TELEMUNDO Y MÁS (#1): La Familia, Sed de Venganza y más: Week of December 23, 2024
Welcome to Page 1 (Monday edition) of the Telemundo y Más page, issued twice a week: Mondays and Thursdays at 8:00 PM.
Here are the current telenovelas (all times are Eastern Standard Time):
- 10-11PM - La Familia*
- 12-1AM - Sed de Venganza**
*La Familia will not be shown 12/24, but my guide says it's on Christmas Day. This sort of corresponds to things I noticed in my years working with Latinos...Noche Buena seems more important than Christmas Day.
**Sed de Venganza will not be shown Christmas Day (midnight) but is on the rest of the week.
Everyone is welcome to join in the conversation. Since discussions of all the Telemundo novelas share the same page, please remember to put the name of the telenovela you're referring to at the top of your post so readers can easily find the conversation they're looking for.
By common agreement, this group DOES NOT discuss previews, trailers, or any other plot information not found in a current or past episode of the current production. Spoilers WILL be removed by the admin. This includes references to earlier productions of the story, and even the original novel. Thanks for your cooperation!

To catch up from last week, at the marina, cucumbers were somehow pumped into a gas truck(or something like that) , thwarting the plan of Cihan and Ilyas. And something is going on with Ilyas and Nedret but we don’t know what yet. Is he the father of her sketchy son, Bedrik? Maybe! But we don’t know. Then Nedret, after giving Aslan marina money, moved into grandma’s house where everyone else lives now, along with her sketchy son. Nedret also brought along Asuman who we thought might be her daughter but is really a follower or something of Nedret? It doesn’t really matter because she and Turgut had a meet-cute and we all want good things (and Asuman) for Turgut. And Nedret, iffy as she may be, is there to cause grief for Hulya, which should be fun because Hulya is still trying to get custody of her grandkids for no good reason. And Ibo has proven himself to be a big dumb jerk who deserves Hulya.
.
Morning at The New House. Devin dreams about Aslan and calls out his name in her sleep. He thinks this is funny. And then when she wakes, ask if she was having a nightmare. He’s a funny guy. He tells her to take a cold shower because she’s a sweating from her “nightmare” haha.
.
Hulya makes it clear to the servants that she is the boss of the house and they shouldn’t listen to anyone else in the house. Then she makes this rule extra clear to the Cook that no one else runs her kitchen.
.
Some guy tells Hulya that Aslan bought the house that Nese is living in and gave it to Nese. Hulya tells the guy to turn Aslan in and tell them they are using Nese to launder money. Aslan comes outside and threatens her again about the Leyla situation and tells her if she and Uncle Ibo are plotting against Leyla, he will not only burn down the house, he will burn the two of them. Seems like evicting her would be better but I’m not mafia family so maybe this just isn’t done.
.
Ibo is plotting against Leyla by getting her drugs that I assume she won’t know about until it’s too late. Ibo then goes to see Cihan about getting his money back because the marina plan didn’t work. Cihan wants to know if he’ll give it to Hulya. Ibo then threatens to tell the cops where Ilyas is if he doesn’t get his money back. I’m hoping Ibo isn’t long for this world.
.
Asuman has cooked breakfast, despite Hulya’s threat, and she serves Nedret and Ceylan and then sits down herself. They have a nice little conversation. But then Bedri finds out Aslan has already left for the marina and takes off. Nedret tells him that if Aslan is the jefe, so is he. She then blesses him and gives him something to drink (feeding it to him?) and he leaves.
.
Serap shows up at her house as Ibo is leaving and I think we know now who attacked her when she was a kid. She is later mad at Cihan because she didn’t want him walking out of there alive.
.
More threats between Hulya and Nedret. Blah blah blah.
Monday, pt. 2 of 3
.
Bedri enters a meeting that Aslan is in at the marina. He takes the other side of the table. The meeting continues with Aslan running it. He assures the group that everything is safe at the marina, etc. But then Bedri Shakra, co-owner of the marina, as he introduces himself, butts into the conversation. He doesn’t make much of an impression so far.
