PAPAS #63 Part 1

Previously, Fed’s abuse of Emi was revealed. An emotionally devastated Tino banished her from their lives (wishful thinking I add ruefully as she shows no sign of vamoosing). He plans to sue her as we wonder if her retaliation will be far behind…

Unfortunately, as of now, there does not seem to have been any follow-up as to whether Emi’s seizure and subsequent coma might have been induced by a nefarious hand.

Uli’s reaction upon seeing the mask at Facundo’s appears to be the primary reason he is accusing him. Tino and Aidé are proceeding cautiously (especially as Facundo is Scarlet’s father); Tino presses Uli to see if he noticed anything in the eyes or the persona of whomever wore the mask.

Guzmán bides his time before moving to report Clara Luz kidnapped Pipe (along with the inheritance he covets). He also wants to send Lichita to school to learn English. Dámaso offers Aidé emotional support (as viewerville collectively rolls our eyes).

Vibora Paulina uses Lila to help convince Jason her “love and concern” for Emi is real. She badmouths Bertha for not protecting Emi as well as Tino for introducing Fed into their lives.

In the last scene, the judge awards custody of Emi to Tino. Lila will be given a psychological examination and a say as to whom she will live with.

We open with a montage of pictures of Tino and Paulina with Emi and Lila, years ago when the children were young. It’s immediately apparent that Tino looks happy, Paulina stressed.

Jason tells the judge the children shouldn’t be separated, which copycat Paulina ends up echoing later in her oh so insincere manner.

From what ensues during tonight’s episode, I gather the judge gave custody of Lila to Paulina, based on Lila’s wishes. If this is wrong, kindly correct.

Luchita talks with Guzmán telling him Clara Luz came to her house, they are friends.

PAPAS #63 Part 2

La Calacas, a gun tucked into his pants, confronts maxiclick vest wearing Checo. La Calacas threatens him and then punches Checo in the stomach, hard.

Aidé and Uli talk about the influencer Facundo traded houses with. She encourages her son as he cries, wondering about the mask and who attacked him. Further discussion ends as Circe, Lila and Scarlet come out and hug their mother. They are all going to see Uli.

Paulina, Jason and Tino talk about Emi going to the US. Then Tino and Paulina argue about Lila.

Rudolf talks about a lawyer as Clara Luz holds his face in her hands. Pipe pipes up and they go over to his play table and kneel with the sweet boy.

Circe is feeling lovey dovey with Checo but he is not in the mood. Circe tries to talk to him about his father. He is angry and baits her, saying something about the university/school. She gets upset and he storms out.

Tino has his arm around Lila as they walk down the hospital corridor. She sems to be agonizing over the difficult decision she has to make. He is kind and supportive, telling her he loves her kissing her on the forehead. He tells her what a wonderful person she is and they hug tightly.

Circe goes into her room crying as she thinks back to the half hour of happiness she and Checo shared. A quick succession of their few scenes together (handing her a pink rose in one) airs as she lies on the bed and cries. Such teen angst and agony.

Oh no, yet another meeting. Guzman talks about grave problems and channels the brunt of his anger toward Fed with plenty left to go around the room. In a later scene he focuses on Lichita saying something about the manager of maximax (?). Lichita and Igor give each other glances. Later, to her credit, Lichita does bring up the cell Guzmán gave Chofis. She is clearly uncomfortable and while I can’t convey what he said to try and explain, he is obviously upset after she leaves.

Lila talks to Aidé about Emi being fragile. Aidé tells her she knows it’s a hard decision taking her hands in hers. She tells Aidé te quiero.

Fed takes her frustrations out on Chano, screaming like a banshee as Igor squirms in.

PAPAS #63 Part 3 of 3

Paulina is promising Lila many things, including piano lessons. Lila seems a bit hesitant, talking about Emi and Tino. Does she tell her Tino’s primary preoccupation is Emi? “Carino” Paulina purrs, stroking Lil’s face with her finger.

The family gathering is in full force, replete with ballons. I believe Lila say she is going with her mother. Tino talks with her later seemingly telling her that it is fine if that is what she wants to do. She looks guilty and tormented. He tells her he wants her and her brother to be happy. Forgive me he says, por she asks. They end up hugging. Aidé and Bertha come in. Lila says she is going to tell her hermanos as Bertha dissolves in tears.

Pipe overhears something Clara Luz and Rudolf discuss and gets upset.

It seems Lila has told everyone her decision. The children are gracious but Emi looks sad. Aidé smiles lovingly and Bertha blesses her with words of encouragement. Tino looks stoic but gives a lovely speech. Jason and Paulina enter and she sputters more “carinos”. Lila approaches Emi as he tells his sister how marvelous she is; te amo hermana. Tino kisses her again and everyone calls out to her. Jason turns and sort of smiles as everyone’s faces fall after they leave.

Jason tries to soothe Lila’s feelings by mentioning Emi but Paulina tries to change the subject by bringing up shopping. Jason chastises her saying how important Tino and Emi are to Lila. Lila overhears something else.

Guzmán texts Chofis as to why she told her mother about the phone.

Aidé (in a pretty silk nightgown and matching robe) sits with Tino and tries to cheer him up. He moves and sits next to her on the couch and thanks her. They lean forward and almost kiss but Aidé pulls back, talking about the busy day they have tomorrow. Goodnights are exchanged with obvious regret.

Jason leaves just as Fed arrives, walking brazenly into Paulina’s room as Lila listens outside the door. I can’t translate what was said but I believe Fed spits out accusatorily that they are accomplices and Paulina talks about Fed torturing Emi. Fed struts out as Lila stares aghast. If someone would please fill in exactly what was said, I would appreciate it as this was such a crucial scene.

Igor and Guzmán talk about Clara Luz, he seems to manipulate him into trying to get evidence against her. Meanwhile, Clara Luz and Rudolf’s hand puppets make another appearance as they play with Pipe.

Chofis plays with Chuchito as Lichita reads a text from Guzmán “explaining” why he gave Chofis the phone. (If it was anything important, kindly explain). Lichita flashes back to different interactions with Guzmán and Chofis. She looks thoughtful.

Clara Luz, Rudolf and Pipe, in full masks and gear leave the house with Igor following.

Lila is in tears dragging her suitcase down the outside hotel’s stairs. Meanwhile, Jason returns to the hotel room asking where Lila is. Paulina goes into Lila’s room, finding not Lila, but a note. She runs back to her room waving it at Jason. Lila is gone!

I am including a somewhat lengthy summary of previous episodes for several reasons. It not only helps me in reviewing what occurred previously but it also sets the record straight, adding things I missed and correcting things I got wrong. I so appreciate our small but loyal and savvy patio who contribute so much. Needless to say, with the constantly changing scenes and endless talk, I had another very difficult time with tonight’s episode.

Las hijas #67 part 1
Luis reached for Cecilia's hand in the light, but then fell back on the bed and didn't go.

Mar is being taunted by her 3 cell mates , the rich princess tried to kill her rich husband. Mar insists she isn't like them, she is innocent. The nice cellmate that gave her the blanket wasn't in this scene.

Rocio bumps into Arturo. She introduces herself, says she is there visiting a family member who has had surgery. She fawns all over him calling him such a good son for staying all night with his sick dad. They get a coffee together. She tells him she will support him all night. He gets uncomfortable and says I'm going to check on dad. He puts his coffee cup outside the hospital room and says how strange she is. He talks to Luis, who then opens his eyes briefly but says nothing. Arturo yells for the Dr as a nurse rushes in, then the Dr. They check Luis eyes.

Cami and Juan arrive back to his room Cami is on the phone with Leo. Hell keep her informed if there is any change in dad, then she tells Leo to promise Mar stats in prison for the rest of her life. He promises she will get what she deserves. Juan gives Cami a sad look. She demands to know why he looks like that. He says I know Mar and she would never do something like that. Cami insists she'll pay.

The Dr tells Arturo sometimes patients have involuntary reactions, it means nothing. Arturo thinks it is a good sign but the Dr isn't promising anything.

Boston girl ,( Mich?) gets a call from Nick. He fills her in on dad. He's staying in Mexico for now.

Val visits Mar in jail. What are you doing here, Mar asks. I'm going to help you. Mar says I don't deserve your help after the way I treated you and mom. What happened. Mar tells her Paula gave her drops to relax Luis, but it was a lie. Val shakes her head, how could you have confidence in her?

Hector visits Nick. They discuss the case against Mar. She admits to giving Luis drops, natural remedy, that Paula recommended. Paula claims she did but then Mar must have switched them. Nick doesn't believe the Garcia girls could do this and he wants Hector to discover the truth. ( Is he a PI now too?)

Val and Mar talk some more. A lawyer ( public defender?) has told her the case is complicated .
Val tells her to be strong. Times up. Mar asks how is Luis, as she is hauled away. Val says everything will be okay.

