PAPAS #19 Part 1

Previously: Tino presented his, Clara Luz and Rudolf’s “Maximus” concept to the board. The presentation included planning and executing concerts, peliculas and other social events to maximize membership.

Despite Tino’s assertion to the children that he and Aidé have no romantic relationship, they are tightly enveloped in each other’s embrace as they kiss passionately. Alas, Facundo and his camera come into view as viewerville realizes this illusion is going to be soon shattered!

Facundo gets his shots as he mutters under his breath. Tino and Aidé discuss their newly changed relationship and he tries to quell her worries. Tino asks she believe in him, which she does.

Lichita laments Chano being arrested. He tells her Checo is the boyfriend of Circe, the daughter of Tino! Next, we see the two lovebirds, she replete in hot pink, he in leopard print as they kiss in the midst of a green pseudo jungle. Let’s just say Checo is no Tarzan 😊

Clara Luz and Rudolf discuss Guzman and Pipe being blood.

Pura holds her side in pain as she talks with Guzman who coughs pathetically saying he is sick. She mentions Silvana’s wishes as he calls her prima.

Lichita wants to call the police but Chano grabs her cell after which she goes after him, demanding her phone.

Tino and Aidé are discussing their new success and he tells her she is marvelous. Fed, the rain that supplants the sunshine, enters and interrupts.

Fed wants the tea on Tino from Aidé.

As expected, Facundo uploads his pictures of Aidé and Tino on amibuk adding some very unflattering captions about her and her amante.

Rudolf wants a kiss from Clara Luz but gets a gentle cheek slap instead. Tino comes in with good news.

PAPAS #19 Part 2

Aidé greets Lichita at the reception desk and senses something is wrong. Lichita admits she is worried about her children but doesn’t relinquish that Checo is dating Circe. Aidé thanks Lichita for calling her about the meeting (I think).

Bertha has coffee talk with Rina and Augusto and hears how wonderful Aidé is.

Chano comes across Chintolo and asks about Checo’s whereabouts but Chintolo remains every inch of the little worm he is and offers nothing (not that he knows anything).

The family is gathered as Circe gives some flimsy excuse and leaves. Tino looks concerned and goes after her but she says she is fine. Lila is obviously upset about something but when Tino asks her what it is, she cuts him off.

Uh oh, Checo is there in Circe’s room. I gather this is where he is “hiding”.

Clara Luz asks Pura for a minute. She tries to explain that while she adores Pipe, she doesn’t want to be a mother. She brings up Guzmán which is coldly received. She apologizes but when the doorbell rings Pura abruptly ends the conversation. (I thought Pura had asked Clara Luz and Rudolf to leave, perhaps they have a reprieve).

Scarlet shows Tino some pictures she drew that include him and Facundo. She is adorable as she shows him a cute drawing of her and Emi.

All of a sudden, Emi’s motorized wheelchair starts moving of its own volition. It is that beyotch Fed, threatening the scared child again.

Pura and Guzmán meet with lawyers (?) I couldn’t follow the conversation.

Lichita and Chano have another heart wrenching discussion as Chofis listens, understanding they are talking about Checo but they say little. Lichita tells Chano again that she wants to call the police.

Aidé and Tino have a heart to heart, they want to be happy with the children. They share kisses and she smiles sweetly. Good night my love he says as he leaves. There is a cool shot of her, where many images of her are reflected in the cuts of the crystal.

Circe is raiding the fridge as Rina catches and surprises her. She offers to bring her food to her room but Circe says and emphatic no.

PAPAS #19 Part 3 of 3

Checo dines in Circe’s room. Aidé knocks on the door as they hustle to hide the food. She thinks Circe is nervous about her exams (hardly). She bids her daughter good night as Circe locks the door behind her. They fall into each other’s arms.

Guzmán and Pura talk as Clara Luz listens around the corner to whatever it is they are saying.

Checo is on the floor of Circe’s room as she finds the online pictures of Tino and Aidé that Facundo posted. She does some Sergio Sendel phone throwing and then pats the side of the bed next to her indicating Checo should come in. Are you sure he asks? Yes she nods. They both smile and kiss and pick up the covers.

Lichita and Chano talk when a concerned Chofis asks where Checo is. She seems to ask if he isn’t there because of her but Lichita reassures her and hugs her.

After their tryst, Circe takes a selfie and murmurs that she was a girl but now she is a woman (as I throw up a bit in my mouth). Checo slithers into the shot and then oh dear, Aidé and Tino walk into the now unlocked bedroom. Aidé’s face is flushed as she tells her daughter she was manipulated. Circe gets nasty and Tino moves forward into the line of fire blocking Aidé as she goes to hit Circe.

At Pura’s there was a bit of discussion about Pipe’s father I didn’t catch.

Checo puts his clothes on as Tino grabs him. But wait, there’s more…A knock on the door reveals Lichita and Chano. Naturally, Circe is shocked to see them as Checo told her that Chano was the gardener. Look me in the eyes Lichita says to her errant son, did you lie to her? Circe evaporates in tears, seemingly not because she loves him but because she has learned he is poor. Checo makes a run for it and gets outside but is immediately grabbed by two burly policemen. Circe screams at Tino she will never forgive him. Lichita says he wasn’t the one who called the police. Checo looks on incredulously realizing it was his parents who gave him up.

What an ending!! I wish I had understood more of what transpired. Kindly add to and/or correct on what I misinterpreted. Your clarifying comments are always greatly appreciated.

Diana, thank you very much for this excellent recap; this was a very difficult episode, with a lot going on and a lot of, I think, difficult Spanish, especially from Chano. I don't think he was the class valedictorian at that prepa. Maybe Aidé was.