.
Eko and Turgut talk about Bedri’s father who disappeared. Maybe he was killed, maybe this or that, no one knows. (Maybe he’s Ilyas???) The meeting has then broken up, and Bedri and Aslan talk about the business. Bedri pulls out a calculator, does some math and shows Aslan that he should get rid of troublesome tenants.
.
Nedret has a couch delivered to the house while Hulya has a chair delivered. This is fun. Furniture fight! Nedret wins and gets her sofa. Devin greets Nedret sweetly and doesn’t say boo to Hulya. Hulya follows Devin out asking if she has sent the kids away. She tosses in a subtle threat about Nese and Yagmur, but Devin isn’t bothered.
.
Nese is playing cards with friends, having a good ole time, when the doorbell rings. It’s cops.
.
Aslan gets up from the meeting table and sits closer to Bedri and he is not happy about all that math. And also the meddling. He talks about his spiraling temper that he’s having a hard time keeping in check. He doesn’t want to have to remind Bedri that he’s number 2. Aslan tosses his calculator on the floor and tells Bedri to leave. Bedri has an actual number 2 tattooed on the back of his neck. (What??)
.
Nese’s house. The ladies quickly hide the cards and cash and Nese goes to the door to see what’s up. The cop tells her she’s accused of money laundering and that her case is being investigated. She’s ordered to go to the station in the next three days to give her statement. The “friends” take their leave and Nese may not have friends anymore. She rushes to call Devin, ordering her to the house.
.
Aslan gives Leyla an update on Melek, but Leyla’s not looking good. Sweating, she ends the call and splashes water on her face. Then she hallucinates seeing Melek, but it turns out to be the older woman asking if she’s ok. She lies and says yes.
.
Asland and Ibo have a talk on Ibo’s boat. Aslan asks Uncle Ibo if he was one who told Cihan about the delivery because they know it was an insider job. Aslan eventually loses his temper and punches one of Ibo’s guys into the water. The Lads (Isko and Turgut) stop the other guy from going after Aslan and a tap is secretly placed on the boat by Isko.
.
Nese and Devin talk. Nese blames Devin for all this because it’s her marriage that got them into this. And Nese tells her and Yagmur that she called Sevilay to tell her everything that has been on her mind all these years. Nese being Nese.
.
Monday, pt. 3 of 3
.
Devin recalls all of Hulya’s veiled threats against her family and the lightbulb goes off.
.
Back at The House, Bedret has apparently invited a whole coven of women and Hulya is as welcoming as you’d expect. So not at all. Hulya confronts Nedret who tells her they have all heard about her good fortune and have come to congratulate her because they love her. And if Hulya wats them out, she can kick them out. Hulya is defeated and goes to her room.
.
Devin tells Nese that Hulya created this problem. Then Devin’s dad is outside yelling for Nese to get out here. He’s mad that Nese called his wife. Lots of fighting in the street and I think the neighbors would like for everyone to move out of this house. He says something about her trying to kill herself and that makes her stop yelling, but I missed the details.
.
Hulya, having recovered from her earlier humiliation, starts tossing stuff out of the window upstairs at Nedret and her guests who are having lunch at a table outside. Nedret is reminded of the time her father kicked her out of the house and tossed her things out of the window at her, which I assume was Hulya’s intention. Hulya yells out of the window that the house is hers and demands that the women leave. Nedret sits silently and says nothing while Asuman takes charges of escorting the women out and telling them they will do this another time.
.
Bedri is hosting a bbq when Aslan shows up to the festivities. Sounds like these people having lunch were the tenants? And that Bedri doubled their fee? Aslan says the contracts weren’t final and there is some posturing between these two. I’m not really sure what Bedrik is trying to do here, other than annoy Aslan.
.
