Caray, Caray!

PAPAS #54 Part 1

Previously: Clara Luz told a totally caught off guard Felipe she could not go away with him. She has just learned she is Pipe’s mother and (shockingly) that Rudolf is Pipe’s father (which Rudolf initially vehemently denied). Through flashback, the truth was pieced together. Silvana wanted children but it turned out Silvana was infertile. She had a crush on Rudolf and she decided he would be the donor. Somehow, she talked Ana into giving her Rudolf’s emissions after they had sex.

Guzmán has evilly ensured Aidé has been unable to find a job. Things go from bad to worse for Aidé when Facundo sold his Maxiclick shares to Guzmán.

In court, Jason seemed to represent himself and Paulina in the custody hearing. In the last scene, the judge talked about medical treatment being available for Emi in the US. (As no one has posted that I got this wrong), I believe she gave custody of Emi and Lila to Paulina.

Tino shakes his head in disbelief as Fed holds his shoulders with reassurance.

Felipe confronts Clara Luz and she confirms what she has told him was the truth. He looks crushed and she holds him tightly.

Rudolf is confronting Ana about Pipe; we see a flashback of Silvana talking with Ana, she is going to pay her to have sex with Rudolf and explains what she wants her to do. Ana protests that she isn’t that kind of girl but the look on her face when Silvana shows her the phone with an (assuredly obscene) amount of money says otherwise. Back in the present, Ana and Rudolf continue to argue; she stalks off.

Aidé shows Facundo something on her computer and he seems upset. Facundo confronts Guzmán but physically backs off when Guzmán advances. Aidé and the children (still at Facundo’s) get an unwelcome visit from Guzmán who is upset for some reason I’m not following. Circe and Uli rush to their mother’s defense. If someone can translate, kindly do so.

Rudolf and Clara Luz sit and discuss the amazing turn of events. She laments Silvana’s betrayal. We are the biological parents of Pipe she tells him. She puts her head on his shoulder.

Facundo and Scarlet are perusing some very expensive games on his phone. She holds adorable Ponce in her arms. Aidé is not pleased.

Bertha and her grandchildren are with Augusto. They fill her in on Guzmán’s visit. She tells them about custody. Later they walk with Tino who reassures his kids and gives them a huge hug and a kiss on their heads.

PAPAS #54 Part 2

Rudolf and Chano meet simultaneously as Clara Luz and Lichita. They impart their news to their respective besties.

Igor comes in with important documents and Guzmán completely blows him off.

Chofis is surprised by her friend (in a lavender fishnet top and lime green jumper) popping out like a jack in the box to harass her about her love life.

Felipe and Tino talk as Aidé arrives. She and Tino stare at each other. They start arguing about Fed…

Bertha talks with Jason and Paulina. Hearing her tone, Jason asks her to respect Paulina. Bertha starts in again as Lila runs in. Jason says “Emi” in a warm greeting when he comes in. Paulina puts on a good act herself. They leave Emi alone with Bertha.

Rudolf and Clara Luz arrive back at the monastery and run into Pipe’s arms. All of a sudden Guzmán (whom one of the brothers had called) rushes in saying “no, no, no”. The brothers interfere and one kneels down to Pipe’s level as Pipe stares sternly at his parents.

Uli and Circe plead Tino’s case to Aidé; he is a great father. I think they tell her that Paulina got custody of Emi and Lila (?) which she didn’t realize.

An unsmiling Pipe says he doesn’t care about Clara Luz and Rudolf. Clara Luz kneels and they tell Pipe how much they care about and love him. Clara Luz ruffles his hair and he yells. The brothers take Pipe away. Guzmán walks them to the gate and chains it behind them.

Jason and Paulina are with Lila. Tino comes in and gently ushers Lila out of the room. Then he unceremoniously kicks Jason and Paulina out.

Back at Facundo’s, he is telling Aidé this is HIS house. He has liquor and food laid out as a bunch of free-loading partygoers arrive. Aidé wants the kids to go to their room. The guests start taking pics with Uli. The music blares as a group pic is taken, Aidé hugging the wall. Facundo starts chants of their being a grand family which fill the air. Aidé stares in horror, seeing Uli chugging drinks, spilling some on one of the partygoers.

PAPAS #54 Part 3 of 3

Lichita and Chano talk with Felipe, Rudolf and Clara Luz…

Facundo’s party (replete with strobe lights) is still going strong. Aidé questions Uli about Circe and Checo. He admits it. She calls Circe and wants her home immediately. We see Circe is indeed with Checo.

Oliver comes in through Chofis’ window. She kindly but firmly says she is not ready for a physical relationship…

Circe and Checo show up to talk with Aidé. She says she will give him a chance and he is grateful. Aidé complains about Facundo, which poor Scarlet doesn’t understand. She asks her youngest to try and understand which she doesn’t.

Tino tells the children they are going with Paulina. Bertha sitting in a chair, looks crushed. Surprisingly, Lila hugs Tino and apologizes but she loves her mother. Bertha is crying as the four embrace, tears running down their cheeks.

Aidé and her children show up. Is she going to move into Tino’s or did I misunderstand?

In a pivotal, shocking moment, we see one of the guests at Facundo’s pulling out a mask from the closet. He puts it on and dances around the room. OMG is it “THE” mask?

Frustratingly difficult to understand dialogue tonight. Other than the last scene, I don’t believe anything earthshattering transpired tonight, kindly correct me if I am wrong. Thank you for your comments and additions, I am very grateful.

Las hijas # 58 part 1

Amparo reminds Val that she promised not to say anything about what she disclosed. Val doesn't understand why she spoke then. It's so you open your heart to your mother and help her.

Mar and Juan continue to argue outside the hospital. He grabs her by the shoulders as they fight and of course some paparazzi are there to snap some photos. Thanks Paulina.

Gloria returns to Susana's house, way too soon for her to have gone to the mansion. Susana and Cami are mad she won't denounce O. Gloria says she has been punished enough already, and she didn't do anything to her. By the grace of God she recovered. She's going back to her village to spend time with her grandson and live in peace. Cami and Susana are livid.

Mar returns home, she needs to speak to Mama. She's on her phone looking for her number( isn't mom in her favorites to speed dial?). Good old Paula asks what happened. Mar tells her. The paparazzi took photos? Oh, you are in big trouble then .

Cami is totally dissallussioned with Gloria and runs away to her room, as usual. Gloria counsels a seething Susana that she is to be Cami's guide and mother figure now. Let go of the rancor. Family is the most important thing. My daughter got a job so I am going back to help with my grandson. Hopefully you will be blessed with a grandchild also. Susana seems to agree, we'll see if she changes her tune.

Paula pumps Mar for information about the photographer. It just so happens to be the newspaper she knows. It's your lucky day. She'll call him right now. Mar thanks her effusively.

Juan tracks dad down at work. ( He's in construction, no wonder he is tired all the time). Juan tells him how Mar is messing with his head. When will he forget her and live his life with Cami?

O has some groceries. Val pounds on the door. She's quite cruel to her. So much for Amparo trying to get her to help her. Of course she was quite right in her criticism, but it's mean to kick someone when they are down.

Paula speaks with chemo who agrees to kill the story, earning Mar's gratitude of course. Paula says you can always count on me.

More arguing by Val with o trying to calm her down. I'm getting really tired of Val. If she is the main protagonista in this show she wins no points with me.

Paula tells Mar neither of them are part of the family. They need to be united. Mar is all in.



 

Las hijas #58 part 2

The lady of Guadalupe statue makes a return, though I guess they had 2. It must have filled half of O's suitcase. She places it on a shelf and lights a candle. She prays for both her daughters and her grandbaby. I know you understand my girls are my everything.

Paula waylays Luis when he returns home. She's worried about Mar. She was pretty upset when she got back from her OB appointment. Is anything wrong. He knows nothing but he'll afk her. No don't do that, I don't want her to think I'm meddling. Ok. Luis won't say anything to her.

A teary Val runs into Nico in the hallway of the apartment building. It's mom. Either she says I can't believe how much she is suffering, or how much she is making me suffer. But it requires a hug as she cries on his shoulder.

Mar is talking to baby. Luis comes in. He asks is everything ok, how did the Dr visit go. Mar looks like she wants to confess, but foolishly she says nothing about the reporters, just that the visit was fine and runs off to the bathroom or something.

Val apologizes for crying on Nick's shoulder. She is discombobulated. Her entire way of thinking of her mother has been changed. Nick invites her into his apartment to talk.

Paula has been sent the incriminating photos as she chuckles in pleasure. Chema calls
Why don't you want them published? Youve been paid well for them she says and they will be put to good use.

Mar comes out from the dressing room in her robe ready for bed. Luis asks why are you avoiding me. Are you sure all is well with the baby. She confesses she didn't see the doctor. When she got to the hospital Juan was there looking for her. Luis is mad, what is he doing there. Mar has no idea, he claims I sent him a message but I didn't. Here, check my phone. He says the thing I most admire about you is your honesty. Next time I'm going with you to your appointment. She wants that, and she does not want Juan near her.

