Doesn’t seem like anyone is interested in this dizi. I will put up one more brief recap. But I doubt I’ll be inspired to write any more.
This dizi is loaded with cruelty and high-handed, nasty ricos.
We found out the night before that Cemre was given electroshock in one of her stays in the nuthouse. My God! What is wrong with Celebi?
Tomris has Cecek in a locked bedroom in her house and keeps her drugged. She’s convinced everyone that the burned one is her dauter Simal.
Ruya’s father is weak and somehow needing Iskender’s family to support his “business”, whatever that is.
Cicek shows lots of bravery and removes the line from her hand, thus cutting off the drugs.
Celebi finds out someone came into the morgue the night of the fire.
Only one happy scene. Ozan and Omer are buddies and play a game of smashing a coin on the train rails.
Omer has managed to get the fake passports for Cemre and her daughter.
Iskender sees Ozan’s online article about men at the benefit throwing women into the fire and escaping. He sends some thugs to beat him up, but Omer comes to the rescue.
Ozan’s mother is a fairly nasty old witch. She throws Cemre into the street when Ozan has passed out. Fairly soon after Celebi’s henchman sees her and follows her taxi.
Ruya and Omer run into each other at the scene of the fire. Omer talks her out of so much guilt and makes her feel better.
Ruya’s father has invited her to lunch only so Iskender’s mother can drag him there. Ruya is NOT happy.
Cecek tries to get away. But Tomris comes in. Cecek says that she’s NOT Simal. Tomris says that she knows. She’s very cruel and tells her that Ali wouldn’t even recognize her. Her only chance is to pretend to be Simal and let Tomris cure her.
Asya is concerned about the man she saved. He seems to be in a coma, and we discover that Asya herself was in a coma after the car went over the cliff and she saved Derin’s miserable butt. Ali blames Volkan for what happened.
Ali keeps pretending he prefers to be in Istanbul for his mother’s sake.
Derin finds out Asya was at Mehli and Bahar’s wedding and she goes nuts.
Gonul keeps going from bad to wore.
Cavidan drops the bomb about Volkan and (she thinks) Derin selling their house. This doesn’t go down well with Gonul.
Ali give his father a taste of “street basketball”, knocking him over a couple of times.
Ali’s friend sends Asya the video of Ali being bullied at his Istanbul school.
We see that Derin can walk, but she’s playing the poor cripple.
It seemed to me that Volkan was trying to buy back the house he and Asya used to live in.
Ali has been re-enrolled in his old school in Tekirdag.
Derya tells Asya that she saw the police report of the car accident. It appears the driver’s brakes didn’t work and he did the vault over Asya’s car so as not to hit them head on. He saved their lives.
Novelera - thanks for the recaps on both. I liked the 1st episode of Destino, and then hit the wall of watching too many novelas. Destino lost out.
Infiel - the mystery motorist that Asya is sooo concerned (obsessed?) about is played by the actor who is the reporter on Destino. He played such a terrible person in Madre that it was hard to see him in Destino as a good guy.
Hairy chests are "in" in Turkey, don't see them much in novelas.
Oh Derin, the old fake paralysis trick.
Well, a girl's got to do something to keep a husband. Can't wait til she's busted again for lying.
Poor brave Ali has been through it with his parent' divorce and now the bullying. It's painful to see this development.
Gonul should buy Volkan's house for Derin. A win win for both sides!
Glad to see the wedding earlier. May this marriage be happy and forever.
Beth S.
Glad I didn't watch Madre! Thanks, Beth, for confirming what I thought about the man in the hospital bed also being Ozan. I wasn't positive but thought so.
I am expecting one of those flashbacks where Derin tells Gonul that Asya left her in the car and she managed to get free and come to the surface even though her legs are paralyzed. Otherwise why is Gonul so sure Asya didn't do what she said, save Derin?
Lots more nastiness by Gonul. We can now see where Derin got her deviousness. I didn't quite understand what was going on about "the property". As I mentioned before, I thought somehow that Volkan was trying to buy his old house. He was on the phone trying to get some offer accepted, I thought, and he looked to be outside the house where he used to live with Asya.
At the same time, I thought he was arranging to sell the house he lives in now with Derin. Something has gone awry with either or both of these deals. And we see Gonul looking smug and triumphant. Not sure what's going on here.
BSC Derin came to insult Asya in her office. Boy, if I were Asya, I'd be bitterly regretting going back and maneuvering Derin out of her trapped position and helping her to live. Does Derin not remember Asya saving her, or is she incapable of gratitude?
I wish Asya could have kept Cavidan's building and opened her own practice, but she seems to be now in a hospital working. I can't tell if it's that same clinic where she was so badly treated before.
There's definitely something nefarious going on with Mystery Guy. They showed his brakes failing. When brakes fail in telenovelas it's never a plain old mechanical issue. Someone has always cut the brake line. We just saw this in Amor Valiente when Tahsin tried to kill Cesur, not realizing that his daughter was in the car with him.
And some guy was lurking around the hospital. IIRC he walked into Mystery Guy's room and there was no sign of recognition. That guy called some other person, probably a bad guy to report the lack of recognition.
Asya brought MG a bag of toys, telling him that sometimes childhood memories are the easiest to access. Looks like he went for the Rubik's Cube. I'd have opted for the yoyo.
Nil was out of work and has been hired by the cook at Selcuk's restaurant. We discover that the newly middle class Selcuk has a hot girlfriend. Nil was more or less forced by the cook to take a plate to "the owner" and this woman planted a kiss on him.
novelera thank you for the mini recap. I am caught up on this dizi and have enjoyed the storyline and actors so far. "This dizi is loaded with cruelty and high-handed, nasty ricos." You are so right about that! I do like Omer and Ozan but fear that the nasties have the better hand for now.
Poor Cecek! When Ali didn't recognize her horribly burned face she just seemed to resign herself to the fate of becoming Simal. I appreciated the recap novelera!
Just a quick note to say that I haven't yet been able to watch Thursday's and Friday's episodes, and I haven't read any recaps. With any luck, I'll be caught up by tomorrow.
Thanks Novelera for the recap.
Yep it is Madre ol home week. Guy in the hospital with amnesia was one despicable character in Madre (he killed the guy who is hanging around the hospital) That guy was nice in Madre but was the crazed x husband stalker in la hija del ambassador part 3.
So the Boyz are getting the band back together.
Yes Derin is so BSC and Volkan wants to buy the ol crib cause yeah that will get his beloved Asya and Ali back. Geez Volkan has been living off his father in law all this time.
FEV
I have to agree with everyone that it's a little bizarre watching the characters from Madre play different roles in this novela: We have Asia who went from a powerless, anxious woman to someone that isn't afraid to speak her mind and stand up for herself. Then we have the mystery guy who was pure evil in Madre now playing a seemingly innocent character (though it's hard not hard to imagine him all of a sudden attacking Asta and asking for Melek)
And then we have the other character that's stalking mystery guy who now seems to be playing a nefarious role when he was such a sweetheart in Madre. (I do appreciate that they were able to bring in the same voice actors for Asya and mystery guy that they had in Madre, makes it easier to adjust).
The video of Ali being bullied was super disturbing to see. I'm so glad that he's back at his old school.
I'm glad to see Selcuk has mad something of his self, and is no longer a thug. Really hated his character at the beginning, but he did a 180 and transformed into a caring individual.
I love the gossip Cavidan. So passive aggressive in a hilarious way
