Let's see if the Good Guys can start a winning streak in the closing stretch to taking down Crazy Becca & her group of cronies.
When Rebeca pulls out her “little friend,” Angel tells Rebeca to leave. Angel sputters that knew that Rebeca was capable of anything, but this? When she asks why Rebeca won’t leave her in peace, Rebeca tells her that she can leave walking out or in a plastic bag! Angel tries to protest but Rebeca roughly grabs her and pulls her outside. Angel tries to run and Rebeca fires a warning shot into the air. Outside, Rebeca threatens that if Angel tries to run, the next bullet will be for her. Brayan pulls up in a nondescript gray van. Rebeca opens the side door, pushes Angel in and they take off.
Rufino reports to Monica who tells him not to lose sight of them.
The van drives by the restaurant, Rufino on his motorcycle in hot pursuit.
JE tells Cris that they have important news to tell the family. He then urges her not to let love pass her by again. After he adds that he would love to see her happy with his father, Cris tells him she gave up on love a long time ago. Why JE persists? She then sings the same old sad song she can’t forget that Adolfo was her sister’s husband so that makes it an impossible love. Get a grip Cris. Please.
Gi tells a shocked Armando that Alma died. He (and we) wonder why no one told him. Gi thinks Doris must be so sad. Armando tells her that Doris’s sadness also has another name…Sebas.
JE tells Sebas how happy he is that he is back. However, not all is right with the world. Sebas confides to his hermano that he and Doris broke up. A surprised JE tells him he has never seen him so happy ever since Dulce died and urges to at Sebas give Doris a second chance. When Sebas tells him about Doris using him to help Rebeca, JE tells him that he already knew…and again urges a surprised Sebas to give Doris another opportunity; he has no doubt that Doris was manipulated by Rebeca. Sebas quietly digests this information.
In the first of many unaired scenes, Doris is feeling sad to see Alma’s booth closed. Wanda and she talk about how good Alma was and how she helped them. The conversation turns to Armando, then Sebas breaking up with Doris.
Diana
(Unaired which is puzzling as this sets the stage for what is to follow) Gi wonders why Sebas broke up with Doris. Armando thinks it was because Doris is poor. Well-intentioned but misguided Gi doesn’t think so…she thinks it was because Doris is not refined. She adds that they can teach Doris impeccable manners…and soon everyone will envy her.
Luciano explains to the kids that bringing them there is illegal. He adds that Romina is capable of anything to get her way. He urges them not to wander too far. too far from the hacienda and holds their hands tightly.
(Unaired) Romina talks to her attorney and gives him an update about the children… she needs them to be with her.
(Unaired) Fatima assures Mati and Javi there is nothing to worry about. (My Crazy 8 ball says “doubtful”). 😊
Misael tells JE they should form an alliance against Rebeca. JE strides out letting him know he is not amenable.
Angel tries to reason with unreasonable Rebeca; she is clearly on Brayan’s nerves who orders Rebeca to shut her up.
(Unaired) Lucas thinks he needs to do something because Brayan may continue to bother Mati at the hacienda. Sweet but too trusting Sandra assures him that there is plenty of security at the hacienda.
Gabriel darkens the doorstep to say hello. Mati tells him that he was wrong about Sandra and Lucas…now she and Lucas are very happy. Consistent and persistent Gabriel asks if they can be friends, and much to our annoyance, Mati agrees. (Why couldn’t they have cut this??)
JE arrives at the restaurant, calling out for “mi vida” but she is nowhere to be found.
Diana
Misael is upset because JE still has control over the company even if he isn’t there…and his grandfather won’t sign the contract! Bruno, (who does have some functioning cognitive cells), thinks JE will want to go to the (ghost) company and check things out. Just then, Misael gets a text from JE asking for the contract.
JE calls a now tied and gagged Angel. Seeing it is JE calling, Rebeca tells Brayan to throw out the phone as he had warned her the phone could be traced. She hands it over to Brayan and then cruelly puts a black hood over Angel’s head. JE leaves a message asking where Angel is…he will go look for her. We next see the phone being tossed out of the van.
Lucas indulges in mad acrobatics, and upon coming back to earth, asks Axel and Memo what Brayan has planned to hurt Mati. They then laugh in his face, refusing to tell him anything.
