"CUANDO ME ENAMORO" HIGHLIGHTS DISCUSSION:

I'll be posting the recap of this morning's episodes sometime today.

VIVIR #26 Part 1

It was very hard to follow exactly what was said and therefore nearly impossible to correctly relate much of what transpired. I know not everything I wrote is accurate so kindly correct or fill in what I missed. I’m trying…

Don Emilio asks who Mau is but it’s rhetorical as of course he knows full well who it is. JE stares and whispers “Papa”, not looking at all happy to see his errant father. Cris explains quite quickly that Mau is ill. Of course this make no difference to (already proven quite heartless) JE who scowls and stares. Cris forges ahead, she wants him to recuperate there. JE is incredulous as Cris asks for compassion. JE wants an explanation as Mau looks panicked and coughs into his handkerchief, but sadly for him, there is no vial of fake blood available. JE stares…In the best moment of the afternoon, Don Emilio actually coughs into the jacket of his sleeve, mocking Mau knowingly!

Ramiro is innocent Lucas proclaims as Adolfo listens...

Gabriela serves Sebastian a hot beverage and they discuss the theft.

As Misael and Bruno talk, Bruno enlightens Misael that Romina is Luciano’s wife. Misael digests this rather wickedly. Speaking of Romina, she walks in.

Luciano and Fatima discuss the fact Romina is working with Bruno. Fatima seems suspicious but Luciano does defend Romina to a certain extent as she is his ex and “mother of my children”. He almost gets a bit cranky but they end up kissing.

Misael is asking, no, rather ordering Romina to do something. He isn’t asking her opinion and threatens her with consequences. He points his finger at her, saying that as the lawyer, she is responsible. She looks thunderstruck.

Renato enters with a lawyer and Elena, Gi and Angel are there. Santi is going to be released. They thank him for everything. Renato modestly says the most important thing is to help Santi so Elena won’t worry.

Gabriela is searching for something (THE papers?) as Misael comes out. You look nervous he comments. What is it? He gets in her face with his trademark smirk.

Mau is outside and upon seeing Rebeca, hides. Monica walks up and she and Rebeca plot although I’m not sure if he is close enough to hear.

JE and Adolfo are talking when Misael comes in. I believe the gist of it is that they don’t think Ramiro is guilty. Misael looks panicked.

Santiago and Ramiro talk in jail. All of a sudden, Ramiro turns around and shows Santi his tattoo. Santi is gob smacked.

Misael talks with Bruno and they are getting concerned about what to do..

I could not translate Monica and Rebeca’s conversation but I did notice that Monica seemed to get her way. I got the impression Monica wants to be rid of Rebeca (as well as Angel).

Mau comes out from his hiding place and Rebeca upbraids him. As he slithers back to his hiding place, Misael comes up and confronts Rebeca as Mau watches. Despite her protestations they might be seen, Misael starts kissing her as Mau nods knowingly. She is still trying to reassure Misael she is on his side.

Santiago is sprung as he and Ramiro shake hands. Little do they know this will be their final goodbye.

Santiago comes outside and is greeted by Elena, Angel Gi and Renato. Elena fusses and Santiago does seem appropriately grateful.

Uh oh. Ramiro is walking down a corridor and is accosted by three of the prisoners. There is no escape and Ramiro is stabbed from behind several times. He collapses as viewerville laments this senseless death.

Lucas visits Ramiro’s lawyer. He asserts that Ramiro is innocent.

VIVIR #26 Part 2 of 2

The prison guards finally make their way to the scene but rather than calling for immediate medical attention, waste precious time talking with useless witnesses. A guard feels the pulse in Ramiro’s neck, but the camera cuts away before we know if he is dead.

Santi thanks Angel who gives full credit to Renato. Santiago tells Renato how much he appreciate it and promises to pay him back. Santi gets a hug from Gi and Elena. Angel thanks Renato and gives him a hug just as JE and Adolfo walk by. JE thunders across the street yelling “Angel” and furiously reminds Renato that is MY wife. Renato goes back at JE and Adolfo has to hold JE back. Angel is agitated and assures him she doesn’t owe him any explanation. You are my wife he reiterates as she reads him the riot act. Angel rejects JE in no uncertain terms and brings up the divorce yet again. The hurt shines brightly from her eyes as he walks away.

Ramiro’s attorney tells Lucas that Ramiro is dead…He is as incredulous as we are. What a terribly tragic turn of events.

Adolfo tries to counsel JE as they sit in the jail waiting room waiting for Ramiro. Finally, they are also told Ramiro is dead as they try to absorb this shocking news.

Jimena is at the restaurant podium where one of the gentlemen waiting to be seated is quite complimentary. Icky and Jimena’s son arrive and overhear. Icky is his usual, nasty self, criticizing Jimena’s clothes and her makeup as their son watches this s**t show.

Gabriela tells Sebastian that paperwork is missing. (Was it what Romina took?) Hmmm, interesting that Romina walks up just at that moment. I believe she is looking for JE as she has “THE?” envelope tightly in her grasp.

Rebeca is acting like the big boss she isn’t, ordering Jimena around …JE has arrived, asking for Angel. Naturally he goes into what he thinks is Angel’s office now occupied by Rebeca. She isn’t here Rebeca says so he turns on his heels to leave as Rebeca calls him stupid. Well Rebeca was partially right. Angel wasn’t in her (old) office, she was out back, at her station, washing dishes. Renato does a walk through as Jimena sounds off to Angel. Angel recalls fond memories of being there in the kitchen with her father as they shared some tender moments. In the background, Frida sits, arms folded, eyebrows raised at what she is witnessing. I have to say the little actress looks exactly like Gala/Rebeca. Then Angel recalls a recent conversation with Monica, who upbraids and insults her. No, she says, shaking her head. Rolling up her sleeves, Angel promises to fight.

