PAPAS #68 Part 1

Previously, Lichita and Chano reunite; Chofis is (rightly) concerned about more of the same e.g. bickering and disagreements.

Chofis learns of a classmate’s death from an abortion, absorbing this sad and tragic loss.

Guzmán continues to ride the train to crazy town.

Threatening to expose Igor to Guzmán for seeing Clara Luz, Fed procures the much sought after USB. To our surprise, the fraud charges against Tino are dismissed.

Rosalinda shows a shocked Rudolf that his name is the only one on the custody filing…

Fed is (supposedly) pregnant, telling Tino he is the father while viewerville highly suspects it is the newly reconciled with his family Chano.

Dámaso plants the seed in Aidé’s brain that Guzmán may be the father of her twins. She, (and we) are repulsed and in denial. Meanwhile, Aidé seemed to have a moment indicating a possible pregnancy.

As we open, we see yet another version of Aidé on that fateful night of the school dance years ago. We see Aidé fall on her face, mocked by her classmates (Clara Luz, Lichita, etc.). She squints, vision somewhat blurred as she grabs Tino, and leads him up the staircase. She takes him into a classroom and starts kissing him. In new “footage” we now see that Guzmán is creeping up the stairs behind them. Aidé passes out and Tino ensures she is sitting with her head on a desk as she passes out. Guzman creepily ascends the few remaining stairs with that calculating menacing look he now wears as an adult. He reaches for the door handle but we don’t see if he opens it. Back in the present, tears stream down Aidé’s face as Dámaso continues to try and persuade her Guzmán is the baby’s father. He says something about her heart and touches her chin with his hand.

Tino is still incredulous as he and Fed continue their conversation. Fed insists that she is pregnant and the baby is his. He gulps, staring. He dismisses her declarations of love. I think she is holding the possibility of being in jail with his child over his head.

Rudolf and Rosalinda argue about Clara Luz not being part of the custody filing. She mentions Clara Luz going to jail and he worries about trying to raise Pipe alone. I think he is also concerned about being viewed as Clara Luz’ accomplice.

PAPAS #68 Part 2

Lichita is mopping the floor when Chano comes in, seemingly quite amorous. He softens her up a bit and has her smiling. He moves forward talking about esta noche.

Chofis is talking to Yeni about their classmate’s sad passing. Later, she picks up a pillow and puts it in front of her. Oliver texts her, she texts she is nervous. He draws a heart with her name on it on his arm as she smiles.

Tino and Rudolf talk about Clara Luz and the likelihood of her going to jail. Next it’s Tino’s turn as he admits that Fed is pregnant and I am the father of her baby. Rudolf gasps, shaking his head.

Chofis is in Checo’s room when a handful of condoms fall out of his pocket. She tells him about her classmate who died having an abortion. They talk about the clinic.

Aidé arrives at Guzmán’s office. He asks why she is there; It’s personal she retorts. He motions her to sit down as he shuts his computer. She brings up the past and says tell me are my children of your blood? Tell me the truth. To be honest, he looks surprised and (for once) not guilty. In the next scene, he gets up and in another flashback, recalls climbing the stairs years ago, putting his hand on the doorknob, hesitating, then starts to turn the knob. At that moment, a kid comes bounding up the stairs and shepherds him away. In the present, he spits this out through his teeth, obviously upset. In a later scene, he admits he loves her, tears streaming down his face. Aidé upbraids Guzmán for what happened to Pipe. I think he says he is not the father of her children. She says something to him that makes him tell her to get out of his office his face contorted in a combination of pain and rage (please fill in here if you can).

Jorge is introduced to Clara Luz and Felipe gets him ready for whatever he is doing in the next room. Rudolf then tells Clara Luz she will likely be arrested and jailed.

Dámaso is conducting a class while talking on the phone, he mentions Igor and later admonishes someone mentioning Tino but I’m lost on who he is speaking with and exactly what he said.

Clara Luz is freaking out with Rudolf. He holds her face in his hands and tries to calm her. Don Jorge come out and Rudolf escorts him out.

Aidé and Tino have coffee. She tells him she is afraid Guzmán is the twin’s biological father. As they talk, Fed texts him and Aidé is understandably upset. He eventually comes out with it – Fed is pregnant and he is the father. Aidé’s face blanches with shock and disbelief.

Bertha and Augusto have a bite. I think she asks about his wife (and her accident) but he doesn’t seem to seem to want to talk about it.

PAPAS #68 Part 3 of 3

Chofis gets a quick mani refresh from Yeni. They go to the clinic and Chofis asks about the birth control implant.

Aidé has more tears cascading down her cheek; she mentions Fed and Paullina in the same breath. I think she infers she can’t accept Tino being the father of her prima’s baby (?)

In the last scene of the evening, the students are out in the woods. Uli and Gina are talking when all of a sudden, Uli hallucinates that a red balloon is the mask. He starts freaking out, reliving the attack over in his head. He stumbles backwards in sheer panic. Gina tries to talk with him but he screams “no, no”. He runs over and hugs Circe. “Facundo” he says as she stares, concern clearly reflected in her eyes.

Although he seldom utters a true word, I do believe what Guzmán told Aidé; so that leaves the door open for …

Las hijas #72 part 1

O and Paula continue to square off in the hallway with Luis and Mar as silent witnesses. Rosita calls them to eat

Arturo is drinking his troubles away in the middle of the day. Nick finds him. He tells him he should quit drinking. Arturo is in a bad place mentally. Nick says Val is taking it hard. Don't talk to me about Val. Nick is worried about him. Arturo gets maudlin and says you are and always have been the best brother.

O is bringing up the painting at the dinner table. .Luis wants to drop the subject. O pushes it saying the truth will come out, but I won't say anymore about it ( for now).

Back to Nick and Arturo. A says Val told me something I'll never be able to forget. What we had together is over and dead. Nick can't believe it. Tell me, like you always do and together we can solve this problem.

Luis and Mar are going upstairs to rest leaving o and Paula alone. She tries to leave but O stops her, you and I have to talk. Paula has nothing to say. O tells her you have made an enemy of me. If you had messed with me, it is one thing. But nobody messes with my daughters a gets to live. We only agreed to come back to this house to make your life hell.

Mateo meets Rocio in a park. She wanted to meet him in a public place. He tells her he wants to know about the Portillo's. She says but you know Arturo. Yes, but only him. I need justice for my brother. They have destroyed his life. Ricio bonds with him, me too.

O talks with Luis in his office. She only agreed to move back to the mansion to protect Mar. And about that painting. I liked the united family in it, your wife painted a lovely picture and I didn't do anything to it. She stalks off. Luis stares pensively after her .

Mateo asks Rocio if she knows Paula. No, my beef is with Luis, but all the Portillo's are cut from the same cloth. ( Will that include whoever her son is).

Val is staring out a window, at the office or apartment, not sure which. It is a common area. Nick sees her and approaches with their song playing. He changes his mind and continues on his way.

Luis goes to the masters chambers. Mar is glad he's finally coming to rest. She prepares to leave him alone, but first he wants t talk to her. Your mother told me she is only here to care for you. Yes, she was really worried about me. Luis asks why did you sign the divorce. Because Leo prepared them and I wanted to prove I didn't care about your money. So then it was Leonardo. You didn't know, Mar asks. I'm sorry I had to break the news. What else, he asks. Shed rather not worry him anymore. He says I would rather know the truth.

Paula is at Leo's office. Sorry for bothering you here but I had to get out of the house. He asks is everything ok. No, you wouldn't believe who's back. Mar. And with Ofelia. Your dad brought them back . My love, O has threatened me. They hate me. You have to help me. ( Now would be the time to move out of the house, or hopefully Luis will kick them out).




 

Las hijas # 72 part 2

Nick is on his balcony. He needs to stop thinking of Val. He calls Michelle in Boston to ask for a favor.

Cami comes home looking for dad. She sees Mar and blows up.at her as usual. Mar is on the death stairs. What are you doing here? Your dad asked me to return. No way, not after what you did to him. I can't believe it, get out. O arrives and stands next to Mar on the stairs. You have to deal with both of us.

Paula wants Leo to convince dad that those Garcia's are bad people he tells her the house and business are dad's and it is his decision. Paula says you are his son and have rights too. I'm not quite sure what he says next. I think he feels he has to go out on his own now ( or expects to be thrown out of the company like before). Paula is no way, we've come too far to give up now .

Mar and Cami continue to argue on the stairs with Cami insisting she leaves her house. Mar points out it's her father's house, your place is with your husband that you love so much. O and Mar tell her go talk to your father. Meanwhile he has heard the arguing and asks what in the hell is going on now. Cami clutches her stomach and rolls down a half dozen stairs. They all rush to see if she is ok. She is well enough to tell Mar no me toques. ( Is there telenovela bingo for catch phrases and actions, i.e tumbles down stairs. I got a 2fer in one scene). Luis tells Cami to calm down, sends Mar to get the chauffeur and lifts Cami from the floor to carry her out. I'd say he is recovered. ( and good for him as an actor in his 60s being able to lift 100 pounds. I'm lucky I can get myself up off the ground, but I have a bad back, hip and knee so I'm a bit hamstrung. I can still lift a 50 pound bale of hay or sack of grain though). He does break a sweat and catch his breath. Hope the guards help him get her down those outside steps!

Priscilla is eating lunch with Arturo in the bar he was at with nick. Another day of not working for the 2 Portillo boys. But wait, Priscilla has found an investor, would he like her to set up a meeting with them? Luis calls Arturo.

Marvis talking with O. She hopes Cami is ok. It wasn't my fault she fell, you were right there. I bet she says it's my fault. O is like your right, it wasn't your fault. You did nothing. Mar massages her belly. Poor Cami, if anything happens to her or her baby .. o agrees. We are only here to unmask Paula...

Rocio calls O. My guy's name is Mateo. O says remember I told you not to believe in anyone. Rocio says even if his goal is to destroy Paula.

Back at the hospital vigil. Priscilla shows up with Arturo. Nick tells him Cami had a spell and fell down the stairs. The Dr tells them she needs immediate surgery, curretage (lagradado). So most the Portillo's are there but no one called Juan?

O is scoping out Arturo's room. She takes his toothbrush. This should do the trick...

Cami has lost a lot of blood, she needs 2 units. (So doesn't Mexico have blood banks.? This giving blood without checking for aids, hepatitis etc bothers me). Luis is crying about Cami losing the baby Nick comforts him, you need to be strong for her

Arturo is going to the blood bank. He tells Nick that it's important that Juan is notified. Finally someone remembered the husband and baby's father.

Leonardo and Paula return to the house. I guess he didn't warrant a call. Paula and O fonat it. No tells Leo she isn't against him, just the viper he married. If you don't want to be around us then you can go elsewhere. Paula stalks off. Leo tells o to stay away from his wife.
 

Las hijas #72 part 3

Arturo is at the blood bank. It's important that you haven't had alcohol in the past 12 hours, but maybe it is don't drink alcohol for 12 hours after. My verb tenses need work. At any rate he is donating. He asks the clerk can we determine if my sister and I have the same father? Sure, genetic testing. DNA. We can do it here. Arturo wants it just between them though. Hell pay him well.

