Juanita, RGV Chick, SpanProf & Co: Isn't the upcoming Telenovela with Fabiola Guajardo supposed to be replacing "FAMILIA" next month in the 9:00 PM CST timeslot ?
Steve, I think La Jefa is slated to replace La Familia on February 18. It will occupy the same time slot as La Familia, which is 10 PM Pacific Time . I assume it will air in the same time slot as La Familia everywhere.
#67 - Part 1 of 2
Nedret and Bedri have come to the hospital. Hulya humbly thanks Cihan for the warning that saved their lives. Cihan says that their location had to come from someone on the inside.
The doctor says that Devin was shot in the right lung, but of course, this being a dizi or TN, they still can’t say she’s out of danger. He mentions the baby, so Devin’s secret is out.
Eko is on the phone, with Iskoc nearby, in another of those grimy warehouses that seem to be everywhere in Istanbul. Iskoc says that Turgut is looking for a car. Eko finds out what happened to Devin. Unless Eko and Iskoc are fantastic actors, they’re completely shocked about what happened.
They keep talking about 48 hours for Devin to open her eyes. Why would she be unconscious for that long? Induced coma? Aslan wants them all dead before she wakes.
The 3 amigos come to the hospital, talking about what happened to them. Hulya, looking suspicious, asks how they survived. It’s said that Iskoc escaped and rescued the other two.
Salih tells Ilyas that the police could identify the others from security cameras. Ilyas says to get them out of the country.
Aslan talks to the unconscious Devin, saying he knows she can hear him. He says he’ll only dirty his hands once more.
Ilyas keeps calling Bedri, who doesn’t pick up. Nedret swears him to silence about having been with Ilyaas New Years Eve Day.
Cihan magically has produced a paper with photos of the guys who shot at the family.
Some guy calls Cihan and has information about where the hired guns are. This guy is at Ilyas’ house, where Ilyas himself is not. Can’t remember how or why he became an informant.
Bedri and Yagmur talk. She mentions her sobrina (niece). How do they know the kidney bean is a girl?
Nedret comes to give Ilyas a piece of her mind and encounters Kiymet. She tells the bean chef to tell Ilyas to stay away from her son. And, furthermore, he’s now with the Soykans. Kiymet says that Bedri was there for a couple of days, but she doesn’t want to see him again. After Nedret leaves Kiymet asks one of the guards to get her the cameras. She wants to see what Ilyas and Bedri said. [These people have cameras recording what happens inside their homes at all times?]
Cihan is thinking strategically, going to the trunk for a shotgun. But Aslan goes into some warehouse alone and kills a lot of Ilyas’ hired guys.
#67 - Part 2 of 2
That guy who was sucking up to Ilyas has shown up at the warehouse to get the killers to Smyrna, and then to Bulgaria. He sees what’s happened and calls Salih. He says he’ll send Aslan’s location, but Cihan grabs him up. They try to get him to say where Ilyas is right now, but don’t seem to have any luck.
Hulya begins to interrogate the 3 Amigos.
Bedri lies to Yagmur about having been with Ilyas the day he went there to say he’s done because of his mother ordering him to keep quiet.
Iskoc tells Hulya the guys who grabbed them were rookies. They got away. When asked how he could know nothing would happen to his family, he said that trust was his only option. “Aslan and Devin are also my family. I didn’t tell anyone where you were, nor did Ekrem or Turgut. The family is sacred.”
Nese apologizes to Aslan for having ripped into him earlier.
Bedri asks Aslan if he thinks that Bedri is on his father’s side. Aslan looks him in the eye. Bedri passionately says that that guy is not his father. He killed the guy he thought was his father as a boy. Ilyas is even less to him than that guy. Aslan asked if Ilyas has called him. Bedri replies that he has but he doesn’t answer. Aslan: "If he calls you once more, and you speak with him, would you be able to e me his location?" We don’t hear Bedri’s response.
Kat in SC: Looking forward to seeing your recap of last night's episode.