Mati shows Sandy her artwork as they discuss Lucas. Fatima comes up and Mati morphs into her previously nasty persona, blaming Angel for her parents’ problems. I hate you she screams!

Doris, in a hot pink number, tries to entice Icky but he seems disinterested, at least initially. She accuses him of his lack of interest and he goes on about his seeing Jimena today. He seems to cave but too little too late. She leaves him there on the couch.

Renato visits Jimena and they discuss Angel, Je and Rebecca.

It appears Monica and Rebeca’s plan is coming to fruition. Rebeca is stationed outside as Monica calls her. It seems Cris is on the move and it’s ready for things to begin. Monica calls someone and says something about Rebeca. Monica takes a gulp of her ever-present cocktail and stares stonily.

We see Cris in her car, suddenly surrounded by masked men with guns. Rebeca “runs” to Cris’ aid but one the men hits her. I believe she tells him she is part of the plan but this version seems to differ from what she thought was in the blueprints. The masked thugs are screaming at Cris.

JE shows up at Angel’s door as we end for today…

73.) Fallout of Slacker Selene's bombshell revealing that the late Rafael was the father of Slacker Berta's baby continues to cause Jeronimo's head to spin out of control.

74.) The Welcome Back to Freedom Special for Honorio is ruined by Psycho Fina, whose sourpuss face ruins everything.

76.) Psycho Fina plotting to destroy Regina even further, vowing to make both Regina & Gonzalo pay. Fina is like some triggered high school expletive.

77.) Nutjob Augie planning to up the ante even further by destroying the vines at La Bonita & causing more chaos.

78.) Chema explaining on the phone to Adriana about not being involved of sleeping with Connie, but he cannot stop thinking about Adriana too. Matias looked like he's about to explode.

83.) Matias welcomes Regina to the Monterrubio Family. Yet, Honorio prefers to be staying in Adriana's apartment, wallowing in pity & bitterness to suffer considering he put himself in the situation of being involved with Nutty Blanca.

LAS TONTAS NO VAN AL CIELO

If you are interested in lighter more comedic telenovela fare, you might want to try “Las tontas no van al cielo.” It is an oldie but a goodie.

Vivir. Another great recap, Diana! I especially loved your "no vial of fake blood available." The actor playing Mauricio and the one playing JE look remarkably alike. They could be father and son. I too loved how d. Emilio showed that he is pretty sure Mauricio is faking his illness. Hmm. Misael is blackmailing Romina. To accuse her of embezzlement? It was heartbreaking that Ramiro was murdered, especially as he has just recounted his sad life story to Santiago, and Santiago has offered to pay for him to finish his technical education. Now that he's dead, will Ramiro be a convenient person to blame or Dulce's death? Or is he dead? Hmm. Rebeca is still acting like a tyrannical boss at the restaurant though she doesn't own it. After that flashback, I'm surprised Angelli doesn't recognize Rebeca as her sister Frida, who evidently has always been nasty. Wonder if those thugs will turn out to be the ones hired by Rebeca and Monica, or if they are truly out to rob and injure Cristina and anyone else in the vicinity.

VIVIR

SpanProf, thank you so much.

Don Emilio shone today, no pulling the wool over his eyes! Eric del Castillo still has it!

"Or is he dead?" I'm so glad you mentioned that. For a moment, I wondered the same thing, thinking perhaps Brayan had pulled something off "inside". The stabbing looked brutal though. Still, over on Vida, the galan had a similar shiving the other day and recovered as if it were only a scratch! I hadn't understood their conversation so thank you for sharing Ramiro's sad story. At least Santiago showed some kindness to him.

"Now that he's dead, will Ramiro be a convenient person to blame for Dulce's death?" sounds just about right SpanProf. The dead can tell no tales and can't defend themselves...

Diana, my hero, thank you for another remarkable retelling as this story heats up. I appreciate all the time and talent you have been in selfishly devoting to bring these excellent recaps to us .

I sincerely hope that Ramiro isn't dead . I was shocked when it appeared that he was attacked and seemingly dead right after Santi left the cell . We all seem to consider Ramiro a poor soul who has been drawn into this mess but seems to have a good heart saving Lucas from jail and being protective of Santi when he entered the cell . Ramiro seems to be a natural big brother . I want to see his goodness rewarded in the end with support from Santi's family . I dont want his storyline to end.

The best part of this episode to me was sly, wry Don Emilio mimic the Cough Faker with his own fake cough. That gave me a giggle.

I also enjoyed Mau hiding behind that little tree trying to get the lay of the land as he observed Refrida and Monica . He surely knows Monica is a viper, so he is figuring this new chick is more of the same. I loved Mau dismissing Refrida when she approached him as if she were an annoying fly as he grinned and walked right past her .

It looked like hothead JE ( Just Egotistical) planted a punch on Renato. By the way, I think this actor is looking good compared to his look in the butterfly novela where he was a bit nerdy and lack luster.

Regarding Kim's portrayal as the good girl, it appears that her villain roles have given her the ability to add some spice to this good girl role.

VIVIR

Thank you for your sweet words Susan.

"I don't want his (Ramiro's) storyling to end" either! It would have been nice if he'd had the opportunity to live a good life. His heart always seemed to be in the right place.

