FUGITIVAS #56 Part 1

An annoyed Arturo interrupts Lisset’s “cleaning,” chasing her out of his office. We gleefully note though that’s it’s too late; Lisset already installed the camera! Lisset calls Sofia and tells her the camera is good to go. Sofia is on her computer and seeing the camera, tells Lisset she did a perfect job.

Sofia watches closely as Arturo opens the safe. Now, she has the combination! Lisset greets the news with a smile. Sofia watches and notes what he is harboring in the safe and calls Alejandro.

Vincente talks to his unnamed boss about Lucre, (Teo’s mother’s) situation.

Marta has been summoned to Ismael’s office. He points to his “wall of fugitvas” and asks that she work with him to try and locate them. I believe he tells her he will protect her identity. This is a very short-lived conversation. The issue is not open for discussion, as Marta immediately stands. The answer is a polite but firm nopis. (Ismael looks a bit surprised but whyever would she agree to help the police? She served her sentence and is a free woman).

As she leaves his office, Marta runs into Amanda. I can’t translate exactly what was said but Amanda tucked her fangs in and Marta was quite cool and collected; she did talk a bit about being in prison. Amanda looks like she is thinking it over as Marta leaves.

Dario and Matias talk about the fugitivas, specifically Frida.

Florencia looks at her sonogram as Vero comes barging in without knocking. She hides the picture as Vero natters on and on about Nico. Florencia says something about a scandal.

Ismael visits Patricio and tells him what happened at the meeting. “Marta?” Patricio manages to get out. He basically tells Ismael that Marta has no intention of helping the police and that they need to respect her decision. Lo siento!

Bitter pill Charo has to go out and is leaving Lisset alone, large and in charge! Hardly, but at least she is leaving the house. Lisset flies to her phone and calls Alejandro telling him the coast is clear!

Patricio calls Marta and they agree to meet for coffee.

Vincente collects art assignments from his students and is left alone with Teo. He tells him something about his mother.

FUGITIVAS #56 Part 2

Patricio and Marta are seated and they talk about the fly in the ointment – Amanda. Patricio is quite charming and to my surprise and delight, the two kiss not once, but twice. They order cappuccino for her, and espresso for him. He holds her hand protectively, telling her he is only interested in that she is all right. They start sharing their feelings just as the waiter arrives, clearing his throat to let them know he is there.

Lisset greets Sofia and we next see them in Arturo’s office. Sofia takes out her notebook, punches in the combination and opens the safe. She plugs a USB into his computer to download the files as Lisset starts taking pictures of documents lifted from the safe.

A bit of tranquility as Natalia holds that adorable baby. Dario knocks and then enters. He offers her and the baby his room; he will stay in Matias’ room. She declines but he nicely insists. She tells him how generous he is and he seems happy to do it. He completely ignores Frida who has been standing there the entire time.

Patricio and Marta continue their conversation. He tells her she is so interesting and that she is a marvelous, positive person. I can’t understand everything said but listening to his dulcet tones and hearty laughter is balm to my soul) He seems completely smitten …

At the clinic, Alejandro goes up to Charo and says hello. She answers, at first, as it takes her a minute to figure out who he is. She insults him for being asesina Lorena’s lawyer. Alejandro has some potent ammunition of his own; he gets in her face and more than hints she could also bear responsibility for Juan Pablo’s departure from this world.

Sofia find some important information on the computer as Lisset retrieves the camera from its perch on Arturo’s office’s ceiling.

Vincente finds Lucre and takes her to get some food.

As Charo starts to leave the clinic, Alejandro harasses her again and she threatens to go to the police. He wants to know what secrets she is harboring about Juan Pablo. She insists that the Marquez’ are her family. He threatens her with jail as an accomplice. After she angrily leaves, he texts Lisset she is on her way back. Sofia manages to finish downloading the computer files and the women put everything back in place before scurrying out of Arturo’s office.

Lucha is eating a Sammie as Vincente hands her a picture that Teo drew. It is a red heart with very sad eyes. Naturally, she is upset crumpling the paper and thrusting it back at him (I can’t blame her). She does have a few choice words for him after which she grabs the food and stalks off.

FUGITIVAS #56 Part 3 of 3

“Hola hermosa” Nico says when Florencia calls. In no mood for love speak, she starts haranguing him about how he is treating Vero. He has to play the game; do it for me she asks. He very reluctantly agrees. He loves her. Right now, he needs to placate Vero Florencia insists. She makes kissing noises into the phone as my stomach lurches. Yuck.

Amanda asks her father where he was; he truthfully answers he was with Marta. He tries to reason with her, telling her what Marta means to him as she stares coldly, her lower lip trembling. She doesn’t say anything but it is clear she is struggling not to cry.

Alejandro calls Lorena telling her Sofia has the goods! Already she asks grinning ear to ear…I love you she manages.

