Halimacandy, Dondi356, Susan, UA, Kat in SC: Who joins the likely growing Body Count next ? 🤔
Repeat of Fern walking in on Emilio and Elisa. She chews them both out, while talking alone with Elisa she says this will destroy Roberto, he adores you. With Emilio she blames his break with her on his feelings for Elisa. She tells Roberto about it and advises him to impregnate her.
Ana is hallucinating after taking the drugs walking in the apartment with a knife.
Alonso and Brenda are jabbering about something. Moni is mentioned. Not sure what this convo is about.
Mirna is also Tania's relationship advisor....
Roberto is taking Fern's advice and is romancing his wife. He isn't really a fan of having a baby with her, that will make it harder for her and Fern to be together. That's the carrot she is dangling in front of him to get him to do what she wants.
Fern is giving Emilio the cold shoulder in the office.
Claudia and her guy (the black PI/assassin for hire) are at a club with pole dancers. He tells her it's a good way to earn extra money.
Sebastian is telling Moni she needs "better" friends than Erika and Claudia. She needs to have friends of their social class. She is disappointed in him (me too).
Fern has a headache again. Alfredo is not happy. He threatens her if they separate she will be out on the street (or something like that).
Claudia tells her guy she could never dance like that. He says money is money..
Moni threatens to return to Cambridge. She is not comfortable with the debutante set.
Gabriel is trying to hire a guy( not sure if this is a new one or somebody we have seen before) to arrange an motor vehicle accident to his 2 brothers in law. The guy says it will cost a lot.
Fern and Alfredo continue to argue. She threatens to leave and she will go be a secretary for Brenda's dad....he doesn't like that idea. She complains for ten years she has worked for him without paying ( so that is why she can't pay for the PI's
I guess).
Emilio is with Ana. She tells him she feels like she is in a prison. She lost the 10 best years of her life. Everything is different, tv, cell phones, etc.
Marcelo and Tania are lovey dovey. She tells him Alonso looked for her, offered her a ring and matrimonio, she told him to go to the devil. He wants to confront him, but Tania hopefully has finally learned and gives him good advice. He is doing it to get attention and it is best to just ignore him.
Claudia and ? Are in his bedroom, it's at the strip club! Talk about " comprar un depa". My dictionary is drawing a blank. Too bad Dondi or Novelera aren't watching this. I bet they could help me. I'll go back to this scene tomorrow when the English CCs are up.
Marcelo is totally taking care of Tania. I sure hope she doesn't mess this up.
Ana is telling Emilio how she is imagining talking with her mother and then suffocating her with a pillow. And Fernanda was there and watched her do it. Emilio doesn't know what to think.
?guy is working on Claudia, after sex, to have a routine for the club. I guess he owns it or works for the owners. Next day she tells her sister's about it. Looks like she wants to earn some extra cash. Patty tells Claudia if she is going to sell her body it should be to someone rich and important ( Alfredo). Ah, ? Guy is Miguel. About time someone said his name.
Mirna and Fern are talking. She is blaming Elisa for enticing Emilio. Mirna sets her straight. He was into it too. Now Fern wonders if Emilio was just playing with her. Mirna suggests he likes Elisa. She tells Fern she needs to fix her marriage or she may find herself penniless.
Erika says their parents would turn in their graves if Claudia sold herself like that. Erika says they should study to better themselves. Patty says like you, the maid!
Erika and Claudia are leaving their house when Fernanda walks past them. She spins some yarn about a belt she gave Patty.
Gabriel tells his dad how much the accident will cost. 20,000. Dad says go for it. Best investment. Then we'll go for the old man next.
Moni and Elisa talk. Elisa says that both Moni and Sebastian have a point. She does need to learn to move in both worlds. Moni lines Elisa and Tania but can't stand Fern, and she knows the feeling is mutual.
Fern calls Mirna on the phone. She can't believe the Flores sisters live there. I'm not sure why Fern is in the neighborhood, is she going back to Manuela's house for some reason?
Miguel calls Fern demanding payment.
Alfredo tells Gabriel the story about Eugenio. At some point he came asking for money because his mother was gravely ill, but Alfredo sent him packing, and he assumed his mother died. ( This explains Eugenio's obsession with ruining Alfredo).
Mirna and Claudia are friends and I guess they live nearby. Claudia brings her some leftovers and lets slip that Fermin is concerned because his friend Francisco is back in Miami after being gone for 10 years. Light bulb moment.
Monday, pt. 1 of 3
Rehash of last week and the happy couple are still splitsville and we end with Yagmur ready to tell Devin something after Devin yelled at the guy with the kid in the backseat.
And what Yagmur has to tell Devin is that she loves her. Insert eye roll emoji.
The bad guy that I later find out is Serhat calls Ati and talks about Yagmur and asks if Ati knows her. He doesn’t but wants to know what’s up. Ati isn’t told but Ati will find her address for the bad guy whose name I don’t remember. Bad Guy hangs up and calls Ati an idiot. He isn’t wrong.
Ibo goes for a walk with Hulya. She admits he’s been happy (?) since Devin entered his life but she’s history so that’s that. Serhat! That’s the bad guy’s name. And Ibo knows that Yagmur was with him, like “with him” with him, and that Ceylan has been seen in his club as well.
Serhat meanwhile is having lunch with Aslan and chatting with him as though they are friends. Aslan doesn’t look impressed. Aslan tells him an offer is on the table but it doesn’t sound like it’s taken. Serhat seems to threaten him a bit, but Aslan gives his regards to Serhat’s father and bails. I missed details here.
Ceylan, the dummie, is with Ati chatting about Yagmur. He asks about Yagmur and where she lives, and Ceylan spills that she moved to her sister’s place after the wedding. Then she gets a text from The Mom who orders her home. Ati makes a call to get the address.
Aslan is now at work, working. He gets a call and is off with Turgot to see Nese.
Devin gets a call from Mahmud, who turns out to be a neighbor of her mother. Whatever his news, it’s not good and she’ll be there right away. “There” turns out to be her mom’s house, which is where Aslan and Turgot have just arrived. She tries to open the door but can’t so Aslan calmly kicks it open. Nese is on the couch, looking stoned out her mind. Aslan asks didn’t she hear them banging on the door. She says no and offers them a seat to watch tv. She hasn’t taken her meds and is in a bit of a haze. Aslan takes his leave. The neighbor talk to Aslan as he leaves and tells him that Nese is bipolar, but Devin comes out and demands to know why he called Aslan. Aslan tells her, I think, that she’s an idiot. They argue and they split up again. It’s over for reals this time. (Or is it?)
Celyan is getting a talking to from Hulya and is forbidden to se Yagmur ever again, but she isn’t really told why. Ceylan is ordered to her room, which she goes to but has a hissy fit on her way out. How old is this girl? She has to be at least 19/20, right? She’s behaving like a child.
