FUGITIVAS #30 Part 1

Ester tells the fugitivas she is taking off for Spain and stalks out of the room. Then, not so shockingly, Montse announces she is going with her!! The fugitivas don’t trust Ester as far as they can throw her and are immediately upset, Lisset in tears trying to get her to change her mind; they warn Montse that Ester makes promises she has no intention of keeping. Montse seems determined and grabs the black bag and walks out.

Alejandro tells Vilchis (who seems a bit sympathetic to Lorena’s plight) how important his testimony is. Alejandro keeps harping on her innocence. More Coca Cola placement!

Brenda natters on until Patricio addresses her formally in front of Ismael. Suspicions aroused, “what is your personal relationship with Marta” she queries curiously. “Por Dios Amanda” he counters, scolding her as she petulantly strides out.

Erick is with his buds when Alejandro calls. He asks Erick to ensure Lorena contacts him.

Florencia calls Ismael and he agrees to see her later.

Lisset, Frida and Lorena bemoan Montse’s departure. Erick comes in and asks what’s wrong. It’s a long story Lisset says. Erick gives his phone to Lorena and asks her to call Alejandro. Alejandro tells her to meet him, it’s important. “Esta bien” she answers smiling. She tells the girls and Erick she is leaving.

Vero burst into Florencia’s office for a little catty banter.

Dario and Matias enter the kitchen after their heart to heart and find Marta there. Matias gives her nasty attitude and tells her he isn’t interested in talking with her. A distraught Marta cries “mi nieto”; she wants to leave as there are so many problems. Dario tells her they should try and recapture their mother/son relationship. He reassures her and they end up hugging; he kisses her cheek as she cries. They have another emotional scene later where she kisses her son’s hand and he hugs her again.

FUGITIVAS #30 Part 2

Alejandro tells Lorena she is guapa. I gather they have concocted some sort of plan but their conversations were beyond me and I can’t hazard a guess as to what was said.

Vincente greets Gabriela; Vincente bemoaning his depressing family.

Ismael comes home and Florencia is waiting for him. He pours white wine as she sits nervously. She thanks him and pleads for another chance. She recalls what happened the night Juan Pablo was murdered and brings up Lorena. Brenda calls Ismael and interrupts. After he leaves she smiles and breathes a sigh of relief.

Marta finally goes back to work and apologizes; she says she is back at her son’s house and her employer is very understanding.

Ester and Montse are riding in a car, Montse seemingly already having buyer’s remorse. Ester prattles on and on but Montse simply stares at the black bag ignoring Ester.

Frida and Lisset FINALLY open their black bag only to find blank pieces of paper! (Why on earth did it take them all this time to look?? Further, they really shouldn’t have been surprised, should they?) Lisset throws the paper on the floor, they’ve been conned.

When Ester leans forward, talking with the driver, Montse pulls the black bag off the floor onto her lap.

When Lorena returns, the girls, in anger and disgust, show her the papers.

When the car stops, Montse gets out to use the rest room and takes the bag with her. Ester immediately sees it is missing and rushes after her. They start fighting over the bag as Ester threatens to call the police (that’s rich). Ester takes the bag and goes back to the car.

The girls show Marta the worthless papers; she asks about Montse.

FUGITIVAS #30 Part 3 of 3

When Ismael returns, Florencia is waiting with red wine and dinner.

Montse knocks on door of a house of a man she knows. She offers him money but he waves it aside and invites her in.

Lorena is ready to put whatever plan she has hatched into motion and quietly says goodbye to Marta, Lisset and Frida. You are my hermana she tells Frida hugging her tightly; she then walks out the door as Lisset and Frida smile.

Montse thanks the man that gave her shelter for the night. The next day he offers to drive her to her destination…

Alejandro is waiting for Lorena at court. Alejandro calls Vilchis and his sister answers. She tells him Vilchis is in the hospital in critical condition. We see she is sitting by his side as he is lying in a hospital bed, hooked up to an IV seemingly unconscious. The sister hangs up, and we see someone standing there looking fierce and ominous. “Lorena” Alejandro thinks to himself, now desperate to reach her before she turns herself in.