I am waiting to see how Doris is going to react to Ramiro's death. She will quickly put two and two together, but what will she do with it?

"JE (Just Egotistical)" 😊

I'm actually starting to like Renato, who while not exactly warm and fuzzy, stands up when it matters. No wonder Gi and Elena like him so much.

I'm glad Kim is showing spunk in her role. I hope she doesn't cave (at least right away) to JE and gives him a run for his money.

Diana

vivir

Thanks again, Diana. Another excellent recap!

What would telenovela writers do without making every character show jealousy? Just when Luciano and Fatima were doing so well, she gets jealous when he says that his ex was ambitious, but honest. I think Romina might have blown the whistle on Misael by now if he hadn't threatened to blame the whole $50 million fraud on her. He scared her badly, and it looks like she'll keep covering up the fraud.

Whoa. Gabriela's computer got wiped and Sebastian can't get the information he needs to dig deeper. Sebastian is surely going to suspect an inside job.

Ramiro IIRC told Santiago that he was un chivo expiatorio (scapegoat) so the murder of Dulce wouldn't be pinned on someone else. Well, I wonder how Doris is going to react when she hears he died in prison because she got him drunk and forced him into that tattoo? It's her fault (and Refrida's) that he died. I'm pretty sure he died. It's too soon for Misael's evil deeds to come to light.

Iker, sigh. He wasn't just critical of Jimena's outfit and makeup, he was jealous. Guess she's supposed to sit hime and pine for him instead of show up to a job and look good.

Refrida told J.E. that Angelli wasn't there at the restaurant, obviously not that she was washing dishes because that's the job Refrida gave her.

Ha! With the fake holdup or whatever it was, Monica told the guys not to take it easy on Refrida. Good!

Vivir de amor

Diana, busy, busy day today, and I am only now reading your great recap (one day English Lit majors will read your recaps in a survey of Great Literature class, I'm sure of it!) and watching today's episode, pausing occasionally.

Don Emilio coughing into his jacket was a hoot! About JE, I could care less. The guy is a loser, and Angel would be better off without him. This was another episode wherein he assaulted someone. The guy should be arrested. I was hoping Renato would deck him. Incidentally, Renato must be a saver rather than a spender, he seems to have a few bucks or pesos.

I'm not yet completely convinced that Marino is dead, but it could just be a little added nastiness, to offer us a tiny glimmer of hope and then tomorrow take it away. If I sound a bit annoyed with some things in this novela it's only because I am annoyed with some things in this novela. We'll see.
But his death seems a bit too tidy, with some sort of death notice or certificate coming up on his (public defender?) lawyer's computer screen. That was fast.
And where is Agente Corral? Maybe my hopes for her were unrealistic.
And Misael has definitely turned to the dark side, now willing to "eliminate" people.

Refrida thinks she is going to get the better of Monica and get JE for herself. I don't know if she will get the better of Monica, but I hope she does get JE, it would serve her right.

I hope we see some gears turning in Doris' head. So far she has been doing bad things for Rebeca, but I don't know that she's aware of how bad they are.

I don't yet have Mauricio figured out. He's definitely no saint, but beyond that I don't know yet.

I will try to finish up watching in the morning. (Late morning, I am not a morning person.)

But I get more from your recaps and from the comments anyway. I only watch to check out the good-looking women  :-)

Andy

Vivir

Thank you Diana, for another wonderful recap! You are beyond generous bringing us daily recaps of all the drama!

It was kind of weird the way Ramiro died... I'd like to believe he's alive!!! I don't believe it, but I'd like to! Mostly because I'd like to see something out of the box... I'd like to see Bruno being an undercover cop - the whole time he's pretending to be a snake like Misael but really he's gathering evidence, so he puts in a call to his peeps and tells them to fake Ramiro's death and get him in protective custody!!!! To be clear, this isn't my guess for what happened, it would just be cool and different if it were true!

JE is really a dumbass! I'm with Andy, can't stand him!!! But it's the writing. Let's recap: A mystery note tells him his bro-in-law killed his sister with his wife's help and he immediately goes all vitrol and nastiness accusing Angel of horrible things. They reconcile but then Rebeca (who he barely knows and shouldn't trust) tells him that Angel helped Santi escape jail - which involves hiring someone to stab Santi and take out a guard; and again, JE believes this hook, line and sinker without hesitation and goes all nasty!!!! Fast forward to today - someone he doesn't know (Lucas) tells Aldolfo that someone else he doesn't know (Ramiro) is innocent and has been framed. JE's IMMEDIATE response was: 'We have to call the cops and get them to investigate!!!!' What??? Like What???? You immediately believe the worst of those you love, but you are just as quick to give the benefit of the doubt to a stranger! It's so stupid it's funny!!! But also sad, since JE's doubt and wanting to investigate is why Ramiro is dead.

Speaking of Santi, he gets released after paying a fine!!! (I think though he might be out on bail it's unclear) Apparently in novelaland the punishment for jail break is a monetary fine!!! I'm assuming only if you end up innocent of the crime you were originally jailed for - I actually have no argument with that come to think of it. Pay your jailbreak fine and go home.

Luciano actually said he wasn't defending Romina because she's his ex or the mother of his children, but because she's so obsessed with her career. She would do ANYTHING, including abandoning her family in order to achieve her career goals, Luci doesn't think that Romina would be involved with fraud and jeopardize her career. Fatima's hyper jealousy of a woman Luciano clearly detests is annoying.