Leyla asks what’s up and gives Hulya a talking to of her own. Leyla says she (Hulya) will not get in the way of the happiness of those two! And when Hulya responds, Leyla is overcome with a headache or something, but she is able to get the final say and leaves the room. This doesn’t look good for Leyla.
She goes to her room and gets sick. Tolga is there and asks about this. She tells him she has an appointment the next day and tells him she can go alone.
Monday, pt. 2 of 3
Cihan tries to get an appointment with Devin. He demands one right away and ends up with a 7pm appointment the next day.
Oh good. Aysel is pregnant. (Aysel is the red cape girl from an early episode currently living with or maybe just sleeping with Cihan).
Aslan and Ibo are talking business. And this is where I realize I need to figure out how to change the subtitles to English on recap days. There is a family, Koruzade (sp?), that they are talking about but Aslan says neither Aslan nor his family will loss any bit of their power as long as he’s on this planet. This would be foreshadowing if he weren’t the lead. Is this the family of Serhat? They seem to have a frenemies-type relationship. Or maybe just enemies who occasionally do business together.
Aslan, back at the office, gets a package in a red box. He opens it but we are interrupted by a call from his mother. She just wants to know if he’s coming for dinner but he’s busy. She asks about work but he tells her to butt out so she asks if he’s ok. He’s fine, super fine, and quit asking. (He’s not fine). We get a rehash of his time with Devin because the gift is a framed copy of the selfie they took when they first met, the one that his hand is covering half of. He sadly sets it up on his desk.
Background scene of Yagmur and Serhat when she was at his apartment in the before times (before this show’s start time). She bonked him on the head to get away from him and grabbed her phone and keys and escaped. Serhat has her current address, I assume from Ati. She’s there with Devin and Nese listening to Nese castigate Devin about the name, the relationship the divorce, etc. Nese is being a pain and finally kicks Devin out of her house, but not without giving her more grief before she goes. No wonder Devin became a shrink.
Devin gets a call from Leyla once she’s outside. Leyla wants to meet up and talk and send her the address. Yagmur wants Devin to drop her somewhere but Devin needs to go and tells her to get a taxi. Yagmur thinks she’d be better getting a ride from Devin, but Devin wants to know what Yagmur is afraid of. Yagmur still doesn’t tell and will get a taxi instead.
Ibo got some info about Ceylan and Yagmur. No details about Yagmur and Serhat’s relationship but Ibo’s guy found she’d been saying things about him behind his back and called him “castrado”. They laugh about this. Correct me if I got this convo wrong, but I'm pretty sure they were laughing about the castrado thing so obviously whoever this was about isn't a good friend or family.
Yagmur is walking and talking on the phone to Eko when Serhat shows up in front of her. Instead of telling Eko, she hangs up and runs but of course he catches up. He threatens her while she yells that she didn’t tell anyone anything! She falls and he grabs her by the hair but she finds a rock and hits him on the head, AGAIN, and then sprays him with something and runs away. Now he’s really mad but too hurt to go after her again.
Aslan is finally leaving work and leaves Eko in charge. His singer friend, Cansin, interrogates Eko about where he’s going, why isn’t he wearing his ring, but Eko doesn’t really give her info that I can tell. But she leaves and is probably up to no good.
Monday, pt. 3 of 3
Leyla and Devin are out for dinner and Leyla’s friend, Rena, comes by. They toast to Deniz. Leyla starts crying and Devin reaches out a hand and asks who he is. He was the love of Leyla’s life, the man she wasn’t allowed to be with. Leyla tells Devin that she’s brave but her enemy isn’t even Hulya, it’s herself and Devin should fight for the relationship with Devin. I kinda disagree here because Hulya definitely seems like an enemy to Devin. Leyla is still the best sibling in this family.
Yagmur goes to the club and sits down next to Eko who asks if she’s ok. She says no. He asks if it’s her mother, and she lies and says yes. He sits with her and doesn't bug her to talk more.
Devin and Leyla have been drinking. Devin talks about wanting more food amd laughing about it but Leyla thinks it’s time to call the chofer and go home. Devin walks around the table to give her a hug and thanks her for this. She takes her leave of Leyla.
At Aslan's place, Cansin shows up as we knew she would. Aslan invites her in.
Devin is on her way home, or is she?? Aslan goes to make a drink and tells Cansin to turn on music if she wants. She follows him into the kitchen, takes his hand and kissed him as we see Devin playing with her wedding band. Aslan stops Cansin (HA!) and tells her he’s married and very much in love. Cansin says ok and stops but she doesn’t look happy.
And of course Devin directs the cab to Aslan’s place but gets there as Cansin is leaving and doesn’t see her. But instead of a loving reunion, Devin yells at him about him wanting a divorce. They go back and forth. He tells her she needs to confront her feelings, she yells about him humiliating her in front of his family. He yells at her to stop yelling. He yells at her some more for a while, she yells back that he didn’t even call her for two whole weeks. She yells at him to stop yelling. He finally demands to know why she’s even there and she yells that it’s because she loves him. So of course they kiss and looks like they’re back together? The next family dinner should be good.
This show is throwing out some good vocabulary that I don’t usually see in shows. It seems current and not over-the-top mobster language? It’s a good one to take notes on (when not recapping).
K
K, good job. About the English CC, I have found that I can't get them until the next day, usually 12 or more hours after the episode. That is why I have decided I can't recap this one. I thought the pregnant girl was Devin or Yagmur. I get all 3 of them mixed up. Yagmur and Devin look like they could be sisters in real life.
I'm thinking Nese looks stoned because she is off her meds and is in one of the depressive swings.
Leyla's husband actually looked concerned for Leyla. I guess when your wife has never lived you and is probably less than receptive to sex, having affairs is almost a relief for the wife. It's almost like she has given him permission to cheat. I still wonder if Ceylan is the daughter of Leyla and Deniz, though if so I would imagine Leyla would be more concerned about her. I just think the 25 to 30 year age difference between Cihan and Ceylan is suspicious, though if Hulya had him young I guess it is possible.
Gracias, K. Riveting recap. Enjoyed your commentary. I'm with you, that while Leyla points out that Devin is her own enemy, Hulya is a huge non-stop one.
So thug Serhat is the rotten son of the big honcho Serhat that Aslan is dealing with on the casino.
Yagmur is quite the street fighter. You go girl! Rock 'em and mace 'em! But honestly it's way past time to confess to Devin and Eko.
I loved how smooth Aslan was rejecting Cansin, the idiot.
Thanks for the recap, K. Not easy to recap this dizi but you do it with flair.
I caught some edits and maybe a few clarifications.
Ibo and Hulya talked about the casino sales in Romania. Aslan is offering the online casino to the Koruzades. Hulya said that Aslan has been a little unstable since Devin came into his life. Ibo told Hulya that Yagmur was an escort and not only that, but she was an escort for Serhat Koruzade. And she was partying with Ceylan.
