What an episode!!! What can I say??? Plenty. In order to do it justice, the recap will be up tomorrow some time. The recaps for the last two episodes will also be posted the next day.
 

VIDA - #24 - Part 1/2

VIDA - #24

Here are the highlights. Please add anything overlooked. A lot happened in this episode. It's a two-pager! Also, plz ignore typos.

PEPE & MAL - the doc mentions MAL’s bleeding, so apparently she was not faking. Pepe tells the doc that he is the father. (darn!)
- Pepe reminds MAL that they won’t be a family. He can pretend he’s the baby’s father, but he won’t get back together with her. She batters him with promises and how much she loves him. Teo walk in and is happy his parents love each other and are together. If he only knew….he clearly did not/could not hear their conversation. They tell Teo he’s going to have a little sibling.
- Later, Pepe visits Isa to tell her MAL is okay and put on bedrest. He tells her that he is claiming the baby as his. Isabella tells him to think this through.

PEPE & RAFA – Pepe asked Rafa why he told MAL about him (Pepe) and Paula spending the night together. He is muy upset. Rafa says MAL asked if there was something going on between them and he was not going to lie. Rafa tries to justify that by pointing out that if Malena knows, maybe she’ll quit trying to get back together with Pepe. Rafa fails to tell Pepe he wants them to break up so he can have MAL to himself and that he’s the father of that baby.

ALEX & ISA discuss Malena’s pregnancy He asks if she knows who the father is. Isa has no idea but says there’s no way it’s Pepe’s. Andrea is eavesdropping and she got an earful.
Later, Isa visits Alex and tells him its not necessary for him to stay at Mal’s place and asks him to return home. Alex tells her he can see in her eyes what she feels for Lorenzo. He is giving her time and space to sort out her feelings.

LUCIA lets RAfa knows she thinks MAL’s baby is his.

ANDREA was a busy girl tonight. She confronted Gracia about the pregnancy test she bought and asks who is the father of MAL’s baby. Later, she visits Pascual, asks him about his visit to MAL’s, tells him there was a camera recording everything. He says he went over there because Rafa told him they were separated and that MAL was “available.” He tells her he was there only five minutes and nothing happened.
 

VIDA - #24 Part 2/2

PAULEPE – (thank you Bree!) Paula goes to see Pepe and tells him she told Rolando that she’s not sure she should marry him (Rol). She can’t marry him with all the questions/doubts (“dudas” can bean either word and I’m not good with the context here). Pepe says he has questions about giving MAL another chance … she is the mother of his hijos.
Paula asks him if he’s in love with her. He admits he fell I love (me enamoré) with her, but he has his kids and “marriage” to think about.They discuss their social class differences. Paula asks if Mal would be happy with Pepe knowing he doesn’t love her. Pepe lobs one back at her, saying she doesn’t love her husband-to-be. Point made.

Paula says although she wants to, she can’t promise him all those decades together; it’s impossible. Pepe asks why? She does not answer him (please just tell him the truth, Paula!!!). He says then we’re done. Pepe asks her, if she does not marry Roland and he leaves Malena, could she live with him for 40 years like his parents (if HE only knew…) Oops, wrong question. Paula has flashback to the doc giving her the diagnosis and prognosis, she starts crying, and still isn’t honest with him. (argh!)

ROL & MAL - meanwhile, our evil villains have met up to discuss their shaky relationships and agree to conspire to break up Paulepe. Mal tells him let's discuss further by phone; she can’t risk Teo seeing them together talking.

ISABELLA & LORENZO - Alex signed the paperwork on the property transfer. Isa brings them to Lorenzo. She tells him that Alex moved out so she can work out her feelings for Lor. Lor says let’s give it a try. Isa is worried that over the decades their relationship was idealized. Lorenzo says there’s only one way to find out and they both move in for a kiss, which the camera cut away before it happened.

BUSTED - Pascual called Rafa about Andrea’s visit. Rafa confronts Andrea about that. He wants to know what she asked him. She says she knows Rafa is Malena’s lover and that he sent Pascual to visit Malena, to cover his tracks. Rafa admits he is Mal’s lover.

LUCIA cannot believe Pepe is accepting Malena’s baby by her amante. He tells her he is the father.

At the restaurant, Malena gets up on stage with the band and asks the crowd to encourage Pepe to kiss her. Pepe looks like he’s rather swallow a wiggling worm. Finally she forces a kiss on Pepe and at the same moment, Paula has walked up and sees this. Pepe sees her and Paula runs away.

Thanks, Doris.

I have to say that nobody's love life should be dictated by his/her children. Yet we have this tale of two people who are clearly caving to that (Forgive me for this one but little Suzy's voice is also painful to my ears). Both she and Teo have no clue that what they want is not only not going to have a good result, it will be toxic to their same-sex parents.
'
Andrea is very smart; she should write detective fiction in a few years. However, her mother hates her so she needs to be more discreet in her investigations.

Lucia is very outspoken, like most teens. However she should dial that back a bit and discreetly eavesdrop.

Loved seeing Lorenzo in the kitchen. Although I don't eat lasagna often I could appreciate a man who has the patience to make something that tedious.

I think we all anticipated that MALena and Rolando would become evil allies. I am predicting that she will seduce him relatively soon.

Doris your smart and savvy recap was so much fun to read.

“questions/doubts (“dudas”) was great; I always enjoy new vocabulary.

For the life of me I couldn’t figure out exactly what Paula and Pepe’s emotional discussion consisted of. So Pepe wants the promise of eternity; Paula cannot even promise him tomorrow. Now that I know what was said, I echo your plea that Paula tell Pepe she is on death’s door! Speaking of the clock is ticking and we are not a whit closer to any sort of cure or miracle!

Andrea and Lucha are quite the team and have figured out the truth independently of each other. It is so sad though they are bearing the heavy burden of knowing the truth about Rafa and MAL.

Meanwhile, Rol’s romantic fate ping pongs back and forth. Paula needs to break it off now, and firmly. Sweet Susi would likely be very happy if her mother ends up with Teo’s father.

“Alex tells her he can see in her eyes what she feels for Lorenzo”. Of course he does (we all can). I give Alex credit for not trying to tether Isa to him and for giving her the freedom to make her own choice. That said, Isa needs to make a choice and let herself, Alex and Lor get on with their lives.

Dear Doris, thank you for that groovy recap of all the ...stuff.

Wow, where to begin? Well, teenagers are always mortified to even imagine that their parents have sex , but here are two teen girls who have discovered that the one's mother had an affair with the other's father...and these girls are cousins. Byzantine , right? I found it very weird that Andrea thought it was a good idea to confront the mechanic . By the way, Rafa let's remember is "so in love " with MAL that he sent another guy to her house . Say que??

I noticed Rol putting his hand on MAL's thigh as she announced that he was handsome . Evil knows evil. I'd like to see a meeting between MAL and Nat.

Paulepe....Pepela....so many fun possibilities .

I'm in this for Juan ...the charm, the hair, the scarf, the motorcycle , the lasagna. Yes, Diana, A handsome man ...who cooks. Si si.

Renata is truly annoying . She loves to throw a little English around , including inappropriate English.

It looks like the English language has snob appeal in Mexico but that could be a TN cliche that does not reflect reality. I wish we had someone here who lives there and can tell us the truth about this.

As it is, I get seriously bent out of shape about medical fantasies in TN's, so how will they resolve Paula's prognosis?

Valentino Lanus was attractive in Primer Amor back in 2000. He wore his hair a little shorter but long enough to cover the tops of his ears but at his present age they may have to come up with something else. At least he still has all his hair.

It also looks like Lisardo has all of his but he looks better with it a little longer and he's also rather dashing with a beard.

Thanks Doris, I enjoyed your recap and it’s always good to read about the conversations I couldn’t understand.

It was brave of Andrea to visit Pascual. It didn’t take her long to figure out her dad tricked him because of the cameras. Now the two teenage cousins know the truth. What could go wrong?

Pepe is going to conclude that Paula prefers the rich life style and doesn’t love him enough to give it up. She needs to tell him the truth.

Pepe was so mad at Rafa for telling MAL he and Paula spent the night together, wait till he learns he’s the father of the baby.

After seeing Rol put his hand on MAL’s thigh. If they have a fling I think it will be Natalie who gets mad.

Pepe and Paula both seem to listen to their youngest child instead of what they want. For Paula it will only be a few months, for Pepe a life time. I thought it was interesting that Isabella told Pepe to think through his plan to claim the baby. Since she basically did that (or Alex did) I think he should take her advice. Do we know if Alex knows Rafa isn’t his?

Nobody’s read the papers on the land. I, for one, am curious about what they say.

Wow, you did get a whopper of an episode, Doris, and you caught everything superbly, thank you!! And a belated thank you to all those who commented yesterday. I didn't read the exceptional comments until late last night and was too tired to respond...my apologies.

I still think MAL was putting on a performance with her pains. If she can manipulate Teo into hiding, I wouldn't put it past her to have paid the doctor to say that she was bleeding and needed rest plus NO STRESS. Had she been bleeding, wouldn't;t she have at least changed her pants???

I was so afraid that Paula was going to cave into Susy's pleas; thank goodness she stood her ground. I was really hoping Paula would confide in Pepe that she has little time and can't commit to living decades with him. How can she allow him to be so confused about her feelings?