Val and Nico talk over their coca-cola....Val tells him her mother had a really sad past and it has changed how she has viewed her childhood and present. Nick bonds over his mother keeping her fatal heart condition from them. He tells her he's sure her mother never said anything because she wanted to protect them. Val then says something I didn't catch but that surprises Nick.

Jacinto returns home dying of hunger. He must be the foreman, his white dress shirt is spotless, and since when do construction workers wear white button up shirts? Susana complains to him about Gloria not ratting out O. She just thinks she should be left in peace. Jacinto says I told you the same thing repeatedly. They are not in agreement. ( I wonder if there is a past between Jacinto and O that has made Susana so vengeful).

Val keeps grabbing Nick's hand. She thanks him for always helping her see things more clearly and for listening to her. He so wants to kiss her, but pulls back. It's late, time for rest. Val leaves. For some reason Nick has a large chess piece in his hand and it looks like a pawn; he returns it to the coffee table. I expected it to be the coke bottle again.

Juan is getting in his car to go work when a Portillo chauffeur accosts him. Senor Portillo needs to talk to you. Off they go in the Portillo SUV. Jacinto is watering a bush and notices them leave.
 

Las hijas #58 part 3

Val, wearing another pretty dress, brings a coffee to Nick's office with a thank you note, leaving it on his desk. As she backs out of the room she collides with Nick. He is rude to her, she can't be in his office like that, her place is in the studio. . How rude. He hands her back the coffees. She tosses it in the trash and goes away to her "place". He looks at her note Que tengas un buen dia 😀. He seems happy to read it, after he just ruined Val's morning.

Jacinto tells Susana Juan was spirited away in one of the Portillo's care and he has no idea why.

Val is modeling. She grabs her phone and calls Mar. They set up a meeting at her apartment, it's about mom. Arturo comes in and they kiss, they missed each other. He wonders about her talk with Amparo. Val says it's complicated. Of course things always are complicated when it comes to mom.

The maid fields a call from the gallery. They need to speak with Paula. It's actually Amparo pumping her for information about the painting she bought (with O in the background). I'm not actually sure what is said. I think the "gallery" wants to give her a gift for purchasing the painting and Paula says the gallery name. Can someone clarify this scene for me?

The galeria Cortes Amparo tells a gleeful O. Finally he will be able to prove it was Paula behind the painting caper. She will prove it was Paula that bought the paint, and with Rocio's secret she can search out senor Portillo and prove she is not his enemy. That it was Paula and not her. Amparo hopes it works. O is confident, and then she will be able to return to the mansion to protect Mar and discover which of the Portillo's is Rocio's son. ( O is wearing another outfit we haven't seen before).

Nick and Arturo discuss the launch. Nick mentions Paula, she was promised the host job. Arturo doesn't want her involved.

O goes to the gallery wanting to know who bought the painting that was delivered to the Portillo house. ( She didn't think this out well). He tells her you bought it.

Juan is brought to a restaurant to talk to Luis. They argue. Luis doesn't want him near Mar or hurting his daughter. Juan insists Mar sent him a text. Lots of fist banging on the table by both of them. Luis is livid but doesn't have a heart attack...

I think the judge is going to give a final verdict in a week. Meanwhile Paulina and Jason are allowed visitation without Tino in attendance.

I'm not sure the Facundo shares are a dime deal. Aide told Facundo that Guzman didn't offer him enough money for them I think so Facundo thinks Guzman is ripping him off. Guzman then confronts aide about her messing up his deal with Facundo and she yells at him for everything he has done to her, including blackballing her.
 

Felipe and Tino are talking about work. Aide comes because Felipe is hiring her as part of his new business. They are going to be working together. If Fede was mentioned, it didn't register with me.

I think Scarlet had illusions her parents were getting back together. Aide corrected her that it was never going to happen.

Yes, aide is moving in. I also think she says that just as he was there for her twins as a father figure, so will she be for his kids. I wonder if they will get married show a stable relationship.

When Clara Luz ruffled Pipe's hair she pulled a hair for DNA.

Yes it was the mask. I guess that makes Facundo the abuser. Well we all hate him anyway so that works for me.

I forgot to mention in this portion that Fede offered herself as a mother figure in Tino's life so he can keep the kids. I guess a grandmother who has raised a child ( Emi) from birth doesn't count with this judge.

I appreciate your noting the judge's decision wasn't quite final (although it seemed it). Fed as a mother figure? Oh my, eyeroll! "I guess a grandmother who has raised a child ( Emi) from birth doesn't count with this judge" was sad to read.

Smart of Clara Luz to pull one of Pipe's hairs. Hopefully, this will lead to the truth sooner rather than later.

I'm glad Aide is moving in; hopefully she and Tino can resolve their differences.

I think the mask being at Facundo's is a red herring. He's despicable but I don't think he is guilty. Of this, at least.

How disappointing for Cami and Susana with Gloria admitting she really didn't know what happened on the stairs. She might have been unstable on her own feet!

YES!: "I'm getting really tired of Val. If she is the main protagonista in this show she wins no points with me." What a pill!

I still only like Mar and Luis.

Thank you for your exceptional recap Kat.

"Luis is livid but doesn't have a heart attack..." was a perfect descriptive. I keep thinking Luis has a dark side we haven't be privy to (likely due to the villains Cantu usually plays). Juan seemed relatively calm and (mostly)unafraid. A small does of fear might be in order here.

Susana and Cami chastising Gloria was rather sickening. These two are the worst.

Paula manages to wheedle herself back in Mar's good graces no matter what she does. Mar needs to get a clue.

Ofelia just forges ahead, acting without thinking. All of this is going to backfire on her.

So Nick is going to be nasty to Val and hurt her feelings. Poor Val. Daughter #1 also needs to get a clue.

Juegos #15

I'm going to post some highlights from last night's episode as I recall them.

Francisco is an old lecher but Karina isn't going to fall for his bull. She won't smear her soon to be ex and father of her child. ( She has some moral fiber at least) He wants her fired from the campaign. Enrique won't oblige. Ines also wants her gone. Enrique let's her know that she knows about Adrien being the one responsible for the boy's death.

Omar now realizes he likely killed an innocent man. Why no notice in the paper and what about the gun he left behind but Enrique insists his son has nothing to do with it.

Elena discovers her son has a girlfriend and she is pregnant. But she doesn't know who the girl is. She and Omar aren't actually divorced, they have been separated a long time. It seems he lost his life savings in the bank scandal that Luciana's father was incriminated in, hit the bottle hard which destroyed their marriage. He is now a recovering alcoholic. (He refused the drink German offered when he was in Enrique's office.). Both he and Elena are excited to learn they will have a grandchild to remember their son by. Susy, the mother to be, is at the store when this is revealed. She doesn't say anything though. Omar keeps complaining about her eating extra on the job. The pregnancy will start showing pretty soon at this rate.

The opponent to Enrique has discovered that the fiero (Roberto) still has questions about the Salta a incident and thinks a cover up is in progress. The boss at the police station calls him to task for leaking information. Roberto didn't do it. Boss wants him to swear to no longer pursue the closed matter and get switched to some other cases or be put on leave. In the end Roberto gets fired. Joaquin seems happy which makes me suspect he was the leak. But I was wrong. Turns out it was Victoria. She came to Roberto's place to tell him take the offer the boss gave you. Or what I did will be for naughty. She loses her necklace on his rug, which I imagine will have some future significance.

Natalia and Daniel meet and perhaps they had a moment. They discuss the money stealing case and the missing Fabiola with Luciana present.
The coincidences are piling up they all think. figured he and Alex were end game, but I like this pairing better. Alex does not deserve a nice guy like him. Alex and Adrian try to get it in at her house while her folks are out but Adrian can't function as he flashes back to the accident. She looked less than enthusiastic during their major session so she wasn't feeling it either.

Luciana had told Roberto early in the episode that Gaby is not ready for her parents to have new novios so they need to wait to advance their relationship. I the end scene Enrique appears at Karina's house for a booty call. Gaby overheard their noisy lovemaking in the hallway. She is on the stairs and sees them, though I'm not sure she actually saw Enrique's face. But he has a distinctive voice so pretty sure she knows who it is.
 

Juegos. Sorry about all the typos. As most of you know by now I write everything on my phone and the text beyond the first 5 lines isn't visible to me so I miss a lot of typos or autocorrects in the process. It's really hard to make corrections. Naughty should be nought. Major= make out session are two that really jumped out at me.

I may continue to do these one comment posts on juegos the next day going forward if the interest is there.

I agree that the lion mask found in Facundo's closet was a red herring . I am sure that awful Guz is the monster behind the mask.

I am glad that Aide sent to Tino's. She and her kids need support from people who love them , and To no and Berthe do.

I wondered why Guz was at the monastery. I also wondered why Pipe jumped away when Clara hugged him. It was good that she got some of his hair.

I think Guz may have messed up by not listening to Igor. He probablyv ignored something that will come back to bite him .

