Next Morning

Before the meeting began Demon told everyone that Jezabel was taking a few days off. Angel made his entrance into the conference room in a dark suit, turtleneck sweater, and a more corporate haircut. Aurora, Antonio, JC, and Helena were impressed. Demon looked put out.

Jezabel looked in the mirror and laughed at Aurora. Then she applied the lipstick... and screamed.

Aurora announced that Angel will take on the project. Demon did not like this, saying the project needed someone with experience so he would work on it with Helena.

Jezabel splashed her mouth with cold water, which gave her no relief.

Briana and Teté found Edgar foaming at the mouth.

Jezabel looked into a mirror and smashed it as she called for Carmela.

Demon got sarcastic and tried to challenge Angel's qualifications and right to head the project. Helena seemed to back him. The DNA question came up. JC said the results should be in shortly; the rest of the process could take a few weeks. Antonio pointed out that he is a witness to the case. Demon still looked smug.

Jezabel told Carmela to call Demon and tell him she was going to the hospital.

Teté called for an ambulance as Briana cradled Edgar's head to make him vomit.

Angel said he was willing to wait for the legal process but will not tolerate his father being called a liar. Demon tried again to prevent Angel from taking his place in the company by saying he had no place there until he was proven to be Aurora's son. Helena tied to say something and he tried to interrupt her, which she made clear she would not tolerate. Antonio backed Angel, saying this was up to Aurora. JC said they needed proof of Angel's identity but that should not mean he couldn't work there. Aurora put her foot down to have Angel working with Antonio. JC excused himself and left the meeting. Demon said “This is a nightmare. It's a lie.”

Cassandra was just outside and she tried to assure JC that all this did not mean what he thought. Demon was smugly determined to prove that Angel was not a Campero. After he walked out Helena said this project will be a great success.
 

Angel/Aurora. Another splendid recap, Urban! I loved your critical comments, like "Recapper shakes head." I wonder if Demian is plotting some DNA falsification, but probably not; Antonio and JC are too smart to let something like that happen. JC is still a bad sport where Aurora is concerned. He will probably end up doing their relationship in. And Jezebel is such a (skilled) liar! I thought it was interesting that the police in Mexico give the same warning about an arrested person's rights as US police. Edgar has taken poison?

108 countries have the right to silence, believe it or not.

There certainly are enough episodes left for Demon to try to pull a false DNA test situation; a rerun of his mother's. We can only hope that Antonio and/or JC can prevent this, since neither Aurora nor Angel deserve this.

Edgar could have taken poison and thee ae several poisons that were popular murder weapons in past eras.

#84 will be up tomorrow, but I can't promise a time. 83 was not on Spectrum's site and Vix is not reliable for subtitles.

Thanks Urban, that was great. I do wonder why you g men in Jezabel’s radar end up killing themselves, or trying to. We do know she was behind her ex’s, can’t believe i forgot his name, suicide. Did she give Edgar something when she was there? I think Helena is slowly realizing she’s made a mis take in choosing Demon. I keep waiting for her to over hear something incriminating between mother and son.

With 42 episodes to go a lot could happen.

Jezabel is a malignant narcissist. She had the radar for vulnerable people and gets off on destroying them. People like this see positive emotion as weakness and will take shameless advantage of it. Fabrizio is her most obvious victim, as we saw every nasty kind of thing she did to him. He was vulnerable from the outset; we saw in the flashbacks how badly he was abused by his father so he was easy prey. Carlos looked pathetic to others in the office and it was clear to those of us who have been watching telenovelas from the beginning that he was a goner one way or another.

Luis can be saved because he has JC and now has friends who want to protect him. JC knows that Jezabel is poison. As to whether she brought poison into Edgar's abode, that is a good question. We have to hope now he can be saved so someone has to see to it that Jezabel can't get to him in the hospital. The acid lipstick is only a temporary distraction due to TN Law that dictates that she will not fall until the finale.

Jezabel ran into the hospital in pain.

