La Herencia # 69, Friday, 10/7/2022, New Beginnings & Endless Daddy Issues
We return to Juli’s downfall and once again hear her arrogantly declare to Mateo that the baby is his but no one is ever going to know, everyone will continue believing the child is his nephew/niece. Juli comes into the main room and immediately starts making her denials when Juan demands to know how she could have done this! Juli tries to convince him that the baby really is his and what they all overheard was her lying to Mateo because she’s tired of his harassment. Juan isn’t buying this for a second. Juli looks to Pedro who gives her the nod and she continues to attempt her case. Everyone else looks shocked very uncomfortable. Juan and Juli go back and forth until Rosa predictably tries to intervene and defend her little princess but Prospi cuts her off and instead demands that Juli tell them all the truth once and for all. Whose baby is it? Juli surprisingly acquiesces to daddy’s demand and admits the baby is Mateo’s!!! But she hates him!! (Note to Juli and people everywhere, don’t sleep with people you hate, that’s weird!) In fact, she detests him as much as she hates Juan! Juan says the typical how could you do this? I don’t even know who you are anymore! Pedro thinks Juan should calm down and show Juli some understanding!!! (LMAO) Cause you know, she lost everything overnight and was desperate and all – the way he says this, his tone of voice, it’s hard to know for sure if he’s defending her or mocking her. Juan does the opposite of calming down and starts screaming and Lucas jumps in with additional accusations of how Juli separated Juan from Sara. He tells her that she was just obsessed with beating Sara. Juli tells him to shut up, all he ever does is follow Sara and Juan around like a little puppy desperate for a little affection. Mateo jumps in and tells Juli not to speak to Lucas like that and Juli unleashes on him asking him if he's happy now.
Rosa somehow still has the gumption to tell everyone they have no right to criticize Julietita!!! Prospi tries to calm everyone down and says that it’s clear there is only one conclusion to be drawn here, Juli needs some help!! (No kidding!) He is embarrassed by what’s happened. Juli can’t hear this and she starts screaming that she doesn’t need help! She needs nothing from any of them, and in the most LMAO moment of the night she screams at all of them to GET OUT!!! Juan is quick to correct her, um yeah, princess it’s you that will be leaving!
Sara and Deb are still discussing the big question of whether or not Deb and Dante were lovers while Deb and Sev were, but Deb wiggles out of this by gaslighting Sara and accusing her of being an ungrateful brat who dares to question Mommy even after all the sacrifices she’s made for her. Deb storms off in (un)righteous indignation saying if Sara doesn’t trust her, and she has nothing to do here…
Corni is crying to Bea about how Tadeo doesn’t love him anymore and she tries to reassure him that Tadeo still loves him even if he’s confused currently. Corni doesn’t think so and he reminds Bea of the famous ‘call of the blood’ (The basic blood is thicker than water concept). Bea looks like she pities his simplemindedness. Corni is still going to protect Tadeo though, with his life if necessary. Bea lets him know she’s thought about it and she’s going to keep Tadeo from the hacienda as Corni asked. Corni is relieved but his elation is short-lived as Bea also tells him that she isn’t sure how much good it will do – Pedro is suing her for custody, she already received the paperwork. They worriedly watch Tadeo as he goes to join grandpa and a table full of friends playing cards.
Jess and Alondra try to convince Juli to leave with dignity but of course, she ain’t going out like that and screams at her sisters to leave her alone. Juan wants an explanation – did Juli take advantage of the fact that he couldn’t go with her to get the paternity results to somehow alter them? Mateo confirms this is true and tells his brother they were completely falsified and Juli Baby was able to get the real results! (Oh Mateo, why are you telling the psycho who’s to blame for her downfall. I am scared for you now Juli Baby! You should have ran when we told you to!!) Juli blames Juli Baby of course, and says SHE made her look ridiculous – oh honey, I think you helped with that one. Juan assures her she’s the only one to blame! Was she really going to lie their whole lives? To change the destiny of her child? His nephew??? He never wants to see her again! Juli reminds him they are still married but Juan assures her he will correct that error in judgment ASAP!
Sara is flashing back to the last time she saw daddy, when she was horseback riding and begged him not to leave her. Sev looks like he has some sympathy but ultimately just says ‘bye Sara’ and walks away. Back to present day, Sara shakes off the memory and takes a deep breath.
