VIDA Ep. 49 Part 1

Lucia confides in Pepe about her concern for Emi. She tells him that something is happening in Emi's family and she thinks something is seriously wrong with Paula. When she asks if Paula has shared anything with him, Pepe tells her "no, nothing." (Now let me just digress for a bit --Pepe has seen Paula faint, be extremely tired, look pale, lose hair...and she even mentioned "death"---and this man has no clue about what may be going on???? ARGHHH!! Okay now onward we go...) Pepe asks if Lucia knows anything, but she doesn't. All she knows is that Emi looked very sad and depressed. She then shares about the problems Emi had with drinking and partying too much.

Isa and Gracia continue their girl talk. IsaSCARED tells Gracia that Alex has always known that Rafa is Lor's. He remained quiet all these years because he loved her and to keep the family togetherl Alex loved Rafa as his own son. She adds that Alex doesn't deserve what she is doing to him--she kissed Lor! CARA IMPACTADA from Gracia (best I've seen--her eyes almost popped out!)

Alex sees Rafa and imagines Rafa as a child telling him he is the best dad in the world. He then sees his grown son telling him that he has always been there for him like no one else and that makes him the best dad in the world, Alex is touched and tells Rafa that he needed to hear him say that. Rafa wonders what will happen with his parents; so Alex tells him that he will love his mother until his last day. Rafa then apologizes for having let Alex down...he went to work for Lor even after Alex told him not to. Rafa then assures his father that he is on his side and he will make sure Lor regrets having returned.

Emi is researching brain tumors when Diego walks in wanting to convince Emi that they need to go tell their mother about Nat now that Nat is there, but Emi argues that their mother can take care of herself...and they can't give their mother any more problems. Diego is determined and runs out to tell his mother about Nat. On the way, he sees Rol and comments that "when a scorpion is near, its mate appears."

Lor and Paula are questioning Nat who lies through her fangs and tries to tell Paula that because she was so ill, she wanted to bring her mother to help Paula, but she knew Paula would not accept her help. Paula, however, knows that Nat is lying because she clearly remembers Nat telling her that her parents were dead. If Nat never talked about her mother, it must be because Nat is ashamed of her mother. As Paula continues berating Nat for not appreciating her mother, Diego storms in and tells Paula that "that woman" is Rol's lover! (even the music reverberates--Ta Ta Tum!)

Pepe and Lucia continue their talk. Lucia assures that Emi has treated her well, she's just worried that Emi might revert to drinking since he looked so sad. When Pepe mentions addiction, Lucia assures that Emi is not an addict.

 

Ep. 49 Part 2

Isabel gets all giddy as she relates how she felt about her kiss with Lor. FFW--

Back at Confrontation Central, Rol demands that Diego show them proof to back up what he's saying. After Emi takes Diego out of the room, Paula demands the truth!! What is going on between them?! Because she herself has doubts since she has seen them very close together...and suspicious!

Gracia thinks that the kiss means one of two things--it will either close a love story or open another one. IsaCONFUSED is....confused...lather rinse repeat. She admits that she never stopped loving Lor.

Paula's entire rant was of no use! Nat insists that she and Rol are only friends, Paula succumbs adding that she needs to focus on her health because she wants to live...she is going through a difficult time and needs peace. Rok states that he is going to go get some of his things; and Nat also exits because tjis conversation is over!

As Rol and Nat get ready to leave, they stop and conspire. Rol will need Nat as an attorney. He recalls and mentions that Paula told him about her vision problems and hallucinations. THey need to prove that Paula's tumor is affecting her and she is incapable of making decisions! Nat loves the idea..there are many things she can use against Paula...and if they can prove that Paula is incompetent, Rol can take control of Paula's company and money! Rol hisses that if Paula won't value him, then he will take everything from her...even her kids!

When Rol leaves to get his things, Rosa passes by and gets raked over the coals by Nat. Even the violins start playing as Nat reproaches Rosa for betraying her and preferring Paula and her family.

Lor calls Isa who is still at the restaurant and hadn't returned his call because she was talking to Alex..who is back.

Paula goes to talk to Rol (while we wonder why she even bothers). She tells Rol that he changed after they married...he has become someone she doesn't even recognize. Rol counters that it is she who has changed...her tumor is affecting her since she can't even distinguish between reality and fantasy. Paula argues that Pepe is not a fantasy...he is the man she fell in love with and she wants to live so she can have a life with Pepe.

