According to "People en español" (12/24/24), after "El precio de amarte" finishes its run, Univision will be showing only TWO telenovelas a night in the 8 EST and 9 EST time slots. As of 1/14/25, the 10 EST time slot will be occupied by a new true crime show entitled "Código de investigación."
 

Juana #61 part 1 of 3

The baby’s baptism begins. David and Dani are together, Enriqueta and Felipe look at each other across the aisle and Jennyignors Salvador.

Rogelio is late for the meeting. A couple of the shareholders whisper that without Elvira’s shares the merge won’t happen. Paula yells at them that it will happen, her father is not a fool. The name Rubio will disappear. Meanwhile in another office Rogelio is trying to convince Elvira he knows what’s best for her shares. She only wants justice and the guilty person to pay. Rogelio mentions Gabriel but Elvira tells him it’s him.

Viviana enters Manuel’s office. She tells him Elvira and her lawyer are in his father’s office.

Gabriel holds the baby as he’s baptized. David and Daniare the Godparents.

Rogelio is trying to convince Elvira Gabriel is guilty. She says the detective thinks otherwise. He then says David and Castillo are in on it. She’s not selling her shares to anyone but if she does it will be to Gabriel.

Salvador says Gabriel needs to go. He promises Juana he will fight to be back with them. He wants her to enjoy their son’s baptism. As Pacheco puts handcuffs on him at the car Camila appears. She wanted to see him but isn’t allowed in the jail. She tells him it’s her brother that’s protecting him.

Rogelio tells Paula they will still merge because they had Elvira’s vote before. Manuel comes in wondering what’s happening as all the shareholders are in the hall wondering what’s going on.

David lets Enriqueta into the party. He asks about Carlos and she says something with the shareholders. He tells her about Elvira. Next Chismo and Yadira enter the party. Jenny doesn’t want Yadira there but she needs to talk to Jenny. She was the aggressor a d Salvador had no interest in her. Nothing happened. He was in love with Jenny. Dani was telling Juana how good the three of them look together but Juana is missing Gabriel.

Elvira is talking to Carlos. She feels bad for blaming Gabriel, she was blinded by grief. Carlos says Gabriel will understand. Elvira says Rogelio planned to wipe out Rubio but he can’t do it without her shares.

Rogelio and Paula are wondering how David had the information he gave to Elvira. They look at Manuel. He stands up and says yes, it was him. He doesn’t want to be a part of the feud and it’s turned his father into an assassin. In the hallway Viviana is worried. Paula doesn’t know what’s going on but she says they should be afraid of Rogelio.

FUGITIVAS #69 Part 1

Being used by someone you truly care about is a betrayal of your kindness, not a reflection of your worth - Unknown

Dario continues to try and comfort a heartbroken Matias. Erick comes in and realizes he walked in at the wrong moment. Dario stops him from leaving and tells him about Frida being arrested. Matias again screams it is his fault!

Nico enters Amanda’s office followed by Ismael. I believe they know Frida is arrested; Montse is mentioned too… Nico looks angry at something Ismael says as Amanda sort of smirks.

Dario, Matias and Erick give the bad news to Lorena. Dario asks her to call Alejandro; she does so immediately but gets his voice mail.

Marta arrives at the police station. She sees Patricio walk by at the other end of the hallway and makes herself scarce by quickly slipping into a seat. Patricio is brought into an office where a devastated Frida sits…

Lorena tries to comfort Dario as tears stream down his face; he slides down the wall, ending up sitting on the floor. Lorena pulls out her phone and we see she has texted Montse (still enduring Arturo’s dinner) and Lisset, still helping with the party. Montse excuses herself from the table and talks with Lisset to quickly formulate a plan.

A few minutes later, Lisset calls Montse who gets up from the table…She tells them her father was in an accident. Charo, overhearing Lisset’s end of the call is not sympathetically inclined. Lisset tells Charo family comes first.

Marta has left the station and is hiding behind a post as she watches Patricio load a handcuffed Frida into a police car. Undaunted, Marta hails a cab and tells the driver to follow that car!

Charo texts someone (Frida likely) with a few choice words.

A concerned Facundo is rushing Montse to the bus stop.

FUGITIVAS #69 Part 2

At a red light, Marta gets out of the cab, runs up to Patricio’s car and actually gets in the front seat! She begs Patricio to help as Frida freaks out in the back. Patricio pulls over to the side. She tells him Frida is the friend she had told him about. Frida is very ill; she is dying and shouldn’t spend what time she has left in jail. She begs him to help and grabs his hand. A gamut of emotions flood across his face; he is torn between anger, incredulity and compassion. He looks uncertain.

Alejandro arrives and Lorena flies into his arms. Alejandro calls someone to ask them to find out what happened to Frida.

Facundo takes Montse to the bus station; naturally he wants to go inside with her and make sure she gets off safely. He has such good intentions and you can tell it is breaking her heart. He kisses her hand as they hug and say their farewells. She goes into the station as he looks after her; they wave goodbye.

Frida realizes what Marta is doing is wrong and says “basta”. Marta pleads with Patricio as the internal war between his heart and his conscience continues to rage. Even though he says no, she tries to gently persuade him. Patricio mentions Dario (who of course had nothing to do with this) sending Frida into a tizzy. Amanda calls but he ignores the call.

Lisset arrives back at the bar telling them Montse was at Arturo’s having dinner with Facundo. They are incredulous and Matias is still taking blame. Erick brings tortas, bless him. Alejandro gets a call with the bad news about Frida.

Nico, Amanda and Ismael confab. Amanda is concerned she can’t reach her father. She tries again but he doesn’t answer. Why isn’t he answering she frets. Ismael makes a call…

All of a sudden Marta and Frida walk into Oasis as everyone stares. Matias rushes up telling Frida how sorry he is, Frida collapses in Lorena’s arms as Lisset and Montse join the group hug. Erick smiles and Dario moves forward and he and Frida hug each other tightly and kiss lovingly.

Ismael and company are in his office when all of a sudden a bloody Patricio walks in. What happened papa an alarmed Amanda asks. Nico is contemptuous; I’m not sure what Patricio said to explain himself.

Frida says Marta saved her. Marta interjects, explaining what happened with Patricio. Dario looks thunderstruck. Everyone is touched by Marta’s selfless actions. She effuses softly that Patricio is a wonderful man.

FUGITIVAS #69 Part 3 of 3

Patricio insists he is all right as Amanda urges him to sit. He talks about there being traffic and invents some sort of story that he was assaulted and hit over the head. Nico says this is ridiculous but Ismael defends Patricio as Amanda looks on worriedly. Nico looks like he smells something fishy; he and Amanda leave. She returns with some sort of compress and Patricio says he is going back to his office.

Marta is inconsolable as she cries in the bathroom…

Vero asks Florencia if she knows what day it is. She obviously doesn’t but I believe Vero says it’s the anniversary of JPs death. It is a very difficult time for her; Florencia does not have a scintilla of sympathy.