Andrea's detective skills are quite impressive. What a big disappointment this must be for her. Now what will she do with that information? Andrea and Lucia deserve so much better than MAL and Rafa. It's wonder that the two girls are so sweet and have such good values.

Pepe agreeing to say the baby is his and Alex remaining so calm in telling Isa to sort out her feelings has me perplexed. In my RL, I don't know of any man who would react in this way. The men in my world would stomp, yell and forsake the woman. MAYBE after a few days/weeks, they would calm down enough to be civil to the woman.

I can't wait for Rafa to blow up and tell all.

The good thing about this episode is that we didn't see NAT for very long :-)

RgvChick --- good observation about Mal's pants not being changed!

I've noticed, in the last several years of telenovelas, that the younger people throw in some English words. They probably are learning English in high school and it might be a cool thing to use some of the words?

It will be interesting to see Pepe's reaction when he learns Rafa is the father. It won't be pretty.
 

VENCER LA CULPA #75 Part 1

1. Franco explains that he called Pablo. He needed a job and he made him his consultant. Dulce asks him to swear that when he judged her project he didn't know it was hers. He had no idea. The projects were given to him whiteout any names attached to them. He was really impressed with hers and he is very proud to see what she is capable of. He congratulates her. She never expected to win. He tells her to never doubt herself. He is sure she will fulfill all of her dreams.

2. Angeles asks Manuela about Dulce giving testimony against the "famous" Nico. Manuela says that Vicky just messaged her and told her that Dulce was very nervous and insecure. Things were not going well. She would have liked to have gone but her head wasn't there.

3. Behind a scowling Leandro, a concerned Pablo asks Carlos why Leandro is not defending Dulce. Carlos tells him to calm down. Leandro is her defender and they are going to have to trust that he knows what he is doing. Pablo can't do that.

4. The prosecutor asks Dulce why she had waited until this court date to tell them that she deliberately lied. Dulce cries as she answers that she got confused. Pablo sands up concerned for his daughter. Leandro says that there is an explanation for this mistake. Undoubtedly, the accuser is confused and under pressure. Vicky adds that tomorrow Dulce is going to be a kidney donor for her younger brother. He thinks that that the extra stress on her should be considered. Nico says that isn't his fault. He wants to be freed. He wants to know who told Dulce to blame him. The judge calls for SILENCE. Nico's lawyer says that his client should be freed. Dulce is crying uncontrollably and Pablo goes to comfort her. The judge orders him back to his seat.

5. At the same time, Irineo is telling Fidelia and Heliberto that he needs the evidence that his boss says that they have against Manuela. Fidelia makes it clear that NOBODY tells her what to do. Things are going to go the way SHE wants them to go. She wants Violeta to confess and turn herself in. If her confession is not enough, then she will produce the evidence. She wants Leandro to make Manuela talk. If he doesn't, there will be no evidence. Irineo thinks they are messing it all up. He leaves. Heliberto is afraid they are ruining their connection with Leandro. She reminds him that they are there to avenge Rosendo's death not to do anything thing for that dirty rich man. Heliberto himself wants to see the evidence since she is the only one who can accuse Manuela of killing his father. She defiantly asks him if he doesn't trust her now or what???

6. Angeles asks Manuela how things are going at the Center. It seems that Carmina's outburst in the lobby did have an effect on Manuela's association with the Center. She says she had to ask for a leave. They gave it to her since it is most convenient for them at this time that she not even show up there. Manuela adds that it makes it possible for her to now go on the trip with Julieta and Leandro. That trip gives Angeles a very bad feeling. It sounds like she and Julieta are never coming back to them. She cries.
 

VENCER Part 2

7. The judge says he has seen a lot of things but being an unstable young woman running a case off the rails is inadmissible. He tells Dulce that this is not a game. Leandro says he is not making excuses for his client but she is emotionally unstable. She is a transgender woman. Pablo expresses his concern for his daughter's personal information being brought up. As he gets louder in his complaint, Carlos tries to get him to shut and sit down. The judge threatens to eject him from the proceedings. Leandro says Dulce's legal identity is also an issue. Her real identity is Damián Córdoba because she never legally changed her name. Nico's lawyer asks WHO ??? is accusing Nico then. His client should be freed. Nico says tha he should be freed and that boy or girl or whatever it is should be jailed. The judge asks for silence. Genaro tells Yaneli how bad he feels for Dulce being outed like that in front of everyone. The judge decrees that due to Dulce's retraction of her accusations, Nico is freed. Dulce sobs in her father's arms. Leandro is left stewing.

8. Franco shows Paloma a list of the "opportunity areas" in her project. There are only a couple of things to adjust. She thanks him for pointing them out. He says it is his job. He adds taht he doesn't know what the two of them are doing avoiding the issue. He admits he was not honest with he but he wants to apologize again. He wants to to talk about what happened and what they learned together. She doesn't; think that is a good idea. He wants to explore if there is a possibility of them being a couple again.

9. Carmina is in Pablito's room to talk to him. She bad mouths Pablo and Duce for not coming to see him already like she has. he is not bothered. Carmina asks the nurse to leave only to find out that Pablo has hired her and she is not to leave the room for any reason. Carmina voices her frustration. Pablito knows that Dulce had to be in court today so that is probably why he hasn't heard from her or his father. Carmina tells him not to make excuses for his father.Pabllito also wants to stay in Mexico City with his father and Dulce. She corrects him it is DAMIAN. He is a man. Only his aunt Nancy calls him Dulce. Carmina wonders where Nancy is. She hasn't heard from her . . .

10. Leandro tells Irineo that they are going to free Nico because of that stupid Dulce retracting her statement. Irineo wonders if Dulce would be capable of telling everything she knows now. Leandro says if she were going to talk, she would have done it already. Furthermore, she doesn't have proof of anything. After the hearing, she has no credibility. Irineo mentions she could talk about the threats he made to to her. That would give way to suspicions. Leandro says Dulce knows not to put her brother or father in danger. Something is telling Leandro that after donating a kidney to her brother, Dulce is sadly going to pass on to a better life. Everyone will believe that she just could not withstand the surgery.

11. Pablo tells Dulce that it worries him seeing her like she is. He will be there for her when she decides to tell him the truth. Dulce tells him she is very ashamed about everything that is happened. If she hasn't been able to look him in the eye, it is because he has a lot of integrity and has always told the truth. She died a lot abut Nico. He tells her to put her shame to the side and tell him why she lied. She says she cannot do that right now but will after the surgery. It is time to go to the hospital.
 

VENCER Part 3

12. Franco tells Paloma he never knew anyone before that had almost the same professional aspirations as he did. He is happy seeing her now happy, accomplished and successful doing what she has a passion for. She says that in spire all they have in common, it is so hard to recapture the trust that they lost. He knows what he did was wrong but he still feels this great love for her. No matter what she decides to do, he will never stop loving her. She starts to say something but then decides it is time for her to

13. Paloma meets with Amanda and Yaneli. She tells them that Manuela cannot make their get together for personal reasons. Amanda says they will have to tell her how the court proceedings went. Everyone wonders why Dulce lied. Amanda wonders why she would accuse Nico. Paloma concludes she must be hiding something. Amanda adds she could be covering for somebody else.Yaneli thinks she is afraid. Paloma wonders if she was threatened. Amanda seems to have a realization but she isn't sharing. She is just worried about Dulce. She quickly leaves to take care of her dog. The other two women wonder what is going on with her.

14. Leandro calls Manuela to tell her that their trip out of the country has been moved up. He wants to leave tomorrow night. He will be in contact and tells her to take care of Julieta. Irineo congratulates him on coming up with the perfect alibi. Tomorrow when Dulce is dead, he will be far away from Mexico.

15. Pablo is with Carmina at the hospital. She is going home for a break but has to ask him first why he would hire a nurse for Pablito. He answers it is for security. Nothing special. She leaves.

16. Carlos arrives with good news for Pablo. Dr. Chavao has told him he is ready to tell hm what happened with Pablito's health and Carmina's role. Pablo sees the doctor as a witness they can use against her. He will take care of that after the surgery.

17. Paloma tells the other two friends that Manuela has been very strange. Something has to be going on. Amanda says she has been stranger than usual. Yaneli is not concerned. They all conclude that sometimes good things do come from adversity. Look at all of them. It all came from Dulce going missing. Amanda always thought Dulce was a good girl and now sees her, also, as noble and very brave. Tomorrow she is donating a kidney to her brother. Paloma wonders if she will tell them someday who was behind her disappearance. Paloma thinks it al has to do with Nora Pardo. Amanda looks uncomfortable.

18. Carmina is taking her break with Leandro She wonders who kidnapped Damián. He has no idea. She thinks it must have been somebody that that monster had a relationship with. She is happy that after all the tests, Damián is healthy and will not give any bugs to her son. They toast. He asks her if she still thinks that it would be a good thing if Dulce died after donating a kidney to Pablito. Carmina thinks it would be a miracle. She is only worried about somebody discovering that she was giving that tea to her son instead of his medication. It was clearly for his own good. She decides that she is needing something else right now and starts to unbutton Leandro's shirt. They start to kiss and AMANDA WALKS IN ON THEM with CHIMICHURRI!!!
 