Yeah and after Telemundo sucks us in to La Jefa at the 10 p.m. slot they will relegate it to the midnight hour after Venganza ends! I'm not totally hating it at that time as I just watch it in the afternoon of the next day.
Novelera, just a quick note to acknowledge your good job. Like you, I don't remember when Cihan planted his mole in the Ilyas household, but bean making grandma is definitely on to him in one of the later scenes of the episode.
Novelera, thank you for an excellent recap as Asian goes on his revenge tour. I have never played a video game, but I have seen kids playing them on tv, and the scene in the warehouse as Asian shot one after another bad guy made me think of a video game. Bang. ..next ...bang..etc.
Wow, Nedret was fierce as she got right in that old Queen of the bean witch's face. Now we know why Ilyas became such a monster.
It looked like Asian picked up a white baby bootie in the warehouse of death.
Susan
Wow, novelera! Many thanks for going above and beyond once again to create this great recap!
I guess I missed the doctor's saying that Devin was shot in the right lung. From what I saw, I thought she had been shot in the stomach. I guess a shot in the right lung would be less likely to damage the uterus than one in the stomach. I remember being stunned when the doctor said the baby was alive.
I loved your question "How do they know the kidney bean is a girl?"
Ah, I see dizi magic extends to more than miraculous medical cures and planes traveling faster than the speed of light. We now see the magical instant creation of photos of all the bad guys, in color no less!
I gotta say, the scene where Aslan successfully shoots all the bad guys in that building and emerges without a scratch really strained my credulity. I guess that's another example of dizi magic at work.
Yes, Cihan's spy was clearly spotted by Kiymet. He's at a considerable distance from her, so it's unlikely that she heard what he was saying, but just his being by himself and talking on the phone would almost surely make the bean witch suspicious.
That's about all for now. Fingers crossed that both Devin and the kidney bean survive.
Gracias, Novelera. Super recap. bean chef - lol.
Nedret vs. Kiymet: Loved it. You go Nedret!
I laughed when Cihan said something like "I'm supposed to be the crazy brother!"
The Three Amigos: Each would hate himself if he'd given up the Soykans' location. But having your wife and two kids, mom, or pregnant wife threatened is rough. Maybe we'll see in a flashback who, if anyone, talked. I hopes it's none of the three.
I guess the baby bootie, which Devin gave Aslan, dropped out of his pocket. Weird.
Thanks for the recap, novelera. You ask excellent questions.
Turkish Doc said the bullet hit Devin’s lung and diaphragm.
“How do they know the kidney bean is a girl?” I don’t know why they translated it to niece. Yagmur said “yeğenim” which could mean my nephew or my niece. She didn’t add “kız” to make it niece.
When Cihan departed Ilyas’ house, there was a man who secretly slipped him Serap’s gun. Cihan asked the guy to keep him informed of what happens in Casa Ilyas. And now the Bean Queen (I think someone here called Kiymet that.) is suspicious of the guy.
Friday recap will be up on Saturday.
Kat, I'm so sorry to hear that your family has been hit with COVID. Maybe your immune system will come to your aid, and you'll be spared. My son caught it. He isolated himself in a bedroom, and my DIL brought him things to eat and drink almost in a haz mat suit since she has a preexisting medical condition that might wreak havoc if she got COVID. We're thinking about you. And I'd like to add that you are the trouper of all troupers recapping singlehandedly. I read them from time to time, wondering how things will turn out with what seemed like the worst male protagonist ever.
I am worried about the Three Amigos. They were being tortured and their families threatened. I like them all. But I am wondering if Turgut told them what they wanted because he doesn’t have a family and if Aslan takes revenge it wouldn’t affect as many people. That would be a sacrifice he made for the group. I would hate that to happen but I can see it.
Babachita
My daughter is sick now, but she tested positive for influenza A and she worked from home today so now I have those germs to worry about! She stayed in her office except for the 2 school runs for her kindergartner who had a half day today. My husband and I have had COVID twice (maybe 3 x, I've lost track). Husband has 2 ski trips planned for this coming month so I don't want him to catch anything.