Leo is playing Lord of the manor at work, demanding of Luis secretary all the things dad had been working on. I'm in charge now. But but, the secretary tries to interrupt. She is dismissed.. Paula swans in, my love, finally you are where you belong. He feels strange in this role. She says together we will run this business like nobody has seen before. But dad may recover. True, but now is the time to show what you are made of. First order of business, get Mar divorced from dad. I'll see you at home, love you .he isn't looking at her strangely like the previous episode, guess she has hoodwinked him again.

Val leaves the jail to an awaiting O who asks how is Mar. She's been assigned a public defender. She told me Paula is behind it. O knew it. Looks like she is going to track Paula down and she'll wish she had never been born by the time she is done with her.

Leo goes to Hector about the divorce. Mar needs to be the one to sign the decree. Leo will get her to sign it, give it to me. Ok, fine, Hector hands it over. Leo says we are going to get her out of our lives.

 

Las hijas #67 part 2

Leo is now visiting Mar. She asks what's up. He asks, why did you do it. I didn't anything. I would never put him in danger. Prove it, sign this divorce decree. Mar stares at him.

Val talks to the lawyer. He tells her it's complicated. She gave him medicine without his consent ( true, guilty of that). Val promises to pay him more even though she has little money, to help her sister. He says it's not a question of money. Don't get your hopes up as he walks away. Our galan, Nick, shows up to see how Val is doing. Val says Mar is innocent. You all want to convict her, but she is incapable of doing such a thing. Nick says I also have my doubts. He wants to find the truth. He is putting Hector in the case. But , he says, if he finds out she is guilty, Mar will have to face justice. Val agrees.

Back to Mar and Leo. He says you only married him for money. He is on the point of death. She says you have no idea how proud your dad is of all his children. I did not do this. You need to know your wife better. But fine, if you think that is why I married him, I'll sign the papers. Leo has been looking uncomfortable, but this really shocks him. As he reaches for the papers, she warns him about Paula again. If you don't believe me, you are in danger from her.

Val is complaining to Nick about Arturo believing Mar is guilty. Looks like she is seeing the gem this brother is compared to Arturo. He's off to talk to the lawyer. She grabs his hands and thanks him.

O is on the warpath and the 2 maids are no match for her. Wonder where the guards that would patrol the front steps have disappeared to. At any rate tall maid gets thrown to the ground as the other one backs off ..where is Paula. O tosses her purse on the kitchen counter and grabs a knife. No one messes with my daughter's. Paula runs to her room and locks the door. The maids once again try to stop the armed O calling her crazy. She agrees. They run off to get the security guards, O grabs a candlestick and smashes the window of the door and unlocks it and threatens Paula with the knife. ( Will she be sharing Mar's cell soon?

Cami thinks dad opening his eyes was a good sign . Arturo, still at the hospital, says you should go home and rest. I thought they were taking shifts, shouldn't it be her turn. At any rate now Nick shows up, so perhaps it's his turn. He says first he has to meet with the lawyer to see what really happened. Cami goes ballistic, she blames Mar for everything and may she never see the light of day again ( my elaboration). Juan starts defending Mar and that sets her off even more. The 2bleave. Arturo stares at Nick with a belligerent look.

Back to O. You messed with my daughter. I'm going to kill you. The guards and Leo rush in. Paula backs away and falls to the floor hyper ventilating. O tells Leo he has a viper in his house, Paula took advantage of innocent Mar to kill his father. Leo tells her to shut up. Is the light dawning or what, I'm not sure.

Nick and Arturo talk about dad opening his eyes. Nick bolsters Arturo up about dad always encouraging them to have faith. He tells him he saw Val. Arturo says she still is keeping me at a distance. Nick says but you love her. I do, but there is someone even more important than her in my life, you and my siblings. Family.

O is still telling Luis about the awful wife he has. Paula points out Luchita also saw Mar put the drops in the food. Luchita is looking a bit guilty since she was Paula's accomplice. Leo tells the guards to drag o away and the maids to clean up the broken glass. Paula rushes to Leo's arms, hug me she tried to kill me. Oh yeah, he has doubts.

Rocio runs into Arturo again. She asks him a bunch of questions which makes him ask how do you know so much about me. Your family makes all the papers. He tells her by, I'm going home to rest as he rushes away from her.
 

Las hijas #67 part 3

Leo is putting Paula in the hot seat. Why would Mar accuse you. Because everyone in this house wants to blame me, Paula defends. Leo is very suspicious. You doubt me? He has questions, and he walks away.

Susana and Cami are doing laundry together with Susana talking non stop.about the baby and what Cami will expect. She tells her the first thing you will learn is patience. Cami grabs her side in pain .. miscarriage alert! Susana has her sit down suggests tea and a Dr visit Cami thinks maybe it's because of the worry for her dad

Paula goes to the kitchen. Luchita Lupita? is washing dishes. Paula gulps down a glass of water. Lu asks how she is. Paula tells her she needs to make her declaration. Lu doesn't want to be involved. Paula insists you just need to say what you saw angrily. If you don't tell them you are an accomplice, you understand. Lu isn't sure what she saw. Paula says you saw what I told you.

Cami is still rubbing her side, though she feels better. She wants to go to the hospital to see dad, she has a presentiment and needs to be there ( so when she has that ectopic pregnancy burst she will survive I'm thinking). Susana is going with her in case she feels bad again. They are family and she is taking care of her

Val is still hanging out outside the jail. Mom isn't answering her phone. Juan arrives. He's worried about Mar. He knows what it's like being jailed for a crime you didn't commit.

Leo gives Hector the signed divorce papers. Hector is surprised. If she signed this then she gets nothing if Luis dies. If she poisoned him why would she have signed these and gain nothing. I don't think she did it. Leo has more to think about.

Mar is popular today. Now Juan gets to see her. Why are you here. Because I know you are innocent and don't deserve to be here. Mar disagrees, I do deserve it for being a fool. For believing Paula and falling into her trap, I'm so stupid. Juan disagrees with her calling her smart, unique and full of goodness. There is nobody like you. Despite Everything that has happened between us I still love you. Mar also loves him, but he needs to continue with his life, with Cami and their baby, while she has her baby here in jail, alone. ( Do Mexican jails allow the baby to stay with Mom for a few years while in jail?)

Nick and Hector discuss Mar signing the divorce apers. They both think Mar is innocent. Nick wants to find out everything that happened to help her

Lila still needs to see a therapist and then choose. She did choose Paulina ( without seeing the therapist yet) through more arm twisting by Paulina. Tino has decided she can stay with them while things are formalized.

Luchita also told Guzman that Clara was moving far away, I think.

Checo broke up with Circe ( to protect her).

Luchita has secured a meeting with Brezelius. The only high point in the business. Guzman is running it into the ground and threatened to fire everyone. Luchita gets a promotion, the Igor's job. Igor gets demoted, he now answers to Luchita.

Kat, thank you for your excellent rendition of this rather wild ride. This episode was here, there and everywhere and you covered it with wit and wisdom. Loved "Paula swans in".

"O grabs a candlestick and smashes the window of the door and unlocks it and threatens Paula with the knife". I have to admit I kind of liked Ofelia going all Jack Nicholson in The Shining; if anyone deserves it it's Paula! Not smirking too much tonight were you Paula? Everyone has their breaking point and Ofelia went way past it.

The most shocking moment of the night was Ofelia hugging Juan not just once, but going back in a second time. Light finally dawns on how wrong she has been, how many terrible mistakes she has made. But all is not lost. Finally, she is on the road to redemption.

Mar's scene with Juan was touching I thought. They will always love each other and I hope they get their happy ending as convoluted as the route there will be.

Clara and Rudolph discuss going away to Argentina, I think. Pipe thinks they are leaving him behind which is what made him upset.

Jason wants to get Tino a work permit and hire him so the kids can stay close. Paula is against it.

You pretty much got the Fede and Paulina chat.

The text was actually from Chofis teacher. She hasn't improved in school. Luchita now is suspicious.

Thanks, Kat. This was great. “Miscarriage alert” indeed. That would conveniently take care of one too many babies/one too many ties with the most likely an “ex” at the end of this.

As for Ofelia “sharing Mar’s cell soon”, that should be a real possibility with her brandishing the knife.

I could not believe Juan hugging Ofelia when she put him in and let him rot in jail based on her crazy lie way back at the beginning. Give me a break!

Looks like Paula’s luck is about to change.

Luis needs to recover quickly or die. I am tired of yet more hospital scenes.

I have to admit I loved Ofelia going all Jack Nicholson (a la The Shining)! No one deserves it more than Paula.

Ofelia has come to her senses. Her somewhat crazed senses but nevertheless...Her hugging Juan not once but twice was other wordly. And he hugged her back. I do want he and Mar together and hope that happens.

"Cami grabs her side in pain .. miscarriage alert!" seemed (sadly) prophetic.

Jarifa, "Luis needs to recover quickly or die". I agree; Paula's reign of terror needs to come to an end.

