La herencia #75 Monday "Fathers and daughters "

This episode has been written out of order, scenes have been combined or switched...

The WTF Edition

Juli comes to see Mateo at the ranch, to talk about her parents’ failed vow renewal. Mateo feels bad because Rosa is not the only one to blame, Sev had his part in the affair, too. And Juli says she herslef acted no better, so she can’t judge her mother. If she could only turn back time… she should have never rejected Mateo, they should have been together all along. Mateo asks if she is being serious, is this a game for her? Juli knows she’s done horrible things, but she never wants to be away from him again. They hug and cry. (The Patio does some crying too, from all the hair pulling and beanie tightening)

Mateo wants Julieta to move back into the ranch (is he drinking again?), Juli is afraid of Sara’s reaction. Mateo says he has rights, too, and their child will be an heir. Juli is sick of hearing about this inheritance that has caused so much pain; she couldn’t understand when he first gave up his money, but she gets it now. Mateo promises to take care of her no matter what… Juli asks him to feel the baby and Mateo speaks to his child.

Then Juli apologizes again for all the pain she’s caused. Mateo says that he can’t love her more than he loves himself (that’s not what I’m seeing). Juli admits that she was obsessed with Juan, couldn’t see that Mateo was willing to give her everything. Mateo explains that when they first met he had very low self-esteem, but even then he knew that her love for him was real and she will one day see it. Julieta says she finally understands that Sev’s only legacy was love. Would Mateo marry her?

The bad seed…

Bea scolds Tadeo for acting like a brat and Corni assures him that he will always love him no matter what. Bea insists her son apologize, can’t understand how Tadeo can forget all those years spent together. Tadeo says perdon, but calls Corni by his name! What a mess!

Once alone, Tadeo calls Pedro to tell him that Corni and Bea are together. Pedro has given him a phone that he has to keep hidden. And soon he will come to live with him. Just patience.

Later at the kindergarten, Brandon is announcing the contest winners. When another boy wins first prize for the robot contest, Tadeo ruins the boy’s robot, because he was supposed to win. He is the best, he has to always be number one, as his father, Pedro.

When Bryan and Bea storm into his office to talk about Tadeo becoming a brat, destroying the robot. Pedro thinks Tadeo did the right thing! Bea says he’s the worst father, Tadeo wasn’t like this before, he changed ever since he started to spend time with him. She can’t wait for the custody resolution, so that Tadeo never has to be around Pedro for another minute. Pedro laughs sarcastically, she could never win against him, the owners never win against the slaves. Tadeo will be the Santa Catalina king and they can just get out!

Later Pedro takes Tadeo in his office to congratulate him for the stunt he pulled in daycare – the world belongs to the winners. Tadeo is relieved, he had the best robot, he should have won, the other boy surely cheated. They high five, Pedro will never punish him, he can do no wrong and he will be the only heir to his Abuelo Severiano’s fortune.

… and the avocado that seed came from

A woman arrives at Sal’s to ask about Bea and Paloma, she wants them to sing in her restaurant. She leaves a card with Sal.

Corni tells Sal and Adela that he’s afraid Tadeo stopped loving him, he even wants to go stay with Pedro. Everyone now living at the Bar try to encourage him. Deb arrives to talk to Corni, Adela gets into a fight with her. Deb says she has something they can use against Pedro. Corni doesn’t trust her, Deb says Pedro can use his money to get Tadeo, Paloma doesn’t know who she’d dealing with. They need something strong against Pedro, he’s a killer, he killed Dante! Corni doesn’t want or need her help… Deb mentions Henry and how Pedro plotted with him to kill Sara and then Pedro killed Henry, too… Modesto leaves as he hears this.

Deb is saying all this very valuable information, while she insults each and every one of the people in front of her, so of course her plea to go get Pedro doesn’t go very well.

As soon as Deb leaves, Corni wants to go confront Pedro, but Adela and Sal warn him he can’t do anything without proof, he’d only put Pedro on guard. Bryan arrives and Sal asks for details about the torture he suffered, because those details could help send Pedro to jail. Bryan agrees to tell them… remembers what Pedro did to him (unfortunately the Patio is not spared from having to watch again). Adela hugs Bryan, Pedro is an animal!