Patricio has a flashback to what actually occurred. In his car, he takes off his badge and takes out his gun. He hits himself in the head, wincing and crying out a bit from the pain. Back in the present, Ismael comes in and Patricio says he will see him tomorrow. Ismael stares.

The girls have donned their wigs ready to work (? really)

Patricio enters his apartment with a heavy heart (and a hurting head). He recalls unhooking Frida’s handcuffs as she gets out and she and Marta take off down the street. Gracias Marta says. Patrico holds his head in his hands and cries.

Nico starts in on Florencia about the baby being his. No it’s Ismael’s she insists. She tries to leave and he stops her in a threatening manner.

Ismael gets home and gets a voice mail from Vero, about commemorating Juan Pablo’s death.

Patricio is in pjs making himself a cup of coffee when his phone rings. Marta starts by asking he forgive her for bothering him. She thanks him for everything telling him how wonderful he is. Muchas gracias she says gratefully, for me and for Frida. When he doesn’t answer she says “Patricio?” His cold response is that she is never to call him again! He hangs up the phone a la Sergio Sendel by tossing it across the couch.

An anguished Marta asks herself “porque?” Viewerville senses she very well knows the answer.

As usual, much dialogue eluded me but I hope I got the gist of what occurred. Kindly fill in what I missed or misinterpreted.

Considering there are several more TNs wrapped and ready to go I find that surprising. True crime shows are not something I care to watch. I wonder if ratings are down??

Diana, thanks. The ability of Marta to walk up to a police car and jump in the front seat astounded me. Most cars have automatic locks and I would think police cars especially would. I guess the story Patricio concocted about being cold locked and losing consciousness is credible due to the insecure passenger door! I personally think Frida should have returned to jail. I can't imagine bootlegged videotapes carry a long sentence. In fact she should never have left in the first place, or turned herself in when they were giving amnesty. I would hope Antonio could get a reduction in her sentence given her health diagnosis.

Nico mentioned that Frida may lead them to Montse and Lisette. He is on the right track. He now knows the market they shop at since she was detained.

I think Vero is having a memorial mass for Juan Pablo at 7 p.m.

Yeah, the girls going to work shocked me, especially Frida. She really needs to lay low. I think they plan to make their escape across the border tomorrow. Erik is going with them, likely not Dario, Antonio has work to take care of. They plan to go to Guatemala on the route Lorena took, I think. I'm sure Jarifa will add a lot more ....

Excellent recap Diana!

That quote said it all. How could Marta ask anyone to commit a crime let alone a man she supposedly was in love with? Honestly, it sickened me seeing Patricio destroying himself by becoming a criminal on her account. I was happy that he told her to never contact him again.

Loved the "a la Sergio Sendel."

EXTRAS

In his visit to Vero, Nico demands a paternity test because he knows that the baby is his. Of course, Vero tells him it isn't happening. He stops her from leaving and informs her that he can be the worst enemy she has ever had. He orders her to get the test done.

The FUGITIVAS, in their wigs, all agree that the time has come for them to leave. They resurrect the plan to go to Guatemala with Lorena and keep going . Lorena says she cannot see Alejandro coming with them right now because he just got a job as a legal advisor. She is sure he will come once they are settled. Lorena adds that there has been no advances made in her case. Lisset says that Eric will be going with them. Frida admits she will have to forget Darío. They all agree to leave early the next morning. There is no reason to wait any longer.
 

Juana part 2

Dani’s mom is talking to the two women about David and Dani. She tells them he treats Dani so well, a nice young man. They mention so many are paired up. Just then Margarita answers the door to Pacheco. She’s very happy to see him. Jenny asks about Salvador. Pacheco says he dropped him at the door, he didn’t want to make Jenny feel uncomfortable. Jenny runs out calling his name. He asks if all is well at the party. She says he needs to come inside. Her mother loves him. Juana wants him there. Salvador asks about her. She says she’s hurt. He knows that. He’s ready to drive away and Jenny opens the door and takes his hand.

Rogelio is calling Manuel a traitor. He then adds Camila and Elvira as being against him. Manuel tells him Camila is his friend and he better not hurt her. Rogelio pushes him down and starts punching him. Camacho pulls Rogelio off Manuel and takes Manuel out. The lawyer is there too. I hope she gets disbarred or worse when this is over.

Jenny is telling Salvador that Yadira talked to her. He gets upset but Jenny says it was her fault, she jumped to conclusions. He says she saw what was on the video, she didn’t jump to conclusions. She loves him. He says he’s not one for rings or jewelry and he gets down on one knee. He asks her to marry him and he’s holding up a badge on a blue case. She says yes! But is disappointed that no one is on the street to see. He’s almost crying. Inside the party Josefina asks Juana if she’s seen her mother. Guess she’s upset she’s doing all the work as she had a tray of food.

Viviana is wiping Manuel’s bloody nose while he goes on about his father being a manipulator, a lousy husband, a lousy father and a selfish man. She tries to get him to calm down. Camila comes in to tell him Rogelio, Camacho and Paula just left and she hid in the bathroom. Carlos comes in to see what happened.

At the party, Josefina is passing out food. Enriqueta and Felipe are talking. He asks about Carlos. Someone had to be at work. Felipe says he’s very noble. Enriqueta says yes and a hard worker. Felipe says he’s like you. You’re both equal. Jenny comes in saying she has an announcement. She didn’t win the lottery but she won the lottery of love. She and Salvador are getting married. When Josefina asks when Salvador says tomorrow. Josefina thinks they need a week to buy a dress. Hugs and kisses all around.

Paula is trying to calm her dad down as they enter the house. She’s yelling about Gabriel, the photographer, the baby and all that’s hers. A,paro comes in wanting to know what’s wrong. He calls Manuel a traitor. Amparo says not to talk about her son that way and he slaps her. She tells him to get out of her house or she’ll call the police. He says, with pleasure. Paula comforts her mom.

Our three, along with Manuel, Claudio and Camila are sitting around a table talking about what’s happening. They still don’t have proof. Manuel can give them proof about the bacteria.

The family is cleaning up and talking about Jenny’s marriage. Memo mentions Margarita and Cesar. She says he’s a good friend as she looks at her dad. The wedding will apparently be the next day.

Salvador and Pacheco are talking. The judge is doing Salvador a favor by letting them marry to,or row. Pacheco mentions asking Margarita’s dad for her hand. Salvador says they’re young, spend time getting to know each other. Pacheco says her dad’s health is bad.

Memo tries to get Ramon to go to sleep. Ramon doesn’t want to. Memo says he has to, Jenny’s getting married tomorrow. He asks Memo to tell the family to have Felipe give her away if he can’t.

Kat, I was strictly concentrating on Marta having the nerve to get into Patricio's car without considering how absurd it was that Marta opened the door so easily! Great point.

Yes, I sensed Nico is putting two and two together...

Completely agree that Frida should have tried to keep a low profile; at least for a NY minute! But now that they are leaving tomorrow (thank you for noting that), I guess it wasn't too important???