Yikes, O grabs a knife and goes after Paula . Paula has met her match in crazy O. Note to self, never put glass doors on your bedroom.

Nick is proving to be the hero of this tale. Juan is also stepping up , so Mar has some folks behind her.

Leo is still doing what Paula tells him to do , but he is no longer adoring her. He gets some very odd looks on his face . susan

Thanks, Diana, for the great recap. And thanks to Kat for filling in details. I can’t add much except Paulina told Lila how her dad loved Emi so much and she seemed to imply that all his love went to Emi, not Lila.

I’m glad Luchita is finally getting suspicious of Guzman. He’s raving about how well Chofis is doing as the reason for the cell phone and the teacher’s text is saying there’s no improvement. Also great to hear business isn’t doing well. I can’t add much now picture Aide getting her business back!

I couldn’t understand the conversation between Fed and Paulina but I’m hoping something was mentioned about what Fed did in the hospital. Since Emi is home I doubt the doctors looked for anything while he was in the coma. I guess Lila’s note didn’t say anything to make Jason suspicious of Paulina.

Thanks for the great recap Kat. This was a good episode. Doesn’t Luis have to also sign the divorce papers. Anyway, with Mar divorced and Camila about to miscarriage it seems an opening for Mar and Juan. Ofelia seems to be on his side now. I did like that she hugged him. Hopefully she realizes they really love each other. When they married Luis seemed adamant that her baby would carry the Porfelio name. My opinion is that Mar would be crazy to ever return to that house of horrors. But would Susana ever accept her? Luis has to live so we can see him react to Leo’s actions. I guess Paula didn’t think that the divorce would make Mar look innocent. But I couldn’t believe that when Paula was in his office telling him how he’s now head of the company, and they have the house to themselves, he didn’t put everything together.

Rocio was a little bit crazy in those hospital scenes. She sure made Arturo uncomfortable. I hope she’s not the real mother to one of the brothers.

Thank you, Kat, that was a great read of a pretty good episode.

I was surprised to see Ofelia finally accept Juan. And hug him also. And not a minute to soon, as Mar is about to have her baby in jail. I'm pretty sure the baby would not stay with her behind bars, but be handed to a close relative or to protective services.

Leo is finally seeing the light, but the true hero turns out to be Nick. He loves his dad just as much as the others, but he can keep an open mind and give Mar a fighting chance. If Val deosn't open her eyes to him now, then she is truly stupid.

What a fabulous comment! First, I hadn't understood how Guzman tried to explain giving Chofis the phone. Now I do! I also didn't realize Chofis' teacher was the one who sent Lichita the text til Kat pointed that out. You explaining she said Chofis hasn't improved is pivotal! Catching Guzman dead to rights so to speak.

I wonder what Lichita is going to do about it?

I have a funny feeling that the writers are going to redeem screaming Mimi Susana . It looks like Juan is in Mar 's corner , and ..wow..he saved O and they hugged . If Juan and Mar and bebe makes three for a HEA, Susana will want to be that bebe's abuela. It will be interesting to see those two abuelas together fussing over the bebe. Kind Jacinto, of course, will be doting abuelo.

Juegos #24

Lots of things happening in this episode. I had some difficulty with the dialogue but understood most of the important stuff. Mariana and Ines sibling squabbling and talk of former and current lovers confused me. It got a bit clearer later on

As expected Enrique managed to shut Adrien up before he spilled the beans to Luci. After she left Enrique went ballistic on Adrien, including beating him with a belt. Ines stopped him by telling him you are not your father ( looks like Enrique's father was abusive). In a flashback scene we see his dad blaming him for his mother's death. This occurred a day after the piano flashback scene from a previous episode.

Memo goes to Alex and manhandles her and threatens her in the doorway of her home. Luci shows up a minute too late, of course. He justifies his anger with Alex by saying my cousin is a mess because she broke up with him. Memo leaves and Luci counsels Alex and asks questions about Adrien and his drinking problem. When did it start? Alex wrings her hands and tries to answer but I'm thinking Luci is getting suspicious.

Enrique is now visiting Elena. He doesn't want her to sell her apartment. He will pay for the hospital bills and she can pay him back by playing that song again. There was a joke by Elena about a video that I didn't understand if anyone got that. She plays it for him and he gets a serene look on his face. You play just like she did. It brings back her memory, also your home reminds me too. Omar comes in and has a jealous outburst. Enrique leaves and he and Elena argue. She tells him Enrique doesn't want me to have to sell. Omar says I don't want you to either. Elena needs to get away from the memories of Tobias everywhere she looks. Omar is the opposite. She can't be at peace till that other guy that killed Toby is in custody. Omar says he is gone, but realizes his mistake and says he's likely in another country by now.

German and Memo have a moment. German figures Memo has a thing for his cousin. Memo gets scary looking. He doesn't like Pato talking about personal things with German.

Mariana and Ines now have their conversation. A former lover of Mariana is mentioned, Leonardo. Mariana is upset her husband no longer desires her, I think. At any rate I thought initially they were talking about some famous poet or singer that Mariana had a fixation for. Ends up he is a real guy from her past and they go for a drink, or 3 or 4 and talk about things.

Fabiola's dad meets Luci at the police station. Gaby has seen her there and figured she and dad were still together and dad was lying about them no longer being together. She realizes that Luci works there when she and Fabiola's dad, whose name I've forgotten, have a session. They are going to Chofis house to talk.

Fermin is Enrique's dad. He calls Francisco. Seems like fermin' has been paid well to stay out of Enrique' s life but he wasted it on wine and women. Fermin is old now and wants to reconnect with his son. He then brings up the death of Luci's parents.

So Luci and Fab's dad discuss her. She needs medicine and therapy but does well under those conditions. She came to Mexico city to study. Dad was in an accident that made him bedridden for a while and has left him with the limp he has. It ends up he is a well known reporter. Natalia comes in and is introduced. She knows him by reputation and admires him. They discuss the fact Fabiola was working in a case before she disappeared. The case that my dead parents were involved in. Lightbulb moment for him.

This is the short version. Like I said a lot of revelations in this episode.

Susan, it does seem they have been softening up Susana. I wonder if the tension between her and So goes back to a guy. Perhaps O's husband dated Susana before buying O from her parents. Initially I thought maybe O had perhaps been unfaithful with Jacinto, but that would have raised the possibility of incest between Juan and Mar and that has never even been hinted at. Looks like Cami will have no guy in this show, unless Hector falls for her after she grows up some.

Yes, Enrique went ballistic . Watching him beat Adrian was so awful. I am beginning to feel sorry for this kid who has both Enrique and creepy Memo on him all the time .

Fantastic recap of a fun episode! The only thing I don't like is that Mar didn't tell Juan that he's the baby's daddy. Shouldn't her mommy instincts be telling her something other than I'm about to have a baby along in jail? Luis might be dying, she signed divorce papers, and she thinks she's going to rot in prison, shouldn't she be securing baby's future with daddy???

Mar might be good, innocent, kind and all of that but she just isn't smart! As much as I want to root for her, she just doesn't ever help herself out!!!

Speaking of not being your own best friend, Leo is so close and yet so very far away...

I don't want Susana to be redeemed. She's been horrible the entire time. I'm guessing most of these people are going to get to be horrible human beings and get rewarded with a HEA for their troubles! Sigh
 

Papas #64 part 1

Paulina rushes in with the note from Lila. Jason is baffled. Lila just said she was changing her clothes and now she's gone with all her stuff. Paulina really wants her daughter and wants Jason to help her find her

Uli is giving his evidence about the attack to a detective. All he can remember as pertinent information is the mask, no voice, way of walking eye color etc was noticed. Plus it happened 2 years ago. The evidence is too sparse to arrest Facundo.

Rudolph and Clara are walking in a park with Pipe. They have a story to tell him, he's all excited to learn what they have been hiding from him. Once upon a time ...

Chofis, using her old cell, is texting with Yeni. The gossip is one of their classmates is pregnant. Chano comes in, wondering why she isn't using her cell that she got as a reward.

Jason is on a reconnaissance mission at Tino's house. No Lila there. He doesn't say she is missing, uses an excuse she left something behind. He texts Paulina, not here. She says then get back here so we can search for her

Back at the Police, the detective can't make a case based on a mask and nothing else. Uli runs out with Aide rushing after him. Tino tells the detective his job is to solve sex abuse crimes and, not do nothing. Uli feels like a fool after talking to the detective. They probably think I made it up. Uli says I need time to put the pieces together in my head and continue with my therapy. They will support him .

Lila is sitting crying with her suitcase beside her. Looks like she is deleting messages from mom. She does read one from Tino who misses her and loves her so much. 3 middle aged men approach her. Fortunately they just want her phone and not her. They grab it from her and she runs away, nearly getting run over by an electric scooter.

Rudolph is explaining that his and Clara's great love has a name. It's Pipe. We are your parents. He smiles but is confused. Clara says they will explain more when he is bigger, but the 3 of them are a family. Pipe says ok.

