Aurora / Angel #46

This will be ready tomorrow. My flat is freezing and I will be diving under the covers in a few.

Jezabel says that Aurora stole everyone's love from her, starting with their parents and going on to Antonio.
 

Angel/Aurora. Is it possible that now that Angel is a "criminal" the police will check his DNA? Especially since he's accused of some unspecified robberies, for which they would need some kind of evidence that he was present. I think it's too early in the novela to reveal his true identity, though.

JC and Luis went to the hospital. Aurora told Angel to tell JC everything.

Patricia and Fabrizio went home and she tried to make him listen to her gossip-show version of events. He was not inclined but she did coerce him into sex.

El Morro thought about the revelation that he is Rolando's father. Pintas began making fun of him for “being as mawkish as Pascual” then got nasty about him not deserving of being paid for this. El Morro asked him to give him a chance. Pintas agreed, but said he will not tolerate his crocodile tears. He threw a blanket at him.

The eye surgeon told Maggie she was optimistic for Rolando's recovery. He asked Maggie if El Morro was his father. She was uneasy with that and initially said No. He persisted and she was forced to tell the truth.

Jezabel was telling someone on the phone that Angel was a criminal with a hotshot a lawyer. She went on about the suspicion that he was involved with robberies and kidnappings. She said to use every method they had to force a confession. She demanded life without parole and was willing to pay anything to make this happen.

The two detectives left Helena's room as Briana arrived on her broom. Helena had the suspicion that these two were going to use her answers to implicate Angel. She said they were implicating Angwl in something else.

The detectives arrested Angel as Aurora and JC tried to intervene. They had talked to Maggue and several other neighbors [Can we assume thar Demon paid them off?]. Charges were creatubg a public disturbance, entering the fight armed, and causing a dangerous injury to a minor, and drug charges. Aurora told the cops to stop their painful actions.

Briana tried gaslighting Helena who wasn't having it.

JC stepped forward and told Angel not to resist. Antonio told the cops to ease off their handling. This almost provoked a fight with JC. Demon played the Sympathetic Boss so well as to fool almost anyone. Angel asked Aurora not to tell his parents. The cops took Angel away; JC followed them.

Antonio and Aurora disagreed on next steps. He did not want her to tell Helena about this. Aurora was outraged that Antonio would even think Angel was guilty. He was under the impression the Helena's life was on the line. Aurora pointed out to him that Helena and Angel were fighting for their love and was not shocked that Antonio seemed not to understand this.

Jezabel's phone call appeared to have been with a police official. She boasted of this to Demon who told her that Antonio was on their side. “Angel is lost and it won't matter that JC is his lawyer.” Demon made fun of Aurora for her maternal attitude toward Angel. Jezabel asked where they were but Demon ended the call upon seeing Edgar. He explained that he lost track of Pintas who had rushed into a crowd entering the Metro. Demon then said he was useless.

Rolando told Maggie that Angel was not responsible for the street fight. Esperanza, Aquiles, and Glorio visited Rolando. Luis followed them. All brought him gifts and some offered to help with the bill. Maggie told them that Helena had paid so Aquiles suggested they help with the aftercare. Rolando revealed that El Morro was his father. Maggie was embarrassed. The others exchanged looks.

Demon and Edgar entered Helena's room, motioing for Briana to leave. Demon then told her that Angel had been arrested [Por supuesto, we knew that Demon would do this].

Night

Helena protested the arrest, so Demon insisted she not. He told her that Angel had robbed a local business in his area according to what others have said. She thought back to the school cafeteria story.

Antonia and Aurora continued to argue about the dangers of the barrio. His suggestion on separation was because Angel's life was in danger from others and he wanted to protect Helena and get Angel away from gangsters. He and his family needed to get out of the barrio. Aurora nodded.

Fabrizio had a nightmare about his father. Patricia shot this on her phone. [Bitch!]

Antonio decided to check on Helena. He then agreed with Aurora that Gabriel was alive somewhere.

Jezabel went into the police station after Aurora. JC was with Angel as he was faced with false accusations. Someone died during the break-in at the school cafeteria. JC asked about bail. The cop said that this was a complication. JC and Angel looked out the window to see Jezabel in the outer room. The two guys who had warned him about the fight came in. They started by saying that Angel had nothing to do with the fight. They were directed to another desk. JC said that Angel should go free, but the plainclothesman told him that the order was that Angel could not be freed until the next day.

Helena was worried so Antonio told her to rest. Aquiles came in and Antonio left, takiing her cell phone with him despite her objection. Helena asked Aquiles to help her out of the hospital and get her to Angel in the morning.

Fabrizio continued to lose control as Patricia continued to shoot video. He grabbed her head but failed to crush her skull. Instead he backed off and cried out to his dead father that this was his punishment for killing him. Patricia was finally scared.

Jezabel accused Aurora of seeing Gabriel in all the young guys and continued to gaslight her. Aurora told her off and sat back down, refusing to leave the station. “It is for humanity, something you do not have.” Jezabel made a gesture of frustration, then took the seat next to her.