Luciano, Fatima and the children are playing outdoors when the police arrive to arrest Luciano for violating the custody order.
As Doris (in a pretty pink lace-up shirt) prays and gives thanks for finding her father, Armando calls to invite her to dinner. “Hola papi” she says happily accepting, to Armando’s delight.
Luciano tells the policeman that he has a judicial order that protects him but the policeman tells him again why he is being arrested. Fatima calls Adolfo who urges Luciano to cooperate.
JE continues to walk around the restaurant; he asks Renato if he has seen Angel but he hasn’t.
Rufino, whose view is blocked by the van, wonders what Rebeca is doing with that guy.
Diana
The van has reached its destination. Angel is roughly pushed into an apartment and ordered to sit. She tries to talk but Rebeca snarls at Angel to shut up; no one will hear her. After her hood and gag are removed, Angel asks why she brought her there. Rebeca pretends to shoot her with the gun. With that, Angel starts screaming for help. Next Brayan applies a cloth (likely chloroform) and Angel passes out.
JE calls Angel again, asking where she is and that he loves her. He thinks of Jimena and calls her.
Luciano is taken into custody as the children plead to no avail; he bravely assures them all will be well. The police insist that they need to take Mati and Javi as well. Fatima tells them to be calm as sweet Javi calls out “Fati”. She gets in her car.
Fatima calls Romina to reproach her for what she did, Romina retorts that Fatima and Luciano bear sole responsibility for causing this!
Eliza Dolittle arrives for her etiquette lessons courtesy of Professor Higgins aka Armando. She looks ravishing in her red dress with embellished straps. She likes being called “hija.”
Sebas reflects back on JE’s advice to give Doris a chance. “Bueno” he says and gets up from his chair.
Seated at an elegantly set table replete with candelabra, Doris smiles sweetly and expectantly. In order to expand her palate to include delicacies of the rich and famous, caviar is served. Gi explains they are trying to prepare her for the next time Sebas invites her out. (A sweet and thoughtful gesture but they really needn’t have bothered. Sebas is very down to earth, enjoying the same food Doris does).
An alarmed Jimena, cleaning her new pizzeria space, tells a frantic JE she hasn’t heard from Angel…but will call the fabrica.
Diana
Elena assures Santi that she is well. As they talk, JE calls Santi to ask if he knows where Angel is. Santi, trying to be nonchalant so Elena isn’t suspicious, replies no. Elena asks if everything is all right and he lies that it is. JE smells a rat named Rebeca.
Rebeca pretends to shoot Brayan telling him that for now, they just need to make sure Angel can’t escape or yell for help. Brayan can help her with her alibi…but first she will leave her sister a friend to keep her company! And with that, we see a tarantula so huge, Shelob is suffering in envy.
As they leave the building Rebeca tells Brayan to hurry. As they scurry out, Rufino who is snooping, barely has time to hide.
Rebeca is back at work removing her “disguise” as Romina wonders when her boss will arrive. JE enters demanding to know where Rebeca is. With that, Rebeca enters reproaching him for yelling. He angrily asks her where Angel is as Rebeca claims she has no idea. Ratty Romina backs her up. Then, Cris enters and asks what’s going on.
Elena has a pit in the bottom of her stomach as Santi asks her to calm down. JE calls and tells Santi he is desperate; Angel isn’t answering her cell and he is certain something happened. Elena grabs the phone so he tells her Angel is nowhere to be found.
Cris tells Adolfo that JE has gone to ask Corral for help. Monica (tight flame red sweater dress and cropped brown jacket) enters with her usual insults and put downs. Cris tells her not to waste her time offending her. When Monica points out that Adolfo is still her husband, Adolfo tells her to stop and informs her that Angel is missing, but Monica could care less. As Cris leaves in disgust Adolfo berates Monica.
Diana
Monica tells Misael that now isn’t the time to pressure Don Emilio into signing the contract since JE is preoccupied with Angel who is missing. Misael stares with a faint lift of his eyebrows.
Behind jail’s cold bars, Luciano prays that his children be protected.
At the jail, Adolfo and Fatima are told that the kids are with their mother.