Meanwhile, Pepe goes to talk to Mal who is wearing the lingerie she got from Fredericks of MALiwood. Pepe asks her to cover up; he wants to talk about their daughter and EMi who had problems with alcohol...he asks why MAL hadn't told him about it since they should discuss and make decisions about their children together. They start arguing about whether Emi should be with Emi, but don't agree so Pepe leaves. And out comes Rigoberto from the restroom!

Back at the Lugo's, Rol starts his little tirade of why him and not me. Paula tires to explain about falling in love. Rol brings up German and Paula thinks German would want her to be happy. Paula thinks that the kids getting along is a sign that she is following the right path. After Rol threatens that Paula will regret rejecting him, he grabs Paula trying to kiss her so he can show her that he is a better man than Pepe.. They struggle as Rol tries to force himself on Paula until Paula SLAPS him! Rol grits his teeth and raises his fist ready to hit Paula! Paula raises her own hand to stop him and tells him that if he thinks she is weak, he is very wrong, Rol knows that she is not weak, but he worries that her tumor is affecting her judgement. Paula tells him to get out! She never wants to see him again!

 

VIDA Ep. 49 Part 3

Chinita likes Marcos's new luke, Gracia threatens to throw cold water on her.

Isabela is surprised to see Lor who doesn't want to waste any time--he kisses her and she reciprocates. Isa worries that someone might see them but Lor doesn't care if people see them and know that they love each other. (Kor is bittoo persistent!)

Paula is taking her meds when Pepe calls...and asks her to open the door. Diego is surprised that she is going out and follows her. When she opens the door, Lucia shouts out asking her dad what he is doing there.

Rafa calls Isa asking where she is. Isa stutters as she reproaches that she is the mother and doesn't need to explain. Rafa wonders why she is so nervous. Isa explains that she is at the restaurant, so Rafa offers to go help, but Isa tells him she is getting ready to go home. Lor keeps insisting he doesn't want to leave and knows that isa doesn't want to leave either. They are interrupted by Rafa who now knows why Isa sounded so nervous.When Rafa tells them that he is not stupid (I disagree, but whatever...) and knows something is going on between them. Isa asks Lor to leave and tells Rafa to calm down. After Rafa leaves, Lor insists that they tell Rafa that he is his father, but Isa refuses because Alex needs to be present when they tell Rafa the truth.

Pepe asks why the kids are there since it is so late. Lucia explains that she wanted to see Emi and she brought Teo to play with Susy. As they all talk and laugh, the dark cloud enters and mocks the happy family. After Paula leads Rol out, Rol berates her for having Pepe and his kids there when it's only been two days since he moved out! More arguing and insults ensue...same ol' same ol'...Pepe comes out and tells Rol to leave. Rol punches him right where he stabbed Pepe, so Pepe deduces that it was Rol who stabbed him, The antler bashing starts with Paula trying to separate them. More insults and threats until Rol finally leaves.

Isa enters her house where Rafa is waiting for her. He tells her that his father doesn't deserve what she is doing to him...she is cheating on him! Isa argues that Alex is aware of everything...and is even partly responsible for what is happening since he left for Spain even after she pleaded with him not to leave, When she adds that, after 40 years, she has finally allowed her buried feelings out, Rafa states that if it weren't for the DNA test, he would still think that Lor is his father, but this is worse because then Isa must have been pregnant with him when she had her affair with Lor...what kind of woman does that!?

After Paula and Pepe make sure that each one is okay, they marvel at the thought of their kids together...just like Paula dreamed. Pepe wants them all to be together too, as a family, After they say their "I love yous", Pepe needs to talk about Emi's problem with alcohol, but Paula is puzzled and wonders what problem Pepe is talking about.

Rgv Chick, you captured the drama and intensity of tonight’s episode masterfully. Your lens was sharp, focused and you relayed all of the events with crystal clear vision and insight.

“Fredericks of MALiwood” was perfect.

Paula is so desperate for happily ever after she looks to the future while failing to deal with the present and all of its looming problems. Paula purports to love Pepe and yet inexplicably still has not shared her deepest, darkest secret with him. She loves her children fiercely but has no idea that Emi struggles with an addiction. She wanted to protect her children by marrying Rol yet she did so without any real affection for him. Now he is showing her his true self, a dangerous and hideous monster. Rol and Gnat clearly betrayed her, yet she is swayed by Gnat’s denial as she “lies through her fangs” both of the affair and her explanation about Rosa. Paula is not blind but she doesn’t have the conviction to stand by what she believes.

