Caray, Caray!

PAPAS #76 Part 1

Previously: Circe had a frightening encounter with El Calacas; she eventually does tell Aidé and Tino. El Calacas talks further with Guzmán. Aidé wants to get Circe away from Checo’s neighborhood and his influence.

Chofis tells Checo the truth about what happened; she confides in Lichita not at all. Guzmán quickly realizes Lichita does not know what happened between he and Chofis. He asks her to find out if the shares were really put in Scarlet’s name. Maxiclick is losing subscribers but view fam is gaining them.

Rudolf is ready to dismiss Rosalinda for her lack of progress in the case; somehow, she later manages to get Clara Luz out of jail until the trial. She makes it clear that he “owes” her as his face mirrors his shock.

After Tino left, Aidé remembered seeing Dámaso by her side the night of the fiesta. When she confronts him, he blames his behavior on his drug use. Then inexplicably, she doesn’t confront him further. Later, he pulls up pictures of a new apartment for her. (Is she doubting him or just stringing him along? Enquiring minds want to know).

Damaris tells Tino the herb he inquired about seems to induce impotency. He realizes Fed lied to him. After Chano admits to Tino that he didn’t get a vasectomy, Tino demands Fed take a DNA test.

In the last scene a growing crowd including Igor, Aidé, Tino, Checo, Chano, the kids and Lichita assembled.

We pick up with Chano getting a call from Fed. Hoping to assuage Lichita’s suspicions, he puts the call on speaker. This backfires spectacularly when Fed screams at Chano for lying to her that he got a vasectomy! As Lichita grabs the phone, her face contorted with disbelief and hurt, Fed yells that he better not tell Tino and finally spits out that the baby is his!!!

Lichita disconnects the call as a horrified silence falls over the room. Lichita slaps Chano. Hard.

Rudolf tries to get through to Rosalinda, he doesn’t love her. She seems demented, staring at him.

Don Jorge comes to visit Guzmán who lays it on thick, fawning all over him; it’s an honor, telling him how wonderful he is. It is obvious he wants to steal him away to work at Maxiclick. Don Jorge mentions everyone at view fam and says they are his family. He doesn’t accept and says adios. Guzmán looks incredulous.

PAPAS #76 Part 2

Chano denies, denies, denies. Igor spills the tea he saw them together at Maxiclick. Meanwhile Fed gets a text from Dámaso telling her what happened. She screams in frustration.

Tino and Dámaso start to get into it; Aidé just wants to get her children home. Everyone beats a hasty retreat; Igor tells Lichita he is sorry but snaps his fingers in Chano’s face on the way out. Lichita calls Chano mentirosa (for the first but not for the last time tonight).

Aidé and family have just arrived home when Facundo comes in to darken the day even further. He says his precious is accompanying him to Monterey.

Fer offers a livid Tino refreshment as he tells her how angry he is. He cuts off her explanations and excuses saying he isn’t stupid. He tells her she is nothing in his life.

Chofis and Checo talk about her going to the clinic.

Chano asks Lichita for forgiveness but she puts out her hand condemning him. She talks about respect as Chano breaks down. It’s over forever she declares. He calls himself an imbecile (true enough) and after a few more choice words, Lichita screams, telling him to leave the house. She gets a text from Guzmán (something about Facundo) and texts “gracias” as she evaporates in tears.

Brenda tells Facundo to vamos as the children stand around. Aidé starts leading the children away. Facundo seems to make fun of Dámaso telling him to “shoo”. It seems Lorena sends Circe a link to a recording Facundo made when he was sabotaging the breaks of Aidé’s car (I admit I completely forgot about this) which caused Uli’s accident. Aidé and Dámaso confront him but Facundo lies saying it’s not true as Aidé hits him. We see Guzmán texting; is he responsible for posting of the shocking video? Circe reads the comments as Aidé demands he tell the truth. Facundo finally admits it; he expected Tino to be driving, not Aidé or Uli!

Tino’s fury toward Fed continues unabated; he upbraids her for how she treated Emi. In a desperate attempt to garner sympathy, she runs to the counter, grabs her pocketbook pulling out a vial and drinking it.

Dámaso threatens to call the police but Facundo hits him in the head with his suitcase and manages to get away.

Tino is in the hospital when Chano arrives. He tells him Fed is in serious condition and he doesn’t know about the baby. Chano asks for Tino’s forgiveness.

PAPAS #76 Part 3 of 3

A somber Lichita tells Checo and Chofis she and Chano are separating because Checo is having a child with another woman. Chofis is of course surprised but Checo seems to shrug saying Chano is his father. She then asks to talk to Chofis alone.

Igor spills the tea to Rudolf about what has transpired.

Like Checo before her, Chofis tells her mother, Chano is her father (in a forgiving manner I couldn’t quite muster) and holds her mother’s hand. Lichita asks her what is going on with Oliver, please trust her. Chofis is as unyielding as a vault. She says she is fine; don’t worry about her and gets up and leaves. Lichita breaks down.