VENCER Part 4

19. Fidelia appears at Leandro's office demanding to see him. She is told by his frazzled assistant that he is very busy. His mother just arrived and entered his office unannounced while he was with somebody else. He is going to really chew her out. Fidelia is willing to talk to Irineo only to find out that he is gone and she cannot tell her when he is coming back. Fidelia says she will come tomorrow morning early. That is when she finds out that Leandro will be on a trip.

20. Amanda says she knows the woman that Leandro is with. She saw her at the hospital when she went to visit Dulce. She pretended to be working for the Atenea Center. Carmina leaves. Amanda's attention turns to her son who shrugs.

21. Carmina leaves telling the assistant to come with her. She wants to leave a note for Leandro. They go off together. Fidleia is left with Leandro's agenda and sees his trip annotated. Manuela and Julieta are going with him.

22. Amanda asks Leandro if he knows that Carmina is Dulce's step mother. She asks him about always saying he still is in love with Manuela. What is going on with him? She wants the whole truth. What does he have to do with Dulce? Is he behind everything that has happened? Leandro goes dramatic asking if she is serious. He says this is what he gets for trying to help!! Now his own mother thinks that he is involved in an atrocious crime! Amanda reminds him she was not born yesterday and is not stupid. There are too many details that do not make sense. He thinks she is too affected by all this. She needs to stop thinking about Dulce and think about her business. He reluctantly hugs her telling her she is too upset but we see that Amanda is still not convinced.

23. Fidelia tells her son that Leandro was only using them. He is only interested in Violeta and her girl. So, they need to move ahead with their plan. She tells him to send a text to Julieta as Chiro. He tries but finds that Julieta blocked him. She tells him that she found out that Leandro is planning on going away with Manuela and Julieta. She is going to ruin that plan.

24. Tamara tells Amanda that she cannot believe what happened and that Nico is going to be free. Her mother warns her that he will be out tomorrow and that he is going to be right there asking her for money over and over again. She need sot come to some sort of an agreement with him.

25. Manuela comes to be with Pablo at the hospital. He tells her that he will be talking with Carmina about what she did to Pablito after the surgery. He still has no idea of who could be Dulce's attacker. Carlos arrives. Pablo asks if she has found out anything about Andrea Salcedo. Manuela remembers (way back to the early days of his novela) Andrea arriving at the center as an abuse victim with Leandro her lawyer. She remembers talking about her with Vicky later. Pablo notice she is thinking about something. She tells Pablo that name sounds very familiar to her.
 

VENCER Part 5

26. Nico's first stop is Amanda's house demanding to see his kids. She tells him that Tamara has moved and she is not giving him her address. He is also planning on suing her, Tamara, Leandro and Dulce for what they did to him. She suggests start a nr life and come to and agreement with Tamara.

27. Pablo says that Andrea is the person who bought the cellphone that was gifted to Dulce. He knows the phone was sent to the Center. Carlos concludes that Leandro is somehow connected to Dulce but he doesn't know how. Manuela says nothing. Pablo says they will not know until Dulce recuperates. Manuela leaves.

28. Julieta is at school and sees a message from Chiro. She is not happy but in spite of EVERYTHING HER MOTHER TOLD HER ABOUT HIM MOST LIKELY BEING HER ATTACKER/THEIR STALKER, she answers him asking what he wants. She blocked him because she was tired of him making fun of her. She is going to block him again and knows he is not who he says he is. She doesn't want talk to a stalker. He appeals to her out of curiosity. Doesn't she want to know who he is and why he is texting her? She says it obvious that he is trying to fool her and do something bad to her. He answers that he hasn't done anything bad to her. Her parents have lied and hid things from her. Does she think they are taking that trip for pure pleasure? Julieta asks how he knows they are going on a trip. Fidelia tells her son that is proof that Leandro is going to betray them. They have to stop him.

29. Pablo sends his children off to surgery with good thoughts. Carmina does the same for Pablito.

30. Nico calls Tamara angry that his kids were not at school. She tells him that she kept them out so he would not scare them. She wants them to explain to the children together what happened. He accuses her and her whole family of only wanting to aggravate him. He blames her and all of her family for what happened to him and they are going to make them pay one by one.

31. Manuela has invited the friends over so she can tell them about an important decision she has made. She needs their help, understanding and respect. Angeles is with them. She tells them that many years ago she killed a man. It was in self defense because he was sexually assaulting her but that still doesn't change the fact that she killed him. She is also planning on turning herself in.
 

VENCER Part 6

32. Fidelia tells her son that she knew that Violeta and Leandro were in collusion. That is why they had their child. She says that they set a trap for him and he fell for it like an idiot. He reminds her that they are both going to end up in jail. She doesn't care. She only wants to see Violeta suffer what she suffered. She wants to see her behind bars. Heliberto concludes they are going to hit her where it hurts most. They are going to take Julieta. They are going to have a good plan because she always has a body guard. He gets a text from Julieta that she can meet him the park next the school.

33. Carmina and Pablo wait during the surgery. She tries to change the subject by suggesting that she, Pablo and Pablito all go to the beach together. She could take care of Pablito night and day. He asks if that would be like when she started to give him a tea instead of his medications. He knows everything about her taking away his medication, threatening Dr. Chavero and bribing Gutiérrez. She is appalled he would push these false allegations on her when their child is between life and death. He blames her for their childbearing between life and death. Now she understand the 24 hour nurse. Does he think it is possible for her to harm her own child? Leandro believes she is capable of anything.

34. In order to get even with Amanda, Nico puts some food and poison in Chimichurri's bowl. He conveniently places it next to him. He runs into Enrique's kids on the way out who ask what he is doing there. They recognize him as Amanda's ex son-in-law.

35. Julieta begs the body guard to leave her out of his sight for just three minutes. She needs him to go to a paper store right around the corner to buy her a geometry game for her last period class. After her begging and whining, he agrees.

36. Julieta sneaks out to the park with a grin on her face. She sends a message to a friend to cover for her if anyone wonders where she is. There, much to her horror, she find out who Chiro really is. She is abhorred that he is a grown man. She actually says YUK!. She threatens to shout if he does anything to her. She already has sent her location to her best friend via her cellphone so her mother can find her. Heriberto easily takes her phone and throws it across the park. He is only there to tell her the truth. Her mother's real name is Violeta. She changed her name to hide from having committed a crime. She is a murderer. She killed his father. He only wants her to pay for what she did. Julieta does not believe him. She hates him. He takes out a knife. She can believe him the easy way or the hard way. She goes running from him screaming for help. He runs out of the park one way. She goes the other right into the arms of an old woman who says she is willing to help her. Fidelia guides a wailing Julieta to where a supposed patrol car is. Instead, Helibeto arrives in the family car. Julieta is horrified and fights the best she can. Fideiia calls her a drooling brat. Julieta is chloroformed, put in the back seat, and driven away.

37. Amanda tells Manuela that she knows about Andrea. Amanda is trying to make sense of it all and says she started to become suspicious after she talked to Nico , Dulce and her son. Amanda now doesn't doubt that Leandro is involved. Paloma thinks that Dulce has the answer. Yaneli is worried that she is in danger. Amanda expresses how hard it is to accept the fact that her son is a criminal. Manuela begs her to never allow Leandro to be in charge of Julieta. Manuela does not trust him. She is sure there will be a custody fight.
 

VENCER Part 7

38. Leandro is in blue scrubs as he enters Dulce's room. He tells her that she is worth nothing now since she donated the kidney to Pablito who happens to be a kid he likes. Without her around, there will be no evidence against him. Now is the time to shut her mouth once and for all. Dulce start starts to wake up and talk. He covers her mouth and tells her that there is no need to talk. Now nobody will ever know where Nora Pardo kept the evidence she had against him. With her dead, nobody will even known the evidence ever existed. Her friend Nora was stupid and didn't handle things well. He is leaving town with Manuela and his daughter. He is sorry but somebody else will have to be held accountable for what he is going to do to her. He injects her IV line with something . . .

Nico deserves a very unhappy ending for trying to poison Chimichurri. Maybe he will get run over or something similar. I think the dog will be too wary to touch try food. Maybe the poison will make it smell weird?? I am hoping.

I don't know how Pepe doesn't see it's no good trying to play a happy family with Malena. It's all 'for the kids' At first I thoughtit was all about not making Malena the object of gossip, which would affect the kids in that pueblo. But it appears Pepe honestly thinks it's somehow going to be good for them to be together. But then if he isn't going to be with her the way they used to be, what are the benefits of this? I'm confused.
I loved Andrea and Lucia in this episode.
Isabela lied to the very end, insisting she wanted to be with Alex. Alex seems to have realised he didn't want any more misery.
I recently read about a doctor in Australia who got cancer. It seems to be the agressive one that is rarely cured. He gets imunotherapy, which is a new thing for this type of cancer and it seems to have helped. Though they aren't exactly sure. So I wonder what they are going to dowith Paula. Wasn't there a case in France where a boyhad a brain tumour and was cured?
I wonder what Paula thought would happen once she told Pepe she didn't want to marry Rolando. Or was this a moment of desperation? She should just have told him everything. I know it's for the drama, but that part was annoying.

waterlily - good point ... I honestly don't think Paula knows what she wants. I guess if I had her diagnosis and prognosis, I might not be thinking clearly, either. (more like freaking out)

Immunotherapy is a new treatment for some cancers but it has its downsides, too. We know someone who did that for melanoma. A year or two later, he had such a bad case of pneumonia that he almost died. I think his immune system was so stressed and worn out from the therapy that it hadn't recovered. Our friend did recover, but it was touch and go there for a while.