Edit: Cihan has a session with Devin. He wonders where she was for 2 weeks. She says she was sick but he’s not buying it. He warned her about not having a “parachute”. He asks, what did Aslan do? He said, “you will apologize to my family.” For a woman like you, if you were my wife…. Devin tells Cihan this is their last session. Wind starts blowing through the office. Papers fly everywhere. Devin’s hair is messed. Cihan sits bolt upright in his bed. This was all a dream.
BTW, that video conversation with Baba Ciga was in English in the original episode.
Edit: Devin has a session with a woman who is heartbroken over a failed relationship. It makes Devin think of her relationship with Aslan and we see flashbacks of the two. Devin wipes away a tear. The woman asks Devin, why can’t I live without him? That’s why we see Devin lying on the couch, hugging a pillow when she gets the call about Nese.
Devin overheard the convo between Mahmut and Aslan and found out that Aslan intervened in the house sale. She was ticked he lied to her about that.
Ibo is worried the Koruzades will try to squeeze him out of his smaller share of the business if Aslan sells his shares.
Kemal told Ibo that he spoke with Yagmur’s pimp in Izmir and he’s sending proof. Also, Yagmur had badmouthed Serhat and called him, “güdümsüz”, meaning unguided, out of control. I wondered why they translated this as castrado. There could be a slang meaning for güdümsüz, but I couldn’t find it. When Serhat caught Yagmur, he told her she shouldn’t have gossiped. In the Turkish he accused her of saying “he couldn’t manage it”, so he killed Irem. Maybe Serhat had an ED issue?
Devin wanted to eat kumpir, Turkish loaded baked potato and she wanted it with lots of ketchup.
Edit: Isko and Turgut evict drug dealers from Baba Ciga’s property. The thugs are playing soccer and Turgut shoots the ball. Lol. He was in a hurry to get home because his fave dizi, Kızılcık Şerbeti, was on soon. FYI, KS is a very popular dizi still airing in Turkey.
The song playing in the background and edited out while Devin and Aslan argue:
Ben Gene Sana Vurgunum/I’m Still in Love with You - Nükhet Duru
YouTube with English Translation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rpmWxk7E9Mw
Dondi, thanks for the edits. Turgut is one of my favorites. What a hoot he wants to get home to watch his show.
Kat in SC: Intriguing recap of last night's episode. Let's see: More STUPIDI!
*Gabriel plotting to exterminate the Ferrero's altogether. I wonder how Brenda will react to that ?
*Just as I predicted from the beginning: Claudia is a FUCKING BIG MOUTH: putting Francisco in serious danger. This is similar to Gardenia putting Eduardo Juarez in danger over in MEPS.
*Slick Alonso is going to find out about Marcelo & Tania.
*The del Pino family needs to GO DOWN & sooner or later.
*Eugenio still alive & well! You want to bet he's got more cronies & wealthy backers.
*The Flores girls ANNOYING! Crazy Whacky Goldie Locks: please do us a favpr & KILL THEM ALL.
K, thank you for the excellent, snappy recap of all the crazy.
Donde, thank you for the additional explanations and edits.
Yikes, there are so many damaged souls in this show . Aslan and his men seem more normal and grounded than most of the characters , including Devin 'S parents and sister.
Yagmur has quite a wild past . She is a pretty scrappy fighter and the kind of friend who would lead you into all kinds of crazy stuff.
Leyla seems damaged but kind and as normal as this family gets . susan
Many thanks, K., for this helpful recap. I'm still having trouble keeping people straight, especially Devin, Yagmur, and Aysel. I was comforted to see that Kat in SC has the same problem. Like Kat, I didn't recognize that the pregnant woman was Aysel. I thought it was Yagmur, though I wasn't sure when this would have happened.
I enjoyed your "Insert eye roll emoji" and "And Ibo knows that Yagmur was with him, like “with him” with him..."
Leyla's feeling dizzy troubled me, too. She's one of the most likeable characters in the dizi. It/we can't afford to lose her.
Add me to the list of people who were perplexed when Leyla told Devin that her enemy was herself. I too think Hulya seems like a considerably worse enemy.
I was sure that Devin would arrive just in time to see Cansin leave. Oops, glad to be wrong.
Who is Baba Siga??
Finally, thanks very much, dondi, for the edits and explanations. Both are VERY helpful.
Thanks, Dondi, for the additional details. It’s hard to catch everything even when I’m not trying to recap so any help is appreciated.
So there is Serhat Senior (casino guy) and Serhat Junior (thug guy who keeps getting hit in the head)? I a list of names, mostly taken from other recaps, but this senior-junior thing is going to make it harder.
I just looked up kumpir and now I want that too. When Dondi says “loaded potato”, that’s an understatement. The pic I’m looking at has sausage slices, olives, corn, pickles, seasoned bulgur or other grain, and something that looks like potato salad. On the potato. Also red cabbage, ketchup and mayo. Wonder if Hulya would ever allow this on The Table.
K
Thanks so much, K, for another wonderful, funny recap. Loved "eye-roll emoji" and "He isn't wrong" about Ati's mental capacities.
Regarding Serhat and Aslan's meeting, I thought Aslan wrote a dollar amount that it would cost the Koruzades to buy out Aslan's casino business. Someone here said online gambling, so probably that's it. Does that mean the physical casinos are still owned by the Soykans? Serhat Jr. scoffed, saying his father would never pay that.
I found it interesting that Ceylan doesn't dare disregard Mommy Dearest's order to return home. She's a small-scale rebel.
I am also worried about Leyla. That meeting between the two, complete with a couple of drinks, was just lovely. Sisters in law can be a very special addition to one's family.
I loved that Devin sent Aslan that framed selfie. I had the impression it had been there unopened, for some reason, and that she sent it before the big fight and breakup.
K, also loved "No wonder Devin became a shrink." Nese is a complete loser of a mother. It's sad she's bipolar, but she has zero capacity to stick up for her daughters.
Dondi, I thought the same thing about "castrado". Maybe a bad translation from the Turkish but hinted at his being unable to perform with the two women he hired for a threesome. It appears he killed the one who died out of frustration and can't bear Yagmur walking around knowing about the ED. Yep, Yagmur can definitely defend herself. I was worried sick Serhat was going to kill her.
And I also totally expected Devin to see Cansin leaving Aslan's apartment and think the worst. BTW, how did Devin know he was at the apartment and not at the family home?
Thank you for the great recap. I still get the characters confused, so I have a notebook where I add them, trying to fit them where they belong! It is getting very full with lots of arrows to connect people.
I like a wide variety of characters, from Turgut to Cihan to Yahmut. I hope these damaged souls can find their way out of this hell. They need Aslan’s strength, but he is also damaged. I loved the connection between Devin and Leyla at their dinner. I hope Leyla isn’t seriously ill.
Hulya is so awful that I wonder if we will get enough of a backstory to find some compassion for her. She seems irredeemable.
Anyway, just some thoughts. I’m still watching and do enjoy all the recaps and comments. We are so fortunate to have the wisdom from dondi to clarify Turkish things for us!