I have to say, and I mean I HAVE to say, it was a nice little cameo of Christian de la Campa!!! :) He was so cute with little Angel in that memory and even trying unsuccessfully to draw in little grumpy Frida! I bet he'd be a good daddy, or he's just a great actor! Perhaps both! Highlight of the episode for me, sorry not sorry! #obsessed

"VIVIR":

Darcy: Let me guess. The Body Count increasing again ?

VIVIR

Novelera, thank you very much! You added so many useful nuggets of information as always...

Luciano really has no reason to think Romina is embroiled in anything nefarious. I agree that Romina might have done the right thing but is clearly terrified.

I hadn't realized Gabriela's computer was "cleaned" - thank you!

"Ramiro IIRC told Santiago that he was un chivo expiatorio (scapegoat)"; he understood perfectly.

So Monica didn't have Rebeca "spared" in the drama that will continue today...

Thank you for relating so many important details!

Diana

VIVIR

Andy, you really are too kind. You always lift my spirits immeasurably.

Your astute, wry observations are on fire today.

"I'm not yet completely convinced that Marino is dead, but it could just be a little added nastiness, to offer us a tiny glimmer of hope and then tomorrow take it away" was perfect. So you have a shade of doubt too! Would there have been anyone willing to "save" Ramiro? Brayan wouldn't have the clout. I thought for a second it might be Adolfo but he seemed shocked at the death. Is there anyone we aren't considering?? Hmmm, maybe Agent Corral might have been keeping her eye on him??

I thought the same thing; Misael has turned the corner and is now irredeemable. At least in my mind.

I am thinking Doris is going to be remorseful and guilty over Ramiro's death. But will she step up and tell what she knows??? My Magic 8 ball says "cloudy". :)

Mau has a nose for gossip and it's amazing how much he's learned in the few scant hours he's been there! If only he would use his sleuthing prowess for good.

I so appreciate everything wry and wonderful that you add to our story, every single day.

Diana

VIVIR

Thank you Darcy!

Your insight and understanding of the characters and action is amazing. Thank you for all you so generously add each day.

I would love it if your scenerio that Ramiro being in protective custody were true!

We all seem to be in agreement that JE is loathsome. Your intuitive rant "...someone he doesn't know (Lucas) tells Aldolfo that someone else he doesn't know (Ramiro) is innocent and has been framed. JE's IMMEDIATE response was: 'We have to call the cops and get them to investigate!!!!'...You immediately believe the worst of those you love, but you are just as quick to give the benefit of the doubt to a stranger!" was marvelous and exactly right. And as you noted, how tragic that this rfesulted in Ramiro's death.

I was thinking of you while watching Christian de la Campa being"...so cute with little Angel in that memory and even trying unsuccessfully to draw in little grumpy Frida!" I can definitely see why you are so attracted to him. Glad that made your night! :)

Diana

Vivir

Darcy, I thought of you when Christian popped up in Angel's flashback . He was the real galan of the show we watched on Telemundo . Wish he didn't have that had on so we could have seen his nice head of hair. The little girl playing young Frida dies resemble grown up Refrida complete with the tiny frown . The little girl playing young Angel is adorable .

Vivir

Thanks so much Diana. I enjoyed your recap and everyone’s thoughts. I hate that Ramiro was killed, but sadly I do think he’s dead. It would have been great for him and Santiago to work together on the crime. Except Santiago already knows the true story and should have told the police immediately.

I think Rebeca told JE that Angel wasn’t at the restaurant and that she was with Renato. And JE always believes her. She didn’t mention she was in charge now, which would maybe make him start wondering about her. As it is, he takes everything at face value.

I didn’t know what Rebeca and Monica were planning but why did they set Chris up? I would have thought she’d want Elena to be grateful for saving her. Or does she want to make Chris and JE grateful? Either way JE deserves Rebeca. I’d love to see Angel move on and JE stuck with Rebeca and Misael’s baby.

Don Emilio is one of the few in this telenovela that seems to be a good judge of character. Loved his cough. Can’t wait till he meets Rebeca and learns JE was in bed with her.

Liz

Vivir

Diana, thanks for the goings-on and the super snark. I loved "Icky is his usual, nasty self, criticizing Jimena’s clothes and her makeup as their son watches this s**t show."

Such a shame about Ramiro. Poor man had no protector like Santiago did. I hold Santiago partially responsible too.

Now that Rebecca has fearlessly protected Cris from harm, she needs to drop this feat from her playbook. She's already done this with Elena. Wondering who'll be the first to ask why Rebecca is always there (for no logical reason) when an attack is about to go down.

Monica must have a fabulous contact list of the bad and corrupt. The woman does get people who deliver.

VIVIR

Liz, thanks so much.

I hadn't realized Rebeca told JE that Angel was with Renato; you are right, he believes every word out of her lying, malicious mouth!!

"I’d love to see Angel move on and JE stuck with Rebeca and Misael’s baby". HA! :)

Monica is insanely jealous of Cris and Angel. She knows her husband still has his heart on Cris. How this is going to help her frame JE for Dulce's death or why she set this up to begin with is still way beyond me.

Diana

VIVIR

Thanks so much Niecie.

Your insight on Ramiro having "no protector" was spot on as always.

Yes, I say laughing Monica DOES have a "fabulous contact list of the bad and corrupt". Talk about dialing a "friend"! :)

Diana

VIVIR #27 Part 1

I was admittedly lost in the fine and not so fine details today. Kindly correct and or fill in if you can.