Juli is still railing at the world and screams at Juan that she will never divorce him! The first thing he’d do is go looking for that stupid Sara!!! (He never stopped sweetheart; I doubt he’ll wait now for the divorce decree) She promises she’ll never allow that to happen as she finally storms out of the room. Prospi wants to talk things out with Juan but he says there’s nothing to resolve. Berta intervenes and insists they should take Juli home, she needs to leave Santa Catalina. Juan tells Mateo that he’s the one who has something to work out with Juli and Simon agrees that if it’s true that the baby is Mateo’s, he needs to come to an agreement with her! Pedro takes that moment to sardonically congratulate Mateo on creating such a dramatic scene, and Lucas quickly tells him that no one is in the mood for his crap. Pedro keeps laughing and munching on the finger foods completely unconcerned with what anyone else thinks.
Mateo apologizes to Prospi and Rosa, it wasn’t his intent to hurt Juli he just had to do what needed to be done. Prospi wants to know why he didn’t say anything sooner and Mateo says he had his suspicions but he didn’t have proof until now. Juan thinks Mateo should do what he needs to do – presumably go talk to Juli. (Darcy thinks Mateo should leave well enough alone and give Juli a wide berth until she’s had time to calm down, not that she will calm down! I mean it’s not like she’s ready to pop tonight, where’s the urgency? Talk to her next week, or month…) Rosa somehow still feels like she has the right to demand that Juan not abandon Juli and she tries but of course is left yelling ‘Juan’ at his back when he walks out of the room.
Back to Bea and Corni, and Corni gets more bad news…Bea has a date!!! She’s not interested in what Corni thinks or what anyone else thinks. She’s a single woman and life is short! Time to seize the day! Corni is left watching as yet another man walks off with his now ex-wife and Tadeo. Sal quickly comes over to make sure Corni isn’t going to do something stupid but Corni is done with stupid. He’s not going to do anything but watch as his heart breaks.
Mateo really is stupid enough to go looking for Juli immediately and he bangs on the door and demands to be let in. Juli opens up willingly and aggressively drags him in by the collar. (Officially worried for the health and safety of both Mateo and Juli Baby) Juli was waiting for him and she absolutely unloads on him, calling him a bastard and a poor excuse for Juan. She says Pedro was right and no one really loves him, he’s a worthless alcoholic! She slaps him. He just tells her to go ahead and say whatever she wants, insult him all she wants, he doesn’t care. Because all the love he once had for her now exists for his child and even if Juli hates it, he loves his child. (This is a weird statement – not sure if Mateo is accusing Juli of hating the child or hating the fact that it’s his child in her belly) Juli yells that Mateo will never have his child, but Mateo just says ‘we’ll see’! Juli screams at him to get out and removes him so forcefully that his shirt becomes half unbuttoned in the process. Mateo yells at the door that even though Juli doesn’t believe it now, he’s always going to be there for his child AND for Juli, since she’s the mother of his child. Juli just takes out her frustration on the room throwing things around, breaking, throwing everything off every surface – you know the typical toddler fit. Prospi comes and convinces Mateo to resolve this later – why didn’t I think of that? Prospi tells him that what is important right now is Juli’s safety and the health of the baby. He comes into the room and is distressed to see the destruction – Rosa looks disturbed too. Prospi has to physically restrain Juli as she tries to get free but ultimately breaks down in tears and falls to the floor.
Sara is now checking out pictures of herself as a child sitting on Sev’s lap. Dante arrives and tells her he wanted to check on her and see if she needed anything for her pregnancy. He tells her he’s proud of her having the strength to renounce the inheritance. Sara thanks him and Dante flashes back to his moments with Sara and his need to protect her. Back to present, he gives her a speech about how proud her father would be and he begs her to forgive her dad for the mistakes he made. Parents aren’t perfect, but they love their children. Sara says she wishes she could hear it from her dad. Dante offers to be her Daddy substitute and give her a hug. She allows it and he hugs her – it would be touching if he wasn’t a lying scheming murderer, but since he is, meh.
Corni’s calm was short-lived cuz now he’s determined he isn’t just going to leave things like this. He’s off to do……something. Modesto begs him to leave Bea alone but he is going to take off anyway until he runs into Deb! Deb is still on her ‘did you poison me’ tour and she accuses Corni next. Still in full possession of all her bravado she shamelessly mocks him for the scar she left on his face, and once again seems not at all scared facing another one of her potential killers. Corni rather amusingly responds to the accusation by claiming he can’t remember! Did he do it or not?? LOL Modesto begs him to stop and Deb promises to see him rot in jail (How many people is she sending to jail for this crime?) Corni says they’ll be going to jail together.