Babachita
I like Turgut, too. I sort of forget he’s supposed to be a bad guy. He also had to shut the car radio because he can’t concentrate on back parking while the music is playing.
Juanita, Baba Ciga was the man on the video call with Aslan. He was a good friend of Yusuf’s. They had each other’s back. Ciga said he’d help Aslan with the Romanians and in return Aslan would look out for Ciga’s Istanbul properties. That’s why Isko and Turgut got rid of those thugs in the edited scene.
IIRC, Serhat’s father is Ilyas Koruzade but we haven’t seen him yet. Everyone can add that to their list of names.
The casino stuff is a little confusing. I think Aslan’s casinos (on site gambling) might be in Romania. Not sure if Aslan has sold or is trying to sell to Romanians. IIRC no casinos in Turkey. There is a lottery and maybe some limited online betting. I’d have to research. Anyway, Ibo mentioned the online casino when speaking with Hulya. He really wants Aslan to keep that. And he really wants to keep it away from the Koruzades.
How long can Yagmur keep Serhat at bay?
I’m also worried about Leyla. Interesting if they give her a serious illness. The actor who plays Leyla, Canan Ergüder, was diagnosed with breast cancer a few years ago.
Dondi, thanks VERY much for responding to my question about Baba Ciga. I do recall the video call, but I was not at all sure who was on the call and what was being discussed. Your reply really helped!
Also, your mention that Serhat's father is Ilyas Koruzade makes me think that perhaps I am correct in thinking that Aslan met with Serhat and discussed selling the casinos to him AND that the same Serhat is the thug that has been threatening Yagmur? Serhat looked somewhat different in the scene with Aslan than he did in the scenes with Yagmur, but I really thought they had to be the same person, that there's not a Serhat Jr. and Serhat Sr. Your saying that Serhat's father's name is Ilyas and that we haven't met him yet makes me think perhaps I'm right.
#15 – Part 1 of 2
This will probably be shorter. I also have an entire Warriors basketball game awaiting me on my DVR.
I have to say, watching the rewind from last night, Cansin’s cheekbones bother me. They look like implants.
Oh my! These writers just set us up again. Everything begins so sweetly. We see the shouting match again, followed by Devin saying she’s like this because she loves him.
Yagmur and Eko are somewhere (?) and she sees the framed selfie with Aslan’s finger partially covering his face. Yagmur wants Eko’s assurance that, whatever she might do, he’d be with her. She tells him how much she loves him. He swears he’ll always be there and how much he loves her.
Disgusting Ibo is very pleased with himself and calls Hulya to say he’ll have the proof tomorrow. Hulya tells one of the servants to take away Devin’s chair and smiles in triumph.
Devin gets up and then moans with pleasure at one of those extravagant Turkish breakfasts. Aslan’s prepared it and has included that stuffed baked potato she spoke with Leyla about the night before. They’re very happy. But, of course, Aslan gets a call that his guys are at the front door. On his way out she reminds him to wear his wedding ring!
Leyla’s diagnosis is bad. The nice doctor who befriended her before approaches. She has a malformación arterior venosa. Leyla tells the woman it’s terminal. It seems to me that it’s in her brain and very deep. They’ll try a drug treatment. (chemo?) Leyla starts to cry, castigating herself for always being obedient. The doctor promises to be by her side for the treatment.
The guys had come to take Aslan to meet with Serhat. Aslan notices the wound (from Yagmur’s rock) and laughs. He sits down and uses the animal metaphor again. “There’s an elephant… (Baba Ciga) who made a very nice offer.” Aslan gives Serhat another card with a number on it and kind of jokes, saying it might be the population of China. Serhat is scared that Aslan may have already sold for that amount. Aslan tells him to call his father. He gets up to leave, saying he’ll give him 10 minutes. Then he says something about Serhat getting his prostate checked. Something about getting up in the night to pee is a bad sign. [How does Aslan know about this and its impact?]
Ten minutes pass. Aslan is calm. Eko, Turgot, and the other guy whose name I forgot are very nervous. Aslan doesn’t pick up the call from Serhat. A minute or so passes and the call comes in from Ilya, Serhat’s father. Sold! Aslan tells the guys the bears were afraid to get into bed with the elephant.
We get two scenes sort of back-to-back with Aslan speaking with Eko and Devin with Yagmur. The kids have their blessings.
Aslan has offered Yagmur an audition to sing at his club Volta, and she’s over the moon.
Kemal gives Ibo the papers and a video that prove Yagmur was working as an escort. He calls Hulya and asks her to come to his yacht.
Seher has a major meltdown. She’s taking a scissors to some of her clothes. She threatens Leyla with the scissors, and Leyla calls Aslan.
#15 – Part 2 of 2
Yagmur is showing Devin her options to wear to the club. Aslan calls and asks Devin for her help with Seher.
Cihan is upset that Devin had to cancel an appointment with him (to go help with his grandmother, although he doesn’t know that). As he leaves, we see Aysel smirking at the pregnancy test, sure she’s hit the jackpot.
I have to restrain myself from throwing my shoe through the TV while Hulya watches a video of a gaunt Yagmur arranging to meet with a “client” provided he brings powder.
Cihan keeps calling Devin over and over on the phone with the fake name he uses for therapy. Then he calls someone to get her address. [This is looking very unhealthy to me.]
Seher says she wants to go to her house. She doesn’t realize that’s where she is, and she’s hysterical.
Devin goes in and speaks to her calmly. Then she picks up a scrapbook and sits down on a small sofa. Seher eventually is curious and sits down. She puts down the scissors and is drawn in. Devin palms them and shows Seher family pictures. Hulya has arrived and is furious seeing Devin there. Aslan shushes her. Devin points to a smiling, happy baby and says it’s Aslan. “What happened to him as he aged?” She cracks up Leyla, Ceylan, and Tolga.
Aslan says that Ceylan is coming with him to Volta so she can watch Yagmur sing. Hulya is indignant, and calls Aslan away to see the evidence.
Sigh. Yagmur leaves for Volta in her jeans. I assume she has the dress to change into. Serhat is waiting. This time she doesn’t get away and he beats her terribly. Then a car approaches, blinding Serhat.
Devin has followed Aslan. Hulya asks if she knew that her sister was an escort. Aslan tells her to be quiet. Devin looks terrible.
Cihan keeps calling, and Devin won’t pick up. Then he uses another phone, and she picks up. He tells her that her sister was attacked. And he’s taking her to the hospital. Aslan arrives with Devin. Devin sees her sister with blood on her and starts yelling and crying. Over the phone Cihan says he couldn’t see who the attacker was.
But we see that The Spider is somehow there and insists that Cihan get rid of the nearby security cameras. Hulya says it’s the son of their business partner. [The way she talks to him, the way she glares at him. How can a mother be that way?]
Eko arrives and freaks out. He wants to go into the room to be with Yagmur. He says they have to find the attacker. Aslan gives Eko his word he’ll find him.