OT UNIVISION

Diana, I was surprised when I read that about the novelas being cut for a true crime show, too. It looks like Telemundo has been down to one novela (La familia) per night with three hours of a reality show competition (Exatlón) preceding it. According to an article in Deadline, Univision used to air different kinds of programming in the late night slot prior to 2011. Promises to be interesting.

"Lorena adds that there has been no advances made in her case". I appreciate your pointing this out; she's right, the needle hasn't moved at all has it??
 
If Florencia really thought Nico was just going to take her word about her baby's paternity, she isn't as bright as I've been giving her credit for. She seems more annoyed than worried about what he will do. Be afraid; be very afraid.

I have a feeling the girls won't be leaving on a jet plane as they've planned. I think their window of opportunity to escape has closed.

Juana #61 part 3

Camila is at home when Rogelio and Camacho come in. Camacho is going to take her mom to a hotel. Camila tells Rogelio she didn’t know Manuel was telling on them. Rogelio says he found out her brother was protecting Gabriel from being killed.

Manuel is leaving it his mom wants him to stay Viviana says he’ll be safe with her. Paula is fine with him going as he didn’t want their justice. He says no he didn’t, that’s not justice. He then mentions that Gabriel was at the baptism of his baby. That shuts Paula up.

Rogelio wants to know why she had Gabriel protected. It was because Gabriel is more of a man than he is. He punches her hard in the face, her nose is bleeding. He turns away. He may be removing his belt. She hits him on the head with a bottle. He goes down and she grabs her purse and runs. He calls her a dog and says she’s dead.

A,paro comes down and thinks Paula should try and sleep. She’s angry because Gabriel is happy with his family. Amparo wants to take her to the doctor but Paula is mad that she threw her dad out. She leaves the house. If Amparo were smart she’d call the police.

Jenny needs to buy a white dress. Josefina says she can wear multicolored. They’re getting ready to go dress shopping. Felipe comes in with a tray and says Ramon ate it all. Juana thinks that’s a sign it’s going to be a good day.

Gabriel has to return to the general population as his wound is healed.

Juana asks Margarita to watch the baby. Salvador and Claudio arrive. Gabriel’s appearance before the,judge is two days away and Juana is nervous. Margarita takes the baby for a walk. Paula is in her car and gets out and follows them.

Claudio tells Juana she needs to testify to everything she saw that night, and bring her camera. Salvador says it’s very important to find the missing UBS.

Margarita is in the market. Memo admires the baby, the they both turn away.

Camila is at Enriqueta’s. She doesn’t know where her mom is or if she’s ok. Rogelio knows her brother was protecting Gabriel so now they’re both in danger at the jail.

Gabriel returns to the general population and gets a lot of stares before he sits alone on a bench.

Claudio says they’ll practice her testimony before she goes before the judge. He tells her to just be calm and tell the truth. He leaves. Salvador asks about the baby. When Juana says Margarita took him out he doesn’t think it’s a good idea to be out without security.

Meanwhile Pepita shows up as Margarita is looking at flowers. They walk to another stall further from the baby. Paula walks over to the carriage and takes the baby and walks off.

I'm glad Manuel has turned on the his dad. Immunity for his tainting the beer is good as I've liked him most of this series.

It was pretty obvious Paula was going to kidnap the baby, although initially I was worried she was going to plow them down with her car.

Camila needs to go to the police about her mother. She should have gone to Enriqueta with her mother right away and removed herself from Rogelio's apartment.

Kat, I also thought she would plow them down. Manuel was a big help even though he said he was on his dad’s side. And Viviana really seems to like him. I wondered why Camila was just sitting in that apartment knowing Rogelio would be able to find her. She still thinks she’ll end up with Gabriel but she did help Paula with the plot against Juana. So I can’t imagine why she thinks she’ll end up with him.

FUGITIVAS #70 Part 1

Three may keep a secret if two of them are dead – Benjamin Franklin

Previously: A pajama clad Patricio is making a cup of coffee when his phone rings; he reluctantly answers it. Marta starts by saying she is sorry to bother him and then proceeds to thank him for everything telling him how wonderful he is. She is heartfelt in her appreciation; muchas gracias she says gratefully, for me and for Frida. When she is greeted by silence, she says “Patricio?” His cold response is that she is never to call him again! He hangs up the phone a la Sergio Sendel by tossing it across the couch.

Tonight: After, an anguished Marta asks herself “porque?” (which is inexplicable as because of her, Patricio has betrayed his oath of office and become someone who broke the law rather than enforce it.) Frida comes in and Marta bares her heart and soul. She seems to indicate the important thing is Frida as the two hug and cry.

Erick is admitting patrons to the hopping Oasis. The camera pans to each Fugitiva as each looks pensive, soaking in the surroundings knowing they will leave; Matias gives Lisset puppy dog eyes. At the end of the evening, the girls gather to prepare to start the next chapter of their lives which will begin the following morning. They rue how much they will miss Marta, Dario and of course Matias. Smiles, fears and tears combine as a group hug ensues.

“Que pasa” Dario asks as arrives seeing the girls’ arms locked around each other. Montse blows him off and as they start to leave, Dario calls Frida back. What is it she asks? His answer is to take her in his arms and kiss her passionately. He loves her with all of his heart. She kisses him with great ardor but her expression is filled with longing, tinged with regret. The next morning she slips out of his bed, putting her sneakers on, quietly shutting the door behind her. She returns to the communal bedroom where everyone is ready. “Vamanos” they say, picking up their luggage. Lorena slips a note for Marta on the dresser. As they start to exit, Frida hesitates as they ask her what’s wrong. All of a sudden, Marta appears asking what is going on! Marta is extremely upset and expresses her reservations about their leaving fearing they will be caught by the police.

Florencia calls Vincente and tells him about the memorial for Juan Pablo. Given his feelings for JP it is no surprise he reacts coldly and distantly.

Patricio pours himself a cup of Joe and thinks of something Amanda had said to him…

Arturo pours himself an OJ and asks Charo for a cup of coffee. She is unresponsive and when he annoyedly calls her on it, she tells him she is mourning the one-year anniversary of Juan Pablo’s death. They have words and she stares darkly after her.

We see the girls are back in their bedroom as Lorena cries about the situation and her hermana. Frida tries to comfort her. Although I couldn’t follow their conversation, Lorena thanks her for being her friend.

FUGITIVAS #70 Part 2

Dario comes into the kitchen and kisses his mother. She ugly cries telling him how badly she feels about Patricio; she’s lost him. He hugs her and kisses her hand telling her how sorry he is. Mother and son hug tightly.

Montse calls Facundo asking how he is. Concerned about you is his answer; how is your father? In (genuine) tears, she tells him she has come to a decision. Her father’s condition is serious. Due to the gravity of the situation, she is going to move home. Given the circumstances, it makes sense that they break up. She sobs heartbrokenly.