I spent some time looking up some interesting words, such as "besucón", being fond of kissing. I'm going to have to remember that word, you never know when it might come in handy. There was quite a bit of new vocabulary for me, but I doubt I'll remember much of it.

Pura told Clara Luz that Silvana was impregnated by artificial insemination, her choice. There is no father, said Pura. Pura and Guzmán were rather cool towards each other.


I am going to be busy, with computer issues, and others, so I won't volunteer for any recaps for several days at least. I didn't realize quite how bad things had gotten here at chez Andy, Chaos Minor Manor.

Las hijas, capitulo 23
Part 1/3

Luis and Graciela talk about Val daring to attack Priscilla. Graciela is not shocked, Ofelia is aggressive, she’s seen it, no wonder her daughter is just like her. Luis doesn’t get how Arturo could be falling in love with someone like Val. Graciela can’t believe this, it’s surely temporary. Luis is not that certain.

Priscila continues her “woe me” story with Camila. She lies about Val just dropping by, shoving her and hitting her with the vase. The maid saw everything, she can vouch for her.

Arturo goes inside a restaurant and starts creating a scene, breaking dishes and asking the manager to call the cops. Ha! I bet I know why he wants to do that.

Leo finally dares to tell Paula that the front-page cover will probably be cancelled. Paula thinks the magazine people prefer Valeria and isn’t happy about it.

Leo talks to the lawyer about Val’s case. Priscilla has witnesses, but her declaration is not consistent. If Val had truly hit her, she would have been more hurt. Nick asks the lawyer to help her get out. (I think his name is Hector, we better get used to it, he seems to be working around the clock for the Portillas).

Arturo has gotten himself arrested to be with Val in jail. He’s in a cell right across from the one Val is being kept in and he’s all smiles as he tells her he wanted to talk to her and be with her. She is surprised to see him, pretends not to want to chat, but she is kinda sorta digging it. Would he really do this just to talk to her? Yes, he didn’t want her to be alone, he needs to be around just as long as he has to.
Val thinks he’s crazy, but she starts telling him everything that has happened with Priscila and how she was acting out of jealousy. But she never hurt her, she is no savage. Arturo promises she will never hurt because of him ever again.
Quick break just to comment on how Nick and Arturo are handling this new crisis. Nick is talking to a lawyer, trying to get to the bottom of things in order to get Val free (if she is truly innocent). Arturo is breaking the law, trying to see her and be close to her. Which of these two would you rather have in your corner, ladies?

Luis and Nick are now at the police station asking about Arturo. When Luis understands that Arturo is not cooperating and prefers to stay locked up just to be with Val, he gets mad and leaves. Nick tells Hector to just focus on Val’s case, Art will want to get out just as soon as she’s freed.

Ofelia and Mar arrive at the police station with a lot of food for Val. Ofelia is worried for her daughter, Mar reminds her Juan is in the same situation, or worse. Ofelia says there is no comparison, Juan is in jail because he tried separating mother and daughter. There is no excuse for that.

Val is still in her jail cell, when Arturo gets called to get out, but he won’t go if Val stays. The cop forces him out, this is not a hotel, even Val has to ask him to stop causing problems. He says he’s only leaving so he can help her from the outside. Just hang in there.

Luis talks with some people from his company and finds out the front-page cover hasn’t been canceled yet and that’s blocking another campaign the company is working on.


 

Las hijas, capitulo 23
Part 2/3

Hector visits Val, saying he is her lawyer. She doesn’t want to accept his help, she can’t even pay. She thinks Arturo asked him to come, he doesn’t comment on it. She starts explaining what truly happened.

Arturo meets with Ofelia and Mar in jail, he tells them he was able to see Val, he spent the night with her. How come? He broke the law to be able to be around her and make sure she was safe. Ofelia might be surprised, but he really cares about Val. Mar is smiling at the story.

Francisco asks Priscila about her declaration being inconsistent; she will have to go back to make a new statement. Just tell the whole truth. And they need to see what the maid said, also, their versions of the truth are different.

Hector tells Nick Val’s declaration and Priscila’s are not the same, and the bruises are different from what Priscila is saying. Nick remembers Art always said Priscila was impulsive. He tells Hector to bill him personally for his services and never tell Val he is the one helping her. Hector agrees, Val already thinks Art is the one handling her case and she is so proud, it’s probably for the better. Imagine she didn’t even accept the contract or the cheque they gave her. Nick is surprised, could Val actually be that unique?

Luis calls the journalist Leo had seen the other day about the front-page cover. She makes it clear she never asked for the exclusive, he was the one who offered it in exchange for a cover for his wife.
Luis confronts Leo about what he has done. He’s just a puppet in his wife’s hands. And she’s using the company also. He lied to him and didn’t listen to a direct order. He can forget about the cover and about ever trusting him.

Val is out of jail, Ofelia and Mar are waiting for her. She is doing OK, but the case is not settled yet. The Portilla lawyer has helped her, but they still need to prove her innocence. Arturo is happy to see her, she thanks him for helping. She’s all smiles, as Ofelia takes her away.

At the office, Nick is trying to stop another fire. Now the press is after the story of Val being locked up. For now they’re on top of it, but they have to get her out before the news of her arrest starts affecting the campaign. Nick decides to give short declarations to several fashion outlets.

Arturo comes to see Priscila, he needs her to tell the truth about Valeria. Priscila says she will do it, but only if Arturo gets back together with her. Arturo pushes her away, he realizes that Priscila is lying and says they will never be together. He pushes her again, promises to prove to everyone she is a liar. She insists Val did hit her, and there were witnesses. But Art will never believe in her again. Priscila doesn’t understand how he can trust that woman more than she trusts her, who he’s known all his life. Art points out it’s because he knows her so well that he thinks she’s capable of this.
As he’s leaving, he asks the maid what really happened. Francisco arrives and Art says Priscilla is lying. Francisco throws him out.

