La Herencia #73 Thursday "Blame the beasts and the dead !"
Deb and Pedro are fighting in the chamber of torture. What if Sara found out that you were willing to “sell” her to me? Pedro asks. Or that she is not Sev’s daughter? Deb’s reply is that she will tell everyone about his connection to Henry – before disappearing, Dante told her about his longstanding partnership with Henry, that was ruined when they decided to make Pedro part of their team. And if he plans to play Pedro el Torturador with her, all this info will be sent to Juan. For once Pedro is speechless.
Adela thinks they should cancel their
wedding with everything that is happening, but Sal is certain that now, more
than ever, they need to stand together. Prospi and Rosa arrive, upset over the
fact that Juli is in the hospital because she tried to harm herself (not
exactly right, she tried to harm her innocent baby). Rosa apologizes to Adela
(and this time she really means it), she’s treated Bryan so badly while Adela
has always been kind to Jessica. She adds that she has to make up for many past
mistakes, Prospi says there will be no vow renewal for now, without Juli it
wouldn’t be the same. They don’t know how long she will have to be locked up,
the doctors said she has a mental crisis. Sal and Adela want to postpone, too,
Rosa says there is no need, but they both insists and Rosa is moved by their
solidarity.
Adela mentions they have big problems, too,
Rosa apologizes for not having asked but she is very worried for Julieta. Adela
says they can all be in pain at the same time, heartbreak spare nobody.
Sara and Juan are kissing when Pedro finds
them and sarcastically claps for their reunion. Juan doesn’t want to talk to
his brother now, they will end up fighting. Pedro wonders what the wife,
Julieta, would say to see them together and Juan informs him that Juli is in
the hospital. Pedro finds it amusing: “No kidding, the two of you can turn
anyone crazy!” Apparently love CAN conquer it all, he adds and Daniel
Elbittar is pretty terrific in this scene.
What about Dante, any news on him? Juan
says no, but he wants Pedro to know that all his brothers love him a lot. Pedro
loves them, too, and he will repair his many mistakes as soon as he gets over
his mother showing up out of the blue. He just needs time, he adds, pats Juan
on the shoulder and walks away, devilish smirk on his face. Sara tells Juan
that they have to make sure Pedro is not aware of their plan until the time is
right (??)
Mateo tells Julieta Baby that Julieta is in
the hospital. JBaby says she has feelings for him, and she knows he cares about
her, too, but it’s not enough. Mateo thanks her for all her help, JBaby says
she knows she doesn’t stand a chance because he still loves Julieta. Even if
they are not together, they share a baby. Mateo is sad he and JBaby didn’t meet
in better circumstances, they decide to always be there for each other.
At the Millan house, Jess asks Bryan to
tell her exactly what happened with Pedro. Bryan tells her how he asked Pedro for
a raise first, he treated him badly, then he went to Sara and Pedro heard them
and tortured him, almost killed him and threatened to kill his family. That’s
why he didn’t get home that night and that’s why he never went back to work in
Santa Catalina. Jess apologizes for having doubted him, they will find a solution
together. They kiss, cry and makeup.
Rosa and Prospi are about to leave Sal’s
when Juan comes looking for them. They are both mad with Juan, especially Prospi,
even as he realizes everything is his fault, he should have acted before. All
of this happened because of his lack of character, but if Juan wants a divorce,
he has to do it now! No more Del Montes for Julieta.
Modesto approaches Juan to say things would
be easier if everyone were honest and spoke the truth (So rich coming from you!
I have no words!) He warns Juan to be careful with Pedro, he has a dark side
that he managed to control before because of his family’s love. And no, this is
not about Cornelio, this is bigger than that. Pedro could harm a lot of people.
Yeah, old man, keep talking in riddles!
Sara comes to the apartment to talk to her
mother about her “visit” at the ranch. Deb tells Sara Dante was the one who
tried to kill her because she ended their relationship. He wanted to leave his wife
and marry her (as if!), but Deb couldn’t live with the homewrecker stamp
anymore (triple as if!). Sara doesn’t believe a word, but Deb insists Dante was
evil, he even threatened to harm Sara. But she is not a bad woman, she’d do
anything for her and her baby.