Jason is searching near Tino's house while Paulina is looking around the hotel streets. No Lila. Jason wants to notify the police. She thinks she will lose custody if they do that. She does have the good sense to call Tino though. Circe has Lila phone location on hers. Bertha too it seems. Aide tells Bertha to stay here in case she returns, well get Augusto to help and I'm calling the police.

Luchita, Chano talk about the phone. Chano doesn't really pay attention, he has to go back to work so Luchita' doesn't say why she took it away. She does tell him she needs to tell him something muy choncho though. ( This family drives me crazy with what I assume are slang words all starting in ch).

Bertha, Scarlett and Emi pray to the Virgin as the rest of the family searches for Lila in vain.

Back to Pipe. Having 2 moms is great, though he misses his Silvana mom. They say that is great, he should never forget her or Pura, they were the ones that loved him from the day he was born. Silvana always wanted a son, and you were the best. Pipe sweetly tells them he liked them very much from the first day he met them. More family bonding. They are off to get ice cream, then Igor pos up in the distance. He texts Guzman.

Chofis is being gently questioned by mom about Guzman. Remember when you told me he made you uncomfortable. Chofis says the phone was an innocent secret. But she looks a little upset.

Yay, Jason has found Lila. He calms her down. He tells her you don't know me well but I am here for you. First let's call dad though so he doesn't worry. Jason will bring her back to Dad's house. Lila asks about him and her mom. She is the love of my life and finding you and emi made it even better. She looks sad. So maybe she isn't going to spill the beans. Jason gives her a fatherly hug. Everything will be all right.

 

Papas #64 part 2

Luchita and Chofis talk. He gave me the phone. He feels alone no friends. He gave me a small kiss on the lips. Luchita is irate. Chofis says that all it was. This isn't 1944 ( strange date to pull out of the air), and runs off. Luchita sends Chano a text. We need to talk tonight. It's urgent.

Guzman and Fede talk. It's time to prove your loyalty. Time to send Tino to jail. Igor knocks and enters with news. Guzman dismisses Fede.

Jason is in an open air restaurant with Lila trying to figure out her actions. Why did you write such a mean note to your mom. She says you love her so much, I can't tell you Jason says you can confide in me. She is about to talk when Paulina, Tino and Aide rush up. They couldn't wait once they knew where she was. Lila tells Tino she doesn't want to go to the US and leave them. Paulina wants answers. Lila says I'll tell you at the hotel, alone.

Igor is lying to Guzman. I spent hours outside Silvana's place and only saw Rudolph. Not sure what game he is playing.

Lila tells mom I can never forgive you for hating Emi. You deserted us and lied. Paulina tries to win her over but fails.

Tino, Circe, Jason, aide and Augusto are in the hotel lobby. Tino is confused. He asks Jason do you know why she changed her mind. He says no, I didn't have enough time to get the story from her but I think she is mad at Paulina. Jason is told by a bellhop that there is a message for him at the desk. He goes there and the receptionist gives him a note from someone. It's about his wife.

Lila and Paulina talk some more through tears on both their faces. Lila tells her it's too late for us. Go away and stay away from us. Paulina thanks her for not telling Jason about her

The 2 go down to the lobby. Lila thanks Jason. He would make a wonderful dad, but she doesn't want to leave her family. Jason tells her she has a great dad in Tino. He also tells Tino that he will look for the best place in the US for Emi's treatment. Last hugs between Jason and Lila, she doesn't hug Paulina. Tino and company leave. Paulina pulls a incant believe the things Tino told Lila to drive her away from us. Jason tells her he loves her, gives her a kiss, he has some work to deal with. She leaves and he takes the slip of paper the receptionist gave him from his pocket.

Lila and Tino talk. He asks why she didn't come straight to him when she left the hotel. I didn't understand her reply, perhaps she wasn't sure he wanted her because of what Paulina had said.

So the person that has info about Paulina is our least favorite Fede. He asks why should I believe you, you who mistreat an innocent boy. Because I have proof! She recorded the conversation with Paulina where she hoped for a bad surgical outcome for Emi.

Circe and mom talk. She tells her she and Checo broke up and she has non Lue why. She has lost the love of her life. Aide comforts her.
 

Papas #64 part 3

Aide and Tino talk about the kids and their current difficulties. Jason calls Tino. They need to talk. Jason will send him his location. He tells aide Jason sounds bad. Do you want me to go with you, Aide asks. Tino gets a message and shows it to her.

Jason is now in the hotel room with Paulina. She's packing her bags. She needs to leave this place of sadness. He says well go to Martinique. She's so happy. She needs other clothes. He tells her go buy whatever you want. He is angry but she is oblivious.

Funny scene. Luchita' is trying to tell Chano about Chofis at a restaurant. A guy walks up saying Alicia ( her real name). He thinks she is his blind date. Chano thinks she invited him to meet her new guy. He is out of there. A lady flags down the guy that had approached Luchita, it's me, Alicia. Oops.

Jason is sending Paulina off to Martinique alone, he has business to attend to. She kisses him goodbye. You are the most important thing in my life. He looks sad as she rushes off to catch her flight.

Paulina arrives at a low budget hotel that's only been reserved for 3 night's. She figures it's a mistake. She calls Jason. He tells her she got what she deserves, he knows all. Flashback scene to Tino showing him the letter Paulina wrote when she abandoned him 8 years ago. Jason can't believe he didn't use this against her. He says I did it for the kids. Jason wants to help with Emi and Tino thankfully agrees. What about Paulina, will you stay with her. Nope.

Back to his call with Paulina. She tries to blame Tino, Fede, Lila ....he says we are through. She says I'll take you for all I can get. No dear, you signed a prenup. Oh, BTW your papers are gone and your credit cards are cancelled. Good luck in your new life. (Well stealing her passport was a bit cruel, but he rest she deserved.)

Kat, your recap was a crystal clear reflection of all of the pivotal, mostly sad events that transpired tonight. Your translation of the events and dialogue was superb, as always.

Paulina's abandonment and cruelty toward her son, hoping he would not survive, deserved a far more harsh ending than kind hearted Jason gave her. She betrayed her daughter's trust yet again and broke her heart. Yet we know Tino and Aide will help her mend it.

I am trying to think what hellacious ending "our least favorite Fede" should suffer...

"He gave me a small kiss on the lips. Luchita is irate". As well she should be. Hopefully she will end Chofis' sessions with Guzman immediately. If only easily distracted Chano would sit and listen to what Lichita needs to say!

Little worm Igor is deliberately misleading Guzman. I wonder what is going on in that strange little brain of his. I am surprised Clara Luz and Rudolf haven't hightailed it out of there, whisking Pipe away....

Las hijas, capitulo 68
Part 1/2

Ofelia and Juan kiss and make up. Why couldn’t she be this nice to him months ago? So much pain could have been avoided. She wants to stay at the jail, she can’t leave her daughter. Both Val and Juan insist she needs to go home, take care of herself also.

At the hospital Camila meets with her brothers. Susana thinks she should see a doctor.
Juan gets home, but he’s so distracted, Jacinto realizes something is off. He tells his father he went to see Mar and told her he still loved her. He felt so bad for her, she was so alone. Jacinto is sympathetic, but he reminds his son he has a wife and a baby on the way. He needs to stop, open his eyes and be thankful for what he has. Mar has caused him so much pain, what is he doing? Maybe he doesn’t love Camila that much, but when he will get to carry his son, Mar will become a distant memory.

Nick doesn’t think Mar tried to kill their father, she just signed the divorce papers. Art seems impressed, but Camila still thinks she’s guilty.
Enter Priscilla, back from wherever. She tells Art she has been working a lot on herself with her doctors. She is not the same woman anymore and she feels so bad for what she’s done in the past.
Art can’t leave fast enough, he says he has a meeting and Nick leaves with him.

At home Val tells Ofelia to keep her distance from the Portillas. Everything will be fine, she is certain, because Nick will help them. Ofelia is amazed that Nick is always the one to step up and not Art, who is supposed to love her so much.

In jail Mar thinks everything is her fault for not telling Juan the truth when she should have. There is no more Luis to help, she needs to be responsible and take care of her baby.

Camila and Priscila talk about Cam having a baby and being married. She is going to see her doctor, she asks Priscila to borrow some money for the check-up. Art has been sleeping on the couch, Priscila brought him some coffee.
When she leaves, Camila tells Art she thinks Priscila is very different now, maybe she and Art can become friends again.

Val answers the door while only covered in a big bath towel because she thinks it’s her mom who forgot her keys. But it’s Nick who has come to tell her Mar signed the divorce papers. He tries not to look at her because she is half naked, but he gets a bit flustered.

Camila goes to see her doctor. He sees something is not OK, she has an ectopic pregnancy. And her life is at risk, also, she needs to stop the pregnancy. Camila refuses to believe it.