The dialog was especially challenging tonight so I glossed over what I didn’t understand rather than trying to guess and getting things wrong. Anything you can add would be very much appreciated.

Juana #26 part 1

David is still declaring his love for Juana. I can’t believe he’s playin the exact same type as in Mina’s de Passion. She knows his feelings but she has feelings for Gabriel. David wants to take care of her. She’s the most important thing.

Josefina, Memo and Pepita are talking about the party. The food was bad, no cake, no games. Josefina was glad the boys turned on the sprinkler so they could go. Pepito is worried about that witch adopting Nicholas. Josefina says Father Jose will never let that happen She asks Jenny who the lady with Felipe was, she tells her an executive in the company.

Inez, Carlos and Enriqueta are leaving the party. Enriqueta mentions Juana’s uncle. Carlos tells her she’s always been so strict with protocol and rules. Now she’s involved in a scandal She leaves and Inez goes with her.

Manuel’s mom is angry and yelling at him. She’s mad the lover was at Paula’s house. His father is a liar and he’s doing his father’s biddings.

Gabriel is yelling at Paula. It wasn’t a kids party, she didn’t do it for Nicholas. Paula says she adores Nicholas. He reminds her he told her he didn’t want to adopt. Just sign the divorce papers. She mentions the unknown girl carrying his baby and how he stopped looking. Camila, who was there the whole time, tells them to calm down. They’re friends. Gabriel says they’re not friends. He says sign the papers and leaves. Paula is upset but Camila tells her their plan is working. Juana left with David. Camila feels it seems like Paula hates Gabriel. She likes the prestige, social status etc. She blames Gabriel with being obsessed with having a child. She hates Juana.

Gabriel is upset, the divorce is not going smoothly. He feels something for Juana and he felt it before he knew about the baby. Carlos says he needs to tell her about the baby.

Gabriel calls Juana but she’s asleep and David answers. He tells Gabriel Juana was in the garden, humiliated and he brought her to his apartment. He hangs up on Gabriel.

Juana wakes up and thanks David for bringing her from the fiesta to his home. She feels secure and safe. He asks how she feels with Gabriel. She feels a million things. But at the fiesta she felt she was in the middle of Paula and Gabriel. David tells her they hadn’t been getting along for a while and Gabriel is obsessed with having a baby. Then David asks how the father of her baby can just not be involved. She tells him the truth about her pregnancy.

Tardía comes into the police station saying it’s an emergency. She tells Salvador she has a plan to make Jenny and Felipe jealous, they’ll go out together.

Felipe, Josefina and Jenny are talking about the party. So much luxury but what a disaster. Now Josefina is sure Juana is in danger.

Enriqueta asks Inez about Felipe’s girlfriend. Inez says he only has eyes for you. He may be the love of your life.

Juana and David are talking about Juana the virgin. That’s a one in a million chance. He offers to drive her home, she prefers to walk.

The family have to tellJuana that Gabriel is toxic. Josefina asks Felipe about Enriqueta.

FUGITIVAS /Jarifa comments 1

Diana, thank you for your very fine recap to go along with my coffee this lovely fall morning. .