Pedro, Lucas and Simon are in the study and Pedro is scolding Lucas for helping Mateo. It was cruel to out Juli in such a public way. Lucas thinks it had to be done and Simon says Juli had many chances to tell the truth before this happened. Simon says poor Juan, he understands how he must be feeling after being deceived by someone he thought he loved him. Pedro asks if Simon is saying that because of something Paloma did but Simon says he’s just emphasizing. Then he says, and I swear SIMON said this: ‘That’s why I’m happy Juan and Sara are going to reconcile!!!!!’ Pedro says Sara and Juan are not going to reconcile but Simon tells his brother to accept it, there’s nothing stopping them. Lucas says they are probably already together in this very moment!
Yep! Told you Juan wasn’t going to wait for some pesky divorce decree! He didn’t even wait til the end of the day, and as Lucas predicted he arrives at Sara’s doorstop. She cautiously allows him in not knowing about the day’s developments but he goes straight for the ‘my loves’ and is holding her, touching her face, wrapping her in hugs, the norm.
Juli is finally looking subdued and is leaving the hacienda with her parents and her sisters. Rosa tells Adela they will come for Juli’s things later and she says no problem, God bless. Lucas tries to talk to Alondra but she brushes him off, she’s not happy with him right now. Lucas just says he understands and they’ll talk later, but I think he should find himself another girlfriend who is more supportive and less drama. Juli takes a last look around and we hear her thoughts that all of this is hers and no one is going to take it from her!!!
Back to Juan and Sara, Juan tells her about Juli’s lie and she is sorry. She knows that it must be a disappointment losing the illusion of his first child. Juan is ready to move on though, Juli isn’t the woman he loves and nothing compares to how he felt knowing Sara was having his baby. He’s getting divorced and he wants Sara to come back to Santa Catalina and be by his side. Sara isn’t sure, a lot has happened. But Juan knows they can be happy together.
Pedro calls Dante wanting to know where he is. Dante had things to do but he’s back at Santa Catalina now. Pedro wants the answer to one question: What are the names of the charities that are getting the money from Lucas and Mateo’s share of the inheritance? He imagines they will also be getting Sara’s part. Pedro says to meet him in the cellar (?) He needs that information urgently. He wants to make a business deal with them. Dante looks rightfully worried.
Lucas
and Mateo are cleaning up Juli’s mess and wondering how they ended up here. Lucas
has a suspicion but he’s reluctant to voice it. Mateo gets it out of him though
and he says he doesn’t think Juli could have pulled this off on her own, someone
is helping her! Mateo flashes back to Sara’s big renouncing the inheritance
speech where he remembers noticing Pedro getting a call from Juli. He startles
and tells Lucas, it was Pedro. Lucas isn’t surprised at all and just simply
says so you too noticed something weird between those two, like they were up to
something! Lucas thinks Pedro is capable of anything to separate Juan and Sara
and Mateo adds Juli is capable of the same.
Sara doesn’t want to go back to that house! She renounced the inheritance and Simon and Mateo could even throw her out of the company at any moment. Juan says she has every right to be at Santa Catalina because she is his woman and no one is going to hurt her, not even Juan himself! (Yes, he did say it and it was nice of him to acknowledge that he has been the one to hurt her most in the past) He begs her not to reject him and to accept. I love you, he declares! Sara loves him too, and they start making out.
So, Dante knows exactly who Pedro is, what he’s capable of, AND that he knows about Sara; someone please tell me how in the world he can be stupid enough to go meet him alone in the torture chamber????? Yes folks, that’s where they are, and Pedro is demanding to know what Dante told Juan earlier in the office. Dante told Juan that Pedro ran Campo Verde, but that’s not what he tells Pedro. He tells Pedro that they were talking about the refuge. Pedro takes a couple steps toward Dante and Dante backs up (way too late for that!) Pedro tells him to calm down and asks why he’s afraid of him (I wonder) he assures him that he isn’t going to kill him. Dante says he’s not stupid, Pedro killed his own mother! (Again, if you’re not stupid, what are you doing in that room??) Pedro says she wasn’t his mom, his mom was Catalina. Oh, and he grabs Dante by the throat shoves him up against the wall and starts choking him as he says this. Dante gets momentarily free and tries to punch Pedro but gets air. Pedro hits back and quickly gets the upper hand. Dante calls him crazy and as they fight, they have the same ‘You were supposed to make me President’ ‘You aren’t good enough to be President, you’re a poor man’s Juan’ argument they’ve had before.