As Deb leaves, Sara gets a voice message
from Juan, another one of his poems. She’s smitten.
A week later…
Sara is sending Juan a voice message,
thanking him for allowing her to live these peaceful moments together (for them
a week must feel like an eternity). Then they meet and kiss, declare their love
for one another once again, then hit the sheets. This would be a great recapper
break, but instead I’m wasting it telling you that Michelle Renaud and Matias
Novoa are together in real life.
Julieta is back home, his entire family is
very welcoming. Bertha promises to prepare some tasty food. Julieta says she is
doing OK, she will keep going to therapy. She is not sick, she only had a
nervous breakdown.
Later that night, Julieta is having a bite of
food while the rest of the family waits to see if she explodes or not (going by
their faces). She loves the food, Rosa says she won’t eat because they have
their vow renewal the next day and she needs to get into her dress. Julieta is
happy for her parents, they managed to save their marriage. Jess imprudently
mentions the divorce from Juan moving forward, Juli asks if he plans to marry
Sara. Rosa thinks they should change the subject, but Juli says she had time to
reflect and realized that she has her family, which is the most important thing
– and from now on she will live for her son.
The next day Juan tells his brothers Sara
is moving back at the ranch. Simon is like “yeah, haven’t we already covered
this three crisis ago?”
Lucas mentions Julieta being out of the
hospital, Mateo was aware because he has been keeping tabs on her for the baby.
Juan thinks that’s OK. Pedro wants to share some news, too, ever since the Cruz
episode they all think badly of him and they are probably right. And Dante is
still missing, maybe even dead. He feels so bad for the way he’s acted, but he
has to tell them how Dante forced him to do bad things: he pushed him to work
with Henry and he stupidly agreed because he wanted to prove himself to their father.
But it all ended badly, he was the one who was stealing from the company. His
brothers have been listening to him quietly, giving each other doubtful looks,
but when Pedro says this, with (well-choreographed) tears falling down his cheeks,
they all seem incredibly shocked.
Simon can’t believe that someone like Pedro,
who never allowed anyone to manipulate him, could allow Dante to push him to
the dark side. This is not what dad taught us, Mateo and Lucas add. Anything more
to confess? Juan asks. Pedro says he’s sorry, they can call the cops on him if
they want. His ambition blinded him, that’s why he was so upset when Juan
became President. And that’s why he wanted to talk to their father the day of
the accident (flashback to that day), tell him that Dante was to blame and ask
for his forgiveness. Juan is upset he didn’t trust them, how could Dante control
him like that? Pedro says Dante was a very astute manipulator. Juan asks about
Campo Verde then and Pedro has to accept that it’s his. You can almost see his
grey cells spinning as he says he formed the company when he realized that they
were starting to lose client. It was Dante’s idea, but he only did it to
protect their legacy, keep their clients and eventually merge the two
companies.
Mateo, Lucas and Simon don’t believe him,
the only one who can confirm or deny is Dante, who is conveniently missing… or
dead. Simon even thinks Pedro should pay for what he’s done. Pedro says he was
actually sacrificing himself for them and Juan knew about the fraud and forgave
him. He only hopes that Dante shows up to confess, but he will use his part of
the inheritance to mend his mistakes. And then he leaves.
At the apartment Deb is singing, obviously
in a very good mood. She looks through the box of pink letters and smiles. Sara
asks what she’s planning, Deb says she has a present for Rosa’s ridiculous vow
renewal. Sara is looking at her funny, she noticed how she’s changed since
Dante disappeared. Did he treat her badly? Deb turns on the waterworks, Dante
tormented her constantly and if Sara hadn’t noticed it, it’s because she is
selfish. Sara wants Dante’s version of the facts, too, this offends Deb, not living
together anymore is probably for the best. She has always been there for her
daughter, protecting her from everyone, but she chose her Del Monte brothers so
she can leave with them. Sara doesn’t want to fight, so Deb asks her to forget she
has a mother.