Angel arrives home to be accosted by JE. Why are you here she manages? Renato and then Rebeca are brought up. JE begs her to return, he doesn’t care about Rebeca. He blames the tequila as the guilty party for what transpired with Rebeca as he continues to plead. Angel throws the tequila excuse down the drain (so to speak). You are the love of my life, my wife, my woman, my reason to live he murmurs. Te amo; I love you with all my heart. Then, surely my eyes are deceiving me. Nopis, she actually gives in and they share a long, lingering kiss!

Monica and Don Emilio start chatting when Cris walks in with Rebeca sporting a bloody nose! Cris is giving her the due she doesn’t deserve for “saving” her.

JE admits he is an imbecile and begs Angel for another chance. He says he is desperate (for once I believe him) but Angel can’t forget what he did. “Esta bien” he says but doesn’t want a divorce. Good night she says firmly, and then repeats it until he finally goes to leave.

Lupe and Luis are watching TV when Lucas comes in crying. “What is it son” he asks. At first, Lupe starts in on Brayan and the gang. Eventually, a shaken Lucas tells them about Ramiro.

Santiago and Misael are at a restaurant when Santiago says that Ramiro was innocent. Does Misael say something about some things being out of their control (namely Ramiro?).

JE arrives home to witness the continuation of Rebeca’s pathetic performance. Cris is smoothing Rebeca’s hair and the two put their arms on each other as my stomach roils. Don Emilio seems to be somewhat skeptical when (to my complete disgust), even JE jumps on the Rebeca bandwagon. Mau enters as Don Emilio looks at the floor. Cris tells him what happened and Mau seems to shake his head, somewhat knowingly. That catches Cris’ attention, who then asks if they know each other. No, Mau lies and Rebeca responds in kind.

Lucas is heartbroken and at first rebuffs his mother’s hug, but then accepts his parents’ consolation.

The little play of horrors finally concludes as JE looks on SO concerned about Rebeca. As we’ve discussed, he believes this snake in the grass but when it comes to the supposed love of his life, he rejects and insults her.

Alma finds papers Rebeca must have stashed. If anyone can shed any light on exactly what these are, kindly do so.

Rebeca asks Misael about framing JE and “babys” him, stroking his face, diverting his attention with kisses.

Lucas marches into Doris’ shop and confronts her blaming her for Ramiro’s death! Doris looks impactada…

Gi, Renato and Angel (now my favorite three musketeers) are talking and Renato grabs her hand as Gi seems to smile approvingly. Angel talks about her father. They seem to be planning something but I didn’t understand the gist of the conversation.

Adolfo meets with JE and Misael talking about the presidency as Misael smirks.

Monica sees Mau in the hall and starts in, raising her eyebrows, saying something about Adolfo. He lets her know he knew about her plan to scare and harm Cris as she looks nervous and plays with her neck.

Diana

VIVIR #27 Part 2 of 2

Angel and Gi are driving but Gi looks distracted. She is thinking about Angel’s sister, Frida. Angel flashes back to the scene where Elena was freaking out after Frida’s supposed death. She and Gi have arrived at their destination and get out of the car.

Elena and Jimena talk. Jimena tells her Rebeca doesn’t want Angel at the restaurant but Elena doesn’t want to hear it.

Doris is pacing as Rebeca enters, but when she goes to hug her, Doris holds her back demanding to know what happened to Ramiro.

Mati gets a message from Lucas begging her to call him.

Romina confronts Fatima and Luciano. They talk about divorce and the children as Mati comes up. Romina hugs her daughter (half-heartedly I’m sure) as Fatima fumes.

Misael goes looking for Romina but she’s not at work. Sebastain asks if he can help. Bruno slithers up on his belly and asks what is up. Misael says it’s Romina. Bruno tries to calm Misael’s paranoia but it doesn’t work as he goes on about JE and Romina.

Adolfo and JE talk. I thought JE actually said Cris is in love with Adolfo (?) but Adolfo reminds him Misael is his father and gallantly asks JE to give him a chance. Obviously he never saw JE’s treatment of his “adored” wife otherwise, he’d realize what an exercise in futility his request was. Unsurprisingly, JE says in effect, no way in hell.

Mau is sitting with Cris, Monica and Don Emilio. Don Emilio calls Mau “senor” and Monica calls him a convict as DE sort of smiles. Cris’ birthday is coming up and Mau wants to do something special.

Doris lays into Rebeca and Rebeca does appear to be genuinely taken aback, but only for an instant. Rebeca cold-bloodedly seems to say that he was in jail and was murdered and urged Doris not to make problems where there aren’t any. Rebeca calls Ramiro an idiot. Unfortunately, Rebeca seems to convince Doris they are not responsible.

Angel is wandering the cemetery as Elena is at her desk, touching the picture of her family that includes her husband and Frida. Then, Angel runs smack into Alma. “What are you doing here” Angel asks?? I’m visiting the tomb of my sobrina is the answer. Angel tells her about her sister Frida and Alma has the grace to at least look quite guilty. Gi comes up and tells Angel they must leave. Angel holds out her hand to Alma as Gi looks on suspiciously. Alma sits on the tombstone and cries.

Lupe, Angel and the fabrica workers are celebrating all they’ve accomplished. Production is up and running, the fresh fruit is being inspected by the gowned and masked workers. Angel wanderers the rows thinking about seeing Rebeca and JE in bed.

Adolfo asks JE if he is back with Angel. JE admits he was with another woman, Rebeca! Adolfo seems to be connecting the dots about Rebeca…

Meanwhile, Rebeca is throwing up, staring at herself in the mirror.