One of the brothers had called Guzman to tell him Clara Luz and Rudolf had come there. He must have made up some story that he needed to hide Pipe from some unscrupulous people. He is just horrid.

I didn't realize she'd pulled a hair from Pipe's sweet head! I thought he was just being melodramatic. My bad :)

Ernesto does have a great smile. I suspect we won't see much of it when Paulina is revealed, which can't come quickly enough for me.

Thanks for the post. I find myself liking Karina. I also like Enrique. I am also wondering if Ines is more like her father than we know! This has me very conflicted as K and E are supposed to be bad guys, and I looks pure as driven snow! Now I wonder…

The necklace would be a problem if Luci sees it, for sure. It might also tie him unfairly to the crooked cops. Might she have left it on purpose? Convenient that it has her name on it!

It’s hard to tell good guys from bad! I am still wondering about the police chief.

What will Fiscal Furia do now? Private investigation? Some of this reminds me of Imperio de mentiras and Secretos de familia. Who do you trust?

Babachita, I agree, I like discussing while fresh in my mind. Wed and Thurs I have no other recap duties so those nights I will likely watch at the scheduled time. i was a bit of an insomniac last night so I watched it at 11 after I finished Las hijas and added to Papas.

I also am confused about who to dislike in this show and who are the bad cops. Bertha is on the take. Victoria probably likes Roberto so she probably isn't crooked but she is out to get her guy. Ditto on Joaquin wanting the girl..

Francisco is a main villain and yes, his daughters may take after him. Memo and German are on the bad guy side also. I'm not liking Adrian, wish he had gone with his gut and called 911after hitting Tobias.

I like the pairing of Roberto and Luci.

I think the whitehaired cop is good . He is one of my favorite actors , and I have seen him in many , many telenovelas . He plays both good and bad equally well.

The necklace that redheaded cop (Victoria)was wearing accidentally fell off while she was rubbing her neck. She stands out to me because I have quite a few redheads in my family.

Gaby saw Enrique's back when she was on the stairs . I don't think that she saw his face . I am keeping my comments short before they disappear. Susan

Nothing keeps O down for long . Yes, her daughters are everything to her as she fights to push and drag them out of poverty , but her methods are not effective and have hurt them more than helped them. Our daughters mean everything to me, too, but to me getting a good education and being good people is the advice that helps the most.

Paula is the only person who seems happy at this point as she sits around all day in her tight, monochromatic sheath dresses doing nothing but scheme and dream. Will we ever see jailed Saul again ? Will ever find out exactly what Paula's mysterious past is,?

I laughed out loud when Juan jumped when Luis slammed the table just as Juan sat down. The dishes shook and so did Juan. Ha susan

O wasn't down long . She is up and scheming again. Yes, her daughters mean everything to her, but her pushing and dragging them to get out of poverty hasn't helped. Our daughters mean everything to me, too, but I think that getting a good education and being good people is the way to a good, happy life .

The guy that O talked to at the gallery is the same guy who watched quietly as Paula enthusiastically slashed each family member in that portrait . Will he eventually tell someone ??? Is he her friend ?

Susan, I think Saul is in jail. I'm sure the gallery owner is another special friend of Paula's. She likely has many given, her shady past.

I agree, raising good children and now grandchildren is what we should strive for as parents. Juan must have been more influenced by dad, his mom is horrible.

Thanks Diana, I enjoyed your recap. And Kat, thanks for the details. I think Guzman didn’t have time for Igor because he was heading to the monestery.

I had to watch the shows today on my iPad because my cable has a red X on the screen. They usually can help you over the phone but this time they couldn’t so I’m waiting for a technician.

I thought the mask meant Facundo was the guilty one. He’s a self-centered idiot but I was surprised to see the mask. I hope everyone is right and I’m wrong!

The judge is making her decision next week and Fed is supposed to make sure Paulina gets Lila and Tino gets Emi. Not sure how she can do that. Right now it looks like the judge will be giving them both to Paulina. With the needed care for Emi in the US it seems they’ll both go with Paulina. Unless Aide can show she’s a maternal figure to the kids. And did she just show up at Tino’s? She was in the lobby of Facundo’s building and then she was at Tino’s!

Anonymous, I'll continue to post my rundowns. It's always difficult learning new characters early on. Not to toot my own horn too much, but I've only been at my Spanish learning a bit over 2 years. I did take French in high school and college, but that was over 40 years ago. These Telenovelas and reading recaps from this blog have helped a lot. And Duolingo. I'm up to level 111 there. Just finished a telenovela section. 8 breezed through that. My biggest challenge is verb tenses.

Liz, the party at Facundo's was the last straw for Aide. Also, after the twins told her about his legal troubles, she decided she would help him. Tino is more than happy to take her in as she did the same for him when he first stayed with her.

Yes Guzman was putting out the pipe fire. Not sure what Igor needs that is so urgent. Hopefully something bad.

I agree that Emi needs to go to the US for his medical care even if it means a short stay with Paulina and Jason.

So sorry about your cable! I've never seen or heard of your issue with the "X" but I hope they can fix it quickly.

I'm just not seeing Facundo as Uli's tormentor although I might well be wrong. I think the owner of the mask will be revealed in dramatic fashion. Having an inebriated guest find and wear it seems too obvious (famous last words :))

"The judge is making her decision next week and Fed is supposed to make sure Paulina gets Lila and Tino gets Emi. Not sure how she can do that. Right now it looks like the judge will be giving them both to Paulina. With the needed care for Emi in the US it seems they’ll both go with Paulina" makes perfect sense! You are right though that Aide's appearance on the scene might change things for Emi who seems to care for her a great deal already. It won't be the same case for Lila though who's made it clear she prefers her biological mother to Tino. I don't think Lila holds Aide in particularly high regard. For now. When she finds out what her mother is really like, that will all change.

OT..verb tenses,
Kat , English has 12 Active Voice verb tenses . Teaching them to foreign students is a challenge , and from what I thought understand , Spanish verb tenses are even more complicated . I am impressed by how quickly you have learned Spanish . Susan

Thanks Kat, that was excellent. I had to watch this on my iPad also but apparently they didn’t show the whole show because there was a lot of I didn’t see. So thanks for filling in all the blanks! It sounds like Val was with Nick in most of her scenes and not Arturo. I wonder if my tv recorded it without letting me get on. I have a new box, curtesy of the cable guy. I should try to watch it again if my tv recorded it.

I wonder why Arturo doesn’t want Paula involved. They were all on board to use her for that job when they spoke to Leo. I wonder what changed his mind.

I’m glad Gloria changed her mind. I was hoping it was because she remembered what really happened but it seems she’s ready for a peaceful life. She better say goodbye to her cousin, I don’t see Susana or Camila being peaceful anytime soon. Maybe never!

PAPAS #55 Part 1

Previously: While the judge has not rendered a final decision, Paulina and Jason have been granted unsupervised visits with the children.

Clara Luz plucked a hair from Pipe’s head so that a definitive DNA test can be done.

The infamous mask is pilfered from Facundo’s closet by a partygoer who wears it dancing around the room.

Aidé and her children end up moving to Tino’s. She vows to support his children as he has hers.

Tonight, Aidé thanks Tino and Bertha hustles the kids out of the room. Their shared living arrangement will be strictly platonic. Do you accept? Yes he answers.

The kids (and Ponce) are all gathered together. Scarlet is very happy. Uh oh, there are a myriad of pained and shocked expressions when they realize there is only one bathroom!!

Lichita and Chano talk with Clara Luz and Rudolf. Being a parent is a huge responsibility Felipe declares solemnly. Chano and Lichita are completely in agreement on this and start talking, neither listening to the other.

Aidé has a Coke while she and Tino continue their conversation. They cover several topics including Guzmán.

Facundo sports a white no-sleeved T-shirt. He texts Aidé and then does a Sergio Sendel phone toss. Then Facundo picks up the red mask and looks at it. I’d pay more than a penny for his thoughts.

Then Aidé brings up Fed, Tino’s novio and talks about respect. They end up arguing as their children come storming in. Aidé tells the children it won’t be easy but they will work it all out. Bertha looks like she has her doubts. Lots of talking at once as the family tries to find their way together. Tino gives a nice speech to the kids about being a family as Aidé listens smiling from ear to ear around the corner. All the kids hug Tino as they lean forward toward the table.

Chano makes a crude gesture about Rudolf and Clara Luz being together. Clara Luz quickly dispels that notion. Felipe leaves, his change of heart obvious. Rudolf chases him at the gate and tries to explain that he was a victim of Silvana. I believe he tells him he (Felipe) is the one she wants. And Pipe Felipe asks? He will have a family is Rudolf’s answer. Felipe seems unsure of all of this.

PAPAS #55 Part 2

The next morning there is a line forming at the bathroom door. Aidé asks Scarlet (the present occupant) if she is all right. Tino tries to find a solution but then the impatient knocking on the door commences again.

Clara Luz and Rudolf are still seemingly in shock over the news they’ve barely had time to digest.