Here are some conversations/details:
-Vilchis tells Alejandro that he saw JP at he bank, attended to him but never had a relationship with him.
-Amanda doesn't get why they didn't interrogate Marta whether she wanted to cooperate with them or not.
-Erick tells Alejandro that Patricio and Ismael were at the bar last night looking for the fugitivas.
-Florencia still wants to save her marriage.
-The fugitivas have no idea where they are going to go since Marta is throwing them out.
-Erick tells Frida and Lisset he will happily drive the fugitivas to the border. He is a part of the team, they cannot leave without him and he kisses Lisset.
-Vero tells Flo they can be happy without men. Vero refuses to give up on her marriage and Ismael's bright future.
-Dario tells Marta to give it time with her grandson.
-Lorena tells Alejandro all about Ester and her scheme and why they all felt coerced to participate in it. He gives her the good news that her guilty verdict is about to be annulled. Vilchis is ready to testify to the judge tomorrow that the Márquez's forced him to create those accounts, make the deposits and testify against her. He advises her that at the same time, she needs to turn herself in. She will have to pay for her escape according to the offer that was made from the prosecutor's office but at the same moment that the judge vacates her verdict, she will be freed. She happily agrees to follow his directions.
-Ismael tells Flo that he cannot forgive her this time. He doesn't know how to.
She answers that she forgave him about the Lorena thing. He answers that he cannot get it out of his head that she killed JP. She denies killing him and wants to explain to him how things were with JP. It was 10 pm the night that JP died. Her father was giving his anniversary speech and she wanted to be with Ismael. She didn't see him anywhere so she went to find him. She saw him talking to be and being loving with Lorena. She decided to hide. It hurt her so much to see how he looked at Lorena and how he kissed her. She realized he was in love with her. She followed him into the house and hid as she watched him make a call. She felt like she wanted to die. Then there was the scream from the maid that a man was in the water. She saw him run outside and followed after him. We see him help pull JP out of the water. She is telling him all this now sho he knows she ahd nothing to do with JP's death. She was behind him the whole evening. She never told him that she knew about Lorena because she was in jail. Ismael says he never intended to hurt her and they were separated when he was with Lorena. She says they were still MARRIED and he had no business kissing his lover at her father's house. He seems to agree with that last part. He apologizes but he is honest that he doesn't think they have a future together. She begs and thankfully his phone rings. It is Amanda telling him another fugitiva has been located. He has to leave. She asks him to think about saving their marriage.
-Marta is interested in going to the domestic violence group.
-Frida and Lisset feel like Montse was in on the con leaving them with nothing.
-Lorena gives Lisset and Frida the good news about her pending freedom. Marta is not surprised that they were left with worthless paper. Marta agrees to let them work one more night so they can leave with at least their tips but she cannot put her family at risk.
- Vero made lasagna.
 

FUGITIVAS /Jarifa comments 2

-Monste stops at a small hotel.(?) She offers the man (Lucho) at the door 50 pesos for some place to spend the night. He sees her condition, refuses to take her money and offers her a free armchair for the night.
-Lorena gives Lisset and Frida her tips from the night to help them out. They feel bad about what they did to Marta. Erick is getting things ready to leave early in the morning. Marta who is pretending to be asleep in the same room gets up and tells them not to go. They are like her daughters.
-The next morning, Marta wishes Lorena the best of luck.
-Montse tells Lucho she is going to Mexico City. He offers to give her a lift to the bus stop(?)
 

Juana #26 part 2

Gabriel arrives at David’s calling for Juana. David tells him she left. Gabriel needs to tell her something. He asks how she is. David tells him she’s bad, sad and tired. He says the party was a trap for Juana by Paula and Gabriel allowed it. Gabriel tells David he and Juana have a lot in common. David says just the baby. Gabriel asks how he knows, and did he tell Juana. David thinks Gab only has feelings for Juana because of the baby. Gabriel says he felt something before he knew it was his baby. David says he’s crazy for the baby, not Juana. That his feelings changed for Paula when she didn’t get pregnant. David’s going to help and defend Juana even if it costs him his friendship with Gabriel.

Paula is crying when Tania comes in to ask what’s wrong? It’s Gabriel, she’s at the point of losing him. Tania suggests the model might be the problem and Paula grabs her and tells her she’ll kill her if she tells anyone.

Juana tells her family she’s sorry for the way they were treated. They were right. Gabriel is a good person but she doesn’t want to be in the middle of the situation, the married couple. She’s quitting her job. She feels she’s giving up her chance at love. When she leaves Jenny comments that all the women in the family have trouble with love.

Paula doesn’t want the money and houses. She wants Gabriel. She tears up the papers. She’ll never divorce him, he’s hers.

Camila is thinking of Rogelio’s wife yelling at her. Rent arrives. She wants him to take her to her mother.

Jenny is walking, and steps in the street with a car coming Salvador runs and grabs her and pushes her out of the way. She calls him her angel and thanks him for saving her life. He leans in to kiss her but she stops him. The women in her family have bad luck with love. When he saw her almost get hit he felt it in his soul. She stops him from talking and walks away.