I can only guess as to what happened during this next critical scene. Patricio sits down with Ismael, his conscience seemingly getting the best of him. I believe he either resigns or asks for time off (he still has his badge; wouldn’t he have had to turn it in if he resigned?) Ismael asks him to think about things and give it time. Amanda comes in and asks Ismael where her father is. He tells her to sit down and says Patricio is home and to give him some space. We next see Patricio taking out one of those puzzles that have a million pieces that are impossible to put together! Talk about going from sad to depressed!

Erick learns he will be staying here with his princess.

Lisset and Erick are out for a walk when we see a woman on the other side of the street stop to watch them. “Lisset Parra” the woman says to herself as her eyes widen.

Lisset knocks on the door of the Marquez household (I’m thinking to ask for her job back) but Charo is rude to her (no surprise there).

Ismael and Nico have an exchange about the one year memorial for Juan Pablo. Ismael seems to indicate it isn’t important.

Lucre appears to be in the infirmary and is stewing in her misery. The doctor tells her how important therapy is. I’m not interested she screams. Shaking, she says she isn’t ill and hops out of bed. What about your son the doctor finally asks in desperation. Finally! Something that seems to give her pause. A woman later visits her who seems to be trying to encourage her.

Lisset and Erick finish their walk. The woman who was spying on them (Wikipedia identifies her as Eréndira) surprises Lisset and tells her she needs her for an upcoming “job”.

Juana #62 part 1 of 3

Margarita notices that the baby is gone. She yells for Don Memo. Everyone in the marketplace heads out to look. She calls either the police or Juana.

Gabriel watches as a man with a knife wound is led across the prison yard. An older man tells Gabriel that that is Bruno, who was protecting him. There’s a price on his head. Gabriel remembers Camila telling him about her brother.

All the neighbors surround Paula and Margarita calls for Juana. She and Salvador come out and Juana says if you do anything to my baby it will be the last thing you do.

Camila is at Rogelio’s house. Manuel appears and she tells him his father almost killed her. And he took her mother. She spent the night at Enriqueta’s.

All the neighbors surround Paula and threaten and yell at her. Even Pepito is ready to do battle. Paula claims she has the right to the baby. Salvador calms her, Juana gets the baby back and Paula is arrested for kidnapping. All the neighbors cheer and applaud Salvador. Juana thanks everyone, in this neighborhood we’re all like family.

Camila tells Manuel his father belongs in jail, Manuel needs to confess about the bacteria. He agrees but says she also has to confess that she obtained Francisco’s shares illegally through Rogelio’s lawyer so he could control those shares. She nods her head.

Rogelio, with an ice pack on his head, tells Camacho that those two are traitors. Look for them and bring them to me.

Our three are talking at the office. They feel Rogelio will not give up easily. Then Enriqueta tells them Camila’s brother was protecting Gabriel in the jail. They wonder why, Enriqueta thinks Camila is in love with Gabriel.

Margarita feels terrible and blames herself. Juana says the only one to blame is Paula. Josefina and Jenny come in with a dress. Ramon puts a finger to his lips.

Paula doesn’t like the face of Pacheco. He says he has to guard her and it’s the only face he has. Salvador is telling Quiroz that Paula kidnapped the baby. Quiroz says she probably just wanted to get to know her husband’s baby. Salvador mentions all the neighbors posting videos on social media. They will look like fools if they don’t charge her.

Camacho and another guy drive up as Manuel gets out of his car at the brewery. They tell him to get in their car.

Paula doesn’t want to sign a paper. Rogelio comes in and wonders what this foolishness is. Salvador tells him. The lawyer says she was very upset about her husband. Salvador says how much worse it will be for her if she doesn’t sign. Rogelio makes her sign. I hope it was a confession.

Josefina asks Margarita and Ramon what’s wrong. They tell her nothing but she can feel bad energy in the room. Margarita says she’s worried that her dad won’t feel well for the wedding. Memo and Felipe come in with lots of flowers for the wedding. They agree Jenny will be so happy. Juana and Jenny are on the bed. Juana says the dress is beautiful. Jenny says she always dreamed of wearing white at her wedding. She wonders why Juana’s hands are so cold. First Juana says something happened. Then she says it would have been nice to have a double wedding. But the Virgin has a plan. Felipe brings his dad a cup of coffee. They share happy memories of the past. Felipe is sorry for the way he treated his dad when he came back. Ramon wants him to be as happy as Jenny. He’ll never find anyone like Salvador. Ramon thinks he already has. He wants all of them to be happy with someone special. Felipe accuses him of playing Cupid. They hug.

There are so many great uncredited “guest” stars in this. Eréndira is played by Luz Ramos who was Mireya in El Amor no tiene receta. Her yet unnamed friend is Magda Karina (Vivir de amor) who played Gala Montes’ (Rebeca’s) “adopted” mother! I wonder if we will ever find out who Oscar Bonfiglio is playing (Vincente’s boss) 😊

Juana #62 part 2

Pacheco and Salvador are talking about people like Rogelio being protected by officials like Quiroz. Pacheco wonders if the restriction order will really work. Salvador says it will because if Paula goes near the baby or Juana Quiroz will have to arrest her.

Rogelio, Paula and the lawyer are leaving the police station when Camacho calls to say he’s got Manuel. He needs to hold him until Rogelio gets there.

Viviana is worried about Manuel. He should be there and he’s not answering her calls or texts.

A guard brings Bruno food. Bruno gives him money and a baggie. White powder maybe. The guard pours the drink on his food.

Enriqueta and David call Camila to ask if she knows where Manuel is. She says he should be there, he had something very important to tell them.

Josefina thinks Felipe looks sad and wants to know what’s wrong. He says he’s happy. Josefina knows he was talking to his dad. Yadira comes in and Josefina tells her they’re very busy and don’t have time to visit. She came to do Jenny’s hair and makeup.

The guard walks up to Gabriel and puts the baggie in his cell. It’s a phone and a note to meet tonight.

Josefina brings Yadira to Jenny. At first Jenny acts cool towards her but then says she’s joking. If she hadn’t told her the truth she wouldn’t be marrying Salvador.

Gabriel is sitting in his bunk when the lights go off. He has a “ weapon”, something like a screwdriver.

Camila is sure Rogelio has something to do with Manuel’s disappearance. Carlos doesn’t think so. Paula tells him he was going to testify that his dad made him put bacteria in the beer. She also tells Carlos he has no idea of what Rogelio is capable of.

Manuel is tied up in a chair. He dad calls him a traitor, he calls him Manuel Rubio. Manuel tells him he’s sick of him. Rogelio says if you’re sick of me you must be sick of life. He puts a gun to his head.

Salvador is ready for the wedding to begin. It’s at the Bravo house. Enriqueta walks in and Felipe is speechless. Jenny is all done up and wearing a short wedding dress. I had to look twice because I thought they were shorts! Ramon and Josefina walk behind her as they enter the room. Ramon puts her hand in Salvador’s.

Carlos always suspected Rogelio was behind it. Camila needs to talk to Claudio. But they still don’t have proof.