Speaking of Juan, Sara is still trying to resist the move to Santa Catalina. She wants to be with Juan but still live in her apartment. Away from all the drama and fighting of the hacienda. Can’t they do that? She doesn’t want that environment for their child. Juan says if she wants him too, he too will renounce the inheritance and they can go live their life far far away from all this mess. He would do it for her and for their child!
More fighting for Pedro and Dante and Dante does get the upper hand again briefly, promising to kill Pedro; but thanks to an unfortunately placed piece of wood Pedro is able to hit Dante hard in the head and regain the advantage, he then hits him again and takes off his belt and goes back to the choking – it doesn’t look good for Dante.
Sara doesn’t want Juan to leave Santa Catalina. The business wouldn’t be the same without him and Pedro, Simon, Lucas and Mateo NEED him! (I personally think they would probably be benefitted by losing the safety net, but okay) Juan says then help me, lead with me. He gives her the hard sell about fighting together for their happiness and it looks like it might have worked.
Back at the Millan household, Prospi is laying into Rosa telling her the whole thing is her fault. This is all happening because of her stupid obsession with having her daughters marry a Del Monte. She drove Julieta crazy! Rosa defends herself saying she only wanted her daughters to be happy and she feels horrible with the public humiliation she experienced today. Alondra asks them to stop fighting and we are now able to see that mom and dad are having this lovely argument right in front of Alondra and Jessica. Alondra thinks all that matters right now is how Juli is feeling but Jessica says dad is right. She tells her mom to just look at where she’s led her favorite daughter and this leads to more ‘you only love Julieta’ fighting. Rosa insists she loves all her daughters. Prospi is frustrated because he says they knew their daughter had a problem, and they should have gotten her help, but they did nothing! Rosa is clinging to denial and says Juli isn’t sick. Prospi says she’s sick with ambition like you taught her and Rosa says he’s hurting her feelings. Prospi doesn’t back down however and insists their family is now seeing the consequences of the damage Rosa has done.
Juli is in bed crying and remembering the day Juan asks for her hand in marriage. Big surprise she declares that Sara arrived and ruined everything! She remembers Juan hugging Sara after her near fall from the horse. She says out loud: ‘Juan is mine, Sara, he will always be mine!’
He certainly looks like Sara’s while they are making out and Juan doesn’t want to pressure Sara. More talk about Santa Catalina or not Santa Catalina with no clear indication of where Sara’s decision lands. Sara does say that she feels bad for Juli, despite what she’s done because she must have felt really desperate to do something like that. Juan says he is going to call Dante to begin the divorce, and he picks up his phone to call but Dante isn’t going to answer because he is unconscious.
Pedro is actually dragging a badly beaten Dante across the torture shack. He sees Juan’s call and takes Dante’s phone.
Juan informs Sara that Dante didn’t answer but he’ll talk to him later (I doubt he’ll be available, maybe get a divorce lawyer?) he assures her he is going to get a divorce. There is no longer anything in their way. He kisses Sara again and says he will wait on her answer. Juan goes to leave and Sara looks longingly after him, is she thinking of following?
Deb is taking her turn at crazy and she enters Santa Catalina and goes all hulk on the painting of Sev and Catalina, screaming about hating them – and when I say she attacked it, she went FULL OUT even beating it with a stick! Adela comes in appalled and asks what she is doing and Deb says she is doing what she should have done on the very first day she came to this hacienda. Paloma comes running down the stairs followed by Simon as Deb is literally ripping the canvas to shreds. Simon yells at her to leave it alone and tells her to get out because this time he isn’t going to be able to stop himself and he’ll throw her out himself. Deb is thrilled by that threat and says she knows what else he really wanted to do and he did it, he killed his father!!! Simon is looking a little Simon-cray cray and Deb is enjoying every moment.