I’m also hoping Dulce survives. After all she’s been through she deserves a good life. Leandro had two conversations with Carmina where they talked about Dulce dying after the surgery. I wonder if Leandro recorded her and will send it to someone.

Julieta was a stupid fool. Her mother already told her that Chiro was probably the man that’s been stalking them. I wish I could be concerned about her, but I’m not.

Amanda knows Leandro is involved, but I don’t think she realizes how bad he is. She’ll be shocked and sick when she discovers what a monster he is. I hope he’s not the one to save Julieta.

I was surprised Manuela is going to turn herself in. I hope she gets a good lawyer. She seems to have accepted she’s going to jail.

I still think Heriberto will not harm Julieta. He knows he’ll be going to jail because of her mother’s crazy ideas. She hasn’t even shown him any proof.

Jarifa, that was outstanding. Can’t wait until tonight, I hope Dulce and the dog are still alive!

Sheer terror emanated from every ounce of Dulce’s being as she recanted her testimony. You could not only see, but feel her agony, her desperation realizing that by betraying Leandro, she may have sealed her own dark fate.

“They toast. He asks her if she still thinks that it would be a good thing if Dulce died after donating a kidney to Pablito. Carmina thinks it would be a miracle” reflected pure evil in its most chilling form.

Pablo thought to hire security for Pablito, did it never occur to him that Carmina’s pure hatred for Dulce made her by far the most likely target? Pablo continues to disappoint.

Yes, “in spite of EVERYTHING HER MOTHER TOLD HER ABOUT HIM MOST LIKELY BEING HER ATTACKER/THEIR STALKER” Julieta decides she can “handle” Chiro and decides to meet him anyway! I felt for her but she fell right into the trap cleverly set for her.

Leandro may be an evil genius but he plans in the shadows, not wanting to be seen in the light. Fidelia has no fear whatsoever, which is what makes her at least as dangerous. She has but one mission: to make Violeta pay and is single-mindedly focused on achieving her goal, regardless of other possible casualties, even her own son.

Whatever terrible fate awaits Leandro, Carmina, Heliberto and Fidelia, may Nico suffer it as well.

Tonight should be heart stopping. Jarifa, once again, thank you for bringing this to life so vividly for all of us.

Yes, Leandro did keep going back to the topic of killing Dulce in his conversation with Carmina. That was so weird. When Carmina said that Dulce's death would be a miracle!!! That was a very clear answer. What else would he need to know?

VIDA Ep 25 Part 1

Malena celebrates her little victory (the kiss) with a dance (what happened to the rest that she needs??)..and drinks for everyone...on the house!

Isabela can’t go through with kissing Lor. He was sooo looking forward to it, but oh well...

Pepe catches up to Paula but she tells him to stop because she understands that he is back with his wife. Pepe tries to explain that the kiss wasn’t what Paula thinks…it was unlucky that Paula saw it, but Paula argues that she needed to see it so she could completely understand it. Pepe pleads that they shouldn’t part because of the kiss; their lives are following totally different paths. Pepe thinks Paula is angry with him, but Paula explains that she is angry with herself because she let herself be swayed by what she was feeling when her focus was supposed to be on her children. She appreciates that Pepe helped her focus on what is important. She hears the music and tells Pepe to go celebrate his life and return to Malena.

Rafa tells Andrea that he didn’t tell her the truth because he was afraid she would be disappointed in him. Andrea cries that Pepe is her uncle and doesn’t deserve to be betrayed by Rafa. Rafa assures that he fell in love. When Andrea asks if the baby is his, he remains quiet. Andrea cries that she had always admired her father, but now she doesn’t know him…and never wants to see him again! Lucia enters as Andrea runs out crying; so Rafa tells her that Andrea just found out everything…and asks her to help Andrea.

Lucia runs after Andrea who thinks Andrea has no idea what is going on; so Andrea confesses that she knows everything.

Gracia tells Pepe to go after Paula who obviously loves him. Pepe refuses saying that Paula will be getting married in two weeks and Rol threatened him.

Andrea and Lucia spend the night at MAL’s business. Andrea cries that the man she has been looking for and spoke so badly about was her father.

Paula returns home to find Lor sipping wine. He tells her that Isabela was there…and they just can’t seem to connect. Paula thinks that they are very much alike because Pepe is going back to his witch…errr wife. She won’t go after Pepe because, though she loves Pepe, she doesn’t want to make him happy for such a short time and then take it all away.

Lucia tells Rafa that Andrea is very disappointed in him.

MAL is gloating when Alex comes out and asks here who the father of her baby is. MAL assures that the baby is Pepe’s but Alex thinks that MAL is taking advantage of Pepe and isn’t convinced by MAL’s lies. (And glad to hear) he still doesn't trust her.

Lucia wakes up in the morning to find that Andrea is gone. And the search is on...

Paula tells her doctor that she is thinking of undergoing treatment. When Paula asks if the doctor has ever seen someone survive a tumor like hers. After the doctor deflects saying that he is a realist, Paula tells him that she will prove to him that miracles do exist.

Hair-loose Pepe confronts Lucia because she didn't sleep at home. Rafa explains that Lucia was helping with Andrea since Andrea became very upset (true) ...because they started talking about her mother and he didn't want total about it.
 

VIDA Ep 25 Part 2

After seeing the doc, Paula and Rol go have lunch. Paula tells Rol the she wants to resume the wedding plans because she wants to make sure her kids are taken care of. When Paula coughs, Rol remembers seeing a frail sick woman (probably at the doctor's office) and imagines Paula in a similar state; he quickly says NO! After some pleading fro Paula who reassures her thing with Pepe is over, Rol agrees to the wedding.

Nat comes in and introduces the lady who will be helping around the house; to her surprise Lor recognizes Rosa and greets her warmly.

Rol has a condition--they should live in Mexico City or this beach house. Paula once again reassures that if they marry, there will be no one else for her, but Rol. Rol tries to hold her hand but Paula cringes retracting her hand quickly...so she can call Susy.

Lor explains the he knows Roa because she worked for the Montiel family several years ago. Suzy runs in with the great news--her mommy will come for her soothed can go buy a wedding dress...her mam and Rolando WILL get married. Diego has a Yosemite Sam fit (remember him from Bugs Bunny?) because he feels that Rol can't be trusted and that Paula and Rolando are hiding something from them.

Andrea goes to confront MAL and threatens--Mal better tell the truth by the end of the month or Andrea will do the talking. Alex then comes out and asks what the yelling was about. Mal tells him it was her phone...and she needs to go lie down because the doc ordered much rest (oh now she remembers that she is supposed to rest!)

Isabela is surprised to see Alex at the restaurant. Alex explains that work shouldn't be affected by their marital problems. Nat shows up with more papers to be signed (uh-oh!)...and they can get at the notary's office later to finalize the transfer of the property...and money. Isabela is surprised that there is money involved.; Alex thinks they should have expected it from Lor.

Andrea meets up with Diego and they conspire to split up Rol and Paula...by using Pepe since they know Pepe and Paula have a thing for each other. Andrea also tells Diego the he needs to hurry and help her find her mother because she down;t want to live with her father anymore.

Scowling Rol goes to see Nat who asked what happened. Rol shares how horrible and sickening it was to be in the waiting rom among all those sick people. When Nat tells him to get used to it because he will have to watch Paula deteriorate, Rol blurts out that he loves Paula so much that he'll kill Paula first before the tumor does!

Lor asks how she is...the family Montiel too him the real reason she stopped working for them.

Diago and Andrea have arranged for Paula and Pepe to meet. They watch from behind some bushes as Pepe and Paula talk and look at the scenery. Paula tells Pepe that she will marry Rol in two weeks. Rol looks nauseated...

“Hair-loose Pepe” is so true! Oh my, not a good “luke” for him at all. Also loved “Diego has a Yosemite Sam fit (remember him from Bugs Bunny?)” Answer is: Yes, and it was the perfect comparison 😊

“Paula tells her doctor that she is thinking of undergoing treatment”. Wait - what??? Is this the first time we’ve heard that some sort of treatment exists or did I miss this very important detail?? Regardless, knowing there is a glimmer of hope is heartening.

Rol’s look of disgust when Paula was coughing was cringeworthy. Yes, Rol, this is what terminal illness looks like, what on earth did you expect??

“Rol tries to hold her hand but Paula cringes retracting her hand quickly”. I mean really, Paula can’t even hold hands with Rol, nor can she remove the look of eating a dozen lemons whenever she looks at him. A Rol/Paula marriage looks even less fathomable than Pepe and MAL reconciling.

Andrea is heartbroken and I felt for her (as I do for Lucia as well). Children are so often the casualties of infidelity and end up being the most heartbroken.