We are in a small bedroom, packed with beds as Aidé tries to talk reason to her kids.

In a calmer area of the house, Brenda brings Emi and Scarlet drinks. The evil sorceress Fed is at the gate. As Aidé emerges, a huge smile plastered on her face, Fed stands scowling with her arms crossed. Guess no one shared the memo on the new house sharing arrangements with her! 😊

Lichita, Icky Igor and Guzmán talk. The subject is Tino…please fill in if it was important.

Aidé and Fed drop the pretense and get down and dirty in the street. Fed tries to warn her off saying Tino is hers. Aidé disagrees and seems to get the better of Fed in the brief arm-wrestling bout they have.

Chofis and Oliver are walking down the street. Some sort of argument ensues.

Tino arrives as Aidé and Fed argue. Fed calls him out on letting Aidé stay there. He rightfully tells Fed it is his house. Super convenient she smirks. Then he asks Aidé to let him alone with Fed. He tells her in effect it’s too bad but he has opened his home (and soon his heart viewerville bets) as she makes juvenile faces.

The next day Tino, Felipe and Aidé talk business. Felipe is encouraged and after, Aidé and Tino smile at each other. As soon as that happens, they immediately freeze and drop the happy expressions.

Fed next tries to get to Circe. Fed insultingly calls her nina and stomps off in her face.

PAPAS #55 Part 3 of 3

Dámaso calls Aidé as Tino listens, looking concerned in the background. She eventually accepts his invitation.

Bertha has made a delicious meal which Aidé comments on, thanking her. Aidé seems to think Tino has usurped her authority; she also tries to placate Lila. At the table she asks for some kind of vote (?) as everyone raises their hand (including Tino!).

Augusto shows up followed by Fed. Tino actually backs up as Aidé appears behind him. Fed wraps her tentacles around him and pulls him out. Lila arrives in tears and Aidé asks her what’s wrong.

Oliver appears at the bus stop, offering Chofis an apology. They take off.

Lila, in tears, confides in Aidé; it’s something about Paulina. She is taking the blame for something that occurred (I can’t make out what). Your father loves you Aidé asserts, wiping Lila’s tears.

Rudolf and Clara Luz are standing outside the lab. Sticky fingers Rudolf can’t open the envelope. Clara Luz grabs it as both are practically hyperventilating. They look at the result and stare at each other but do not utter a word.

Judgement day. Court convenes as the judge calls the session to order. All of a sudden, Tino rises. I believe he tells the court Paulina intentionally abandoned the children. She stands and objects. Jason accuses Tino of manipulating what happened.

Clara Luz comes home and puts her arms around Felipe. She gently puts her hands on his face and tells him she and Rudolf are Pipe’s parents. He congratulates her and tells her he is happy for her. He gently tells her they will not be together. They have tears in their eyes as he kisses her forehead. She asks Felipe to forgive her; forgive me too he says. He wishes her much happiness as tears stream down her cheeks. Adios he says as she grimaces, letting out a sigh.

Jason accuses Tino of leaving Paulina alone. Tino screams that isn’t true, it was Paulina who abandoned her children. The judge tells Tino to be quiet. In the last scene Aide strides into the courtroom; rather than try and speculate what she said, I will leave it to our patio to please fill in this crucial scene.

I'll add some to the last conversation between Felipe and Rudolph. Rudolph says he and Clara Luz will be parents, but not a couple. He lived with parents that didn't love each other and it was the worst.
 

Papas Guzman/Igor convo. Brezelian, or whatever the guys name that wants to do business with maxiclic only wants to deal with Tino or Aide, not the current hierarchy in the company. Guzman is tired of hearing Tino's name.

Oliver wants to have sex and Chofis isn't ready yet was pretty much the gyst of that argument.

Damaso has arranged rooms and spa type treatments for Aide and the kids. Looks like it is a weekend getaway.

Tino gave permission to Circe to get in touch or see Checo. Lila let the cat out of the bag. The vote I think is that both parents need to give approval on decisions regarding the kids. No playing one against the other.

Oliver wants their first time to be with each other. Chofis says you'll go with me to the planned parenthood type clinic then. He agrees. ( Not sure if we went into the misinformation Jenny was giving out to Chofis, you can't get pregnant the first time so condoms aren't needed was her words of wisdom. Fortunately Checo was a better teacher to Chofis).

Lila had told Jason and Paulina that Tino lied and claimed to be the twins father even though he wasn't their bio dad. She's afraid he may end up in jail because of her.

In court Jason brings up the twins and that Tino claimed to be the bio dad to get money from Aide. He then stole their patrimony.
The judge tells Fede that if Tino's testimony is to stand where is the proof ( I was hoping Paulina left behind a dear John letter that he would pull out). Aide walks in and says who she is and that Tino is the father of our twins. ( Of note, she does not say biological. Tino adopted them and they changed their name so technically she is telling the truth.

Kat, your sharp, observant eye captured so much this evening. Thank you for clarifying so much that occurred and doing it so extremely well.

You unearthed one (if not the) most important events of the evening, Jason accusing Tino of lying in his claim of being Uli and Circe's biological father. I hadn't understood that Lila spilled that tea to Jason and Paulina; no wonder she was so upset! I'm hoping the falsehood that Tino was just trying to extract money from Aide was something Jason just threw in.

"(I was hoping Paulina left behind a dear John letter that he would pull out)". Love it - wouldn't that have been great?

I mistakenly thought Aide had relented and given Circe permission to see Checo on a limited basis. I appreciate your explaining the vote; no wonder the kids seemed reluctant to cast their votes in favor of the two parent permission system! But it is better that Tino and Aide make mutual decisions.

"Aide walks in and says who she is and that Tino is the father of our twins. Of note, she does not say biological. Tino adopted them and they changed their name so technically she is telling the truth" explained what happened in that scene perfectly. That said, I'm unclear as to what Aide hopes to accomplish by bringing all this up. I guess we will find out tomorrow :)

I think the Damasco getaway will be fun and am looking forward to what transpires.

Enrique, if it is really him, has really good swimming form. He and Patricio are racing in the lap pool and Enrique beats him. Ines and Luci talk about Pato and his novia. Ines just can't understand her son's sexual orientation. Luci tells her, just love him.

Karina is the one to find the Victoria necklace. She thinks they have a thing going on. Gaby has been expelled from school for fighting. One of the classmates is teasing her about her parents getting divorced. Karina tells Roberto that their are plans afoot to discredit him and she is concerned. He says, too late. I've been fired, they are doing an internal investigation on me. Do you realize what that does to my type of career. She seems concerned for him.

Adrien shows up at Alex house, but she has company. Dani and Clara are there doing a joint school project. He yells at her about him. Dad overhears and chastises Adrien for talking to his daughter that way.

Bertha sees Joaquin secretively talking to a reporter. He tells the reporter about gay Pato who doesn't live at home as a juicy tip.

Fabiola disappeared on the way to campus. She entered a tunnel that had no cameras, but never exited. ( If cameras see the entrance and exit I would think one of the sides would have seen something). Victoria and Joaquin discover this. Victoria later calls Roberto about it.

Memo's dad finds a button with cloth in the grill. Mariana claims it's one of hers. She brings it to the kitchen and burns it some more then call Ines about it. Husband is suspicious and has followed her and hears her side.

Gaby wants to live with Dad. Luci has come over to help her deal with her feelings. Gaby says Mom is a liar. She has a novios. He was at our house last night and called her mi amor. It was too dark to see who it was though. She wants to live with Dad who will never get a girlfriend. Guess Luci and Roberto will have a long wait to win her over.

Ines and Mariana talk on the phone
Ines is discussing the wild savage sex she and Enrique shared. Karina listens from a doorway.

Dani tells Alex that his mother is doing better since she discovered she is going to be a grandma. Alex states in shock, no not me, Toby. Np idea who the mother is yet but we'll find her.

Bertha gets in a chauffeur driven car. Roberto has just left the precinct for some reason. He follows her. Joaquin also notices, but he is waiting for Lucy to show up. He has some papers for her regarding her father's case. He gives her a folder of half burned letters from his trunk.

Francisco is the guy with Bertha. He calls Jimenez (Victoria) to check into something regarding the location they are meeting I think.

Elena has Toby's last cell phone bill. She calls the last number he called thinking it's his girlfriend and leaves a message.

Wow, Francisco is a monster. Looks like he has had Fabiola committed. The Dr is doing some electromagnetic head scans that will erase her memory. If it is Fabiola, that is. Well at least she may be alive.

Enrique wants Lucy to quit working for Roberto, caring for Gaby.

Thank you again for this, Kat. You cleared up some of my confusion. I still get confused with Alex and the other young people. How awful if Fabiola is in a manicomio. I hope they can rescue her.

Do we know the pregnant mother? I wonder who Tobi made his last call to.

Gaby is going to be a problem for both parents. She likes Luci, but it may seem like a betrayal for Gaby.

What is Furia going to do for a career? Is top cop a good guy? What will happen to the Karina-Enrique relationship, especially as Gaby is upset?