Nedret is silent for some time at the outside table. Hulya has come down to harass her more, telling her she will kick her out every day that she’s there. Nedret closes her eyes and remembers being given a letter by Hulya that she is not part of the family and other terrible things. Hulya tells her if she’s strong enough to stay at the house, she’ll be strong enough to relive the torment every day. No one would blame Bed
.
Yagmur calls Aslan on her way t the marina. She fills him in on the Nese situation. He tells the Lads it’s something new every day, gives them their orders, and goes off.
.
Serap and her grandma look at pics of Bedri and grandma asks what’s that on his neck. (Good question!) Ilyas asks why she hates the Soykan so much. She lies and says it’s because they tried to kill him, isn’t that enough.
.
Leyla loses it and starts a fight with another prisoner. They think she’s gone crazy.
.
Seems that Elif has accepted Eko’s proposal. Yagmur walks by, and a couple other guys say dumb guy things to her. Eko, naturally, gets up to defend her. But Bedri gets there first and threatens the dumb guys. Eko watches this while Elif walks away. Eko catches up to her and she says to be sure what he wants before calling her again and she gives him back the ring. Good for her!
.
Aslan gets to the house and Devin asks why he bought her the house without telling her. They talk while Nese is in the kitchen and pulls a knife out of the drawer. Sound of glass breaking and Devin and Aslan go up to the kitchen to see what that was. And we’re out!

So no show tomorrow so Telenovela can show How the Grinch Stole Xmas (Como el Grinch Robo la Navidad?). But the show is back on Xmas Day, which seems odd. But have a happy holiday everyone however you celebrate. But whatever you're doing, I hope it includes some of that delicious-looking Turkish food.
K
Juanita: Do you know when will "Las Casillas" will debut on Telemundo in 2025 ? I am going to strongly assume this will replace "LA FAMILIA" in the 9:00 PM CST timeslot correct ?
Gracias, K. Thanks especially for crafting a fun recap amidst the busy holiday time. I like the word "sketchy" that you used to describe Bedri. I'm still trying to decide about him. I loved this snark: "Seems like evicting her would be better but I’m not mafia family so maybe this just isn’t done."
Grrrh!!! I can't wait for Ibo to get his just desserts. I want to see him publicly humiliated before everyone, and then Ilyas can have his way with him. Cihan looked like he might've noticed Serap's reaction to Ibo.
Cihan seems to think Bedri will become his and Ilyas's new mole, but I hope not. Bedri is a pain but maybe not evil.
K., I continue to be amazed and impressed that you're able to produce such compelling recaps while simultaneously watching the dizi. At times, I try to write notes to myself while watching. Mostly, I find that too difficult, but even when I manage to write something, I can't even read what I've written.
Yes, Negret may be "iffy," but any enemy of Hulya is just fine with me.
I was interested in your saying "Serap shows up at her house as Ibo is leaving and I think we know now who attacked her when she was a kid." I assume you mean Ibo? Wow, somehow I missed that.
I enjoyed your "More threats between Hulya and Nedret. Blah blah blah." I thought that's what they said, but I wasn't sure. :-)
So Aslan reminds Bedri that he's just #2, and then we see that he has a 2 tattooed on his neck. Hmmm....
Ah, so we get another flashback to when Nedret, then a young woman, was kicked out of the house. In the present, Hulya throws the clothes out the window, mimicing what Nedret's father did in the past. Hulya promises a new reminder each day until Nedret leaves.
Hulya apparently has a double win on this day. Not only does she torment Nedret with memories of the past, she also succeeds in getting a drugged Leyla to get into a fight with other women in the room, making it likely that Leyla will not be relieased anytime soon. Sigh.
Thanks very much, K., for this excellent recap.
We don’t KNOW know that Ibo was Serap’s attacker. I’m guessing based on her strong reaction to him and the “scene from the past” that was shown right after they met. Given how much we all dislike Ibo now, I think we’d be ok with her raining some vengeance down on his head.