Frida is at a table at the Oasis (where a sign boasts “it’s always happy hour”) writing a note when Lorena walks in. Lorena tells her where she is going hoping for good luck (fingers crossed). After, Frida is trying to find a place to leave the note, she puts it in a glass and then changing her mind, takes it out. It doesn’t show where the note ends up.

Vincente comes home and bossily takes Gabriela’s study books away from her. Later, he shares what happened today, showing her the sad heart Teo drew for his mother

Charo calls Florencia and says she saw Lorena’s lawyer. Florencia grabs her purse; she is on her way.

Alejandro goes to Sofia’s where Lorena is also headed.

Bad penny Carmen shows up looking for Dario. When she can’t find Dario in the bar, she knocks on his bedroom door and enters, finding Natalia and her baby! Incredulous, she asks Natalia who she is!

Florencia spies Lorena on the street and tells the taxi driver to let her out. Standing on the sidewalk, she yells out “Lorena Martinez”! Lorena, hearing her name, rises to the bait and turns around…

While I understood a (very) few things, for the most part, I only caught words here and there. I tried to properly convey what I thought occurred; my sincere apologies if I misinterpreted.

Juana #50 part 1of 3

Juana and Gabriel are looking at the ultrasound of their baby. Everything looks good but the baby could be premature. Gabriel tells the doctor they’re going to the United States for their safety. The baby might be born there. When they can tell the doctor where they are she can recommend a doctor.

Salvador tells the policemen to handle the body, identify it and see how long it’s been there, or dead. He wonders how Elvira knew the body was there. Pacheco asks if he thinks it’s Francisco. Tomas is watching.

Camila asks Manuel his reaction to his dad being fired. He already knew Gabriel didn’t trust his dad.

Gabriel tells Camacho the dogs have found the body. Camacho asks if they know it’s Francisco. Rogelio tells him they’ll call in experts to identify the body. They toast a job well done. Rogelio seems to think he’ll soon be back at the brewery.

Inez and Dani are talking about Gabriel leaving. Dani says he’s protecting Juana. Inez says she’ll miss him, he was the best boss. She tells Dani now that David will have his new job Dani will be his assistant. Dani doesn’t know if she wants it, but when David asks if he can count on her to help him she says yes.
Enriqueta goes into Carlos’ office. Everyone’s talking about Gabriel leaving a d Rogelio being fired. She’s worried about how this will affect the new partners. Carlos plans to meet with them and tell them. Enriqueta is worried they’ll think they made the deal with someone unstable. Tomas calls and tells them the police found a body on the land.

The police are manhandling Tomas and Almita. Salvador is walking over towards them when Quiroz shows up. Salvador is holding his phone and Quiroz accuses him of helping an assassin escape. He then decides to take Tomas and Almita in for questioning, accusing them of helping Gabriel escape. Salvador’s phone rings, it’s Gabriel calling from the doctor’s office. He ignores it but then Tomas’ phone rings, he tries to ignore it but Quiroz grabs the phone, sees it’s Gabriel and answers it. Quiroz tells Gabriel they found Francisco’s body on his land. They will put pictures of him everywhere so he will be found. Gabriel says he’s being framed. Quiroz has the police take Tomas and Almita away as they protest and tell him Gabriel is a good man. Salvador says he takes the blame for Gabriel getting away. Quiroz says a professional accepts his errors. Find him. Pacheco asks Salvador if he thinks Gabriel did it. His answer, after an eye roll, was, rough translation as I’m sure it was an expression, if someone puts it right in front of you look to the side for the guilty one.

Gabriel had told Juana it will be hard to get away, the airports will be covered. Now he tells her Salvador said powerful men are behind this, probably Fiscal Quiroz. He tells her Rogelio is very dangerous. Juana doesn’t think money is that powerful, love is.

Juana #50 part 2

Rogelio gets the call from Quiroz that the body of Francisco’s been discovered. Rogelio wants to know how Gabriel reacted when they put him in jail. When told he got away Rogelio is not happy and threatens Quiroz. Manuel comes in asking his dad about being fired. Rogelio tells him the hour of the reign of the Fuemayors has arrived.

Camacho comes to the brewery to get Rogelio’s personal stuff. Inez has Dani accompany him. Enriqueta, David and Carlos are talking. They can’t believe Francisco’s body was found on Gabriel’s land. Carlos says they can’t contact Gabriel or Juana because the phones will be watched by the police. Enriqueta wonders about Camila, but Carlos says they have to wait for the police to tell her. David says Juana and Gabriel don’t deserve this. Carlos says they have to just keep the business going. Enriqueta talks about how calmly Rogelio took his firing. Carlos says it’s because he had this plan.

Gabriel thinks it would be best if Juana went home, the police only want him. She won’t leave him. They kiss.