 

Las hijas, capitulo 23
Part 3/3

Val is happy to be home. Mar is worried about her, how is she going to get out of this mess? Val says she is innocent, and she trusts in justice. Mar is shocked she can be so calm.
Later in the shower, Val cries, why is this happening to her?
When she sits down to eat, she and Mar talk and Mar apologizes, he realizes she has no reason to be upset with her, she can be a model if she wants to. Val says she doesn’t care about this, so Mar asks about Arturo, it’s obvious he truly cares about her. Val has no clue what is going on, he has many other women, even Priscila showed her magazines about it. She is not a fool. Mar thinks he could have changed. Val doesn’t even want to think about it.

Leo is out drinking his sorrows away. The guy who talked to Paula the other day asks a waiter about him and finds out he’s one of the Portilla sons. Small world, he says. Then he calls Arturo, who he knows well. They should talk about business one of these days. When he hangs up, he says out loud that Paula won’t be able to get rid of him so easily. His name is Saul.

Nick asks Hector about Val’s case. Hector thinks they can win it, Nick is worried about her image. This is all Arturo’s fault. But he won’t give up, he’s worked too much on his project.

Mar doesn’t feel well, it looks like she is about to faint, tells Val she’s slept badly because she’s very worried about Juan. Val asks her to sit and take a nap. Baby alert!!
There is a knock at the door. It’s Arturo who wants to talk to Valeria. She asks him to come the next day, but he insists. They go to her room, since Mar is napping on the couch.
He tells her he talked to Priscila and he’s certain she lied and using her maid to vouch for her. He promises he’ll help. Ofelia arrives and finds them together. She thinks he should go, since it’s late. She thanks him for the lawyer, Art has no clue what she’s talking about but doesn’t explain any further. He leaves.

Leo arrives home drunk, tells Paula that Luis cancelled her front-page cover. She starts whining. “Why, why, why?” He’s drunk and apologetic, she plays the victim card. They are both pretty disgusting.

Val has another night caller, it’s Nick. She doesn’t invite him to her room, she agrees to talk to him outside. She is a bit aggressive, he realizes they started off on the wrong foot, but he’d like to have a civil conversation with her. He won’t allow Arturo to ruin his project. If he chose her, it’s because he thinks she’s the best person to represent their product. And he now realizes she’s an honest woman. He’s spent a lot of time working on this project, so please, accept the contract and prove to everyone that Arturo was right in choosing her.
Valeria doesn’t look impressed; she obviously dislikes the fact that he mentions caring about his project above all else. But I have a feeling Nick will be able to convince her.

Adriana. Excellent. I'm team Nick. Arturo is just too goofy for my liking Nick also suggested to Val that he hoped she would consider the job for this one campaign. If she didn't like the job then she could resign I think that made an impression on her.

Daddy tending the scratches on Priscilla's forehead was a bit nauseating. The scratches don't look like anything a vase would have incurred.

Ofelia and her obsession with Mar is getting old. Hopefully Val and Mar will be able to help him. Another reason for Val to take the job. Then she can hire Hector to help Juan.

Excellent recap as always, Adriana!

Nick or Arturo?? It's an interesting question because practically speaking you need the help Nick is providing but emotionally it would feel like you need the emotional support of someone willing to get arrested so he can spend the night in jail with you so you wouldn't have to be alone. I'd be team Art if he'd recorded Prissy saying she'd drop the charges against Val if he took for back - and then published them to social media! But I'm team Nick because Art is sweet but Nick is going to get the job done.... we could debate being team Hector though, he seems impressed with Val too.

Maybe the maid could be bought? All she really needs is a new job after Prissy fires her and the Portilla's have a big mansion and a large company.

I thought it was written all over Cami's face that she didn't believe Prissy, she doesn't have the strength of character to admit it, but she knew her friend was lying and that her story made no sense. And Gracelia really bugged me too. Has she ever even met Val?? How easy it was for her to judge and condemn a woman she doesn't even know yet she doesn't seem to have a clue about the character of a woman who's been dating her nephew on and off for years!!! No one does, I still think that's weird. Prissy doesn't have the kind of crazy that is easily hid.

Ofelia saying Juan deserved jail because he tried to separate Mar from her mother would be funny if it wasn't pathetic.

I did hear Pura say "there is no father", but was confused as I didn't understand Silvana was artificially inseminated. Now the remark makes perfect sense.

I am sorry about your computer issues, they are so very frustrating! I hope everything gets resolved very soon.

Nick is practical and thinks with his head. Admirable qualities but he is a bit aloof. Arturo's heart rules his actions, he is kind and caring. Just for once, I'd like to see the heart persevere over rationale and logic.

I'm glad Pris' story is coming apart at the seams. It is baffling that Cami continues to champion her. I'm tired of Graciela's imperious disdain as well...Pris' father needs to get her psycholgical help immediately.

"Baby alert!!" indeed! No surprise there...

"Ofelia saying Juan deserved jail because he tried to separate Mar from her mother would be funny if it wasn't pathetic" is exactly right Darcy!

I can barely watch Leo and Paula. Leo is so weak, he gives an entire new meaning to "henpecked". How far he's fallen.

Thanks, Diana, I enjoyed your recap. I was relieved to hear that Circe was taking a selfie when she announced she was now a woman. I thought she was announcing it on a social media platform! I loved the parents walking in! Then his parents arrive! And the police. Good for his parents, let him take the rap if he took the money.