I’ll give Bedri some leeway for now. He may just be a young pest but he might also be a part of a plan by Nedret. Can’t be sure yet
And sorry about the blah blah blah. I do miss the details trying to recap while watching even when the captions are in English. But I think all their conversations are arguements. But the enemy of my enemy and all that, so hope Nedret gets in some more digs to Hulya.
K
Thanks SO much, K., for that terrific recap. As usual your snark is first class. Late to the party out doing last-minute stuff. No, not Xmas shopping; I'm not that much of a procrastinator. Had a bad moment arriving at Peet's at 4:15 and discovered they closed early for Christmas Eve. Glad for their employees but sorry for my caffeine addiction, as I had used the last of my beans today. Bought some stop-gap cold brew coffee so I won't have a road rage incident on the way to my son's house for Christmas Day package opening and dinner.
Interesting theory about Ilyas being Nedret's baby daddy. But wasn't there at least one allusion to his having been a bad guy and Bedri and/or Nedret having offed him?
I think Bedri is a rotten guy. I'm a bit sad about that because I really want Nedret to be the anti-Hulya. I think those guys who were ogling Yagmur are his henchies. His fury at their comments to Yagmur fit right in with the time he saw her arriving at his mother's and trying to chat her up. I suspect that's not the last of his "thing" for Yagmur.
Nese. Pfft. Only the drama queen would cut her wrists with her daughter right outside to stop the bleeding. Speaking up for mothers everywhere, and I am one, she's a total waste of space.
I guess Bedri has those badly behaved henchies because he can't afford Turgut and Iskoc.
Yes, Serap was frozen with fear at the sight of Ibo. If Ilyas ever finds out.... I don't understand why Serap doesn't just tell the truth. Ilyas' revenge would be terrible.
K., there's no need to apologize for saying "blah blah blah." On the contrary, I LOVED your saying that! It concisely conveyed all the stupidities they threw at each other.
I have an alternative idea to explain per Serap. Perhaps Aslan's dad was the guy that attacked her. In a flashback we see Ibo tending a battered Hulya ( if the young people match up as we believe, though Nedret's mole moved from below her lip to above). Perhaps Ibo became aware of his brother's actions and has gone in to check on her. Just an idea. Something has made Hulya such an awful woman and an abusive spouse may be part of it. This TN is definitely not your normal who done it. I still wonder how Nedret earned all her money and status. I'm also on the fence about Bedri. He may not be a bad guy.
Merry Christmas to those who celebrate. We are celebrating with family as usual. My son doesn't do much at their place so they will be arriving in an hour or so to open the gifts he stashed here for them, then off to my daughter's for lunch with our family and her in laws.....it's nice that 2 of our children ( and our 5 grands) live 30 minutes from us and each other...
Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday! Off to take gifts from their hiding place.
Interesting comments. Bedri and Nedret are keeping me guessing. It was cute when Ceylan, like me, was surprised and amused when Nedret poured Bedri's drink into his mouth (to wish him well?). I'm enjoying the culture they bring. I hope Bedri doesn't make me regret it.
Thanks, K, for the fab recap.
Wishing everyone a Merry and a Happy. Wishing big anvils for Hulya and Ibo. Better not be redemption for either of them. I remember how ticked I was when they washed Azize in Hercai. Anything is possible in a dizi.
I'm a little surprised they have a episode on Christmas Day. I'll try to put up some highlights tomorrow afternoon.
Aslan and Devin rush upstairs after hearing the sound of breaking glass. They find Nese chopping veggies with the knife she ominously stared at in the previous episode. What happened? Nothing, Nese answers, I accidentally dropped a glass. It’s the evil eye. She proceeds to drop 2 more glass items to the floor to dispel the evil eye. [Love the look on Aslan’s face.]
Nese is manic. She asks, are you hungry, hija? How’s your mother, Aslan? I heard she reported me for laundering money… Devin thinks so… Ergun was here earlier, you missed him… better not to see his ugly face… [I think her encounter with Ergun triggered this. He mentioned suicide] … I’ve been thinking of breast surgery… Devin interrupts. Nese turns to Aslan—breasts are important, right? He stutters in surprise and embarrassment.