Mati and Javi confront Romina, asking why she did this to their father. After Romina tells them that their father committed a crime, they tell her they don’t want to live with her. Fatima appears and the children rush into her arms as Romina stares.
Misael tells Don Emilio that JE isn’t answering his calls…and if he doesn’t sign the contract they will lose out on the good deal being offered. Cris enters and tells Don Emilio JE is busy (but doesn’t explain why). As viewerville looks on with great alarm, Don Emilio signs the contract! Misael smiles fiendishly.
Rufino tells Monica everything he has observed but he isn’t positive the person Rebeca took was Angel. Monica thinks that if the person is Angel, she now has Rebeca in her hands.
As dark storm clouds gather, we see Angel tied to a chair, still gagged. The tarantula inches closer and closer…
The tension and drama was perfectly reflected in mi amiga’s conversation translations. I am humbled by her incredible work and sharing generosity. Thank you.
Diana
Dear Diana and friend to us all, thank you for every drop of doom and gloom as Reb doesn't back down one inch and confidently uses her last allies ..Brayan and Romeana to kidnap Angel. Mark your bingo cards. Kidnapping ...check. ✓
I guess we got that clever disguise so that we could see Reb in that black bra ....twice ....and a how-to video on hairbraiding . Sunglasses, braid , oversized tunic...NotReb leaves and returns . # mission impossible stuff
Will Rufino rescue Angel? That would be great. Come on . Let's do something different.
Doris did a pretty quick turn around with Dad and Stepmom. Okay. Easy is always nice . Susan
Thank you for your lovely words SpanProf.
"Anesthetizing Angelli and then putting a tarantula in the room with her. How weird is that? Rebeca most definitely is nuts!" You nailed that perfectly! She certainly is; her downfall cannot come quick enough for me.
Doris really has lucked out; a father reaching out with his love and "a very nice stepmother" as you pointed out. I hope Sebas and Doris fast track their reunion but whenever does the course of true love go smoothly? Certainly not here. ")
I would like to see how extensive Primi's injuries are. I hope they don't keep us waiting until next week for an update.
Like you, I'm hoping they track Angel's phone. Lucas could certainly help or even (heaven forbid) Brayan's henchies who seem to have more IT knowledge than most.
Diana
Hi Susan and thank you.
Reb's "disguises" were absurd, weren't they? Even though she managed to reappear just right before JE arrived, I was so happy he questioned her nevertheless. He knows how slippery she is and he obviously didn't discount the possibility of her culpability.
I fear Ruffino is not going to be a rescuer. Call me cynical but...:)
I was really happy that Armando, Gi and Doris are already forming a family. And a happy one thus far it seems.
Diana
Thank you, Diana! Your recap is snappy as always. You set the tone for every episode and this one is chilling!
So, Rebeca is graduating from poison to tarantulas? Whenever I see a plot like this, I wonder; left alone in an empty room, would the tarantula even make a bee line for the victim IRL? I don't want to find out, but it seems unlikely. I would think the spider could just as likely disappear to the other side of the room, or through a crack in the wall or something. I am seriously curious, are tarantulas attracted to humans?
In other news, while I agree the whole denying herself love thing is getting old on a novela level, I just can't be mad at Cris. It's not the romantic HEA fairytale we all want but I would never in a million years marry the man who had been married to my sister for 20 years!!! I don't care if I did think I was in love with him!! Like Monica said, he is STILL in this moment married to her sister! No, sorry, just no!
Gi and Armando mean well but Doris is fine the way she is! They shouldn't be mad at Sebas because he didn't break up with Doris for the reason they think, but if he had then their reaction should have been to be mad at HIM for treating Doris that way, not concerned with refining Doris to make her 'good enough' for Sebas. So few people are so unapologetically themselves and so comfortable in their own skin the way Doris is, it would be a tragedy if they managed to make her self-conscious and insecure.
Darcy, thank you so much.
"So few people are so unapologetically themselves and so comfortable in their own skin the way Doris is, it would be a tragedy if they managed to make her self-conscious and insecure" was beautifully phrased. I think Doris will remain her sweet down to earth unpretentious self; after all, that is precisely the reason Sebas fell in love with her.