I am eagerly waiting for an important character to show up (who was alluded to last night). Things are going to be shaken up even further and I can’t wait!

Thank you RgvChick for your recap! This story is really ramping up.

Rolando seems truly grossed out at the thought of being around anyone being sick. His flashback had me wondering if that was his mother, or someone else close to him. He doesn’t love Paula sufficiently that he would do a mercy killing; he would just be speeding up the process so he won’t be disgusted by dealing with a sick, dying wife. This man is horrible. It’s all about Paula’s money.

Pepe looks better with his hair up than down.

I like that Paula’s oncologist was flat-out honest with her about the best results the radiation treatment could give her -- just a couple of months. I hear too many stories IRL of doctors not being that honest with patients. I’m hoping for two miracles: 1) she does not marry Rol and 2) she can go into remission/be cured.

Nat looked sick when she saw that her mom and Lorenzo already know each other.
There is also something fishy about those papers she had Alex and Isabela sign.

Diana, from the get-go, Paula has been told that there is treatment , but as Doris indicated, it will only prolong her life by a couple of months. Diego really does remind me of Yosemite Sam! LOL

Doris, I first thought that the woman Rol saw in his flashback was his mother too, but I went back and watched it again. The woman has to be someone in the waiting room because she asks if “the wisest
was taken.” And yes, those papers Nat gave Alex can’t be anything good. What irks me is that no one is reading what they sign…ARGHH!

And I agree with you both, Pepe needs to keep his hair up.

I have to tell you that I had muted the show at the beginning because I was talking to a friend on the phone. When Peppy came on the screen in the bathrobe with his hair down....I thought it was Isabel...same hair . Pep definitely does not look better with his hair down . I like men with long hair ...for example, Adrian Paul of Highlander and Joe Lando of Dr. Quinn . I think Valentino Lanus would look so much better with a short haircut.

Looks like we might get to see Rafa's wife. That will add something to this boiling , bubbling stew. It might be fun to see what happens if she and MAL cross each other's paths.

How did Nat not know that her mother knew Lor . Did she work for Lor and his wife or his parents ?

Yes, Diego does like to explode in righteous anger like Yosemite Sam .

I hope Paula gets her miracle .

Now I see why Rolando hasn't been married before. I can't imagine how he would handle the "in sickness and in health" vow and forget about having children. Diapers would definitely make him pass out. That whole scene of him and Paula was cringeworthy. Maybe he won't be able to consummate... we need that kind of comic relief.

I am wondering about Nat's mother. Will she do what her daughter demands? Does she realize what a gold digger she is?

It looks like Isabella and Lorenzo have lost that connection from 40 years ago. Maybe he and Nat’s mother will become a pair!

Rol was really sickening. I don’t think he’s capable of any kind of love. He did kill his best friend. And now will kill Paula if she gets sickly. I hope the wedding doesn’t happen. Yes, she cringed when he took her hand, I think he’ll expect a little more of her after the wedding.

Diego’s gut feeling is pretty accurate, I wish Paula would consider his feelings.

When Pepe came out in the robe with hair flowing I thought it was a woman. I decided he was trying to look like those guys on the cover of romance novels, from years ago. I don’t like the bun or the long hair. He needs chin length.

It’s good to know Alex isn’t as trusting of MAL as I first thought. Now he needs to talk to Isabella.

Hope Diego and Andrea playing Cupid works out. But I can’t see her changing her mind about the wedding again. Although she should insist they live where she is now. I’m not sure why she doesn’t ask her dad to care for the kids. Guess it would take most of the drama out of the show, and shorten it quite a bit!

VENCER LA CULPA #76 Part 1

1. At Fidelia's lair, Julieta pretends to be unconscious as Fidelia and Heliberto argue about what to do next. Fidelia is in no rush to notify anyone knowing that Julieta's parents will be upset when she discovers that she has disappeared. Heliberto can only imagine how upset they will be when Leandro finds out that they are no longer staying where he thought they were. Fidelia cannot see Julieta being returned until she goes to the police and confesses that she is the murderer she is. Heliberto tells Fidelia he wants to see the evidence he has against Violeta. It turns it that she has none. Nor does she have the supposed statement that said that Soledad was not the person who killed his father. He demands to know the truth.

2. Amanda and Enrique arrive at his property. When they arrive at her closed shop, he notices something different about the door. They carefully enter her she where she finds Chimichurri looking dead on the floor. A distraught Amanda tries to awaken him. She holds him and sobs.

3. Paloma invites Polita to come and work with her on turning her project into a business. Franco suggested it. Polita happily accepts. Polita asks her how things are going with Franco. Paloma is still hung up on being able to trust him. Polita reminds her that we all make mistakes. All that Paloma cares about is getting everything organized so she can leave as soon as possible. That is all.

4. Pablo is confronting Carmina about what she did to Dulce. She denies it. He calls her a liar. He warns her that if anything happens to his daughter she is really going to pay. Carmina wonders if he set a trap for her. How did he know that she was with "Damián"? HIs daughter's monitors are connected to an alarm that sounds when there is any change. The doctor arrives to tell them that somebody injected Dulce's IV line. They found the syringe and fortunately were able to intervene in time. They are replacing her IV mow. Pablo looks accusingly at Carmina who swears that she didn't do anything. She goes to leave and Pablo grabs her arm. He tells her she isn't going anywhere. What she did was attempted murder and she is going to pay for that.

5. A veterinarian has made a house call and did all he could to save Chimichurri but it was too late. Chimichurri is dead and was poisoned. Amanda asks Enrique who could be so wicked s to do something like that. Enrique blame himself. If he had not gone out, Chimichurri would still be alive. She tells him it is not his fault and that there are such bad and vile people in the world. Who could have done it? Enrique's son Ignacio stops by to tell her that he is sure it was her ex son-in-law who killed the dog. Susana the Elder is with him and agrees. They saw him running out of her shop. He was very nervous. Amanda declares Nico to be a miserable person. She is going to accuse him of murdering her pet with the police. Enrique comforts her.
 

VENCER Part 2

6. As Julieta continues listening with her eyes closed, Heliberto asks how his mother going to prove that Violeta killed his father and not Soledad. Fidelia says her own two eyes are the proof. She saw how that wretch threw Rosendo down the stairs. Heliberto asks why she didn't tell him that from the start and kept lying to him. He asks why she had him kill Soledad who was innocent. Fidelia thinks the she deserved it. How could she be innocent? She stole his father way from them, destroyed their family and humiliated her. Isn't that more than enough? Heriberto accuses her of turning him into common killer fro no reason at all. She made him lose so many years of his life locked up in jail. Fidelia is unmoved and doesn't want to talk about it any more. Heliberto tells her that until she tells him the truth, he is doing nothing. She agrees to tell him the truth. Ever since his father met Violeta, she threw herself at him. Why? Because she wanted his money no knowing how poor he was himself. Heliberto asks if she was getting money from his father, why would she kill him?? Violeta told him her version and it was very different. She told him that his father sexually abused her. Fidelia asks if he is going to believe that liar and not her?? He asks why she didn't get the police involved when she knew it was Violeta at fault and why she let Soledad take the rap. He wants to whole truth .

7. Tamara calls Nico. He thinks she is calling him to blame him for something. She answers she is not blaming him for anything. She is inviting him to spend some time with their children this afternoon. He asks Really? She says yes. She wants them to reach an agreement on his visiting their children. He tells her to send him a time and a place. He will be there.

8. Pablo tells Carlos that Dulce has been stabilized. He cannot believe that Carmina would dare to do something like that. Carlos asks if Dulce realized what Carmina was trying to do to her. Pablo doesn't think so but if he can prove it, he will see Carmina put in jail. Pablo is planning on reporting her to the police for what she did to Pablo. He has the lab test results that prove that the tea that Pablo was being given had an ingredient that accelerated damage to his kidneys. Carlos says that is clearly a crime. It is called neglect and she could be given 18 months in jail for the crime. At the present time, Pablo is going to focus on his two children.

9. Leandro tells Irineo that he had come to believe that Carmina was a bit smart, but she wasn't smart at all. When she walked straight into Dulce's room, he knew that she was going to fall directly into the trap that he had set for her. He doesn't know if they stopped her or not because he has blocked all of his contacts. Irineo asks if she is arrested for what he did to Dulce, are the going to help her get out of the trouble she will be in or will they let her suffer and later get her out of jail. Leandro makes it clear that nobody is going to move a finger to help her. Ever since he found out what she did to Pablito, he knew that he would never be capable of helping a mother who was capable of making her own child ill. If she could do that, what could they expect her to do to anyone else? He shakes his head in disgust.
 

VENCER Part 3

10. As Julieta looks like she is watching a freak show from her position on the bed, Heliberto tells his mother that he now understands why she didn't go to the police and allowed Soledad to go to jail. He ended up in jail because she planted the idea of killing Soledad in his head when Soledad wasn't guilty of anything. She ruined his life. Fidelia has heard enough. She sees their only choice now is to go on with the plan. Heliberto tells her that from now on, she will be doing it on her own. She answers that he cannot leave her on her own. They are both totally embroiled in this. In a bit she is planning on sending Leandro a video of the girl to Leandro. She should be awake so they can pressure him more effectively. Fideila yells at Julieta to wake up. She keeps pretending to be unconscious. Heliberto has had it with her. He cannot forgive her for what she did to him. He is out of there. Fidelia calls after him but he is gone.