Back to Rosa talking about how much Prospi’s words hurt her. Prospi says it hurts him to say it but he’s worried about what will happen now, Juli falsified documents. That’s a crime. Rosa says Juli can’t go to jail and Jessica thinks they need to do something. Alondra wants to talk to Lucas and try to get him to pressure Juan not to file charges against Juli (eyes rolling – but then he probably won’t anyway she’s pregnant with his nephew/niece.) Jessica gets a text from Brian and she has to go because things aren’t good between them either. She walks out the door saying she and Juli will be two divorcees. Alondra wants to go talk to Juli but Rosa says she’ll do it. As she leaves, Prospi reminds her that Juli is sick and asks her to please try to get to her heart and not her mind. Rosa looks truly heartbroken but still hasn’t admitted Juli has a problem.
Simon calls Deb a damn harpy but she retorts with at least I’m not a murderer. Paloma gets involved and defends Simon and tells Deb to leave. Deb laughs at the idea that Paloma might feel like the woman of the house. Paloma says she’s Simon’s wife and that gives her the right. Deb says they are made for each other, a crazy psychologist murder and the daughter of a ‘rabanera’? (I couldn’t find a translation for this other than radish LOL. I’m guessing like whore based on Paloma’s reaction) In the best moment of the whole night, Paloma hauls off and smacks the hell out of Deborah!!! Deb goes to respond but Simon gets between them and warns Deb she better not touch his wife or he will be the one to kill her. He says he now understands Sara, she only acted under Deb’s manipulation! Deb laughs at the idea that Simon now suddenly loves Sara (and hey viewerville is laughing or rolling their eyes too, I’m betting) Simon says he doesn’t love her but he pities her because she has a mother like Deb. Deb declares at least Sara has a mother. Simon says it’s too bad that whoever tried to kill her didn’t succeed. He yells louder and louder for her to get out and never come back as Paloma holds him back and Adela looks scared the situation will escalate. Deb is unmoved and cool as cucumber declaring they will see at the end who wins.
Sara is calling Deb saying ‘Answer Deborah’ ‘Answer Mama’, Deb is too busy ruining other people’s days to answer. Kind of like Pedro.
Pedro is still yammering to Dante, who is surprisingly still alive, about how he never got him the Presidency but Pedro is going to keep his word to Dante, because he’s a man of his word. Pedro tells Dante he looks very good… he’s in some sort of torture device – I can’t think of the name of it – where he’s stuck between two pieces of wood with holes for his head and arms. I don’t know what promise it is Pedro is referring to but it might be a promise to kill him because he’s talking about his last minutes of life and about torturing him slowly because he’s a traitor. He gets up and picks up some knifes and pilers, coming back he sits really close and talks about getting comfortable. He starts chatting about letting bad blood and I just stopped listening because this is creepy and I feel like ‘I’m going to kill you’ is explanatory enough. We do see a flashback to Pedro playing as a child which gives us the idea that he had a taste for torture even as a kid. Dante had been gagged but Pedro removes it and Dante begs him not to kill him, I think. I couldn’t hear his exact words because he was whimpering a lot.
Berta and Modesto are chatting at the bar and she has to leave soon since the family is home from the baby shower from hell, but she needed a little escape to see him. Before she leaves, she needs to tell him a secret. Modesto wants to tell her one too, but says ladies first. Berta confesses she believes Prospi is the one who tried to kill Deb and Modesto is appropriately impactata!!
Speaking of Deb, she’s now outside still fighting with Simon, with Paloma and Adela looking on. Juan arrives and Deb claims she just came to get some stuff from her room but they wouldn’t let her enter, even Adela denied her. Adela says not to lie and Simon lets Juan know Deb destroyed their parents painting but Deb lies and says it was an accident. I don’t think Juan believes her but he doesn’t question it and tells her to leave. She asks if she can go to the chapel first??? Simon says no, but Juan says yes. Deb thanks him for being the civilized one! LOL Deb turns to go. Faking an afterthought, Deb turns back and says ‘BTW, surely you my dear Simon, know that Paloma is not the daughter of that bar owner! She’s the daughter of Sev DelMonte!’ (This story again??? So late in the game??) Everyone is appropriately upset by the suggestion.
Rosa’s attempt to talk to Juli doesn’t go well. (Are you surprised? Me neither) Rosa tries, I guess, but Juli doesn’t want to see or talk to her. She can’t stand her! She hates her!! This is all her fault!!! Rosa looks like she is taking the accusation to heart.
Paloma
however is rejecting Deb’s accusation. Sal is her daddy, not Sev!!! Simon can’t
believe Deb is the kind of woman his father chose as a lover and Juan can’t believe
Deb would make up something like this but Deb assures them, she isn’t making it
up and if they don’t believe her, they can always ask their mother! No, wait
not their mother, she’s dead. Paloma can ask her mother! Then Paloma can fight
her the inheritance too!!!