Aslan asks Bedri if he will help him find Ilyas’ location. Bedri answers, “veririm” - I give. Aslan shows Bedri the pics of Ilyas’ men and says, I will kill them all. See the man on top? (It’s Ilyas.) I’ll be able to kill him when you tell me where he is.
Eko is on the Hulya – Nedret hot seat, looking nervous. They ask him if he would like to have children. He replies, no, not yet. The ladies note that Elif was being followed. Weren’t you afraid for her? Eko asks them to get to the point. You suspect me? You think I’d betray you to protect Elif? Hulya says they are just trying to understand what happened. Nedret chimes in, we’re not saying you betrayed us, but you’re young, you have a wife… Eko snaps, I’m young but I’m not an idiot!
Aslan tells Bedri, you’ll give me your father’s location… and well, maybe I won’t have to do it. Maybe you’ll do it. Will you be able to do it? Will you be able to do it without hesitation? Bedri looks Aslan in the eyes and replies, like I said, I killed my father when I was 15. I buried him with my own hands. I won’t hesitate to kill this man. Aslan says the look on Bedri’s face is enough for him to trust.
Hulya tells Eko they are just talking and there’s no need to get upset. You’re not just talking, Eko replies, you’re accusing me. Nedret asks, if you know you’re right, there’s no need to get angry. Eko shrugs, I’m just trying to explain myself. I didn’t tell anyone anything.
Eko turns it back on Nedret—maybe it was Bedri. That shuts her up and Hulya gives Nedret a side eye. Eko continues, Ilyas is his father, isn’t he? Maybe he opened his mouth. Nedret rises from her chair. Ekrem… there’s a line you shouldn’t cross. Don’t cross it or you’ll be sorry.
We hear Devin’s words about buying a book to read to their unborn baby and we see Aslan enter Devin’s room with a bag. He takes out a children’s book and takes a chair to sit beside the bed.
Ilyas calls Kiymet. Aslan killed 5 of my men. There’s a mole. If the mole knew where I was, he would have told that too. Help me. Don’t worry, Kiymet replies, I’ll find him. Make him pay for his betrayal, Ilyas says. Kiymet says she will and asks Ilyas if he’s leaving. Ilyas tells her he won’t leave without seeing his son.
Kiymet is alarmed. She wants Ilyas to leave immediately—I don’t want to lose you! Don’t do anything stupid! The police are after you. Ilyas says, don’t worry. I can take care of myself. Find the traitor. I have to hang up. Kiymet begs, son, listen to me! You have to leave! [Ilyas, Mother knows best!] Ilyas ends the call and Kiymet says, your son won’t get you into trouble. I won’t allow it.
Aslan reads the book about an octopus to Devin and the kidney bean. He takes her hand and tells her to keep fighting. He leaves and a tear slips from the side of Devin’s closed eye.
Salih tells Ilyas that Ceyrek sent a message. We know where Aslan is. Ilyas gives the order—send the men out now!
We see Aslan lying on a mat, wearing headphones, at center ice at the rink where he took Devin skating. We see that flashback and hear their theme song. [we really hear “Son Arzum” by Nilüfer.]
Nese cries at the ICU window, Devin still hasn’t opened her eyes. Hulya and Nedret are there for support. Nedret tells Nese to stay strong for her daughters. Don’t give up.
Ilyas’ men arrive at the skating rink. If you thought this was a setup, you were correct. As the thugs close in on Aslan, the lights dim and they are shot from the stands by Cihan, Isko, Turgut and Eko. Aslan tells his guys to clean up the mess.
Nedret goes to comfort Yagmur. Everything will be okay. Yagmur cries, it hasn’t been 48 hours yet. It seems like time is standing still. [remember, Devin can’t wake up until Aslan has dispatched all the baddies.] Nedret assures her that soon she will be back at the hospital waiting for news about the baby.
Asuman tells Nedret that Elif is coming to offer get well wishes. Asu adds, before she comes, there’s something I need to tell you.