Aurora and Antonio explained that this was going through the motions, saying that JC could accelerate the legal process to establish his new place in the world. He was not used to this. Antonio told him there was nobody he should fear. Aurora told him he was the best thing to happen to her.

Demon complained that Aurora was guilty of nepotism [Obviously Demon thought that only he should benefit from this]. He claimed there was no proof that said Angel was Aurora's son. Helena told him that this was about the project and then Demon did not want to talk about Angel. Carmela's call came in and he rejected it. He wanted to go to Las Flores; Helena wanted to work on the project. Alone.

Cassandra tried to assure JC that Aurora loved him. His jealousy was always there when he would see Aurora with Antonio.

Carmela got Demon on the second attempt. He ended the call and left, rejecting Helena's offer to go with him.

Aurora told Angel they had to talk about his name. She suggested Angel Gabriel. Elvia came in, saying she needed to talk, but she marked her territory and made sure Aurora noticed.

Teté sat by Edgar's hospital bed, worried for him and apologizing for her maternal shortcomings. Briana came in and Teté told her the doctor diagnosed this as an attempted suicide. They agreed that he should not be left alone. They stepped outside the room and Briana told Teté about Jezabel's condition. Teté was satisfied for the moment but determined to get Jezabel for all she had done to Edgar, She asked Briana what was the nature of Patricia's relationship with Jezabel.

Another doctor told Jezabel she was not to talk much or the scarring would get worse, as she had third-degree burns. This would likely take a few weeks. The nurse brought out a medical mask for her.

Once alone with Aurora Elvia told her how she discovered that Angel was Gabriel. Aurora was outraged at not having been informed immediately and blamed Elvia's relationship with Antonio. Elvia then figured out that Aurora was jealous because she had never stopped loving Antonio.

Antonio and Angel talked about the new situation – which still felt like a movie script to Angel. Antonio told him he needed to be on his guard at all times because Pintas was still at large. Helena came in. Antonio left to go to lunch with Elvia. Angel modeled his new look, telling her he did this for Aurora, Antonio, and her. He moved in for an embrace and she looked nervous. [Really, Angel? You really don't need another fight with Demon]. Angel backed away and they sat down to work after establishing the rules and that Demon will not be involved.

Aurora would not allow any mention of her personal life, Elvira the same, and they came to a truce. Aurora said she had stopped loving Antonio a long time ago. Elvia then gave her the file with the progressed head shot of Angel. She explained that this was the original one made by the police and given to Rocha. Aurora realized that he had altered it. Elvia thanked her for entrusting such an important case to her. Aurora said that so many other discoveries came out of it. Elvia said she loved Antonio and hoped this would not be a problem for her. Aurora told her she was glad and hoped that Antonio felt the same [We have our doubts, though].

The doctor asked Jezabel where she bought the lipstick. She answered that she did not know, couldn't remember. He told her to rest and to not talk. After he left the room she asked herself who could have done this to her [Suspect list must be very long].

Teté told Briana not to lie. She admitted that her mother and Jezabel were friends, her mother always wanting to be like Jezabel. She was sue that had not happened Teté told her she knew things about hr mother that would freeze her blood. Briana did not want to know such things. Teté said thay she wanted Jezabel to burn alive for what she did to her son. [Just tell us where to go with the torches.]

Antonio looked for Aquiles and Glorio and was told they no longer worked at Campero. The uniformed employee also explained their accusations about Jezabel. Antonio was shocked.

Angel and Helena worked until Demon's and Jezabel's names came into it. Angel mentioned that deadly herbs never die and the night that Pascual tried to return him to Aurora. He was grateful to have had Pascual and Vicki as parents because of their values.

Aurora thought about Elvia's comment. JC entered her office and wanted to talk about this. He accused her of putting Antonio on a pedestal. He felt displaced. He should have been involved in bringing Angel into the meeting. He wanted her to not have Antonio in their lives which also meant he should not be helping Angel. [Nobody seems to have told him that Antonio would have been Angel's father if the church wedding had not been stopped].

Elvia and Antonio met outside and they agreed to go out to eat.

Edgar woke up asking to see Cassandra. His voice was weak.