Rogelio wants Manuel to toast. They’ve won. Manuel wonders how he can be so sure. He explains the body on Gabriel’s land. Francisco’s shares now go to Elvira, who will vote with them. They’ve won the war. Manuel doesn’t look that happy.

Camila goes into Carlos upset that Gabriel took a vacation when he’s needed at the business. Carlos says it’s not a vacation, someone tried to kill Juana and him. He tells Camila to sit down. He tells her the police found a body on Gabriel’s land. She asks if it’s Francisco. They don’t know yet

Dani rings some stuff I to David’s new office. He feels strange to be there. Dani offers to burn incense or bless it. David locks the door and tells her about the body.

Gabriel gives the bodyguards his phone. They offer to go with him. He thanks them but says no. He asks Juana if she’s sure, she is. They’re now responsible for themselves. Gabriel mentions his cars, not sure what they were talking about.

Dani is worried Gabriel is an assassin. David assures her he’s not. She questions who it can be and he says her ex boss, Rogelio. She doesn’t know much about him, he was very serious and scared her.

Amparo and Paula come home and wonder why Rogelio and Manuel aren’t at work. Rogelio was fired and Manuel came home to tell him Gabriel and Jua a went away. Paula doesn’t see this as a reason to celebrate but Rogelio tells her he’ll soon be behind bars.

Camila walks into her office to be greeted by Viviana. She questions Camila’s relationship with Manuel. Camila calls her an idiot and says she’s a simple employee but Camila is an executive with a husband who’s a shareholder. She can’t question her about Manuel. Vanesa tells her she’s in a relationship with Manuel. Camila tells her it’s sex, don’t expect a wedding and sends her out.

A cleaning woman leaves a gun in Gabriel’s office. Inez sees her walk by.

Juana #50 part 3

Jenny is upset because Juana isn’t answering her phone. They’ve been so close for 20 years. Josefina offers to sleep in the room with her, in Juana’s bed.

Salvador, and Pacheco arrive at the brewery. They have a warrant to search the brewery and Gabriel’s office. He asks Enriqueta if she knows where Gabriel is. She tells him no, the last time she saw him he put the three of them in charge and told them to fire Rogelio. They want to talk to Inez.

Gabriel tells Gerardo he needs him and Julian to disappear for a while. The people looking for him are very dangerous. Julian drives up in a smaller car, it seems it’s his. He says it’s an excellent car. Juana asks Julian if he’ll go by her house and tell her family she won’t be able to communicate with them for a while.

David tells the staff to get back to work. He’ll have a meeting later to tell them what’s happening. Salvador asks Inez if she knows where Gabriel is. She doesn’t, she’ll go in with them when they search the office
Reny meets the maid by the delivery trucks. She is upset it was a gun. He gives her money and tells her to be quiet about this.

Jenny calls Dani to find out about Juana. Dani tells her something awful happened to Gabriel and Jenny should call Salvador.

In the office police are searching and find the gun. Inez tells them the door is never locked and people go in and out. They ask
Carlos if his nephew used guns and he says he doesn’t, that’s why he had bodyguards. Carlos thinks it’s a setup and Salvador agrees. Camila walks in and sees the gun. She asks if it was found here. She asks if the body is Fansisco’s.

Rogelio tells Paula that Gabriel will never be happy with the photographer, he’s the prime suspect in the death of Francisco. Paula seems shocked as she says, Gabriel killed Francisco?

Inez, David, Carlos, and Enriqueta are talking. about the gun found in the office. All agree Gabriel didn’t have a gun. Inez says Camacho came for Rogelio’s things but she didn’t think he went near the office. They agree if it was Gabriel he would not have hidden the gun in his office. They need to keep the workers calm as they learn about this. And
Carlos says they need to help Camila who is very nervous that the body is Francisco’s.

Margarita calls the family in as she sees the report on the news. Gabriel hear it on the car radio.

EXTRAS #1

Vicente's boss tells him he is not surprised by what he is telling him about Lucre. People on the street live in a constant state of alert because their situation is so unstable. That is why they reject anyone who wants to help hem. Vicente refuses to give up and will do all that he can to give Teo his mother back. The boss thinks he will accomplish that and smiles. Vicente says Lucre told him that when Teo was with her, he wouldn't stop talking. He thinks that Teo has gone mute because he is not with her.

Amanda actually admits to Marta that she had no right to interfere with her father's decision to be with her even though she doesn't agree with him going out with an ex-con. Marta tells her that she understands why she thinks like she does. She only hopes that someday Amanda can see people for who they are and not as just another file. Marta admits to having committed manslaughter and having paid for it with 18 years in prison where all she did was to try to be a better person. She wishes the now silent Amanda a good day and leaves.