Outside the rink, Aslan crosses the baddies off the list. Only Ceyrek, Salih and Ilyas are left. Cihan says he caught one already. Flashback. Cihan captured Ceyrek when he came to take Ilyas’ men. We also see that Cihan sent a message from Ceyrek’s phone to Salih giving Aslan’s location at the rink. End flash.
Aslan asks Cihan if Ceyrek/Ferman is still keeping quiet. Yes, Cihan replies, he’s strange one. Aslan says they can get rid of him now. Cihan doesn’t want to do that yet. He’s determined to make Ceyrek talk first.
Arif shows up at the hospital and tells Hulya he carried out her investigation request. Nothing of note about Isko or Turgut, but Eko’s wife is 7 weeks pregnant. Meanwhile, Asu is telling Nedret about Elif’s pregnancy. Nedret says, I spoke with Eko today and he didn’t mention it. Asu asks Nedret not to say anything to Elif.
Nedret and Hulya start to compare notes about Elif. Nese sees them and starts to panic that it has something to do with Devin. They assure her that it’s nothing to do with Devin. It’s something about Seher’s nurse.
Elif shows up and gives her wishes for a speedy recovery. They tell her Devin’s condition is unchanged, but they are hoping to get good news in the next 48 hours. Elif heard about Devin’s pregnancy and asks about the baby. Asu comes back to the ICU and takes Elif away to treat her to a coffee.
The 3 amigos are cleaning up the mess at the rink. Eko complains about the Hulya-Nedret interrogations. We were questioned… I don’t understand, he says, look, I’m killing their enemies. But they still doubt me. What do you think? Isko answers, do you think this is a joke? Use them [the enemies] to vent your anger and frustrations. Isko starts walking away. Turgut asks him, where are you going? Isko doesn’t elaborate. He says, you can handle the rest of the bodies. I’ll be right back.
Turgut looks suspicious of Eko. He asks him to be honest. Did you talk to Ilyas? Eko fires back, maybe it was you who told them. Turgut gives Eko a little tap and exclaims, I would die for Aslan Soykan! And I wouldn’t, Eko replies, why do you doubt me? Is that what brothers do? Turgut shouts, but you can keep your wife’s pregnancy a secret? Asuman knew! Why did Asuman know? And you expect me to trust you?
Nedret and Bedri talk outside the hospital. He asks her if she got answers to her questions. Nothing definitive, she replies, but Hulya and I have someone in mind—Ekrem. His wife is pregnant, and he kept it a secret. [why doesn’t Eko say it’s because Elif asked him?] Maybe he feared for his wife and baby’s safety, and he gave the location. Nedret says, remember how I told you to keep quiet? No one can know you went to see Ilyas. I had my reasons.
Turgut accuses Eko, maybe you talked out of fear for Elif and the baby. Eko grabs Turgut—I’m going to kill you! They fall to the ice and start wrestling and slipping around. Isko returns and tries to break it up. He falls, too. What’s the matter with you, he shouts, we can’t fight right now! Eko shouts back, he called me a traitor! Isko is at a loss. Eko says, fine, you caught me Columbo Turgut. It’s true, I thought something could happen to them! I was scared! Fine, you caught me! I hope you can sleep tonight! [I hope Eko was being sarcastic.] Eko walks away. Isko calls Turgut an idiot.
Yagmur exits the hospital and overhears Nedret asking Bedri if he kept quiet about seeing Ilyas on NYE. He says of course, you told me not to say anything. Nedret goes back inside. Yagmur approaches Bedri. She asks if he was with his father that night. He plays dumb. She calls BS, she overheard the convo. He tells her Nedret made him swear not to tell anyone. She asks why.
Bedri says he only went to confront Ilyas and tell him he wasn’t his father. That’s all. Yagmur isn’t buying it. He says, don’t judge me without knowing the whole story. I’m the victim here. Yagmur replies, if you gave Ilyas the address, then Aslan will do what has to be done.
Aslan returns to the hospital and Hulya asks to talk. You’re tired, she says, you haven’t eaten or slept. Save your strength for your family’s sake. He asks, what did you have to say? We need to find the person who sold us out to Ilyas asap. That person is an insider.