Meanwhile Rogelio still has the gun to Manuel’s head. Manuel can’t believe he would kill his own son. Rogelio says if you leave me as a father I’ll leave you as my son. He pulls the trigger but there’s no bullets. He laughs and says he’ll teach him to be a man. He starts beating him.

A guard unlocks Gabriel’s cell. Then he lets an older bearded man come in and hands him something.

FUGITIVAS #70 Part 3 of 3

Amanda calls Patricio and asks him what is going on. “Papa?” she says gently when he doesn’t answer. He quickly hung up as tears spring to her eyes.

Erick comes back with sammies as Lisset sits with her back to him. She turns around and as her hands shake, tells him what happened. No she has no intention of aiding her. “Maldita” she says as she bites her nails; I think something is said about three days.

Ismael tells Amanda about Juan Pablo’s memorial service. She murmurs she is sorry and puts her hand on his. He thanks her and puts his on hers. They have a moment but both “come to” quickly and remove their hands.

At the service, Vero has her hankie handy. Charo, Florencia, Ismael, Arturo and Nico are there. Flor grabs Ismael’s arm.

Gabriela isn’t going to the service. She tells Vincente he should go; it’s your family she says.

Eréndira and another friend enter the Oasis, Eréndira giving Erick (“guapo”) an approving look. Lisset sees them and stares. The women recognize Frida as well. Later they confront Lisset.

At the house, things don’t get off to an auspicious start. Vincente announces Gabriela isn’t coming to which Vero bares her fangs saying just as well the sister of Juan Pablo’s murderer doesn’t come. Vincente angrily puts Vero in her place. Drinks anyone? Mineral water for Florencia, whiskey for Ismael, wine for Vero.

Nico toasts to Juan Pablo; everyone drinks except Vincente who looks around darkly. Arturo says something about Juan Pablo being like his son. Not so fast buster. To everyone’s shock, Vero interrupts saying something akin to there ended up being bad blood between Arturo and Juan Pablo.

I am so sorry; I was beside myself that I could not understand the majority of dialogue tonight. I had so looked forward to this too…I guessed on quite a few things. Kindly add to and/or correct what I got wrong.

Another great recap, Diana, thank you for that and another great quote. It is so hard figuring out who is playing who. I wish they had thumbnail photos for all of the actors in these lesser roles. It sure would help.

Patricio thinks back on Amanda telling him that, as he told her, in their business there are successes and failures and we cannot allow that to make us give up.

Arturo tells Charo about the memorial service for JP. She isn't planning on going. Arturo isn't going to give her a choice and insists that she goes.

Patricio tells Ismael that after yesterday's occurrence with Frida, he thinks it is time for him to retire. Ismael tries to talk him out of it by offering him as much time off as he needs: a week or two, a month? Then they will talk. He tells Patricio about how much he depends on him and only him. As his boss and his friend, he doesn't want him to leave.

Lisset goes to see Charo to return her keys to the house.

A desperate Lucre is counseled by an ex-addict who gives her hope and tells her that all of the suffering she is going through in her withdrawal is worth it. She adds that after she stopped taking drugs, she didn't feel any better for two weeks. Later, we see Lucre still suffering but now she has decided to stay and stick it out.

Lisset tells Erick all about Eréndira and why she is afraid of her. She once beat her up on jail and sent her to the prison hospital for three days. He promises to protect her.

A clearly depressed and distrubed Ismael tells Amanda what a bad day he is having: it is the anniversary of JP's death and her father announced that he wants to retire. He hurriedly tells her that they need an informant in Michoacán to help in tracking down a FUGITIVA. She PUTS HER HAND ON HIS and tells him to calm down and that they can take care of that tomorrow. She addds there are always complicated days like today. He PUTS HIS HAND ON HERS and thanks her. They realize what they just did and withdraw their hands. Amanda will see about getting an informant tomorrow.

Eréndira arrives at the Oasis with a friend. Erick invites them in. Eréndira fills her friend in about all the FUGITIVAS that are working there. Lisset sees her and Eréndira waves. Lisset tells her and her friend to leave. They are not welcome.Eréndira has no intention on leaving now that hey have found her hiding place. She would like a drink. Lisset threatens to have her thrown out and Eréndira threatens to call the police and give them all up if she does. Eréndira tells her she is not only going to serve her drinks but also she is going to work for her, too.

Back at Arturo's Vero is badmouthing Gabriels for being the sister of JP's murderer. Vicente will not put up with that and threatens to throw her out if she continues. Arturo wants to talks about getting closer to arresting Lorena but Ismael makes it clear he is not into talking about work. They all toast JP and finding his murderer. (Nico uses the feminine form of murderer so we know he is thinking about Lorena) Vero asks Arturo to tell them how he felt about JP. Arturo says he loved JP like a son. He hopes that JP also considered him as a father. Arturo will always miss him. Vero tells him to stop telling stories and to tell them what he really felt for JP. Arturo says EXCUSE ME . . . Vero adds that before JP died, JP and him were getting along terribly. JP didn't even want to go to the construction company so he didn't have to run into him. So, she doesn't get how he could say they they loved each other like a father and son. Before he died, JP told her that he deeply hated him.
 

Juanan#62 part 3

The official conducts the wedding. Jenny looks beautiful.

The man comes into the cell and starts stabbing a mound on the bed. Gabriel is behind him and throws him up against the wall the other prisoner is yelling to be let go. Gabriel calls for guards and two come and lead the guy away. Gabriel has hidden his weapon when a third guard comes and gets the other weapon out of the cell with his foot. He says thank me to Gabriel.

Felipe and Enriqueta sign as witnesses and Jenny and Salvador are pronounced man and wife. They kiss, then there’s much hugging and kissing by all.

Viviana and David go to Amparo’s looking for Manuel. His car is at the brewery but he never made it in.

The wedding continues. Ramon tries to get Felipe to approach Enriqueta, but he doesn’t. Pacheco wants to introduce himself to Ramon. He tells him he’s Cesar Pacheco. Ramon says the police officer.

Salvador carries Jenny into his apartment. Roses are on the floor. He tells her she can redecorate. Then he takes her to the most important room. There are flowers in a heart shape on the bed. They end up on the bed. Salvador gets a call from Pacheco. A witness for Gabriel wants a guarantee of protection.

Salvador is talking to Bruno and promising him protection when Amparo walks in to report the disappearance of her son and says Rogelio has harmed him.
Manuel is laying on the floor, badly beaten. Camacho says if this is what he can do to his own son imagine what he’s capable of.

Camila tells Claudio what Manuel did. Claudio says police are looking for him and Rogelio. They need his testimony. Camila says she’ll testify and tells him about the shares. He says she’ll can be charged, is she sure she wants to testify. She does. She wants to save Gabriel, her days are numbered.

Juana prays to the statue of the Virgin Mary. It’s the first day of the trial. Felipe is getting ready to leave but first he needs to see his dad. Margarita tells Josefina what a change in Felipe, from not wanting to talk to him to not leaving without talking to him. Ramon is by the window. Felipe asks him if he needs anything and begins to help him to bed. Ramon collapses on the floor. Felipe calls for Margarita.