Luis visits Cami. Cami cries inlist my baby. Nits all Mar's fault. Luis tells her it was an accident, I saw the whole thing. Cami continues her bashing if Mar, you care more about her than me, wah wah. Luis reminds her you only married Juan to get back at me. You have to take responsibility for your own actions. What do you want Cami. A place to live, money, return to the mansion. She says I want nothing from you

Juan arrives with his parents. She says I have a new family that wants me. You go be with Mar. Juan and Susana hug Cami as she cries. Luis departs.

Nick and Arturo both donated. Arturo tells Nick about the investor. Nick asks him to let him know when the meeting happens. He's off to work. Arturo is going to stay with Cami for a while.he pats the lab tech....

Luis and Mar talk. Mar feels like it is her fault. It wouldn't have happened if she hadn't returned. Luis tells it's my kids fault, not yours. Now he's blaming himself because he is a bad dad. He hasn't been a good guide in their education. I only wanted to make them realize the error of their ways. Mar has faith they will see the light eventually and his kids will come back to him. Luis doesn't believe. Cecilia was the glue. I've lost the ones I love most.

O is at Val's. She tells her Mar moved back to the mansion. Luis begged her to.its the only way we can prove that Paula is behind everything. Val gets snide with o. This apartment isn't good enough for you, you have to return to the millionaire mansion. O says don't say those things. Val, taking a page from Arturo's playbook, tells her her ambition knows no bounds.

Luis in in Cecilia's studio. Leo comes in having heard about Cami. He then proceeds to blame Mar. Luis hits the roof again. He really needs to work on his anger management. Luis blames him for making Mar sign the divorce, making himself director of the company, etc. he then asks whose idea was it, yours or Paula's? Leo shifts uncomfortably and avoids eye contact.

Val continues to yell at O. O says she's only defending Mar. Val tells her she is the worst mother in the world. O says you don't know what I went through for you girls. Val says because you never told us

Luis is telling Leo he changed after he married Paula. Before he just wanted to work beside him, but after his ambition ruled his actions. Leo cries she is the only one who believes in me, you don't. Luis asks, when will you open your eyes son,?. I don't want you in the company anymore and if you stay in this house you are paying rent. We are done. As he leaves he says it hurts me to see you played like a puppet.

Rocio calls O. O says I have something that will work but I will have to get it to you later. I have to fix some things. O prays to the Virgin. Protect my girls. Val loved her father, I can't destroy her illusions.

Juan catches up with Mar as she is walking up the mansion steps. He blames her for what happened to Cami and the only thing he feels for her now is hate.
 

Papas

Checo tells Chofis that abortion is legal in Mexico now. Her friend did not have to go to an illegal abortionist. She should be informed so she can help other girls if the situation arises again.

Don Jorge seems to be some sort of seer. He mentions Rudolph and Clara's strong connection to each other. It was weird putting Jorge in front of a camera and leaving the room.

Dameso is talking to some business partner. Is it Guzman? Fede? Who knows. He calls whoever he is talking to stupid and mentions a sister. Now he is talking about fraud and wanting money. It is a she, so I'm guessing Fede. This is her way of getting Tino.

You didn't mention the scene of Aide and Guzman in his office. He confesses he always loved her. He will be a father to the twins. She says he never said a word in prep school. She can't believe in him. She puts his drinking glass in her purse. In a flashback Guzman was chased away from the door by someone, probably Dameso. Why he has such hate for Tino when aide went in to marry Facundo blows my mind. Besides telling aide that Fede is pregnant, he is revoking his charges against her.

Kat, your wry wit was evident throughout this fantastic recap. Your insight and sharp perception were on fire; very well done.

Acidity becomes more pervasive with each episode as some continue to stew in their own bitter juices. Venom has become the order of the day.

Juan "blames her (Mar) for what happened to Cami and the only thing he feels for her now is hate". Mar, who incurs Paula and Leo's wrath at every turn, now has to hear the love of her life voicing such heartless sentiments. Surely we must be at rock bottom?

"Val, taking a page from Arturo's playbook, tells her her ambition knows no bounds" was perfect. Still, I'm glad Ofelia is staunchly standing by Mar. Someone has to.

Will Camila tell the true truth that her pregnancy was ectopic or will she keep that to herself?

I appreciate your mentioning Don Jorge being a "seer". His appearance and role here makes no sense to me. :)

Actually, I did mention Guzman telling Aide of his feelings "In a later scene, he admits he loves her, tears streaming down his face". I had no idea he said "he would be a father to the twins". I did not see her taking the glass I must have been typing so thank you!

I knew Tino told Aide Fed was pregnant but didn't realize he was revoking the charges against her. Poor Aide...

So Camila blames Mar for her miscarriage of a baby that was never going to make it anyway. That sound about right.
I don't think she will tell the truth, her hatred of Mar knows no bounds. But shouldn't her doctor tell Juan the truth?

Luis asking Leo to pay rent is the least he can ask of him after all the chaos he created. I'm glad that he sees that Paula is behind everything, I somehow feel that Leo is redeemable, but Paula needs to rot in jail.

So Arturo offered to give blood to his sister and secretly asked the lab tech to do a DNA test to see if thei are a match for sibling ties? I guess this is a way to tell which of the brothers has Portilla blood. But didn't Art have a very rare blood type and only Mar could be the donor? How can he donate to his sister then? Can she receive from any type of blood type?
I'm confused...

Nick and Val continue their "won't they/ won't they dance".... we're done in less than two weeks, is Val ever going to fall for this guy or was he always just a huge red herring?

Yay! Luis finally has recognized Leo for who he is being controlled by his wifey.

At this late date, I still only like Luis and Mar and Amparo, of course.

I think I will remember this novela as too much screaming and not enough action by highly unlikeable characters.

Adriana, one thing I didn't mention, Arturo asked is there a way to tell if my sister and I have the same mother. It makes his maudlin rambling to Nick about loving his brother (did I go into detail on that scene?) make less sense of course.
Half or full, you are still brothers in blood. I guess he thinks his dad had an affair, which would be harder to stomach.

The only thing I can figure is maybe the hospital requires family to donate blood the the bank when someone receives blood. I don't think it went directly into Cami. I assume she was given a transfusion at the time of her bleed out.

Too funny: the “search for a blood donor” at the hospital seems to go on in every novela irregardless of the blood type. A Google search of the phenomenon gave an AI generated answer labelling it as a mere plot device in novelas to provide drama and social awareness. Hmmm . . . is my only response.

I looked a bit up online and I believe that a miscarriage involving an ectopic pregnancy might only be determined by doing tests. If this is accurate, then someone would need to ask that be done. It certainly won't be Camila. I can't see this not coming out somehow though.

Uff....We knew it was going to happen ....spoiled , immature Cami lived in denial, ignored the doctor's warning , told nobody about the ectopic pregnancy , and paid the price . And , of course, its Mar's fault . geez. How are the writers going to deal with this person who does nothing but project her own problems and flaws onto everyone around her. She drives me crazy . She's not going to end up with Juan because I am convinced that the writers are going to give Juan, Mar, and bebe their HEA , so are they going to redeem cranky , angry Family somehow??? How?

I still don't understand how Saul's brother plans to use Rocio to bring down Paula. How?

Okay, we're now back to Val screaming at O. I don't like screamers . O has been awful , but Val should know by now that screaming at her has absolutely no effect on O.

These kids who supposedly love their father never give him a minute to recover from his latest health scare .What a family .

Leo is a big, pathetic lump of a man. I feel sorry for this actor ( whom I like).

I am done with drunk skunk Art. He deserves a life with still crazy after all these years Prissy. He can lose himself in a bottle while she throws stuff on the floor. I am sure that young daddy is going to be the investor. Susan

Thanks Diana, that was a great recap. Thanks, Kat for added details. I was completely lost when Demario was having a phone conversation=ersation while teaching the class. Showing my age, at first I didn’t realize he was on the phone! I kept wondering what kind of yoga teacher would do this while conducting a class. And surely they all overheard his conversation. He did mention sister. It that’s all I got. Guzman did tell Aide that if he were the father of the twins he would have told her then. Which makes sense since he was so in love with her.

I found it really strange that Augusto didn’t want to talk about his wife to Bertha. He wants to concentrate on the future. He’s so nice, I hope there’s nothing sinister in his past.

Aide is done with Tino because if he and Fed share a baby she would always be in their life. So true, look at Facundo. Although it looks like the writers are getting rid of him! I wonder when Tino will discover it’s not his baby.

Thanks Kat, that was an excellent recap. I felt sorry for Luis, he gets no peace in his own home. I was so mad at Ofelia when she brought up the painting almost as soon as she got there. She doesn’t know when to keep her mouth shut. At least Luis seems to know Paula is manipulating Leo. When will he discover she tried to kill him and is behind all the chaos in the house.

I was very relieved that Luis saw Camila fall and knows it wasn’t Mar’s fault. He needs to let everyone else know. I’m ready for dad and brothers to realize what a spoiled brat Camila is. She and Priscila are two of a kind. And Arturo fits right in with them. It will be fine with me if Arturo belongs to Rocio.

So Leo is fired and has to pay rent. He and Paula may both have to get jobs. Couldn’t happen to a nicer couple!

I will comment more when I can comment from home and not from my phone and after I watch but I wanted to answer Adriana’s question about the blood type. If I remember correctly Art was O negative. O negative is a rare blood type that can only receive blood from another O negative donor, however a O negative person is actually a universal donor. I negative blood donors are highly sought out by blood banks for that reason. I forget all the medical terminology but O negative blood doesn’t have any of the antibodies that some types have that make them incompatible with other types so you can give it to literally any patient in any emergency.

I'm so glad I wasn't the only one lost during Dámaso's phone convo. Yes, certainly the group must have heard every word. Very confusing.

Hmmm, perhaps Augusto's reluctance to talk about his late wife is a bit of a red flag...

Faithful Diana, thank you so much. I always look forward to reading your excellent recaps and your wise insights on what is happening . You and I have been on this long and winding road for years together as people come and go along the way. The more I watch , the more to see these stories as tales of the human condition . It is always reassuring that usually the bad are punished and the good eventually get their rewards after suffering at the hands of the evil ...a lesson in resilience .

Gee, that was a very odd yoga class with Dam namasting to the students one minute and then quickly turning his back on them and yelling into his cellphone .Bizarre.

Where in the world is Facundo??? I know !!!I know !! He's playing a good guy on "Juegos.". I am sure that he didn't attack Uli. It had to be Guzmsn.
 