Felipe is telling his coworker about Enriqueta and then Yardia coming up and saying she was his girlfriend.
Rent brings Camila to her mom. Her mom doesn’t know she’s there. She’s blind and lives in a bad place. Glad to see Reny. He asks about her kids. She won’t talk about Paula, that ingrate. It sounds like her brother is in jail because of her.

Gabriel comes home and sees the torn up papers. Paula will never give him a divorce. He says she always accused him about Juana but she was the one who cheated, with Lorenzo. He shows her a video on his phone. He tells her they both deserve to be happy, her with Luciano, he wants Juana.

Gabriel is at the cabin thinking of both women.

Paula tells Camila the plan didn’t work but Camila says it did. The plan was for Juana to leave Gabriel, not for Gabriel to leave Juana.

Felipe is going to drive Juana to work. He has a surprise for Enriqueta. His shirt matches his eyes and Juana and Josefina are happy for him.

Gabriel is talking with Alberta and Tomas. They tell him he’s like a son to them. He tells them he’s divorcing Paula. They are pleased, they never got along with her. They like Juana, she’s sweet, nice, sincere and sensible.

Paula’s mom asks why Camila is at Paula’s. She says they’re friends. Paula needs help and doesn’t want to be alone.

Felipe and Juana are at the brewery. Felipe goes to Enriqueta’s office with a bag. Enriqueta is at home thinking of that kiss, when Inez calls. She’ll see her at work.

Paula’s mom is telling her to be calm. Rogelio arrives. The wife tells him she doesn’t know what happened but Gabriel left Paula Paula tells him all is well except she hates Juana. She goes to another room and gets a gun

Gabriel calls Juana. He apologizes because she and her family were humiliated. He’s left his house, told Paula they can’t continue together.

Wow, Paula put a gun into her pants waistband . She doesn't seem like the type to do that because it would make her designer slacks hang funny . Is that a gun in your pants or are you just happy to see me.

Who is Reny, the guy who took Cam to her mother . yikes Cam has a terrible past and seemingly no concern for her poor mother . I'd like to see Paula's mother let loose on Cam .

So, Lorena is going to be declared innocent , but she will have to pay for breaking out of jail ...where she shouldn't have been to begin with. Okay.

Well, crooked Arturo and his crooked business is behind this whole mess , but who actually killed smarmy JP. I still it was his loving (ha) fiancee Vero,c who never seemed torn up about his death and immediately jumped on Nick. Susan

I am so grateful for all that you added in your intriguing, completely engrossing very fine fashion.

I did not understand what was going to happen with Lorena if Vilchis had testified. Thank you for illuminating that and for explaining the grave danger Lorena is now walking into blindly.

I did realize Florencia was telling Ismael her version of the night of the murder and that she had shadowed him but definitely not the detail you so graciously provided. I am now more certain than I was previously Florencia did not kill Juan Pablo. I'm thinking Arturo might be behind the murder.

I was very surprised at "Frida and Lisset feel like Montse was in on the con leaving them with nothing". Where is the one for all and all for one??

So Marta's talked the girls into staying...

"Ismael tells Flo that he cannot forgive her this time. He doesn't know how to". I hope he doesn't cave! It's just prolonging the agony especially as he still doesn't know she was with Nicolas. Yet.

Like Susan, loved "Vero made lasagna". HA!!! :)

Arturo seemed genuinely surprised when Florencia told him of her affair with Juan Pablo. But that doesn't mean he didn't hate/resent him for a long list of other reasons. Could JP possibly have blackmailed Arturo? Strictly conjecture...

Liz, I'm not watching this but happened to tune in and saw this scene. I immediately shook my head, surmising the actor was once again cast as the almost galan who was going to lose the girl. I was so intrigued I read your excellent recap and yup, it's almost a carbon copy of Minas.

Carlos Gatica deserves a galan role and deserves more than coming in a distant second.

Susan, Reny is the guy that works at the brewery. I thought he was a maintenance man but he drives a truck. He recognized Camila and also brought the security guys pizza so Manuel could put the bacteria in the vats.