I think Tino and Aidé need to share their relationship with the kids. They really need to remove Facundo from their lives but that’s going to be tough! And i wish they’d discover how Fed is terrorizing poor Emi.

Thanks Adriana, I enjoyed your recap. I am not happy that everyone at the mansion believes Priscila and thinks Val is some kind of thug. I had liked Graciela at first, coming to live with them to help her brother. But she really leaped to conclusions on this.

Too bad Arturo didn’t récord Priscila’s attempt at bribery. She must not be too bright. She shows Arturo exactly who she is and thinks he’ll want that kind of person in his life.

I did like Arturo getting arrested to keep Val company. But I also liked Nick getting a lawyer. I have no idea who Val will end up with!

I am gleeful about the new guy, Saul. I can’t wait to see him upset the high and mighty couple, Paula and Leo!

And yes, It looks like Mar is pregnant. I was hoping it wouldn’t happen. So I think she will end up with Juan. Ofelia is going to be mad!

After reading your thoughtful comment, I now wonder if you might be right in that Circe WAS posting to social media. I hadn't thought she would actually do that but it certainly is possible.

That was quite a parade of people in Circe's bedroom, wasn't it? Wow!! I'm fairly sure Checo stole the money but...

Yes Tino and Aide do need to tell the kids what is going on.

Fed's actions are very dark and disturbing. I can't wait for her to get caught.

Adriana, thanks for yet another excellent recap of a very good episode. Nice movement on the plot lines with Valeria out of jail and her lawyer knowing that Valeria could not have caused the wounds that Priscila has. Loved Arturo telling Priscilla he knew she was lying and she was crazy. Ofelia more than made her point. When will her trial take place? Time for Ofelia to set Mar AND Juan free already. How long until Juan’s trial? Will he make it?

Does Juan Covarrubias specialize in playing sort of sleazy guys? He played one in “Vencer el desamor” and now one here. The only good guy I have seen him play was in “Mi marido tiene más familia

Darcy, you make an excellent point about Graciela being so quick to judge a girl she doesn’t even know over a woman who has surely made scenes before. We know that Art and Pris were on and off for years, and we've seen the huge scene she created when they broke up that last time. By now everyone should know her true character. Her bestie included.

Diana, sorry amiga, but I'm reserving a chair at Nick's table. Sure, Art spending the night in jail was a very romantic gesture, but it was also impulsive and reckless. I think the editing was done like this on purpose, showing Nick be all practical and focused while Art went around town telling everyone he'll help Val but do nothing for real. Confronting Pris only made her more mad, because he didn't go there with a plan, he acted on impulse yet again. Like Liz said, he could have at least tried to record her.

That being said, I'm surprised Val is still saying no, the guy is handsome and he did just spend a night in jail for her.

Jarifa, I 've seen COVARRUBIAS play galans also, but I was never sold on it. I keep remembering him as the lousy play-boy he used to be in Amor Bravio back in the day, I could never see him differently. I can't wait for Paula to show him her true face.

Dear Diana, wow, that was as quite an episode !!

So, did Circe and Cheeto actually do the Deed??

Fed is a horrible person . Her nasty grin makes it evident that she is enjoying tormenting sweet Emi. She started moving his wheelchair right after Tino left his room. I wish someone would catch her doing it.

Are Facundo and Fed still living at Aide's house? If so... Why ??

Even Scarlet now sees that Tino is the father who will be there for her.

It seems that Guz does not understand how to operate a face mask . It is usually on his chin or throat .

I wonder how long it will be before the bad guy I'd out of the coma and bank to threatening Tino?

Cher Adriana, merci, for another excellent account of all the drama.

So... we all keep pondering which brother Val will wind up with . The writers are being pretty tricky. Art is using his heart, while Nick is using his brain . The ideal guy is one who uses both . It would be so funny if Val ended up with Leo in the end after making him into a better man. I know that won't happen, but it would be funny.

So, how do they prove that BSC Priss bashed herself in the head ? I guess the maid is the key . I hope Art and\or Nick figures this out ,and the maid is promised a job and protection .

Yep, I just knew that one night of Unwedded bliss was going to result in motherhood for Mar....who cant even take care of herself .

Susan, I agree that Val needs a guy that knows how to use both his heart and his brain. For now we've only seen Nick use his brain because he's not in love with Val. He's just thinking about his business. But he does look impressed with the fact that she is not willing to work for them.
Art is using his heart, because he has the hots for Val, but he does have a brain ,aso, which was clear when he was trying to find ways to budget their project. For now Val needs to see his heart in order to be conquered, but he could become the charmer in her life while Nick becomes the fixer.

PAPAS #20 Part 1

Previously: When an angry Circe sees the pictures of Aidé and Tino that Facundo posted online, she invites Checo (using her room as his “hideout”) from the floor into her bed. Next, a parade of people crowd the room. Aidé and Tino are first, with Aidé and Circe having a heated exchange. As the words literally hang in the air, Lichita and Chano arrive. Naturally, Circe is shocked to see them as Checo told her that Chano was the gardener. Look me in the eyes Lichita says to her guilty as sin son, did you lie to her? Circe evaporates in tears, realizing Checo lied to her and is actually (gulp) poor! Cornered with no way out, Checo still decides to make a run for it. He gets outside and is immediately stopped and apprehended by two very official looking policemen. Circe screams at Tino she will never forgive him. Lichita turns and admits Tino wasn’t the one who called the police. Checo looks on incredulously realizing it was his parents who gave him up.

“Congratulations” Checo spits out toward his parents as he is cuffed and taken to the policemen’s car. Circe cries, comforted by Aidé. The police car roars off.