Juegos # 29

Ines sees and hears all that Karina discusses with Enrique, including him telling her they will be together after the election.
Fermin is an evil dad. He keeps accusing Enrique of killing his mother. It appears she committed suicide. I didn't quite understand the dialogue in this scene. Something was said about young Enrique wandering the barrio and his mother not being able to find him. I got the impression he was probably playing at friends houses. His mother committed suicide. Cancer was mentioned after Fermin left and Pato, Adrian and Enrique discussed grandpa. They certainly understand why Dad hasn't wanted this evil man in their lives.
Alex and Daniel are working on their project at the bistro, which is in a lull of no customers. Alex' mom gives them a hard time about it. Alex explains to Daniel she is more upset about my breakup. Alex tries to get a hold of Clara to make sure she is still on their team but she doesn't answer.
The reason she isn't answering is she is with Memo's dad. They appear to be in a nice hotel room. He tells her she needs to improve her grades, no phone calls when you are with me. He has her dress in some Catwoman type outfit with a red cape as he wears an animal mask of dome species, panther, wolf? You've got me. At any rate he shoves her on the bed and we know what comes next.
Adrian sees the therapist. Ines brings him. The therapist realizes he is lying on some of his responses ( are you only using alcohol, forgot the second one). He later tells Luci about the session and what he recommends for treatment. I guess shrinks can discuss patients together? I would have thought HIPPA laws would be in affect.
Elena and Susy are in Toby's room. She is selling the apartment, closing is tomorrow. Seems she is letting the new buyers have everything in it, with perhaps a few things being moved. Susy leaves and later she is telling Daniel the same thing. She has to get away from the memories, it's too hard on her soul to be surrounded by all the memories.
At the closing the next day Omar and Daniel watch as she signs the paperwork. Omar gets a call from the police, sentencing for the guy they "killed" Toby is tomorrow
Karina and Luci talk at Karina's house after Luci finds out Karina is still on the campaign team. Karina tells her she has loved him for years and her madrona is what is standing in the way of them being together.
A burial for Gallita is held in the back yard at the boarding house. Luci asked Gaby if she wanted to come, which she did Gaby brought a painted birdhouse sized house for the ashes to be buried in and a geranium was planted over the grave.
Bertha meets with Joachin. She gives him a manila envelope and a flash drive, "proof" to be planted in the records office of Luci's dad's guilt in the Capitol case.
Fabiola's dad, manalo is searching her apartment for the missing hard drive with no success.
Pato quits the campaign crew. He is ready to go back to the states with Paul. Memo is trying to ingratiate himself with Paul. I think he asked his mom if Pato and Paul can stay at their house as Ines is opposed to their relationship, but I'm not sure
Mariana comforts a sad Ines. Ines blames it on Fermin, though we know it's actually about Enrique. Ines gives her some advice she takes to heart. The next morning she is at a breakfast? with a bunch of women ( the night before Enrique had called her telling her he was working late on the campaign). Back to the luncheon/breakfast. A lady who perhaps is a journalist, says something about her being the perfect wife and mother. Ines says it's not only important to raise your children and stand by your man, you also have to empower yourself as a woman. The family role does not define the person. they all applaud her so all is good.
Alex is in the classroom. She gets a call from Clara's mom thanking her for letting Clara spend the night and could you give her a message from me. Alex says nothing to let on that Clara was not with her.

Susan I had to laugh about Facundo being alive and well on Juegos. Pato is threatening to return to the states with his fiance so perhaps we will see him at the end of this series for an episode or 2.

Susan, thank you for your always kind and generous support! It's been a long and wonderful road amiga and hopefully, there are many more tales we will share together. I think your "resiliance" is the perfect word to describe the perseverence and determination of those good characters who are consistently repressed and persecuted. As I often say we need to have hope. Indeed it is sometimes all we have.

"Gee, that was a very odd yoga class with Dam namasting to the students one minute and then quickly turning his back on them and yelling into his cellphone .Bizarre'. Totally!! When there is a scene like this and I have absolutely no idea what transpired, I get very rattled and lose my place so to speak, having difficulty transitioning into the next scene :).

I'm sure Facundo will turn up at some point. I cannot wait for Fed and Guzman to meet justice whom I think will not be merciful.

My comment was too long so I had to eliminate some stuff and I finally remembered the cliffhanger. Enrique calls Ines from campaign headquarters. He will be late tonight. She mentions Karina. Yes she is back on the job. Ines makes a snide comment about on the job or rolling around in bed with you, so Enrique now knows that she knows.

I’m ready for this to end. I think Rocio seems off her rocker, not a good sign.

Luis is trying to manage his kids. What a thankless job, especially right out of the hospital.

I like Luis so much but want Mar with Juan, except he’s a jerk right now.

This has to wind up soon. I wonder where it’s going. Hoping for Leo to figure it out. His father certainly has. Paula needs to pay big time for her misdeeds!

Ofelia is a puzzle. I like her 2/3 of the time. She makes me laugh. But, then she goes too far!!!

Thanks again. I'm home now and was able to watch. Your recap was the most enjoyable part of the episode.

So now that Val and Nic have a song will they end up together? Or are they a red herring indeed? I have been team Val/Nic all along but the fact that it's taken the whole show and now it might only happen AFTER she's been with Art the whole show kind of makes it less appealing. It helps a little that Val and Art never slept together but only a little.... but I guess if Val ends up with Nic and Mar did end up with Juan then family dinners could be forever awkward.

You have dad and Cami, across the table is Dad's ex-wife, Mar with Cami's ex-husband, Juan, sitting next to Nic and Val (Art's ex gf) across from Art and his un-ex-gf Pris who once tried to kill Val?? Then Of course you have to make room for Ofelia and Rocio and whomever her son is - or isn't, and Leo and hopefully NOT Paula!!!

Leo wants to come to his senses, but he just can't quite get there. Paula's influence is so strong over him.

Juan lashing out at Mar was harsh but not surprising. How many times do you hear about men and women lashing out at their spouse when losing a child - Juan didn't lash out at his spouse but he lashed out at the woman that he does love instead of the woman that he's just married to.

Thanks Kat, your recap was a tell-all. I didn’t understand a lot in this episode. So thankful for the recap. I know Paul said he had a problem with jealousy. I wonder if Memo will somehow use that to break up Paul and Pato.

That whole, Enrique is responsible for his mother’s death was crazy. He was probably 6 years old. And why would Luciana go to Karina’s house. Does she really think she can talk them into breaking up. And would that save her Godparents’ marriage?

I think it’s so wrong of Elena to sell her apartment. They say you shouldn’t make big decisions for a year after a death. Some day that apartment might bring her comfort. And her grandchild can spend time with her there, making new memories. Plus it’s Daniel’s home too!

Liz, I'm glad I wasn't the only one confused. We need a span Prof, novelera, Adriana, rgvchic, UA or dondi to watch this and clear up some of our questions. So far I haven't convinced my daughter in-law or Mexican friend from choir to watch these or I would ask them for help. Neither have true cable and I'm not sure if Univision is a free app or if you need to have a cable provider. I'm lucky, my daughter has added us to their YouTube TV. But only 3 can be on at a time though it can have up to 6 per an account. We get kicked off during prime time (9-11) sometimes. My husband is watching on our other tv. I consider it my salary for the 50 hour week babysitting job so I want my yttv, lol.

I've also heard to wait a year before making life changing decisions. I still wonder where she and Daniel plan to live now, I'm guessing Chofis, (they have been using Sophia I noticed lately.). Natalia and Pato sure have become bosom buddies in a short period of time.

When papas and hijas wind up I hope to write more detailed recaps for this show.

Papas #69 part 1

Uli tells Circe he needs to talk to their parents about what happened. He doesn't go into detail about why he said it was Facundo. Circe tells him we are twins, we share everything, I want to help you.

Aide reminds Tino that Fede was so cruel to Emi, how can you just let her get away with it. Tino keeps saying I was drugged by Dameso, I remember nothing ( aide should be able to relate to that viewpoint). She still does not want to be with him if he is tied by a baby to Fede. She reminds him you need a DNA test. He says Fede suggested it. I'm thinking it needs to be done by an independent lab and not anyone Fede can buy off.

Sure enough, her on congratulates her on her pregnancy. She says I need your help falsifying paternity and gestation age...what does she have on this guy, or is he just greedy.

Guzman has called a board meeting. They need a strategy to outshine fanview and make their company more relevant. The 2 board members stare at each other, while Lichita tries to come up with an idea. When who should pop up after we wondered where he was, but Facundo. He complains he hasn't been paid. Guzman rightly tells him you need to work then. (It's hard to pay dividends when your company is tanking.) Guzman reminds him if you want money, sell me your shares. We need an influencer to drum up more interest in maximax. Igor looks on silently. Lichita suggests Facundo could be the face of the company. Igor thinks it's a great idea as he reaches for Facundo's hand. Facundo steps away uncomfortably.

Rudolph tells Clara, you know I love you, if never let you end up in jail. Pipe comes in and tells mama not to cry. Clara is so happy he has called her mamita and Rudolph is his papito. Rosalita sends a message to Rudolph which disturbs their happy crying.

Uli, in tears, is talking with Tino and Aïde. He recalls this event was the third attack. He says the place was familiar, next to their house and he is sure it was Facundo. Tino suggests going back to therapy to clarify things totally. Aide is ready to go back to the police.

Chofis is all in a Twitter because she and Oliver are going to have their first time and it will be perfect. Yeni wants details, but Chofis doesn't want to share them.

A board member thinks Lichita has a good idea. Guzman says to tell everyone in the company they are working late tonight, including checo. (Methinks he is setting up a way to get to Chofis...)

Well Guzman does send Chofis a text, I've arranged things so you and your novio can have your assignation tonight . She's some happy, she owes him one. Later she will advise him of the plan

Oliver has come through, a much nicer hotel room with flowers and rose petals. Chofis says this more like it. They kiss. Did you bring the condoms. He forgot. Chofis tries to be firm but he pulls a, everyone says it isn't the same with a condom, I want it to be the best it can be for us. Sadly her doubts are overruled and she nods yes.

At Tino's house Scarlet wonders where the parental units and uli are. She wants to all eat together. Augusto is there also. (You know how we are having doubts about Augusto, wouldn't it be horrible if 'the butler did it to Uli, just a flight of fancy that came to me). Circe pulls Uli aside still wanting details. He agrees, but later. She reiterates you are not alone, I'm here for you .

At the brainstorming late night meeting Facundo gives his ideas. Guzman pretty much tells him, shit up. Checo inserts some ideas which Facundo poo poos. But Guzman says, he is much younger than you and his generation is who we want to appeal to.

Rosalina is meeting with Clara at the cafe for a change. Looks like she wants Clara to turn herself in to the police. Rida hasn't found anything incriminating about Guzman. Clara says not yet but ..Rosa claims to have another appointment and rushes off.


 

Papas # 69 part 2

Chofis is back home texting Yeni about the experience. Yeni is more excited than Chofis, I'm guessing the experience was less than earth shattering (is it tmi if I ask was any woman's 1st time that great?) she admits the room was nice. Family arrives home so that ends the texting.

Viewfam promo as is done with clips from the tarot card seer, Dameso, the family sing along, etc. Aide likes it. Rudolph has a few things to tweak before uploading. Tino and aide discuss the charges against Facundo. Rudolph rushes back, look who the new image of maximax is, Facundo!

Facundo shows up at Scarlet's school to see her. She won't hug him. You left and didn't tell me or call me. Facundo says I went to Madrid to make a lot of content. She thinks he is mad at her for taking the mask without asking. He says no biggie. Just remember not to take things that don't belong to you. Hug for dad.

Igor funds Guzman and says viewfam has its new promo up. Guzman goes to his office to watch it alone.