Outside the hospital, Eko rips into Elif about sharing the pregnancy news. [yes, when she told him not to.] This wouldn’t be a problem if we were normal people, she replies, I’m sorry. He persists. Why did you tell Asuman when I didn’t tell my brothers? I didn’t tell Aslan, but you told Asuman! You asked me to keep quiet, what were you thinking? Elif asks, what’s really bothering you? This isn’t the reason why you’re upset. Is there something you need to tell me? Eko is seething and says nothing. She shakes her head and walks away. Bedri has been watching Elif and Eko from a distance.
Hulya tells Aslan their security is compromised. He knows and will handle it. Anything else? Hulya tells him about her investigations. She spoke to the amigos. That night was difficult for them, she says, people will do anything for their family. I learned something. Eko is going to be a father. Did you know Elif is pregnant? I didn’t. He’s hiding it. Aslan replies, I said I’ll handle it. Is there anything else? Nope.
Cihan has Ceyrek chained up somewhere. He brings Ceyrek something to eat and pulls up a chair. Ceyrek pushes the food away. As you wish, Cihan calmly says, don’t eat… but please speak. He opens a file. There’s info on Ferman/Ceyrek: He’s 24. An orphan who grew up in Ilyas' neighborhood. He has admired Ilyas since his childhood. He’s just joined his team.
Cihan guesses that Ferman is called Ceyrek because he doesn’t eat much. The name means “one fourth”. It’s not your last name though. They call you that because you’re very quiet. Ceyrek remains silent.
Bedri goes over to Eko and asks if he is okay. Agitated Eko doesn’t know. He says, we are doomed, and I don’t know. He starts to cry. Bedri puts a hand on Eko’s shoulder—look at me. You’re a king, you don’t deserve this. We’re going to figure this out. I’ll handle it, I promise. Eko apologizes for losing his composure. He asks Bedri to keep it between them. He agrees. [not sure if Bedri is being sincere or working an angle.] Bedri takes out his phone. That’s all we see.
Cihan tells Ceyrek they have a similar story. Both from a dump, they were both rescued by thugs. I’m not good at anything, Cihan says, I’m not very good at love… or dreams. It’s how my head works. That’s why you and I have much to talk about. I’ve learned something in life—you’ll never prosper if you don’t speak. You just have to tell me something. When you do, the life you led will be forgotten. Where is Ilyas Koruzade? Ceyrek says nothing.
Salih tells Ilyas that Ceyrek isn’t answering his calls. Salih suspects betrayal. Ilyas doesn’t think so, he thinks that Ceyrek is probably dead.
Ilyas calls Bedri and this time Bedri picks up. Bedri says, I’m not your son, I’m dead to you. Ilyas replies, you’re making a mistake. [I think it’s Ilyas who’s making one now.] Bedri asks, what do you want? Let’s meet tomorrow, Ilyas says, you can say it to my face. I have things to tell you, too. Bedri agrees and Ilyas will send the location for pickup. Bedri starts to call Aslan but puts the phone down.
Cihan continues to work on Ceyrek. Listen, he shot a pregnant woman. He has shed the blood of the innocent. He feeds off that. Ceyrek glares at Cihan. Cihan asks, what’s wrong? You’re angry. I’m not surprised, it’s obvious. I’m tired, I’m going to bed now. You should do the same.
Cihan gets up. We’ll talk again tomorrow… and you will tell me where I can find Ilyas Koruzade. Ceyrek, nothing will happen. I won’t hurt you. You won’t feel anything. This life will finally end. I made a promise to my brother. Cihan walks to the door.
Do I hear a meow? A ginger kitty approaches Ceyrek, he gives the cat his food and talks to it. Cihan takes note.
Cihan’s informant calls--you asked me to find out who the traitor was. Did you get it, Cihan asks. Yes, I know, the informant replies. Cihan hears a gunshot over the phone—hello? hello? Ah, Kiymet skipped the beans and served the informant a bullet in the back instead! A thug tells Kiymet the footage she requested is ready. She tells the guy to get rid of the body.
