth Dante and put a bordello on her portion of Santa Catalina? Or sell it? Or STTE? And Juan told her it cannot be sold or used that way? Did I dream that?

Interesting how Dante slipped up when Juan asked about his son's medical emergency. I hope Juan caught all that.

Interesting how Simon tried to gaslight Paloma over her birthcontrol, job, singing at the cantina. He is such a machismo in denial. The best PSA this show could give the viewers is for Paloma to divorce this guy.

Dear Brayan, dump that useless, lazy parasite Jessica ASAP. You can do so much better than her.

doris, the odd part is that Univision didn’t cut a thing in the FEVER event.I first thought Mateo had gotten drunk not that he was delirious. It made no sense. Whoopsie! Go figure!

Jarifa - thanks. Yes, at first I thought he had relapsed and was drunk. How strange. Telenoveas rarely have random scenes that are meaningless, so perhaps this will play out down the road.

We need something like an office football pool, making bets on who poisoned Debora. (lol)
My money is on Julieta. She is a sneaky cow. I have no doubt she ruined the harvest.
Pedro --- no. Like someone said yesterday, he prefers to torture and watch his victim hurt.
Simon --- no. He's too busy trying to control Paloma and hate on Sara & Debs.
Prospi --- maybe, but he knows it's not worth going to jail over. Although that could be his ticket out of his life with Rosa.
Rosa --- no. I just don't see her as a killer.
Dante --- no. Deb isn't worth going to jail over.

TELENOVELA BINGO UPDATE

- COMA is now checked off.

Wierdo - you got to check off POISONING this week. Wheeeee!

Late comment, busy day. Thanks Jarifa for the fantastic recap.

Many great comments as always.

"If I was a professional psychiatrist or psychologist and my name was Julieta Baby, I would change my name! Just saying" LOL this had me laughing out loud, Darcy. Thanks for that.

Steve, I completely agree with your memo.

Here we go again with the "Who-Dunnit" discussion. I much as I love it, I hope the writers tell us who the culprit is soon.

I'm positive it's not Dante, Rosa or Prospie. Simón is out of the question, at least for me, because of the way he acted in the last episode.

Pedro is still a suspect in my head, but good point that he likes to torture his victims. Shout-out to whoever wrote that.

Juli wasn't that much of a suspect, at least for me, originally, but I have to admit her behavior is pretty sus. Accusing someone else is a pretty culprit-y thing to do and Urban's comment about women and poison would make sense. Juli being the poisoner also matches the "real Juli" Prospie was talking about. Hmmm... She's more of a suspect now.

Add me to the list of being surprised with Aurora's statement. I would have never guess Pedro was her "favorite". Juan should have given her cash, ITA about that, Urban.

"The best PSA this show could give the viewers is for Paloma to divorce this guy." Couldn't agree more, doris. Couldn't agree more.

Doris, I vote Juli too!! Although I want it to be Rosa cuz that would be funny!

Victoria, my decidedly bias opinion (I love Michel Brown!! He is one of my favs) is that Mauricio Henao is no where near as good looking as Michel Brown but there are some features that they have in common.

Doris, congrats on your BINGO!!!

Bingo

Just saw your comment, doris! Yay! You get a bingo! Congrats! I'd celebrate with chocolate too, but it's almost 8pm in my country and I won't sleep if I eat it lol!

I had totally forgotten about Poisoning! Thanks for reminding me, doris! :)

Thanks, Jarifa. I want to be on the dancing horse too. Super recap. You’ve given us the details and conjured up some great imagery. My faves:

She wants them to be closer so the baby can feel him there… Please.

Juli watches all the action from her perch at the top the stairs.

(He also has a bridge in Brooklyn...)

Bryan and Jessica. Boohoo. Do we know what Jessica does all day long while Bryan works? Do we care? Will he realize how much happier he is without her?

So Juli doesn’t know it’s a very very bad TN omen to try to get rid of another’s baby against their will when you’re even carrying a baby of your own? She just became my No. 1 suspect in poisoning Deb.

Juan caved to Aurora? No! I'd give her a big fat NOTHING. I don't mind Pedro strangling her at all.

Yay!, Paloma and Simon finally had The Talk.

So cute. Proud Sal beaming about his smart lawyer daughter. I remember back when he knocked Paloma's law books to the floor.

Mateo's fever. It was believable to me. Pedro brought it on by speaking so cruelly to him. I see it more as an acute bout of depression, instead of fever. I guess the writers didn't know how to write it up.

Darn, I thought we were going to get to meet Dante’s son.

Simon was actually coming around about Sara, at work being civil and not treating her as if she and Deb were one and the same. I guess that's over now.

I miss Deb too. I hope they don't wait until the finale to wake her up. As it is, there's no one to prevent Juli and Pedro from causing a miscarriage.

Come to think of it, I'm not sure where Deb would come down on Sara having Juan's baby since she (Deb) is working with Pedro.

doris, congratulations on your Bingo!!!

Loved your list, so much fun.

Diana

I cannot beleve that demon Deb was still pushing Pedro at Sara after seeing his torture chamber . Unbelievable that she would want Pedro for Sara instead of kind, gentle, responsible Juan , the guy most mothers would want for their daughters.I still don't understand why Deb didn't want Sara with Juan. He would have been my pick for my daughters .

Weirdo, I am ready to find out the culprit or culprits soon, too.

Niecie, yes! We need Deb back on the scene ASAP keeping them all on their toes and undermining them as she sees fit! ; )

Regarding Dante's invisible family , does be really have a wife and son ? ????

My vote for Who Poisoned the Wicked Witch is Rosa. She has more motive than anyone else and she's more likely to use poison than enyone else. Simon is .ore likely to be violent while Pedro is more likely to be a sadist.

Julieta would be my prime suspect if it were Sara who got the poison.

Salvador surprised me by boasting about Paloma's legal eagle-ness.

As to why Deborah wants Sara to be with Pedro, I think I've said this before: She does not believe in love and wants Sara to think as she does. Deborah is a grifter. And she wants Sara to be just as evil and dishonest as herself. She wants Sara to use her beauty to leech off of men and take them for whatever she can. She would want to mastermind Pedro into the same thing with female victims. Juan is the guy you can take home to other mothers but Pedro is the guy to hide from jealous sisters and friends. However, Deborah can't control him but isn't smart enough to see that.

Thanks, everyone. I was so surprised to have my very first Telenovela BINGO! ever. It occurred to me to check off COMA and ... there it was!