Later Sal notices that Modesto is not looking that great, Modesto admits he feels very bad because he doesn’t have the guts to talk to Juan. Sal says he does believe Deb when she says Pedro is a killer… Modesto remembers Pedro burying Aurora…says Sev had noticed that Pedro was evil even as a child, but it’s time he started paying for all that he’s done.

Sister Act

At the company Sara tells Juan that she won’t go back to the ranch or work at the company anymore. She feels very confused… Juan asks her to be honest, so Sara adds that she fought with her mother… remembers Pedro’s threat and tells Juan that Severiano did help by sending them money. Modesto had mentioned it but Deb always lied about it. Sara threw her out of the house. She always thought that Sev didn’t love her… Juan thinks she should come live at the ranch, she needs their support. Sara says OK, but she needs a few days to order her thoughts…

Juan asks what about them? Sara says it doesn’t matter if they don’t live together for now, they still love one another. She asks about Dante and Juan says that they said in the news that Dante was working with Victoriano and Henry. And he is most likely dead. Sara is impactada, tries to hide it by saying she has many questions for him. Juan knows Dante has always been in her life and Sara remembers how Dante never missed a birthday, her graduation day… she couldn’t understand it first, but she has to tell him something…

But… they are interrupted by Simon and Lucas barging in, saying that there are some people at Refugios Santa Catalina, working the land. Juan thinks this is Aurora’s doing, Simon and Lucas are upset Juan left Aurora his part of the Refugio for Pedro’s sake, they’re tired of him always defending Pedro.

Sara tries to defend Juan, but Simon and Lucas have had it, Pedro is manipulating Juan by using their childhood trauma. Juan says he would do the same for them, too, it’s not easy to throw your brother in jail. Lucas gets notice that more people have arrived at the Refugio and they all want to run over there, but Pedro stops them, by showing up at the door. Mateo is not very far behind.

Pedro spots Sara and is surprised she came to work after everything that Deb has done to Rosa. Sara is not aware of the last scandal, Lucas promises to tell her all about it later. Juan asks if he was aware of what Aurora is doing at the Refugio, Pedro plays surprised, says he finally managed to accept and call Aurora his mother. Simon asks how long has he been stealing from them, Pedro says he started around the same time when he became traumatized by something as ridiculous as their father being unfaithful. Simon slaps Pedro (and it’s a great slap)!

Pedro says neither of them deserves the Del Monte name, Lucas protests by saying they are more united than ever, even Sara has become part of the family. This makes Pedro laugh, Sara is surely the most sincere of them all. Juan tries to stop Pedro, Sara IS part of their family! Her back against the wall, Sara has no other choice but to confess, she is not part of the family because she is not Sev’s daughter!

The brothers don’t understand, Simon calls her a liar, Lucas begs her to say this isn’t true! Sara asks them to let her explain, but Pedro says he found out recently that Sara and Deb lied to them all. Sara says she didn’t know, Juan asks when she found out. Sara says Pedro just told her and she needed time to put her thoughts in order. She never lied to them, she feels as much pain as they do. She looks at Pedro’s smirk and gets mad, tells the brothers that Pedro tried to blackmail her, he threatened to kill her son and all of them if she didn’t leave Santa Catalina. He is a coward!

Juan asks Pedro if he dared to do that. Pedro says this is just another lie, but he doesn’t feel like trying to convince his brother, he doesn’t care anymore. Sara insists she grew up thinking she was Sev’s daughter, they can hate her but she is the one losing the most. Pedro thinks she’s talking about the money, but Sara means her family. They all look very upset.

Later Juan and Sara are alone, and Juan is very sympathetic with Sara. She feels completely alone, doesn’t know who she is anymore. Juan thinks she can write her own story from now on, Sara says she was afraid of his reaction and that she is going to lose him. Juan hugs her, Deb is the only one to blame.