Diana, I am enjoying this show, but Carlos Gatica is the exact same character. To me he comes across as needy. He knows she has no feelings for him but declares his love. He needs to be the galan sometime soon.

FUGITIVAS #31 Part 1

Alejandro, having learned that Vilchis is in the hospital in critical condition, frantically tries to reach Lorena before she turns herself in. At that moment, Lorena arrives at police headquarters, alights from her ride and starts to enter…Alejandro calls her and quickly asks where she is. She tells him and he frantically tells her to get out of there.

Alejandro calls Vilchis’ phone and the villainous looking man standing there orders Vilchis’ sister to answer. She tells Alejandro her brother is very ill but the thug grabs the phone and hangs up. Alejandro calls back but gets voice mail.

Florencia is in black silk pjs pouring Ismal his morning coffee. She grabs him and gives him a kiss…

Lorena is on the phone with Alejandro as he tells her Vilchis was beaten up and in the hospital; she is impactada.

Coffee time for Vincente and Gabriela as they mutually share a kiss.

Dario wakes up Matias and wants him downstairs, Matias gives him lip and rolls over.

Alejandro looks up various hospitals and starts calling one by one to see if Vilchis is a patient. He strikes out on the first.

Brenda and Ismael enter Vilchis’ room and seem dismayed at his battered countenance. “Claudio” his sister whispers, indicating they have company. When Ismael asks who did this he (unbelievably) answers Lorena Martinez!

Lorena returns “home’”; what happened Marta inquires, incredulously.

FUGITIVAS #31 Part 2

Vilchis informs Ismael that Lorena is responsible saying that she had appeared a few days ago, insisting he change his declaration. If he didn’t comply, he was told he’d live to regret it. His sister feeds him water as he coughs. He tells about his harrowing experience, being beaten up. He also said something about Marquez. Ismael tells him he needs to make an official declaration. After they leave Vilchis stares at his sister.

Lorena tells Marta her heart is broken; everything is a mess and she doesn’t see how she is going to prove she isn’t guilty. Marta asks her not to despair and have hope.

Matias mopes in the bar as Frida cleans. He lashes out saying Marta is an assassin and is mentirosa. She disagrees and enumerates the reasons why Marta is a wonderful person. He cries as she holds him. Dario enters and she motions for him to give her a minute. Dario comes back and asks what is going on. They bond sweetly and hug each other comfortingly.

Montse, looking exhausted from walking, manages to sit on a park bench. She is in tears and distraught.

Alejandro enters Vilchis’ room much to his sister’s consternation. She begs the nurse to call security; when they arrive, Alejandro shakes them off and leaves of his own volition. Vilchis stares, seemingly horrified.

Vincente is encouraging his students to draw and compliments Jose for doing a good job with his drawing. He communicates via rudimentary sign language with the boy that doesn’t talk.

Lisset is back at work and Charo hasn’t mellowed an iota! Lisset takes a heavy dish from her and all she gets is Charo’s ire and disdain. When Lisset tries to whistle while she works, Charo yells “silencio”!

Brenda continues to badmouth Lorena to her father calling her “loco”.

Florencia visits Arturo who tells his daughter that she need not worry about the witness who was going to testify for Lorena, corroborating her story. He also wants her to work on gaining Gabriela’s confidence. He is more than skeptical that she has not communicated with her sister.

Two quick scenes that I could not translate; the first was Vilchis and his sister, the second, between Ismael and Nico.

FUGITIVAS #31 Part 3 of 3

Dario and Carmen quarrel. He tells her the problem isn’t the girls, it’s you! He then pushes her away. She tries to involve Matias in the argument but he wants no part of it and stalks off. She puts her hands up to her face.

Lorena talks with Marta and Frida as Montse comes in. I thought you were in Spain! Forgive me Montse says. Frida then pulls out the bag of paper and dumps it on the bed. The girls are sympathetic to Montse and of course all is forgiven.

Charo upbraids Lisset (yet again) as she sneers at her.

Montse and the girls discuss their situation. Frida remembers something and pulls out a folder from the closet but the others dissuade her (?)