Nese wants to have a big feast. Aslan tries to beg off. Nese walks over to him and points the knife. Aren’t we family? I’d like you to stay. Devin tries to take the knife from Nese. No dice.
Dinner. Nese is still yammering. She’s also drinking. What are we celebrating today? Are you going to prison, or will I? Aslan tells her she’s not going to prison… my lawyer is… She interrupts—how’s your sex life? Devin chokes. Mom! He doesn’t have to answer that. We are separated. Aslan leans over and snarky whispers to Devin, so the dream you had didn’t count?
Nese accuses (Aslan?) of wanting to control everything. We can’t talk about what we want, how we live, or die how we want. Cue ominous music and Devin is on alert. Nese looks at Aslan, did Devin ever tell you why she became a psychologist? Devin doesn’t want her to bring it up. Nese continues, it was so her loved ones won’t die. She was 8 years old. Nese asks Aslan, can a family revive someone who died for love? I don’t know, Aslan replies, but I have seen love revive someone who has been killed by their family. He looks at Devin.
Nedret is stirring a pot in the kitchen, literally and figuratively. Hulya’s cook, Gokce, is alarmed. That soup is forbidden in this house—Hulya’s instructions. She will fire me!
Yagmur is ready to leave the marina, but her car is still at the shop. She’s looking for a taxi. Conveniently, Bedri drives by. [his car reminds me of the green, boro taxis in NYC.] He offers her a ride. Wherever he’s going, she says she’s going in the opposite direction. [Ha. We know where this is going.]
Hulya’s dinner table. Ibo asks, where’s Nedret? Hulya thinks Nedret is hiding after what happened. Nope. Nedret shows up with the forbidden soup and places a nice, hot bowl before Hulya and this triggers a flashback to 40 or so years ago.
Hulya is at the dinner table with inconsolable infant Aslan. Yusuf is angry and orders Nedret to take the baby from Hulya. Hulya begs him not to do this and she loses that battle. Nedret takes baby Aslan. Hulya cries. Yusuf walks over to Hulya and says, she’s (Nedret) right, you can’t take care of him. Cut to smug Nedret. Yusuf punishes Hulya. She can’t see Aslan for 2 days and he spills forbidden soup in her lap. End flash.
Hulya is gasping. Nedret turns the tables. If you allow yourself to live in this house, you’ll allow yourself to experience this torment again and again. We all face a trial in this world. Yours has to do with motherhood. Since you couldn’t be a mother to your children, you want your grandchildren with you, don’t you? What a shame. Hulya snaps back, don’t mention my children or my grandchildren again!
Nedret asks, do you know why I’m here? To make you vomit back what you stole from me. Now only my coffin will return to Adana. Ibo tries to intercede, but Nedret shows him the hand. Nedret continues, I’m no longer the young Nedret that you knew. From now on, especially for you (Hulya), I am Nedret Soykan.
Nese is clearly drunk. Devin suggests that she go to bed. She’s not going. She asks Aslan about Zeynep and Kaya. They’re not doing well, he replies, all in one day, their mother and father were gone. Devin must be great help, Nese says, she knows what it is like. She understands what they are going through. 25 years ago, to be exact. You remember that day when you look at us, don’t you, she asks Devin.
Devin doesn’t want to go there. Nese continues anyway. Can I give you motherly advice? Don’t try to become a mother. Aslan jumps in—Nese Hanım, it’s none of your business. Nese can’t be stopped. Not all women have to be mothers. Look at me… I’m a mother and if we are honest, I ruined 2 lives. Devin just stares.
Aslan tries in vain to get Nese to shut up. He finally bangs the table in anger and frustration and a bowl breaks. Evil eye, Nese says as she gets up from the table. It must be three. She pulls the tablecloth and drags the entire table contents to the floor. Aslan escorts Nese to her bedroom.