A week later Devin is worried about Eko, who isn’t sleeping. Aslan gets a text about a meeting at 2 PM to sign the papers (presumably the sale of the online gambling business). Serhat’s flunky tells him that “Hande” hasn’t been at home. And, if she’d died, they’d have heard. Serhat seems indifferent.
Aslan tells Devin she should talk with Yagmur and let her know that her sister knows her secret. Devin wants the police involved. And she’s afraid Aslan will go and shoot the guy in the head. Aslan tells her how attacks against women like that work. He’d be out in no time. Yagmur comes in and is back to her angry self. She tells Devin that she (Devin) disappeared for 10 years
Aslan gets a call. Cihan’s people missed a camera to destroy or take the footage from. Aslan knows who attacked Yagmur. He grimaces.
Good job Novelera. I was going to watch this again today with English CC because some of the dialogue was beyond me. Now I don't have to. The one thing I might add is that the car that pulled up while Yagmur was being beat to a pulp was Cihan. Was it Cihan that removed the security footage or Serhat's people. These names are so confusing. Why is Cihan in Serhat's control?
Novelera, thank you for that great review as things get darker and darker. Yikes . The violence and screaming matches and dysfunction are getting to be too much for me. I haven't watched his episode yet, so now I have been warned . uff Susan
Thanks VERY much, novelera, for this fine recap of what was for me a rather puzzling episode. In particular, I couldn't follow the events concerning Yagmur's brutal beating by Serhat. Another car drives up as Serhat is either still beating or has just finished beating Yagmur. The headlights of the car seem to blind Serhat--he tries to block the light with his hands, but his face is clearly visible to us and surely to the driver of the car. That scene is followed by others, including several of Cihan driving and trying to call Devin. He asks someone to get him Devin's home address. At no time does he seem flustered or shocked or upset. But when, after a while, he uses a different phone and Devin answers, he tells her that Yagmur has been beaten, he didn't see who did it, and he's taking her to the hospital. None of this makes much sense to me. Surely if he came upon Serhat beating or just having finished beating Yagmur, Cihan would not be so calm as he took her, badly beaten, to the hospital. He probably also would know Serhat and would have recognized him.
As if that's not puzzling enough, we then see Cihan drop a wad of money to a taxi driver, who drives off. Cihan then sees Hulya standing on the pavement, seeming to be waiting for him. Huh? Where are they? Why (and where) did Cihan just get out of a taxi, seemingly in the middle of nowhere, and find his mother standing there staring at him. And where do we see someone (Hulya??) tell Cihan to get rid of the nearby security cameras?
I noticed one other thing about Yagmur's beating that seemed strange to me. "Una semana después," we see Yagmur--whom we saw being savagely beaten, especially around the head and ribs (according to the doctor at the hospital). There was next to no sign of bruises on her head, and she seemed to move about painlessly. Huh??
I'm focusing only on this aspect of the episode in part because it was the one that I found most confusing. I realize that I'm often pretty tired by 10PM, so I may simply have missed things that would have clarified this for me.
Gracias, Novelera. Hulya is indeed the Spider, transporting everywhere in a flash.
I'm ticked that Yagmur tried to lay a guilt trip on Devin, for being away 10 years. I'm sure there were chats and visits over those 10 years.
Why Cihan is doing his mama's bidding is a mystery to me. It's mama he should focus on in his therapy, not Aslan.
Thanks for recaps.............

hi Juanita, I can't watch the Telemundo version but I'll tell you what I remember from the one I saw,
Serhat probably would have killed Yagmur but Cihan was in the neighborhood looking for his shrink and scared him off. He scooped up Yagmur heading for the hospital and when Devin wouldn't answer his call he grabbed Yagmur's phone and got through. On a narrow street he was blocked by a taxi and they didn't show it but I think he had the taxi finish taking Yagmur to the hospital so he wouldn't get caught up in that. We later see him paying off the Taxi driver. Then Hulya walks up, he must have filled her in, she has him go back and erase any surveillance videos. (I found Cihan quite an interesting character, I think they talk along the way about her always reeling him in to do her dirty work, ah but, she later accuses him of leaving that one camera that Aslan gets to see and he doesn't deny it.)
Thanks, novelera. I see the Warriors won last night.
Juanita, Telemundo strikes again! There were edits to Cihan bringing Yagmur to the hospital. I checked back to the original.
First, Cihan was ticked that Devin canceled his appointment. He tried calling her and then he wanted her address. He was going to find her. That’s when he came upon Serhat and Yagmur. I believe he knew it was Serhat. I don’t know if Serhat ran off. They didn’t show any confrontation or conversation between the men.
I wouldn’t expect Cihan to be outwardly upset in finding Yagmur. He doesn’t have an emotional connection to Yagmur. And I think he’s probably inured to this sort of stuff. Remember, his father killed a man in front of him when he was 7. He kept trying to call Devin and when she didn’t answer, he grabbed Yagmur’s phone and called her. There was some urgency to his voice when he spoke with Devin.
Edit: on his way to the hospital, Cihan almost collides with a taxista. The taxista is ticked off but Cihan looks like he’s formulating something. There’s a cut to outside the ER entrance and Hulya is questioning the taxista. H: did you find the girl? T: (hesitantly) Yes, sister. H: Thank you, God bless you. Where did you find her?
The taxista begins to stutter, and questioning is interrupted by a phone call to the taxista. It looks like Hulya suspects something is wrong. We only hear the taxista’s side of the convo—no they didn’t. Next, we see Devin crying in the ladies’ room and she dials Cihan. Cihan drops the wad of money into the cab and tells the taxista to disappear.
We saw this: Then Cihan talks to Devin and tells her he brought Yagmur to the hospital but didn’t see who did it. Then we see Hulya standing there. Guessing she overheard that Cihan was the one who found and brought Yagmur.
He must have filled Hulya in on the details. We don’t see that. Hulya tells him that Aslan can’t find out Serhat did this. And she tells him to erase the security camera footage. I love that Cihan said, so what there will be one less scoundrel in the world. But Hulya is adamant. The Koruzades are partners and she doesn’t want a war with Ilyas.
Oops. Hi deb! Good to see you again. I didnt see your post before I posted mine.
I think you are right that Cihan wanted to remove himself from what happened. But he called Devin to inform her so I don't know how he thought he would get away with that.
I agree that Cihan is a very interesting character. I like the actor very much.
deb, are you currently watching any dizis?
Thanks all for the terrific comments. Deb, we miss you.
I intuited that Cihan was the driver of the car shining headlights onto despicable Serhat but probably didn't put that in the recap. I was focused on getting to the basketball game, an especially meaningful one as the return of Klay Thompson with the Mavericks, after 13 years with the Warriors. The game did not disappoint!