Darío tells his son to not get too close to Pollito and her baby because they will have to leave. Matías still doesn't understand why they have to leave. They are all good people. His father has to explain again that they are FUGITIVAS! (The kid cannot be that stupid!) Matías brings up Frida. His father says things are over with her. Matías doesn't believe him.


Vero tells Flo how Nico told her to leave. He was tired and didn't want to go on listening to her. He never seeks her out to to spend time with her. They are novios in name only. She is going to break up with him. Flo tells her not to make decisions when she is so upset. She complained all the time to Ismael and he got fed up with her and now she is sorry. Creating scandals, anytime Vero sees Nico, is driving him away.

Vicente tells Teo to draw a picture for his mother.

Lucre is touched by the drawing but insists that her son is better off without her. Erick disagrees telling her any child is better off near their mother. She answers that she has nothing to offer him. She did when she had a job but now it is a different story. First she lost her job. She looked and looked but couldn't find another. They went walking the streets begging with no success. They barely had enough money for a piece of bread. That is why she let them take her son. This was no life for him. Ericka adds it was not life for her either. She asks him what he would know about it. Here she has her drugs to console her.
Erik adds they are also eating her brain. She makes it clear that she is in no mood for sermons!!! He goes on telling her how much Teo misses her. She doesn't want to hear what he is saying, grabs the other torta he's holding in a bag and limps away.

Gabriela tells Vicente that she is ready to resume her normal activities the next day.Vicente wants to make sure that Gabriela is feeling well enough and the swelling in her brain has gone down enough for her to return to her normal schedule. He says he will support her going back to her schedule if the doctor approves. The doctor ends up saying that she can resume her normal activities but if she gets a headache or gets tired, she needs to stop what she is doing and rest. In three weeks, she needs to go back to the hospital and get a scan to see how much the swelling in her brain has decreased. He reminds her to take her medication, too. She thanks him.

Extras #2

Vicente tells Gabriela about how frustrated he is with Lucre. Everything was going fine until he showed her the picture from her son. He thinks she is a lost cause. He tells her Lucre's story. Gabriela says maybe Lucre doesn't think there is a way out of her current situation. She thinks Erick should explain to Lucre about how rehab centers operate and how those places could give her a roof over her head and hot food. Vicente decides to find out more about them.

Sofía tells Alejandro that the job at Arturo's would have been much easier if the hard drive had not been encrypted. They agree that it is suspicious that Arturo would have the hard drive encrypted and locked up in a safe. Alejandro tells Sofía that Lorena is on her way over. Whatever they find on that hard drive, they are going to find it together.
 

Juana
Liz, thanks again. I don't understand how Elvira inherits the company shares and not Camila, unless there is a will I don't remember. I think Manuel will be the undoing of Rogelio. Also the memory card from the camera. I figured maybe that would be discovered in the packing phase for Juana.

I really like Carlos. I'm pretty sure Felipe is end game for Enriqueta, but Carlos is also a worthy beau. Ines would be a good match for him, but not enough episodes for that to happen.

Jarifa, thank you for shining your bright light on a pivotal episode that continues to move forward. You explained things splendidly.

"Vicente says Lucre told him that when Teo was with her, he wouldn't stop talking. He thinks that Teo has gone mute because he is not with her" was so important; thank you.

No wonder Florencia was so upset and distraught that Vero is driving Nico away (a short ride, right?? :)) Her cover will be blown!

At least Amanda isn't spewing more sewerage. For the moment.

Matias is completely in denial; he's old enough to realize the situation for what it is. He's right in that Dario isn't done with Frida, much as he would like to be.

Now there's a plan!! Now all that's left is the Herculean task of convincing Lucre she can and should recover her life for herself and her son.

Another strange thing, how in the world can the Dr predict a premature birth at less than 3 months gestation? That just seems weird. Now if she had a previous history of early birthday it would be more likely. And who else thought it strange a Dr in Mexico could recommend an ob in the huge state of California. Oh and how does Juana happen to have a passport handy when Jenny doesn't. Was that ever explained. With the US "immigration crisis" I would think it would be difficult for them to get a Visa, especially for Juana to then have an anchor baby. But I digress....

Thanks for your comments Kat. I didn’t understand Elvira inheriting the shares either. Rogelio told Manuel since Francisco and Camila were separated his mother would get them. But Camila has that forged paper saying he gave her the shares. Rogelio is smug about everything he does, I can’t wait to see him fall. I think Juana will find the memory card eventually, and we have Manuel and the maid that planted the gun. She wasn’t happy after she did it.
Enriqueta is a better fit with Carlos, he deserves someone. But she loves Felipe, who is basically a nice guy. Everyone will be paired up except Carlos.
I thought maybe the doctor is being extra cautious because of Juana’s fall. But it does seem like there’s usually a concrete reason a baby comes early. Maybe the writers want to add a little more anxiety by making us worry about that!