I can't answer your question about tarantulas being attracted to humans but can safely say THIS human is not attracted to them at ALL! And I am someone who doesn't flinch at snakes, rats, mice or anything of that ilk! :)
Diana
Diana, thank you for another great recap. I don't know how you produce such an excellent recap from such a frustrating episode. I was really annoyed with a few things in this one, but such is life in telenovelandia. And it's such a shame that they are cutting scenes.
"(My Crazy 8 ball says “doubtful”). " A Crazy 8 ball could be really helpful with this TN!
I am glad that JE encouraged Sebas to talk to Doris, but I'm still annoyed that Sebas didn't do so in the first place.
I was a bit mystified about Becky firing a warning shot with a gun that has a silencer attached. I certainly didn't hear anything. Let's hope the bullet didn't kill anybody when it fell back to earth.
It was nice to see Doris again, and Wanda, too, though poor Primitivo didn't get much help from Wanda. I didn't understand what she thought had happened to him, but, of course, she didn't know Misael had ordered him beaten up. Maybe she thought he had been drinking and brawling?
I don't know if I'll be able to sleep tonight, worried about poor Angel with that nasty tarantula. And I will be all worried now that don Emilio has signed the loan application.
Yawn! Oh! Maybe I will get some sleep.
Andy
Thanks so much, Diana and friend, for the great recaps. I was surprised that Elena left Rebeca alone in the room with Alma, but I guess she still doesn’t realize how bad Rebeca is. And I really thought Rebeca would hire Brayan to shoot Angel. But she would probably enjoy doing it herself so Angel would have to listen to a bunch of nasty stuff Rebeca will accuse her of.
The camera should prove Rebeca left, but will anyone check them? If they do I’m sure Romina will also be arrested because she gave Rebeca her alibi. So now she has that and the money she stole for Rebeca. Her future does not look good.
I didn’t realize Armando and Gi were trying to make Doris more refined. I’m not too worried about them changing her.
Jimena is definitely the fairest of them all. She also wears the prettiest clothes with really flattering colors.
Liz
Andy, thank you for your always nice words.
"I was a bit mystified about Becky firing a warning shot with a gun that has a silencer attached. I certainly didn't hear anything. Let's hope the bullet didn't kill anybody when it fell back to earth" was great. A malfunctioning silencer?? Excellent point.
"I am glad that JE encouraged Sebas to talk to Doris, but I'm still annoyed that Sebas didn't do so in the first place". Perhaps we should just be happy he didn't sulk interminably like JE did. :) It will be interesting to see what Doris does.
Andy, I was shocked Don Emilio signed the papers. He has always shown such good judgement but Misael timed his pesky persistence perfectly. :(
Diana
Thanks so much Liz. I hope you had a great time with your family.
"Jimena is definitely the fairest of them all. She also wears the prettiest clothes with really flattering colors" was fabulous! Yes, she certainly is and her wardrobe is beautifully vibrant.
"The camera should prove Rebeca left, but will anyone check them?" Good question. As we've been saying a crappy wardrobe change does not a disguise make.
I'm with you in that Doris isn't going to change; she's as real as it gets. No pretense there.
Diana
Gracias, Diana and friend. A most riveting recap.
Nah, Doris doesn't need to change (and won't anyway), but Gi is so sweet trying to help her. Plus Doris loves to eat, so these new treats will fit right in.
I'm guessing JE will turn into a one-man SWAT team to the rescue.
Thanks Niecie.
"Nah, Doris doesn't need to change (and won't anyway), but Gi is so sweet trying to help her. Plus Doris loves to eat, so these new treats will fit right in" was exactly right. Gi has a good heart and they will make a great family!
Diana
Doris’s etiquette lessons are in full swing. Armando reassures his daughter that Sebas will come to realize that Doris was just one of Rebeca’s victims. They then toast with champagne…for recuperating Doris, their daughter and laugh delightedly. Doris is as effervescent as the champagne bubbles she is imbibing. Gi gently shows Doris how to hold the champagne flute which Doris finishes off in one gulp. Gi advises her to sip as they all laugh.
Lucas is taking an online exam but can’t concentrate because he is wondering how Brayan got to Mati. What is your plan he muses.
Alma, encased in glowing white, flowing robes comes to Pedrito in a dream. As he cries, she reassures him he will soon find his mother and envelopes him in a hug. “Mamita” he murmurs in his sleep.