Ofelia has been waiting for Lupita in the street. She asks her to tell the truth about everything that she knows. Lupita says she always treated her so badly. Yes and Ofelia apologizes for that, but Mar has never treated her badly. She is defending a bad woman, her daughter is not a criminal. She falls to her knees and begs for her help, but Lupita just runs away.

Leo is surprised Mar signed the divorce papers. Paula thinks she was just trying to save face. When will she be sentenced? Leo says they are still investigating, they need to gather all the necessary evidence.

Val visits Mar and tells her Nick is helping them investigate. Mar tells her Leo made her sign divorce papers. But all she cares about is to prove that Paula is guilty.

 

Las hijas, Capitulo 68
Part 2/2

Camila is sad, she can’t lose her baby. When she gets home she hides her state from Susana. She tells her everything is OK and Susana assumes she is just worried about being a good mother. But she will always be there to help.
Alone in her room, she is crying because she is afraid Juan will leave her if he finds out. Juan arrives with flowers and a bag. She says they need to talk, but Juan promises to start being more present for her and the baby. He bought some baby stuff also. She starts talking about going to see the doctor, but Juan is so happy, she doesn’t dare tell him the truth.

Art and Leo talk about Leo’s decision to start running the company. Dad told him to take charge. Art is surprised, is the board of directors aware? No, but this is their company, they have the power to decide.

Ofelia prays to the Virgen for Mar’s life. Her daughters are not to blame for her many mistakes.

Paula goes to see her reporter friend and tells him Mar has tried to kill Luis with some drops. He is happy to get the news, he will publish it immediately.
Back home she runs into Art and offers her support. Leo said that the police is still investigating, right? Yes, the police will ask everyone to declare.
This is very worrisome for Paula. She goes snooping in the kitchen and puts a bottle of the famous drops in a small hand bag that was just sitting on the counter. Lupita’s bag?

Nick and Hector have come to see Val and they tell her there are some contradictions in the declarations and the police need to further investigate; Nick is sure that Mar will be free.
When Hector leaves, Val thanks Nick for his help. They talk about Luis still being bad and Val gets sad. Nick encourages her, they get close as he touches her face. It’s innocent enough, but Ofelia arrives just then and she notices the whole interaction.
As Nick leaves, Val says that the lawyer is helping them a lot. And it’s all thanks to Nick, he’s a good person. Ofelia wonders if something more is going on. Val is shocked, he is Arturo’s brother! Ofelia thinks he might have other intentions also. Why isn’t Art helping her? Val refuses to believe Nick has other intentions, are both of Ofelia’s daughters that stupid?

Leo is at the company, telling Hector that he’s taking over for his father and even decided to sit in his chair. Hector hasn’t found any legal document where his father let Leo in charge, but Leo just brushes him off, he and his brothers decided. Hector explains they need the board of directors to approve, but Leo insists they are the owners, it is their decision. Hector says he’s not ready to run the company.
Leo threatens Hector that if he’s not ready to accept the change that is coming, maybe he should find a different job.

Saul is back. He’s still in jail and has been trying to appeal to get back his freedom. He is helped by his brother, Paula won’t get away with it. Saul warns him to be very careful with her. His brothers thinks they need to tell Leo the whole truth about her past.

Nick is talking with his ex on the phone. He still plans to come to Boston, but not quite yet.
Then he goes to see Luis. He prays to God and Luis finally wakes up.

Thanks Adriana. I hope Cami takes the abortion pill. I'm not sure it really works on ectopic pregnancy though. I think the writers should have researched this, then if she really wants to keep Juan she just needs to get pregnant again, it happened so easily the first time. Juan is a very virile man....no shooting blanks from him. But now her best friend Priss is back Juan may not be such a catch to her after all. When I see the actress playing Priss I think how pretty she is, she should have been the spokesmodel. Val's looks don't appeal to me personally so I haven't seen the draw she has on Arturo and Nick. Yeah, neither of O's daughters won the brains contest, did they?

I wondered if the purse had been a spare one of Mar's in the kitchen but it being Lupita's makes much more sense. So far Lupita's been in her corner, this treachery will likely backfire on Paula. Go Saul's brother, bring on the anvils.

Leo is a piece of work. Glad Luis finally woke up so he can follow through on kicking him out of the company and hopefully the house.

Ofelia can pray all she wants for forgiveness, but her meddlesome behavior seems to have not changed with hervtelling Val that Nico is most likely interested in her even though I agree that Val is just as stupid as her sister (and Juan). I still cannot believe Juan forgave Ofelia for his stint in jail.

Gracias, amigas, for these two great recaps. So, things are finally happening with only 14 episodes left.

I'm not a doctor and never played one on TV but ectopic pregnancies can be ended with an injection of methotrexate if caught early enough. I would think that it would be before the woman is in pain, as Camila was. These writers haven't been doing their homework, including the fact that Camila should also be showing.

It does look like Leo is finally catching on but his own power play will be his downfall. While Saul is seriously repulsive it's good that his brother is on the case. The result will be "dirt for days" in the gossip press.

I was seriously worried at Ofelia wielding the knife the other night while remembering that the original story is Turkish, as those don't gyarantee happy endings.

My opinion about the model situation has not changed; Valeria is the right one. Her body is more normal and natural-looking than Prissy's and she is more relatable in other ways. That she is a fitness professional also gives her more credibility. She isn't a spoiled silver-spoon brat, either.

Has anyone ever told Oka Giner that she looks like Ava Gardner?

I do agree that Juan should be tougher on Ofelia in view of how many injuries he suffered in jail because of her lies. Nobody deserves that.

As expected, Cam is putting her health and indeed her life at risk refusing to accept the inevitable. Too bad Juan chose that particular night to shower her with flowers and baby clothes. Timing has never been in Juan's favor.

"Ofelia is amazed that Nick is always the one to step up and not Art, who is supposed to love her so much". No censoring Ofelia is there Jarifa? She just can't help herself. Nick's lovelorn expression when he looks at Val is undeniable. And still, Val has no clue...

Paula putting the drops in Lupita's purse was a mistake. Why wouldn't she just have gotten rid of the vial?

Slimy Saul rises and now has his very hawt but seemingly equally rotten brother to help him. Whatever they have planned to unmask Paula will not be pretty.

Well, the new and improved and medicated ( brilliant , Jarifa)has returned and Cami is so happy ...Art, not so much .

And smarmy Saul is bent on revenge and has a handsome brother who is going to help go after Paula. I am thinking that Paula might be entering prison just as Saul is released. I wish I had kept an account of all the fancy dresses and gowns this girl has worn in this show..a new outfit everyday . I can't wait to see her in drab prison garb with all those women hooting and hollering at her.

Juan and Jacinto are my favorite characters . You forgive to free yourself. I am glad that Juan was a big enough person to do that , and I think it proves his true love for Mar.

Art has faded into oblivion. He needs to be alone to grow up and figure out who he is before he can have a good relationship with someone else .

Thanks Kat, that was a great recap. Chano just annoys me. He may want Lichita and his family back but he does everything possible to push them away. The guy in the restaurant didn’t even call Lichita by her name, it was so obvious he approached the wrong girl. But Chano gets mad and leaves. This marriage cannot be saved, although I really thought they would get back together. Until he had sex with Fed twice!

I could almost feel sorry for Paulina. In another country with no money and no papers. Who knows how she’ll support herself. He could have just divorced her when they got home. He’s such a nice guy that his reaction surprised me. I guess he decided she was in it for the money.

Wow, I didn’t realize Igor lied to Guzman. I wonder what he’s plotting.

At least our happy family are together again.

Thanks Adriana, a terrific recap of a busy episode. So much seems to be happening. I wonder if Arturo will end up with Priss. I think the only way Nick will admit his feelings to Val is if his brother is with someone else.

I haven’t liked Leo but now he’s lying about being in charge and kind of threatening Hector. I guess there’s a reason Rocio thinks it’s one of the younger brothers that’s hers, but if one is really her son I’d love it to be Leo to see Leo’s world turned upside down.

I had assumed it was Mar’s purse but Lupita’s does make more sense. I would think she’s trying to frame Mar, but Lupita has dirt on her also. One thing though, Paula wiped her fingerprints off the bottle. I would assume everything in a purse has the owner’s fingerprints so that might make the police suspicious.

I don’t like Saul, and he did rape Paula, but I’m glad his brother is going to help him.

I can’t believe the doctor let Camila just leave. That kind of pregnancy can kill you. I wonder if it could also make you sterile. I see an opening for a divorced Mar to be able to get back with Juan. Luis is nice but look what Mar’s had to go through because of his kids.