“Rafa tells them that he is not stupid (I disagree, but whatever...)” was exactly right. This man child knows who Mal is but refused to reject her opting for more hurt and heartache. He has no right to condemn IsaSCARED as her situation is quite different from Rafa’s. She needs to be firmer and tell him to back off, she is the parent and should not cower in the face of Rafa’s disapproval.

Tonight’s highlight for me was Diego seeing Rol and commenting "when a scorpion is near, its mate appears."

Rol continues to go off the deep end by punching Pepe in the same place he stabbed him; at least “Pepe deduced that it was Rol who stabbed him”. I was sure Rol was going to tell Pepe Paula was terminally ill. She was given another reprieve but she is running out of chances.

I still have the rest of this to watch....ironically beginning with your Part 3, which will get watched today. I left off when Rolando raised his fist to Paula. Oh, wow. That would be the final straw for me and I'd be running out the door to file for that annulment. STAT!

It was a bit shocking to me that MAL opened the door with her underwear showing, not even knowing who was knocking. Oh, wait, it's MAL being Mal. Seeing Rigoberto come out of hiding was the real shockeroo. Apparently that is her version of therapy for her sex addiction. (snort)

Yes, Rigoberto took a number and won the MAL " It's-your-turn" lottery. This girl is hot to trot . Well, at least , we found out that she has something besides yoga clothes .

Gee, Rol punches Pepe where he stabbed him, and Pepe's lightbulb clicks on, but he still has not noticed that Paula is sick.

Rol was scary last night, Paula needs that annulment ASAP. She also needs to tell Pepe the truth. It’s getting to the point where he’s going to be mad that she never told him.

I had to laugh when Rigoberto came out of the other room. Well, he did warn Rafa about her. I hope Rafa catches her before they marry. He needs to stay out of his mother’s life and think about what he’s doing. He’ll lose his daughter if he goes through with the wedding. I can’t see her ever living with MAL. And I do wonder if she even knew who the father of the baby was. I think she went with Rafa because everyone found out they were sleeping together.

I have to wonder why Rafa all of a sudden says his father is the only one who has always been with him. I got the impression he felt his parents always were on Pepe's side.
If Paula keeps playing this happy family game without telling Pepe the truth, he will be furious she didn't tell him what is going on and her fairytale might be in danger of shattering.
It's interesting Rafa thinks Lorenzo is trying to destroy his parents' marriage and wants to prevent it because in his eyes it's similar to what he he has done. But he isn't listening to Isabela at all. He seems to side with Alex and I somehow didn't think he'd side with either one because he feels he is the black sheep of the family.

Thank you, all! Very busy day here and I just now read the comments. I agree with everyone, Paula needs to get the annulment ASAP and she needs to get a new attorney to do that. And I also agree that it is time she tell Pepe about her illness. If he would just stop to think about all the signs, he’d known something is gravely (medically) wrong with Paula.

Weirdo, there has been no announcement of “últimas semanas “ much less “últimos capítulos “ so there is no way this will end by April 4th. Now whether Univision changes it to a different time slot would not be completely surprising. And Univision has even been known to switchh a Univision TN over to its sister station, Unimas. I’m not saying this will happen because I haven’t heard anything to indicate a change…but as Doris said…you just never know what Univision will do.
 

VIDA #50 A SECRET IS REVEALED and THE LATEST at SKULDUGGERY, INC. Part 1/2

Here is tonight’s mini- recap, plz forgive typos. Many scenes combined.

Pepe asks Paula about Emiliano’s drinking problem. Paula knows nothing ab out it. She imagined he drank on occasion, but … a problem? No. How did Lucia know? Pep says Lucia knows he had a period of heavy drinking a few years ago. Paula says he’s not addicted because a parent’s initial reaction is always denial unless they’ve seen it themselves. She says she’ll talk to Emi about it.

RAFA is upset with Isa about Lorenzo. She tells him that she and Alex were separated when they had their affair 40 years ago, and they made up when he came back from Spain. Rafa accuses Isabela of being two-faced, not accepting Mal’s affair with him when she had an affair of her own and is still in one. Isa says it’s different. (And we all wish Rafa knew about Mal knocking boots with Rigoberto over at the hotel just ….yesterday? today?)