As Pintas slept El Morro carefully removed a zippered puch from under the mattress and stole some cash, then went back to his place on the floor.

Demon and Briana went to the Santos home. Pascual sent Anita to bed but she stood close enough to the door to eavesdrop. Demon told Vicki that Angel had been arrested for involuntary homicide. [Here he almost exceeded his egg donor in cruelty.] Briana looked ill at ease through ll this.

Jc came out and Jezabel tried to get him to convince Aurora to go home with her. She told Jezabel to go home alone. Aurora asked JC what happened. He said that it was complicated because of a death and statements of violence, so Angel could go to prison for 10+ years.

Demon told Pascual and Vicki the same lies and discouraged them from going to the jail, especially at this hour. Briana agreed with him although it looked like she was protecting herself doing so. He got their trust.

Angel and the two guys were locked up together. One said that Pintas had to have been involved. Aurora came in and Angel was ashamed to be seen there.

Demon pretended to be on Angel's side, telling Pascual and Vicki that Antonio was angry. As he continued to BS them Briana looked uneasy. Demon said it would be best if Helena and Angel separate for a while. He asked Pascual if they had relatives elsewhere. Pascual said no, but they had been thinking of a beach vacation. Demon talked them into going away and saying nothing to anyone for their own safety from Angel's enemies. He even said he would get them a house.

Aurora accused Angel that JC is an excellent lawyer. She said nobody – especially his mother – deserved this suffering. That he and Helena deserved too be happy.

Antonio thought about Pascual and Vicki as Helena thought about Angel.
 

Angel/Aurora

Thanks Urban, another great recap. I hate that the good guys are so gullible and believe everything Drmon and Jezabel say. Briana was obviously helping Demon make his case. Why do people think that if they get rid of the person someone loves that someone will automatically love them.

Patricia is about as low as Jezabel. Filming a mentally ill man. I wonder if she’ll end up having that on the 6:00 news.

I’m hoping El Morro will reform himself and become a model father. He didn’t like Pintas using Rolando. Maybe he’ll even help Angel and friends. But 126 episodes! We have a long way to go.

Angel/Aurora. Excellent recap, Urban! And another tense episode. That injury turned out to be a good thing for Rolas. He got both his head injury and eye defects fixed at once. And of course Jezebel is framing Angel! Presumably because she knows his real identity and doesn't want her sister to be happy. Too bad the frame (I expect with a fair amount of greasing palms) is working so well. I hope Helena's oncologist friend can help Vicki.
 

Angel / Aurora #47

I don't think Jezabel knows that Angel is Gabriel. I doubt that Miguel would have trusted her with that information back in the day. Knowing her as we do she would have had him murdered long before this and gloated about it.

Which I doubt she would have been able to hide from Miguel for very long. She managed to hide her hatred of Aurora up until just before his death. What he overheard in the study and what she said after that then was so shocking it was what killed him. (That was in Episode 11.)

Pintas would not have told her either because this would be an ace up his sleeve in case he needed one.

Jezabel's motive for her current atrocities is to put Helena into a gift box for Demon so he can amuse himself abusing her while they strip her of her current assets. There is also the usual class snobbery going on.

In my life I have concluded that people coming from generational wealth can have a serious fear of people from "lower" classes getting educated enough to earn fortunes comparable to their own.

NOTE: I will be in a medical facility all day on Monday. Will someone please post the most important bullet points that day? I will likely not be able to see the Monday episode until Tuesday morning.

Part 1 of 3

Morning

Helena and Antonio woke up and he talked about how she and Angel reminded him of himself and Aurora back in the day. She saw how he did not want her and Angel to repeat their experience [There was no talk about contraception two episodes ago]. She said that Aurora was one of the best people she has ever known. Antonio said that Aurora had taken a lot, but recovered. He told her to not go to the barrio, that Angel had to leave Campero, and he and his dad would come to work for him.

It was 3AM. Demon told Edgar that Angel was likely to be released in a few hours. They needed to assume control of the situation.

JC apologized to Aurora for arguing with her on the road. He recognized that Angel was a good guy. He agreed to help her look for Gabriel.


The Next Morning

Antonio returned to Helena's room to discover she had left earlier with Aquiles.

Edgar crashed Jezabel's breakfast to see if she had need of his services [Which ones? Enquiring minds want to know!]. She told him not to consider himself indispensable. He told her he found out where Pintas lived. She asked what he knew and he answered that both he and Demon knew that she and Pintas go back a long time. Neither knew that Fabrizio was on the other side of the closed door.

Aurora arrived at the police station as Agente Pavel was about to question Angel and the other guys. JC was there on their behalf. He was not pleased that the refectory boss will be there shortly. He told Aurora not to worry, told Angel not to sign anything, and then Helena came in with Aquiles.

Demon called Edgar and called him an idiot. Edgar told him not to worry; that Jezabel knew nothing.

Unfortunately for El Morro Pintas took out the pouch and saw that there was money missing.

Anita told Maggie and Rolando that Angel had been arrested but that Demon came in to help. Maggie was uneasy at this. She left the room to make a call. Anita told Maggie and Rolando that Angel was with Demon. Rolando made Anita promise to keep a secret. He confessed to having stolen the cell phones.