Aide receives a call from the school. Facing has Scarlett..aide feels like a fool, she didn't take away his authorization. She calls Facundo, it rings twice, he's not answering me! If the agents arrest Facundo while Scarlett is with him it will be the worst thing to happen to her. They are off to find him.

Facundo is doing his redes social thing as usual talking about his time is Spain as hearts and thumbs up fly on his Livestream. He then says I'm the new Facebook maximax. A voice says we have a warrant for your arrest. He says wait I'm talking to my fans. They persist, the fans comments start flying, the agent gets in front of the camera and says he is being arrested for suspicion of abuse of a minor. Scarlet is scared.

Oh no, Guzman is watching the video from viewfam. The kids singing has a pipe sighting running behind them. How in the world did everyone miss that! Pipe is at Silvana's house.

Clara thinks she is going to jail. Rudolph tries to console her
Facundo is being escorted down the street with Scarlet clinging to his arm. Facundo is declaring his innocence. Aide and Tino find them. Facundo says take me to jail, I will prove my innocence. Aide takes Scarlett, Tino goes with the police.

Chano seems to be having a phone conversation with checo. No idea what it has to do with anything going on in the show at this time.

Guzman is mad. Lichita knocks and brings him some of the information he wanted. Guzman states out the window. Igor knocks with the scoop on Facundo. That makes Guzman turn and state at him.




 

Papas #69 part 3

Facundo is making a pretty good case for himself to the police, with aide and Tino present. I guess he is a red hearing after all. The red mask was a prop they use in their changing locations, or it belonged to the Spaniard he switched with. Not quite sure.

Oh great, Facundo scandal will hurt maximax Guzman says. Fede has entered the scene. He thinks it will also adversely affect maxiclik. Sure enough, Igor is tracking the traffic on his phone and it's not good. Guzman says something about viewfam. Stops and leaves the office.

Facundo's image has been ruined by this false accusation. He probably wants to hold aide to account for it. Facundo tells aide she is a bad mother, pot kettle...you abandoned your daughter. He wants to confront his accuser but aide won't allow it. The police tells Facundo he can go but he needs a lawyer to prepare his defense.

Pipe, Rudolph and Clara are playing with toys. Clara gets a message from Rosa. She needs to go meet with her.

Tino tells Fede he is dropping the charges against her. He wants a DNA test. She says fine. He then brings up the twins 14 birthday party. I think she says that is the date she and Facundo started their affair, but she doesn't want to remember that toxic relationship.

Facundo is at maxiclik looking for Guzman or Fede. Aide has ruined me. Igor tells him, sorry, they aren't here.

Aide is with the family. She puts her tablet for Scarlett , emi and Lila to watch the promo. She goes to talk to the twins.Uli is ready to talk to Circe about what happened. They leave. The kids tell her they love their band spot. Emi says we even had a Pipe sighting. Aide watches it and is worried.

Clara is walking for her meeting. Guzman confronts her. She says leave me alone or I'll call the police. He calls her bluff. He has a proposition. You cause Aide's and Tino's platform to fail and you can have Pipe.

Fede wonders why Tino wants to know about Facundo. Are you jealous? Tino bluntly tells her no, I don't love or desire you. Ouch. Why are you so hurtful to me. Because I love aide. Fede goes in her, nobody can live you more than me tirade. He gets up and walks away. She doubles over in pain. Tino comes back to her False miscarriage or real? She faints.

Kat, you did a masterful job on this, your detailing was splendid.

Aide's being crushed about Fed is understandable and I share her outrage and bewilderment that the fiend who tortured Emi is now pregnant with Tino's child. Fed's pregnancy pain presented itself at just the precise moment; too well timed to be real.

Judging by her reaction after the tryst, Chofis didn't seem to feel the earth move. Was Guzman's "contribution" simply to keep Lichita at work? While the room was certainly better than the first, it was hardly the Beverly Hills which made me think Oliver did indeed rent it. Guzman must have some nefarious intention in all this. I initially though he was going to plant a video recorder in the room but it did seem like Oliver rented it.

Facundo's new gig was mercifully short. Now that his arrest was captured on video surely the demise of his career can't be far behind. It was a shame though that Scarlet had to be there to see everything. Now we need eyes to be on Guzman for being Uli's attacker.

I had to smile a little at "they need a strategy to outshine fanview". I thought the viewfam video was cute but creatively, it seemed more like a school project than a professional one.

What will Clara Luz do? Hopefully she will enlist Rudolf, Tino and Aide to come up with a plan to turn the tables on Guzman.

Las hijas, Capitulo 73
Part 1/3

Get ready, Patio, this is the episode where everthing starts happening at high speed. All at once. For everybody. My head is spinning.

Juan speaks very badly to Mar, how can she be back at the mansion, oh, how much she's changed, stay away from his family. Mar is hurt, says he doesn't know what he's talking about, she didn't push Camila… no use, he won't listen.
By the rate things are going, the only happy couple at the end of this will be Susana and Jacinto, but who wants to see that?

In more joyful news, Leo tells Paula that dad threw him out of the company and if they want to live in the mansion they have to pay… wait for it… rent!! What horror! Paula is terrified by the prospect, Luis can't do that, this is Leo's home! He thinks they should just move out but Paula disagrees, they can't allow for those women to remain in their house, they can't win. Leo thinks it's up to dad now to decide who lives in the mansion… Oh, boy, I don't think Paula will take this lightly.

Val and Nick talk about a new investor that Art found. She's sad because Art is ignoring her, Nick explains he's with Camila at the hospital. She lost the baby while fighting with Mar. Val is shocked, Mar should have never gotten back to that house. They both agree things are a mess, and Nick apologizes for the way he behaved with her the first time they met. For whatever reason he thinks it's important to mention what we all thought was water under the bridge, but she's won his trust. She's beautiful inside and out and he believes in her… so much….
OMG... they are actually getting closer and it looks like they are about to kiss. And make no mistake, this time Val doesn't seem oblivious.
But oh, Pedro arrives with some documents about whatever! Dude, we're on episode 73 and we're in kind of a rush, so could you just go away please?
He realizes he interrupted something, but it's too late. They start talking business, Val offers her support. Nick reassures her again, she's such a professional. She seems rattled by his words, says she has to leave. Nick touches her hand, saying he'll call her later, she almost forgets her purse, gets all flustered. We've been waiting for this, but it still feels like it's out of the blue...
When Val is gone Pedro apologizes for interrupting them but Nick says it was the perfect timing. He was about to confess his feelings. Yeah, right...

The doctor tells Camila that she could have avoided all this pain if she had taken that médicine to stop the pregnancy. She will be fine, she just needs to rest. Camila says she wasn't ready to say goodbye to her baby yet. Susana arrives, so the doctor leaves after saying Cam can go home the next day. Susana promises to be by her side, Cam is afraid Juan will stop loving her.

Paula goes to alk to Luis and tells him she practically had to sacrifice herself ever since she married Leo. Everyone treated her so badly, but she's come here to beg him not to fire Leo. Luis tells Paula that before he met her Leo loved being the big brother and protecting his siblings. But then he turned selfish, started asking to have more than his brothers. If she truly loves him, she should let him go. He even gave up his dream to be a father for her. Paula says she did it all for him, but he spent all his time working. Luis doesn't care.

Juan promises Camila they will get through this together. She is afraid there is nothing that keeps them together anymore. How will she ever forget that she lost their baby because of Mar?


 

Las Hijas, Capitulo 73
Part 2/3

Val comes to see Mar at the mansion. Why did she come back? Mar is upset because Camila and Juan are blaming her. All of this after Juan told her that he still loved her.
Val feels sorry for her sister, she'd like to be closer to Mar, but she has to stay away from this place because of Art. Yeah, things are going badly between them.
Priscila arrives just then and Val says she's sure Art would never give her the time of day again. Priscila says that's not true, after their last fight they were together and it was the best night of their life.
When Priscila leaves, Val says this helps her open her eyes once and for all. Art is not for her. Unfortunately she still has to see him at work, but thank God for Nick, his presence makes things easier.
Mar has the reaction that all the Patio has been having since the beginning, raises her eyebrows and points out Val can't seem to shut up about Nick. Val says this is because he's helped her so much, so Mar wonders if she is only feeling grateful, or is it more? Becuase in her opinion Nick is not doing everything just out of the goodness of his heart, he feels something for her. And Val must have the feels, too, but they both realize it's complicated. Val disagrees, but then she can't leave fast enough.

Art is in his room when Luis comes to talk. He sees him hold Cecilia's picture and they bond over how much they miss her. Luis says his parents used to be very strict with him but Cecilia always managed to settle things between them with her sweet way of being. He was mistaken thinking that he could teach his kids a lesson. How can he get their family back together? Art doens't know, but Luis promises that he will try. Art is not sure, especially after what he found out. Did he and mom ever have problems? No? Maybe he's just imagining things.
Priscila interrupts, she wants to talk to Art, he needs to help Camila get out of the life she's living. She did it all on a whim, they need to help her.

Nick is at the airport, waiting for Mich, his ex from Boston. He has so many things to tell her. She got here just in time to save him from himself. Oh, I though she was here as a last minute plot point to make Val jealous.

Ofelia meets Mateo at Rocio's house. They talk about evil Paula and Mateo is about to tell them some ionformation that will destroy her but also affect the Portillas. Ofelia doesn't care, she has acces to the mansion and she will do whatever it takes. Mateo explains what Paula did to frame Saul (which we know is not true, because he did rape her) and how he used to be her "client" back in the day. She left everything behind when she got married to Leo.
Rocio concludes the Portillas are all miserable who keep nasty secrets. Ofelia thinks they need to plan things properly if they want Paula to go down once and for all.

It's nigt time and Val comes by Nick's place. He hasn't called and she wanted to talk to him. She goes inside, he sighes… But she doesn't get to say anything, because Michelle is there, too. She call Nick "mi amor", talks about the wine she brought with her and when Val asks, she introduces herself as Nick's novia from Boston. Val is impactada, especially when Mich smooches him a few times.
When alone with him, Val asks Nick why did she never mention her, he says they only got back together recently. Mich is back with some glasses for the wine and it must taste great, because Val chugs hers. And then, when Mich and Nick kiss again, she drops her glass to the floor.
She offers to clean up, then says she needs to go. She can't leave fast enough, says she doesn't remember what she wanted to tell Nick. It's great that Mich is here, he won't feel alone anymore.
When Val leaves, Mich says she's sure Val feels something for him, does he really want to continue what they're doing? Nick says yes, they have to. So they're pretending to be together.
At the very least Nick is getting some action, even if it's mostly for show.

 

Las hijas, Capitulo 73
Part 3/3

Ofelia is back at the casita, talking to it about all her past pain. All the awful nights and all the tears. But they have to reconcile.

The next day Juan wants to pay for the hospital bill, but Luis has already paid. He wants to reimburse him, Luis says there is no need. Juan asks Luis to keep Mar away from Camila, and Luis défends Mar, he was there and saw the whole thing, it was an accident. He needs to stop playing Camila's game and help his daughter get through this. Juan seems to be paying attention.