Aidé has joined Tino at the hospital, concerned about her prima. They talk about Facundo and Scarlet. He tells her to be calm and hugs her. He starts to question her about Dámaso and hopes she won’t let him manipulate her. She mutters something and leaves.

At a meeting, Aidé talks about subscriptions. Tino makes fun of Dámaso; shortly after, everyone is dismissed. Igor asks Tino how things are going with Guzmán. Tino doesn’t want to bother Aidé but he goes to sit next to her. Dámaso comes in and has a new video. Tino’s phone rings as Dámaso sits down. Lichita comes in; Igor is happy to see her.

Rudolf greets Pipe who is wearing a “Big Chief Rescue” shirt. A puppet pops its head out and Clara Luz appears. In a later scene, the three hugged.

Chano is leaning over Fed’s bed as she wakes and screams, startled. He starts to talk to her but she looks away and her head lolls to the side. He goes for help.

I believe Tino announces that Clara Luz is out of jail for the time being. Lichita says something about Facundo and Scarlet; Aidé and Tino exchange looks.

Dámaso texts Aidé a romantic video. Igor gives him the stink eye.

Augusto gives Aidé papers. We find out what they are in the last scene.

PAPAS #76 Part 4 of 4

Dámaso is being asked something by Damaris.

Tino and Rudolf discuss something regarding Dámaso (something about sexual allegations?) Igor is hovering in the background, warning Tino that Dámaso is planning something romantic for Aidé.

Indeed we see Dámaso live streaming. He, Aidé and the children are at a restaurant. Aidé beams into the camera saying how wonderful he is with her children. He says he has another surprise in store. Aidé has a concerned look on her face I can’t quite decipher.

Lichita and Clara Luz talk about Chofis.

Chofis leaves school but Guzmán lies in wait around the corner. He congratulates her (for keeping quiet I imagine). Just then Lichita arrives just in time to see him grabbing Chofis by her hurt arm.

Dámaso takes out a huge diamond ring as Tino arrives with Damaris. Aidé cooly leads Dámaso to another room. Dámaso is upset as Tino has interrupted the most important moment of his life. All of a sudden, Aidé’s total demeanor changes. She holds up an envelope as Dámaso visibly cringes. While I couldn’t understand the beginning of what she says she tells him you are the father of my children!! My apologies to Aidé who knew exactly what was transpiring.

I realize I missed things and can only apologize. I would have needed to watch this at least twice (along with rewinding) to understand most of what transpired tonight. It was nearly impossible to try and capture what was happening in one scene before the next began. I had a bit of trouble rereading my notes, trying to figure out if what I had was right. Your help in filling in and correcting what I got wrong is greatly appreciated.

* Memo's goons want to be paid in cash, not stolen jewels.
*Ines and Karina fight about the campaign. Honestly at this point I prefer Karina to Ines.... Karina gets upset with Enrique for not defending her.
* Pato refuses to say what Karina and Enrique concoct to explain the video and him kissing a guy. He wants to say I'm gay. Not sure what they decided. Pato agrees to keep quiet about something. Karina thinks his plan could work.
* Natalia is leaving but wants to tell them the truth( I forgot in yesterday's episode she admitted to writing the anonymous notes that they got about the capital case). Luci is willing to listen but Chofis tells her to go, get out of here.
* FF shows Victoria all the evidence against Joachin to make sure she doesn't let him in on the current investigation. She thinks there must be another explanation. He tells her do your own sleuthing.
*Ines visits Leo. Enrique has his lover back working on the campaign. They hug. Oops, Mariana is in the apartment too...the sisters argue. Why didn't you tell me the problems you are having with Karina and Enrique. Leo beats a hasty retreat.
*Looks like not enough blood to do a DNA analysis against Erik's mother. Omar comes to his office to confess killing Erik.
*Daniel calls Luci. He wants to rent a room too . Also pray for my nephew. He may come prematurely.
*Enrique is being driven. Picketers want to talk to him. Elena cuts through and bangs on the window. Her grandson needs help.
Mariana continues to bash perfect Ines. And what are you doing here anyway. I'm here to talk to a friend. She huffs off. Mariana finds Leo. What are you up to?
* Enrique walks with Elena to his headquarters. How can I help? Money? No Susy needs to be in a hospital with a neonatal unit. He has a friend in the hospital. She thanks him and apologizes for having said he only helps people if it is politically advantageous.
* FF and Omar are talking out away from the precinct ( to stay away from prying eyes and ears). Omar can't take it any longer. The guilt is too much he liked Erik Zapeta with his own hands. I've discovered he's innocent. Roberto says you also are innocent.
*Omar tells FF everything that happened, including how Enrique and Torres found Erik for him and told him where he was .
*Victoria picks Joachin's lock and sees the evidence. She is on the phone with Joachin at the time ( he is with Bertha). She's not happy he's talking to Victoria. I'm your priority, undress...
* Luci and Chofis visit the hospital to see Daniel. Alex is there. He introduces her as his novia. Luci recalls the convo with FF about Alex being in the car when Toby was hit, per his theory.
*FF tells Omar to keep quiet, don't say anything. I promised Elena I'd find the culprits. Omar prayed to God to save his grandchild, that's why he turned himself in. FF says stay far away from Enrique too.
* Alex tells Luci she and Adrian broke up due to his drinking.