Pintas and El Morro argued, then fought.

Just as Vicki and Pascual arrived the boss from the refectory fingered Angel.

Antonio talked with Elvira about the search. He handed her a list of construction workers' names from 1994; she said they would be on Social Security's list and she would get on it.

Angel denied the accusation, saying this man lied. He had been at home with his parents all day and night on the day of the crime, but the cop did not ask more about it. He sent Angel and the two others back to lock-up. JC pointed out that a voice ID is insufficient, but Agente Pavel said the next step is the judge. Demon then sauntered in in his suit and dark glasses [Like Francisco Scaramanga, perhaps?] Angel was surprised, as was Aurora. JC had a bad vibe.

Demon introduced himself to Agente Pavel, saying he wanted to speak with Angel. Everyone was piling onto the refectory boss who looked like he was about to run for his life.

Rolando confessed to Anita in detail, then went into crisis mode at the memory of Pintas' threats of children's prison. The nurse entered and Anita walked out, telling Maggie she would take the Metro home.

Pascual and Vicki were escorted out of the police station. Demon told Helena to trust him. He tried the same with Aurora, but JC did not take his eyes off him.

Demon ordered Aquiles to take Helena back to the hospital. Aurora was suspicious about Demon being there. He made (insincere) comments about being there for an employee which neither Aurora nor JC believed, JC told Aurora to accompany Helena.

Antonio told Elvira to find Gabriel's body and notify him ASAP. Aurora, Helena, and Aquiles came out of the station with the bad news that Angel would not be released before the end of the week. Antonio told Aquiles he would take Helena home.

JC told Pavel that a voice ID alone was inadequate. Agente Arsenio was to escort Demon and his chosen lawyer to see Angel. Demon smirk-shrugged at JC taking offense at this.

Is Jezabel losing it? She wrote Demon's and Fabrizio's names on a sheet, crossed out Fabrizio's name and wondered if Demon was a traitor.

Fabrizio went to the office to find Patricia so he could talk to her. She was giving a fake apology to Cassandra. Edgar came in to ask Cassandra to lunch, but Fabrizio interrupted to ask who Pintas was.

El Morro ran into the park with Pintas behind him. He tripped on the steps and they began fighting. A few insults later Morro head-butted Pintas and got away, limping up the steps.

Patricia asked about this but Fabrizio said nothing. Patricia told Cassandra she was going to Briana's office but Cassandra did a schoolteacher scold and told her she was not welcome. She allowed her only because she was in Fabrizio's company. As they walked away Fabrizio demanded to know about the videos on her phone.

A note fell from the the glass the maid brought to Helena. Aurora picked it up but did not look at the other side. She told Helena to take care of herself and JC will handle the case. Helena asked why everything was so complicated.

Angel was taken to an interrogation room with his hands cuffed behind his back. Demon said it was so nobody would “bother” him. Angel told him to talk to JC but Demon insisted that “The only one who can help you is I.” [The close-up of his jacket pocket must mean he has a recording device in it.] Angel stood up and called for the guard. Demon first said he would help him, then deliberately riled him up and called him an animal by talking about Vicki's illness. Angel cooled down a bit but Demon started it again by saying that when Vicki dies Pascual would not withstand the pain and Anita would end up in an orphanage “and it will all be your fault.”

El Morro's and Pintas' fight continued on a bridge. The money flew in the air as Pintas kicked El Morro in the tuchas and he rolled down the steps. Pintas was about to stomp on him when a young couple came running over. The man called for an ambulance. Pintas ran for it.... without the money.

Demon went on about 10 years minimum, claiming that JC could do nothing about it. He then offered him a deal for his freedom: Medical care for Vicki, etc., if he forgets about Helena forever[whom I'm sure he and his egg donor plan to kill after seizing her assets].

Anita ran home and encountered a very bloodied Pintas. She called him out on what he did to Rolando.

Patricia deleted the videos in front of Fabrizio [but likely had saved then to the cloud before this]. Fabrizio tried explaining to Patricia that therapy helps but doesn't stop nightmares. He was not sure he actually killed his father. He tried to tell her not to tell Jezabel but we all know that any promise of hers means nada.

Pintas said that Rolando was a liar. He threatened Anita. Palmiro appeared and Pintas ran.

JC and Antonio argued about Aurora yet again.

Angel called for the guard again. Demon asked Angel what he valued more, his mother's life or a temporary relationship with Helena. “She does not belong in your world,” etc. [This creep doesn't give up, does he? Nor does he want to know that Helena doesn't love him.].

JC accused Antonio of using Helena to be near Aurora. Antonio asked him what made him think he was the key to Aurora's happiness “or that she doesn't still love me?”

Helena told Aurora she would renounce Angel if he were freed.

Angel continued to resist. Demon waved the money card, saying this offer expired that day. He threatened 20 years if he costs Helena any grief, nor would he be at Vicki's funeral. Now Demon became the one to show hatred and wrath [which he will likely edit out of the recording made from something in his jacket pocket].