Susy is sad that Rol moved out. (well, she doesn’t know that he almost punched Paula). Paulepe cook dinner for their combined kids + Andi. A fun time is had by all. Afterward, Teo asks Pepe if he is in love with Susy’s mama and wants to know if she will be Pepe’s new novia. Teo comments that his own mother never cared enough to learn sign langage, but Paula did and she’s really good with him. He also noticed that she’s the only one who makes Pepe happy. (awwww….)

Paula has a talk with Emi about his drinking problem. Emi denies there is a problem and gets upset. HE says he is fine, that there WAS a time when he was not okay – after his dad died. Paula realizes she had no clue because she buried herself in her career and working all the time. She begs him to tell hr if anything is bothering him. She won’t blame him for his past and asks him to forgive her for not realizing what was happening. Emi tells Paula that if she dies, he won’t be able to handle it; he can’t go on without her; YOU CAN’T DIE, PLEASE DON’T DIE.

Later, Paula talks to Diego. She wants to know how she can help him with whatever he needs. Diego says she wants to listen, but she didn’t listen to him and his feelings when he asked her to NOT marry Rolando. He’s tired of it all, she is trying to be the perfect mom but she made a decision with considering his feelings. Paula admits she made mistakes and she is now trying to make things right.

At the restaurant, Gracia can tell Isa is going to see Lor, just by the look on her face. Rafa overhears the part where Isa is going to see Lor. Being a man of action, he pulls a wire on Isa’s truck. It won’t start when she goes to see Lorenzo, so she borrows Andi’s bicycle. (this woman is determined!)
 

VIDA #50 A SECRET IS REVEALED and THE LATEST at SKULDUGGERY, INC. Part 2/2

Teo & Susy have a play date, and they do the Parent Trap thing, setting up Paula and Pepe to meet at a big kiosk. They figure out they were set up. Pepe asks her to be his novia and Paula says yes. Paula gets philosophical with Pepe about life and love. He tells her ‘te amo.’ FFWD>>>

EMILIANO tells Lucia that his mom talked to him about his drinking problem after learning about it from Pepe. He says he’s not an alcoholic and it was a long time ago. Lather, rinse, repeat. FFWD>>>>>
Then they go over to Mal’s business and Emi asks for a job to show her he’s responsible. Mal agrees and we see the wheels turning in her head. She mutters that she loves that his mother will probably have a stroke when she finds out he works for her. They shake hands on the deal.

RAFA intercepts Lorenzo who is waiting for Isabela to arrive. Rafa tells Lor that if he thinks he’ll see Isa, he’ll break his face. AND HE DOES! He starts punching Lorenzo, acting all Hulk and such. Lorenzo says he has waited 40 years for Isabela. Rafa doesn’t care how long he waited; if he gets near his mom, he will tear him apart. Lor says he didn’t come back to destroy rAfa’s family. Back then, Isa and Alex were separated and he is going to fight for his love. Rafa says let’s resolve this like men (fighting..ugh) Rafa tells Lorenzo to leave town and don’t come back and continues to hit Lorenzo. Lorenzo refuses to strike back.

Isabela runs up and stops Rafa, telling him that LORENZO IS YOUR FATHER! Rafa says it’s not true, the DNA test…. and Lorenzo says the test had a mistake. Isa says it is true. Rafa is deflated.

BORIS AND NATASHA (a/k/a Rolando and Natalia) Rol is raging mad because Pepe is winning the battle. Natalia tells him to calm down and sit. She has a plan. She tells him that when Lorenzo had her do the paperwork returning the lands to Pepe’s parents, she put her name on the deed instead. IT ALL BELONGS TO HER,,,,,MUA HA HA HA HA! (how will she explain this to Los Lugo???)Nat tells Rolando that when she is ready, she’ll put Pepe’s family out onto the street and it is all legal.

Natalia has more good news. Paula’s tumor etc are enough to have her declared incompetent. Rolando is really excited at this news! Nat says he can get control of her kids, money, and assets and it can be done in a couple of weeks.

BACK AT THE RESTAURANT --- Isa returns there She tells Alex that Rafa now knows The Truth. Alex is mad that she told Rafa without him there. He leaves and Gracia tries to comfort her.