Juegos #37 part 2

Germán and Karina talk about cleaning Pato's image. German is worried about the conservative family value groups. She says Enrique is saving the Saldana baby as we speak. That will play well with that crowd. German is worried about Omar. Does she know about him? German tells her forget about it and leaves.
* Pato calls Paul. Paul wants nothing to do with him. Hasta nunca.
Omar arrives at the hospital and sees Enrique and demands to know what is he doing there. Elena tells him he is arranging for Susy to be transferred. Apologize. Omar recalls FF's words and blames his outburst on worry for his grandson. Enrique and Luci leave. Elena and Omar talk. He doesn't spill the beans but is very agitated. He blames it on not trusting politicians. Favors are never free.
* FF meets Natalia in their smokey bar. She has her suitcase with her. She explains how she was kicked out. He offers her a room which she refuses. Manalo arrives. Fabiola's missing person case has been transferred to the police department per order of Bertha ( I think). FF makes an exception and tells the most interesting fact about the case is Enrique Ferrer. He is sure Berta is behind Fabiola's disappearance. We need to find her so we know what she told Berta. The big boss is on his side and has given him permission to continue looking into the case quietly. Also, Natalia needs a roof over her head.
*Enrique has dragged Luci to his speech venue. She is not happy. A guy at the event asks about his son Pato is he coming out of the closet? Enrique chokes but Luci defends Pato and says he was drugged in that place. Also his sexual orientation isn't important.
 

Papas
Dameso has been accused of sexual harassment or worse by other women. You really got everything in this episode. You heard and understand more than you thought.

I'm a bit confused about Clara luz, I thought Rudolph was going to pretend to be a couple with Rosita since she threatened to not help if he didn't and Clara would remain in jail. Since Clara was out I expected her to make another appearance.
 

Las hijas, Capitulo 80

Part 1/2

Leo confronts Paula, she's been treating him like an idiot all these years. Luis and Mar arrive and Leo tells them Paula was the one to give him the médicine that harmed him. Paula says everything is Ofelia's doing, she even gave her money to shut her up, but she is sure she made up a lot of stuff. Leo says it wasn't Ofelia, he heard her talk to Mateo. Paula keeps begging, Luis tells her to stop hurting her son. She is finally taken away by the cops. Luis hugs a crying Leo.

Ofelia comes to see Val and tells her she was right, they should have never gone back to the mansion. She thought she'd bring down Paula, but it didn't work. She asks for her help, but Val is very cold. SHE will take care of her sister, but all alone, she doesn't want to have anything to do with her mother ever again. How could she plot with Rocio all this time? Ofelia tries to justify herslelf, she never thought things would turn out like this. But Val is done hearing excuses, just stay away from them.

Paula is taken to a prison cell. She asks for a phone call, says she's a Portilla. The guards agrees to allow her a call.

Leo apologizes to Mar. She is gracious to him, Paula lied to her, also.
Paula's call was to Leo, she once again says that Ofelia lied to him. All she's ever done was for him. But Leo is done, she will pay for all the harm that she's caused. Paula insists Mar was the one who hurt Luis, Leo tells her he spoke to Lupita and he went at the gallery. She then begs him not to let her stay in jail. He hangs up.

Nick tells Michelle that he'd like to focus on work, but he can't. She thinks he should try talking to Arturo again, he will listen to him.

Leo is all alone in the dark, when Art and Camila come to talk o him. He tells them what happened with Paula. She's in jail now, she's been making fun of him all this time. They can't even imagine...Art and Camila both comfort him.

Paula is not having the greatest time in jail.

Ofelia is home alone and she thinks she deserves it. But she won't stop fighting to get her daughters back. She prays to the Virgen, she needs to learn how to be a better mother.

Several days go by. Rocio keeps watching Art from afar, the brothers work on their project (no Val in sight), Mar is buying baby clothes, Val is showing her photos to an agency, Nick thinks about Val, Val thinks about... not sure what. Mar gets a magazine cover of her baby bump.

Camila and Juan sign divorce papers. They share a nice exchange, she tells him he taught her how to be happy without money. Neither imagined things would turn out this way when they first decided to marry. He says she is a good woman, she will be happy. She also wishes for him to find joy.