The other brothers are with Pedro, who is trying to further spin his story about Sara being a liar and a manipulator. Lucas doesn’t believe Pedro after all his lies, especially after threatening to kill Sara’s baby. Pedro is shocked they’d still believe in her! Sure, that innocent face won them over, but she is just as guilty as her mother. Simon points out that he should be more upset with Deb than Sara, but Pedro says Deb never hid her true character. Mateo points out that Pedro has been hiding his true character, too, and Simon adds that while Deb is a trepadora, Sara is anything but. Pedro is only upset because Sara never gave him the time of day. And the only thief here is him. When he sees that his three brothers are against him, Pedro calls them all a bunch of traitors, who are allowing Sara and her mother to fool them. Before he can leave, Simon tells him that he is just like Deb, careful not to do the same mistakes. Pedro says Deb will be the last of their worries soon enough and calls Simon a pshico-loco, just like Deb loves to do.

Alone in his office, Pedro is pissed he couldn’t turn his brothers against Sara. Now more than ever he will take everything from them.

The true heiress

Bertha is shocked to see Rosa’s new hair. Rosa feels very bad, she lost all her family. Bertha thinks all is not lost, but Rosa says she should have said the truth a long time ago. Bertha encourages her to fight for Prospi and there he is, at the door. Rosa is happy to see him, she wants to become the woman she once was… But it’s too late for him, he wants a divorce!

Rosa says she won’t fight his petition, but she does love him. She knows it was her fault, she destroyed their family and his love for her. She can’t turn back time… she never loved Sev, only him, even if he doesn’t believe her. Prospi just leaves and Rosa cries.

Juli gets home from her reconciliation with Mateo (aka the moment we’ve all been dreading) and Rosa starts apologizing to her again, but Juli would like to talk about the letters… Is that document that she found with the letters true? Is the DNA test for real? Rosa doesn’t have another option but to admit to her daughter that she is Severiano’s daughter.

Some workers tell Alondra the dogs have been very restless for the last few days, they get like this every time they go near the bodegon…

Alondra goes to check the place and notices the dirt has been dug and the smell is unbearable.

Mommy and daddy dearest

Juan and Sara come to visit Deb in the blue room. Deb is happy to see her daughter, but Sara tells her that the brothers know everything. Juan can’t believe she would say such a lie. Deb says she was a victim, too, of Dante’s psychological manipulation, he even threatened to kill her Saris. Juan says Simon and Pedro will definitely want to sue her. Deb continues her routine, saying she will pay if someone has to pay, but in all honesty Sara should be the one to end up in jail, because she was the one to assume a fake identity. Sara can barely listen to all of this, reminds her mother she was the one who lied to everyone. Deb mentions Dante again, Juan says he will have to pay, too, Deb says she’s sure Pedro killed him.

Juan defends Pedro, Deb calls his love for his brother sick, since he can’t see he’s a monster. Sara thinks she has bigger worries because the Del Monte brothers won’t let this go. Deb insists she wasn’t going to use the inheritance, everything was supposed to be for Sara. Sara thinks she had something to do with Dante’s disappearance, she is so sorry to have her as a mother. Juan and Sara leave, Deb is left crying.

Sara and Juan get back to the company and join the brothers to the conference room. Juan tells them Deb denies everything, swears Dante made her do it. He reaffirms that Sara didn’t know the truth, she is another victim. Sara says she knows her mother will never apologize, but she will, this is hurting her so much, especially since she still sees them as brothers. She knows she has no rights, she even feels a sort of liberation, but she’d like to continue working for the company if they allow her. Lucas, Mateo and Simon all agree that Sara has done good work, she deserves to keep her job. Pedro, who has been sarcastic all along, has another Ace up his sleeve: has Sara mentioned who her real father is? Dante himself! Caras impactadas all around, although I don’t see how this can be worse than what they already found out.

The “WTF edition” could not have been described better and your recap captured it all wonderfully. You made this frustrating episode so much betterl. Thank you for making this wintery windy morning so much more pleasant with your recap.