At first I wondered why Mars purse was in the kitchen. Then, I realized that it must be Lupita's purse. Paula is now in full panic mode since she found out that the police are still investigating . Proactive, reactive Paula likes to scheme and stay ahead of things , so she has decided to frame Lupita. I can't wait to see how this plays out. Leo is still going along with her directions to take over the company , but he looked upset when he got Mar to sign the divorce papers , and he has Been giving Paula some very odd looks lately. He needs an anvil, too. Susan

Liz, the affected fallopian tube will likely be lost by an ectopic pregnancy. Since there are 2 chances of falling pregnant are likely halved. If infection sets in then she could lose both tubes. When I had my first child 40 years ago I went to a backwoods country ob practice in Virginia. My water broke at 6:30 a m on a Monday. Went to my od, confirmed the water break ( it was a soaker so I knew it was a done deal). The doctor sent me home saying wait for labor. It could take a week! Now my Aunt was an L&D nurse so I knew this was horrible advice. The baby should be delivered within 24 hours to prevent infection. I fortunately went into labor that night and delivered my 8 lb 11 oz 37 week pregnancy baby within 36 hours of the water break.

I'm not team JuanMar - I've accepted the fact that it's going to happen, but I'm not rooting for it, but still I found Jacinto's comment about how Mar only ever brought Juan problems annoying. Mar never actually caused Juan any trouble - that was Susana and Ofelia!

I'm all for Rocio being Leo's mom though I still think she's Nic's!
 

PAPAS #65 Part 1

Overhearing Fed’s conversation with Paulina regarding Emi, Lila has fled wandering the streets in tears, accosted by three men but escaping unscathed. Tino and Jason frantically search for her.

The police claim that there is insufficient evidence to arrest Facundo.

Jason finds Lila but she keeps her pain about Paulina to herself. She later rebuffs her mother and tells her it’s too late…Lila tells Tino she doesn’t want to leave him.

Fed meets with Jason; it is she who reveals his wife’s true nature by playing the recording where Paulina voices she hopes her own son’s surgery not go well. Later, Tino shares Paulina’s goodbye letter with him. He has renewed respect for Tino who never introduced the letter as evidence during the trial.

Clara Luz, Rudolf and Pipe start to forge the bonds of family. Igor is shadowing them but does not share all he is seeing with Guzman. We wonder what he is up to.

Lichita calmly questions her daughter to determine why she was uncomfortable with Guzman. She relays that Guzman told her he had no friends and was alone. Then, she tells her mother that he gave her a kiss on the lips. Lichita is angry and understandably upset. Chofis defensively tells her mother she is living in the past and that was all there was to it. She runs off. When Lichita tries to discuss things with Chano, they are interrupted and he ends up leaving without listening. As usual.

Jason sends a delighted, delusional Paulina off to Martinique. She bristles at the less than luxurious accommodations as he tells her they are through. She tries to argue but to no avail. She is left with no money, no credit and no passport…

As we open, Rudolf is with Aidé, Tino and their family. They are watching On View fam on Hoy with…Clara Luz! Everyone seems to be complimentary and enthusiastic. Rudolf then texts Clara Luz who is outside with Pipe, already masked. He asks her to be careful. All of a sudden, Igor quietly slithers up. “Igor” Clara Luz says in surprise, mask in her hand. I can’t make much out of their conversations. I think Clara Luz asks Igor what it will take for him not to tell Guzmán he saw them.

Rudolf assures Tino and Aidé all is well. He nervously asks them to take a seat on some funky looking chairs. When they are alone, Tino and Aidé talk about Uli “mi hijo” she laments, feeling for her son. Tino gets up and walks around the table taking her hand and comforting her. She brings up Facundo and visibly cringes. I believe she says Facundo never really seemed interested in her children; she also mentions the Facundo/Scarlet connection. She calls Facundo a disgrace. Later, Tino pulls out his phone and shows her pictures of a grinning, foolish looking Facundo. Tino asks she be calm as they also discuss Felipe.

PAPAS #65 Part 2

The children are back at school, Circe tells her friends Checo is history as we see that someone is watching her. She tells her friends she feels someone’s presence. We see an earring, is it Checo? Circe is getting (rightfully) paranoid and keeps turning around.

Chofis asks her mother if she talked to Chano about what happened with Guzmán. Your father is your father Lichita seems to say. Chano later confronts Lichita about Chofis. Another argument ensues with her calling him macho. As Lichita sits in front of Guzmán at his office, he gets a text from Chofis and I believe she tells him she had to tell her mother. Lichita asks him about the “secret” phone he gave Chofis. He tries to look innocently wide eyed. Guzmán then goes on the attack acting suitably wounded. She goes back at him but his defense is strong and she starts to feel guilty. He brings up Oliver and then basically dismisses her; as she leaves and is out of sight, he winces at the close call.

Clara Luz and Pipe return home to Rudolf and remove their masks. She tells him she saw Igor but when Rudolf freaks out, she doesn’t seem to be terribly worried.

Chofis and Oliver have a have a cute meet on the street. She gives him a kiss.

Lichita is on the phone with Clara Luz, recalling an angry Guzmán denying the kiss meant anything. I think Clara Luz tells her to believe her daughter and if she says the kiss doesn’t mean anything, well…

Circe’s friends take their leave of her; she calls out for Uli looking distressed as she walks down the corridor. We see someone in a black leather jacket rush up to her but thankfully it is Tino. Then Checo does come up and Tino berates him for scaring Circe.

Oliver and Chofis are at a health care center meeting with a professional.

Back home, Aidé tells Circe she is in a toxic relationship with Checo. Circe is upset and stalks off to see Bertha. Checo texts Tino he has something important to tell him.

Clara Luz has a Coke and an idea that she shares with Rudolf.

Lichita is in Fed’s office, looking very uncomfortable. Guzmán comes in, eyeing them suspiciously. He then leaves as Lichita looks upset. The spider (Fed) sympathetically tells the fly (Lichita) to take a seat. I gather Lichita confides in her. After she leaves, Fed sits back in her seat, with a self-satisfied smirk saying “ahhh Guzmán.”

PAPAS #65 Part 3 of 3

Chofis (now sporting streaks of red hair) and Oliver stroll arm and arm. They declare their love for each other. We see Chano and Chuchito coming down the street and Oliver makes himself scarce.

Checo meets with Tino and tells him that El Calacas is very much alive. We next see them at the police station. Tino is taunted by the official about fraud he committed while Tino argues it was he that was the victim.

The kids are bickering with each other as Emi tries to step in but it takes Aidé’s arrival to calm them down a bit. She manages to get everyone smiling (are they going somewhere?)

Tino and Checo talk with Chano. They tell him everyone has to be watchful, El Calacas is alive.

Where is Clara Luz Guzmán fumes to Igor. Fed flies in and sits in Guzmán’s chair in his absence. I couldn’t follow her and Igor’s conversation.

Lichita holds out a phone to Chofis with text I couldn’t read, Chofis leaves as Yeni comes to visit.

Emi and Aidé arrived to see Rudolf. Aidé is shocked to see Pipe and Clara Luz!

El Calacas and Guzmán meet; Tino and Chano (I think) are mentioned although the conversation eluded me. Kindly fill in if you can.

This was an abrupt and rather unexpected shift from Paulina being exposed and expelled from her children’s lives without any further follow up. Tonight’s abbreviated scenes were quick and a bit choppy; I took quite a few guesses as to what transpired, hopefully I got some of the events right. I apologize I did the best I could. Kindly add and/or correct what I got wrong.

Las hijas, Capitulo 69,
Part 1/3

Leo, Art and Paula are at the table and Paula is once again talking trash about Mar. Art wants the real truth to get out. Paula thinks they should go to trial faster, get it all over with. Of course she does.

Nick and the doctor talk: Luis is getting better, he might pull through. Nick is overjoyed. The doctor will do some more tests. Nick calls Art to tell him dad woke up. He shares the news with Leo and Paula. The brothers both go to the hospital. Paula is annoyed Luis is getting better. How in the world?? Lupita overheard the good news, so Paula pretends to be happy. Hopefully he won’t want to forgive Mar. Imagine the police are even looking for evidence now. Lupita better keep her story straight. Sure, she will, she knows what she saw.

Camila doesn’t have an appetite; Juan tries to help out. Susana offers to prepare her some tea against nausea and they both suggest she call her doctor. Oh no, not that.

Rocio hears on the news that the police are still investigating the case against Mar. She is shocked, she calls Ofelia to tell her that now she gets everything: her daughter tried to kill Luis Portilla. Ofelia denies it, but Rocio thinks she’s lost now. But if she ever needs an ally… Ofelia agrees to see her.

The doctor tells the siblings that Luis is better now, but they don’t know how he will react from now on. They need to wait and keep him calm. There is no point in telling him what truly happened. The police can’t question him for now.

Paula is playing Lady of the Manor with the maids when the police arrive with a search warrant. Paula says the family lawyer needs to be present, but the cops start their search regardless.
Paula calls to tell Leo, who says it’s normal, they are investigating. She asks him to come home, because she is very uncomfortable with what is going on.

Ofelia tells Val she is going to see Amparo and Val wants to go with her. But since Ofelia is lying, she says they need to talk private things. Val thinks this is about her father, so Ofelia says there is no need for her to know all those painful things.