Lots to ponder as we wait patiently (not!) for the next installment!

Kat, thank you for the last two recaps, great job! I'm sorry I wasn't around, fwith Easter approaching and some of my family coming for a visit in a few days, all I've been doing recently is scrub my house and go to work. I tell you, my daughters can be such angels sometimes, but, OMG, are they messy!

Just a quick observation before I get to last night's episode. Val confided in Nick about what she'd just found out about Ofelia, but she stayed very vague with Arturo. Nick is her go to guy when she needs comfort, so I guess Art is just for the fun times? And she almost manages to have her cake and eat it, too, Art for the kisses and Nick for the hugs, but then Nick remembers he has to be nasty to her because that's the way to go if he wants to fall out of love?

Anyway... back later with my recap!
 

Las hijas, Capitulo 59
Part 1/3

Paula’s guy at the gallery insists that Ofelia bought the painting herself. She is shocked, accuses him of covering for Paula. She is dragged out by security.

The verbal duel between Luis and Juan continues. Juan offends Mar and Luis by association, Luis kind of threatens him. They go back and forth about Mar’s character (Juan thinks she’s the worst), Luis warns Juan not to play with Camila, does he even love her? Juan can’t admit that much, what they have is stronger! Oh yeah, you could have fooled me.

Paula once again puts ideas into Mar’s gullible head about Luis, who is feeling badly. Mar thinks it’s her fault, because she told him about meeting Juan. What can she do to help, could those drops that Paula uses help him? Suuure, and Paula is more than happy to share.
As they leave the house Paula explains to Mar the effects of the drops, they make her “happy” (her words, not mine).
Ofelia appears out of the nowhere, grabs Paula and pushes her around for a bit. Then she warns Mar that this woman is to be feared. But Mar won’t listen, she is no longer her mother’s puppet, she thinks she can trust her friend Paula fully. Oh, boy!
Mar and Paula leave together, Ofelia is surprised her daughter can be so trusting.
Maybe if she had spent less time calling her beautiful and more teaching her about the nastiness of the world, Mar wouldn’t be such an innocent idiot.

Paula takes Mar to a sort of pharmacy (they are called parapharmacie in France, a place where you can buy herbal products and whatnot, stuff that don’t require a prescription). They ask the vendor for some drops to help with stress. Mar wants to make sure they won’t harm Luis.

Juan is back home and Susana wants to know what he’s been up to. He evades the interrogatory but then Camila arrives, and Juan wants to chat. He tells her Luis came to search for him because he’s seen Mar. She sent him a message and he went to talk to her, he thought that maybe she needed help. Camila gets upset that he’s so available for Mar, Juan explains that he feels bad for going. It was a trap, it only caused him pain, he’ll never do it again. Camila settles down, asks Juan not to fall for this again, that woman is manipulating him. Juan is impressed to see her so calm all of a sudden (so am I, this is not the CrazyCam I know).
Susana is listening to the whole exchange from upstairs.

Ofelia is still rattled after her confrontation with Paula. She says she needs a miracle! She receives a bag of groceries bought by Valeria for her. Could her older daughter be her miracle, she wonders.
Back at the mansion Paula does exactly what I thought she would. She throws away the drops Mar bought and refills the bottle with some stuff from her purse. Mar arrives to ask for the drops, Paula assures her that Luis will get better soon. Oh, Mar, you’re so innocent, Paula can’t help but be amazed by such credulousness. You and me both, sister!


 

Las hijas, Capitulo 59
Part 2/3

Rocio comes to see Luis at the company. The receptionist tries to say that he’s not available, but Rocio insists. Luis is not in his office, but he gets a call from his secretary, he says he won’t meet with Rocio, asks security to deal with her if needed.
The receptionist tells Rocio she can’t go inside, Rocio starts to scream and calls Luis an assassin. Everyone who follows his orders will pay!

Mar is taking care of Luis’ meal. He’s a bit rattled after the Rocio episode and Mar notices. When he leaves to wash his hands, she puts some of the drops in his meal, she’s sure they will help him.
Luis comes back at the table. Paula joins them. Mar tells Luis she is going to visit Val. He doesn’t actually eat, he says he’s busy with work, he’ll grab something to eat later.
He leaves in a hurry, Mar is worried because he hasn’t eaten, how can she help him relax? Maybe she should just tell him about the drops? Paula says that’s not a good idea, believe her, she’s known Luis for a long time. Just give it time, she will help him.

Juan comes to see Ofelia. He mocks her because she’s back in the vecindad. He killed his and Mar’s love, she turned her into a cold woman. She’d better keep away from her baby, not ruin him, too. Ofelia is offended, she’s more than happy to see Mar far away from this dreadful place! Juan says he would have given everything for Mar, but Ofelia laughs him off – he was never good enough for Mar. Even if she never sees her daughter again, at least she no longer lives in misery.

Susana has prepared a soup, she asks Camila to set the table, but Camila is taking a nap on the couch. Juan comes back and asks why she is sleeping. Susana says she’s been doing a lot of this lately, could she be depressed?
Juan wakes Camila up gently, she says she’s been a little tired.

The brothers talk about Paula helping with the launch, Leo assures Art and Nick that Paula is more than capable of doing the work.
Luis comes in a hurry, he is rattled because of Rocio and afraid she might have talked to one of his sons. He hasn’t eaten yet, how about if they all have lunch together? The brothers realize he’s not being himself, what’s wrong with dad?

Amparo is visiting Ofelia, she tries to make her eat, but Ofelia is not hungry, she’s angry. She couldn’t prove she’s not behind the painting, Paula must have bought off the gallery people. And Mar believes everything she says. But she won’t give up, she cannot lose her daughter.

Luis once again asks the receptionist and his secretary not to allow Rocio inside the company or near his kids.

Mar and Val talk about their mother. Val has been helping her with the bills and she will continue to support her. She is their mother! But Mar no longer wants to help, she’s tired of her meddling. Val insists she needs to get over it and be there for Ofelia. Mar is surprised Val would take their mother’s side.
They talk about the baby, Mar doesn’t know the sex yet. Then she mentions meeting Juan, if he ever comes close to her again how will she react? She hasn’t forgotten about him.
Arriving at Val’s place, Val is kind of looking around and then explains to Mar that Nick lives in the same building. Yes, that should be great, but he’s very odd. Whenever she needs something, he’s always available and is very nice and comforting to her. But then he changes all of a sudden, he becomes cold and distant. He never used to be like this before. Mar thinks it might have something to do with her marriage to Luis, but Val thinks it's deeper than that (yeah, you can say that again!).

Part 3/3

Juan and Jacinto talk about Juan’s meeting with Luis. Jacinto says he needs to stay away from Mar, Juan promises he will. And Luis warned him not to hurt Camila, he actually scared Juan for a bit. Jacinto understands that Luis is protecting his wife and his daughter.

Leo has good news for Paula. She will be the presenter at the launch event. And she will shine brighter than Val, she will be the real star of the event.

Later Paula meets with the reporter and hands him some money (I think?). He wants information, Paula asks if he’s interested to know that Luis Portilla’s suegra lives in misery.

Val is home when she receives a visit from Arturo. He brings her some roses in a box, they kiss and go to the office together.

Mar comes to see her mother, but she can’t get in. She knocks several times, gets restless; Juan drops by and demands that she stop searching for him. They start fighting about who betrayed whom, she says he used to date Camila for longer than he says he did and that’s why she helped him get out of jail. She even saw her kiss him in the hospital. Juan is shocked, says that’s not true. Mar was the one who abandoned him in jail. Mar reminds him he pushed her away, Juan says he only wanted to protect her but then he found out she was with that guy. He never stopped thinking about her, but she abandoned him for the money. She calls him a lair, he suggests they go talk to Camila, she will confirm what he’s saying.
Camila is walking around the house, she doesn’t feel too great. Susana offers to give her some food, but Camila doesn’t have an appetite. Besides, she feels dizzy and nauseated. Oh, I bet I can guess what she has.
Juan and Mar arrive and Juan asks Camila to confirm that nothing was going on between them while he was in the hospital. Mar once again says she saw them kissing, Camila gets a bit restless. What to do, what to say?

Ofelia comes to see Rocio, who tells her how she was dragged out of the Portilla company. Rocio now wants Ofelia’s help, so Ofelia asks for the truth, how did she lose her child? Rocio is not sure if she can trust her, why did she lie about her identity?
Ofelia explains that she didn’t know Rocio before, but she wants to help because she is losing her daughter to the Portillas also, just like Rocio lost her son.
Rocio finally starts her story. Her husband died just as she was about to give birth. She had a very difficult childbirth, then her son was born but she didn’t feel any better, she lost consciousness for several days, the doctors didn’t know if she was going to make it or not. When she finally got better she was told her son had died. And for many years she thought that was the truth. But one day a nurse from the hospital came to see her and said that her son hadn’t died at birth, the Portillas had taken him. Ofelia is impactada.
Rocio continues by saying she then went to talk to the Portillas, but they never gave her back her son. They kept threatening her, but she never gave up.
Flashback of Rocio coming towards the Portilla mansion and meeting with Cecilia (wearing an awful wig). Rocio wants to see her son, they can’t keep him away from her any longer. Cecilia says she has no rights, Rocio insists he’s an adult now (more than 18 years old), he deserves to know the truth. Cecilia says she can’t allow her to get close to HER son after all these years. Because he is HER son! Rocio swears never to give up, Cecilia says over her dead body. Auch!