JC and Aurora went around that same corner again with her explaining the mentor relationship established between Antonio and Angel. Each felt a lack of respect from the other. JC accused her of wanting to keep Antonio near her. He thought that this would be over when Gabriel was found, but if she wanted to save their marriage she knew what she had to do.

Elvia told Antonio about the trip she made to Boston after her father's murder. MORE then she returned to Mexico. Antonio told her he was a child when his parents died and he was raised by his grandmother. After he left Las Flores he sank into depression trying to forget the love he had felt for Aurora. He was still young but unsure how he could find another love. He had repented this, saying that such scars remain. She said that perhaps someday they will [After all this time? The recapper doubts that.]

Tiana wanted to hear all the dirt about the meeting but Helena didn't give her that. Tiana tried to tease her, but didn't get a rise out of her. Helena took out her phone and called Demon, who had just finished talking to the doctor. He told Helena what he knew about Jezabel's condition,.

Antonio seemed to pull back from Elvia, suggesting that they be friends or stop seeing each other. Undeterred she suggested they go to a favorite place of hers.

Cassandra called Aquiles and the others to tell them about Angel's entrance at the meeting and promised to update them. Pepe invaded this, much to Esperanza's annoyance.

The plainclothes cop said they needed to investigate this. He mentioned talking to Pascual, then he left. Demon asked Jezabel about the lipstick and she said she had not bought it in a store, that someone had switched it. We flash back to it and she accused Briana, then Edgar. Demon looked surprised.

Pepe showed his crazy again. Esperanza canceled the party that night in favor of coffee at her place.

Demon could not believe that Briana could have done this. Jezabel became agitated. She knew both hated her, saying they wanted to kill her.

Aurora hugged Angel and Helena, saying she needed them.

JC told Cassandra he had to talk to her.

Helena told Aurora that Jezabel was in hospital.

Cassandra told JC to calm down. She touched his hand and... Patricia saw this and took a photo.

Vampi and Guagüi went to Pintas. He said he would pay a visit to that traitorous woman.

Aurora decided to see Jezabel which surprised Angel. He said he was going to Maggie's place to meet with the guys. Patricia came in and after some sarcastic comments directed to Angel told Aurora that JC was cheating on her with Cassandra.

Neglected to add the bit about the 3 Amigos adding Pepe to their biz. This will probably backfire on them.
 

Angel/Aurora. Excellent recap, Urban. JC just keeps sabotaging his relationship with Aurora. Maybe he's the one who would really like to break it off. And Demian just keeps slandering Aurora. What a jerk! He's also a poor sport. Angel is probably right that Jezabel may have saved his life, though that was not her intention.



 

Thanks Urban, that was a great read. JC is almost a nicer version of Demon. They’re both sabatoging their relationships. I did have more respect for JC earlier, but now he’s wanting Aurora to see him and only him.
I would think there’s more that two people that want to see Jezabel gone. But loved that Demon was surprised when she mentioned Edgar.
Patricia is someone that likes to cause problems in other people’s lives. How did Antonio ever put up with her.

Angel / Aurora #84

I completely agree about Patricia. She loves to create problems for others. That gives her a feeling of power that she never got from her acting career or her marriage. I think there was a line many episodes ago where Antonio said that she got worse over time.

However, she has recently shown that there is a line she can't cross. Not because she doesn't hate the person, but because she isn't quite arrogant enough to think she can get away with murder.

Jezabel is just beginning to reap what she has sown. She and Patricia could seriously screw up their next move and others are getting wise to them.

Demon is the most difficult to figure out. Jezabel plays him like Itzhak Perlman plays the violin. He knows she is a manipulator but that doesn't protect him from her, so he has turned out exactly as she planned. If he were half as smart as he thinks he is he would have left her zip code when entering college and never gone back to live with her. No mansion or castle would be big enough. What I think just happened is that he fears losing Edgar who is the only person close to being a friend despite how he treats him.

I don't want to see JC with Cassandra despite the likelihood of Aurora ending up with Antonio. However I want him to survive and be part of Jezabel's downfall.