Lucas is lost in thought about Mati and as he comes out of his reverie, suddenly realizes that his exam time is up. He stands in alarm saying “no, no no”.
A distraught Luciano is upset he’s languishing in jail. Adolfo explains that Romina’s attorney is trying to keep Luciano from violating the custody order; he tells Luciano that unfortunately, the children will have to go with Romina.
Romina unleashes a barrage of insults against Fatima for always getting into their business. She is not their mother nor their family and calls her stupid. Mati and Javi defend Fatima, but Romina screams like a banshee that SHE is there mother and tells them to get away from Fatima. Mati and an upset Javi (who hurts my heart) tells Romina that they don’t like being with her because she locks them up like prisoners. They want to be at the hacienda! After Fatima tells them they will have to go with their mother, they plead with Fatima, Javi beside himself, wanting to be with her and their father. Romina screams and physically pulls the children away.
Rebeca puts her little creature in a jar as Angel’s eyes widen. Rebeca laughs at Angel and tells her she better get used to being there; after all she will live her last days there. She loosens Angel’s gag as Angel asks what Rebeca wants. Rebeca spews that she wants Angel’s life! She lost 20 years because of her. Angel points out that her loved ones must be looking for her, but Rebeca assures they won’t find her…or her hijo! Angel stares wide eyed.
Diana
Sebas searches for Doris at her place of business. When he doesn’t find her, he calls her but she is having fun at her dinner and doesn’t answer. Gi explains they want to show her how to handle herself at an elegant dinner; they want her to be a distinguished woman. Doris (still quickly drinking her champagne) asks about Gi’s name so Armando tells her that GI’s name is Gidarda but they call her Gi. In the cutest scene of the episode, Armando whistles for Juanita and then Gi laughs and rings the table bell. They are all beaming with happiness.
Marisa advises everyone Angel is nowhere to be found.
Corral is at the restaurant informing them a missing person report has already been filed. She questions Renato who admits to being the last to see Angel. JE tells her that no one knows anything about Angel’s whereabouts; he is certain something happened to Angel…and he suspects Rebeca! Elena is immersed in grief as everyone urges her to calm down; Renato offering to make her some tea. “Mi vida where are you” JE murmurs. After everyone leaves, JE finds the pregnancy test. Angel’s note reads in part “Surprise mi amor” and reiterates she is pregnant. JE balls his fist up and cries tears of grief.
Rebeca tells Angel that she knows Angel is pregnant because she knows everything…she also knows that Angel is trying to pin Alma’s death on her, but she won’t because she did nothing. She knows Angel just wants her out of the way. Angel sits, wet tears staining her cheeks with a look of devastation. Rebeca continues on with same old same old; Angel took everything from her…she suffered hardships…ad nauseam. As Rebeca’s cringeworthy and hate filled diatribe continues, Rufino is at the window taking pictures.
JE cries that they will have a child. At this point, my transmission was interrupted for a few minutes for a political announcement so I likely missed a few things.
Angel tries to reason with Rebeca talking about living in the neighborhood. She was fortunate to live there because she found something very valuable—the support of neighbors. Angel continues that Alma loved Rebeca and made sure she lacked for nothing. Rebeca retorts that she was kidnapped and was denied the life she deserved. They go back and forth until Angel asks if Rebeca finds happiness in seeing her suffer. Shockingly, Rebeca is also shedding tears but eventually gets fed up and shoves a cloth in Angel’s mouth. Rebeca leaves and walks the streets like a dark and evil specter.
Diana
Upon receiving the video of Rebeca with Angel, Monica clown grins with evil delight, not in the least bit concerned about Angel. She calls Rufino to confirm she has the video and orders him to stop shadowing Rebeca; she now has the evidence she needs. She cackles with malevolence…
Corral reports that they have checked the camera recordings but found nothing. Elena is flanked by a caring Gi as Jimena, Renato and Santi stand close by. Santi tells Corral that there’s one more exit they use to bring out the trash that has no camera. Corral then gets a message with Angel’s last location from her phone. JE recognizes that it is close to where Angel lives…and goes running out to look for her.