“ Simón slapped Pedro and it was a great slap.” Yes, it was! Too bad they pulled the brothers apart. Simón might have given Pedro a good pummeling. I also liked that Simón is ready to go to police about Pedro. I think this has been the only time I have ever said anything good about Simón.

Tadeo became a “bad seed” (again an excellent description) so quickly. And now he has a cell phone to stay in contact with daddy dearest.

Rosa’s blonde wig made her look goofy. It was smart styling presenting her sans wig now that she is repentant. I still think that Prospi is nuts divorcing her over Severiano. He acts so morally superior. What was good for the goose was good for the gander. Cheating is cheating.

Finally, Sara tells them about Pedro’s threats. It took her long enough.

I am tired of Juan acting/looking surprised/angry about Pedro’s threats/actions and also protecting him from the the brothers. His “protecting Pedro” as he would “ any of his brothers” act is so so old it has become stupid.

Dogs and Alondra are out there sniffing. I cannot wait for the shovels to come out!

Thank you Adriana, for yet another snark-filled entertaining recap.

WTF Edition, indeed. (lol) Juli seemed very sincere and .... normal(!). I'm waiting with bated breath for her to have another BSC meltdown.

Tadeo will need some serious therapy by the time this telenovela ends.

None of Rosa's family (except Bertha) seem surprised to see her without her wig. Rosa is 100 times more attractive as a brunette. That blonde hair was not right for her skin tones. (neither is Sara's, but I digress...)

If I had one dollar for every time Sara puts her hands over her belly, I could take a very nice trip and fly in first class. ~rolls eyes~

Speaking of eye-rolling, Sara cracked me up when she rolled her eyes at her mother's stream of lies (in the Blue Room).

Is anyone else wayyy over Pero's exaggerated applause thing? Whenever he gets his anvil, and he better(!), I really want some other character to do that slow loud hand-clap. I might even do it while watching. Maybe group Patio applause moment?

Poor Debs, nobody in that cantina believed the pathological liar re: Pedro. I kept thinking of that old story, The Boy Who Cried 'Wolf". When he finally told the truth, nobody believed him.

Well, at least Alondra noticed the smell. Finally, something! Pedro dug those graves fairly deep. Seems like there should not be a smell, or the dogs, coyotes, or other wildlife would have dug them up by now. Beanie hat time.

"I am tired of Juan acting/looking surprised/angry about Pedro’s threats/actions and also protecting him from the the brothers. His “protecting Pedro” as he would “ any of his brothers” act is so so old it has become stupid.
Jarifa, IMO Juan is the poster child for "stupid is as stupid does." He wears that cara de bobo all to often. He could be shown the graves and hidden video of Pedro in the act, and he'd still say "but I promised our Dad to protect Pedro!"
# anti-galan

Thanks, Adriana, I enjoyed the recap.

The worse thing was how awful Tadeo has become. Pedro wants a psycho son. Scary!

Deb continues her lies, I imagine she’ll lie to the bitter end.

Modesto will lose his grandson if he doesn’t say something. He is the key to ending this nightmare!

Why did Deb say Pedro killed Dante. She has no proof, and isn’t even aware of what happened. Last week she accused Dante of trying to kill her. I guess she’s just trying to stir things up, something she loves to do!

Well, looks like the bodies will soon be discovered! I hope Alondra tells Juan, who will then call the police. Ha, if only!

Liz

Adriana: Thank you very much for the recap of last night's episode. Full in-depth analysis non-stop 😉

Jarifa: With 5 episodes left, Psycho Pedro will up the ante even further against Goldie Locks Sara. Doubling-down on Goldie Locks Sara losing the baby in some accident.

Diana: Gold-Digger Debbie will be doubling-down on lying, scheming & Gold-Digging 24/7.

Doris: Now that Alondra is figuring out the awful smell with the fresh dirt. Only a matter of time before we see the gruesome discoveries of Dante the Looter & Uppity Aurora.

