Helena chewed out her father for his attempts at protecting hr, accusing him of thinking her too weak and fragile.

Jezabel went on about Fabrizio having tried to kill her and having killed his father, saying he would kill all of them if he stayed.

Antonio apologized to Helena but she didn't hang around long enough to hear it all.

Dr Rubio told Vicki she would eventually have to go into hospital. She later told Angel that Demon was paying because the medications were not covered.

Jezabel tried to tell Aurora that Fabrizio was dangerous. She worked up the crocodile tears for Aurora who was not convinced that Fabrizio was a danger to Demon. Jezabel almost begged her to help her. Aurora apologized for Miguel's favoritism. Jezabel played hysterical about Fabrizio.

Angel confessed to Pascual that he gave up Helena.

Demon spoke to Dr Mendiola who told him that such crises were common. After he left Demon told Fabrizio he would take care of him. Fabrizio apologized and asked him not to let him end up in a manicomio “because those places are hell.” Demon promised.

JC addressed Luis saying not to confuse love with hormones. He emphasized that Jezabel was likely to hurt him. This went nowhere,

Aurora told Angel she would take a cab home. It came out that Demon was paying for Vicki's care. Angel sent Pascual out for sugar for their tea and Aurora asked what had actually happened.

Aurora and Angel compared notes. Aurora asked Angel why he and Helena broke up. He talked about the risks to her life in the barrio and laid no responsibility on Antonio.

JC and Luis talked a little more. It looked as though JC was giving him enough rope for Jezabel to hang him with.

Helena looked at her sutures in the mirror and thought about Angel. She then received a text from Demon about Fabrizio.

Luis did not believe JC's about-face. However, JC insisted upon full disclosure, nothing hidden. JC didn't necessarily want all the details. Carlito's suicide was mentioned.

Jezabel was getting off on Patricia's videos of Fabrizio. She took a small box out of the desk drawer and had a short disagreement with Demon on her way out.

Patricia met with Pina Bautista, who turned out to be Edgar's egg donor.

JC went to the Santos house to pick up Aurora.

Demon and Edgar were talking about Pintas as Helena entered.

Antonio looked at the roster of worker names and seemed to have a lightbulb moment.

Helena recognized, saying she knew he lived in Angel's neighborhood. Demon started saying that the Pintas they were talking about was an artist, not a house painter. Edgar left. Helena asked about Fabrizio and Demon started telling her about his crises and his concern for him.

Pina seemed to see through Patricia's mask as a society dame as Patricia boasted of having Jezabel as a best friend and mentioned that Edgar was Demon's personal assistant.

Vicki met JC and praised Demon for his help. JC told them that the refectory manager was at the edge of telling the whole truth. Vicki invited them to stay for a dinner of tacos.

Demon and Edgar speculated about the Pintas in the barrio and how Jezabel could possibly know him.

Pina told Patricia to watch what she says because she had connexions. Patricia spoke of nightmares about Valente [who might be the sperm donor of both Edgar and Briana].

Jezabel triggered Fabrizio again about the murder of his father. Demon came in and tried to calm him down. Helena was there. When she and Fabrizio were alone he told her to help Demon who was in danger from Jezabel. He begged her to marry Demon. Helena tried to explain to him that this could not be the reason for the marriage. Jezabel wanted Fabrizio out of the house.

JC and Aurora enjoyed the tacos. JC invited the Santos family to their upcoming wedding and Aurora convinced Angel to return to the office. Antonio arrived.

Briana was determined to marry Angel.

Antonio had come to talk with Pascual. Vicki started to pass out. Angel said that tomorrow would be better. Pascual took Vicki to bed, then went to the pharmacy.

Jezabel called Antonio for help with Fabrizio. He called her back, then left.

Fabrizio was asleep. Helena left. Demon told his sleeping father he would take care of him.

Angel did the same with Vicki.

So..did Pat know Edgar's mother in her murky past? I wonder how Edgar became Demon's bff if he was from poor parents.