ALEX tells Rafa he knows everything and he always knew the truth. He confirms that Rafa’s bio-dad is Lorenzo.

In other news, Susy and Teo approve of Paulepe. The other kids walk in and Susy tells them that Pepe and Paula are novios. Paula tells Diego she is following his advice—she is going to fight for her love and annul her marriage to Rolando.

Doris, fantastic title. This was superbly written and as always, your humor shone throughout.

Tonight's Brady Bunch theme with its big, blended, happy family was a welcome diversion. I liked the "Parent trap thing", sugar and spice and everything nice.

All too soon we were back to "reality", being subjected to Rafa "acting all Hulk and such", a perfect descriptive. There was something sad and pathetic watching this emotionally stunted child with an outsize physical presence, chastise and condemn his mother and Lor for their "betrayal" when he is responsible for fracturing the lives of his daughter and his brother.

I'm wondering in what world a tumor would render Paula incompetent when she is alert, coherent and in control of her faculties (marriage to Rol aside of course). I would think Lor could easily contest Gnat's name being on the deed but for the sake of the story, will assume it's fairly iron clad. Rats.

I suspect with tonight's events moving a giant step forward in Paula's favor, she will now be subject to three steps back. Or more. Still, there was some light and love tonight and for that, I am grateful.

Thanks so much Doris, I enjoyed reading your recap. Last night was basically a pleasant episode concentrating on the romance and the kids. Even Diego looked happy with the blended family.

Nat is pretty evil. Does Lorenzo ever read anything she does for him. I don’t see how she’ll get away with it and am anxious to see her downfall. And Rol gleeful at taking everything away from Paula was sickening.

Not sure why Emi wants to impress MAL. Lucia doesn’t think much of her mother. I wonder if MAL will try to seduce Emi. MAL is right that Paula will not be happy about the working arrangements.

Rafa just looked and acted like a little brat. Pulling a wire of his mother’s car and punching Lorenzo. I wanted to tell him to grow up. I didn’t like him telling Isabela she was as bad as MAL. Alex was gone, not sure if he had left the marriage or just gone to Spain on a whim. And they don’t seem to be together now either. But he slept with his brother’s wife for two years, and mostly when Pepe and MAL were married.

How dense is Pepe for failing to see that Paula is ill? We may be past the hump but how much longer can this go on? The stress alone could kill anyone.

Diego nailed the insect perfectly although the actor is a Libra off-camera. Rolando trying to gaslight Paula is truly disgusting. In Gnat's master plan it will not look good that Paula didn't know anything about Emiliano's drinking.

Frederick's of Maliwood and "lies through her fangs" are pure gold!

Emiliano needs therapy ayer. He is emotionally immature and needs to grow up fast. MALena will make mince meat of him out of pure hatred.

Gnat wanting everything that belongs to Paula and her family reinforces for me that Rolando means less to her than he thinks he does.

Uh oh , why would Emi think it was a good idea to go to work for his novia's mother. I guess he hadn't gotten the news that she is a sex addict . she is either going to cut his zipline like she dud to his mother , or try to seduce him. #mrsrobinson

I have been around a lot of little kids and none of then hurt my eardrums like Susy . Is that her real voice ?

Rafa is truly The Incredible Hulk. They are portraying him is a hulking , dumb bunny . ...in a beanie. My beanie is not working for me when this guy comes on the screen . Does Rafa ever work? Why isn't he playing the piano in the family restaurant . I think he might be the sex addict. MAL certainly has him under her witchy spell.

Nat and Rol are getting into position for receiving full on matching anvils. Who is going to thwart their nefarious schemes ?????

Finally , I am getting frustrated waiting for Zaida to bust onto the scene .

VIDA Ep. 51 Part 1 (It's late and I didn't proofread, 'scuse the typos. Lots of scenes combined)

The PaulEpe bunch are still together. Paula tells Diego that she is following his advice and fighting for her true love...she's going to get her marriage annulled. She then leads everyone in a group hug telling them that she wants them to be a big happy family. Diego asks about Rol, so Paula tells him that Rol knows that she is in love with Pepe. After Emi shares about working for MAL, Paula suggests that they all go parachuting.