Val and Nick are back at the same restaurant from the other day, talking about work, but Val is pouting because Nick hadn't mentioned his novia. She's even living with him. She's happy he's content, he deserves all the happiness in the world, but why wouldn't he say something before? He just gazes at her.
Don't you hate it how these crazy kids can't get on the same page once and for all? Move it along people, we don't have an entire novela for you to figure things out.
Once again they end up to close for "just friends". Nick says Val is strong but soft, sweet and funny, intelligent and this and that… Val is impressed, does he really see her like this? And again they are about to kiss but Mich interrupts them and she is the one to kiss Nick instead. Val gets the sads but she tries to hide it, while Nick prétends to be overjoyed with Mich's presence as he tells her about their project.

Susana confronts Ofelia on the street. Mar better stay away from her family. She caused Camila's miscarriage. They get physical, Ofelia almost strangles Susana. Mar is innocent, Camila is not a decent person, the only decent thing in Juan's life was Mar. Susana curses Mar's unborn baby and Mar. Ofelia slaps her and says to herself that she's cursing against her own blood.

Art wants Camila to come back to the mansion, but Camila can't live with Mar. She has a new family now, with people who truly love her. She's done with their father. Art is upset with dad, also, but he won't share more details.

Rocio tells Ofelia she needs money for the DNA test, could Mar or Val get her some? Ofelia is not sure, she'll try to help.

Mar wants to get Luis out of his office, she offers to help, but what can she do? He says he's made so many mistakes with his kids. Mar asks if he ever had problems with Cecilia, but he says never, they were always very close. It was beautiful. Mar thinks they had problems because… there is a woman out there saying she is the mother of one of his kdis. This woman keeps searching Ofelia.
Luis says thing didn't happen how she believes, she doesn't have to doubt him. Just tell him if that woman ever comes near them again.

The lab tech tells Arturo he compared the DNA of his sister and his brother to his own. Art reads the results, he looks confused. Then he calls someone.

Juan runs into Camila's doctor, he's worried for his wife. The doctor says it's normal seeing what happened, but she will be able to have another child, her issue doesn't have to happen again. Issue, what is the doctor talking about?The doc says she had an ectopic pregnancy, she didn't lose the baby because of the fall, that only caused her to bleed, but the baby would have never been born. And Camila knew it.

Arturo comes to see Rocio and tells her he is her son! Ay, Dios mios!

Good morning, Adriana! Fabolous recap as always!!! Full steam ahead, indeed!!!

The doctor spills the beans!!! That's not the novela norm, but good to see. No drawn-out Mar is evil until the last episode drama, we get the truth out there in the very next chapter! Poor Cami!!! NOT!

So, Art got the DNA test results, but can we trust Art to accurately read a DNA test result? Asking for a friend.... just saying, I have my doubts even as he's declaring himself to be Rocio's baby.

Like you Darcy, I was shocked that it was the doctor who revealed the truth to Juan. And not in the 11th hour! I hope Luis finds out the truth as well.

I thought another pivotal development was the ice thawing between Luis and Juan. Luis being there to witness Camila's fall cemented the fact he has his daughter's number. Now hopefully Juan will as well.

"Susana curses Mar's unborn baby and Mar. Ofelia slaps her and says to herself that she's cursing against her own blood". I almost felt sorry for vicious Susana but just could not get there.

Ofelia is out for blood. Nothing could make me sorry for Paula and her ending is going to be very ugly.

Val has come out of her haze but she may be too late.

Art gets a clue but the puzzle is far from pieced together.

Ok, I really thought Nick was the Cuckoo in the nest, except he is such a nice guy like Luis. Well if it couldn't be Leo then Arturo deserves to not be a real Portillo.

O going back to the Casita with her suitcases made no sense to me. I could understand revisiting it to deal with the trauma, but to move back in?

I I like the actress playing Michelle. I should have stuck with that golpe de suerte show when it was on. She was good in Sed De Venganza. I almost want Nick to stay with her. I don't feel like Val deserves an HEA.

Good point about the Dr spilling the beans in the next episode.

I am so tired of Ofelia having to lay her hands on other women. Cannot some other woman physically take her down for a change? Ridiculous.

Darcy: "So, Art got the DNA test results, but can we trust Art to accurately read a DNA test result?" He isn't too swift so I would say . . . probably not.

Diana, YES!: "Val has come out of her haze but she may be too late." If only, even Nick doesn't deserve her. What a wet rag she has proven to be!

Kat, No, Ofelia returning to and reminiscing back at her casita made no sense at all. Something is not quite right in that noggin.

Did Ofelia ever hear about getting an honest job and not spending all of her time trying to connive others into supporting her via her daughters? Entitled . . . maybe?

Thanks Kat, your recap was excellent. I was disappointed that Chofis went through with it even without a condom. I lost any fondness for Oliver. Twice he shows up with no condom. He just didn’t want to use one. I think he’s mainly interested in sex. I also wonder about Yeni. Why did she feel the need to convince Chofis to have sex. I don’t trust her.

The doctor hasn’t agreed to help Fed yet. At least I don’t think he has. Surely there’s one honest doctor in Mexico. Or maybe Chano will realize it’s his baby and tell.

I hope Clara Luz doesn’t help Guzman. And I wonder where Rudolf found that lawyer. She wants Clara Luz in jail so she can have Rudolf. She can’t keep her hands off him. Is he too dense to notice!

Great recap, Kat! I was already upset with Oliver over the condom attitude the other day. He had plenty of time to get one. Too bad Chofis didn’t get some from her brother. Oliver’s comments were the usual ones about it not feeling the same, etc! What a jerk. I like the actor but not Oliver! Chofis seems to be much more self-assured now, so she should move on from Oliver with ease.

Now we have to worry about Guzman, who is in a dangerous mood.

Didn’t someone awhile back mention possible trafficking in conjunction with Dam? This is very far out, but Yeni might be part of that grooming.

Female lawyers are questionable here: Fede and Rosalinda are untrustworthy. Both are creepy in their hands-on approach.

This must be winding up. Lots of loose ends!

Thanks Adriana, I loved your recap! High speed is right, it was one “wow” after another. I’m glad Juan knows the truth about Cecilia’s pregnancy. I find it hard to believe that Luis never had problems with Cecilia. I don’t remember her ever being nice! She’s another Priscila. I wonder if Arturo will get with her if he hears what she’s been saying.

I have been thinking Rocio is a little bit nuts and really thought she created the fact that one of the boys was her baby. I still think I’m right but maybe I just want to believe it. I hope he read it wrong. My main reasoning is she would know when she gave birth and it would be easy to find out when the boys’ birthdays are. I also thought it was crazy she wanted Ofelia to have one of her daughters pay for it.

So Leo was once a caring big brother. That’s hard to believe. I guess Paula really did change him. It was almost funny when she was telling him it’s his house. I can’t wait for her dirty deeds to catch up to her. Attempted murder is a biggie. And framing two others. Plus the art she took and destroyed. I’m sure there’s probably more.

With nine episodes left we're getting close to Karmageddon. I haven't let Ofelia off the hook but Paula deserves the worst fate of anyone in this tale.

It's totally possible that Arturo is reading the lab results incorrectly. If he is Rocio's son I'm sure Prissy will be horrified! And I agree that Michelle is there to provoke jealousy in Valeria.

Leo needs to get out and learn his own worth unless he can be arrested and imprisoned for forgery and/or fraud.

Isn't Saul also guilty of blackmail?

I'm still not sure Art is Rocio's baby because either:
1. he can't read a three way DNA test - LoL, Darcy, but vert accurate.
2. he's lying and telling Rocoo he is her son just to spare his brother; he did say the other day that it's his turn to protect Nick, right? maybe he wants to protect him from the heartache of not being a Portilla?

Even if this has been a long time coming I still find Val's interest in Nick too sudden. she did show signs of liking him before Mich showed up, so it can't just be her jealousy.
Is she only now starting to allow herself to feel things because Art has dissapointed her one to many times?

 

Juegos #30 part 1

So Enrique and Ines conversation was actually in his home office. When she confronts him about rolling around with Karina he thinks Luci spilled the beans. She corrects him, I saw and heard you on the security camera. Looks like she will stand by her man for the first lady job title, but he needs to end it with Karina. To say she is distraught and feels stupid for loving him so blindly is an understatement. She brings up their passionate lovemaking from a few days ago, she accuses him of pretending she was Karina. Later, Luci stops by to see Ines about things to do for Adrian that his psychologist recommended. Ines tears into her for not being loyal to her and telling her about the affair. She is upset and sad, Enrique has always come first in her affection. Shouldn't she have more solidarity with her, the age old woman against man and we need to support each other plot.
Daniel gets a plate of food dumped on his favorite shirt that used to be Toby's when a distracted Alex bumps into him at the cafe. Alex takes him inside to clean it. He confesses he has always been interested in her. She says he was always so shy and quiet in class but she noticed him. They kiss. Later they kiss outside and Clara takes a photo of them and sends it to Adrian.
Meanwhile Adrian is ignoring Luci's calls, and is hitting Memo up for more pills. He's angry that he gets only a few and they aren't the good stuff. but when Clara sent him the text he took a bag from his pocket and downed them.
Gabi is now on board with Roberto and Luci's romance they have a fun day in the woods having a picnic and getting lost in a maze.
Enrique goes to Karina and gives her a lingering kiss. She thinks everything is on track with them but he breaks it to her that Ines found out about them. Nope, we are through, though I love you. I'm not sure if he suggests she waits until after the election for them to be together or what. At any rate she is pissed, tells him to leave, she knows his skeletons. Don't touch me get out and throws a vase of flowers at him as he backs towards the door.
Clara and the professor are not being very discreet. In the college parking lot they are kissing. Adrian is looking for Clara. He sees them kissing and getting in his car together. I don't think he was wise enough to get a photo. Later the Prof is at the college hang out at the bar when Clara and Adrian show up. Clara sits next to Prof and Adrian leans in and says I know about you 2. I need you to break up Alex and Daniel somehow or I'll let the world know.

Memo calls Paul. Paul tells him Pato is being stubborn and doesn't want to move into Memo's parents place. Memo says since Pato is such a party pooper that he and Paul should do things together.
Joachin and Roberto discuss Fabiola at the hostel ( before the picnic expedition). Locations where sighting may have occurred are mentioned. Natalia overhears them talking and takes note.

Susy goes to.the Dr. Things are looking pretty good but she has to watch her blood pressure. Omar asks about the baby at the store. He gets a call from German. Hands her the ice cream and is told that he and Elena can see the guy who supposedly hit Toby after the sentencing.

I'm still not sure where Elena is now living, but she visits with Sophi ( Chofis, they use both names regularly). Natalia is carrying a backpack. She is following a lead, will call if she will be late. Sophi doesn't seem to like her much and is a bit short with her.

Gabi is brought home by Roberto and sent upstairs immediately to avoid the broken vase. Roberto sits beside Karina asking what's up. She may have said it's over with Enrique. She lays her head on his shoulder hoping for a hug. He coldly tells her that ship has sailed. She is the mother of his child but that's it. After he leaves gabi sure with Mom and tells her about her stupendous day in the country with Dad and Luci. Luci is the best girlfriend dad could have. Karina is not amused.