Yagmur is in Bedri’s car. She asks about his “2” tattoo. He explains it’s so whoever is behind him knows his place. [I think Bedri is a jerk. But the jury is still out on evilness.] He says this doesn’t apply to Yagmur. She asks to be dropped off. She does thank him.
A car pulls up alongside Bedri, ready to race. He takes the challenge. He’s outmaneuvered and the cars pull off the road in front of a dürüm shop. The other drive is Serap! And Cihan has been waiting there.
Devin is outside looking over at the sea. Aslan asks, how are you? As a child, I used to come here when I was sad, she replies. Flashback with voiceover. I understand why this place is comforting. Things were different there. Another dimension. She went there to escape the insults and the shouting matches. Devin laments this doesn’t work as well now that she’s grown. There’s a bunch of dead plants in pots out on the terrace. Roses.
Back to the dürüm shop. Slight edit here. Bedri checks out his car and makes an excuse for losing the race. Bad air filter. Serap is quick to say, “you came in second.” Lol. He says I’ll change the filter, and we’ll go again, sister. This doesn’t count. Cihan chimes in, don’t change the filter, change your brain.
Cihan notes that Bedri is a partner at the marina. It’s a problem. Cihan demonstrates. He takes a skewer from Bedri’s plate and wraps it in flatbread. He tells Bedri, Aslan’s going to devour you. I’m not as naïve as you think, Bedri replies, he can’t get rid of me so easily. Cihan offers free advice. It’s what’s tattooed on Bedri’s neck. It’s not good to be number 2. If you want to be number 1, call us. We’re going to buy the marina. Cihan tells Serap, let’s go. He tells Bedri, the loser pays the tab.
Devin and Aslan tend to the flowerpots. Devin says her mom is not a bad person. Aslan jokes, he knows. I had fun, especially when she started smashing things. She even asked about my sex life. They laugh. Devin says her mother is not bad, but sick. She goes from the highest high to the lowest low. For example, when she was in love, the place was full of flowers. When Dad would leave, she’d crash, and the flowers would die. When I was young, I’d water the flowers. I thought if they stayed alive, my mother would.
What happened, Aslan asks. They died, Devin replies. I overwatered them. They rotted. Then one day, Dad left forever. Aslan gets impaled by a thorn. Devin treats the wound. Aslan asks, what happened after your father left forever?
Flashback. Young Devin finds her mom on the floor. There’s blood. Devin explains, I was 8. When he left, I learned that love kills. I thought I was past it… and then we got together. Aslan shares, there’s something I can’t forget either. The Devin that I fell in love with. The Devin that healed us with her love. If our love was put in a box that reads “love kills”, I wouldn’t think twice about opening that box.
I opened that box, Devin replies, I did it with you. I only opened it once and I died a thousand times. There’s nothing left to kill. Nothing left to live for. She goes to check on her mom.
Cihan questions Serap’s motivations for wanting to destroy the Soykans. Flashback to terrorized, abused Serap. Ibo (!) warns her, don’t make stuff up. You don’t want to worry anyone needlessly. If you do, your father will go to prison or to the grave.
Serap asks Cihan, [Turkish] do you speak Romanian? I don’t, he replies, but I can read it in your eyes. She touches his lip and she remembers, there was blood last time. She asks, does it still hurt? He says he can take it. She moves in for the kiss and stops—you reek of onions, I hate the scent. Cihan notes her familiar tactic and says, maybe one day you’ll tell me why you hate the Soykans.
Hulya asks Ibo when the results will be ready. She takes his hand. [ugh, this moron is melting from her touch.] Aslan can’t find out. He’ll go crazy. I’ll borrow K’s blah, blah, blah, here.
Leyla cries and looks at her kids’ pic. She imagines they are there. They embrace. Zeyno asks, why did you abandon us? I didn’t, Leyla cries. The kids disappear. She’s alone in the cell. Hulya appears. Don’t search in vain. You’ll never see them again. Leyla attacks Hulya. But it’s not Hulya, it’s a cell mate. Leyla is dragged out of the cell.