Luis makes Art and Nick talk to fix their problems. Art doesn't want to at first, so Luis plays the Cecilia card. They are both suffering, but they can't go on like this. They need to start talking.
Luis leaves, but demands they figure out a way to solve their issues.
They sit down and Art asks why did it have to be Val? Nick doesn't know, he kept it all inside for a very long time. The only moment he dared share his feelings with her was when Art told her they were over. But if he still loves Val, he will go to Boston, step away. Art stops him from leaving, he's made mistakes also. Nick wants to get Art back first and foremost. They agree they both want the other to be happy and they also decide that if either has to lose Val, it's OK if the other one will be happy.
They will accept Val's decision and never fight again, no matter what. These last few days have been awful. Nick apologizes again, he just couldn't stop feeling how he felt. Art can't understand why Nick didn't tell him, he had to find out from Rocio. Nick doesn't understand why she meddled, Art says she doesn't matter.
They shake hands and both apologize again.


 

Las hijas, Capitulo 80

Part 2/2

Val talks to Mar about still being torn. She can't even begin to understand what is going on with her. But the sportwear is going well apparently. Mar is sympathetic, both men are great.
Val says Art is funny, passionate about a lot of stuff. He was the first guy to ever look at her differently; and with Nick she always had this strong bond, he always knows what he wants and has always been there for her. Her feelings are not OK, she is breaking their bond. She should probably just stay away from both.

Ofelia tells Susana and the vecinas that she did live the good life and now her daughtres have a good life. Even if she's back in the barrio, it was her choice. Yeah, right.

Camila is back home, sad over her divorce. She had hoped up until the last moment. Leo comforts her, it's better to be alone than in bad company; look at him with Paula. She needs to start doing something she feels passionate about. How about finding a job? Camila thinks that might work.
She goes to talk to her father about the divorce. Also, she doesn't want to fight anymore. She'd like to find a distraction, what if she started working for the company? Luis is very happy to hear this. They hug.

Nick tells Michelle he managed to fix things with Art. He feels so much better. Now he wants to talk to Val, tell her she has to make her choice. He doesn't want Michelle to wait around for him. She understands and she thinks it would be better if she left.

Art goes to see Val at the apartament. She is very apologetic about what happened, but she and Nick only talked, nothing ever happened. She kept quiet about Rocio and things her mother has done, but it was not in her power to act. She only wanted to protect them when she didn't say anything. Art says that he understands her better than she can imagine. Then they talk about Priscila, he says nothing happened because he still loves her.
She feels very bad for hurting the brothers' relationship, Nick only told her how he felt when Art broke up with her. Art asks if she feels something for Nick and she explians that he stood by her and helped her like no other, while Art himself never did. That's why she started having feelings for him. But she doesn't know if it's love.
Art admits his mistakes and his explosive character, he couldn't deal with the problems. They agree they were both in the wrong. But he's here and he will be waiting for her to decide. He and Nick talked, it's up to her to make her choice. All he wants is for her to be happy with or without him.
He kisses her o the cheek and leaves.

Ofelia and Amparo talk about the girls, Ofelia still doesn't want to tell them about her past.

Rocio sees Art leave Val's place. She is upset because Val convinced him to get back together with her. Oh, she can't allow that, she will take care of her.

Luis is talking to Cecilia's portrait. He can still hear her voice when he closes his eyes. He's so happy Camila wants to work with him. Leo is back on track also, working. And Art and Nick are talking again, and taking care of their company.

Paula talks to her journalist friend. She will give him some information to write an article. He will then have to take it to Leo and threaten to publish it if he doesn't help her. It could hurt all the Portillas. It's about Mar's baby, Luis is not the father. The journalist seems reluctant to help.

Mar is back in the barrio and she runs into Juan. He saw her in the magazine. She gets close, touches his shoulder… but refrains herself.

Amparo talks to Val about Ofelia hurting a lot. Her life has been a nightmare. She was not only sold by her parents, but her father treated her like an object and abused her constantly.

Ofelia is home, looking at Mar and Val's magazine covers. She is so proud of them. Everybody will see them shine now.

Just so you know, you are the one who is great, doing all these recaps from your phone, putting in so much effort.
For me writing comes naturally, it's a hobby, and making fun of these idiots has become second nature. I'm so happy to have all of you to chat with, watching all alone would be no fun.

Adriana, I'm about to the point I think Val should choose neither brother! If there were 3 endings filmed I wonder if that was one of the options. It feels like a cop out for her to have a HEA when neither relationship has really had a chance to develop.

Ofelia with her uppity ways is always good for a laugh. Lording it over the neighbors with her state of the art new refrigerator, etc. I guess that check she got from Paula that she kept 1% of was a doozy. I mean, we saw the sack so it was obviously a lot, but still. She keeps appearing in new outfits every day, has no job, buys the society magazines with no visible means of support.

I don't see where the shock of Mar not carrying a Portillo baby will help Paula. Everyone in the family already knows, and they are already divorced anyhow. It's at least a way for Juan and his family to finally learn the truth though. Based on the coming trailers the next 2 episodes will be interesting. Tonight's episode has the title Gran Final and Monday's is Romance. So 8 guess I get the honors of finishing it out.