So the girls prepare to leave the bedroom with their backpacks for luggage, room lit brightly, while Marta sleeps soundly through it all! No way does that happen in real life.

Patricio tells a Ismael he wants to resign. He feels he is too old for the job now after "losing" Frida. Ismael says he is his most trusted co worker. Take 2 weeks or a month and think about it. I don't accept your resignation. The jigsaw puzzle was a whopping 200 pieces. That is an easy one to finish.

I noticed Jarifa answered most of your questions. One thing I think was mentioned was Lisette was owed money for the past weeks work and I thought that was why she went back to the house, instead she gave Charo back the keys.

Once again they are roaming around town and being noticed by people. Lorena stayed hidden for a change. The plan for all 4 to escape together did seem risky to me, Marta had a good point about that.

I think the job Erendira has for Lisette is a bank robbery. Not only did she want drinks for her and her friend, she expects them to be on the house.

It's amazing how not understanding just one word can make such a difference! If only I had understood "retirement" everything would have made perfect sense. To be honest, that possibility just didn't occur to me.

I so enjoyed Ismael and Amanda "connecting"! They both felt it and I think this is the start of something special.

I so enjoy all of your savory details "(Nico uses the feminine form of murderer so we know he is thinking about Lorena)" which so enhance the storyline!

I didn't realize the exact reason Lisset went to see Charo but returning the keys makes sense as does retrieving her back pay had that been the case.

Good point about having the fugitivas all escape together was not a good idea. They are being recognized when just one of them is out and about right? Yes, Lorena stayed out of sight tonight....

Liz, the paper Paula had to sign was a restraining order. She can't be near Juana or the baby.

I think the brother gave the guard money and an ice pick type of weapon. I thought the guard then gave the pick to Gabriel, not a phone. Like you initially I thought it was drugs. I would have thought Bruno would have been in the infirmary from his wounds, seemed he also was stabbed in the stomach. I'm confused how he got an audience with Salvador. I didn't realize who he was, thought maybe it was Remy from the brewery wanting to spill some other dirt about Rogelio.

Now Jenny is married perhaps her and Juana's bedroom will get that deep clean it needed as Jenny moves her things to Salvador's and the missing thumb drive/ memory card will finally be found. You would have thought Juana would be having everyone tearing the house upside down to find it to save her beloved.....

Thanks Kat, I was hoping Paula signed a confesión but then Salvador said she’s be arrested if she went near them. Couldn’t think of the right word. I thought Gabriel put something flat under some stuff of his. Wasn’t sure what it was. Maybe that was the ice pick. I wonder if they have to make the weapons in prison, guess so. You’re probably right about it being Reny with Salvador. Since he’s Camila’s friend he would know what’s going on. And he did arrange it for them to be able to señal into the brewery. I couldn’t figure out how Bruno got out of prison to talk to him. I figure the doctor stitched up Bruno and sent him back to his cell. Yes, i agree, i would have been looking all over for the memory card. Todays the day the tribal starts and she hasn’t really looked. She doesn’t know it has that picture of Francisco with Rogelio, but she must realize it might have something. And Salvador Reminded her to try and find it. I guess if we wrote there shows they’d only be 10 or 20 episodes!

FUGITIVAS #71 Part 1

Whoever is trying to bring you down is already below you - Ziad K. Abdelnour

Previously: Nico toasts to Juan Pablo; everyone drinks except Vincente who looks around darkly. Vero turns to Arturo, asking he tell them how he felt about Juan Pablo. Arturo claims he loved Juan Pablo like a son and hopes Juan Pablo considered him as a father. Arturo will always miss him. In a stunning and shocking move, Vero demands he stop telling stories and tell them what he REALLY felt for Juan Pablo!!

Tonight: A stunned and angry Arturo manages to blurt out “EXCUSE ME” as spitfire and spiteful Vero tells the aghast assembled guests that before Juan Pablo died, he and Arturo were getting along like fire and water (my words, not hers). Juan Pablo didn’t even want to go to the construction company where he was bound to run into Arturo. Therefore, Vero doesn’t understand how Arturo could say they loved each other like father and son. Before he died, Juan Pablo told her he fervently hated Arturo! Charo is catching flies with her open mouth, Nico also looked shocked. Florencia tells her to calm down and Arturo calls Vero stupid. Vincente jumps on the band wagon and when Ismael opens his mouth Arturo jumps on him. Next, Arturo turns on Vero like a crazed animal. Ismael leads Vero away with a backward glance at Arturo.

Amanda visits Patricio: she is clearly concerned. Patricio doesn’t meet her glance but does tell her he and Amanda broke up. Why she asks? Patricio pulls a Greta Garbo; he wants to be alone. She kisses him on the cheek and leaves.

Vero mewls to Ismael in the kitchen as Florencia comes in to soothe her “good friend” who is still crying. Flor calls Nico in to take distraught Vero home. Nico is impactada but it appears he has little choice.

Amanda calls Marta and wants to see her.

Lisset serves Eréndira and friend, slamming the drinks down on the table. Eréndira manages to confront and insult all of the fugitvas (Montse almost starts to hyperventilate when she sees her). Erick seemingly wants to confront Eréndira…

Ismael suggests he and Florencia move to a larger house. Florencia misunderstands and thinks that she and Ismael will be “together”. He seems to dispel that notion quickly; everyone will have their own room. Roommates she asks stunned. He makes it clear they will not have that kind of relationship and kisses her on the cheek.

FUGITIVAS #71 Part 2

Charo looks at a picture of her and Juan Pablo; talking to herself she calls him “hijo”.

Lisset cries to the girls. Marta wakes up and asks what is going on; Lisset tells her and then Marta tells her not to worry.

The next morning Marta tells the girls Amanda called her.

Florencia comes down for breakfast, picking at some fruit. Charo talks about Vero.

Amanda meets up with Marta. She told her she met with her father and he told her they broke up. I don’t believe Marta offered much of an explanation other than to sing Patricio’s praises. Amanda shares her concern but again Marta seems noncommittal simply saying “lo siento”. She gets up and leaves.

Charo shows up at Alejandro’s. He looks surprised and definitely NOT happy to see her. Shockingly, Charo brings out the Terrenos Playa Dorada file. She asks him to explain some of the documents. He starts reading through the file. Over the course of their conversations, she tells him she overheard Ivan tell Arturo that it was difficult to make the land sale look legal!! She also tells him Lorena is innocent! Charo swears Arturo isn’t the murderer because he loved Juan Pablo like a son. Charo thinks Ivan is the murderer. She gives him her cell and he thanks her for confiding in him.

Marta leans against a building on her way home, eyes closed, upset. She walks on.

Dario enters the kitchen and asks for a cup of coffee. Everyone is silent and Dario asks what’s up. Frida is left alone with Dario.

Lisset cries on Erick’s shoulder (so to speak). Marta arrives in the kitchen and talks with Dario and Frida. Frida asks him to listen to his mother (whatever she said which I couldn’t interpret).