Aidé tells her daughter how dangerous Checo is. Tino admits that Checo was involved with the kidnapping plot regarding Emi and Scarlet. Naturally she refuses to listen and runs off.

Fed and Facundo talk and plot…when he makes a move to kiss her she says sorry (not sorry) and pushes him away. He doesn’t look crushed.

Circe and her parents’ argument continues. When Tino and Aidé talk alone, he takes full responsibility. The two are united and he kisses her hand.

At the police station, Checo, face contorted with fury, screams at his parents that he hates them. They try to maintain a semblance of being tough but after he leaves, Lichita and Chano break down.


Everything is taking a toll on Lichita and Chano’s relationship. She talks with Clara Luz about all the problems they are facing. Chano later turns up at Maxiclick where they argue again.

Tino and Aidé tell the children about their relationship but the news is not received joyously by all; it is clear Lila is not happy.

Clara Luz and Rudolf talk about children/Pipe but I couldn’t follow it.

PAPAS #20 Part 2

Aidé tries to talk with Circe without success. Circe tells her to leave and respect her. To her credit, Aidé isn’t put off and tells her daughter te amo. Circe lies back and cries.

“Jesus Christ” Igor manages, eyes wide as saucers seeing Chano entering the warehouse (where a huge help wanted banner hangs). He takes his measurements (much to Chano’s confusion) and they introduce themselves, Igor taking him by the hand.

Tino is looking for Fed and calls out for her…She sees him and purposely puts on earphones and comes into view, her back to him. She has on a black lace bra and panties and a lace cover up (or cover not in this case) she dances to the music and then pretends to be startled when she turns around and sees him. He is of course embarrassed and quickly turns away.

Aidé and Guzman have several conversations which seems to be good news although I can’t expand further.

Tino is apoplectic in his apologies to Fed. He tells her he respects her, after all she is the cousin of the love of his life. Ahhh she retorts, disappointed.

Aidé and Tino are reflected in the glass vase as he tells her he loves her. They pledge support to each other although they know it won’t be easy.

Scarlet believes her father will be upset when he learns of her relationship with Tino. Emi disagrees and says he won’t be upset because Facundo is Fed’s boyfriend! Scarlet is impactada!

Rudolf shares with Pura that he had a far from happy childhood. I believe he says his father was very violent. He tearfully relates a bit more and asks her to pardon him for getting so emotional. She says there is no need and she thanks him for his honesty.

Where is Checo Chofis asks? Lichita and Chano answer simultaneously but don’t tell her.

Tino asks Uli for a hug when he tells him he is on board with his parents’ relationship. Circe is in the shadows listening of course and upbraids Uli and throws him out of her room.

PAPAS #20 Part 3 of 3

Facundo shows up ready to see Scarlet and Aidé is not happy. He holds out a pink bag as Scarlet (looking sweet in a flowered vest and heart embellished shirt) walks toward him. “Hola pa” Scarlet manages. She calls him on being Fed’s boyfriend as he blanches. He immediately reports this to Fed who goes to Emi’s room and actually slaps him! She leans over to kiss him ensuring this “loving” gesture is seen by Circe who has just entered the room.

Rudolf, Clara Luz, Lichita and Chano are making a delish bundt cake with chocolate frosting, coconut and nuts.

Lila gives Tino attitude as he sweetly kisses the top of her head.

Emi is having nightmares as Lila enters his room. She assures him he is safe.

A series of short scenes: life continues at Maxiclick. We see Emi going to the doctor; Cheno working on an assembly line at Maxiclick; Checo refusing to see Lichita when she visits him in jail after which she cries.

We are next transported to the above-mentioned event. Circe is filming as Aidé is presented with an award. She gives a speech after which she introduces Tino (I believe we see the board members sitting in the second row). Tino ascends the stage and thanks everyone. When he introduces the video, things instantly go awry. Instead of the prepared presentation, pictures of him and Aidé kissing fill the screens! Everyone is startled and the last thing we see is the incredulous stares of Tino and Aidé, side by side.

Having a very hard time with the dialogue, I missed much and apologize. Kindly add what I missed and/or correct what I got wrong.

Thanks Diana, I enjoyed the recap. Tino and Aidé are going to have an up Hill battle with so many plotting against them. Aidé didn’t want anything to do with the bullirá from her youth but it’s her good friends from the present that are out to get her.

What Circe did to her parents is really low. My thought was if she ruins the business she will probably suffer the most.

I’m glad Scarlett knows about her father and Fed. Hopefully she’ll see her dad as he really is, which she’s already realizing. Tino acts more like her dad than Facundo.

Dear,Diana, thank you for yet another excellent review as the plot thickens.
Wow, Africa ( Fede) is bringing the bad . She has her cap set on seducing Tino . I guess she is done with Shallow Facundo.

I missed Fede slapping poor ,helpless Emi. What is going to happen now that he has told Scarlet about her dad and Fede? Is Frgoing to threaten Scarlet, too?

The cake making Interlude with the two couples was a nice break from all the evil doers.

Igor was certainly interested in Chano , while Chano seemed clueless, as he so often does.

I guess Rudolf's sad past is the reason he doesn't want kids . I think that will all change , and he, Clara Luz , and Pipe will form a nice family at the end.

My mother used to say " Don't cut off your nose to spite your face!" ...which is what Cice is doing . She doesn't seem to realize how those photos could affect her mother's business which provides her rich lifestyle .