Can’t believe I forgot to comment on Juli! I’m sure she was just messing with Mateo! She doesn’t need him as now she’s the true Lady of the Manor! And her child will be an heir! Which is what Rosa wanted all along! I wonder if and when she’ll decide to put herself in charge. And will her trying to kill Sara’s baby come out? And I still think she tried to poison Deb. Hope everyone sees the real Juli!

Cher Adriana, merci for another great recap as the writers try to bring this saga to a conclusion.

Loved " WTF edition. " perfecto!

When I saw the dark haired woman sitting with Bertha, I wondered who she was because I forgot that Rosa removed her blonde helmet in a fit of despair over it all hitting the fan on Friday's episode.

Tadeo morphed into Pedro Jr pretty abruptly . Yikes. He will have to be deprogrammed asap.

We got a bit of comic relief (?) With Augie and Sal and the women who wants that dynamic singing duo to sing at her restaurant .

When Juan and Sara left Deb's room , and Deb collapsed on her bed, her hat fell off. #symbolism

What is Juli's game? Are we to buy that she has turned good as quickly as Tadeo turned evil?

OT - the telenovela gods (or maybe just Looneyvision) have gifted me with Unimás putting -Papa a Toda Madre- on in the afternoons. It started yesterday. That was a fun telenovela and where I will be parked when Herencia ends.

Thank you Adriana, for another excellent recap! Your recap was undoubtedly better than the actual episode!!

I agree Rosa looks better with her natural hair!

Pedro calling Simon psycholoco made me laugh as did is comment about Simon being as traumatized by something so stupid as their father's affairs, it was mean but it was true....

Jarifa, it certainly felt like Sara FINALLY told the brothers about Pedro's threats but in the actual time line of the show she only kept that secret overnight - it was the afternoon before that Pedro threatened her. Considering the life altering aspect of the revelation I am impressed she came clean so quickly although I am sure she thought Pedro would do it for her if she didn't.

That Deb could even suggest Sara should be the one to go to jail!?! So horrible!! I have the strongest suspicion that Deb is going to evade her anvil and she better not!!! She deserves to rot in prison.

Tadeo is getting scary!

OT

doris, at least you found something you like. Suddenly, I have too much to watch with La Reina del Sur, La Madrastra and Vencer la ausencia. First there was almost nothing except for this, and now too much. What to do? I have never been in this situation before. : O

Darcy, it always drives me crazy in these novelas where there are life changing revelations or threats and nobody gets on the phone and informs everyone who needs to know ASAP. Oh, yeah, they always have to tell everyone IN PERSON even when lives are at stake. That info that Sara had should not have been kept a secret even over night. If everybody told everyone everything Pedro was doing from the get go, he would not be the threat he is and . . . we would never have had this novela! LOL

Gracias, Adriana. Great work as we race to the finish line.

I totally agree that Deborah will lie like a rug until the end. I don't think she has ever uttered a word of truth in her entire life.

Here is hoping that Tadeo isn't made into a true Bad Seed before el fin.

What Juli Stepford does now depends on a couple of things. If she has a medical secret -- like the brain tumor that's been speculated about -- she will not have the time or the energy to fight to take the entire fortune. Is she even sufficiently aware of Pedro's escalating madness and vicious streak? I'm not sure about that. She has been too focused on her hatred of Sara to have noticed much else. If she were to initiate a lawsuit to challenge Severiano's will that could be in court for years and possibly destroy Avocados R Us in the process. Since the company office is in the nearest Big City I am surprised that the local press hasn't hounded them like the predatory paparazzi in Ricos has been doing to the Salvatierra family.

Since Deborah and Dante had not attempted to prove that Severiano's adoption of the boys was illegal, that doesn't sound like an option. Everything we have seen in the flashbacks indicates that Severiano sincerely believed that Sara was his child so her status as heiress is legitimate. We don't know whether Sev knew that he had sired Juli. If he knew wouldn't he have been behind the idea of Juan marrying her? We saw him more than once telling Juan to marry for true love and not because it would work out "at this time."