Having people to share it with and shake our heads over the implausible twists and turns is a highlight of my days. Only so much meaningful conversations i can have with a 2 year old ( who is really advanced in her speech actually, she has been talking in full sentences for 6 months already. She is a sponge soaking up new words and using them correctly. I even try to teach her some Spanish).

So, Damaso being accused of "sexual harrassment or worse" makes him being the twins' father oh so much worse! I feel a bit guilty I doubted Aide; she was onto him from the moment she had the flashback. How disappointed Circe and Uli will be!

The aftermath will be interesting to see tonight!

UNBELIEVABLE: Amparo reminds Valeria that her mother’s parents SOLD her mother to her father and Valeria’s reaction is so matter-of- fact already knowing about that. How could knowing that her daddy dearest BOUGHT her mother be so easy for her to accept? That knowledge alone should have been enough for Valeria to realize that her father was not a good person no matter how good he was to her when she was a kid. The info on the subsequent abuses should have been mere “ icing in the cake.” These characters /writers aren’t thinking straight.

Adriana Noel, reading your recaps unfailingly brighten my day. Your writing flows so seamlessly and is perfectly seasoned with wit and wisdom.

"Nick thinks about Val, Val thinks about... not sure what" was perfect. I like that Luis forced the bros to talk and that the final decision will be left up to Val. She admitted that "she doesn't know if it's love" she feels for Nick. But were her feelings for Art based on love, infatuation or a mix of both? If she chooses Art, I feel he will inevitably let her down; he is too hot headed and unforgiving at times. Nick is the better choice but he has marvelous Michele waiting in the wings; far too lustrous to be a mere consolation prize...

I felt for Mar when she approached Juan and put her hand on his shoulder. I may be alone but am looking forward to them reuniting. I have a feeling Suzana will be redeemed but she is a horrible harridan who doesn't deserve it.

Ofelia remains optimistic as Paula fights to survive.

Jarifa, I agree. This is my favorite show of the night also. I only stuck with papas for the patio. Fede and her baby voice is so annoying. I must admit the child actors are very good in it. I dislike Arturo and Val in Las hijas, even though we are supposed to be rooting for them...

Thanks Diana, great recap. Aide was one step ahead of Tino this time and had the DNA test done. The kids were ok with her being with Damaso but said Tino would always be their father. So I think they’ll be ok with Damaso as their bio dad. At least now they’ll know.

I had also forgotten about Facundo cutting the brake line. I bet the video was posted by Guzman as he owns the house now. What’s crazy is Uli said they knew it had been cut, I think from the garage. So why was there never an investigation. But it makes me think Fede might be revealed as having tried to kill Emi when he was in the hospital.

Rosalinda is crazy. She insists he loves her and if he doesn’t Clara Luz will be back in jail and Pipi will never be with him either.

Tonight should be a confrontation between Luchita and Guzman. That will be good. I hope her anger gives her the strength to beat him up.

Thanks Adriana, I enjoyed your recap, it was like rewatching the show. I really prefer Nick and don’t want Val with Arturo. I think I’d rather have her just become a famous model. I figure Camila will not be paired off at the end, and hopefully Priscila will be single too. I don’t want her with Arturo either! I wonder how Mar and Camila will get along now! Is Susana supposed to become likable with two episodes left?

Rocio is getting really scary. I guess that will be most of the drama as the show comes to an end.

I didn’t realize Paula wanted her journalist friend to use the Mar story as a threat to get Leo to help her. Hopefully the family will realize Paula has been feeding this guy the family dirt all along.

If tonight is the grand finale all the drama should be revealed then. Except maybe Val’s choice and Mar and Juan. That comes under Romance! Should be a good show, both of them. I always think we need longer happy endings to these telenovelas.
 

Hijas (past several)

Gracias, amigas, for all this great work. When I finally feel up to it there will need to be a new list of Toxic Mothers with this series taking center stage. I've seen several with two; this is the first one with more.

I agree with the comment the other day that Susannah and Jacinto should have accepted the gifts from Camila. Instead of being embarrassed they should have been proud because they contributed to her change in attitude.

Valeria will be her acid test when she goes to work for Luis, who looks like he's becoming a better father.

If there weren't only two episodes left I would suggest to Valeria to get a two-week photo shoot in Italy to get away from it all for perspective.

I laughed at Paula's arrest and her new life in prison. Leo pulled this one off brilliantly.

Finally, if anyone is interested in seeing GGC as another Good Guy, Por Amar Sin Ley is no available on Vix. He's the head of a law firm and some of the other lawyers were his students. I think you are exactly right in that Guzman posted the video of Facundo tampering with the brakes. Uli saying they knew the brakes were cut IS ringing a (faint) bell. You always add so much, thank you!

I'm still chomping at the bit to find out why Dam didn't figure out he was the twins father until recently. I can't wait to find out what precipitated it.