Alejandro visits Ismael. Alejandro knows Florencia was the amante of Juan Pablo but Ismael denies she killed him.

As Alejandro leaves, he calls Lorena. Brenda follows him down the stairs barely a foot away, listening to his conversation. Overhearing everything, she grabs the phone from him and angrily threatens to put Lorena in jail!

I apologize for what I missed; I tried the best I could.

Juana #27 part 1

Gabriel has told Juana his marriage is over. Juana tells him she can’t be the reason his marriage breaks up. Gabriel tells her she isn’t, it was bad long before they met. He’ll meet her outside the brewery to eat and explain many things

Paula’s mother is telling Rogelio that Paula is really bad and can’t be left alone. Meanwhile Paula’s putting the gun in her purse. Her parents want to help her but she doesn’t need them, she has a husband to care for her. Rogelio tells her she’s too much woman for Gabriel, divorce him. Paula replies if her mother is too much woman for him, fix your own marriage. She leaves and his wife tells Rogelio to go after her.

Felipe tells Juana he needs to leave before Enriqueta sees him as he left a surprise in the office. She asks how they met and he tells her. Juana says so that connected. Felipe says yes.

Carlos and Inez tell Enriqueta that the beer is contaminated. Manuel is telling his dad that Quality Control found the bacteria in the beer. Rogelio tells Manuel to be calm, if he acts nervous they’ll suspect him. Rogelio enters his office to see an open file cabinet. He opens a gun box and a gun is missing. He looks up at a camera and opens his laptop and sees Paula taking the gun. I thought she was at home when she took the gun so found this confusing! But it was his home office. Although he had gone after Paula. Rogelio calls Manuel and tells him to find Paula, she took his gun and he’s sure she’s heading for the brewery and that photographer.

David shows Juana her finished ads. He congratulates her, he’s very proud and wants to celebrate. She tells him she’s quitting. She thanks him for the opportunity but can’t work here. Just then a coworker tells David about the bacteria. Carlos and Enriqueta are asking quality control how this could happen.

David leaves and the coworker picks up the ad and says “your first Rubio baby”. She then explains it’s her first project here. Juana goes to her desk and is alone when Paula walks in with her hand in her purse. She came to take back her life. Paula tells her she’s quitting. David comes in, then others. Paula is yelling that she’s trying to take her husband and David is telling her “enough” and that Juana is a good person. Manuel comes in and grabs Paula and takes her out.

Jenny is smiling, thinking of the almost kiss with Salvador. Josefina comes in and grabs the iron, almost burned her brother’s shirt. She mentions guardian angels. She says Salvador, he’s the only man that’s been good to her in her life. Tardía arrives with facial creams for Josefina. She mentions Felipe but she has a secret. She’s with the detective. Met with silence and looks. Jenny then says Salvador wants her. Yardia mentions how Jenny spoke to Salvador at dinner. Tardía asks Josefina if Jenny seemed jealous.

Manuel tells Paula she’ll end up in jail. Paula says “Gabriel is mine”. She was only going to frighten Juana. Manuel sees the hate in her face. She admits she wants Juana dead. Rogelio comes in. He has a crazy wife, a useless son and a daughter who’s an assassin. He tells her to wake up. Then hugs her.

The top guys are meeting. But no Rogelio. Gabriel says they can’t release the add until they clear this up. Carlos will talk to security. It’s someone in the company. Gabriel says they need a plan. Camila says they can count on her.

Manuel has Paula outside. Camila joins them. She’s still declaring “Gabriel is mine”. Manuel takes her home.

Felipe is checking his phone. Anxious to her from Enriqueta. Chimis is his coworker, he’s sure she’ll respond with emojis.

Enriqueta’s office is filled with balloons. She tells the group it’s a day of surprises. Inez goes in the office to help her. Carlos tells Gabriel it must be the boyfriend, Juana’s uncle. Camila says their tenticuls reach everywhere. Maybe they’re responsible for the bacteria.