Alex tells Rafa that he loves him and nothing will change, When Alex admits that he knew from the very beginning, Rafa comments that he too lied to him...everyone lied to him! As they talk, Isabela walks in (the wardrobe department is slacking off because she has been wearing the same dress for the past 2 TN days!). Rafa grits his teeth ashe tells Isa that he is ashamed to have her as a mother, He then adds tah he now understands why they always had Pepe in charge of the restaurant...since he is the bastard child!

Andrea is taking selfies when Arturo shows up and helps her take pictures. She has little stars in her eyes and when Arturo notices, the stars fall and she tells him that she just wants help taking pictures of herself because she wants to be a model.

Lor shows up at the restaurant wanting to talk to Rafa. As they talk about Rafa finding out that Lor is his father, Hnat buzzes in and eavesdrops until Gracia notices her and Gnat saunters over to Lor telling him that she is setting up a training at the company and wants Rafa to attend. Lor reproaches her for planning without consulting him. As they talk, Rafa pases by and Lor tries to stop him so they can talk, but Rafa growls, "Don't touch me!"

Arturo asks about Diego and suggests that next time they should invite Diego along since Diego wants to make friends.

After Paula leaves a message for Lor inviting him to join them in parachuting, PaulEpe kisses ensue.

PaulEPe are watching the kids play outside when Paula starts feeling ill. As she goes inside, Rol rolls in. Paula enters the house in pain and asking her tumor not to do this. She struggles up the stairs until Rosa approaches to help her. As she breathes heavily and complains to Rosa about her tumor is stealing away her life, Emi enters and listens in emotional turmoil. Paula continues and cries that the tumor won;t let her go and she has to wait until her life ends.

Outside, Rol taunts Pepe telling him that he won't have to keep Pepe's family secret any more...and threatens that he is going to destroy Pepe and his family.

Emi continues to listen and cry as Paula tells Rosa about all the things she wants to do with her children, but her time is running out. He goes into the game/bar room and gets a bottle of liquor. Fortunately, the squealing chipmunk runs in before he takes a full swig.

Rosa has helped Paula to her bed. Paula tells her she won't be able to go parachuting, so Rosa assures that she will make up something to tell the family. Paula worries that if Pepe sees her like this, she won;t be able to hide the truth. She needs to find the words and the strength to tell Pepe, Rosa convinces her to wait until later to talk to Pepe.

 

VIDA Ep 51 Part 2

As Lor insists that Rafa talk to him, Andrea approaches and witnesses the exchange.

Gracia tells Isa that Rafa and Lor are talking

Rafa and Lor are having their talk. Lor explains that it was difficult for Isabel to tell Rafa the truth. Outside, Marcos is guarding the door when Andrea walks up insisting that she needs to go inside because she thinks that her father is angry with Lor since she asked Lor to ask her father about her mother. Alex then approaches, as does Isabela and Gracia. Bach inside, Lor is explaining to Rafa why he wanted to get close to him...he wanted Rafa to be part of his family, but Rafa does NOT want to be part of his family!

Pepe enters the house as Rosa is going downstairs. He asks for Paula, so Rosa tells him she is feeling ill. Pepe insists on seeing Paula. As he enters, Paula is slowly getting back to bed. She tells him that she is having stomach problems again. Paula wishes she would go with Pepe to see what is going on with his family, but she can't. She tells Pepe to go, she will be fine; and the idiot still buys that she is only having stomach problems despite Paual almost fainting in his arms!

Gnat tells Rol that the Rafa bomb exploded.

Alex wants to go inside because he wants to know what Lor is telling his son, but Isabela insists that Lor and Rafa have a right to talk alone. Inside, Rafa reproaches that Lor, Isabela and ALex dragged him into their drama...and he now feels HATE for Lor. He walks out and reproaches his parents for lying to him all his life! He stomps away with Andrea following and asking what is going on, dohe tells her that Lor is his father.

Diego complains about Paula cancelling out on the parachuting, He thinks she was just trying to impress Pepe and his kids. FFW---

Rafa explains about Lor being his father and asks Andrea to stay out of it. When he adds that he feels he is going crazy, she gives him a big hug.When Rafa comments that Andrea doesn't know how it feels to be lied to for a lifetime, Andrea reminds him that he won't tell her anything about her mother. Rafa needs air to calm down and leaves, but when Pepe arrives, Rafa returns and gives him a hug as he tells Pepe about Lor. He then rebukes Pepe for knowing and lying to him too.

Alex wants to talk to Lor...and does so with his fist! He wishes Lor and Isa happiness before leaving.