Do we know if Aide Inherited the business or built it herself? Susan
 

Las hijas #24 part 1

Nick continues to try to persuade Val to take the modeling assignment. Ofelia spies on them from the window. I think Nick tells her her legal troubles will be easier to beat if she is employed, and that the company will help defend her from Priscilla's lawsuit. Val complains that Priscilla is super rich and an expert at lying. Will you accept Nick pleads ( Ofelia tries to put her ear to the glass to hear better, Mar awakens from her nap to ask what is she doing). Mar looks a bit green about the gills and mama asks what's wrong.

Val agrees to the job, but it's to make him eat his words. You told me I was selling myself for money ( their first encounter). I only want to be paid the going rate for your models. Not the absurd amount my mother tried to extort. Nick is happy to meet her demands. They will sign the contract tomorrow in his office. He thanks her sincerely.

Mar and Ofelia sit on the sofa as Val comes back inside. Ofelia wants to know what transpired. Val accuses her of hearing it all, but Ofelia says she wasn't able to hear anything ( probably true as Nick was soft spoken and Val was less hot headed than usual in her discussion with him). Val says there are other problems besides Priscilla. The company has used her photo all over the city. Tomorrow she and Nick will talk. Mar says you are the perfect image for the campaign ( glad she got over her snit). Ofelia says you can't go there alone, I'll go with you as your representative. Smart Val shuts her down.

Darn, a Susana scene. The Dr calls her about some test results on Gloria. She will go talk to him tomorrow. Juan's dad bemoans the fact they have no money or hope of earning money to help Juan which brings on Susana's waterworks again.

Juan is restless in his jail bed. One of the inmates makes disgusting remarks about what he would like to do to Mar. When is her next visit. Almost another jail fight but he refrains.

Luis and Arturo talk about Val's arrest. Luis tells him everything that happened to Val because of Priscilla is because of him and the games he is playing to win Val. Arturo tells Luis he has always been straight with Priscilla. Luis calls him out on it though. He just wants his son to become a better man.

Paula has a carafe of water and decides to put it over a passed out, drunken Leo. He wakes up spluttering, what's up! Paula chews him out as usual. She demands he gets her cover page back. He's the eldest son, primogeniture is alive and well in her brain. She screams at him like the harpy she is. Together they will get her cover page back as she hugs him.

Luis is holding his head. Graciela comes in his office, she will be going to the hospital about Gloria tomorrow. She asks what's wrong. He complains about Leo and the cover page. Graciela blames it on Paula. Luis says he can't ever tell her no. And now Arturo is infatuated with this girl. Graciela says your boys are rich and handsome. Luis says , yes, that's the problem ( money). Money solves all their problems. ( Is he going to cut them all off and make them earn their own way I wonder). Luis sighs heavily. (I think he is going to have a medical emergency at some point with the pill taking, heavy sighs, etc. he is an outburst away from a heart attack or stroke!)

Ofelia is ready to go to work and checks in on a sleeping Mar who still feels bad. Tired. Ofelia thinks she's faking it so she gets left home alone. Ofelia leaves, but first tries to convince Val she should go with her. No thanks. After she leaves Mar kinda admits she wants to stay away from the Portillo house, which Val agrees with. Val heads out with a good luck from Mar.

Luis is at the breakfast table when Paula enters. Luis wants to talk to her. She fires back, I want to talk to you too. Once again you have demonstrated that he is of no use to you in the business . Luis says it's my company and I make the decisions. She says you have no idea the damage you are doing to your son. That cover page wasn't for him but for me. I gave up my career when I married him. Luis disagrees. She claims I only want what's best fer Leo, but Luis says, no you just want what's best for you. He tells her to shut up as she continues to argue with him. I'm part of this family too she claims as she gets up and leaves the table. Luis once again puts his hands over his eyes and looks like he wants to pull his hair out.
Ofelia encounters Rocio outside the estate gates. she's read that one of the boys was arrested. Ofelia suggests she go inside and talk to Luis but she refuses.
Camila is in her room reading magazines when Graciela enters. She asks why are you still in PJs. Come with me to the hospital to see Gloria. The test results are back. Cami agrees to go.

Rocio and Ofelia argue a bit. O says she is the newe housekeeper. Rocio asks her name and Ofelia says Gloria ( huh, why?). Well this is the scene Rocio says she was the boys nana, but she had a fight with the parents. All she wants to know is the boys are well. Ofelia tells her to give her her number and she will call her. Rocio thanks her profusely,

Well Mar didn't learn her lesson. This time she goes to the jail in a crop top. At least she is wear jeans. She enters the visiting area. No Juan, but the cell ate that Juan nearly had a fight with is there and talks to her and grabs her. A guard pulls him off. Juan came in with the guard and castigates her for coming after he told her not to. He wants her to leave.

Val arrives at Nick's office. Val wants no benefit from the unauthorized use of her image. Nick accepts of course. She says fine. You can use my image for your line. Nick calls Hector to bring in the contract. Nick is a bit mesmerized by her.

Susana is visiting Gloria. She is talking to comatose Gloria and once again crying about Juan in jail. Cami walks in on her and thinks Gloria is dead or something. Gloria says no, gets up and Cami takes the seat . Cami tells Gloria she really misses her. Susana cries. Cami looks at Susana and says excuse me, you look really bad , are you sure nothing bad has happened to Gloria? Cami says I'm Camila Portillo, if Gloria needs anything out family will take care of it. No, its not Gloria, susans weeps. It's my son. Cami turns away as she mutters I hope it gets resolved soon. Susana then goes into the full story. My Juan is a good son. Well that catches Cami's attention. Susana apologizes for talking to her, a stranger. Cami actually tells her no problem, sometimes it's easier to talk to a stranger. Susana continues her saga, my Juan works from dawn to dusk as a driver...did ding, it's Cami's Juan, though she thinks this is way too coincidental. She asks if Susana has a photo. Of course on her phone. Cami is delighted to see it is her Juan!
Val signs her contract. Nick has an additional job for her. Talk to the press. Val is like Me! No way. Nick tells her she needs to say something or it will look bad ( I think this is about telling her side of the Priscilla story but not sure). He says telling about her part will be an inspiration. She begs to differ. My past sucks (my words). Nich argues that is what makes you inspirational. She says my dad died when I was young and I had to find work. Nick says, see, that is a story of strength the people need to know about you.
Cami can't believe it. No wonder he didn't answer my messages. He helped me so much. Cami asks why is he in jail. Susanna says he was accused of kidnapping, but it was his girlfriend. Susana says she has destroyed his life. Cami wants to know the whole story so she can help Juan.
Val says I'm no public speaker. Nick disagrees.