And thanks again, dondi, for filling in the Telemundo blanks. I suppose last night wasn't as egregious as their cutting much of Cihan's scenes Monday night but still... Your including Hulya questioning the taxista explains how she ended up on that street ordering Cihan to keep quiet about Serhat. But I still wonder how she knew to show up at the ER. I'm wondering if this will be another dizi where we get a confusing scene and then the blanks are filled in later with flashbacks. Can't remember which one had a lot of those, but I remember Viewerville noticing it.
Juanita, Yagmur's mostly OK appearance after one week is another example of Telemundo/Dizi medicine at its finest.
Thanks VERY much, deb and dondi, for filling in key parts that Telemundo once again cut out. I was assuming that the dizi was poorly done and/or I didn't pay adequate attention. I'm relieved to know that neither of these assumptions turned out to be true, at least not this time! I'm thinking of buying a dart board and putting "Telemundo" in the center.
And yes, novelera, thanks for reminding me about the miracles of Telemundo/dizi medicine. Here's hoping it will cure Leyla's incurable condition!
hi all, great recap novelera!
I've enjoyed my vacation from Telemundo but I thought I'd join in for Conde, Telemundo was a subchannel of another company and it was gone, poof!
hi Dondi, you do this so well but I wasn't sure if you were around today. I'm afraid of dropping spoilers.
I watched "Ayazin Sonu Gunes", nothing good here, but I made a note to check out "Kizilcik Serbeti".
I've been following this one along so I can read everyone's wonderful posts, so many little details and you don't usually get the whole story till later, really good production, (I don't see how they can cut anything), it's actually kind of neat watching it again.
Thank you all for the details. I missed that Hulya was told Cihan to erase the videos so was wondering what she was doing there. I look forward to her downfall.
And finally meeting the missing sister that no one has mentioned in a while. Maybe she'll be back to help out Leyla?
And still no word of the dog.
K
Yes, the miracles of Telemundo/Dizi medicine. Arteriovenous malformations are serious, but they are not necessarily terminal. There are treatments available. I knew a person who had this. He had some mild symptoms and was diagnosed. He was cured by surgery.
I’ll probably watch Kızılcık Şerbeti in the future. Right now, I’m watching Yalı Çapkını, KS’s rival on Friday nights. In April 2023, RTÜK issued a 5-week suspension against the KS citing oppression and violence against women. The suspension was lifted after 2 weeks.
I finished the first season of Kızıl Goncalar. Different than the typical dizi. Members of a strict religious sect interacting with a secular family. It was hard to find a good English translation for it, though.
Kat in SC: The situation with my remote is still the same: It's likely going to get replaced, so I have to watch some of the highlights on Telemundo English's YouTube Channel.
On Claudia: That DUMBASS is heading for a huge wake-up call: after she puts more people in DEADLY DANGER.
Kat in SC: Check my response below.
Kat in SC: I will do my best on watching some of the episodes on YouTube. I will also check Telemundo's official website as well.
Fern let's Emilio know (after their bed session) about Tania slitting her wrists. He in turn calls Marcelo who doesn't care (the sex video Alonso showed him of Tania killed his love). He also tells Marcelo that Francisco is known to be in Miami, a conversation was overheard between the Claudia and Erika. Of course, Fern actually heard it from Mirna, but this story works. Marcelo says I told you so....Erika should never have learned the truth.
Fern returns home from her 'visit to see Tania', whom she was unable to see because visiting hours were over. I think Alfredo wants some loving. Fern lists al the things she hates about him but ends with despite all your faults, I love you.
Frank is chewing Fermin out for letting Erika know the truth. Fermin in turn yells at Erika.
Elisa wants Tania to swear she won't try to hurt herself again and to get back into there and stay away from Alonso. Tania assures her she wants nothing to do with him, it's not her desire to be a porn star on the internet thanks to Alonso.
Fern tells Alonso to quit messing with Tania, his assignment is to get Moni into bed. Looks like Fern is offering herself up to him to if he succeeds.
I'll add more later. Kiddos home from school.
Thanks for recapps!

#16.
Aslan doesn’t let Eko come with as he leaves to find out who attacked Yagmur.
Hulya calls Aslan, who tells her that Isok (sp?) has the evidence about the attacker.
Devin follows Aslan’s car to a meeting. He snarks that he’ll teach her to follow cars discreetly.
Ibo and Hulya conspire about getting Serhat out of the country.
We find out Tolga’s calls and secrets. He is the submissive in BDSM, and his dom threatens to expose him unless he pays. Tolga asks Leyla for $, interrupting her as she’s about to tell him she’s ill.
Aslan and Devin see the video of Serhat leaving the site where he beat Yagmur.
Hulya comes to castigate Cihan. It seems she thinks he deliberately left one camera with the image.
Aslan and Devin have another screaming match about the appropriate punishment for Serhat.
Yagmur continues to be traumatized, both with her sister and Eko.
Isok and Turgut appear to be preparing some “cement shoes” (a method of weighing down a body used by the old time Mafia), while Aslan looks on
Ibo tries to convince Serhat to leave the country.
Ati is cooking up a big scoop for his viewers about Yagmur’s being an escort. This actor has evil glee down to a science.
Aslan sets up the meeting to sign the inline betting agreement with Serhat at a seafood restaurant.
Serhat pleases me once. He strongarms Ati into not publishing his big scoop about Yagmur.
There’s a wonderful scene at the restaurant with Serhat and Aslan where Aslan subtly scares the crap out of Serhat. It ends with Aslan putting a gun on the table and the four henchies (2 for Aslan, 2 for Serhat) draw their guns.
Gracias, Novelera. A lot of moving parts last night. Yep, Ati did something good. I'm wondering though, since the escort story was already typeset and ready to go, if the story gets out anyway.
Since Leyla and Tolga don't have a real marriage anyway, it's too bad he didn't confess why he needs a loan. Sad that he interrupted her as she was about to tell him of her illness.
Glad to see Yagmur is willing to testify against Serhat.
Thanks very much, novelera, for coming to the rescue with these highlights.
I like to think of myself as moderately up on things, but I confess that I completely missed the fact that Tolga was into BDSM and his dom is blackmailing him. One or two shots of Tolga last night now make more sense to me.
Because of the scene of Isok and Turgot making "cement shoes," I assumed that Aslan changed the site of the meeting with Serhat to a seafood restaurant so that Serhat would be near the water. But as far as I know, nothing more was made of the "shoes."
I'm still not sure what I think of this dizi. I'm planning to continue watching, but I doubt I'd want to see another from the same writer(s).
Again, many thanks, novelera.
Thanks so much, novelera, but I just finished the show and a recap. I'm going to proof it now. I hope you don't mind if I post it to fill out some more details. I see we both mentioned the "cement shoes" lol
Isko tells Aslan they’ve ID’d Yagmur’s attacker, come to the office. Aslan doesn’t share this with Eko or Hulya.
Cihan calls Devin to check on Yagmur. She thanks him for saving her sister.
We see that Devin is following Aslan.