 

Juegos #30 part 2

Enrique tells German they need to keep an eye on Karina. She no longer works for the campaign and she knows where the bodies are buried.

Natalia is snooping around in some building. She finds some rags on the floor. This may be the garage where Omar killed the supposed driver that killed Toby, or else it is a location where they hope to find Fabiola. In an earlier scene Roberto at the office opened a page with a photo of a woman, it may have been security footage of Fabiola, but I couldn't tell. Manalo is with her which makes me believe that are searching for Fabiola. Manalo comes over to see what Natalia found. A gun appears around the corner. It's Roberto on his own fact finding mission.

In the final scene Luci is putting something in her car when Karina shows up. She knows that Luci knows about her and Enrique. She tells her she is surprised she only just found out, Roberto has known for weeks.

Adriana, I like your hypothesis that Arturo is protecting Nick. But I also agree he is too dumb. Originally I thought he was just having the tech compare his and Cami's DNA. Since Nick also donated I guess it was just as easy to do a 3 way test, though that much more unethical.

Yeah, Adriana, your hypothesis that Art is protecting Nic makes a lot of sense! I still like the idea that he just can't read the results right, lol, but your idea fits better. As much as I want to believe it's none of the above, I keep thinking about how in the flashback to Rocio and Cecila fighting back in the day and the one thing Cece didn't yell was 'you're crazy!' She was saying 'he'll never know the truth!' Which means there IS a truth to know, whatever that truth may be. I don't think it is the story Rocio is telling, but some version of it...


 

PAPAS #70 Part 1

Aidé is not only reeling from Tino’s confession that Fed is pregnant, but that he is dropping the charges against her for abuse of a minor. With a mixture of outrage and heartbreak, Aidé reminds Tino of Fed’s cruelty to Emi; how will he allow her to get away with it…She cannot be with him as his child with Fed will forever bind them to her.

Uli, in tears, talks with Tino and Aidé about his attack. He will continue his therapy.

It seems Oliver didn’t make the earth move for Chofis. Guzmán has some role in navigating some of the arrangements but exactly what his plan is remains hidden.

Facundo’s celebrates his new gig as the “face” of Maximax by being arrested on suspicion of abuse of a minor as he live streams. And the worst part is that Scarlet was with him!! LOSER. Facundo does seem to provide some evidence he is not Uli’s attacker and is released pending trial. He is hot to confront Aidé who he feels ruined him.

Rosalinda wants Clara Luz to turn herself in as viewerville wonders why Rosa is so obsessed with Rudolf…

Aidé and the children aren’t alone in noticing Pipe making a dash through the house, unintentionally appearing on the fanview video! Guzmán also notices and threatens Clara Luz. If she ensures fanview fails, she can have Pipe. Otherwise, he calls the police…

Although Tino tells Fed he is dropping the charges against her, he makes his non devotion to her crystal clear, despite her protestations of love for him. All of a sudden, Fed cries out in pain, holding her stomach and bowing her head. She seems to have fainted…

We open with Fed hyperventilating as she appears to pass out with Tino frantically calling her name.

Clara Luz tells Guzmán he is not father material. In a later scene, he sneeringly mentions jail but Clara Luz isn’t cowed, correcting him on her son’s name “Pipe”. We see Rudolf calling her; Guzmán grabs the phone and holding it up to her, calls Rudolf her accomplice.

A worried Rudolf gets a call from Rosalinda. She says Clare Luz had an appointment with her but she canceled it.

PAPAS #70 Part 2

Circe tells Uli he isn’t alone, grasping his hand and then hugging him. He mentions Facundo…Circe claims things are her fault. Aidé later joins them and reassures Circe she is not at fault; only the perpetrator is. She switches seats and hugs her daughter.

Aidé assures Scarlet Facundo is not in jail and the sweet child hugs her. Emi come in, hands on his ears and tells her how wonderful she is. Scarlet gently kisses Emi’s cheek and hugs him.

When Clara Luz arrives home, Rudolf confronts her as to why she didn’t keep her appointment with Rosalina. She comes up with a myriad of flimsy excuses. However, she then takes his hands perhaps ready to tell him when Pipe calls out. She texts Igor that Guzmán knows Pipe is with her.

Tino asks the doctor for reassurance that Fed is all right. The doctor does mention complications including stress. Fed is wide-eyed and bushy tailed now (quick recovery, wasn’t it?) and Tino advises her to stay calm.

At Lichita and Chano’s, Checo and Chofis have breakfast and start to go about their day. Chofis leaves calling Chano “macho” and Lichita rightly calls him out for not reprimanding her. Later, Chano puts on a singing show for Lichita in their bedroom as she comes in and smiles. He has on a cowboy hat and makes growling noises as Lichita falls into his arms.

Clara Luz and Rudolf talk as Pipe is sleeping. She wants them to be a family as she cries in frustration but Rudolf brings her down to earth, it won’t be that easy.

Hmmm, Secret Agent Circe takes a quick furtive look around and quietly leaves the house. Aidé calls out for her but she’s already gone. Circe is texting Gina; she gives herself a pep talk and flags down a bus. Checo comes up behind her startling her as he apologizes. She is upset because of Uli, Facundo and seeks the comfort of Checo’s arms, crying softly on his shoulders. He talks softly saying te amo and hugs her tightly. She talks about a secret and he says she can trust him.

Aidé is trying to reach Circe without success. Bertha then picks up her phone and calls Tino. Tino wisely calls Checo who tells him he is with Circe. He tells an unhappy Fed he is leaving as she makes ugly faces, making fun of Circe. Tino goes home and gives them the news Circe is with Checo. Aidé is naturally unhappy but he reassures her Checo is a good guy. The other children come in and Aidé and Tino leave to talk.

Circe picks up Tino’s phone to find Fed mewling on the other end. Everyone can hear her as she tells her Tino is “occupied” with her mother! Unfortunately, Fed turns the tables and gets the horrible upper hand telling them she is pregnant with Tino’s child. Shock is etched on everyone’s face, especially Bertha’s. Poor Emi looks devastated.

Tino and Aidé are talking when Scarlet comes in, tears streaming down her face. She tells them about Fed’s announcement.

PAPAS #70 Part 3 of 3

Tino and the family are sitting down as he tries to explain…Emi starts to weaken and Tino runs to his side. He stares at his father. All of the children are grim as Tino’s speech culminates in the fact the baby is guiltless. Emi cries as Tino asks for his forgiveness but Emi asks Bertha to take him to his room. Circe gets up and Lila leaves. Circe takes Scarlet away as Scarlet voices her heartbreak. Tino is upset and sits with Aidé the only person left at the table. He won’t forgive himself. Aidé makes a bit of a speech (Lila is mentioned) but I can’t translate it. Later she cries about her prima having Tino’s child. She can’t be with him and asks he respects her decision. She cries and leaves the room as Tino pounds on the counter in utter frustration. Bertha asks if he is all right. No he tells her, he is losing his family. She walks over and mother and son comfort each other.

Facundo shows up at Fed’s, crying about his misfortune. Fed tells him something about Guzmán I didn’t get.

Tino is angry and chastises Fed for telling the children she is pregnant. She turns on the waterworks but he doesn’t back down, walking out on her, leaving her defeated for once.

Facundo tells Guzmán he isn’t guilty of assaulting Emi.

Aidé, Tino, Rudolf and Clara Luz are back at work. Clara Luz, with Guzmán’s threats reverberating in her head, is having a bad day, everyone is supportive. Guzmán texts her asking if she is having a good time with her friends.

Tino tries to talk with Aidé as Dámaso texts her. Right on cue, Fed texts Tino calling him “papi” and sending kisses. Blech.

Lichita and Igor meet with Guzmán to discuss the campaign. Fully aware of what Igor has done, Guzmán stares at Igor and loses it, calling him mentirosa and fires him! He grabs his arm, yanks him out of his chair and physically pulls him out of the office, screaming at him to get out. In the hall, Igor yells to everyone that he and Guzmán are brothers. He leaves as Guzmán seethes. At that moment, Guzmán is handed a report.

Aidé is with Dámaso, handing her a DNA test result as we struggle to process this. It turns out that Guzmán is NOT the father of her children. She (and we) are overcome with relief. In the next breath, she asks the obvious, then who is??

An alarmed Chofis walks across the room to Yeni, whispering something in her friend’s ear that we do not hear.

Igor is alone at a café, fingering a USB.

An audience (Guzmán, the kids) has assembled for the viewfam presentation. Tino, Aidé, Rudolf and Clara Luz are center stage. Felipe’s picture flashes and applause ensues. Just as Tino introduces Rudolf, Guzmán enters, accompanied by two policemen. He starts by telling everyone about Pipe, his sobrino…

As there are so many choppy scenes, I thought/hoped it might be helpful to combine scenes and improve the flow a bit. I did the best I could. Kindly fill in and add what I could not understand; corrections are also most welcome and appreciated.

Aide tells Tino she is going to get an advance from Felipe so she can get her own place. Lila's name and Emi were mentioned because he will raise his kids and she is taking hers.

Facundo and Fede started their affair the twins 14th birthday party and I think Fede has video proof. Facundo wants her to use it to defend him. She says that will ruin my reputation. I stead she advises him to sell his shares to Guzman. When he refuses to do that she suggests he put them in Scarlet name. Gee, hasn't she done this trick before and that is how Guzman is got the shares in the first place. Facundo later refuses to sell the shares to Guzman. I think he offered a really low price for them, but not sure.

Chofis has gone to the bathroom before whispering to Yeni. Is it too quick for an STD to appear?

In the last scene Guzman tells the assembled guests that viewfam, the supposed family friendly platform, are guilty of kidnapping his nephew.

As so much emphasis was given to Oliver's faiure to provide protection, I agree Chofis likely has an STD.

I appreciate your explaining what was transpiring with the shares. "Gee, hasn't she done this trick before and that is how Guzman is got the shares in the first place". Absolutely! Enough with the stupid shares...

Las hijas, Capitulo 74
Part 1/3 (Adriana Noel posting without logging in)

Rocio is overwhelmed when Arturo arrives. He helps her sit, she cries, she’s been waiting for this moment for so long. How did he find out?
Art explains he overheard her talk to Val and then did a DNA test with Camila and Nick. He wasn’t a match for the other two.
Rocio is reassured, she knew it had to be him. Gracias, Dios mio!
Art asks what happened, so Rocio starts saying how Luis took advantage of her situation and took him away. His real father died in an accident provoked by one of the machines from the Portilla company. She had a difficult pregnancy and was in bad shape after she gave birth. When she finally came to, she was told that the Portillas had taken her son.
Art asks for some time to get used to the idea. Then he gets a call from Priscila, Rocio gets all motherly saying it’s a good thing he’s no longer going out with Val. She and her mother are not good people, they promised to help get close to him, but then they kept postponing her. Art looks upset.

The business talk is over, so Mich invites Val to have lunch with her and Nick. No can do, Val is busy. She leaves and once again Nick is relieved, before Mich interrupted them he almost said something he would have regretted. He could never, Art still loves her. And yeah, he is sacrificing his own happiness. Mich says he always does that, when will he start thinking about himself?