Juana # 27 part 2

David and two colleagues are trying to cheer up Juana. It’s not her fault, the marriage was always bad. Paula wanted his last name but not a baby. Then David mentions the artificial insemination. This is when I start to dislike him.

Inez and Enriqueta are breaking balloons. Enriqueta finds a sweet note about how she fills Felipe’s heart with colors.

Gabriel and Rogelio are talking about the traitor. Rogelio is accusing Gabriel and talking about the marriage and the business. Gabriel tells him to separate the two. He says he’s been obsessed with the photographer. He then tells her Paula came armed and almost shot Juana. Rogelio feels the marriage was a reconciliation of the two families. He’s ruining it for that stupid girl.

Felipe calls Enriqueta. She’s not happy, this is her off office and it was rediculous. She hangs up but Felipe keeps smiling, pretending for Chili’s sake.

Rogelio is talking with Camila. Tells her Gabriel thinks there’s a traitor in the company and Carlos probably put that idea in his head. When Camila asks something he asks if she suspects someone. Then he says he’s busy with Paula, the Rubios have always used the Fuenayors.

Gabriel and Carlos talk. The security tapes show nothing. Gabriel tells him Rogelio suspects him. Tells Carlos about Paula being armed.

Manuel doesn’t want to leave Paula alone. He thinks she should accept the divorce. She sends him off.

Juana comes to Enriqueta. Juana didn’t know what her brother planned. She’s angry but Juana says Felipe probably did it to bring a smile to her face. Then she tells her she’s quitting. Enriqueta looks sorry. She asks if David and Gabriel know. Just David knows

Inez tells Gabriel the restaurant reservation is made. Carlos tells Gabriel he needs to concentrate on the business. As soon as he tells Juana everything will be fine. Camila is listening. She goes to Inez’s computer, then calls Paula and tells her where to go.

Gabriel and Juana are talking about what happened. She starts to ask him about what David says but Inez interrupts to tell him an engineer needs to talk to him.

Felipe and Chili’s are talking about Enriqueta. Chimis thinks he’s worrying too much. Yardia arrives. She brought a tortilla for Chimis. She needs the name of a place to go dancing.

Dani asks Juana to eat in the cafeteria. Juana can’t, she’s meeting Gabriel. She tells Dani about Paula and that she can’t work here anymore.

Felipe tells Josefina he messed up with Enriqueta. Josefina thinks he should be with Yardia, they get along well and she’s from the neighborhood.

Tardía needs a favor from Chimis. He needs to convince Felipe to go to a bar with him. She tells him he’s handsome. She’ll give him free haircuts for a year for doing this. He agrees.

Enriqueta wants to talk to Gabriel about Juana. Camila sees this and calls Paula.

Paula is at the restaurant when Paula shows up. She wants to kill Juana. She tells her she tried to have a baby with him but couldn’t. So he tried with a surrogate who lost the baby. But all was not lost because a stupid, young woman that got pregnant at the doctor’s. Juana is carrying Gabriel’s baby.

Thanks Liz. I tried to take note of the mechanic's name that works with Felipe. Yadira calls him Chimis but the CC put Pepe in brackets when he spoke so I don't know what his name is! Wiki lists a character named Pepito. One scene she asks him for help and he says something about having to lose weight before he can be in one of her x rated films. At least I think that was what was said. I wonder if that is her side hustle since she seems to just give away her beauty products. The bar they want to go to is the one that Jenny works at.

EXTRAS
-Flo tries to entice Ismael with another homemade dinner that night but he rejects her offer making it clear that just because he had dinner and stayed over doesn't mean a thing.
-Matías is bummed out and doesn't want to go to school. An exasperated Dario says he will let him stay home only this one time.
-Lisset and Frida want to move so as not to put Marta or Darío at risk but Marta insists that they stay until they can afford to move on.
-Vilchis says that after Lorena was found guilty and sent to prison on his testimony, he started to get threats that he was going to be sorry for what he had done. He left his job and moved out of fear. Then he ran into Lorena who wanted him to change his testimony and to testify that he had falsified the deposits and that he had been paid to do so. He refused to lie to the authorities. The night before, he was kidnapped by two men in a van who took him out to the middle of no where where he saw Lorena who wanted him to incriminate the Márquez family. When he refused, they beat him.
-Frida tells Matías Marta was only defending herself when his drunken grandfather tripped and fell down the stairs. She should have reported him for domestic abuse before but she never did. He asks why not?? She explains that times were different back then and his grandmother paid the consequences dearly. SHE the victim spent 18 years in jail. They called her "Mother Superior" not for a religious reason but because she took care of them all. H eis not up to forgiving Marta yet.
-Darío worries about Matías getting caught up in resentment like he did especially because he hasn't had A MOTHER by his side.
-Amanda is still ragging on how the whole Lorena mess could be solved by getting Alejandro's phone. Her father reminds her the judge ruled NO. She will NOT give up!