MAL is getting it on with Rigo when she hears Rafa call out to her. She quickly goes outside where Rafa tells him about Lor being his father. As she hugs him, Rigo sneaks away.

Emi goes to see Paula who assures that she will be fine. As she looks at him, she hallucinates and sees German whom she tells that she is not ready to go...she needs to live a bit longer for the kids. As Emy cries and asks how he can help her, Paula's episode ends and she apologizes for scaring him...she is fine, she just needs a hug.

And there we end...

Rgv Chick,

You painted every thought, word and emotion beautifully; running the gamut from vivid, joyous hues to shades of dark and stormy gray.

It was hard to watch overly sensitive Rafa wounded to the quick. Feeling betrayed by everyone he loves, he lashed out in childish, unforgiving fashion. Everyone felt his ire, even Alex who in fairness has always loved him unconditionally. He was ice cold, unyielding and unforgiving toward his mother. Lying is always the ultimate betrayal. With everything Rafa himself has done to hurt others, he should know that full well.

"Alex wants to talk to Lor...and does so with his fist!" All those years of knowing the truth built up to this climax which thankfully did not end in a complete beat down.

Paula... It was hard enough to watch her physically crumble but to have Emi hear it as well was heartbreaking. Having Paula think he was German was crushing. Far too much for a loving child to bear.

Pepe...Finally, at long last, he sees Paula writhing in pain. But "the idiot still buys that she is only having stomach problems despite Paula almost fainting in his arms!" My jaw literally dropped. She was clearly in agony yet Pepe tucks her in and leaves. Speechless.

It was so refreshing to see Diego finally smile, embraced by his expanding family. But Diego just cannot resist a chance to "...complain about Paula cancelling out on the parachuting, He thinks she was just trying to impress Pepe and his kids. FFW---" He has hardened his heart and just will not forgive her for throwing herself into her work after German's death.

It is easy to understand Rafa's anger at having been lied to all his life and then being expected to learn and accept so quickly. But fists don't solve anything.

I look forward to watching this later today. The writers woke up and stuff is happening. Woot!

Thanks for the great recap Rgv Chick. My favorite part had to be Rigo sneaking out while MAL is comforting Rafa. Rafa has always been the odd man out in his family, but I think it’s his own doing. I hate to see him so cruel to Isabela. He and MAL did much worse. And Alex has basically thrown Isabela and Lorenzo together. When the going gets tough he throws in the towel. He should fight for her by showering her with love and romance.

Diego seemed so happy and then got so angry at Paula. Maybe he needs to be told the truth. I don’t think she plans to tell Pepe and that’s not right. Plus she hadn’t finished her treatments, not sure how she’ll hide that from him.

Rosa is so warm and caring. How’d she raise such an evil woman.

Chickie, Thank you for another excellent report . I have to turn the channel when Paula is in pain. Too cruel. Too real.

I enjoyed " Gnat buzzes in..." Followed byb" Rol rolls in ". That cheered me up.

Rigoberto sneaking out behind Rafa's back. Gee. Rig looked very Cheerful as MAL embraced hurting Hulk.

I am trying to remember how long ago German died. In " Receta " , we are constantly reminded that Esteban's wife died six years ago, so we know how long he has been a widower. Both Paula and Esteban are grieving , but Paula's life is complicated by illness. Both shows,are about going on after losing your mate while trying to raise children. Both have further complications due to bad people in their lives

The Incredible Bulk strikes again with this tantrum. I think the DNA test should be redone with samples taken directly from Lorenzo, Alex, and Rafael in person.

Rolando is now a cartoon of himself. We still don't know his net worth.

Paula is still trying to keep her condition from Diego which will continue to hurt their relationship.

It can't be that easy to have a wife declared incompetent to make decisions. What if the roles were reversed?

Lorenzo needs to be on the ball about this. The fact that Pepe and Diego don't know that Paula is ill would not look good for her.

Rafael needs to demand another DNA test on Malena's pregnancy to find out that she is no longer pregnant. Everything we're seeing now screams that someone else may have knocked her up.

Good point, UrbanA. Mal's baby might have actually been Rigoberto's. Too bad Rafa hasn't thought of that.

I’m not sure how long since German died, but for some reason I keep thinking 8 years.

Rafa asking for a DNA test would be ideal, but the hulk is so taken with MAL that I doubt it will occur to him.