At the hospital Art notices that Camila is still feeling bad. He asks about the baby, he can’t wait to meet him. Camila cries. She changes the subject to talking about Val. Art says they are over, but they still need to work together. Camila doesn’t get how these women came into their lives only to ruin everything.

 

Las hijas, Capitulo 69
Part 2/3

Ofelia and Rocio also talk about the Portillas ruining everything. Ofelia is sure Paula is behind her daughter’s troubles. They are all the worst, Rocio concludes. And now they both have to fight for their children. They need to stick together.
Ofelia reluctantly agrees at first, but then admits that she knows a lot about the Portillas and could talk trash about them.

Nick and Leo are now home, waiting for the police to finish their search. They did find something… a hand bag.

Art runs into Priscila at the hospital. She came to see Camila but she’d like to tell Art that she realizes she behaved badly and losing everything was her own fault. She wishes him to be happy. Art realizes that she’s been through a difficult situation, but she worked through it. She speaks about the meaning of true love: wanting the other to be happy. And that’s what she wants for him.

Nick comes to give Val some good news: the police found evidence that Mar is innocent. The medicine that Luis took was found in Lupita’s bag. She is now in jail, they suppose she replaced the real medicine that Mar was giving him. Val hugs Nick, she is so happy and thankful because he never doubted Mar. She grins at him and he just sighs…
Ofelia arrives as they are hugging again and they give her the good news about Mar. And Lupita is the new suspect. Ofelia is surprised it wasn’t Paula. She is also very thankful, but she only shakes Nick’s hand, there is no fierce hug.
Nick asks to talk to Val in private, which makes Ofelia wonder, but Nick explains it’s work related.
Once alone, Val is once again very grateful and grins from ear to ear. Nick talks about leaving for the US. And Luis is also feeling better, everything will be OK.
But Val has her doubts, she will never forgive Arturo, he never had faith in her. Nick thinks love is more important, but Val isn’t so sure, Nick never doubted her.

Camila tells Priscila that the baby is OK. And she will pay her later. Priscila asks her if she will be able to live a life that she’s not used to. Camila is sure once her dad wakes up Mar will go to jail and she will be able to get back home.

Paula tells Leo she is shocked Lupita would dare go so far. Leo thinks the whole story is very odd. Lupita’s reaction made him doubt. Paula says both maids hated Ofelia and Mar, Lupita must have seen Mar give Luis the medicine and changed it. Leo still wonders, how could she find those drops? Paula thinks maybe she has bad connections, who knows…

Saul is once again talking with his brother about Luis almost dying. They are looking at a magazine picture of the Portillas. When he met her, Paula was capable of everything. Be careful, he tells his brother. They realize if she’s as bad as she sounds, she must have more than one enemy.

 

Las hijas, Capitulo 69
Part 3/3

Camila is sleeping when Juan arrives. He gives her a kiss on the forehead, she wakes up so he says goodbye and talks to the baby. He gives her some cash for the doctor appointment, he will always take care of her and their child. She gets emotional.

Nick sees Leo in their father’s office. What are you doing here? Leo lies saying Luis asked him to be in charge after he fired him and Art. Nick is surprised, they were never informed. Leo says they are no longer working for the company and besides, this was their father’s decision. Nick says he’s not ready for the job, but Leo insists he was always there for their father. Nick doesn’t have the time for this, enjoy it while it lasts he adds, and then leaves.

Art is with Luis, who can’t remember anything. Art says he was very ill, his heart was very weak. But he’s all better now. Luis asks about the family and the office. Art says everything is OK, he needs to rest now. Luis feels that Art is not saying everything. What about Mar, where is she? Art says she’s at home and Luis asks to see her.
Later he asks the doctor what happened to him, and he is told he had heart problems. Luis is in a hurry to get out to fix everything at home. The doctor tells him that’s the problem, he always cares more about the others.
Camila also comes to visit. She was so afraid she was going to lose her father. She is about to say something nasty about Mar but Art stops her. Dad needs to get better.
The doctor is back, saying that Luis needs to rest now. Camila is once again about to say something about their pain, but Art stops her again. Luis feels something is off, he asks his son to bring Mar to him.

Val and Ofelia are outside of jail. Val was with Nick on the phone, Ofelia can’t wait to see if Mar is getting out or not. Val is sure, Nick promised it to her and he always keeps his promises. She might not be aware that she has feelings for him (because, you know, stoopid), but it does sound obvious for this viewer.

Rocio is at the hospital and there is press around. Saul’s brother is also there and he overhears her speak to a reporter about the Portillas. He introduces himself, his name is Mateo, he is a friend of Arturo’s. He realizes Rocio dislikes Luis and she says the only good person in that family is Art. They exchange numbers, they might be able to help one another. Rocio is happy to get to know one of Art’s friends better.

Leo is playing the big boss. He gets upset because Hector is not around. He decides to write a press release, informing everyone that he is the new director in charge.

Mar is finally out of jail and Ofelia and Val are both there to hug her.

 

Las papas

Calacas is supposedly in some prison out of the area according to the police guy. He doesn't believe Tino and Checo. I guess someone is bad in the police department also.

Fede dismisses Luchita's concerns but now she has more ammunition against Guzman. Guzman told Lucia he got Chofis the phone to keep track of her because of her relationship with Oliver. He tells her they nearly have ( or are having, not sure which) a sexual relationship and he is concerned for her. I think he also threatens her and Chano job. Their salaries don't seem to be keeping up with expenses. The babies daycare payment is late Lucia is maxed out on her credit card. Chofis and Checo's tuition payments are also late.

The text to Luchita' was from the school again. No improvement. She asks Chofis are you going to rely on some guy to take care of you in life? I know your hormones are going whacko but I want so much more for you. Looks like she will have to repeat the grade.

The health clinic counseled on birth control. Looks like Chofis is leaning towards an implant that works for years, apparently it's the method of choice amongst her peers. She does tell them condoms also need to be used to protect against disease as Oliver seemed to think. If Chofis is good to go so is he. Later Chofis tells him what she expects of the. Location for their first time, no more flea bag hotels, she wants it to be beautiful. That is when they spied dad skipping with the baby.

Fede and Igor talked about Guzman tanking the company I believe.

The bickering was settled by aide tling them to get up and sing their differences away. If that doesn't work try grunting in frustration. That helped their tension. Aide did talk to Circe about not being able to afford whatever camp or something that her 2 school friends keep talking about going to. She isn't being honest with them about their straightened circumstances.

Good morning, Adriana! Nice to be up early this morning to enjoy your recap with coffee and actually have time to comment! Your wit is the perfect start to the day!

I haven't watched yet so I can't tell, is Prissy really changed? Is she the real deal newly sane back with clarity girl here to shine the light for our messed up and confused characters who have been stuck in the muck? Or is she the fake cured that is about to be real crazy again in about 4 more episodes after she just can't hold on to her shiny her sanity??? LOL

It'll be sad when Cami loses the baby. I wish writers would come up with more creative ways to break up the secondary couple and get the star-crossed lovers back together than a miscarriage - so sad.

Glad Luis is getting better. How many times are they going to almost kill the guy in one series? Do you think he's safe now? Or will he have to almost die again before el fin? Will he have to die for real? And is he really divorced? Because he didn't sign, I don't think you can divorce a guy without his signature or consent while he takes a nap.

If Mar hears that Lupita must have switched the drops out and that her buddy Paula had nothing to do with it and she believes her.... I will throw my shoe at my television!!! I will! I'll throw it! I'll probably miss, because I throw like a girl, but I'll throw it.

Thanks Adriana. Yup Nick and Stoopid Val are end game. I like the new kinder and gentler Priscilla. She needs a better guy than Arturo in her future. She deserves better and honestly he probably drove her to her mental breakdown with his philandering. No young old Priscilla dad sighting.

Did Leo follow through and fire Hector yet. He may after he finds out he is helping Mar.

Here is hoping Mateo digs up lots of dirt on Paula. Here is also hoping Lupita gets a good lawyer and that she realizes sleeping with the devil has consequences. Paula sure thinks on her feet telling Leo that Lupita always resented O and Mar and that must be why she switched the drops. Leo still seems sceptical, but being head of the company is definitely going to his head so I bet he hopes dad's recovery is only just enough to be alive, but that his health remains too fragile for him to go back to work. Lots of things need to be kept from Luis now, when he learns everything he probably will have the big one! Wonder what his latest will says. Leaving his fortune to unwed mothers and orphans sounds about fight to me, his kids deserve to build something of themselves without daddy's money, just like he and Cecilia did together.

Poor Lichita, I didn't realize everything is falling apart; she has no recourse and a partner who is unaware and who cuts her off when she tries to talk with him.

Juegos #25, 26

I'm falling behind in posting. Now I don't even remember what is happening in which episode. The big story is the horror that is Memo. This guy will earn the worst thug category in any competition. He physically threatens Alexandra. When Luci catches him he then turns on her. In the end of episode 25 she gets attacked while walking gallita in a park and the dog is taken. Joachin is on the case. Next episode we discover memo was behind the dognapping. Not content with just stealing the pup, he gruesomely kills it and leaves gallita in a cooler in the front garden of Luci's house! We know it was a gruesome death because blood is on Luci's hands after she reaches into the cooler. Thankfully the writers spared us a visual beyond that.

