Reposting what I put up late Wednesday.
I am so tired of these people. The one I can't stand to even see anymore is Gonul. That smug, overly lip sticked face sends me around the bend. She's right about Volkan and his sneaky dealings with the Goclu money, but I hate her so much I'm almost rooting for Volkan!
Asya is actually promising Volkan they'll be together again (sexually and otherwise) after he divorces Derin. A bit of a spoke was put in her wheel when Ali saw them kissing. The kid is totally messed up now. And Derin seems to have successfully buttered him back up and brought him home from school.
She saw the necklace that Asya deliberately had her see. The writers pulled our chains by having her go, trembling, to the new guy that Volkan is so jealous of. But it was a red herring. Later in the show she's back "making her marriage work".
I am failing to understand Volkan's financial manipulations. I thought he was hiding everything from Derin and her family in order to have a nest egg for his new life (he thinks) with Asya. But he took Derin along when he bought a house. She's all in with his schemes. But there's more to it than that. And Gonul has some guy researching all of Volkan's latest purchases, the ones he told Gonul were only temporarily in his name until he can transfer them to the company (riiiight).
And somehow Gonul is completely over everything that happened with Selcuk and wants him to "learn the business" from Volkan.
I think there were some cuts. One moment Volkan is telling himself he won't fall for Asya's tricks any more, and the next he's at her house where she's staged a robbery to get him there...or something.
More crazy happenings. The awful gossip Cavidan told Derin at Selcuk's restaurant that the house she thought she and Volkan owned was put into Ali's name. Who does that? They have made this Cavidan cornier and more ridiculous than the Keystone Cops.
They went with showing things in an incomplete manner and then using their tried-and-true flashbacks to show what happened. Derin went nuts and drove to Asya's to rave about the house being in Ali's name. We're left hanging and later see Asya's phone on the ground beside her car.
Asya told Ali they were taking a no-phones holiday to get away from it all. And everyone, especially Volkan, was thinking Derin had harmed them. Of course, Asya recorded Derin's threats to kill her and played them for Volkan when she and Ali returned home. Asya said she was going to the police to report the threats.
Derin keeps bursting into that random guy, whose name I can never remember because she never addresses him by it. She smashed a bunch of glass objects in his house, and the sucker let her in when she showed up again.
Looks like Aras is well out of this mess.
Yay! Only one more night - 2 hours- of this! Derin is quite unbalanced. I don't know why Oner (?) has any interest in her, other than to see her put in a manicomio pronto!
Gonul, still blaming everyone else for her family's problems. Such a bitter viper! I hope the son turns out better than Derin.
What is that Asya wanted to tell Volkan in the hospital? Did I miss it?
Finally, poor Ali had been through so much. Hope those video games he's
hooked on allow him some respite from the mess.
Beth S
Thanks for the continuing comments, novelera.
Cavidan has no filter and she’s been a real sh!t stirrer throughout. ITA about Onur Beth S, what does he see in Deli (Crazy) Derin? Loved it when he told Gonul that Derin desperately needs professional help. Also liked Derya telling Asya to cut the revenge crap. It is hard for me to root for anyone in this mess.
Beth S, you didn't miss anything in the Asya - Volkan hospital scene. I checked the original. Maybe it will be revealed in the final or maybe they will cut it.
When I've checked back to the original, there were big edits. Not that I care so much. I’m glad this is ending on Monday. I’m just hanging in to see where the anvils fall.
Yes, we are waiting for this mess to conclude. They do sort of have me guessing. I was REALLY disappointed when Asya showed she's not all that healthy a person and dumped Aras. Others have mentioned that his outbursts were the reason. But those outbursts were in defense of women close to him: one of them his mother, who had her husband burned up by Haluk and the others were against Volkan's manipulations and Selcuk's crazy behavior.
Speaking of Selcuk, what's going on with him doesn't make much sense. It DID make sense that Haluk was guilty enough to set him up with that restaurant. What doesn't make sense is how Gonul and Derin suddenly became so fond of him and now consider him a member of their family.
So last night Asya decides to get further under Derin's skin. She actually shows up at a family dinner with an apple pie. She has been pressuring Volkan to divorce Derin, probably so she can dump him as soon as he does so. Then Derin goes totally nuts and inadvertently stabs Volkan. It looked as if it was a stab to the heart, and I wondered if she'd really killed him
And, yes, why in the world does Onur put up with Derin's using him that way. We saw his disappointed face last night when he'd pulled some strings as her lawyer. The first thing she did was insist on going to Volkan's bedside.
I did enjoy the scene where Volkan pretty much told her to get lost from his hospital bed. And Gonul...pfft! She keeps moving heaven and earth to extract Derin from her own folly. I vividly remember that scene where she hissed at Asya for the "paralyzing" of her little baby girl. Asya, being the stone face she so often is, should have hissed right back. "I really regret diving back and freeing her. My life would have been SO much easier if I'd swum to safety and left her trapped in her seatbelt."
I have no idea how they're going to wind this up on Monday. It wouldn't surprise me to see Asya take Volkan back after all that's happened.
Novelera, thanks for keeping up with this strange show. Time to say goodbye and hope for a better dizi in the future.