Adolfo explains Romina’s lawyer’s tactics to Fatima. Fatima wonders why Romina wants the children as she doesn’t even take care of them. When she praises Luciano for being a good father, Adolfo comments that Mati and Javi are fortunate…not all children have such a good father. Fatima laments what has happened to Matti and Javi.
Lucas tells a sympathetic Sandra that he didn’t finish the test because he was distracted. However, Lucas contacts his professor who agrees to give him another chance. Sandra imparts the good news to Marisa, Lupe, Carmelo and Luis. Santi arrives and asks if anyone has seen Angel. They are very worried and everyone volunteers to look for Angel.
(Unaired) Witchy, beyotchy Romina tells the kids that she changed the locks. Mati and Javi complain about being locked up all day long without internet access. Mati doesn’t know why Romina wants them when all she does is scold them. Romina pitifully mewls they are being unjust…she wishes their father would give her money to help care for them.
Gi is giving Elena some aromatherapy, but Elena won’t relax until her daughter is back. Rebeca struts in as Elena quickly questions her, but (unsurprisingly) Rebeca denies knowing anything. Beca spills a bunch of malicious malarkey about caring and worrying. Gi reams her out, calling her a disgrace, asking her to leave. Elena warns Rebeca that if she has anything to do with her sister’s disappearance, she will not forgive her. Rebeca leaves muttering under her breath. She stops to eavesdrop as Gi praises Elena for having the courage to do what she just did. Elena cries that she just wants her daughter back, safe and sound.
Diana
Meanwhile, Angel thinks of how worried her mother must be…and convinces herself to be strong. For herself, her child and for JE.
Cris calls JE (who is with Sebas) and he tells her they are continuing the search.
There are a few cute “moments” between the searchers. As a car alarm goes off, Sandra jumps and steps back into Santi. As Jimena and Renato walk, Jimena trips and Renato catches her in his arms.
Doris, Marisa and Carmelo roam the streets together. Memo and Axel wonder why there are so many police around but Brayan feigns ignorance. Seeing them, Doris stalks up, hands on her hips asking if they have seen Angel…and urges them to talk if they know something.
Wanda tells Pedrito and Loli that everyone is looking for Angel and urges that they always tell someone where they are going so as not to worry them. When Pedrito talks about his mother, Wanda is very sweet with him and ends up cradling both children in her arms.
Santi walks Sandra home and thanks her for helping. He is so worried about Angel! Sandra gives him a comforting hug and encourages him not to say negative things; she assures him everything will turn out well. Santi doesn’t appear quite convinced.
(Unaired) Javi calls out to Mati because he can’t sleep; he worries about his father staying in jail. Mati comforts him.
Diana
Luciano thinks about getting arrested as Fatima arrives. He is determined his family will be together again. Fatima informs him the children had to go with Romina and asks him to remain calm. They know she doesn’t deserve custody and will do anything to retain custody. She strokes his cheek through the bar.
Angel worries about what Rebeca might do…she promises her baby that she will protect him.
JE tells Sebas he is certain Rebeca is responsible for Angel’s disappearance and refuses to give up the search. Sebas tries to reassure him the police are doing everything they can. When he tells Sebas Angel is pregnant, Sebas stops and stares. JE screams out Angel’s name and she hears him! She yells back but to no avail, she is gagged and therefore her words fall, silent and unheeded.
Exceptional dialogue translations courtesy of mi amiga. She is so instrumental in making sense of all the madness and doing it with great wisdom and flair. Thank you!
Diana
Dear Diana and friend to us all, thank you for another snappy recap as we watch Reb spinning out of control. I think that she had an original plan , but she has poisoned and lied and terrified everyone in her vicinity , and now she seems to have lost her focus and is just randomly doing crazy stuff.
Romeana should be getting her resume polished up because her boss is increasingly unstable .
Will Mati and Javi be in jeopardy again ?
Who is going to rescue Angel? Shame on Rufino . He could have been a human being . Is Angel near her home in the barrio? Susan
Thanks so much SpanProf for your very nice words.
"The barrio is as positive as Angelli portrays it" is an excellent point. It was truly gratifying to see everyone out and searching Angel, even though she is a newbie in the neighborhood.