Edit: Ibo is having breakfast at the estate. Tolga gets a text from a woman he’s been avoiding. He better answer or else. Ibo asks him about the text and Tolga lies and says it’s about arrangements for Kaya’s circumcision. Ceylan complains that Hulya has assigned a guard to watch her. She’s forbidden from seeing Yagmur.
Hulya and Ibo take Seher for a walk around the grounds. Hulya tells Ibo that Serhat attacked Yagmur. Ibo realizes if Aslan kills Serhat, Ilyas will kill Aslan. She asks Ibo to speak with Serhat and tell him Yagmur is Aslan’s SIL and convince him to go abroad for a while. Ibo thinks this approach won’t work. They won’t be able to resolve this without Ilyas’ help.
Hulya tells Ibo to convince Serhat and she will find a way to allow Serhat to travel. Ibo is surprised that she’s going to ask Cihan for help.
Tolga needs money to pay a blackmailer. He asks Ibo for a loan. Ibo doesn’t loan money, but he’ll pay a quid pro quo. He wants Tolga spy on Alsan. We see some flashbacks to remind us that Tolga is betraying the Soykans. Tolga is too scared to take Ibo up on the offer. Ibo suggests he speak with his wife about getting the money.
Devin demands to see the footage of the attacker. It’s Serhat. She asks Aslan, do you know him?
Hulya pays a visit to Cihan. Aysel is there (I think she was going to drop the pregnancy bomb on him) and Hulya won’t enter if that “prostitute” is there. Hulya orders her to leave. Aysel goes.
Isko fills in the story for Aslan. Irem spread the word that Serhat was impotent. Days later, Irem was found dead of an overdose in a residence owned by Serhat. The case was closed. But Yagmur said that Serhat was responsible. He lost track of Yagmur but found her in Istanbul and this happened.
Aslan asks Devin, do you think people like him deserve to live? She doesn’t know but asks him, do you decide who lives and dies? They argue about this. She wants to call the cops. He wants her to stay out of his business. She’s livid. This is about her sister.
Hulya accuses Cihan of deliberately keeping some of the footage so Aslan would find it. It seems like Cihan thinks like Aslan, that Serhat should pay. He knows it would mean an eye for an eye. He calls out Hulya on wanting to protect her “only son”. He tells her not to worry, her other son might be killed instead.
Hulya asks Cihan if he’s still being treated by Devin. She threatens to tell Aslan if Cihan doesn’t comply with her wishes to take Serhat abroad.
Devin and Aslan continue to argue. She is furious. She insists on reporting this to the cops and having Yagmur testify. He asks for a little time, and he will give her the footage. They should discuss this more when she’s calmer. She storms out.
What will we do, Isko asks. We will do what we should, Aslan replies.
Eko enters the kitchen and Yagmur is opening jars and bottles, sniffing at the contents. He starts talking about the incident. Do you know who hurt you? She’s not paying attention to him and continues to search for whatever it is. He asks, was it a drug dealer? An ex-lover?
Eko finally grabs her. Stop! I need to know! What are you looking for. Tea, she says, I’m looking for tea. She tells him about the tea she bought for him. He’s asking questions about the attack, but all she can think about is they didn’t get to have that tea.
Yagmur walks away from Eko. Devin comes home and tells Eko to stay calm. She’s here now. He leaves.
Tolga comes to talk with Leyla. But there’s something she wants to tell him first. Her test results came back. He interrupts her and asks for a loan. [How callous.] He doesn’t want to take money from the company or tell Hulya. He swears it’s just a loan and he will pay it back.
Leyla looks like she might get sick but then she smiles and says she’ll give him the money. He’s relieved. Then he decides to ask about her tests. Was it something bad? She lies and says no. She met a nurse at the hospital who would be good as the new caretaker for Seher.
Looks like Turgut and Isko are down by the waterfront making cement shoes for someone. Aslan is there. He thinks Turgut is nervous. Turgut is just wondering if this is a good idea. The father (Serhat’s) is a partner who they’ve known for years. He’s agreed to give them money. It feels wrong. Aslan replies, say that to Eko.
Aslan asks Isko if he’s taken care of the press. He’s keeping an eye on things.
Ibo meets with Serhat. Serhat asks, how was I supposed to know the escort (Yagmur) was related to Aslan? Ibo says that’s not an excuse. He adds, fear is a good thing. It keeps us alive. [it’s worked well for Ibo.] You seem very calm, Serhat. That won’t help you.
Ibo brings up Aslan and says it would be good if Serhat disappeared for a while. Serhat says with all due respect, don’t push it. This was just a misunderstanding. He’s not going anywhere.
Ibo brings up Ati. Wasn’t he the one who dragged you into this mess? He didn’t tell you who Yagmur is because he hates Aslan. This might be his next headline. We both know this isn’t your first incident. Your father will find out. Serhat blows up—don’t talk about my father! And he won’t leave. Ibo goes.
Ibo informs Hulya that Serhat is staying. She tells her driver to take her to Aslan’s house.
Ati calls Ceylan. He heard the bad news about Yagmur and hopes she’s okay. He fishes for info on the attack. Do you know anything? Has the guy been found? My brother is still looking, she replies. He invites her to his house. Things are tense, some other time, she answers. She hopes he hasn’t told anyone about what they are talking about. [I assume she means Yagmur]
Ati calls an employee (?) He’s got a great headline for tomorrow. It’s about the Soykans, but he can’t name the source. That’s the only condition. I’ll send it in 30 minutes. Aslan dictates the story to a worker: Aslan’s SIL, a sex worker, was beaten. The employee looks stunned.
A henchie tells Serhat that Aslan changed the location of their meeting. Serhat says let’s take another man with us.
Hulya and Aslan arrive at the same time. She starts by saying her heart goes out to Yagmur. Aslan sees right through it. You’re here so I won’t kill Serhat, right? You won’t hurt Serhat, she replies. Devin steps up and says, don’t worry, he won’t. I’ll make sure that man rots in prison.
Hulya’s not happy with that either. What prison? Do you know the situation you’ve put our family in? What situation, Devin asks. Aslan stops the conversation that would likely turn into a shouting match.
Serhat calls Aslan to asks about the location change. Aslan says it’s because it’s private and it will be more comfortable. And the fish is good, have you tried it? Once you do, you won’t be able to eat fish anywhere else. [He might be swimming with them instead.] Serhat agrees and tentatively asks, everything will be resolved, right?
Eko eavesdrops this next part. Aslan says it will be resolved. Before we sign the contract, we’ll go over everything and let the chips fall where they may. Serhat looks worried. See you tomorrow, Aslan says, we’ll handle everything, Serhat.
Eko comes from his hiding spot and asks Aslan, what are we doing tomorrow? We’re not doing anything, Aslan replies, have you seen yourself lately? You look like a ghost. Get some rest. Eko senses something is up.
Ati holds a staff meeting. He’s got Yagmur’s story on his laptop. He pretends to be disgusted. Is this a joke, he asks. Get that off my screen. What else is there?