Aslan sits at Devin’s bedside. He looks exhausted. He tells her, you’re almost there. Be patient, the result will be beautiful. The doctor said nice things. Devin… you and the baby will be fine soon. Nothing will happen to you.
Aslan’s eyes close. This will end… Devin’s eyes open. This won’t end, she says. [is he dreaming this?] Aslan smiles, Devin? She says, I can’t let you go on like this. You’re lying to yourself and hurting yourself. Admit it and end this. What, he asks?
You’re terrified, Devin replies, the doctor didn’t say anything positive about my condition. You tell the others that I’ll be fine, but you don’t even believe it. That’s why you never dodge a bullet. You challenge Fate. There’s a reason why you’re never fearful. You’re dying from fear. Aslan denies it. She knows, she went through it, too. She knows what it’s like. You’re afraid you’ll lose me, she says. I’m not going to lose you, Aslan responds, that’s not going to happen. I can’t lose you.
Machines start beeping. Devin’s eyes are now closed. Aslan calls, Devin? Devin? Devin! He shouts for the doctor. Devin! Devin flatlines.
And we are out!
Dondi, many thanks for yet another [ ] recap! The brackets are there to indicate that I've run out of appropriate adjectives: terrific, magnificent, amazing, superb, extraordinary, superlative, fantastic...
Though I understand why Hulya and Nedret suspect Eko as the informant, I don't agree with Hulya's telling him they're just talking and "there's no need to get upset."
Like you, I wondered why Eko didn't simply say that Elif had asked him not to tell anyone about the pregnancy.
I enjoyed your saying that Aslan reads the octopus book to Devin "and the kidney bean."
The tear that slid down Devin's face made me think that perhaps she really does hear and understand what Aslan is saying even in her semi-conscious state. Before the tear, I had assumed she was completely unconscious.
The plan to kill the bad guys at the ice rink seemed to me absurdly dangerous. IIRC, the baddies entered the ice rink with their guns drawn and pointing at Aslan. What if one or more of them started shooting before the amigos expected? The baddies weren't all that far from Aslan, and he was a stationery target. I guess this was another example of dizi magic, on par with Aslan's being able to wipe out all the guys in the warehouse in a matter of seconds.
I too was not sure what Bedri had in mind when assured Eko that he'll handle the misunderstanding. I wondered whether he's trying to emulate (or even usurp) Aslan.
I'm not sure what to make of Cihan's seeing Ceyrek pet the cat and give it his food. My feeling is that Cihan is touched by Ceyrek's action. Then again, perhaps Cihan just sees a way to get through to Ceyrek and get him to reveal Ilyas's location.
So Devin flatlines. Why am I not surprised that a Friday night episode ends this way? And why don't I think Devin has died?
Oops, the brackets in the first sentence of my most recent message above should look something like this: [ ] rather than [ ]
dondi, thank you for every detail . I wasn't able to watch this episode , so I especially appreciate your excellent recap.
Jarifa, Hey, it is definitely beanie time as we race to the end.
I am sure more will die . This dizi has been more violent than any of the dizis that i saw before this one. At this point, I am kind of hoping the bean queen is one of the casualties . Maybe she will die trying to save her little Ilyas. Perhaps she was the real evil mafiosa and wasn't just in the kitchen cooking those death beans.
After seeing the actress playing Nedret as the evil Aziza in " Hercai" , I can't believe that she is a good guy in this show.
Who leaked the location of the Soykans on NYE. I hope that it wasn't one of his faithful guys.
Who will and who will die ? Susan
Thanks, dondi, for another wonderful recap with some asides that had me nodding along in agreement. Also, thank you for explaining that in the Turkish they didn't reveal the sex of Devin's baby.
So...is this whole Eko thing a head fake. Having been on the receiving end of a few of those in other dizis (and this one as well) I kind of think that's maybe what they're doing. In any case Eko is not behaving like the sharpest knife in the drawer, but what else is new? He tries to pin the rat label on Bedri, probably because he still resents him for Yagmur.