11. Leandro tells Irineo it is always important to have somebody to blame. He learned that with Nora Pardo. She is the only person who got away from him. She didn't get what she wanted either, of course. She ended up dead. Irineo reminds him that Nora was so very much in love with in him. Leandro says that was her mistake. From the start he made it very clear that they had an open relationship but the stupid woman fell in love. When you fall in love, you lose and she lost. Leandro has only loved one woman and that is Manuela and he keeps paying for that. Suddenly he doesn't know why he is telling Irineo all of this and tells him to leave.

12. Leandro calls Manuela to make sure she has everything ready to leave. She says almost. The plan is for her to meet him at Julieta's school with their luggage. From there, they will go to airport. She will see him there.

13. Manuela tells Angeles she is is going to pick up Julieta before the end of school and ask her teacher to let them leave through the back door to avoid Julieta's body guard. Angeles assures her it will all be okay. Angeles also plans to consult Jorge el Vidente (Psychic to the Stars)

14. Manuela gets a call from Julieta's school that she is missing.

15. Franco gets a call from Carlos urging him to turn in his executive summary of the project quickly. He wants it sent in for final approval so the resources can be made available. He needs to meet with Paloma and get it done. Franco says he will meet with Paloma. Franco is told that Pablo will not be present since he is busy with his children. Dulce donated a kidney to her brother. It all went well but Pablo has not moved from the hospital. Franco thinks he is a super dad.

16. Manuela meets Leandro at the school. She tells him that nobody saw Julieta leave. He talked to the stupid bodyguard who Julieta fooled by asking him to get her something from the stationery store. Manuela doesn't understand why Julieta would do something like that. She is sure that Fidelia and Heliberto are behind it all. She is afraid what they could do to her, Leandro agrees that they are the worst. Manuela remembers the app she put on Julieta's phone in order to locate her. The app directs them to the park.

17. Fidelia takes a photo of Julieta unconscious on the bed.

18. On the way to the park, Leandro fires the bodyguard.
 

VENCER Part 3

19. Julieta is not at the park. Manuela concludes that they must have thrown the phone there to get them off track. Manuela wants to call the police. Leandro tells her to wait. He asks what happened with Fidelia and her son. If Manuela talks to the police, they are going to make accusations against her. They are doing this to pressure her. He advises her not get involved in their game. He will take charge. Manuela says no way. She could not care less about being accused of anything or even spending her life in jail. She won't risk something happening to Julieta. She tries calling Heliberto. There is no answer. Leandro gets the photo of Julieta on his phone.

20. Fidelia sends a message: You will not see your daughter until Manuela confesses her guilt before the law. Julieta starts to move. Fidelia says she will send them more proof that they have Julieta. Julieta sits up and positions herself behind Fidelia who is sitting at the foot of the bed. She kicks Fidelia in the back knocking her to the floor. Julieta runs for her life.

21. Manuela finds Julieta's phone on the ground in the park. She is going to call the police but Leandro gets her to stop by admitting he knows where Heliberto and Fidelia are living. He asks her not to complicate things and to let him take care of things. She pauses and stares at him. She tells him that she is not surprised at all by what he is telling her but she isn't going to say anymore. She only wants him to take her where they are.

22. Fidelia takes to the streets looking for Julieta.

23.Leandro takes Manuela to the property where Fidelia and Heliberto are staying. He gets a big surprise when he is told they are no longer staying there.

24. Manuela calls Prosecutor Bravo for his help. She wants to file a complaint.

25. Franco is on the street and calls Paloma about meeting ASAP. She thinks it is an excuse for them to see each other. He says they need to decide on the resources for the project. She can verify that with Carlos. She say no, she believes him. He will send her his address. He has a room in El Peñón de la Esperanza. She finds it interesting that he is living so close to her house.

26. The conversation is interrupted when Julieta comes running down the street calling for help. She sees Franco and says she needs to call her mother. She is Manuela and works at the Atenea Center. Paloma has overheard everything. She tells Franco that she knows the girl's mother and wants to talk to her. Paloma identifies herself as a friend of her mother and tells her to come to her apartment with Franco. As soon as they get there, she will call her mother and the police. She promises her it will all be fine. Paloma tells Franco to run to her apartment. Franco grabs Julieta's hand and tells her to trust him. They start running and almost run into Fidelia who now has a gun with her. Fidelia thinks she saw them but Franco hides Julieta under a table at a café and Fidelia passes by.

27. They arrive at Paloma's. She tells Julieta that she has already called the police and also her mother but Manuela didn't answer.

28. Fidelia is frustrated out on the street looking for that damn brat.
 

VENCER Part 4

29. Still outsdie of Heliberto's and Fidelio's previous residence, Leandro is putting in a call to Commander Larrea. In the mean time, Manuela gets a call from Paloma that Julieta is there with her safe and sound. Julieta talks to her mother. She tells her that Heliberto and Fidelia had her locked up but that they didn't do anything to her. She is fine. Manuela thinks they have so much to be grateful for. They love each other.

30. Leandro starts bringing her up to speed on what he is doing when Manuela tells him his efforts are no longer needed. Julieta is fine. He wants to know what happened and where she is. Manuela says she is safe but refuses to tell him where Julieta is. He insists that he has the same right to see her. Manuela repeats that she is saying NO. Leandro says he is no idiot. He knows that she doesn't want to go with him and wants to turn herself in. It is clear to him that Julieta means nothing to her. She makes it clear that before she turns herself in, she is going to make sure that Julieta will NEVER be with him. He argues that Julieta deserves to be with the father that she denied her. He can give her the life of a princess that she has always dreamed of. He asks her to allow him to be with her. Manuela says NEVER. The good thing is that now Julieta knows what kind a guy he is. Manuela has a lot of other things to do. She leaves a frustrated Leandro.

31. Tamara tells Nico that she talked to her family lawyer who explained that the children have the right to receive support from their father. If he does not comply, he will not see his chlidren again. Nico starts off by explaining that he doesn't even have a job. Tamara remarks that isn't the kids' fault. They eat, get dressed and wear shoes. She tells him to get any kind job if he doesn't want to end up in jail for killing her mother's poor dog. He says he didn't poison it. She asks how he knew it was poisoned. He isn't up for problems. He tells he that she can have the kids but his absence has a price. He tells her to decide on how much she is going to give him.

32. At Manuela's house, Manuela tells Leandro that she doesn't care if he thinks it is stupid or not. She already has already reported Heliberto and Fidelia to the police because it is the right thing to do. He says that she didn't think about the consequences. Doesn't she realize that she could end up in jail? She says that is her problem. She knows that what really hurts him is losing control. He shouts that she is the only control freak. He says she is either going to tell him where Julieta is or she will find out what he is capable of. Hearing Leandro's shouting, the uncles and Angeles come to Manuela's aid. David tells him that the men of the house will not allow him to come to the house to be violent with Manuela. Leandro makes fun of the uncles calling themselves "men." Ricky defines what real men are compared to machos like him. Angeles says they are all know and are worried about Julieta but that doesn't give him the right to act like he is acting with Manuela or them.

33. Still with Franco and Paloma, Julieta says her grandma always tells her that there are angels everywhere. She tells them that they were her angels. She thanks them. Franco thinks that she is the bravest girl he knows. Julieta cannot wait to hug her mom. She also thinks that Franco and Paloma are a very lovely couple. Paloma looks uncomfortable.
 

VENCER Part 5

34. Leandro asks Manuela to allow him to take care of Heliberto and Fidelia. That way, Manuel will be free of any charges. Manuela says no. She is not going to hide anything she did. She has to be honest with herself and everyone else. He warns her she will end up rotting in jail. She is free to turn herself in if that is what she wants but if she does, he will make sure she is there for her whole life and that he gets Julieta. He is promising her. Angeles calls him a miserable person. The uncles tell him to leave. Leandro tells Manuela that she has been warned and leaves.

35. An agitated Leandro tells Irineo that if Dulce talks, he thinks she will be too afraid to blame him. She was confused and drugged from the medication. He thinks she will blame Carmina who is the first suspicious person on everyone's list starting with Pablo. If something does happen , he is counting on all of the years he has spent in the judicial world. EVERYONE owes him. Irineo asks if the evidence that Nora Pardo had is lost. Leandro says it better be because if it isn't, he would have problems because Nora knew everything about everything they were involved in. He asks if they found out anything else about Andrea Saucendo. irineo says she is being guarded until Leandro says she can leave. The next thing is to get Julieta out of the country and destroy Manuela. She is going to pay for preferring stupid Pablo over him. He might have loved her but nobody or nothing is going to stop him.Irineo says they are watching her closely. She went out with one of the uncles and Angeles went out with the other. Leandro asks who is being followed. Irineo says Manuela. She went to the hospital. Leandro calls him stupid. He thinks that Angeles is the one going to see Julieta. He tells him to find Angeles and the uncle. NOW!!