Simon jumps again but both Paloma and Juan hold him back. He runs off and Paloma and Adela follow. Juan approaches Deb and says he regrets that she is the mother of the woman he loves. Deb says she regrets he can’t see what is going on around him. He thinks he is the perfect man, the leader; but all he is leading is a broken, falling apart family. Juan retorts that he will keep fighting to unite his family, he won’t let anyone separate them! She tells him that he is too late! Doesn’t he know, that’s exactly what Sara came to do, to ruin his family? She came to destroy everything about Sev’s legacy that was denied to her!!!
Speaking
of, Sara herself walks right onto the scene and tells her mom she wrong!!
Nothing is broken. She takes Juan’s hand and says that she, Juan and their baby
are going to unite – for the sake of their family, for the sake of everyone! Deb
looks both shocked and appalled and it’s glorious!!!

My favorite was: "So, Dante knows exactly who Pedro is, what he’s capable of, AND that he knows about Sara; someone please tell me how in the world he can be stupid enough to go meet him alone in the torture chamber?????" I felt like that was a big mistake on the writers' part making Dante so gullible. Also, what I do not get either is why is Pedro always is able to beat any one of these guys in a fight except for Pablo. Does he have super powers or does he live at the gym and at martial arts classes? His fighting ability is pretty unrealistic.
I think they did a great job of showing how far over the edge Juli actually is. Prospi can blame Rosa all he wants and as he should BUT he also was to blame for never standing up to his wife.
I may be alone in this, but I enjoyed Deb ripping down the portrait and baiting the Del Monte sons, especially Simón.
The question is: will Paloma ask her mother who her father really is as Deb suggested?
I cannot wait until Monday!
I love Deb's bravado!!! Do what you want to her and she's still 100% authentically her. I don't know how you can stand face to face with multiple people you think may have tried to kill you and just goad them!!! It's hilarious! I loved Paloma slapping her though! YES!!!
Still don't think Paloma is Sev's but I guess we'll be finding out. Are any of the adoptive kids bio-kids?? Will we find out???
Is Dante dead? I'm guessing yes!!
ITA that they had to dumb Dante down to make him want to go to the chamber of torture to meet Pedro. I knew he was a goner the moment he hugged Sara. I actually found the moment touching, it's probably better Sara didn't know she was hugging her real father, she would have never done it had she known the whole truth. And when she finds out he's dead, she'll have a moment to flash back to until we get so sick and tired of it, we start to ffw.
Deb does have more avocados than all these men combined, though. I still believe someone we haven't really considered, like Rosa, tried to poison her, but she thinks it's Dante and she still goes to fight with him. And she keeps going against Pedro, who is a murderer or againts Simon, who is cucko!!
Julieta being unstable before has been mentioned lately. Maybe it was around the time she started acting jealous with Juan, before Sara was even an issue. Or maybe her crazy started while she was with Mateo. I'm still not clear on the timeline of their relationship: they were together before she went to college, then she was gone for a while, she came back and Mateo found her a job at the company, where she met Juan and started going out with him. Did Mateo start drinking while she was away, or when she came back and wouldn't go out with him anymore but started dating Juan? Saying he inherited his parents' genes is too easy, what was his trigger?
Julieta has actually said she hates her baby. Maybe she should go by the stables, try to ride that untamed horse.
How stupid of Dante to go to the slaughterhouse of doom. Did Pedro use those pliers to pull one of Dante's teeth? I could not watch and only heard the screams. I thought he was dead, and then there he was in the stocks. Did Pedro build those? One-day delivery from eBay or amazon.com? Torture Devices'R'Us?
I agree with ALL the other comments, so well leave it at that. Monday will be interesting.
As several have noted , I couldn't believe that Dante met Pedro in his chamber of horrors after seeing him torture Victor and Brayan and kill his mother. Dante is a ruthless, tough old bird , but Pedro has attacked him more than once. I think the writers went too far in that scene with Pedro torturing Dante. Too dark . Too disgusting and nauseating .
Deb is like a boxer who just refuses to stay down . She confronts Dante even though she suspects him of poisoning her . I guess the answer is that the evil three ..Deb , Dante, Pedro , are so arrogant and conceited that they think they are indestructible .