Eréndira and her shadow show up. Lisset cooly says hello as Marta joins them. They sit and drink and wave everyone away including Erick. Eréndira talks about the bank robbery Lisset will help her pull off. Lisset asks about cameras. Eréndira gets ugly threatening to rat her out to the police. Standing in a small group at the end of the bar, the girls and Erick tell her to be very careful. Erick seems determined to intervene and we see him walking out shortly after they leave.

Amanda doesn’t have much to tell Ismael about her father other than she met with Marta and things are bad. I believe he tells her that he and Florencia won’t be living as man and wife.

FUGITIVAS #71 Part 3 of 3

Eréndira gives instructions. Frieda puts a black bag and a gun on the table as Eréndira utters more threats.

Everyone is sitting around the kitchen table as Alejandro calls. He wants to meet Lorena but she says it’s impossible and tells him why.

Amanda calls Patricio who is in his pajamas! He is short and sharp with her but they end up sending each other besos over the phone.

Eréndira and her henchie drive Lisset to the bank. Erick followed them and we see him (barely) hiding behind a tree. The henchie is just the getaway driver; Eréndira and Elena will be doing the actual robbery. They don their ski masks and seeing a man who has just gained access to the gate, run up as Eréndira puts a gun to the back of his head and force their way in. They train the gun on the two workers as Eréndira and Lisset put stacks of cash in the bag. Outside, a guy on a bike tells the nameless henchie she can’t park there. She tries to get rid of him but he alights and starts to affix some sort of “boot” to the tire but she jumps out of the car and attacks him. Then the girls come out and Erick rushes over and spirits the girls away in the car. Eréndira berates her friend and tells Lisset to give her the gun.

Matias comes home. Everyone peppers him with questions: “how was school”, “how was futbol”. Why all the sudden interest he asks.

Alejandro tells Lorena that Charo came to him and what they discussed. Lorena corroborates that Castro was not invited to Arturo's event. Alejandro tells her about the rift between Juan Pablo and Arturo. Alejandro seems to confirm that it was Arturo killed Juan Pablo.

In the last scene, Eréndira and her friend are talking with Erick and Lisset somewhere away from the scene of the crime. Erick seemed to take credit for saving the day but if there was anything significant said, it was over my head.

I struggled as I only understood random words here and there. Every successive episode is getting harder. I left quite a bit open ended rather than trying to guess what was said (although I did do that a few times). Thank you for filling in what I missed and/or correct when I misspoke.

So it wasn't a bank they robbed. It was a business that pays people in cash. The guy that came up to the get away car seemed to have been a traffic warden . It looked like He pushed a cart kinda like the ones you use at home Depot when you get lumber and big items. I guess that was to carry the boots to lock the cars that were illegally parked.

While Vero has been banished to the kitchen to sober up, she tells Alejandro that she knows that something happened between Arturo and JP. Since Ismael was his best friend, she asks if he noticed anything that had changed with JP. Ismael says he seemed to not be doing well. She adds that he wasn't sleeping, was in a terrible mood and didn't want to go by the construction company. As Ismael asks why JP didn't want to go to the construction company in those final days, he is interrupted by Flo entering the kitchen.

Patricio tells Amanda that he and Marta broke up because they were arguing and it turns out that they have very different points of view.

Marta tells Amanda that her father is a great guy but cannot seem to be able to get over her past. No, she will not be talking to him to make him feel better. They agreed not to contact each other. It is over.

Marta seems to be surprised that Patricio was so affected by compromising who he was and his values to help her save Frida.

Darío tells his mother and the FUGITIVAS that he will put an end to Eréndira's plan by refusing their cooperation on their behalf. Marta has to talk him out of it explaining that Eréndira is not anyone who would back down and that she would call the police and turn them all in. Eréndira is dangerous. She makes him promise to not intercede and let things play out.

Amanda discusses Patricio with Ismael. He is surprised that her father suddenly wants to retire. He always said he was going to work until the end. She thinks that her father might need therapy he is so depressed! When she hears that Flo is not interested in living with Ismael as roomies and he is truly no longer interested in getting back with Flo, she smiles to herself.

Charo tells Alejandro that he was the only person she could trust with uncovering the truth about JP's death although she doesn't necessarily like him. That being said, they both share a vested interest in finding out the truth. She found the file with the Playa Dorada documents at JP's. She tells him that the documents are in relation to some properties at Playa Dorada. The documents must be very important because JP had them hidden. She overheard Arturo talking to Iván Castro saying that it must have taken a lot of work to make the sale agreement for the already mentioned properties appear legal.The properties belonged to JP's father Guillermo. She thinks they are hiding something. Alejandro has concluded from what she told him that JP discovered that Márquez cheated his father in the sale of those properties. He adds that would give Arturo and Iván a very serious motive to get rid of JP. She insists it had to be Iván but cannot remember if he was a the party where JP was killed. Alejandro will investigate. Charo also tells him that JP's father and Arturo were close lifelong friends. Guillermo supposedly committed suicide shooting himself on some ranch property he owned but anyone who knew him said it must have been an accident. After his demise, JP came to live with the Márquez family where he was treated as one of the family.

Eréndira has decided that they will rob a business that pays their workers in cash.

In the last scene back at her lair, Eréndira has decided that she cannot allow Lisset and Erick to leave because they know too much.

Patricio saying he and Marta broke up as they were "arguing and it turns out that they have very different points of view" didn't really explain much did it? But perhaps that was the point. Marta gave a more accurate version.

I'd bet Guillermo did not commit suicide. It seems so obvious either Ivan or Arturo killed Juan Pablo. I'm thinking perhaps we are being mislead? :)

Does anyone else find it odd that a year after someone passes his apartment still hasn't been cleared out. I wonder who is in charge of clearing up the estate and is paying the rent! I guess it could be a condo he owns and it is in probate, but it seems a common theme that places are left vacant after someone dies, be they rich or poor.

Juana #63 part 1 of 3

The family gathers around Ramon, begging him to wake up. Someone says to call an ambulance. He wakes and says he doesn’t want to stay.

Amparo is at the police station telling Salvador she knows Rogelio kidnapped her son. She’s afraid for her son because she said Rogelio destroyed everything. He thinks he’s a god. Meanwhile Reny sits, he looks like he’s in handcuffs. Salvador asks about two others but Amparo doesn’t know. Pascual comes in and Salvador mentions hiding stuff from the Fiscual so someone can testify.

Claudio is giving Gabriel advice for the trial when he tells him they tried to kill him in jail.

Juana, Josefina and Margarita are talking about how weak Ramon is. They had the baptism and the wedding. Juana thinks she should stay home as her mother will need her. What about Gabriel! Memo comes in and Josefina cries on his shoulder. Felipe went to tell Jenny. Felipe gets to Jenny’s apartment. She begins to show her around but he tells her there dad fainted. He’s at home and doesn’t want to go to the hospital.

Salvador tells Pacheco that the blood on Juana’s shoe matches Francisco’s. They are investigating Rogelio’s connections to Astro beer.