Looks like Paula wants to kill two birds with one stone or a few drops of the mystery “herbal” relaxant. Luis would be dead and Mar in jail for murder.

Okay, so the Portillas purchased Rocío’s son. Glad we got that story straight finally.

Actually it sounds more like they truly stole Rocio's son, if her story is true. It certainly makes you feel for her. Her husband died, she nearly died in childbirth, is told her son died at birth. That would be enough to drive someone insane for a while.

Mar is too gullible for words. And Cami of course also or pregnant right away. I actually think if Mar were not around she and Juan could make a go of it, as long as they get their own place. He is quite caring.

Adriana, I remember those mad cleaning sprees in anticipation of company. I need more people dropping in so I'm motivated to clean. My 2 golden retrievers shed so much the hair and dust is a never ending battle

I am not entirely sure Rocio is telling the truth. Luis seems like a very decent man and Cécilia was the same, why would they just take away her child?
Rocio, on the other hand, has proven to be unhinged more than once and she was the one who caused Graciela's death...
They already had at least a kid of their own, Leo (and even Nick if Art is the lost child), so they had no fertility problems.

Kat, every now and again I get into the cleaning frenzy but I mostly just try to keep things more or less organized. My younger daughter is quite a handful, whatever she touches she turns into a dirty mess, so I try not to stress to much about it. The house is always a bit messy, but it's a home where children live, so all is good

Ofelia is right in that Paula is manipulating Mar but it's no different what Ofelia has done to her daughter for years. If only Mar would wake up.

Is Rocio being told her son died in childbirth the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth? Doubtful. I do wonder how her child ended up with Luis and Cecilia; was it all honest and above board? Is Rocio being kept from him now due to the fact she is mentally ill or to hide something or a mixture of both?

Camila "...feels dizzy and nauseated. Oh, I bet I can guess what she has". Please no. I...just...can't. How convoluted can things get??

Cher Adriana, Merci for another excellent recap.

The wardrobe department is having fun . Paula and Mar were in almost identical dresses,..tight, mid calf length, with high neck lines . Paula was in green, and Mar was in Red..Merry Christmas. I suppose this was to show a Paula's increasing influence on malleable Mar.

I agree that Rocio might not being telling the truth.

Maybe Camp's symptoms are a red herring from these tricky writers. Susan

Thank you, Adriana (and Kat yesterday) for the fantastic recaps! It's been a hectic week, and I haven't watched yet. But I agree, not sure I bought the stolen baby story... if it's true Mar and her baby might be really in danger!

Cami preggers too! What a shock! Not!

And Paula is still getting free reign, Mar none the wiser and if she does Luis in it's ,way more than a twofer, because she's hurting everyone with Luis's death AND getting Mar blamed. Someone better stop her!

Papas # 56 part 1
Aide testifies to the judge that Tino may not be the biological father, but he is loved and has acted as a father to her twins and all the children. They live together with him the paternal figure and her the maternal.
Rudolph asks Clara Luz how did her talk with Felipe go. She tells him he has decided to return to his ocean home alone. Rudolph acknowledges he may not have been his favorite person, but he is a good man. Clara Luz makes it clear that Rudolph and she will not be resuming their relationship, only concentrate on regaining their son.
Lila talks with 2 of her classmates about moving to the US with her mom. They say your dad will be so sad.
Jason tells the judge there is no limit to the tricks Tino will use. He must have forced her in some way to testify in his favor. He has been accused of fraud and theft, etc. the judge asks Aide if she was pressured in any way. No of course not. The judge rebukes Jason for trying to tell her what to do. This is a family court and what he does in business as no meaning in this case.
Circe's 2 friends are talking to her . Circe won't buy anything to drink. They mention the house being up for sale. She admits her mother has economic problems currently but of course the annual ski trip to Aspen will still be on.
Rudolph and Clara Luz force their way into Guzman's office. The bodyguards get chewed out for their incompetence. They show him the proof of Pipe's parentage. He can't believe it He insults them as a pair of idiots. ( I'm thinking the same. Clara luz should have begged Felipe to help them get the best lawyer and go about it through the courts).
And speaking of courts, the judge asks Paulina to explain why she never tried to. Find her children. She lies about being afraid of what Tino would do. Tino blows up saying you left us because you couldn't stand the thought of raising a handicapped child. The judge now threatens Tino with expulsion from the court room as this is the second time he has spoken out of turn. The next time you're out of here. He apologizes, as aide calms him down.
Clara realizes Pura told Guzman the truth about Pipe. He taunts, yup. She was the legal mother and she made me his guardian. Clara luz and Rudolph says they will fight for him

Fede finally earns some points as a lawyer. She tells the judge her client never profited from hiding the children from their mother. His only wrong was lying to them about her supposed death in order to protect them from the pain of abandonment by their mother. The judge says this is a difficult case. I'll have to take more time to decide. She is currently leaning in favor of Tino, but needs another week to make up her mind. The judge leaves. Tino thanks aide for her help. Fede is pissed. No thanks to me? Aide rolls her eyes and leaves.
Maldita Marrana parada ( I have asked 2 native speaking Spanish people if this means anything to them and they have never heard this saying before. The best we have come up with is a rude poorly educated person with no manners) Clara muters to Rudolph as they leave. They realize they need a lawyer but where will they find one? We need help from our friends. Speak if the devil, she gets a text from Tino. He wants them on his team at the new business.
Igor is chatting up Luchita. He wants to know what is the word on the street about why they are losing clients. Luchita tells him rumor has it that Brizuela is going with the competition. Chano joins them, Igor leaves them alone. I swear ever sentence the two speak incorporates some sort of 'ch' word. I should buy a Spanish dictionary and learn them all. At any rate, I don't know them and I'm pretty sure they are slang so I don't care to learn them. They almost flirt and they don't fight so some progress in their relationship.
Aide and Tino are brainstorming about the new platform. Something is mentioned about weekend plans. She says she already has something going with the kids and Damaso for the weekend. Rudolph and Clara Luz arrive. The guys leave the room .


 

Papas #56 part 2

Aide calls Circe who just returned to Tino's place. She reminds her about the weekend plans. Circe doesn't want to go and complains. Aide insists, he is a good friend and we are going. They hang up. Uli complains about having to attend this mystic yoga experience. Circe says we may have to go but we can just make sure it is a disaster ( go twins,).

The guys and girls are talking about parenthood. Clara and Rudolph realize they need a good lawyer. Tino says not Fede, she is too close to Guzman. They also need money for a lawyer. Unfortunately Aide can't help them in that way, but in any other way she can be there for them.

Family meal at Tino's with the kids, but no Tino or Aide. So I guess part of the disaster is inviting Lila and Emi to their weekend getaway. They win Lila over on the skin care treatment.. They tease Bertha that she and Augusto can have a quiet weekend alone, whoo hoo.

Rudolph gets hired back onto Tino's team. He asks are you and aide back together. He says for convenience yes. Fede is mentioned. Tino says it's just been a short relationship so far, nothing serious.

The twins tell the parents their great ideas of Lila and Emi going to. After lots of back and forth of who will stay and who will go, it's decided Tino is going also.

Chano seems to have won some sort of weekend getaway. The kids encourage mom to go with him. Is it to the spa also?

Aide calls Damaso about the extra guests. He's go with the flow happy about it. Aide pours on the compliments as she admires his attitude. She tells him she finds his attributes quite attractive. After they hang up Damaso says hopefully you will get your karma Tino malvibroso. I couldn't find any definition for that word but we know it is bad since it starts with mal, right. He looks up maxiclik online, calls and asks for Fede. ( Another invite to the doomed weekend perhaps).

Next scene, yup Fede is at the retreat. Tino is not happy.

Rudolph and Clara Luz are back at Pipe's school. One of the brothers agrees to listen to their story. We are Pipe's biological parents.

Guzman is back to tutoring Chofis, wearing a short skirt, silly girl. He asks her inappropriate questions about her boyfriend. She is rescued by Luchita, as Guzman gives Chofis a broad wink as they leave

Back at the retreat things aren't going great. Tino is there to take care of Emi but it sounds like Damaso has other plans for the adults. The kids say they will keep an eye on Emi.

The Brother isn't receptive to Rudolph and Clara Luz. You can't see Pipe and don't return. Clara grabs the gate as he walks away, please tell him we love him....the brother looks troubled as he reads the DNA report and pulls out his phone.


 

Papas #56 part 3

Damaso is performing his witchcraft with herbs. Tino is dated to inhale them by Damaso saying he must be scared.