Usually a heroine kidnapping is done more toward the end of the story isn't it?? Like you, I'm hoping this is resolved fairly quickly. That said, once Angel is found Rebeca would have to be jailed right? Where will Beca scurry to for the rest of ths show? :(
"Brayan...kidnaps Angelli because Rebeca pays him to, but there's no money in it for persecuting Lucas--just the threat of going back to jail... He truly seems to understand cost-benefit" was such a sharp observation.
I hope nothing was cut from the Armando/Gi/Doris scenes, one of my favs thus far. A reunited family that is actually happy? How novel.
Diana
Susan, thank you so much.
"Romeana should be getting her resume polished up because her boss is increasingly unstable" sounds extremely reasonable to me!
Speaking of, UNreasonable Beca does indeed seem to have veered away from her game plan. Does she truly think she is going to get away with this? I'm assuming her plan is to kill Angel because if Angel 'talks' that will be the end of her.
I do think Angel is being held in her neighborhood which is why JE had the foresight to go there. I'm not sure who's house she is in though. Can anyone answer this?
Diana
I haven't watched this episode yet, but from yesterday's I would hazard a guess the place where Ang is being held is one of Brayan's lairs, either his place or either of his 2 henchmen.
Thanks so much, Diana and friend. I think it’s amazing that you turn out amazing recaps day after day. I’m really glad I stuck with this show.
I loved the family scene with Doris. They need to work on her drinking! But then Gi was by Elena’s side and I wondered if she had red slippers on! Thanks SpanProf for reminding me that we lost some with the political announcement.
In the scene with Wanda and the kids Pedrito was scratching his head quite a bit. As a retired elementary teacher all I could think of was lice! There has to be a reason for the head scratching, maybe whatever it is will somehow connect him to Wanda. Just haven’t figured out how. No DNA test needed for lice or the caregiver!
Liz
Liz, thank you very much for your nice words.
Even though we are over the 100 episode mark, I am still enjoying the show (especially Doris' storyline) as well and look forward to what will happen next.
I think I had almost as much fun watching Doris, Armando and Gi as they were. A lot of this stems from how the heck did this happen? Out of the blue but a well written plotline that is such an oasis from Beca and Monica's madness.
I hadn't really noticed Pedrito's scratching; thank you for pointing that out! As a teacher, I'm sure you've seen everything! :)
Kat, thank you for your comment that Angel might be held at Brayan's or his not so bright hired help's place.
Diana
Thank you, Diana, for another top notch recap!! You outdo yourself every single day, and you made what was essentially a frustrating episode fun to read about!
I watched on Vix so no political interruption and I still didn't see any transition for Gi, she was at dinner one minute and with Elena the next. The only thing I did see that might have taken up a second or to is that after Gi rang the bell Doris asked for it and when Gi gave it to her she rang louder and combined Gi's bell ringing with Armando's yelling out, then everyone laughed.
But most of the political announcement must have absorbed commercials because I didn't see anything else that wasn't in the recap.
I didn't notice Pedrito's scratching either, but I can tell you as someone who has dealt with dry scalp and that other scalp issue that starts with pysor (that I can't spell) that lice isn't the only thing that will keep you constantly itching.
I know it's just craziness and not a rationale accusation, but I would really like to hear Rebeca explain exactly how she figures Angel is reasonable for her abduction and 'taking everything' from her!!! I was thinking watching this showdown that it would have been interesting to see a show where Rebeca was less evil and redeemable, but of course it's too late for that now! But she was hateful already at four so she probably had no chance of turning out any other way.
Darcy, thank you for you always kind and supportive words.
Oh noes! We missed "...after Gi rang the bell Doris asked for it and when Gi gave it to her she rang louder and combined Gi's bell ringing with Armando's yelling out, then everyone laughed". I loved the previous scene so would have enjoyed this immensely. Thank you for letting us know.
To be honest, I was very surprised by Rebeca's tears when she and Angel were going back and forth. So much self pity and pure hatred. Had Rebeca's role been written differently would have been very interesting as you wisely suggest. But you shone the truth that "she was hateful at four so she probably had no chance of turning out any other way". Very sad, but I agree, she never had a chance.
Diana
Thanks again Diana and Omni, they just get better and better! Special thanks for the unaired scenes.
Uni is crazy. I had the politics interruption, but I also saw Doris’s enthusiastic bell ringing. Yes, a fun scene.