It looks like at least one of the dead will shortly be found. The ME's office will need to do a thorough job on the autopsies.

Finally, Deborah's comment that Sara would be the one to go to prison is beyond disgusting. That is proof in my book that she doesn't care about her at all.

More later.

Lol Jarifa I get it from the everyone needs to know about Pedro standpoint but from the 'the man I thought was my father my whole life isn't and the brothers I have been trying to win over aren't my brothers, and omg I have to tell the five angry men who accused me of being a liar and gold digger only out for an inheritance....that all of this is a lie???' Then you add the whole extra element of being in love with one of them and pregnant with his baby. Juan hasn't always reacted with faith in Sara or supported her, I can understand needing to process this information overnight before spilling. Honestly I don't think I could run straight to the phone to deliver that news.

Speaking of funny, at the end Pedro asking where should we erect the statue for Saint Deb? Is here good? Lmao!!

And Simon's vote for Sara being just a stumble thumbs up was cute.

Adriana, from “The bad seed… “to “… and the avocado that seed came from” your well written, engrossing recap captured all of the action perfectly. This was amazing.

Perhaps I’m in the minority, but I thought that Juan has been steadfast in his support of the woman he loves, especially as her world has imploded. “Later Juan and Sara are alone, and Juan is very sympathetic with Sara”. He has never denied his perceived truth about Pedro. But his knowledge is limited as there is a huge chasm between being a thief and a cold-blooded murderer. He knows the former but not the latter.

Modesto’s silence is unfathomable.

While the Del Montes are shattered, at the core, there is a strong sense of loyalty among most of the brothers. There is no doubt they will survive. But, there is no such assumption to be made for Prospi and Rosa’s family. Nor for Bea, Cornelio and Tadeo. How will these broken families heal?

“Deb continues her routine, saying she will pay if someone has to pay, but in all honesty Sara should be the one to end up in jail, because she was the one to assume a fake identity”. Judas continues to sell her soul for dinero.

Excellent comments today. Gracias Adriana.

Diana

IMHO this show has sort of run off the rails. LOL

OT

La Madrastra...I watched the Salvador Majía version of that and he made it a complete circus, but fun. I've had enough dark drama with Herencia that I need a no-brained palate cleanser, so PATM it is for moi. Plus, it has Bertha and Modesto in this one, and Rullí doing comedy. :-)

Hello there.

I recently discovered caray caray and have been silently enjoying all these wonderful recaps by equally wonderful recappers.

I feel like this novela had a lot of recipe to be a hit in Mexico, but it's average success over there isn't very surprising. I lost trust in their judgement when Paskon Y Poder flopped over there.

OT

Regarding future novelas, Reina doesnt appeal to me , but I might drop in to check it out.

I am interested in Vencer because I saw several familiar faces .

I watched the first episode of " Madrastra" last night . Although there were several familiar faces ( including Modesto as a priest with dark hair and eyebrows !!!), It was pretty bizarre and over the top dramatic . QTH.

Diana, I think the writers are setting up Corny for redemption and Bea and Corny helping Tadeo after Pedro's awful influence on him.

The writers will balance the anvils given out to the wicked with some HEAs ....Lucas and Alondra, Brayan and Jess (!?ugh) , Sal and Adela, Juan and Sara, Simon and Pal, Modesto and Bertha. Maybe even Prospi and brunette Rosa , who has learned a harsh lesson = blondes don't necessarily have more fun if they are social climbing harpies. Mateo , the doormat , seems to have forgiven quixotic Juli, but something is happening there that doesn't seem happy.

Pedro is a dead duck, and Deb must get some kind of anvil. She has been too consistently and joyishly nasty to everyone in The vicinity ...pure trouble in a hat. Dante got a huge anvil ..death by torture by his partner in crime . Aurora died by the hands of the son she tortured. Karma.

" = blondes don't necessarily have more fun if they are social climbing harpies" made me smile Susanna!

And you are right, Mateo does not seem happy. I don't see he and Juli being happy together, I actually have thought more than once she will not make it through all of this. If she does die, (pure speculation), that might be the tragic catalyst that brings Prospi and Rosa together.