I wanted Aslan to keep reading the octopus book. It was charming.
Don't get me wrong, I love all kinds of Latin music, including some romantic ballads. But that Aslan/Devin theme song just doesn't do it for me.
I notice that Aslan never has to clean up any blood.
Dondi, do you keep a cheat sheet? I am always amazed at how you come up with the name of a character we haven't seen for a week. This is especially hard for me because Turkish names aren't much like the names in telenovelas; i.e., people I even know by that name, living in Califas.
I am so fond of Nejat Isler (Cihan). I remember dondi mentioning that she'd seen him before and his being a good actor.
Loved "Kiymet skipped the beans". God that woman is a menace.
What I'd like to see and wonder if we will is this: I'd like to see the whole story about that flashback they showed of Nedret being thrown out of her family home and what part Hulya played in it.
I'm not rewatching them and it's a day after watching so who knows what I will recall in what was essentially a double episode for me. The episodes will likely be a mashup.
Shock and outrage were the reactions from the de Pino family at Fernanda's announcement that she was the sole heir. Her first order of business is to get the biggest office in the building, Elisa and others can have a cubicle. Pretty sure she took over Alfredo's office.
Ana is upset over the taunting call Fern has with her. Elisa tells her don't answer her calls. Ana figures the only way to rid themselves of Fern is to kill her.
Adelberto is livid that Brenda is back with Gabriel. Come Monday he is cutting her out of his life and inheritance. No way anyone from the del Pino (who aren't actually del Pino since Alfredo's mom cuckolded her husband) will get their hands on his company.
Ana and Claudia gossip a lot at the mansion. ( I'm not sure how the house possession will lay out since I guess Eugenio owned half of it, but for now she hasn't demanded that part of the pie). Ana tells Claudia about Joseph and shows her a picture from her phone. Claudia is suitably impressed with his handsome face. Claudia then raves about her new crush, Ignacio. He has a new nickname, Chaco or something I have forgotten. Ana of course knows him and is also suitably impressed.
Ana still has plans for her romantic tryst with Joseph.
Tania rejects Alonso's marriage proposal. She just doesn't trust him. Alonso has definitely undergone a transformation.
Mirna explains a bit more to Tania about her new job. Tania is shocked to learn it is with Fern. So Mirna tells Tania about how poor Fern was so manipulated by Eugenio, had her daughter stolen, but told she was dead. Fern is a good person, she wouldn't hurt a fly!
Tania tells Elisa that Fern knows Mirna.
Aty did a bit of eavesdropping on various conversations in the office building, not sure she learned anything important.
Miguel and Rafita discuss the security at whatever place they are robbing ( killing?) . I think it is Adelberto's house that is their target.
Elisa talks to Roberto's doctor about how worried she is about his diagnosis. The Dr has no clue what she is talking about, he is in remission.
Speaking of Roberto, he did not lose his office as Fern trusts him. But she has no plans to get back into anything with him as she loves the gardener...he is not pleased. I think she offered to pay back what he took from the company to give her and some other monetary perks.
Fermin, Marcelo, Francisco were in the 2 episodes but nothing earth shattering happened with them.
Elisa goes back to the office and smacks Roberto across the face for lying about his cancer.
Those were the main plot points in the 2 episodes.
Kat in SC: Thanks for the mashup version of the recap. My personal thoughts.
152.) Daddy Ferrero cuts Brenda out of the will. Too bad he nor his wife will enjoy it because both will get whacked very soon by Gabriel & Alfredo's hired thugs.
153.) Ana & Claudia gossiping LOL. They need a spin-off so badly: Telemundo are you listening?
154.) Crazy Goldie Locks using her recent power-trip being the sole heir to Eugenio's fortune LOL. Enjoy it while it last little blondie, because it will NOT last.
155.) I'm somewhat worried about Tania. Only a matter of time before you're in danger.
156.) Mooching Roberto getting the BIGLY smacks across the face from Gullible Elisa. Loved it!