Leo is getting ready to go to an interview for another job. But Paula thinks he should fight to go back to the Portilla company, his birth right. And so on and so forth. Leo won’t budge, he wants to make it on his own. And she should go back to work.
Well, Paula says it’s too late for her to go back to modeling, all those years she could have been working, she chose to be there for him. Then Leo says she better start searching for a new place to live because they are moving out of the mansion.

Now at home Camila notices that Juan is not saying much… But when he starts talking, he accuses her of allowing him to fantasize about a baby that would never get to live. The doctor told him everything! She even blamed Mar for causing her miscarriage. She only used him to get back at her father. Camila says it wasn’t like that, she really loves him. But Juan no longer trusts her, she fancied having a family, and since she was used to always having her way, she used him. She accused Mar of killing their baby and lied to him.
Camila asks for his forgiveness, but he can’t believe she’d lie to him and his family, too.He would have taken care of her had she told the truth about their baby. But she preferred to lie. They are over!
Camila asks if he’s doing this because he still loves Mar. He says that as hard as he tried, he could never hate Mar. He leaves, as Camila sobs.
He goes downstairs and Susana realizes he has been fighting with Camila, she tells him to be supportive. Juan tells her the whole truth, Camila lied, she allowed them to make plans and fall in love with a baby that was never going to live.

Rocio arrives in time for lunch at the Portilla mansion. Oh, she found out so many things these last few days… She looks at Paula as she continues saying that everyone hides something, it’s amazing. You never know…Luis asks her to keep quiet and lets just eat in peace.

In jail, Mateo updates Saul about his partnership with two women who also want to go after Paula. Saul says he has videos of the night Paula came to his house, the lawyer could never use them during trial. Mateo promises to get them.

Ofelia tells Mar she’d like to know the sex of the baby, but Mar would rather wait for the birth. Ofelia wants to start buying stuff for the baby. Paula arrives to confront her, asks her to stop with her veiled accusation and speak up. Ofelia says she will when the time is right and not a minute sooner.

Susana talks to Camila. She found the baby would never have lived and Camila hid it. She made fun of all of them when all they ever gave her was love. Camila feels very bad, she never meant to hurt them. She felt so bad when she found out, she knew that Juan was going to leave her. And she was right. Susana says had she told the truth, she would have helped her with Juan. But that’s over, she can’t help the person who played with her son’s heart.

Leo comes back home frustrated. Nobody wants to give him a job, they only interview him because he is Luis Portilla’s son.
Paula gets a call (or was it a message), she hides her phone. Leo asks who it was, she says it has to be someone wanting to sell her something. And the phone rings again.

Ofelia tells Mar that she’s leaving and Mar wonders where she plans to stay now that she and Val had a fight. Ofelia says she is going back home. Mar is surprised; she always hated the casita. Ofelia says things change and Paula won’t bother her anymore. She knows why she’s saying this.

Juan remembers how badly he spoke to Mar the last time he saw her. How could he? He cries.
When he gets back home Camila is still in the bedroom. She had been waiting for him. Juan is very cold, he no longer trusts her. Camila begs for a new chance, but Juan can’t stand the lies. Camile says she loves him, but Juan insists she doesn’t, she was only using him to get back at her father. They can no longer be together.

Art, Nick and Val are having a meeting, waiting for the new investor. It’s Priscila! They are all impactados. Nick starts talking about their project and Priscila likes what she hears. She asks some questions about the money she’d have to invest and how fast they are hoping to have good results. She is happy with their answers, but she does have a doubt; should Val continue being the brand image?
Nick puts his foot down, Val’s role in the company is not up to debate. Art agrees, they are the only ones in charge with the creative decisions. Priscila backpaddles, if they want to get results so fast, they need a more recognizable face, not a beginner.
Val says the brand is made for strong women who work, they needed someone who can reflect that, and she is the right person for the job. Priscila then says that she realizes both Art and Nick are very involved with the brand, but how much does Val care about it?
Val says she does want the product to succeed, but finding a new investor is not up to her. And she has a hard time trusting a person who tried to burn her house and attacked her, trying to get her into jail. Priscila says that’s the past, she had anxiety issues. But if things are like this, she better go.
Val asks Priscila what she can do to make her stay. Priscila says they all have something to lose, Art, Nick and herself. But Val is being paid very well, what is her risk here? Val offers to work without pay while the brand is not turning in a profit. Priscila agrees and tells Art she’ll transfer them the money the next day.
When she leaves, Art says “thank you” to Val, but Nick disagrees with this decision to work without pay. Val thinks Priscila has a point, this project is Nick’s dream and she won’t ruin it. She doesn’t need that much to live anyway.

Paula slept badly, she is very worried. Leo is sure they will find a solution, he will get a job and a great house. Paula thinks he doesn’t get it, he should go back and talk to his father. Leo would rather talk to his brothers, offer to help them with their work. Paula thinks this is a ridiculous idea.

Hector tells Luis he had to resign because he didn’t approve of Leo’s decisions. But now that he’s back, he wants to start working at the company again. And yeah, Lupita admitted to being guilty, and Nick was the one who fought the hardest to prove Mar’s innocence. Luis is proud of Nick, he’s always trying to do the right thing.
 

Las hijas, Capitulo 74
Part 3/3 (Adriana Noel posting without logging in)

Ofelia tells Mar she needs to be careful with Paula, always be aware of every one of her moves. Then she tells Mar that Paula has said a lot of lies and she will give Leo proof of those lies. Mar is shocked once Ofelia tells her the truth about Paula. She pretended to be the perfect wife while lying about something as serious. She is so angry, she can’t wait to confront her. Ofelia asks her to wait, they need to keep a level head and gather more evidence. Mar agrees.

Mateo approaches Paula in the street, he was the one contacting Paula. He says he will make her pay for what she did to his brother. Paula says Saul took advantage of her, but Mateo says she always planned to accuse him of abusing her. But the truth will come out.

Camila is finally out of her room. She even packed her bags. She tells Susana and Jacinto she did marry Juan to annoy her father, but she fell in love with him. The problem is Juan never did. She is so thankful for the love they showed her. Susana was such a great mother-in-law, they would have made amazing grand-parents. Then she leaves.
Juan comes downstairs just behind her, his parents hug him.

Mar tells Ofelia about her talk with Luis about his kids. Ofelia is not surprised Luis didn’t admit to anything, but Mar doesn’t trust Rocio either. She is getting very nervous with everything that is going on.
Ofelia changes the subject, she is very worried for Val, is Art still making her suffer? Mar thinks that’s over and Val will be OK. Ofelia would like to call her, just to check in.

Camila goes to see Priscila, tells her Juan dumped her. She still talks badly about Mar, she is no longer married to her father, but she is back at the mansion. She will never let her and Juan be together. She will ruin Mar.
Then she goes to Luis at work and tells him she and Juan are over. She was very happy with him and his family. What will she do now? She did end up loving him, but they only had the baby in common. Luis is more than happy to have her back at home.

Nick tells Mich that he’s still not OK with Val not getting paid for her work. He wants her to be Ok, have everything that she needs. Mich says that if he truly believes that Art loves him and he no longer wants to be with Val, why won’t he go talk to him, ask for his approval. His love for Val is more obvious every day. But Nick can’t do that.


Val and Mar are having lunch. Val tells Mar that Art found a new investor, and that’s Priscila. Both Art and Nick accepted it but defended her when Priscila protested against her involvement. So she agreed not to get a salary until they start winning money. She realized she wasn’t doing much to help them and she needs to do this for Nick. Oh, that makes sense to Mar (wink, wink).
Val says everything is not about Nick, but Mar insists they are very connected lately; Val asks her to stop talking like this, he even has a novia, a beautiful girl he never spoke about because he’s such a private person. It’s obvious she is upset, and Mar doesn’t believe for a second that this new novia is the real deal. What she thinks is that both she and Nick are playing dumb, it’s so clear that Nick cares about her and she cares about him.
She proposes an exercise: imagine that Nick and Art aren’t be brothers. What then?
Val says that Art was the most intense love she ever felt. Mar says that first love is like this. And Nick?
Well, with Nick it would be different, because Val feels like he’d be the perfect man for her.

I've been feeling crappy for the last few days, a nasty flue I can't seem to shake. I was able to write this recap, but I'm afraid I'm going to have to bail on the one I was supposed to write for tomorrow, my head hurts non stop, I want to stop the screens for a while.

I found it odd that Ofelia made it all about herself AGAIN insisting that Mar find out the gender of her baby and not be surprised at its birth just so she could go shopping for it. Give me a break!

Hmmm . . . could Art really be Rocío’s son or will we have a last minute change? It seems all too easily explained and solved. I need more details to Rocío’s story.

Adriana Noel, thank you for soldiering on and providing this amazing recap despite being ill.

I have to admit that as Camila was preparing to leave Juan's I did thaw a bit toward her. They were never to have a happy ending, but it was hard to watch. That smidgen of sympathy evaporated quickly when I read "She will never let her and Juan be together. She will ruin Mar".

If Luis doesn't realize what a disaster inviting Camila back home will be, he isn't as smart as I've credited him for. It was her childhood home but she is no longer a child but a very dangerous adult. Luis should have offered to set Cam up in a lovely apartment. Cam will be dangerous enough visiting let alone staying there. Wait til Ofelia finds out...

A huge anvil hovers over Paula's head. It won't be long now.

I'm still thinking the window for Val and Nick to be together is closing, not sure why but...

Jarifa, I totally agree that Art's being Rocio's son "seems all to easily explasined and solved". There must be a twist coming.

Cher Adriana, Merci, so sorry to hear that you aren't feeling well and wish you a speedy recovery . I cannot believe that you produced this excellent, detailed recap despite being ill .

O continues to drive me crazy. She just has to be stirring the pot nonstop. She may say that she is doing everything to give her daughters a better life, but this woman loves being in the middle of everything and controlling things . I find her insufferable .

Well, that didn't take Juan long to drop Cam like the hot potato she is . What in the works are the writers going to do with this angry, spoiled little princessa.

Ah ha, Good old still demanding Prissy is back. Art deserves her. Susan

I found it funny that Priscilla's old, young dad, retired, or sold his business interests and is letting crazy Priscilla take over. I didn't realize Val offered to work without pay, thanks for clarifying that.

Susana did shine as a suegra to Cami. Too bad she never gave Mar a chance. Still waiting to learn the backstory between O Susanna.

Thanks so much Adriana, your recap was outstanding. I also did not realize Val offered to work without pay. I also find it hard to believe that both brothers think having Priscila as the investor is a good idea. I’m beginning to think Arturo and Priscila might be meant for a miserable life together.

Arturo might not match Camila and Nick’s dna but I think he was legally adopted. I’d hate for Rocio to be his real mother and I agree it was just too easy. He just decided this was his mother and goes in for a hug! I’m anxious for the real story. And hoping Ofelia is wrong about something. Luis has never given us a reason to doubt his integrity.

Papas, thanks Diana and Kat. Things are spiraling out of control everywhere! I’m hoping Igor will get even with Guzman somehow. And Clara Luz will decide to remain true to her friends. Although if she’s arrested she won’t have to decide.