I am so looking forward to Vencer and the return of David Zepeda (I never thought I would say that but, well, things change!)

Diana

Diana, you and me both about “Vencer la ausencia” and David Zepeda. I always liked him but he never was a major draw for me but now he is.

Diana and Jarifa, I didn't join you guys on the ride of the first Vencer, but I watched the second and will be with you for the next one. Yay ! These shows offer a welcome respite from real life stuff .

Darcy: Televisa better NOT bring this train-wreck for a 2nd Season because if Tadeo's evilness escalates.....

Steve Boudreaux

Great recaps everyone, thank you for stopping by.

Jarifa, I think Tadeo became a "bad seed" just as fast as Julieta became a repentive mother to be. I get that Mateo wants to believe her, but that one week treatment must have been magical, for her to have such a personality transplant.

Doris, I'd hope that at least Prospi has seen Rosa without her wig before, you know, in the throes of passion LOL. Rosa is another one who we can't recognize anymore, I have to admit she was more entertaining when she was a snob than now when she's best pals with Adela and Sal, people who shouldn't even want to speak to her in the first place.

Liz, Modesto keeping silent is mind boggling. He might not be aware of Pedro's extreme influence on Tadeo, but Corni did say that the boy rejects him. If Pedro were to somehow get away with everything and raise Tadeo, can you imagine the damage he could do!!

Darcy, most of Pedro's expressions make me laugh out loud, but I try to ignore them because the other characters are so serious and dramatic. Pedro gets to have all the fun. Daniel Elbittar said in an interview that playing such a deranged character, but having to make all these funny faces all the time was great, I take it as kind of like a wink to the audinece, because we have the same expressions as he does most of the time. Pedro does look more and more like Deb, all that he's missing is calling his brothers the "adoptados" and proclaiming that his son, Tadeo, is the only rightful heir.

Diana, I'm still waiting for Juli to say that she has some terminal desease, after she thought bubbled the other day that she has to tell Mateo something. At least she's not plotting to kill her own baby anymore.

OT
I never got into the Vencer franchise, but I used to like David Zepeda back in the day. Now, not so much, but I like him better than Gabriel Soto, who started filming a new novela with Suzana Gonzales... I read the synopsis, and I'm looking forward to it, actually.

Thanks, Adriana. Super job.

Julieta says she finally understands that Sev’s only legacy was love.

What the hell is that mumbo-jumbo? I vote Julieta isn't sincere. Why is she ensnaring poor Mateo again? Just let Mateo be and demand her rights as Sev’s daughter. But, nope, she must have someone worshipping her.

Everyone now living at the Bar try to encourage him [Cornelio].

Teeheehee! I can't even remember who’s all living at the Bar now.

I've got to hand it to Deb. She’s like the Unsinkable Molly Brown. You can’t keep this crafty girl down. She will align with whomever will do her bidding.

Yay, Simón! He stuck with Sara against Pedro’s lies. I loved how he wordlessly raised a thumb of approval for Sara, to Pedro’s disdain.

But in all honesty Sara should be the one to end up in jail, because she was the one to assume a fake identity

Deb is always good for a laugh. Even at Sara's expense!

Sara's outfit showed Sev not being her dad has rocked her to the core. She wore a white business suit, though I thought I saw some bare midriff, instead of a baby undershirt [thanks, Adriana].

So stupid of Pedro to teach Tadeo to "act" like he's the best, rather than work to be the best. Pedro's also got some nerve dissing Simón for being a crybaby about Sev's cheating (though it's actually about Catalina's torment) when Pedro himself is boohooing to Juan about how young Juan promised to always protect and take care of him. Basta, that promise ended when you turned 18, fool!

Doris, ITA about Pedro's applause thing.

I think that Augie is the one person whose life has improved amidst all the fighting and turmoil. He seems to enjoy being at the bar at the center of all the unfolding drama plus the easy access to all that liquor . No more avocados to worry about . Win win.