While I want Guzman put away (for the rest of his miserable life) as quickly as possible, with three episodes left after tonight, I fear he will be on the loose for a while longer.

Thank heavens Uli and Circe do haveTino; as you noted, they consider him their father. As well they should.

Thank you, Adriana, for all the fabulous recaps you've done. It seems I always miss something in each episode, and the recaps fill in the blanks.

Am I the only person surprised that the show is ending Monday? I didn't see any "ultimas semanas", etc.

Valeria shouldn't end up with either brother. She's too uncertain, flighty
and boring . I don't know if it's the writing, or the actor, but she is about the most uninspiring, lifeless protagonista I've seen. And she's too mean to her mother.

The Rocio story interests me the most. Is she really the mother of one of the kids, or is she a sad, deluded woman?

I hope Luis survives; he seems in precarious health.

Does Enrique know the truth about the death of Luci's parents, or is he an innocent pawn of Inés' father? Does she know?

So many questions! Happy to see Juan Soler in this. He's been a favorite of mine since La Otra.

About the newspaper scandal - it's not just that Cami isn't carrying Luis's baby - it's that she's carrying Luis's (ex) son-in-law's!!! That is (kind-of) eyebrow raising! We've talked about how complicated family dinners could be with all the couple dynamics around here.

I suppose I will just have to accept that everyone except Paula - and hopefully Rocio - is getting a HEA instead of an anvil, but I still say some of them needed anvils.

I don't understand Val's uncertainly now. She sounded very sure of how she felt when she told Mar she thought Nic was the perfect man for her and when she said she realized that Art was not the type of man she wanted to be in a relationship with. The only thing that makes sense to me is that guilty is clouding her emotions and making her feel confused. Or bad writing? Purposefully vague to set up the possibility of three different endings so not even the actors would know which one it would be.

Here's hoping we don't see Prissy again!
 

Las hijas # 81 Gran Final part 1
*Amparo tells Val the truth about her abusive father. Val promises she will speak to her mother.
*Rocio accosts Mar in the street. Typical blame game against O and Val and Luis. Mar tells her she is loca and Luis says it's not what she claims. I swear they will pay Rocio threatens.
*Juan and Jacinto are at the outside Virgin, or lady of Guadalupe, not sure what saint they all pray to. Juan doesn't want Mat's baby to suffer because of him. Sies he thinks his love for Amar initiated Luis and Mar's divorce. I'm lost....
*Rocio gives bat shit crazy and tells Mar her baby doesn't deserve to live, shoves her to the ground. She appears to have hit her head and blacked out. Rocio runs off.
* Val visits the Casita. Amparo told me about dad. Yes he abused me but he also gave me my greatest gifts, my daughters. You remind me of myself in my younger days. Nothing will knock you down. You are so strong.
* Of course Juan and Jacinto are the ones to find unconscious Mar. No calling an ambulance and stabilizing her neck., Juan lifts her in his arms to bring her to the hospital.
* Let's see if I get Ofelia's story right, since we've been waiting with baited breath for 80+ episodes.

When my parents sold me to your father my only solace was id get to move to the city. But that was worse. Your father only wanted to use me for his perversions. I don't want to remember it all. I was always just merchandise to him. In my darkest hours a tiny spark was born. It was you., then later Mar. I never wanted you to know o what I suffered through. Forgive me. Val says, no you forgive me. Ugly crying.
*Luis tells Cami Hector has found a position in the company for her ( Hector could be her future perhaps). Leo asks what did I miss. Cami says after our talk I asked dad about working in the company. Luis is so happy that they are talking so nicely. Cami has to throw in, that's Because Mar is absent. Leo actually calms the situation. Luis just wants her to treat Mar with respect, so she agrees.
* Val continues to cry. I'm sorry back and forth over and over. Big hug. Thumping at the door. Ofelia answers. It's Susana. O doesn't have time for her. Susana says it's about Mar.
Rocio is arguing with herself ( is she schizophrenic?). I didn't do anything. She fell on her own. But if something happens to the baby it's divine justice. A son for a son.
*And we are back to hospital scenes... everyone converges to see how Mar is. O begs Luis to get her the best treatment. Cami and Juan look uncomfortably at each other as Leo rubs her shoulders. Mar and baby are not doing well....looks like they are rushing her to surgery.
* And we aren't through with Priscilla. Arturo is giving her the sales reports at her house. She is impressed, they make a good team. Kiss... Arturo stops her. I'm hoping to get Val back. But she cheated on you with Nick. No, things aren't quite like that. Nick loves her too but kept silent. I'm hoping she chooses me. Priscilla cant believe it (nor i).
* The placenta separated. We delivered the baby, a girl. Mar has lost a lot of blood. Both are in intensive care. O nearly passes out. Luis and Juan catch her before she joins Mar in a hospital bed by falling on the floor with a concussion.