In the final scene, Adolfo warns JE about Rebeca. The last shot we see is of a skeptical JE…

Diana

Vivir. Great comments on yesterday's episode, novelera. I've missed you. Right on about novela jealousy. Great idea about Bruno's being an undercover cop, Darcy, but I don't think this novela is that creative. Now to today's episode: I'm still trying to figure out all the family relationships. I hope they fall into place for me before the novela is finished. At least JE finally explains to Angelli what happened between him and Rebeca. Marriage counseling, anyone? It was Misael who told Santiago that Ramiro is dead. I'm surprised that with all the obvious clues (Rebeca's appearance, Rebeca's mistreatment of Angelli, Alma at the cemetery, etc) that no one has figured out Rebeca's true identity. Ah, novela characters. Stupid when the writers need them to be! Once again don Emilio is suspicious of what is really going on. What did Alma do to Loli's family? Must have occurred before I started watching. Angeli is a good manager. How will Rebeca mess things up? And finally Rebeca has a few more pregnancy symptoms. I was beginning to think the writers had forgotten.

The best-laid schemes of mice and men
Go oft awry

Mine for today did. I did manage to read your recap, and enjoyed it greatly, despite there not being much hope for Ramiro. Maybe he can come back as a ghost. I will get to watch the recording sometime this weekend, maybe tonight, but first I have to see a friend who thinks he has the solution to all the many problems in the world today.
Obviously, he needs an intervention.

SpanProf, the familial relationships here do take a bit of time to absorb.

As you noted, no one seems to have picked up on all the clues of Rebeca's "origins". I do think though that Gi is suspicious but has yet to fit all the pieces together.

Alma actually likes Marisa and Loli. She had offered them Rebeca's room when they lost their home. When Rebeca came back and saw them, she was the one who threw a fit.

Andy,

Thank you for your kind support.

I do agree and fear there is no chance that Ramiro is alive...

Have a good time with your friend!

Vivir. Although in Novelaland anything is possible, except everyone behaving sensibly. :)

Dear Diana, thank you for another wonderful review . This show is moving along .

I am mostly focusing on the new guy Mau . He always has that smirk on his face and doesn't seem to feel at all uncomfortable in the midst of this family after his misdeeds. I also like how smug he looks when observing Refrida. He also isn't intimidated by yapping Monica .

So, Adolfo also seems to have Refrida's number. Good.

JE is a dim bulb. I have already come up with my own ending ...Angel marries Renato , and they have two little girls whom Renato teaches to cook. El Fin

When I see Doris's little shop, I am reminded of " Fuega en la Sangre." Someone here at Caray named the three sisters' gift shop " Crap from Afar." That always gave me a giggle.

VIVIR

Thanks so much Susan!

Mau "doesn't seem to feel at all uncomfortble in the midst of this family misdeeds" hits the nail on the head.

I like your scenario about Angel and Renato but as you know, TN law of the leads ending up together will likely happen. But the good news is that Jimena is available and she is lovely.

I remember the FELS shop very well! I think I actually referred to Doris' shop as such in one of the previous episodes. It makes me laugh too! 😊

Thanks, Diana. Always a pleasure reading your fine recaps.

After taking accolades from the family for her bravery to protect Cris from thugs, Rebecca angled to get a ride home from JE. But he came up with an excuse not too, looking ungracious if you don't know Rebecca's scamming. Of course, Misael pipes in he'll take her home and Mauricio is onto this.

When JE was confessing to Adolfo about (not) bedding Rebecca, Adolfo looked so horrified. Even though he outwardly encouraged JE to keep trying to make amends, I'm betting he was thinking "Hombre, you've got a snowball's chance in hell of being forgiven."

Does Mauricio care about the murder of Dulce and her baby? Will he find redemption and take on Misael and Rebecca, or will he fall in with the bad guys?

"CUANDO ME ENAMORO" HIGHLIGHTS DISCUSSION:

Howdy from the Alamo City CarayCaray Family. Here's my super-short recap of this morning's episode.

*Psycho Fina explaining to Slacker Berta about her heinous actions including crimes & misdemeanors.

*Flashbacks of Regina & Fina giving birth to Renata & Slacker Berta respectively.

*Flashback of Fina nagging at Roberto.

*Flashback of Fina revealing Roberto's dirty little secret in front of Gina & Cata.

*Flashback of Fina killing Roberto by shoving him into the windows of some convenient store.

*Renata arrives in Mexico City; She brings her suitcase to Adriana's empty apartment.

Thanks, Diana, that was great. Apparently Adolfo seems pretty smart, aside from choosing Monica over Cris, he might be the one to figure out who the bad guys are. Including his wife and son.

If the paper you’re talking about is the one Marisa found in the bedroom, I think it was the death certificate for Alma’s child, named Rebeca.

I’m glad JE didn’t drive Rebeca home. And Misael jumped in to do it.

Not sure why Angel and Gi were in the cemetery. But if she’d looked at the dates of Alma’s daughter she would have realized Rebeca couldn’t have been given the same name as her sister after she died. I’m assuming the two Rebeca’s are close in age.

I don’t think Mauricio is to concerned about the death of his daughter. He seems to be figuring out what he can do to Cris and family next. He seems to enjoy stirring things up.

Doris has to be bothered by Ramiro’s death. But I hope the gang, or Brayan, go after Rebeca.

Niecie, thank you so much.

Thank you for noting all that Mau appears to be picking up on.