Devin wakes up next to her mother. She enters the kitchen/dining space and finds all is clean and in order.
Aslan is at the marina. He’s met by Eko. Bedri is already there meeting with prospective tenants.
Hulya reads the morning paper. Nedret has made a huge contribution to her foundation. Clothes, jewelry and cars. Hulya asks for Nedret’s whereabouts. She’s at the baths. Hulya heads off.
Bedri is trying to close the tenant deal, but Aslan interferes and ruins it. Mostly FF>>, recapper's prerogative. If you want to talk details go ahead. Aslan takes the opportunity to mock Bedri’s tattoo. [maybe Bedri should think of getting it removed if he stays in Istanbul.]
Isko and Turgut are recording a secret parking garage meeting between Ibo and Cihan. Ibo wants his money, and they let us think for a second that Cihan is going to give him payment in lead. Nope, Ibo gets a check instead. Cut and take for Isko and Turgut.
Bedri’s up to something. He says he wants to pull the tail of the lion.
Hulya busts into the bath to confront Nedret. Hulya intends to return Nedret’s donations once she leaves Istanbul. Nedret tries once again to explain that she’s not leaving. She staying no matter how Hulya tries to humiliate her. Hulya says she’s not doing it for sheer pleasure. If you take what’s mine, I will take out my claws. If you want a battle, I’ll win this war.
Devin has prepared a nice breakfast for Nese. She talked to the lawyer about the investigation and says they have to prepare for it. Nese apologizes. Devin is understanding and is ready to let it go as a bad day. Nese is very sorry. I’m sorry for all I put you through, she says. Sorry I wasn’t there for you. Sorry I wasn’t a good mother.
Back to the baths. Only the Lord knows whether we win or lose, Nedret says. I only know you will pay a high price. I will take all your loved ones. You will die alone. [sounds good to me.] Hulya asks, do you plan to sin that much? We are all sinners, Nedret replies, but at least I repent. I’d take pity on you if you weren’t so dishonest. Do you know who you’re really mad at? Yourself. Because you chose the wrong man. [was there a right man at all?] You like power but you also need compassion. That’s why your heart went out to Ibrahim.
For better or worse, I lived my life, Hulya replies, you can’t say the same. The man you loved denied you his love and affection. Nedret asks, does your son know that Uncle Ibo loves his mother? He knows, Huyla answers. Don’t worry about my son, worry about yours. He could hear about his mother’s affair with Ilyas Koruzade. [Aha!]
Flashback. Hulya says, you forgot this and hands Nedret an envelope that reads, “Kara Sevdam’a” (to my black/dark love)—Ilyas. Nedret cries. End flash. Hulya’s work is done.
Serap and Cihan report to Ilyas. They are done with Ibo. It will be painful for him. Salih announces a visitor. It’s Bedri!
Ibo calls Hulya. It’s going according to plan. Traces of drugs were found in Leyla’s blood. You can request custody of the kids. He doesn’t realize he’s being recorded by the bug placed by Isko. And he has more good news that he will tell her at dinner. He looks at Cihan’s check.
Leyla is in solitary. The guard brings her food. She wants a pencil and paper. She throws the food. She suspects she’s being poisoned. The guard tells Leyla she doesn’t realize the trouble she is in and tells her to call her lawyer.
Nese notes that Devin was like a mother to Yagmur. Now she’s looking after Zeyno and Kaya. You will be an excellent mother. Maybe not, Devin replies, I may never become a mother.
Leyla calls Devin. We don’t get more than that.
Cagri tells Aslan that drugs must have been mixed with something Leyla drank. Aslan says talk to the staff. Find out who ordered this. Make sure Leyla gets out of this mess.
Isko shows Aslan the recording of Ibo and Cihan. Turgut plays the recording of Ibo’s call to Hulya. Turgut has more, but we don’t see what it is yet.
And we are out.