Thanks, Urban, that was great. Also thanks for Friday’s recap. Hard to tell if Fabrizio is as psychotic as he seems or if Jezebel is driving him crazy. I guess it’s a little bit of both. I wonder what the pills were, nothing good for him I’m sure.
I wonder if Antonio is going to accuse Pascual of something or just question him about the two guys they suspect.

Angel / Aurora #52

Briana has not had a good life with a BPD mother and an abusive sperm donor for a father, but she is taking that out on Helena by demanding that Angel love her instead. If she doesn't see a shrink soon she will become just like Patricia.

Jezabel is definitely a contributor to Fabrizio's issues and she is enjoying every moment of it. Although he hasn't said so I think Demon knows this about her. I am trying to decide if Demon actually cares about his father or whether he will just try to use him to keep Helena around.

Vicki definitely looks ill.

Antonio will likely ask Pascual about Juventino, but we still are not at the hump.

Angel/Aurora. Excellent recap, Urban! How long before Helena, Antonio, etc. are on to Demian's manipulations? A long time, I suspect. On again, off again yet again with Angel quitting his job and being talked out of it by Aurora. So Edgar's mother is a madam? And presumably Patricia was once a prostitute? Antonio is learning that Pascual was connected to the same construction company as Juventino. How long before he connects all that to Aurora's rape and her father giving Gabriel away?

Antonio arrived at the mansion. He told Fabrizio that he was innocent and that Demon had to know that. He told him he was close to the truth. “You will go on because I will help you.”

Later Jezabel came home carefully placing a pill and a glass of water with black-gloved hands that would prevent fingerprints. She then went off to the company party in a bata de cola [that I wish I'd made for myself back in the day].

Fabrizio woke up and took the pill.

Helena arrived at the party appropriately dressed. Only Demon wore everyday business attire. Antonio arrived in a military officer's uniform with gold epaulets.

Anita joined Angel's and Helena's hands. Rolando took photos with his smartphone. Demon tried to take it away, but failed. However he did pull Helena away.

Fabrizio flashed back to the pillow incident with his father. He had not smothered him to death; his father died looking him in the eye. Then Jezabel entered the room accusing him of murder.

JC tried to talk to Aurora about her maternal instincts for Angel. Antonio arrived and told her of the list of workers and further investigation of the two Juventinos. She could not recall the time lapse involving Gabriel's disappearance but the final conclusion was that Miguel had given Gabriel to the first person he saw on the street.

Demon gloated to Edgar about things going better than he had planned. Edgar wore a white traje de charro and was looking good.

JC mentioned DNA and Aurora agreed. Elvira arrived telling Antonio that the hospital administrator didn't return her calls and this sounded bad. Aurora felt that Rocha was somehow connected to that.

Patricia went to Edgar who did not give her what she wanted. He took the papers she gave him, saying he was going to talk with Demon.

Elvira told Antonio privately that Jezabel knew everything that went on at the hospital. She had not told him previously because she suspected that Jezabel had something to do with all this.

Aquiles, Glorio, and Maggie were hoping to search Jezabel's office because they all suspected her of having had something to do with Carlos' suicide. Cassandra warned them that this was dangerous.

El Morro went to the Santos' house looking for Maggie and Rolando. He was in the same clothes as the last time we saw him. He had been rejected by his mother.

Demon addressed the party as Aquiles entered Jezabel's office to look through her desk. There were two music boxes. Demon called for applause for his grandfather, then his father, then his mother. Aurora and most of the staff we know all looked as though they were going through the motions.

Carmelita went to Fabrizio's room with a tray. He was not there. The shower was running so she knocked on the bathroom door.

Jezabel took the podium to get applause for their most senior employee, Esperanza, as Aquiles looked at the two music boxes. Esperanza accepted a plaque. Demon tried to close the speeches until Antonio interrupted to get him to acknowledge Aurora... which he had to do or look like an idiot.

Luis noticed that Aquiles was missing. Helena went up to Aurora to hug her. Angel followed to kiss Aurora.