36. Pablo brings Manuela up to date on Dulce. He still has not even able to see her due to what Carmina injected her IV with. It left her in a bad state. Manuela assures him that Duce will be fine. Pablo is worried about her if she goes through with turning herself in. She is trusting in Vicky to do all she can to help her. She is worried about Leandro. He will be there to defend her against him and to support her. He wants her to know that the reason he hasn't been with her is not because of what she told him about her past. He admires her even more because of it. She thanks him and says even though they may not ever see each other again, he will be one of her most beautiful memories. From the time she met him, he totally transformed her life. He thinks it is time for them to be together and invites he to live at his apartment. She says first she needs to face justice and prove her innocence. If it all goes well and she is is free, she will think about it. They kiss. They love each other.

36 1/2 (Ha! Ha!) Paloma brings Julieta to the hospital and she is united with Manuela. Julieta begs her to forgive her for being stupid and putting herself in danger. Manuela forgives her for everything. Julieta says she also found out something about Manuela's past from her kidnappers and she needs to know what.

37. Yaneli tries to convince her brother to stop working for Leandro. He is a white collar criminal. Genaro cannot be convinced. Yaneli gets a call that Manuela needs to see her. It is urgent.
 

VENCER Part 6

38. Manuela and her children and grandchildren are having supper at Enrique's with his family. Tamara tells Amanda that her kids are getting used to the idea that their father's isn't going to be around. After what he did to Chimichurri, she won't have him around her children. Amanda filed a complaint against him but doesn't think he will be arrested because it was "only" a dog that was killed. Amanda agrees that Nico is a sick man and that is enough reason to keep him away from the children. Ignacio says that he and his sister organized the dinner to apologize to Amanda for having treated her so badly. Susana the Elder adds that she is a great woman and they will respect her relationship with their father. He couldn't find a better companion. She thanks Amanda. Amanda gets a text. She has to go to Manuela's house.She is to say nothing to Leandro. Amanda congratulates her daughter on her bravery, thanks Enrique's children and tells Enrique that he and his love made her live again.

39. Julieta tells her mother that a bit of her heart broke when she found out that her father was not the good man she thought he was. She found out that he was the accomplice of that woman Fidelia and that man who played the part of Chiro and that he did it all to hurt her (Manuela). Manuela is so sorry that she had to go through this. Julieta is sorry for the way she has treated her mother. She promises not to ever be like that again. Manuela forgives her. and apologizes for having kept part of her past hidden from her because a parent's past always affects their children. Julieta forgives her.

40. All of the friends, Axel and Franco have gathered at Manuela's house with her family. Ricky welcomes them all. Paloma tells him that there is no need for worry because Manuela is not alone. Paloma tells Franco that she doesn't know what the future holds but what they had was unique. It was so magical, she will never forget it. He asks if she is saying goodbye. She never answers because Manuela comes in with Julieta.

41. Manuela thanks them all for being there, being her family, and for being her greatest support. Her daughter is her greatest treasure. She thanks Franco for being Julieta's guardian angel. She gets all of the friends in their group together. She will never stop thanking life for having put them all in her path. She is grateful for their support, affection and sisterhood. They are part of her new family that she has chosen. If she is not around, she knows that Julieta will have the support of marvelous women. They all agree to be together forever. Amanda wants to talk to Manuela alone.

42. Amanda says it hurts her to the bottom of her soul knowing what kind of a man Leandro is. She recognizes that she was wrong about him which lead her to hurt Manuela many times. Sometimes mothers are blinded to seeing their children as they really are and it shouldn't be that way. Manuela says it is logical she would believe him before her.Manuela is sorry for what she is going to tell her. Leandro is a criminal. He has hurt a lot of people although it will be difficult to prove. She hopes that as soon as Dulce is talking, the puzzle will be solved. What bothers Manuela the most is that Leandro is going to insist on taking Julieta away from her. Amanda swears to her on her life that will not happen. Amanda asks her to forgive her. Manuela smiles and hugs her.

43. Angeles meets with Jorge. Angeles says what Manuela has told her has her on pins and needles. Ever since she has had Manuela, she has loved her as if she were her own daughter. Her pain Angeles' pain. He tells her that there are many tears to be cried. She needs to be very strong and trust because she still has a long road ahead of her to light up.

44. Manuela says they still need to forgive Fidelia because it isn't possible to live with that resentment. Even though he killed her mother, she feels that Heliberto was manipulated by his own mother.
 

VENCER Part 7

45. Leandro tells Julieta they are leaving. She refuses telling him that he is the one who is leaving. He says what? She goes to open the door for him and Fidelia is there. She grabs Julieta and points her gun at her head. She tells them all to not move and to stay quiet or she will shoot. She has come for Violeta to avenge the death of Rosendo. Julieta screams that she has nothing to avenge. Everyone knows who killed Rosendo.

46. We see a flashback. Violeta comes running down the stairs having heard something. Rosendo says it was nothing as a person (Fidelia) unseen to Violeta and Rosendo lets herself in. Rosendo asks Violeta if she is jealous. He thinks she is because she heard another girl. He loves that! He loves her! He grabs her and she tries to resist. He tells her that Soledad said she was getting home late so they have plenty of time just for the two of them. She breaks free and runs up the stairs. He grabs her by her hair. She breaks free again and pushes him away. He falls down the stairs. Fidelia sees it all. Violeta runs out of the house. Fidelia comes in and Rosendo is still alive. (There is no blood under his head..) He opens his eyes. She tells him that she is everything and he is nothing. She grabs his head in both of her hands and bangs it on the floor until he is dead. (Now there is a puddle of blood under his head.)She leaves.

47. Fidelia says that even though Rosendo beat her and mistreated her, he was her man and he abandoned her for her (Violeta's) mother. Then when he was with Violeta, he didn't want to come back and see her son. Yes, she killed him but it was because of them. It was their fault. Manuela offers herself for Julieta. Fidelia doesn't care if she kills both them.

48. Pablo is with Dulce as she begins to talk. It is important. The man that made her disappear and that threatened her with hurting him and Pablito and that made her lie in her testimony and that wanted to kill her in the hospital . . . that man is Leandro.
Pablo looks shocked.

49. Leandro offers himself for Julieta but Fidelia is not interested. She rails on about Violeta and her mother. She and her son lost everything. Somebody has to pay. An eye for an eye! Leandro lunges forward and Julieta breaks away. Leandro and Manuela fight Fidelia for the gun. The gun goes off.

I was surprised Paula suddenly wanted to get treatment. If it's not going to cure her, what is the point?
andrea is in danger because Malina will have no mercy if she feels threatened. I know she is supposed to be bipolar, but she also has a certain disregard for people.She somehow is the only one that matters and that can't be just because of bpd, can it?
I don't know what rolando was expecting. Hasn't he read up on Paula's condition?
I still can't believe Paula doesn't ask her father to look after her kids.
Rafa just always insisting he fell in love with Malena is a bit...I kind of get him, but he should tell the truth to stop his own suffering. The guilt is eating him alive.
I wonder what is up with those papers Nat gave them to sign.

Waterlily, if I recall correctly Lorenzo wasn't around enough for Paula's own childhood for her to consider him first as her children's guardian. That tells me he owes her.

Rolando would probably not have thought of what Paula's condition means. He might think it works like a sudden heart attack or stroke: one "hit" and she drops dead. This episode proves that he isn't as smart as he thinks he is. It would not surprise me if Nat would consider bumping him off after marrying him for Paula's fortune.

Jarifa, from the lowest of lows to the highest of heights, this roller coaster episode had me on the edge of my seat.

Manuela takes Julieta from her safe shelter and brings her to MANUELA’S.??? In effect, she brought the lamb to the slaughter. Fidelia’s hatred is burning and all consuming. Everything has now boiled down to a smoking gun.

“They found the syringe and fortunately were able to intervene in time”. Although I am relieved not to see Dulce suffer further, there was a quick shot in the preview of Dulce convulsing; did this scene also go under the knife? While it is hard to imagine cunning Leandro leaving the syringe there, he was clever in trying to implicate Carmina. I believe that those who commit crimes should be brought to justice and the innocent vindicated, but if she should be accused, I wouldn’t lose a moment of sleep.

” Ever since he found out what she did to Pablito, he knew that he would never be capable of helping a mother who was capable of making her own child ill. If she could do that, what could they expect her to do to anyone else? He shakes his head in disgust”. So Leandro does have his standards.

Having Fidelia actually been the one who killed Rosendo was another fascinating and clever turn by the writers. Heliberto’s remorse is far too late, his fate in hell is already assured.

“He wants her to know that the reason he hasn't been with her is not because of what she told him about her past. He admires her even more because of it”. Huh?? Pablo, you could have fooled me. You are oh so not worthy of Manuela who so clearly loves and adores you.

Poor Chimichurri. He didn't deserve this and I hope Nico rots away in a cell. If there is a time jump tomorrow I hope Enrique gives Amanda a puppy.

So it was actually Fidelia who killed Rosendo. True to form she and her son turned on each other at the end. May they both rot away in prison. Will anyone ever know the whole truth?

Manuela was foolish in bringing Julieta home. She should have let her stay at Paloma's until the demons were banished to hell. Now if Fidelia ended up getting shot and doesn't confess the truth Manuela could end up paying with jail time because there was no other witness to testify that it was self-defense. She looked no older than Julieta is supposed to be now.