Camacho says something to Rogelio about his son. Rogelio tells him to get Camila and Remy because the trial is today and he doesn’t want any surprises.

Gabriel tells Claudio that Rogelio can pay these people in the jail. Claudio is going to see to his security and safety. Gabriel also wants help for Camila’s brother. He asks Claudio what are the chances of him being found innocent.

Manuel is on the floor asking for water. One of Rogelio’s men lift him into the chair.

Amparo is asking Paula about Manuel. She first says he’s probably with his girlfriend. Then she tells what happened at the brewery and how he’s a traitor. The Rubio’s deserve what they’re getting. And then she asks what about her, she was humiliated by her husband. He caused her pain, but that’s not important to her mom. Amparo didn’t seem sympathetic to her.

Claudio tells Gabriel he has to show the judge that Rogelio had more reason to kill Fansisco that Gabriel did. He will show the hate Rogelio had for Gabriel’s family. He has Reny, Manuel and Camila’s testimony of what Rogelio did, or had them do, to ruin the brewery.

Reny tells Camila her mother is in a safe place. He tells her he has two guards for protection because he’s going to testify against Rogelio.

Rogelio, his lawyer and another man are talking. The lawyers has the papers to be signed. Rogelio wants Gabriel to learn that his business is gone during the trial.

Amparo asks Luciana for help. Paula hasn’t been herself since her husband left her. Luciano knows Paula didn’t love Gabriel. Amparo says she’ll help him get Paula out of the country.

The doctor is at the Bravos house. There’s nothing they can do. They can either take Ramon to the hospital or keep him at home. Josefina says he’ll stay here in his house. Jenny and Felipe come in. She asks if her father’s going to die. He is. They need to say goodbye and let him go.

Juana #63 part 2

Jenny goes in to see Ramon. Margarita says he’s been asking for her. He tells Jenny he was happy to see her as a bride. She looked beautiful. Jenny is thankful he came home, and brought her a little sister. She’ll take care of her. Ramon says he’ll take care of them from above.

Claudio is telling Gabriel that Manuel’s testimony is crucial, as is Paula’s. Gabriel asks him to get Julian and Gerardo to guard Camila.

Luciano wants to help Paula. She’s filled with hate. She says Juana and the baby must be destroyed. Luciano doesn’t think so. He wants the old Paula back, he loves her. Paula says that Paula is gone.

Suzy and Inez are comforting Viviana, who is sure Manuel is dead.

Camacho takes a video of Reny entering the courthouse with two policemen. He calls Rogelio who tells him not to kill Reny, he’ll say where Camila is. Camila is on the phone with Enriqueta. She tells her that her mother contacted Reny. Enriqueta tells her to be careful.

Reny stops to to to Carlos and Enriqueta. They thank him.

Felipe is asking Ramon’s forgiveness. He was angry with Ramon. Ramon says there’s nothing to forgive. They both cry and say they love each other.

Enriqueta and Carlos talk to Elvira, who is with her lawyer. She wants justice for her son. David comes and tells them Juana’s grandfather is dying. Carlos tells Enriqueta to go.

The judge says there here to determine the guilt or innocence of Gabriel Rubio. He asks him to stand. Paula comes in and Gabriel watches her take a seat.

In Juana’s room Dani offers to help Juana look for the memory card. The priest has arrived at the house and Jenny starts crying. Josefina tells her it’s important to let her father leave in peace.

Quiroz questions Gabriel. He says he argued with Frasisco, the gun was in his office, the body on his land. No more questions. Claudio gets up and wonders why Gabriel didn’t get rid of the gun and the body in the months following the killing. He wonders how on all those acres of land the body was found so quickly. He says Rogelio did it because of a family feud. Quiroz keeps interrupting. The judge hopes Claudio isn’t wasting his time.

Rogelio has reporters in his office. He announces that Astro beer has acquired Rubio beer. He and the Astro guy sign the papers. The staff is watching on a laptop.

Reny tells how he was ordered not to deliver beer. Quiroz says this has nothing to do with the trial It’s a distraction. Paula gets up and defends her dad because the Rubio’s killed her grandfather. Quiroz doesn’t look happy.

So they protect Reny before the trial but no protection after. I realize the police are a bit hamstrung with the crooked chief, but Gabriel perhaps also could have helped him. I don't think Reny was handcuffed at the police station. Diverting shipments probably isn't even a punishable offense in the law, the company yes. He definitely has grounds for termination.

Paula is certainly doing her best to sabotage the case against Gabriel by her outbursts defending her father. Is it a jury trial or is the judge it?

A bit late on the Camila protection by Gabriel's bodyguards. I guess it is possible they arrive in time to save her. It was totally stupid on Camila's part to open the door. It is Enriqueta's house, she can let herself in, or at the least send a text telling her she is at the door. Where's a peephole when you need one, or in today's world a Nest camera!

About time that memory card was found. I thought Josefina put it on the bookshelf when she swept the room. I missed something in those early episodes.
 

Juana #63 part 3

Dani and Jenny aren’t having any luck finding the memory card. Felipe asks them what they’re doing. He tells Juana she needs to say goodbye to her grandfather.

Elvira testifies. When Claudio asks how she suspected the body was at Gabriel’s she says Rogelio told her. He also manipulated her to give him control over her shares so he could ruin the brewery. He was on the point of ruining it when she took her shares back. Paula shouts out again, defending her father. One more interruption and the judge will remove her from the courtroom.

Ramon gets his Last Rites as the family looks on crying. The priest announces he’s gone.

Claudio asks Elvira to tell about the feud between the two families. Quiroz objects but the judge allows it. He then wants Rogelio in the courtroom tomorrow. Claudio tells Gabriel it went well. David explains to Gabriel why Juana isn’t there. Paula is mad and tells Carlos he doesn’t know her father. He knows exactly who he is. Paula says Gabriel will be remain in jail.

Reny is leaving the courthouse. Camacho is in the backseat of the car and wants to know where Camila is. He has a gun to Reny’s head.

Enriqueta is at the house. Felipe thanks her for being here. David comes in and tells Juana Gabriel sends his love. Memo is thankful Ramon came back. Josefina agrees. Felipe says it was very brave of him. Salvador comforts Jenny and Pacheco is there for Margarita. She tells him her father approves of him and told her they should be happy.

There’s a knock on Enriqueta’s door and Camila answers it. Came no points his gun at her.

Amparo goes to Rogelio’s apartment and says if he doesn’t tell her where Manuel is she’ll go before the judge

Pepito tells Josefina he doesn’t know what to say. The priest says she has a heart of gold. Everyone is comforting each other. Juana dumps a drawer while talking to Carlos. She finds the memory, puts it in the computer and sees the bloodstains on the bridge. She tells the baby they’re going to save his dad.

Yes Kat, I agree with all you said. Reny needed protection and Camila was a fool to open the door. Josefina put the memory card on the bookshelf but at some point after that Jenny put it in the end table drawer. Two more episodes.