As Aquiles went to put back the box he found an ivory envelope containing a medical test result indicating a positive rape kit test. He looked at it carefully before putting it back. Outside Glorio went up to Jezabel to delay notice of Aquiles' absence. The music started, then the dancing.

Carmelita opened the bathroom door and screamed. Fabrizio hang hung himself. She immediately called Demon to tell him his father was dead. He was genuinely shocked; he even dropped his phone. He called Jezabel and shouted it. Everything stopped. Jezabel told Edgar to go with Demon/ She sat down with a show of shock. Antonio and the others looked at her as Edgar and Demon left the party.

El Morro [cleaned up and in freshly-clean new clothes] was at the Santos' table and Vicki gave him some food. He explained that he had always envied Angel for having a loving family.

Jezabel made a spectacle of her faux grief as Patricia fanned her with a sign and she said “I need you” to Aurora. Later at the house she came down the stairs dry-eyed with a sly smirk as Demon entered the bathroom and cried. Everyone else was in shock.

Pintas saw the death notice on his phone. He said to himself that this was good because he had spilled the beans to Fabrizio. Vampi and the other guy – who probably knew nothing of this – were at the other end of the room. They only wondered when the next dinero would appear.

Pascual, Vicki, Anita, and Angel. Briana said that Jezabel was evil. Pascual seemed to know but said nothing more.

Antonio, Helena, and Demon were all in black. Helena told Demon to think of the good times he had had with his father.

He Lunch Crew met in the supply room. Aquiles took out the music box, then told them about the forensic report he had found [as we hope he had been smart enough to photograph it].

Aurora tried to tell Jezabel that Demon needed her support. He had been sure that his father would get better. Fabrizio had hoped to win Demon's heart “while you had only instilled the love of power in him.”

Thank you, Urban , for an excellent recap. I am surprised that the writers killed off Fab. It seemed that he was the one person Demon truly cared About .

Ahhh, I am glad Morrow is all cleaned up and ready to be redeemed . it would be nice to see Rolando have a father in his life . Morrow seemed sincere as he talked to Vicky and enjoyed sitting at a real table in a real home with " mom and dad."
My favorite thing about This show is the way Vicky and Pasquelare so gracious about inviting anyone who walks in their door to sit right down at their table and share their food.

It looked like Aquiles brought a lookalike music box into tHe office and then couldn't figure out such one was Jezebel's. Susan

Thanks Urban, what a shocker of an episode. Fabrizio’s role seemed important to me. He brought out the humanity in Demon, knew the score with Jezabel, and was a friend to Antonio. I figured he’d eventually tell about Jezabel hiring Pintas for the rape. And push Antonio to get their kids back together. I was way off base.

Good to see a new and reformed Morrow. I agree with Susan that Vicky and Pascual are very welcoming and ready to share a meal. Do they have an income.

Watching Aquiles trying to figure out which music box was which was funny. But I’m not sure what they expected to learn from Jezabel’s music box.

Angel/Aurora. Another excellent recap, Urban! Loved the ranchero-themed office party! How long before Antonio discovers the truth about Gabriel's disappearance? I expect a long time, though he does appear to be on the right track. Presumably that pill Jezabel left was either poison or a hallucinogen. Of course, since Demian had Fabrizio cremated almost immediately, we may never know. Maybe Angel did luck out being raised by Pascual and Vicki.

No episode today, but it is listed for tomorrow.

Since we are not at the hump yet this death was obviously meant to delay anyone else from learning the truth about Jezabel hiring Pintas to rape Aurora. As bad as Demon is I think even he would be horrified.

I totally agree that Angel was lucky to have Vicki and Pascual as parents. As good a mother as Aurora would have been to him, he would have been destroyed behind her back by Miguel and Jezabel, who might also have killed him.
 

Angel/Aurora. I went to a retirement party for our local coroner this afternoon. (40 years of excellent service). I'm so glad I didn't miss anything!