The other major development is more backstory of Manolo, Fabiola's dad. He was involved in the capital crimes case years ago. He is an investigative reporter I believe. He was threatened, and physically hurt probably by being run over by a car but not sure. He had files and possibly a zip drive that is now missing. He is sure Fabiola took them. He knows she and Tobi were working together on something so now he's sure it is this. He feels Tobi was purposely hit to shut him up. He goes to Roberto with his suspicions. Since Roberto has his own ideas about who killed Tobi which don't fit this narrative, and he can't tell Manolo about them as it is an ongoing case, Manolo decides to team up with Natalia to solve the case.

Speaking of Natalia, she seems to have a blog or something. She has also been threatened. She is staying away from her family to protect them. She wants Manolo to work with her and they agree.

Joachin is getting lots of bed action between Bertha and Victoria, but he still lusts after Luci. He stands Victoria up to work on a case, the dognapping.

Enrique apologizes to Adrian for beating him and tells him he loves him. Pato moves back home, before the dog murder. His partner, Paul called and it seems he has a jealous streak so that relationship will likely fail. German seems interested, but not sure if he's more into Memo or Pato.

Enrique visits dad. Dad is looking for money to play the caring dad to the public. Someone leaked that he is alive and unwell to the press and that dad and Enrique have a strained relationship.

That's the main events in the past 2 episodes.

I missed quite a bit of this and you filled in my gaps beautifully.

I can't wait for the bad bros to unearth all the dirt on Paula. Lupita being the poisoner makes absolutely no sense. She had nothing to gain and everything to lose.

I have to admit I teared up a bit when Mar was released and reunited with Ofelia and Val. These flawed individuals are far from perfect, but they are each other's family and do love each other.

I wonder what Luis is going to say when he learns he and Mar are divorced. I am confident it won't be pretty.

It seems Tino and Checo must have thought he was dead as when they were talking one of them said he must have 9 lives. Did we know El Calacas and Guzman were working together or did someone just mention the possibility. It seems like it came up but I’m not sure.

Lichita and Chano are not exactly on the ball as parents. And I still think Chofis is way too young for sex. And she heard that a classmate was pregnant. I was hoping it was her friend that seems to be pushing her to have sex.

BSC Pris continues her " I'm fine no longer BSC tour . If they redeem this chick and give her a HEA with clueless , adolescent Art....well, lazy writing.

Saved the best for last...Paula is sweating , and Saul is salivating and eager to bring her down .

However, I am appalled that he killed that sweet little pup. Adriana mentioned that Claudia Martin (Luci) was dating the actor playing Memo. Ironic that she was dating the villain Vermin in "Receta." Weird.

Joachim is such a smarmy weasel. It's too bad that Vicky got involved with this guy. Just wait until she discovers that he is Berthe's boytoy. Ugh

Thanks Adriana, an excellent recap as this show gets more intense. Not sure Paula was really thinking when she put the bottle in the maid’s purse. She should have put it in Mar’s room. If you’re going to frame someone you shouldn’t change the victim halfway through. I wonder if Mar will believe it was the maid and not Paula.

Leo is really digging a hole for himself with the lies he’s telling. Funny that both Hector and Nick doubted him and told him he wasn’t ready for the job. I can’t believe he told Nick his dad gave him this job after he fired Nick and Arturo. I’m sure he fired Leo too.

Trust Camila to put her hate for Mar ahead of her love and concern for her dad. And thank goodness Arturo was smart enough to stop her. I really think he’ll end up with Priscila. I don’t see Val and Nick together unless Arturo moves on.

So Rocio and Ofelia are going to team up, and also Rocio and Saul’s brother. I wonder if it will end up the three of them. Meanwhile the maid will rot in jail, but it’s hard to feel sorry for her. She was happy to take Paula’s money to frame Ofelia.

El Calacas is frightening and persistent. I am worried for Tino and for Checo...The policeman's comment was perplexing. I don't think Tino knew El Calacas was alive. Fortunately, he does now and hopefull will watch his back. If my poor memory serves, I think El Calacas met with Fed but if he met with Guzman, I don't remember that.

Thank you for explaining Tino is happy for his mother and Augusto getting together.

I am not sure how old Chofis is but she is old enough to know she is not ready for sex...

I agree Chano is fairly useless. In addition to being a cheater, he is clueless about what is transpiring with his children, leaving Lichita to shoulder the burden by herself.

As the episodes end and start on disjointed notes, I wonder where we will begin tonight?? We'll find out soon.

I wonder how Saul's brother plans to use Rocio in his plans to bring down Paula, and I also wonder what proof Sail has about Paula's mysterious and evidently unsavory past . susan

Babchita, At this point , I can't stop watching . It is getting too interesting . I usually read Kate recaps before I get a chance to watch the episode , so I can FF past the disgusting parts ...like all of the scenes with Memo. Susan

Well, I’m in a contrary mood because of Galletita’s demise in Juegos. I am still annoyed at Oliver. I may have misunderstood, but he seemed ready to do the deed since Chofis had birth control even though he didn’t have condoms. The clinic encouraged both, to prevent pregnancy and disease. His comment was that he didn’t need a condom since it was his first time, too. He might be right, but it sounded like all the responsibility dodging men who come up with reasons they don’t need condoms, leaving the women to believe them at their own risk.

But, I may have misunderstood.

I liked Oliver, but his idea of a romantic nest and pushing for unsafe sex has made me reassess my opinion. This lack of responsibility adds to my disappointment.

I love Pipe and enjoy watching his parents embrace their lovely surprise!

Guzman, Fed, and the guy from Tulum are all menacing the happy families. Anvils should be coming. I guess Paulina’s came early!!!

Early in this show, we saw Fed meeting with the little weasel who worked for Braids when the weasel was in jail . I wondered how she knew him . Did we ever see Guzman with Braids ? Susan

Leo is clearly not up to running the company. He has neither the experience, nor the intelligence to do so and... he also lacks charisma. Here is a great example where the oldest brother is less than either of his younger ones.

Saul was one of Paula's regulars when she was peddling her flesh. I'm sure he knew at least a few of the others.

Camila is setting herself up for a near-death experience. She's a nasty, spoiled brat but hasn't done enough damage to warrant a death sentence.

Lupita doesn't deserve to take the rap for Paula, so somebody in forensics has to discover that her fingerprints are not on the lethal bottle.

As for the "divorce" I'm sure that a forensic peek at the documents on it and the hospital medical records will show that Luis was unconscious at the time of the signing, thereby invalidating the divorce because his signature was forged.

Well, I was so tired last night I only watched half this episode so I guess I can add more details of the last half.

Roberto acts all jealous about Chofis and Luci calling Joachin and not him, that he gets chewed out by Chofis. Your daughter doesn't want you around Luci and we are respecting her and your wishes, enough of your damn jealousy. Luci is equally mad as he isn't comforting her in her loss, but acting all macho. Chofis also gets on Natalia's case, I guess there is some tension between those 2. Natalia is also very upset, red nose from crying etc. She wonders who Luci might have as an enemy when who should walk in with a bouquet of flowers, Memo. They are a peace offering for him being so mean to her he claims with tears. She forgives him

Enrique and dad discuss the leak. It's not dad, but he still wants to be paid off, he wants to see his grandsons.

Mariana gets some action with her old lover, Leonardo?

Susy is getting big fast so I guess time is passing.

Im getting the feeling Leonardo and Ines also had a thing for each other. Can it be each of Francisco's daughters had a Cuckoo in the nests of their husbands?

Alex continues to refuse to get back with Adrian, even with Ines begging her to remain with him until he finishes treatment. Adrian meets up with her and grabs her arm, which aggravates the bruises Memo inflicted. Adrian can't believe his cousin would do that. She says stay away from me.

Daniel helps Alex dad in his bistro since he is at loose ends. Alex returns home to help at the bistro, or whatever it is called, to see everything running smoothly. Dad tells her he hired her friend Daniel as a waiter. She won't be able to avoid him now.

The necoprisy report comes back, galleta was killed by a sociopath. Unfortunately Gaby comes into his office at work as he makes this statement. She calls Luci, she asks if she can come give her a hug because of Gallita dying. So I guess a little good has come from something so bad.

Well Adrian stood up for his girl, goes to Memo's house and knocks him down with a punch to the face. Darn, it could have happened to a nicer guy ..

Karina's price to go back to work for Enrique is telling me you love me. He does, several times then kisses her. They are outside somewhere, as Luci walks by she spies Enrique and realizes he is kissing someone. She thinks it's Ines. But then she sees the black hair and Karina turns her head and she sees who it is. Her rose colored glasses are getting clearer, hopefully.