Lucas and Mateo are starting to have
doubts, but Simon is sure Pedro is guilty and Juan should accept his offer to
use his inheritance to cover some of the damage done to the company. Juan wants
to check if the information he told them about Campo Verde is true, because that
would mean that Pedro actually saved them.
Julieta arrives to talk to Juan. She
apologizes for what she has done, Juan says he already forgot all about it, she
and the baby are what matter now. Julieta wants to talk to Mateo, too, her baby
deserves a father.
They go for a walk and talk about Julieta’s
mental breakdown, which made her do stupid things. But she knows he has been
keeping tabs on her and thanks him for this. She’s holding his hand, while
saying that she became infatuated with the idea of giving her baby the wrong
type of family in order to win in her rivalry with Sara and once again asks
Mateo to forgive her. Can they hug without any resentment? They can and they do…
while Julieta thought bubbles that she’s hurting so much, she’s not ready to
tell him yet… Tell him what?
At home Juan is reading a news on his phone
about Dante still missing and Victorio Rocha’s family members are the main
suspects. He remembers the talk with Sara when they wondered if Victorio was
the one who truly wanted to hurt her. Now Juan thinks Sara was right.
At the bar it’s wedding time (Sal even
removed the “Del Monte’s not welcomed” sign for the day). Rosa is the first
bride to arrive and Julieta is giving her away. Then it’s Adela’s turn, she
arrives with Don Augustin. Sal and Adela say their I do’s without any kind of
drama happening.
Then it’s Rosa and Prospi’s turn, but Deb
crashes their vow renewal and starts reading Rosa’s letters to Sev. They are
very damaging, they mention how much Rosa misses Sev and whatnot. Deb asks if
Rosa was being unfaithful before Julieta was born, Rosa asks Prospi not to
listen to Deb. But Deb declares that Rosa was Sev’s lover and these letter are
the proof. And then she theatrically throws the letters in the air, making it
rain.
The new and improved Pedro is … not that
improved after all, because when Sara arrives in search of Juan he’s his old “charming”
self with her. He sarcastically reminds her that they almost went out (in his
dreams!), she was sleeping with Juan, who was married to Julieta, who will have
a baby with Mateo. What a family! Sara resents his treatment of her.
When she wants to walk away, Pedro grabs
her elbow, which Sara dislikes. Pedro says she has quite a character, more like
her father’s than her mother’s. Sara corrects him, it is their father,
but Pedro has a problem with this, since she is not Sev’s daughter, but Dante’s!!
Sara is impactadissssima!

I liked Julieta Baby refusing to be the consolation prize.
So, Juli was only away for a week and a couple of days or so? Well she looks as dour as ever. Is her “sanity” is an act. Poor Mateo being saddled with that. Too bad he didn’t fall for Julieta Baby.
Pedro knows how to survive like the cockroach that he is. What an act!
Interesting how Deb’s actions mirrored Pedro’s (or vice a versa) throughout the episode and both ended with a bang.
Can’t wait until tonight.
Julieta certainly recovered quickly! Maybe she is now on meds that hopefully will not harm the baby. Yeesh.
I still cannot get over Jess's newfound attitude toward Brayan and their marriage. It is like someone flipped a switch.
I'm not so sure about Rosa's newfound humility. People like her generally don't change overnight.
Too bad we didn't have a psychiatrist on The Patio. It would be interesting to have a diagnosis of Pedro's mental illness(es).
"This would be a great recapper break, but instead I’m wasting it telling you that Michelle Renaud and Matias Novoa are together in real life." Well, LOL!. She also got together with her male lead in Hijas de la Luna, so this might be her norm.
I particularly enjoyed your comments on Pedro with a “devilish smirk on his face” and “The next day Juan tells his brothers Sara is moving back at the ranch. Simon is like “yeah, haven’t we already covered this three crisis ago?” which made me smile.
Juli’s recovery is quite miraculous. And completely unbelievable.
And there is no low road Deb won’t take…I admit, I felt a smidge of pity for Rosa.
Pedro is revealing himself for who he really is. Pay attention boys. Pedro reveals who Sara really is. Pay attention Deb.
I feel this will spiral downward even more if possible.
Doris, most of tonight’s events were as though “someone flipped a switch”. Exactly!