Where is the box with the evidence of Leandro's crimes?

Finally, unless Leandro was lying about his "standards" I agree. I am a true crime addict and there is almost nothing worse than a parent who harms a child. Therefore, Carmina also deserves the same dire fate as Fidelia.

Could have they stuffed any more into one episode? It still was another fun episode to cover.

Of course, I loved Jorge El Vidente making a return visit.

I also loved the uncles explaining to mad dog Leandro what real men were like.

Paloma was annoying playing her games with Franco. YAWN one more time.

Genaro proved again to be very naïve for his age. I felt sorry for him.

So, in spite of Manuela being the only woman that Leandro has ever loved, he has to obliterate her because his weak ego cannot accept that she preferred Pablo over him?

Irineo needs to watch himself. He knows too much. Will he have a role in Leandro's take down or suffer for his role in Leandro's dirty business?

Fidelia, yes, another clever twist. And the classic gunshot during struggle cliffhanger. No guesses since I was sadly wrong with Chimichurri.

What about the ring and other item(?) Fiscal Bravo gave Paloma to return to Dulce? Must have some significance? That whole scene seemed manufactured around it, and it came late in the game.

Susan, Rosa, Nat's mother worked for some friends of Lor many years ago. He knows only enough to know why Rosa had to stop working, but I don't think his friends may have shared about Rosa's family (Nat). Knowing Nat, she probably forbade her mother from telling anyone that she is her daughter.

Urban, I don't know what Rosa will do either, but she seems to have much more of a conscience than Nat; so maybe she will be Nat's downfall (crossing fingers)

Liz, I'm hoping the wedding doesn't happen, but it will definitely be difficult for Paula to change her mind...again! If she cringes at holding Rol's hand now, what will she do when he "wants more" after the wedding. Ewwww!

Waterlily, I too was surprised that Paula is now going for the treatment that her doctor is recommending. I am really surprised that Paula or her father haven't been doing some research on possible treatments/cures...other than the one that will only give her a couple more months to live.

I wonder if\how the writers will tie up all these loose ends .

I am interested in seeing the anvils fall on those who have harmed people and pets . I see HEAs for Amanda and Enrique , Pablo and Manuela, and Fausto and Paloma. Fausto's redemption was being in the right place at the right time ( sure) to rescue Julieta.

I hope Genero isnt an innocent victim of Leondro.

After Gabe Soto's great depiction of pure evil , will we ever see him in a galan role again ?

Interesting that Leandro was so scathing about Carmina's mistreatment of Pablito yet he never hesitated to hurt Dulce, still so relatively young.

Susan, as excellent as Gabe Soto was here, I hope to see him in more galan roles. Now that we know he can personify pure evil all too well, that will help him secure more work as he ages...Cesar Evora does good and bad equally well but I much prefer hin as "good".

It is my understanding that this didn't do well in Mexico and part of the blame was laid at Gabe's feet. For the life of me I can't figure out why. He was outstanding.

Anon@1:28, you might be right about that.

Ten years ago the Mexican audience didn't like seeing Fernando Colunga as a villain so those writers rehabbed his character -- very unrealistically -- while weakening Jorge Salinas' character. I really hated that they did that. The network likely did not prepare its audience to accept FC playing a villain and that could also have happened here.

This network did not learn from that mistake.

Having said that these writers wrote the role of Leandro very cleverly, building the evil subtly, which the writers of Pasion y Poder had not. Right out of the gate we found out that Eladio was a very toxic husband and father and probably more obviously so than in the original version of that story (where he was portrayed by Enrique Rocha).

I wish there was an interview program where Soto could talk about these issues.

BTW, as a former theatre major I can attest to the fact that playing evil is more fun.
 

OT..Urban, anon was me . I remember that show . It was the first time I saw Susana Gonzales and the actor who played David in " Invencible ." I didnt like seeing Fernando as a villain since I had always seen him as the hero in " Alborado" , " Amor Real" and " Pasion" . In fact , he was the main reason I fell into the telenovela rabbit hole years ago when I was channel surfing and saw Fernando in period costume as Don Luis in Alborada.

The telenovela actors and actresses used to show up on the talk show " Cristina" after their finales . She seemed to love Fernando. Susan

Pablo—Thanks, Diana. Besides being a cold fish, Pablo is also humorless and self-righteous. One would think after her experience with Leandro, Manuela might do well to steer clear.
Thanks for the surprising info that Gabe was blamed for poor MX ratings. I would have thought overload of Paloma/Franco, their parents, heavy-handed PSAs!

OT....Regarding PSAs , when I first started watching telenovelas years ago , the writers were not peppering the shows with PSAs . There was only the message that evil is punished and good is rewarded by the finale . I am wondering when the Obvious PSAs started .

Wow. Jarifa, you delivered a doozy of a recap. Even though I watched the epi with my own eyes, it's still hard for me to believe that all THAT(!) happened in one hour. Superb storytelling.

Yay! I was happy to see Julieta kick Fidelia in the back and escape that room. The little girl has grown.

Jarifa, "freak show" is the perfect description for what Julieta witnessed with Fidelia and Heliberto.

"Pablo, you could have fooled me. You are oh so not worthy of Manuela" -- Diana, I couldn't agree with you more.

I wonder about Irineo's next move too. Surely he sees that Leandro is unraveling. I'm hoping he's smart and jumps ship. I want to see Leandro isolated and dethroned, before the khaki jumpsuit.

I figure Dulce will be okay, but Genaro worries me too. He's so grateful for Leandro getting him out of prison and giving him a job. And nobody has told him what they suspect.

My number 1 must-see: Nico back in prison and scrubbing toilets.

Susan, yep Julieta is Leandro's biological kid, along with the two boys by his wife (who seem forgotten about).

Gabriel Soto and most of the cast have done a great job. If the ratings weren't stellar, I'm thinking that viewers could've been weary of the PSAs. I applaud the producers for doing the transgender storyline though. The mystery of Damian and Dulce kept me riveted.

The only thing I’m confused about is when Fidelia admitted she killed Rosendo. I thought she said it when Helibierto wanted the whole truth. But did she tell everyone later, or was the flashback just for us?

I had not thought about the evidence. I wonder if Dulce knows where it is? They can’t end the show without the evidence!

I hope there’s not enough time left to get Genero hurt by Leandro! Or pulled into his crimes!

I think Gabe Sto was an amazing and believable villain. However I do prefer him as a nice guy.

Not sure what they can do to Nico. People do go to jail for animal cruelty, we can hope he does. I don’t want them to give him any of Tamara’s inheritance.
I didn’t realize the tea was making Pablito’s kidneys worse. Carmina should be charged with attempted murder. She needs more than 18 months.

Jarifa, I don’t have the words to tell you what an outstanding job you’re doing on this show. I would miss so much without your detailed recaps.

Did anyone here ever watch the teen novelas of decades past? I only ever watched Primer Amor... a mil por Hora." Valentino Lanus was one of the stars along with Ana Layevska, Anahi, Kuno Becker, Jose Maria Torre (as KB's gay younger brother) and Mauricio Islas (the teen villain). This was loaded with PSA's about teen and family issues. I was sufficiently impressed with it to record the whole series and give the tapes to my college buddy's kids a few years later.

Liz, I agree with you. Carmina deserves a heavy duty sentence for what she did to her son as does Nico for murdering Chimichurri.

From what I heard on the web, the audience in Mexico was also tired of the Vencer franchise format. Here it was moved to 6:00 p.m. to make way for something else at that prime 7:00 p.m. For me, "Vencer la culpa" was the weakest of the Vencer franchise that I have seen. (I never saw the very first one. ) The reason for that is that it took FOREVR for things to get going after Dulce getting nabbed at the start. I was so bored for the first half. The second half was fantastic. This needed better writers IMHO who could have told the story in a more interesting way in the first half. Maybe it needed less episodes or to be organized differently. Perhaps less sub plots.

As for Gabriel Soto, Jorge Salinas, Fernando Colunga and other leading men of a certain age, they need to explore other roles they can play like villains because father time has caught up with them. I think that Gabriel Soto did a marvelous job as did Jorge Salinas in "Perdona nuestros pecados" as villains. Being an actor is a tough profession. BTW, it looks like the galán in "Vivir de armor " is 33 year old Emmanuel Palomares who is clearly from a new generation.



Clara, thanks for reminding us of "What about the ring and other item(?) Fiscal Bravo gave Paloma to return to Dulce? Must have some significance? That whole scene seemed manufactured around it, and it came late in the game." I do not believe they would have wasted valuable novela on time on something useless. Things that make you go Hmmmm. . . Yes, Pablo is a "cold fish." Perfect!


Susan, "Is Leondro Julieta's biological father ?" As far as we know she is. His father wanted him to do a DNA test but he refused to do it. "I hope Genero isnt an innocent victim of Leondro." Me, too. Genaro is gullible. You are not the only one who has trouble watching multiple novelas at one time.

Why would the charge only be neglect when she stopped the approved medical treatment and replaced it with the tea in order to keep her ex around. It wasn't as if she were discontinuing approved medical treatment and replacing it with the tea because she thought it was better for her son. That would be more like neglect in my opinion. It will be interesting to see where she ends up.