Kat, thank you for the recap, I was looking forward to your take on Nick and Val's talk. He did look mesmerized, you said it so well.
I think we can officially say we'll have a triangle. Funny how he managed to convince Val just by speaking in a civil maner, when Arturo, who she actually has the hots for, couldn't make it happen. Maybe because she doesn't trust him yet.

Do we know how sneaky Saul knows Art and what information he tried to get from him.?Art did not look suspicious of him , so he must know him pretty well.

Who did Paula call after she threw the water on drunk as a skunk Leo? I was surprised at how insolent and disrespectful she was with Luis. I can't wait to hear all about her mysterious past with Saul .


I put my beanie on in the scene between spoiled rich girl Cami and sobbing Susana. What a coincidence that Susana's Juan is the same Juan Cam is crushing over .... sure .

I wonder who will first suspect that Mar is pregnant... Val? Ofelia?Mar ?

*Val needs to interview with the company PR people. Nick and Arturo will help her, they will talk about the designs, etc. also you need to have more photos taken. Val throws her hands up in disgust. More photos? (I had to laugh. Did she really think that one candid shot taken by Arturo was it for a modeling contract of sportswear. She wasn't even wearing one of their designs.
*Arturo meets with Saul. Seems they've lost touch. Saul asks how are your brothers. Good. Working with Dad, Leo married Paula. Saul asks, Paula? Saul asks for his number,email, etc. Saul mentions some business venture Arturo may want to invest in. Arturo says his funds are currently tied up in the business as he tells him about their new athletic line.
*Graciela tells Luis about her visit to Gloria and that Cami went with her. She ran into the mother of a friend there that is having problems. Luis is glad Cami got out of the house. He wishes she would show an interest in working or school. Graciela says have patience, Cecilia's death was hard on her. Luis misses the days when the table was full with Cecilia and the children. He says now he fights with all of them. If not for Graciela he'd be completely alone. She wisely says they are grown up with lives of their own. Graciela promises to stay with him as long as he needs her.
*Arturo is with Nick. I have great news. I've found an investor! Nick asks, do you trust him?. Nick says he doesn't have a lot of money but he'll help us with expenses. Nick tells Arturo I have good news too, Val signed already. Arturo wonders how. Nick says I talked to her and convinced her to sign.
*Val is cooking. Mar comes home. Mar tells her she went to see Juan. One of the guys there touched me. Juan no longer wants to see me.
*Arturo wonders how Nick convinced her. Nick laughs, I must be more charming than you. Arturo is not amused. Nick admits he simply talked with her and convinced her. Nick says, you know, she is a different type of woman .yup, I know. Arturo says neither I nor her mom could talk her into it, but you managed. She must have changed her opinion of you. Nick admits he apologized to her.
*Ofelia is in Luis office and finds his address book. She finds the name she is looking for and writes it on a scrap of paper. Paula walks in. Ofelia says she's is cleaning, it's her job...she puts the address book back in the drawer. Paula observes it all as we observe Paula's peek a boo cleavage....
*Susana and Cami are talking. Susana says they have no money to help Juan. Cami promises to help. She would like to see him. Being put in the way of women with ambition which a poor man can't measure up to is wrong. Cami agrees, she knows women like that.. Susana says she hasn't met anyone like that awful Ofelia Garcia. Cami says s Which daughter is the novia? Mar. She is the cause of all our problems.
*Paula is reading a magazine. Joseph Maria she murmurs... Where is my phone. Looks like she arranges to meet him in person.
*Ofelia invades Priscilla's house demanding to see her. Priscilla is busy the maid says. Ofelia says, no problem, ill just wait here for her and she takes a seat.
*Cami is working on dad to help pay for a good lawyer for Juan, not some public defender as he is poor. She wants Hector to go with her to the jail and talk with him. Dad Dad says hire a lawyer yourself for him. Then he earns her not to go to the jail to see Juan.
The maid pulled Priscilla away from whatever she was busy with . She confronts Ofelia and demands to know what is she doing there. Mama bear is defending Val and she tells Priscilla she needs to retract her lies. Priscilla says I have a witness and proof. O says no you don't. My daughter is way better than you and Arturo loves her, not you. My daughter's are sweet innocents, but not me. Either you retract your statement or suffer the consequences.

I had to shake my head at Susana and Cami's meeting. Susana going on and on and Cami politely commiserating but then turning her head away. "Juan" certainly got her attention. I fear this unholy duo are going to make life even more of a living hell for Mar. She shouldn't have gone to see Juan I agree but she loves him and is worried.

Graciela continues to make excuses for Cami. Poor little rich girl.

Arturo noticed right away Nick had success with Val where he did not. It seems the tide is turning already.

Susan, I'm surprised Ofelia didn't jump all over Mar as she is obviously not feeling well. I think she'll be the first to suspect.