* Vilchis is feeling guilty first by sending an innocent woman to jail and now his blaming her for his beating. His sister tells him he had no other choice except death. She wants them to get out of the city as soon as possible and go to a place they cannot be found. He is concerned about her continuing her treatment. She assures him she can do that someplace else and adds that Alejandro is not going to stop wanting to prove Lorena's innocence.

*Nico visits Ismael to let him know that Arturo sought him out to find out how Ismael was getting along with his boss. He knows that Ismael's boss Nájera could be the next governing secretary. It irks Ignacio that Arturo is always so concerned about his relationship with Nájera so he can get some benefit from it. Nico says he told Arturo that Nájera had a lot of confidence in Ismael. Ismael says if Arturo calls him again, not to give him any details and to let him know.

-Darío wants a separation from Carmen. She insists the women changed him. She tries to involve Matías who informs them that he is only waiting for his 18th birthday so he can move out.
- The topic of the Medrano sisters that Ester defrauded comes up. The women would love to see Ester be prosecuted but they need to convince the sisters that they were victims of Ester, too. Montse volunteers to make the contact. The sisters' info was on the papers that Ester had them sign. Frida finds them.
They are all ready to jump into action when Marta wisely convinces them to forget about it.
-Alejandro tells Ismael the whole Vilchis story and how he ended up in the hospital . Alejandro tells him what Vilchis told him. Alejandro believes that Flo is behind it all since she was JP's lover and she made sure that Vilchis was beaten so he wouldn't talk. She killed JP. Ismael says not possible because she was with him. Alejandro still insists Flo is behind it all. Ismael still thinks Lorena is the murderer. Alejandro assures him he will be eating his words.

I especially appreciate your explaining Vilchis' convo with his sister and what Wormtongue Nico and Ismael discussed. Excellent.

I was so frustrated I couldn't figure out what the fugitivas were planning on doing with the papers Frida found. I guess Marta is right but won't the women come looking for the women once they realize they were duped? Or, will they be too humiliated and want to sweep it under the rug so to speak.

I wish Dario had been kinder to Marta when she needed him. She is unfailingly kind to forgive her son and put things behind them.

That said, "Darío worries about Matías getting caught up in resentment like he did especially because he hasn't had A MOTHER by his side". What a denouncement of Carmen! I thought Dario did ask Carmen for a separation but wasn't at all confident that is what I heard. Thank you for explaining that.

"Ismael still thinks Lorena is the murderer"; if he truly believes that, he's certainly not as bright as he thinks he is.

I wonder if Vilchis will be able to escape...

I learned Paula’s mom’s name and it’s in one of the recaps but I forgot to write it on my character list. Pepito is the little neighborhood boy who sells sweets or something. I think he gets them from Josefina because he’s asked her to make some. I wouldn’t put anything past Yardia. She was quite happy to sleep with Felipe whenever he fixed her tv. My phone keepschanging it to Tardía. And I’m still not sure which of them, Chimis or Felipe is the boss. Chimps gets changed to Chili’s. Maybe neither!

As Arturo told Florencia he'd "taken care" of the "problem" he is indeed behind Vilchis' beating. I hadn't considered Nico as a suspect in Juan Pablo's murder. He's sleazy and perhaps he isn't above murder although I don't think he's the one who did it.

The kids Vincente is working with are adorable, no wonder he's happier!