Luchita and Chano arrives to claim there free room. Some confusion as the receptionist days ah right, you won the radio contest, but Luchita thought he won a raffle. Somehow that gets smoothed over. Chano has obviously set this getaway up and Luchita is dumb enough to fall for it. Of course brains don't seem to be abundant in this family. Checo seems to be the smart of the bunch after a stint in jail

Hermano Cervantes ( he has a name) finds Pipe in the chapel praying. He asks him about Clara Luz and Rudolph, they seem to care about you. Pipe says it's because of them he was sent there. Brother C says why do you say that. Tip Guzman. Told me. Do you like tip. No, I hardly know him and he always calls me by the wrong name. Brother C asks if he needs a hug. Yes please....

Tino drinks the herbal concoction and starts writhing in agony. Aide and Fede are concerned but Damaso keeps repeating this is part of the process. Tino is on a stretcher. Time for him to be sent to his room with Fede, his girlfriend. Aide wants him to go to a hospital. Fede overrides her.

Brother c calls Clara Luz. She puts him on speaker phone. He wants to talk to them face to face about Pipe. They are still in town, no problem.

Damaso pours a glass of wine for Aide. He wants to toast. She's not in the mood, nor ready for advancing their relationship. He says it's because you love Tino and are jealous of your cousin. He gets a message from Fede, your plan is going perfectly. Let the games begin.

Damaso says Tino is fine, that was Fede. Aide still isn't falling into his arms. She still needs to discover who her twins father is.

Tino is looking pretty grim. Fede is sprawled on the bed in a sexy black, of course, neglige beckoning him to her. He is drugged with something that makes her look like Aide. He strips off his shirt and starts kissing her ravenously.


 

Juegos #17
Luci isn't quitting her job she tells Enrique, especially not now. She found out her mother has a lover and she needs me. Enrique asks who is it, she is my employee and I need to be concerned about who is in our inner circle. Gaby didn't see as it was too dark. Enrique just wants her away from the fiscal as he is dangerous to the family. Luci looks at him suspiciously ( I hope).

Well the rest of the show I'm going to just do highlights in no particular order.

Luci meets with her thesis advisor and coincidentally as she leaves the clinic she sees Fabiola who is knocking on a window trying to get help. She lets Roberto know, he gets a judge's order to search the place but by the time they get there she has disappeared.

We have a few candidates as to who tipped them off.

Joaquin is now in bed with Bertha. She saw him talking to the reporter so she is blackmailing him. When Roberto tells Jimenez and Joaquin about the location of Fabiola he swore them to secrecy. (BTW, he took his job back early on in the episode). Joaquin texted someone then. Enrique is also a suspect as Luci told him about seeing Fabiola when she met with her advisor.

Joaquin gave Luci some files from the archives regarding her father's case. Bertha saw him do it so I think she has that on him also. It wasn't much as there conveniently was a fire somewhere along the line which burned most of the paperwork.

Elena wants to find the girlfriend and give her a place to live with her. She just prays she hasn't decided to terminate the pregnancy.

Suzy seems to have some sort of contraband business going on in Omar's store. It was a quick scene so I'm not sure what it is. Drugs perhaps.

Back at the crooked clinic Roberto has confiscated some evidence from the garbage. Also it appears they are perhaps using illegal drugs there so I imagine an investigation into the clinic will ensue, unless Bertha makes it go away.

Mariana takes a photo of Enrique and Bertha up close and personal at a bar and sends it to Ines. Ines tells her who it is, she is saving our sons butts. Stop stirring up trouble.

I wrongly thought Damaso would provide a bit of suave finesse, not bad voodoo. Initially, I thought he might prove to be a worthy opponent for Aide's love but that dissipated quickly. Drugging Tino, enlisting Fed to perform her pathetic seduction attempt and preying on Aide's affections for Tino showed he is a pathetic fraud. I'm feverishly hoping this isn't Uli and Circe's father. Still, look at how sweet Scarlet is despite who fathered her...

Kat, I found tonight very difficult to follow. I was so grateful that this fell to you to sort this all out in your always expert fashion. Thank you.

Las hijas, Capitulo 60
Part 1/3

Juan asks Camila to confirm his story, that nothing was going on between them at the time he was in the hospital. Camila is reluctant to answer (of course she is), and then she suddenly feels bad, and then she faints. I’d say it’s a little bit too convenient, but I’m afraid she’s not pretending.

Rocio continues her sob story to Ofelia. She could never get close to her child, she doesn’t even know which of the boys is her son . But she can’t give up.
And we’re back to the flashback with Cecilia asking Rocio to go away. What will the boy feel if he finds out? He is part of their family, he’d be destroyed if he knew the truth. Rocio says that’s not fair; they threatened her with kidnapping charges and kept her away from her son. Cecilia insists SHE is the boy’s mother, she was the one to love and nurture him all these years. Rocio says he needs to know the truth, but once again Cecilia demands that she leave! Or else!!
Back to the present Ofelia is very impressed with what she’s hearing. Rocio adds that she was afraid to get close to him after Cecilia’s threats, but once she died, she thought things would be different. But Luis is the same as Cecilia. Regardless, her son needs to know the truth.
Ofelia is shocked to find out that Cecilia was so cruel. To take away her child? What right did they have? Then she starts thinking, she believes she knows who her son is. One of the boys is different, he’s always fighting with Luis. Rocio’s son has to be Arturo. It has to be him, because Nick is Luis’ favorite. Rocio is happy, oh, her son!
Ofelia offers to help her get close to Arturo, because he is Valeria’s novio. Even if Val is so stubborn. She also thinks the only way to go is for her to go back at the mansion. Rocio promises to help.

At the hospital the doctor tells Juan that Camila is anemic, but they need to perform more studies to be sure. For reasons that will become obvious in a moment, Mar has come with him. She tells Juan that things would have been so different if she hadn’t seen them together that day at the hospital. Juan doesn’t understand, Mar adds that she wanted to tell him something. She is interrupted by the doctor coming back to tell Juan that Camila is anemic because she lacks vitamins. She needs to improve her diet because … she is pregnant. Juan is surprised, but Mar is floored. The patio says: “grab the popcorn!”
When the doctor leaves, Mar is crying, but manages to say “ congratulations”. Juan tries to say he never forgot her, but Mar no longer wants to talk, he’s going to be a father and that should be his priority now.
As she leaves, Camila arrives and hugs Juan “We are going to have a baby!”
Alone, Mar is crying but tells herself to stop, she made her choice and she has to live with it.

Holding a magazine clipping of Arturo, Rocio promises to love her son and make up for all the lost time.

Val and Pedro are checking the photos, they are amazing. Mar comes to see Val, she is feeling badly. She tells Val about the pregnancy. She must forget about Juan forever. Val is very sorry to hear this, maybe now it will be easier to get over him.
Mar notices that her son will be Camila’s brother and Camilla’s baby’s brother also… Or something… Who’s keeping track?


 

Las hijas, Capitulo 60
Part 2/3

At some sort of coffee place, Juan buys a very expensive drink for Camila, that green stuff she loves so much. She asks if they should grab some food, sushi or something else (geez, Cami, raw fish is not good for the baby). But Juan says he has no cash left after buying her juice. She’s surprised, could he at least buy her another drink? Juan says they need to be careful with their spending now that they have a baby on the way. Clueless Princess Camilla says the baby won’t come for a long time, they need to be happy and enjoy the moment. And she gets an idea.

Ofelia is home and taking out the trash while a paparazzi is taking her pictures.

At the Mar tells Luis she had a complicated day. Camila and Juan arrive with some great news. “Papa, you’re going to be a grandfather!”
Luis explodes! Her daughter can’t have a baby with that man! He’s only using her. He threatens Juan, he’ll pay for this! Camila says they will be united for life. Luis almost has a heart attack, and when Juan opens his mouth to say they don’t need anything from him, Luis gets worse. Art arrives and Camila says she is having a baby, but this is obviously not good news for the family.

At the company, Nick is searching for Art, but Val says he’s gone home, his sister called him. Nick is upset, Camila called him, too, but he was in a meeting. He’s worried, does Val know anything about what is going on? Val does, but since they’re at work, can they talk about private matters? She’s giving him the cold shoulder just like he’s been doing lately, and Nick understands. He wants to leave, but Val points out he is the one who wants to keep this distance between them. But why, just be honest and tell her. Nick just leaves.

Susana tells Jacinto she’s worried because Juan and Camila have been gone for a long time. When they do get home Juan gives them the good news. Susana is very happy, Jacinto first looks shocked, but says he’s happy, too. Camila is impressed with their acceptance; they’re such great people. Her family took the news badly, her father is very upset. Jacinto is surprised, a grandchild is a blessing, nobody will reject this baby. Susana also promises they will give the baby all the love he needs.

In his study with his sons, Luis is furious with Juan because he thinks he’ll hurt his daughter. Now Camila will be tied to him for life. She married him on a whim, and now her life has forever changed. Why did you get her out of the house when I wasn’t here? Leo points out Camila first left when he married Mar.