Adolfo did look thunderstruck by JE's revelations. He seems to be a good man...

Niecie, I may be alone in thinking Mau is scum. He seems to be highly resentful of Cris and the fake blood thing really turned me off. If he cared about Dulce, wouldn't that have been one of the first things he'd bring up? I could be all wrong but to be honest, if Don Emilio doesn't like you, then neither do I! 😊

Diana

VIVIR

Liz, thank you...

I agree Adolfo is smart and should be instrumental in finding the truth in all this madness.

So Marisa found Rebeca's, Alma's birth child's death certificate. Thank you so much, I was totally lost there.

No, I don't think Mau is concerned in Dulce's death either. I'm going out on a limb but I think Mau is bad news. I'm likely wrong and it certainly won't be the first time. He certainly has Rebeca's number though...

Thanks again, Diana. I really enjoyed your recap.

Wow. Santiago is too dumb to live. Misael outright admitted to him that he had Ramiro "eliminated" and the dumbest younger brother in TN history just looks shocked but keeps playing ball with Misael's schemes.

I was also a bit confused about the "event" Angelli was organizing. I thought it was food for some kind of high-end event to help promote the restaurant. It's possible that still happens, but it looked it it was some announcement about the women's cooperative making marmalade.

Actually, Elena was astonished when Gi told her Rebeca had Angelli washing dishes. She said she didn't undrestand the animosity Refrida had toward her daughter. Glad to see she's not THAT dumb.

Loved "Bruno slithering in" to talk with Misael.

What I was thinking when JE confided in his uncle, Adolfo, was that Adolfo saw the same thing happening all over again. He told him to stay far away from Rebeca. I'm pretty sure from what's been said lately that Monica seduced him and stole him away from his true love, Cris. They've shown his hesitant feelings for Cris all along. He sees JE falling into the same trap and wants to warn him.

Refrida has zero feelings for anyone. We saw what she did in the very first episode, throwing Angelli's doll over a fence. We just saw a flashback where we saw her sulking and resenting her sister when she was 5 years old. So her only objective was to shut Doris up. In typical telenovela style, Doris only offers a feeble protest about Refrida insisting they had nothing to do with Ramiro's death.

VIVIR

Thank you Novelera. I so appreciate all of the important points you supplied!

"Wow. Santiago is too dumb to live" had me chuckling away this morning. So Misael did tell him he had Ramiro killed! I thought so by Santiago's expression but didn't understand the wrods.

I hadn't realized Gi told Elena Angel was washing dishes! I thought if she had, Elena would have run down there and fixed things. Apparently Elena only acts where her precious Santiago is concerned. What is wrong with her??? Further, she knows Rebeca loathes Angel. Why is she not defending Angel, her DAUGHTER?

I appreciate your providing insight on Adolfo's concern over JE's situation.

I did think Doris would be upset and angry about Refrida purposely involving her in Ramiro's arrest and now, senseless death. I didn't think she was so malleable.

I find Mau intriguing because we don't know much about him. Now he has convinced Chris that he is sick and managed to get back into the house . He seems to not be connected to anyone ...A loose cannon , but he is quietly observing everyone . He doesn't seem like a good guy , so I suppose he will at some point unite with one or all of the villains . He doesn't appear to have been affected in any way by the loss of his daughter Dulce and his grandchild which is cold and dusturbing. How will he fit into the puzzle? My hope is that he starts interfering with the schemes maybe trying to become a part of them .

Well, looks like the ladies are making some marmalade . I saw lots of strawberry inspecting . Strawberry jam ??? I live near a pick-your-own berry farm. So the ranch produces strawberries .

Thank you Diana! I love your reactions - especially your disbelief of Angel giving into that kiss!!! I was right there with you, but in a way I understand. Your entire world goes upset down again and again and again. In a novela, so not one but every aspect of your life is in upheaval and ruin, who wouldn't want to escape that and pretend love is true and everything is right with the world for a few seconds? I'm sure a part of Angel wants to just escape into that kiss and pretend the rest of the horror doesn't exist!!!

I agree with Novelera, Aldofo is recognizing his own life.... he might even be catching on to, suspecting the mechanics of this. When Monica and Mau were talking he mentioned how he had previously played a role in helping Monica seduce Aldolfo away from Cris!!! So we've said that Al chose Monica over Cris, but I don't think that's what happened. History might literally be repeating itself and Monica pulled the drugged the guy into bed trick with Al too! I saw this because of how horrified he looked at JE's account of 'I don't even remember what happened', I think that's why he advised JE to stay far away from Refrida. Maybe Al was trying to win Cris back while also trying to be polite to Monica and it was his undoing... so Monica wanted Al and didn't just settle for him!! Hmm, I wonder if it was as simple as wanting him because Cris had him like Refrida's mission with JE? Monica doesn't seem to have any real affection for Al now.

Angel didn't believe JE's tequila story because apparently JE is a man who can hold his booze! She said he drank almost a whole bottle himself at Dulce's wedding!!! So the drug is the sticking point, JE doesn't know he was drugged and not just drunk and Angel doesn't believe he could be drunk enough to blame it on the booze!

Refrida did two things with Doris. First, she tried the argument that Ramiro was a gangster and thief and that he was going to end up dead sooner or later anyway because that's how they end up so they shouldn't feel that bad about hastening the inevitable. And second, she reminded her that this trick was meant for BRAYAN and it's not Refrida's fault that Doris chose Ramiro and not Brayan like SHE intended....cold, calculated and heartless! That's our Frida!