 

PAPAS #77 Part 1

Previously: From a botched phone call put on speaker for all to hear, Chano is revealed as the father of Fed’s baby. A heartbroken Lichita tells Chofis and Checo but then banishes Chano, telling him to leave the house.

Tino angrily confronts Fer about not only lying about being the father of her child, but for her reprehensible treatment of Emi. Feeling cornered (as Tino has her dead to rights), she downs some liquid of unknown origin and is rushed to the hospital.

Facundo intends to take Scarlet to Monterey with him but when a video of him tampering with the car breaks that resulted in Uli’s accident surfaces, he admits it but thought Tino would be driving the car. He manages to flee.

Chano arrives at the hospital; all of a sudden Fed seems to pass out, her head lolling to the side. Chano runs for help.

Chofis is accosted by Guzmán lying in wait as she leaves school. He congratulates her for keeping quiet. All of a sudden Lichita appears around the corner just as he grabs Chofis by her hurt arm!

Dámaso (whom we learn has been accused of sexual assault) flourishes a huge diamond ring. Aidé smiles and glows until they are alone; then her demeanor radically changes. She holds up an envelope as Dámaso visibly cringes. With a piercing stare, she says you! You are the father of my children…

Dámaso tries to tell Aidé she is confused. There is a quick succession of scenes; the first two are recent, the two of them talking and another as they stroll in the park. The third flashback is one of Aidé talking with a man and woman whom I do not recall. Then she seems to read online comments where I believe Dámaso is accused of sexual assault. Aidé demands he not manipulate her; she know he is the father of her children. She recalls thinking she sees Tino the night of the fiesta but it is Dámaso. She calls him “Tino” but it isn’t. Then we see her back on that fateful night when he starts kissing her and she calls out for Tino. Finally, the recent night when Aidé was lying on the bed with Dámaso as he kissed her back. We now see that when she turned around and saw his face, she recalled seeing the same, younger face the night of the fiesta. It was at that moment the truth was revealed to her. She demands to know what his plan is. He hems and haws as Tino comes in adding fuel to the fire.

We next see Lichita and Chofis at home. Next we see what happened after Lichita saw her daughter with Guzmán. She only sees them for a few seconds as a bus obliterates her view. After it passes, he is gone. She asks Chofis what happened.

Nutty Rosalinda and Rudolf talk when Clara Luz comes home. Rosalinda looks at him expectantly.

PAPAS #77 Part 2

Aidé tells Dámaso there will be consequences. The next flashback shows Dámaso (the night of the fiesta) fondling Aidé’s leg as he creepily starts kissing her as she murmurs Tino. We then see him leaving, pulling his hoodie up. In the present, he seems to argue she is confusing Tino for him.

The kids are at breakfast and start arguing when Damaris comes up. She tells them she is Dámaso’s sister as Circe and Uli exchange looks.

Chofis is avoiding Lichita’s questions about Guzmán as Lichita begs her to confide in her; I am your mother she cries. This is too much and Chofis collapses in the chair crying as though her heart is breaking. I’m not quite sure what she tells Lichita who texts Chano.

Clara Luz thanks Rosalinda and Rosalinda says something about respecting the process, right Rudolf?

Tino tells Dámaso the children are his (of the mind and heart) as Dámaso tells him to be quiet. Circe and Uli enter at this most inauspicious moment as Aidé puts her arms around them and says this is your biological father. They stare, no doubt in shock trying to process…

Guzmán visits Fed and takes the tray from the nurse making a motion to feed her which Fed resists with disgust. He rubs it in that she is totally alone. Then he brings in El Calacas who looks a bit sheepish.

Dámaso tries to tell the children his side of the story. They don’t want to hear it, Circe seemingly accusing him of taking advantage of her mother. When he says he is their father, Uli answers by saying no, Tino is our father. He apologizes to the children as Aidé turns and tries to lead them out. They end up staying… Dámaso seems to be furious that he has been accused of sexual misconduct. Damaris comes in as he is screaming. Astonished, Damaris asks Circe, is he your father? Damaris is upset but he screams at her to shut up. Aide tells Dámaso he is alone. Damaris says something I couldn’t follow but it seems very damning, please fill in. Aidé chastises him for all his victims. Tino leads Damaris out of the room as Dámaso stands alone, screaming.

Rudolf and Clara Luz are sitting on the bed, she is stroking his arm as he looks sad. What is it she asks? He quickly gets up and walks away, remembering Rosalinda’s threats.

In Fed’s hospital room, Guzmán puts El Calacas’ hood up saying something about Chano (I think).

Chano brings sweet Chuchito home as Luchita blows her youngest kisses.