The next day Luis shows Mar a front-page photo of Ofelia living in misery. He thinks she set it all up and is furious. When he leaves, Paula asks if Mar is giving Luis the drops, he looks very bad. Mar wonders how did the press find out? Paula suggests that maybe Ofelia sold the news to the press herself, she does like money. Mar is shocked her mother would go this far.

Nick and Arturo see the newspaper, too, and they’re upset. They both miss their mother so much, she’d make Luis accept Juan. Nick asks if he spoke to Val about it, but Art says they avoid talking family stuff because they always end up fighting. Great couple, huh?
Nick thinks they should communicate better.

Susana wants to spoil Camila now that she’s pregnant. She prepared a lot of food for her, but Camila doesn’t have a lot of appetite. Susana used to be hungry all the time when she was pregnant, but Camila starts to throw up when she sees the food. They all think it’s because of her pregnancy, but poor people’s food always made Cami throw up, if you ask me.


 

Las hijas, Capitulo 60
Part 3/3

Ofelia is boiling some milk on the gas stove when Mar arrives. Ofelia is happy to see her, but Mar is very serious. How much did the newspaper pay her for the pictures? She shows Ofelia what she’s talking about, Ofelia says it wasn’t her, but Mar accuses her of always bothering them. Ofelia says it was surely Paula, but Mar won’t hear of it. How much money does she want to leave them alone? She takes out her wallet.
Ofelia insists it wasn’t her, Mar says she always manipulated her but it’s over! She doesn’t want to see her again, stay away from her, her baby and her husband.
Mar leaves and Ofelia feels very bad, she starts crying and drops to the floor. She can’t lose her Mar. Her daughters are everything for her, how can she keep living without them?
In the meantime, the milk is overflowing on the stove.

Jacinto comes to see Luis at the company. He doesn’t have a meeting, he cuts in line at reception, he says he’s family and insists Luis will see him.
Luis does agree to see him, and they talk in his office. Jacinto says that he realizes they are very different people, but his grandson is innocent in all of this. Lusi agrees, but he doesn’t approve of Juan. First, he played with Mar, now he’s doing it with Camila. Jacinto says that Juan and Mar loved one another for real. Then why marry Camila, Luis asks. Jacinto doesn’t get it, either, he feels that his son still loves Mar. Luis concludes that Juan truly is playing with Camila, but Jacinto disagrees. Juan might have lacked material things growing up, but he has values. He’s a good guy! Luis is still not happy, he married Camila in hush hush.
Jacinto says they accepted Camila as part of their family and he has to protect her; Luis is only causing her heart ache, and he won’t allow it. Luis better stay away from her and from his grandson.
Luis reminds Jacinto the baby is his grandson also. But he disapproves of Juan. Camila can come back home but alone. Jacinto insists he will defend his son and daughter in law, even against him. Luis says accepting everything that their kids do is not good parenting. He made this mistake and now he’s paying the price.
Then Luis tells Jacinto to leave, he has a lot of work to do.
Leo comes by just after and asks what is going on. Luis is certain this family is taking care of Camila, but he can’t help but feel pain, this is not the life he wanted for his daughter. What, no studies and no career, married on a whim and pregnant within 3 months with a guy who already has a bay on the way? What is there not to love?

Nick comes to see Camila. Susana congratulates him for being an uncle. She hugs him and Nick congratulates her for becoming a grandmother, also.
Camila arrives and she is cold, thinks Nick will argue with her, also. But he has come to offer his support. Camila is thankful, she misses him so much. Nick says this baby won’t be alone, they are his family. He invites Camila to live with him for a while, but Camila doesn’t want to go, Juan won’t agree to live somewhere else.
Nick didn’t know she loved him so much… Camila says she doesn’t know, sometimes she thinks she does, others not so much. Regardless, Nick promises to always be there for her.

Art and Val talk about the situation, why would anyone write such an article? Art says someone must have tipped them off to earn money, how else would they know? He thinks it was Ofelia. Val doubts it, Art would rather they stop talking on the subject; Val agrees, but at one point they do have to address this.

Amparo comes to see Ofelia, knocks a few times and leaves. Ofelia is passed out on the floor; the gas is now leaking. First the fire, now an explosion? Oh boy!

Ofelia just “knows” some how that Arturo is Rocío’s son. Does she have a crystal ball?

Ofelia needs to get a grip already. Her continual hysterical state could kill her.

Just think, if Ofelia didn’t have Juan arrested based on that kidnapping lie, everyone would be living a happier life. I don’t blame Mar for wanting to write her off even if she wasn’t responsible for the photos. I just wonder what took her so long.

Adriana I haven't watched the episode yet, but I'm thinking practically here. O keeps candles lit to the Virgincita which hopefully will burn off the gas and stave off an explosion.

Holding the popcorn, lol. I knew she was pregnant as it was part of one of the ads for the show. I'll catch this at Naptime.

OT, prepping for Easter. Is it celebrated April 20th in your country or do you follow the Greek Orthodox calendar? ( If I have that correct.). It's late this year for us.

Adriana Noel, the episode was excellent, on the edge of your seat exciting but your recap was even better!

I loved the Gatica/Cantu conversation. Two amazing actors. Jacinto telling Luis Mar and Juan loved each other was a bit of a surprise. But he is unfailingly honest and loyal. He will support Cam and Juan. I was also surprised Cam admitted to Nick sometimes she thinks she loves Juan, others, not so much. Hmm... "What, no studies and no career, married on a whim and pregnant within 3 months with a guy who already has a bay on the way? What is there not to love?" was a pearl of wisdom. "Clueless Princess Camilla" indeed.

Jarifa, I'm betting now that Ofelia has foolishly ("crystal ball" was so right) named Arturo as Rocio's son, it's sure to be Nick! :)

I was also wondering if the house is going to blow up. That dilapidated structure seems indestructible, even a raging fire couldn't destroy it! I'm certain invincible Ofelia will survive and am hoping she and Mar will reconcile among the angst and anguish of the aftermath.

I've never used a gas stove , so at first, I couldn't figure out the significance of O putting the pot of milk on the stove . There is no way that O will exit stage left this way. I still don't Think that Rocio's story about her son is true. Hey, maybe none of these guys is her son . Maybe Rocio just thinks that. Perhaps her son actually did die at birth , and she has convinced herself that one of the Portilla boys who was born around the same time is her son. Just a crockpot theory. ( Does anyone remember those popping up on the patio in the past?)

Mar clomping around pregnant in those skin tight , short dresses ,and tacones (?) Makes me nervous . I always chose comfy clothes and staying close to the ground. Susan

Well I watched it and noticed Ofelia did not have her candles lit, so no saving by the lady of Guadalupe. Amparo walked away after knocking. Will it be Val or Arturo to the rescue. Is Nick still in the neighborhood after talking to Cami. When will somebody clean those sooty windows? They irk me to no end. Obviously the original fire really wasn't that destructive as they are intact, the tattered curtains are still hung in the windows. Most of the damage was smoke and water from the firemen it seems.

I keep wondering if there is some will left by Graciela. She had a nice apartment, Cami would fit in nicely there, with or without Juan. Since she has iffy feelings for him they won't be HEA. A nice nest egg from Graciela as the favorite niece would come in handy.

So Mar said my baby will be both uncle and brother to Cami's baby. Reminds me of the song, I'm my own Grandpa. Technically not really uncle, but whose trying to make this logical.

Luis will have another coronary without Paula's drops at this rate.

I'm still mad no one is grabbing a fistful of Arturo's lovely locks to disprove he is Rocio's child. They don't even need anything from Luis, Rocio will be the litmus test.

Susan, Tino has been ruled out as the father by a DNA test Guzman somehow performed. I still think it is Damaso.

Yeah, Tino was definitely having a weird drug reaction. If I were Aïde I wouldn't drink anything from Damaso's poisoned cups. Tino was totally foolish agreeing to drink anything he offered unless Damaso also partook.

Yes, Luis doesn't look good as the stress mounts . I wonder how much of Paula's potion he has actually ingested. Paula is an unfeeling monster. I cant wait to see the anvil that the writers are forging for her.

I keep thinking of how calm and happy Luis was on that brief vacation to the seaside. Then, he comes back from the dead. It's been a lot. Susan

I hadn't realized Uli was Gabe Soto's son! BTW, his ex-wife Geraldine Bazan plays Paula on Las Hijas. They also share a daughter who is an actress who has been in at least one thing with him (can't remember which TN it was).

We do celebrate Easter on the 20th this year. We are Orthodox, but the Russian type who dress however we want, not the type who have the long strands of hair and wear à lot of black... Sorry, I forgot their name.

While I don't buy all of Rocio's story, I do think one of the boy's is her son. Having finally seen the episode Cecila's reaction made it clear that there was a 'truth' for the son to know, but I doubt that truth is what Rocio claims.

It occurred to me that Ofelia bought it no questions asked, maybe Mar is as different from Mom as she seems? Mar buys all Paula's BS. Ofelia buys Rocio's.

Good point about Graciela having a will, Kat!!! I wonder....