Jarifa, it would be nice to see Val engaged in a pleasant conversation rather than fighting eveything and everyone.

I remain concerned for and about Juan...

Art looked like he was picking up on how impressed Nic is with Val, I'm looking forward to the triangle too! It is interesting how Nic was able to convince Val when no one else was but then she didn't really have any expectation of Nic. With Ofelia she could object because Of just wanted to use her to further her own ambition and with Art she could object because she thought he was just playing games with her to win her over; but Nic just came with a sincere and straightforward request, plus he was smart enough to list out all the reasons why saying yes would benefit Val.

Ick, Susana has a new best friend and she bad mouths Mar even more. So over it. I can't root for Mar and Juan even if Mar is pregnant (and we all know she is). There is way too much toxicity around this relationship, and I don't see how either Mar or Juan has the strength of character it would take to overcome that.

I was all team Luis when he was telling Cami that if she wanted a lawyer for Juan, she could pay for it herself, but he ruined it by telling her she was not to go to the prison!! Dude, is she an adult who needs to fight her own battles? Or a child who can be told where she can and cannot go? Pick ONE

I thought it was strange Ofelia gave Gloria’s name to Rocio. I guess she’s going to try and find out more about Rocio and doesn’t want the family knowing it’s her. She’s into everybody’s business. Thank goodness Val stopped her and went to sign the contract alone. But Ofelia will have a fit that she didn’t get the money Ofelia would have gotten. She’ll also have a fit when she finds out Mar is pregnant. And why did she think she could get Priscila to admit the truth.

I wonder if Leo realizes how Paula spoke to his dad. She sure isn’t helping Leo. And only someone with a maid would por water on someone in their bed.

I’m a little worried about this Saúl guy. Is Arturo letting him invest in their business. They better be careful.

Diana, I'm reading your recap while watching the episode and adding where I can. If I repeat what others have cleared up already, I apologize.

Poor Lichita. She cries to Clara luz that she thought when her kids got older that things would be easier, but they are worse than ever. And she has 2 more to worry about coming up behind Checo. Clara luz tries to comfort her, this too shall pass. She (Clara) will be a good mother to Pipe....

In the police station (youth detention center) Lichita and Chano are told that Checo will likely remain there until he's 18.

Oh I really enjoyed Clara Luz and Rudolph s conversation. She tells him about a friend that has an adolescent son that she is having problems with. It made her realize becoming a parent is for life. She is an adult herself, but her other still worried about her. On top of that you lose site of all your dreams because your child comes first. Clara luz isn't ready to be referred to as the mother of...insert child's name...now, or probably ever. Rudolph is in total agreement with her. She says we have to walk away from Pipe.

Aide and Guzman. She chews him out for not keeping her in the loop when she was in the hospital and also for letting Facundo know he has shares in the company. She says you and Igor didn't let me know the investors, shareholders, were going to throw me over as chairman. Guzman pleads illness and he had no idea. She says and Igor, was he also sick? Guzman claims they kept things from her for her health, I think. I didn't quite follow this part.

Guzman tells Aide they've been friends from prep school, more than 25 years. They have a shared bond as the bullied kids. He would never betray her. He says that the business partners were very impressed with Tino's presentation. Televisa was mentioned as being interested in the pitch. That was why Aide was so happy.

Scarlet wants to be Emi's girlfriend when they are older. She flirts with him.

Fede is counseling Aide. It may take a while to sell her pricey real estate. I think she alludes that having a public relationship with Tino will make it seem like nepotism in the firm and she should hold back on making it public. Lila overheard this conversation.

In Rudolph's tale to Pura he mentions being one of eight children. His father was abusive. M question is how did he, Luchita, Tino, Chano and Clara luz attend what I assume was a pricey prep school? Make it make sense. 1 maybe on scholarship I could see, but all of them?

I swear the ch family uses every ch words in the dictionary! It's driving me crazy. I look them up and promptly forget them ( chamba=job)

Facundo tells Aide he is going to work in her company as he is a shareholder.

Fede didn't actually hit Emi. She had told him if he told her secret she would put a bomb in his chair and she could set it off like 'poof' she claps her hands in front of his face.

Circe and Lila are joining forces to separate the parents. Lila tells Circe about the important presentation coming up at maxiclik.

Liz, I'm A LOT worried about Saul, he might cause big trouble along the way.
It was high time the novela had a real villain, Paula is a nuissance and a pest but she's not worthy of such honor.

Diana, Art definitely saw that Val listened to Nick more than to him.
As Darcy said, I guess she was expecting him to be agressive again and when he acted with civility and gave her reasonable arguments, even hothead Val couldn't say no. With Art there is always the risk of a double intention, Nick made it clear he only cares about his business (for now).
Art might have her heart, but Nick could gain her respect.
Camila and Susana bonding is a beanie moment ×100.

Jarifa, I almost screamed at my TV when I saw what Mar was wearing to go to freakin' prison!!! Her clothes are never appropriate, the show wants us to see her as the ingenue, but it's a huge mess.

Susan, I was actually impressed to see that Paula talked so badly to Luis, at least she's not a hypocrite who pretends to be nice while putting nasty thoughts in her husband's mind.

Aide kept her usual calm, cool and collected when she was talking to Guzman. I keep wondering if his incessant "I'm sick" will somehow be prophetic. He is such a sleaze.

So it was Fed's conversation with Aide (which I couldn't follow) that gave Lila the inspiration for her and Circe's deceit. I'm not surprised at Circe but I am at Lila. She is younger and perhaps she didn't realize the devastating consequences that will likely ensue. I'm not excusing her though.

Thank you for correcting me in that Fed didn't hit Emi. I was typing and her motion seemed to mirror that.