Meeting is interrupted when Serhat barges in. You can practically see the smoke coming out of his ears. Ati dismisses his staff. Serhat grabs Ati by the lapels and pushes him against the wall. He growls, you knew that slut was related to the Soykans! Ati denies it. Serhat threatens, if my father finds out about this, if this makes headlines, you’ll have to deal with me. You’ll be the headline in your own paper. Serhat leaves.
Devin tells Yagmur she knows about Irem. Yagmur replies, he killed her. Devin says that’s why she needs to testify. Tell the police. Justice will be done. I’ll be there for you. Yagmur asks, when did you find out? I found out about Serhat earlier today, Devin answers, and I learned about everything else on the night you were beaten.
Yagmur asks, about being an escort? Devin lowers her head. She can’t answer. Yagmur asks, does Aslan know? Devin nods. What about Ekrem? Devin shakes her head no. Yagmur decides to testify.
Devin wants to talk. Yagmur gets upset. Nobody will get in trouble because of me, she says, I will tell everything I know. There’s nothing to talk about. I don’t know what to say to someone who won’t even look at me!
The meeting takes place at this shack of a restaurant by the water. Aslan is already chowing down when Serhat arrives. Aslan takes his gun out of his waistband and puts it on the table. The henchies get up from their chairs. Aslan and Serhat tell their guys to sit.
We see Tolga is being blackmailed as the sub in an BDSM affair.
Cemre has been hired as the caretaker for Seher. Seher likes her. [We already suspect Leyla likes Cemre but in a different way. I wonder where they are going with this?] Leyla introduces Cemre to Tolga.
Serhat is served his fish dinner. I don’t think he’s hungry. Aslan starts, I heard a bastard… beat my SIL Yagmur. But that’s not my problem. This is about my wife. When you suddenly marry, a couple’s views don’t always align. I realized we disagree on some things.
Aslan continues, she can’t even kill a fly. She doesn’t like fishing. She’s against me going fishing. She says they suffer. Says I’m torturing them. But when you put a cooked fish in front of her, she doesn’t think twice about squeezing the lemon on it.
Aslan demonstrates. Serhat gulps. Aslan adds, people are strange, aren’t they, Serhat? They don’t like to see the dirty work done, but they don’t mind the benefits of said work. She’ll get used to it. Aslan gives Serhat an icy blue stare to drive the point home.
Serhat says he’s never given that any thought. Please… the issue with your SIL… Aslan disregards this. You’ve yet to meet Devin, he says. Serhat wants to stay on topic. Aslan gives him the icy blue stare again. What’s more important than family, Serhat? Power, work… it can all be resolved. Family doesn’t fit there. I have a problem with my wife.
You’re right, Serhat replies, family comes first. Aslan gives an example—babies fall when they’re learning to walk. What do you do? You hold them up. It’s automatic. But you shouldn’t. It’s a mistake. Let the child fall. They’ll learn from falling. No one can learn to walk without getting hurt. Have I made myself clear?
Serhat nods. Ah the other thing, Aslan remembers, I was with my wife and mother. We were talking about my SIL. What was done to her. She was beaten by an animal. We were worried about her. On one hand, my mother pressured me, on the other Devin. We see the flashback. Hulya doesn’t want Aslan to take action against Serhat. Devin shouts back, he will pay for what he did. Yagmur will testify!
Aslan says that Devin thinks she will get justice. What did you say, Serhat asks. Aslan pauses to eat some more. What did I say? I asked her if she believes people like that deserve to live.
Aslan puts his hand on his gun. The henchies stand and draw theirs. Serhat is quietly panicking.
And we are out.
Juanita, I think the cement shoes could come into play in the next episode. If Aslan kills Serhat, they will have to dispose of the body. Wonder what will happen to the henchies?
I thought this episode was well written. Especially the scene at the fish restaurant. Kıvo did well.
Fermin and Frank/Emilio continue to talk. Fermin wonders if Frank is in love with Fern. He's in love with the sex ..not the woman.
Moni and Sebastian argue about Fern. I think he has suggested they get their own place but possibly she refused. Trouble in paradise for the prince and the pauper....
Ana and Frank...I think she is claiming she was robbed while out shopping and needs more money. She is giddy and appears high to my untrained eye. Frank looks skeptical.
Brenda is out to dinner with Gabriel and Alfredo when her parents show up at the country club. Her dad mentions Eugenio. He is expecting him to come for a visit soon after he recovers from bad health. I'm a bit lost in this conversation and no English subtitles are on offer. The two dads trade insults. Brenda follows her folks to their table and asks why he is inventing stories. Dad claims he has spoken with Eugenio. Gabriel and Alfredo talk. The investigator report should be in tomorrow.
Emilio accuses Ana of using drugs. She laughs at him. She laughs at everything. He calls the guy whose name I keep forgetting, the one who rescued Ana, concerned about her. More stuff discussed that I didn't totally follow. I think he feels Ana should be returned to her family for her recovery but only Elisa cares about her.
Brenda is still with her parents when Adelberto(so confusing having the 2 fathers with similar names) gets a call. His son's are in critical condition in the hospital.
Gabriel arrives home and runs into Fern and tells her that his brothers in law died. Fern has his number....
Frank delivers groceries to Ana. I imagine he is cutting her off on having cash. She isn't giggling anymore. He wants her to get help at a clinic again but she refuses.
Moni comforts Brenda on her loss. Brenda says her mother is a wreck. Brenda thinks she should move back home for a bit to help her.
Fern has a new game. She suggests to Alfred6 he should put all his assets in her name so if Eugenio returns he can't get the company. Alfredo laughs....
Alonso loves to taunt Gabriel about his ed....I bet that is the main reason he is impotent.
Frank asks Ana if she wants to return home.
Alonso visits Tania in the hospital. He is his obnoxious self. She hates him and hopes he goes to hell.
Mirna and Fern meet. Mirna wants no part of whatever plans Fern is concocting. I think Fern tells her her hands are dirty too and she better not turn on her. It sounds like Mirna killed 2 people 2 and Fern knows it.
Gabriel learns from the pi that Eugenio is dead and celebrates with his dad.
More with Mirna and Fern. I think maybe Mirna was the one that set the fire that killed Fern's parents.
More with Ana and Frank. She does not want to go home. I think she still isn't sure if perhaps she did kill her mother while in her drugged state.
Patty tells Alfredo sex is not part of her job description. He claims it's mutually satisfying. She looks pretty miserable, though personally I think she asked for it.
Tania threatens Alfonso with reporting him to the polices, especially if he releases the video on social media. Of course he laughs in her face. She sounds the call bell and yells for help so he leaves.
Alfredo threatens Patty with losing her job, she in turn threatens sexual harassment. He kisses her and she reciprocates. Fern walks in and witnesses it. Ooh she now has ammunition for divorce and money I bet.
And now it's next episode time....