157.) Mirna has a new job AGAIN? Does this mean Tania gets to run Mirna's other business venture too?
158.) Tania telling Gullible Elisa about Mirna & Crazy Goldie Locks.

Gracias, Dondi. Absolutely fabulous. "Kiymet skipped the beans..." -- Friday's episode swayed from heart-wrenching to violent, and then I read that line and burst out laughing. What a transition! ;>
Thank goodness Salih hires the dimmest hitmen ever.
I'm guessing that Ceyrek won't break. He's been worshipping Ilyas from afar (down the street) for years, though Ilyas didn't even remember him.
All three amigos get questioned, but Eko is the one who gets uber-defensive and even points to Bedri. To be a ratfink (admittedly under dire circumstances) is one thing, but to accuse another is chicken-hearted. Not Eko's finest hour. My crockpot theory is that the bad guys intercepted Elif's phone, which had info about the Soykans' location.
I too enjoyed the Octopus story. I'll put it on my list for the next time I read a bedtime story.
Kiymet wasted no time. I do believe she would kill Bedri just as quickly.
I can’t believe that any of the Lads would spill the location, although I’m not sure why they should risk their own families. I’m a little concerned that Nedret might be a weak link except that she was there that night. Not sure why Bedri needs to keep the Ilyas meeting a secret.
But I’m more worried about Ceyrek’s cat. Cihan better leave it alone and maybe let it go live out a happy life at wherever Eko’s dog went off to. (Not a “farm upstate” but maybe an actual farm).
Can’t really blame Kiymet for resorting to a gun. Beans take a long time to get right and there just aren’t that many chapters left. Bullets are more effective. (But she’s still terrible).

I think that Bedri wants to kill Ilyas himself , so he's not telling Aslan where and when they are meeting .
K...I grew up on a farm . Lots of dogs were dropped off at the end of our lane , and my sweet dad called them all " Puppy" and kept them all. Susan
HC. I need more of your comments. I missed that the plan is to rape Brenda. I figured they were missing Claudia and had plans for her.
Thanks, everyone, for the kind words. Great comments.
Juanita: “Why am I not surprised that a Friday night episode ends this way?” Yep, standard Friday cliffhanger. “And why don't I think Devin has died?” lol rhetorical question. ITA, the ice rink plot was risky, but Aslan has to kill everyone before Devin wakes up. I’m wondering about Cihan, Ceyrek, and the cat, too. The cat is important somehow.
Susan: “After seeing the actress playing Nedret as the evil Aziza in " Hercai", I can't believe that she is a good guy in this show.” Ayda Aksel has my respect. She’s top notch. “I think that Bedri wants to kill Ilyas himself, so he's not telling Aslan where and when they are meeting.” Good speculation. And Aslan asked Bedri if he would be able to do it.
Novelera: “I notice that Aslan never has to clean up any blood.” The boss never does. “Dondi, do you keep a cheat sheet?” No, I just spend too much time watching both the Spanish and Turkish eps. And ITA, I’d like to know more of the Nedret/Hulya backstory. “I am so fond of Nejat Isler…” Me, too! He’s currently on Netflix in the “10 days…” detective thriller movie trilogy. They are a bit difficult to follow at times, but they have a great cast.
Niecie: “My crockpot theory is that the bad guys intercepted Elif's phone, which had info about the Soykans' location.” I like your theory. Also, remember that Aslan asked Eko to book the hall for the celebration. The baddies could have found info on Eko’s phone. Maybe that’s why he feels guilty.
K: I hope nothing happens to the cat, too. I figured Nedret wanted Bedri to keep the meeting with Ilyas secret so he wouldn’t be accused of betrayal. Look at how everyone is talking about Eko.
The book Aslan read: Oli- Mutluluğu Arayan Bir Ahtapotun Hikayesi (Oli - The Story of an Octopus Looking for Happiness) by Naz Elkorek illustrated by Gizem Darendelioğlu. I tried to find an English version, but I couldn’t.