Adriana, so well written - I hung on every wise word. Thank you!
Diana
And Mateo? You can't fix stupid.

Juli Stepford is not cured. Not after a week. There is something bigger to come. Also, who knows what side effects Rx anti-depressants could have on a pregnant woman and her fetus? [Had to get that from a British site; WebMD had nothing about this.]
Two episodes ago Deborah pulled a fake Maternal Sacrifice card on Sara. What has she actually sacrificed? Nothing. She has been getting her jollies fleecing men and fooling others. She is a true psychopath and what she did in this episode is more than adequate proof. Someone should at least get rid of all the brooms so she can't escape punishment. I actually hope that Pedro does her in a scene or two before his own Karmageddon.
Whatever Severiano paid her in child support for Sara I'm sure she has most of it stashed away somewhere against that escape.
More later.
In the previous episode Pedro was listening at the door when Juan was telling the brothers all about Pedro’s transgressions, so Pedro’s confession was just so they’d think he was sorry. I’m pretty sure the brothers don’t realize that Pedro knows they already knew! If that sentence makes sense.
Deb delights in destroying others, even her own daughter. I’m really surprised she didn’t go through with the tea to end the pregnancy. She wanted Sara with Pedro and not Juan. And to destroy a ceremony and take delight in it! A bullet would be too kind of an ending for her. She’s worse than Dante in terms of cruelty to others. (Dante kills, but quickly)
I agree that Juli is not cured. She can still cause a lot of harm. I sure hope Mateo doesn’t end up with her.
Modesto’s silly hints about Pedro are driving me mad! Why doesn’t he just tell Juan what he saw! Dante didn’t have to die, and who knows who the next victim might be!
Liz
I have to run , but I wanted to thank you for the time, talent, and effort that you devoted to bringing us your amazing , insightful, funny recaps . I enjoyed this fun ride with you , amiga.
Juli is not cured!!! No way no how don’t buy that for a second!!!! She is subduing all that crazy and bidding her time. I only wonder what the plan is. Mateo is an idiot!
Sara and Juan have a plan??? Lmao
Speaking of, ‘Michelle Renaud and Matias Novoa are together in real life’, are they? I heard that rumor but I thought they both denied it?
Modesto approaches Juan to say things would be easier if everyone were honest and spoke the truth (So rich coming from you! I have no words!)
Yeah, old man [Moesto], keep talking in riddles!
Impactadissssima!
Liz, with you about Pedro eavesdropping earlier on the brothers. That was when Paloma headed to her room when she saw Pedro coming. I wondered at the time if this would amount to anything, like maybe she’d tell Simón he was around during their meeting and someone would realize he'd overheard them.
Dang if I don’t feel sorry for Rosa! After Julieta’s breakdown, Deb raining those letters at the vow renewal is so cruel.
I’m glad Augustín had already spilled the beans to Simón about Rosa.
ITA Julieta is not cured yet. What could she have up her sleeve though?
Juan, let Viewerville in on your plan because you are looking right stupid even considering letting Pedro back in. I give Mateo and Lucas a break because they don’t know everything about Pedro that you do.
Someone should at least get rid of all the brooms so she [Deb] can’t escape punishment.
Urban, lol!
Gold-Digger Debbie exposed Buji Rosa's dirty little secrets in front of everyone. Big question is whether Prospero will forgive his wife ?
Jarifa: Psycho Pedro threatening Goldie Locks Sara AGAIN OMG!
Niecie: Keeping my fingers crossed they find the bodies of Aurora & Dante the Looter soon.
Steve Boudreaux
Hmmmm.....what isnt Juli ready to tell Mateo ?..hey, at this point, let's just call him Mat ...Doormat. ..as he again allows Jul to walk all over him.
I miss Pedro's jewelry accessories.
I've never understood why people love tarnishing their body (Juan) with hideous tattoos. Just my opinion. When my daughter was young, and we were coming home from the beach, we stopped at a roadside restaurant. There was an older woman with very flabby skin, and she had tattoos that were sagging all the way down her arms and thighs. My daughter freaked out and, and swore there and then she'd never ever get a tattoo and grow old like that.