It was funny watching Deb climb up in her heels to take down the portrait . Really ? After everything that has happened , including being poisoned and in a coma , she still can't resist harassing the bros. and stirring the pot. And she knocked her hat askew as she struggled to destroy the portrait . Is this the first time we have seen her in slacks ?
Juli's crazy is showing more and more . She is exhausting .
Families have been nearly destroyed, lives tattered and shredded.
Prospi said some time ago that no one knows what Juli was capable of. It is he that knew the evil lurking in her heart. Rosa made many, many mistakes but the sole blame is not hers alone. I completely agree Jarifa, he must take responsibility as well.
The actress playing Juli has done an amazing job. Ablaze with fire and passion. Hell hath no fury…
“Deb does have more avocados than all these men combined” made me grimly smile Adriana. Brandishing her indignation like a sword, she was all fire and brimstone, condemning with brutal, sharp vitriol.
Now that Lucas and Mateo realize Pedro is the silent agitator, the net is slowly closing around him. Juan must put his heart aside and see that Pedro is brought to justice.
“How stupid of Dante to go to the slaughterhouse of doom” was right doris? Why was he not thinking?
Was Bea’s date/boyfriend Juan’s assistant (MIA lately) or someone else?
Cornelio is trying for redemption, albeit far too late. Perhaps he will self-sacrifice in order to save someone else.
Darcy, thank you for capturing this jam-packed episode so perfectly.

I'm so grateful for the recap because Juan telling Sara about Juli's lie getting exposed went right by me. The closed captions must have left that out. I figured that he told her while we viewers were on a commercial break. ;-)
GET OUT!!! Juan is quick to correct her, um yeah, princess it's you that will be leaving!
Bea looks like she pities his[Cornelio's] simplemindedness.
she [Rosa] tries but of course is left yelling 'Juan' at his back when he walks out of the room.
Yikes, poor Dante. I kept looking away during the torture, but I believe Dante is still alive, but without a finger or, maybe, a hand.
I dunno. It seems too soon for Sara to move back in. Will she start sharing Juan's bedroom. First step, replace the bed.
It's so much more fun to watch a novela and have Caray to read.
Sometimes I can't wait for the Gran Final, but once it is shown, I wish it wasn't over.
I agree with everyone that Dante going to Pedro's champer of torture was pretty stupid. That was bad writing.
Jarifa, I agree that the way Juli turned out it's not only Rosa's fault, it's Prospie's too.
I may be alone in this, but I didn't like Deb ruining Catalina's and Sev's portrait. That was just disrespectful, especially to Catalina. Sev kind of deserved it.
Steve, add Henry to the Body Count.
I also found it weird that Juan asked Dante to handle his divorce. QTH?
Thanks again, Darcy!
So far I don't think we've ever seen a flashback from Deb's point of view. I would love to see how she and Dante hatched the scheme to pass Sara off as Sev's baby.
Simon's come around to seeing there's a big difference between Sara and Deb. At first when he started being civil with Sara at the office, about a program to support employees, especially pregnant women, I thought he might be trying to snow her. Then, later when he told Juan that Pedro was slacking and that Sara would actually make a better vice president, I knew he was on the level.
I'm not a lawyer, but I don't see why Juan needs to divorce Julieta. Just do an annulment. The marriage was never consummated and Julieta committed fraud punishable by law.
Deb destroying the painting of Sev & Catalina definitely was OTT (over the top) and shows just how BSC she has become.
She is not BSC in the proper sense. She knows what she is doing. She is both a socio-and a psychopath.
Niecie is right; Juan only needs an annulment. He was deceived with fraudulent documents stating that he was the one who knocked up Juli Stepford. There are documents and witnesses. This would also be sufficient if he needed a Catholic annulment.
I felt sorry for Dante until I remembered he’s killed a couple of people that we know. I’m thinking Pedro will be the last to get what’s coming to him.
I didn’t want Sara to go back to the Hacienda, they need to get rid of all the murderers and crazies first. I could not live with all that turmoil.

Urban, you are right that a real life Deb would be a nighmare as a mother and a uman being in general. But in the novela she is being played for laughs sometimes, which is wrong, but Elizabeth Alvarez is doing such a great job with her, I think some of the goodwill for the actress transfers to her character. Look also at Pedro's many snarky comments or the faces he makes sometimes, like when noticiing that everybody wanted to get some of Sev's attention. We've all been saying it, it makes it funny when a character says it, too. And Pedro is a mad man, no redeeming qualities whatsoever.
