Here's the sorpresa I told you guys last year:
Since Telemundo decided a few years ago to stop the TuMundo Awards, I thought that it would be a good idea to make the Caray Caray Awards, both for Telemundo and Univisión.
I figured I'd be great to have our own awards in our lovely community!
I have gathered info on all telenovelas that are eligible for this year (scroll down for the eligibility criteria), but because I haven't watched all of them, I need your help!
How can you help? Here are the different categories:
La Mejor Telenovela (The Best Telenovela)
La Mejor Protagonista (The Best Female Protagonist)
El Mejor Protagonista (The Best Male Protagonst)
La Mejor Villana (The Best Female Villain)
El Mejor Villano (The Best Male Villain)

Right below this, I have written the characters of each telenovela that can be voted when I start the voting period. If you have watched any of these and you think I'm mistaken in some category, please write a comment saying it and I will change the post.
For example, if I'm mistaken about Rutila Casillas (Carmen Aub) being eligible as the female protagonist in El Señor de los Cielos 8, write it in the comments and I'll remove her.
Please only do that if I'm truly mistaken. You have a chance to eliminate a character you don't think should win the awards in Round 1.
ALSO, I have some gaps in a few categories. If you know which character/song should be in some category, please write a comment and tell me. That would help me a lot. I have currently written the gaps like this: "-".
ALSO #2, I want to ask you whether or not we should choose 1 person for the category "La Mejor Protagonista" and for "El Mejor Protagonista" for Vencer la Culpa and El Amor Invencible respectively or allow them all to be voted. I am of the opinion that we should vote and keep only one before the actual voting starts (in a week), but we should decide as a group. For now, I've written them all.

Eligibility criteria
The shows that are eligible for the Caray Caray 2023 Telenovela Awards are:
• The ones who started on or after April 4, 2023 and finished before or on April 4, 2024.
• The ones who started prior to April 4, 2023, but were ongoing on that date and finished before or on April 4, 2024.
(April 4, 2006 is Caray's birthday, since the first post ever on this blog was published on that date.)
Rounds
There will be 2 rounds of the Awards. Each round will last one week.
More specifically:
• Round 1: Characters of all Telenovelas/All Telenovelas fitting the categories will be in Round 1.
• Round 2: Only the characters/telenovelas who passed Round 1 will proceed to Round 2.
Voting System
The voting system will be different for rounds 1 and 2.
In Round 1, everyone who wants to vote will vote for one character/telenovela that they want to eliminate in each category.
In Round 2, everyone who wants to vote will vote for one character/telenovela that they want to win in each category.
Please vote only once. In order to make sure each participant votes only once, you'll have to be logged in (Google account).
Also, please do not write in the comments who you're going to vote for and/or persuade others to vote or not for something. (I'm sure no one here would do that, but I had to write it.)
How to vote
It's very simple! Just go to the Google Forms document I have created!
You DON'T have to have watched ALL of the telenovelas included to vote.
Lurkers can vote as well, you don't have to be a recapper/commenter.
THE LINKS WILL BE POSTED AFTER A WEEK, THIS WEEK WILL BE JUST FOR THE CLEAR-UPS.
Results
Round 1 results will be posted on Caray in exactly 2 weeks from now (will start in exactly in a week: Thursday, April 11, 2024, results: Thursday, April 18, 2024).
Round 2 results will also be posted on Caray, in exactly one week from the Round 1 results (3 weeks from now: Thursday, April 25, 2024).

Sadly, I can't have an opinion -- and I do love to have opinions -- because I didn't watch ANYTHING last year. But I will be interested to see how it develops.
I wouldn’t say Diana Bracho (Martina) was a villain in Enternamente. She was very much a strick parent and maybe on the harsh side most of the time, but she wasn’t evil and didn’t do anything really villainous. IIRC. I think the female villain here would have to have been Ana Bertha Espín (Irma Ruvalcaba)
Similarly Fernando wasn’t a villain either. He was whinny and unpleasant most of the time but not evil. You would probably have to say Ignacio Cordero/Iturbide (Juan Martin Jauregui) was the villain but he was redeemed in the end. I still think he best fits the category.
Darcy and Jarifa, thanks VERY much for the Eternamente info. I'll change them in the Docs right now.
As for Daytime Darcy, I meant I wanted to have a separate category with the new ones that air, but IIRC this year was only Corazón Guerrero, max another one. I am debating whether I should put ones like Vivir in Uni, so thanks for sharing your point of view.
Weirdo, I figured you might mean only the new daytime novelas but it’s very rare that daytime gets new shows. I doubt you would get enough entries to fill its own category. Yeah Corazón Guerrero is the only one I can think of that started and finished in daytime, but I thought it was over before April of last year.

Darcy, I agree that Daytime rarely gets new shows. Hm, I don't exactly remember the dates for Corazón Guerrero, but you're probably right because I originally wanted to create the awards last year, but thought I should wait until Caray turns 18 ;)
I can't believe the amount of work you must have dedicated to put this together.!!
Unfortunately, I haven't watched any telenovelas this past year and a half. Too busy being hospitalized with COVID (thought I was going to die!), gallbladder surgery, and hiatal hernia surgery. Rough year!!
I am so thankful for sites where I can stream the telenovelas that I'm interested in at my own time.

Thank you! I have to admit it took me about a year to finish it - everytime a new novela popped up, I had to research the characters. But I'm just happy it's how I wanted it to. Work for Caray isn't work :)
So sorry to hear about your health problems. I hope you'll be in perfect health from now on.