Fed can prove Facundo innocent but won’t. Nice woman. I’m guessing the faint and the doctor’s advice to Tino was all false. I’m trying to remember if she also asked the doctor to change how far along she was. I’m thinking I read that in a recap but could be wrong. But if she’s wants the date of conception changed Facundo or even Demaso could be the father. But not Chano. Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to conceive.

Juegos #31

In no particular order, things that happened in this episode

*The roller coaster relationship ride continues, now Luci is calling it off with Roberto since he kept the Enrique/Karina secret from her.
*Mariana and Leonardo meet outside her home and kiss, then drive off. Mateo, her husband, is sitting in his car and spies them.
*Elena, Omar and Luci get to talk to the guy in jail that supposedly killed Toby. Omar mentions something about the other guy being dead which Luci catches.
*Elena does get the go ahead to move into Sophia's hostel, piano included. I guess Daniel will also, unless he goes off on his own. She sold her apartment fully furnished except she was keeping the piano. Sophi says music is great therapy so they will certainly find a place for it.
* Mateo, architecture Prof, tells Daniel his work on the project is incorrect and he'll probably fail. Not sure why he wants to sabotage him, unless in a backwards way he is trying to protect Memo by getting Daniel out of the college.
*It was pretty much a stalemate with Natalia and manalo and Roberto. Manalo does tell Roberto he has all the notes from the Capital case, except one hard drive that Fabiola took. Manalo isn't sure who he can trust in the police, same with Natalia.
*Roberto is starting to also wonder who is honest at work. So far he still seems to trust Victoria.

I'm sure I'm forgetting things, I watched it at 5:30 a.m. so I wasn't wide awake yet.

I felt sorry for Cami too...even after she said she'd go after Mar, if I'm being honest. And I don't feel for her because Juan left her, it's the reason why...it's a pet-peeve, I hate it when shows take these easy way out and paint the 'she lied and played with us all' narrative. Cami found out she had a doomed pregnancy like 3 episodes before everyone else and then she lost the baby before she could come clean. I mean yeah, she didn't need to blame the miscarriage on Mar, there's that. But Juan tells Mommy that she played with them all as if Cami had known for MONTHS that the baby wasn't going to make it instead of days. Is it the most wonderful thing ever that she didn't run and tell Juan and co right away that she was going to lose the baby? No. Is it understandable? Yes! I would much rather see Juan forgive Cami for 'lying' about this and then end things for the real reason - he just doesn't love her and doesn't want to be with her.

I disagree with Val given up her salary for the cause! Pris is just manipulative, but setting that aside, her point was that she, Art and Nic all had something to lose and Val didn't. Um, so??? Why would your model have something to lose in the proposition when you're launching a sportsline??? If you're the investor, sure. The inventor? Of course!!! It's your product, your company, your product and/or investment.... but if you're the model??? It's nice that Val is willing to sacrifice for Nic but it's a completely ridiculous ask. And Art didn't protest at all...but he did seem impacted.

I am definitely team Art is lying to protect Nic - which is an interesting decision when you think about it. He's so mad at Val for 'lying' to him about the very same subject that he never wants to speak to her again, but he is choosing the same lie to protect his brother....and if Nic truly was Rocio's son, doesn't he think he would have a right to know? I am definitely not a fan of this man's (lack of) logic.

Las hijas #75 part 1

So Mar tells Val she knows that Arturo and Nick aren't blood brothers. Val thinks Rocio got to her, but it was O which sets Val off, AGAIN. Mar talked to Luis about it because he would be the one to know. He confirmed that his son ( not named) is Rocio's but things aren't as they seem. Val can't believe it.
Michelle is there to throw dust in the eyes of Val and company that he has another love interest. She thinks he should tell the truth though for his own sake.
Rocio and Arturo are eating lunch at her house. She has a box of things she wants to show him from when she was pregnant, maybe photos of his dad, proof she knew he.was her son in the way of the newspaper clippings of him. He asks to wait while he is eating but looks like he'd rather be elsewhere.

Back to Val and Mar with Val complaining about the awful relationship she has with mama. She has never supported me, blah blah. Have I mentioned I really don't like this character? Mar says I hope you won't regret your relationship with her some day.
Rocio wants to know all about her son. He doesn't know where to begin. Since discovering his parentage his whole perspective has changed. He mentions Val. Rocio is glad he broke up with her. O is a dangerous woman and the fruit doesn't fall far from the tree. Arturo does defend Val saying she is different.
Nick and Michelle are drinking wine, again, in his apartment. Knocking on the door brings Arturo. He knows Michelle from the past and greets her warmly . He gets to have some wine too.
O and Mar talk at the mansion. O can't believe Val is going to work without pay ( I'm thinking the apartment is a nice perk so it isn't totally a freebie). Mar says I trust Val knows what she is doing. O hopes so. O is waiting for Luis to return so she can leave Mar in safe hands. Mar wonders where he is, it's late. That's because he is bringing Cami back home. Sweet Mar reaches for her hand and tells her how happy she is back, this is her home. Cami pulls away and says I know. Luis doesn't expect them to be friends, but they need to respect each other and get along for the good of all. Mar agrees with a smile, Cami begrudgingly. O mutters with
how peaceful they were in this house . Luis says what did you say. O says nothing but the truth. Cami asks dad to go with her to her room. O tells Mar, I don't like this at all
Michelle last saw Arturo at his graduation in December. He asks how long are you staying, she says that depends on Nick. She excuses herself to do some work but advises Nick to talk to Arturo about you know what. Whatever happens remember your great love for each other. Arturo says whatever happens? What do you have to tell me.
Mar wonders what could have happened with Juan. O is mad the first thing she thinks about us that bum. Mar just wonders. O says we'll find out.

Luis comforts Cami. She thanks him. Luis leaves her room and then Paula comes in thinking it's where Mar is, which makes no sense. She says oh hi Cami, what are you doing here. But Paula is glad to hear she is back. Cami says I'm only here to rid this house of Mar and Señora Garcia. What do you say we work together. Paula is thrilled. Count me in as they shake on it.

 

Las hijas #75 part 2
Nick tris to change the subject asking how is Arturo doing. I've had one of the worst days of my life Art says. Nick asks, is it about Val? In part. And something else I'm trying to resolve, but don't worry about me. What is it you wanted to talk about. Nick says it's about Valeria. Art shuts him up, I don't want to talk about her at all, I won't forgive her I don't want you to fix things between us, why won't you listen to me.
Juan is going to work. Jacinto hitches a ride. He doesn't want Juan running off to see Mar. Juan says I listened to you when it was Cami and I forming a family, but that is over. Mar is the love of my life.
Mar gives Luis a peck on the cheek as he leaves for work. Cami comes down the stairs. I'm only here to recover from losing my baby and ridding this house of your presence. Don't even think about getting back with Juan. Mar says you only marry him for spite. You knew we were in love. Cami tells her she and Juan fell in love at first sight. Mar goes upstairs in tears as o walks in. She asks Cami, did you enjoy that?
Michi and Nick are eating breakfast. She asks if he spoke with Arturo. He says I tried but he wouldn't let me. She pesters him, you need to tell him, you deserve to be happy.
The doorbell rings. Leo this time. He needs to talk to Nick.
Cami and o square off. O will protect her daughter. Also, Mar and Juan have a much stronger love than Cami with him. The baby she is expecting is Juan's. That shuts Cami up.
Meanwhile Leo is begging for a job, despite all the wrongs he has committed, with Nick. He has to pay his way now that dad fired him. Nick is shocked.
Cami can't believe what she is hearing. O goes on to tell her, and your dad knows all about it before they married.
Nick tells Leo you betrayed us. I'll have to talk to Arturo, you are our brother. But if we do hire you, Paula will have nothing to do with it. Leo agrees
Michi talks with Val in the apartment foyer. Michelle determines that, yes Val is interested in Nick since she wants Michelle to treat him right. He has a heart of gold.
Leo is hired. Arturo tells him no more secret recordings as they shake on it.
O and Mar talk. She wants Mar to look nice tonight, she is inviting someone to dine and she has a plan. ( Will it be Juan or Mateo that is the dinner guest?)
Since when is a model involved in ad campaigns. The three brothers and she ate brainstorming. Leo apologized to her and she says if your brothers are ok with you,bits none of my business. Nick and her theme song plays.
Mateo brings evidence against Paula to Rocio. It's up to her to somehow get it into Leo's hands. Since she has found her son she decides she won't help him. He says we had a pact. But she is out ( isn't this what she accused O of doing to her?) will he bring the info to O. One can hope.
Jacinto has come to see Luis. He is aggravated but agrees to see him. Jacinto is very upset with Cami and the way she hid the ectopic pregnancy from them and didn't take the med to terminate the pregnancy. This is all news to Luis.

 

Las hijas #75:part 3
Leo tells Paula he got a job. She laughs at his new position. Talk to your dad and beg for your old job back. She ridicules him, etc. all he wants is a little support from her, which she never gives. He yells her, I don't need anything from you and stalks off.

Cami visits Priscilla complaining about Mar having Juan's baby. Priscilla says he's not worth it. Out goal needs to be getting rid of those Garcia women.
O catches Leo in the hallway of the mansion. She says I don't know you well, but that wife of yours is a bad person. She keeps so many secrets, how can you trust her? Like that painting of your mother's, she did it. I would never have done something so stupid, she did it to get rid of me. What else could she be capable of doing? You need to see the truth about her or the one that will be hurt is you.
Michi tells Nick she spoke with Val, no not about how you feel about her. But I learned she certainly cares for you.
Luis knocks on Cami's door but she isn't home. Mar tells him she left a while ago. Is everything ok. Luis tells her what Jacinto revealed. Mar is shocked. Poor Juan.
Arturo visits Rocio outside her house. She wants him to go with her to visit his father's grave. She mentions breakfast with his girlfriend. Priscilla. He says I'm not in any relationship. Val lied to me and I will never forgive her.
Back at the mansion the family is assembled for dinner ( no Cami or Arturo). They wonder where I is. Mar says I doubt she will be late. On queue she arrives with a friend. Mateo. Paula recognizes him. He says it's a pleasure to meet everyone and he especially would like to get to know Leo. Paula chokes on her water
I guess the apartment building has an exercise area on the roof or something. Val is breathing heavily after a workout. She gazes over the city. Nick arrives. They talk, she tells him he tries to control everyone. What's with Michelle, I guess that is why you were going to Boston. He decides talking isn't working so he grabs her and kisses her, which earns him a slap in the face. What are you doing. He says fine and starts to walk away, she grabs him this time and lip locks ensue.

Now that Nick and Valeria's ardor has finally sparked a flame, will it be happily ever after? I'm voting yes, particularly after Arturo claimed (again) he'd never forgive Val. Give it up I say, clearly peeved.

I also can't believe she told Camila Juan is the father of Mar's baby. Surely she realized Camila will really be out for blood?? Ofelia doesn't live there any longer and can't protect her. Now Mar is alone with the two vipers.

Camila should have told Juan about the ectopic pregnancy, but either way, she lost the baby. I thought Juan's parents reaction was overly harsh and quite unsympathetic. Further, I was surprised and dismayed Jacinto took it upon himself to visit Luis and reveal the whole story.

I loved Paula squirming when she saw Mateo. The beginning of the end.