Liz, at the grave site Alma told Angel that the grave was for her niece Rebeca and that she'd named Rebeca after her niece so the close dates won't seem strange to Angel, unfortunately. It should seem strange to Marisa though, looking at the death certificate and knowing the other Rebeca is Alma's daughter. But then I guess all the neighborhood people know that Alma lost her Rebeca and 'replaced' her with missing/kidnapped Frida and they just don't care?? I know I've stated it several times, but I think it all happened before SpanProf started watching so I will list the happenings of Frida's aduction in case it's helpful. I still don't understand how NO ONE (except for Refrida) has anything to say about how Alma kept Refrida, a missing child, all those years and never ever reported her to the police. She was kidnapped from the amusement park by criminals, managed to escape the quicksand death the criminals got, then found by Alma and Antonio who just kept her!!! She was still a kidnapped child, and they essentially became second-hand kidnappers and the whole neighborhood is A okay with this!!! They should have returned her to her Elena who has spent 20+ years mourning and wondering what happened to her daughter!

Vivir

Darcy, I am always impressed by how analytically you look at these novelas. You catch every detail , and you pull everything apart for careful study. I have seen you do this over and over again for different novelas ever since you came to Caray. I always enjoy reading your comments .
Susan

VIVIR

Susan, yes, Mau's non-reaction about his child's death speaks volumes.

He certainly doesn't seem to be affected as you wisely noted.

To me, that is a major red flag.

I also agree wholeheartedly with your comment regarding Darcy. She is unfailingly insightful, understands everything that occurs and recounts it in meticulous, accurate detail. I always learn so much from her.

Diana

VIVIR

Darcy, thank you; I so appreciate your razor sharp insight!

I believe you saw inside Angel's head and heart in responding to JE's kiss. I was aghast but only because JE is so very unworthy of her love. She is a gem and deserves to be treasured, not trashed. I blame him for taking advantage of her vulnerability.

Reading your account of what likely happened between Adolfo, Cris and Monica leaves no doubt that is likely exactly what occurred!

I actually shivered after reading what Rebeca told Doris: "First, she tried the argument that Ramiro was a gangster and thief and that he was going to end up dead sooner or later anyway because that's how they end up so they shouldn't feel that bad about hastening the inevitable. And second, she reminded her that this trick was meant for BRAYAN and it's not Refrida's fault that Doris chose Ramiro and not Brayan like SHE intended....cold, calculated and heartless!" Oh my, that was so much worse than I envisioned. Rebeca is monstrous, devoid of any empathy and compassion.

Thank you for the details of the death certificate as I strugged to glean anything during that scene.

Darcy, once again, you've illuminated so much! Now, I'm wiser albeit sadder at the devious treachery underfoot.

Diana

Darcy, thanks for a deeper insight. Goodness, Rebecca has no heart. I knew that, but the details hit it home.

So Angel scoffs at JE claiming he was too drunk to know what he was doing. As someone pointed out earlier, Rebecca actually could've killed JE with a bad brew of drugs and alcohol. How the truth of being drugged and no sex will be found out beats me, but now I'm sure Angel and JE will have a HEA. I had wondered if this TN would break tradition and have Angel ride off alone or with Renato. JE, you better get busy doing something so that Viewerville can stomach this HEA.

Thinking about the mothers. Cris and Elena are both loving and kind to their kids, but Elena holds baby Santiago accountable for nothing and is too giving to someone screwing over her daughter. Lupe is loving and kind to Lucas but at the same time takes no crap from him. As for Monica, forget about it.

Vivir

Thank you Susan, Diana, and Niece! I appreciate hearing that my insight is helpful. Sometimes I just think I think too much, and not just about novelas, but in every area of life. I do tend to analyze everything! I would call it an occupational hazard; as I am an analyst, but to be honest I have been analyzing everything since I was a child. It's probably not always helpful but it is who I was created to be and it's how my mind works so I will accept it and just be grateful that my analysis is helpful to the patio!

vivir

Crockpot theory here. I was intrigued by Monica's worried expression when Mauricio, who seems to be more than a match for Monica, mentioned something he knows. Could Misael be Mauricio's spawn? Could she have enlisted him to impregnate her so as to steal her sister's man? Might explain why the good things about Adolfo haven't shown up in Misael.

Vivir....Novelera, yes, Bingo ....I have been thinking the same thing . The Bad Seed Misael is more likely the result of a coupling of Monica and Mau than Monica and good guy Al. That would be a bingo square .
Susan

Vivir

That would make JE and Miserable half brothers instead of primos. ...unless JE is Alfonso's son. Wouldn't that be a twist .
Susan

Vivir de amor & OT

Wow! That was quite a chapter. It certainly does look like Marino is dead. But there was lots more, and I'm glad I had read Diana's recap and all the comments first so that I didn't miss anything, or at least not much.

As Darcy pointed out, Adolfo really did look like he knew JE's story already, probably from personal experience. It does explain a whole lot.
I don't see Misael struggling with guilt over the "elimination". That was fast.

After reading the comments I think it would be good if we could get DNA samples from everybody in these families.

I get annoyed with this novela sometimes -- often, actually, but it is sure not without mysteries to unravel.

Well, I think the patio has just about covered everything, mostly stuff that did not occur to me until I read the recap and comments, so I'll stop here.

I wish everybody a Happy Easter; be kind to the Easter Bunny.

Vivir #27

Diana,
great job.

I'm late and don't have anything really new to add, only that Mauricio will likely be up to no good. He also seems to have Monica's number so this should be interesting.