Wracking my brain where Angel could be held that Reb would have access to. Reb has said a couple of times “they’ll never find you here.”
Who’s staying at Alma’s? Does Marisa live there? But Lupe and others would be coming in and out, makes no sense.
IIRC, that room looked like a neatly kept bedroom, not a teenager’s room, and wouldn’t Brayan and henchies live with family?
Thought I saw a look of compassion on Brayan’s face, guess I was wrong!
Hate kidnapping storylines and hope this is resolved soon, preferably Monday.
Clara
Clara, thank you for your always lovely words.
Wasn't the bell ringing the best?? I can't wait for more scenes with Doris and her newly found family.
"Reb has said a couple of times “they’ll never find you here.” Thank you Clara, I hadn't caught that ominous warning. Because JE found her, I'm thinking Angel has to be somewhere in her own neighborhood. (?)
I think Alma and Loli had been staying with Alma for some time and Pedrito for a shorter amount. I agree with you in that I don't think Angel is there.
Brayan is stone cold; I'll never forget him stabbing Lucas so brutally.
I also loathe kidnapping plots and hope this comes to an end quickly. I'm still perplexed though how Beca is going to slither out of this one.
Diana
Kat, thank you for noting Angel is likely at Brayan's. I did not see the skateboards!
"Also his motorcycle was outside after he dropped Ang and Reb off in the black work van and that is how the two left". That makes perfect sense!
Diana
Diana, thank you so much for this excellent recap which must have been difficult to write. After all, how worried should we be that Angel will expire after a scorpion attack? Or for some other reason?
"Usually a heroine kidnapping is done more toward the end of the story isn't it??" I didn't know that, I need to pay better attention to these things. I can't see a lot of tension in a kidnapping of the telenovela reina, and I was very surprised that when Angelli heard JE calling for her out loud, and she responded as best she could while gagged, that there wasn't a romantic mind meld of some sort with JE honing in on her location and crashing through the door. Maybe stomping the nasty tarantula.
Susan, "Who is going to rescue Angel? Shame on Rufino. He could have been a human being." Yeah. He might yet, but I'm not holding my breath. He after all did snatch baby Pedrito from his mother's arms. But who knows?
Anyway, it was nice to see Agente Corral again. But I don't understand why she hasn't been promoted to a much higher rank because she is just so good at her job.
Nice to see Doris again, though not yet with Sea bass, er, Sebas. And I want to see if Wanda now has cooties so she and Pedrito can bond some more.
The scene with Renato and Jimena searching was interesting, but for a technical reason, not part of the story line. Done wrong when she stumbled she could have easily sprained her ankle for real.
I'm hoping things pick up on Monday.
Andy
Andy, thanks so much!
"Nice to see Doris again, though not yet with Sea bass, er, Sebas" had me laughing out loud.
Unfortunately no "romantic mind meld" but what a great idea. Hmmm...since there was no knight in shining armor rescue, I wonder if Angel will save herself? I'd love that!
I'm not holding my breath either in terms of Rufino! "...after all did snatch baby Pedrito from his mother's arms". Anyone who has kidnapped a baby surely won't be bothered by an adult abduction in the slightest. Ack.
Is the tarantula coming back or was it just a cameo??? :)
Diana
Great to read the new comments.
I got to see Doris ringing that bell so happily. I think that Doris is going to bring some snap crackle and pop into Armando and Gi's lives and they in turn will open new doors for spunky , uninhibited Doris. Then, when shy Seabass is pulled into their loving embrace , I'll bet a baby will arrive. you can call me sappy....I love HEAs. Real life can be brutal , but telenovelas should Bring us hope and joy.
I got a kick out of Doris and Jimena walking in those spike heels so earnestly searching for Angel...Ow I would have put on my sneakers before joining that Impromptu search party. Susan, who wears flip flops all summer
"I love HEAs. Real life can be brutal , but telenovelas should Bring us hope and joy".
HEAs are the best Susan! Bring on the "sappy" and the "happy" 😊
Diana
Diana and friend, super job. I enjoyed every word.
When will Monica do a "gotcha!" and threaten Rebeca with the videos? After Angel is dead? I am looking forward to these two locas taking each other down.