Las hijas #81 part 2
*Jacinto tell Juan we should leave and give the family space. Juan of course wants to remain to make sure Mar is ok. But Jacinto prevails. He bids o and Val farewell, uncomfortable look again at Cami and they walk away. Cami rushes after them. I guess her redemption will be complete. Jacinto leaves Juan and Cami alone . She tells him he deserves to know that the baby is his, my dad only married Mar to protect her and their has been nothing (physical) between them. Juan can't believe it. Small smile. He goes back. My daughter? he tells Val. Why didn't you tell me. Because it was Mar's place, not mine. Cami rubs his shoulder and says your daughter will be ok. He gives her a hug. I'm ok with this, I never disliked Cami that much.
*O tries to get in to see Mar but is stopped by a nurse. Crying and supplication to God ensues as she drops to her knees again. I guess the skinned knees have healed. I haven't seen bandages on them.
* Nick arrives at the hospital. Val cries what if she dies. Nick calmly tells her have hope. Don't think the worst . Have faith I'm here with you. Hugs ..enter Arturo. Val says thanks him for coming. She lost a lot of blood, and you are her type. He of course will help. He also tells her to have faith. Everything will be ok. Hug for him.
* Mar opens her eyes. A Dr walks in. My baby? Your daughter is in intensive care because she is premature. Mar wants to see her.
* Nick brings Val a cup of coffee. Seconds later Arturo comes in with a salad or something. I know you haven't eaten anything. They are both sticking around to support her. Ok , they have the show sister wives ( which I've never seen), this is shaping up to be brother husbands!
*Jacinto and Susana are at home. Why isn't Juan back. Is he making up with Cami she asks excitedly. Then she trash talks Mar as usual. Jacinto tells her to let it go. Polite knock on the door. It's Ofelia. Mar has a baby girl she needs prayer's. Susana couldn't care less after what Mar did to Juan. This baby is your granddaughter...
* Great conversation between Juan and Luis. They mend fences. Juan and his family brought about a great change in Cami for the better. Juan says thanks for caring for Mar and baby. I'll work double to care for my family. Luis tells him the best thing he can do is not work to death to make money, but to be present for his family. Their happiness is in being with you. Don't make the same mistake I did.
* Juan visits his bouncing (7 pound plus) baby girl in the nursery and promises her everything will be ok.
* Susana, Jacinto and O return to the hospital to see Juan. Looks like happy families amongst them now as the grandmothers claim ' our nieta'
* Mar, on her feet, visits her daughter....

* Val can't believe O told Susana. With age comes wisdom...I promised the virgin I would swallow my pride if she saved my granddaughter. Besides, she is her other grandma and even if we are very different she also is a good mother. The Dr comes out to say the family can see Mar. Who is first. O says me . Starts walking then rethinks it and tells Juan, you go. But tell her I am outside and live her.
*Leo visits Paula. I did it for love. Don't leave me here, blah blah blah...
* Juan and Mar resolve all their problems as their song plays....
* I gave up everything for you Leo. My career...he laughs in her face. Talk all you want to the press, I'm never coming back to you.
* O visits Mar. All is resolved between them also, since there is only one more episode....I even apologized to Susana. Mar can't believe it.
*Arturo, Cami and Luis talk at home about Juan, Mar and baby. Luis is proud of Cami. She says I have new priorities now ( work?). Luis has a contract with Mar to help with the baby as needed. Both children are ok with that.
* Final scene, Val, Juan, O Susana and Jacinto stare at baby girl through the nursery window. Jacinto gives his advice to the previous earring faction. O Susana are in agreement and will be best buddies for ever more because they share this precious granddaughter...

The end.

I guess Monday the Rocio story will be resolved, and which of the brothers Val chooses. I personally like whose ever idea it was for her to run off to Italy and become a more famous model...

PAPAS #77 Part 3

Lichita and Chano sit down to discuss Chofis. He gets a call and rather apologetically tells her it’s Fed. Lichita tells him to go ahead and take it. He asks Fed if she is all right. Fed tells him to do something (airport?) and he says at this hour?

El Calacas comes in to retrieve his keys and Fed asks him to sit down. She flirts with him and he laps it up. She flatters him and the fool really thinks she finds him irresistible. She asks for his cell and types in her number. They make a few puckering motions as I throw up in my mouth a bit. “Guapo” she says. It’s obvious she wants information on Guzmán.

Chofis is lying on her bed burning up, murmuring in her sleep. Lichita comes in, feels her forehead and runs out.

Bertha makes an announcement about her and Augusto. Next, I believe Aidé has found an apartment which she describes. Everyone is silently shocked.

Guzmán goes to see Checo just as Lichita calls him about Chofis. He explains to Guzmán he has to leave but Guzmán goes with him.

Uli and Chofis make a video and sob as Lila surprises them.

An astonished Lichita asks Guzmán what he is doing there when he and Checo rush in. Checo picks up his sister as they prepare to go to the hospital.

As Clara Luz tries to get cozy with Rudolf in bed, she kisses him but he gets up, a vision of Rosalinda’s threat dancing in his head. What is it, tell me she asks.

Lichita makes a video saying this isn’t easy and talks about problems.

PAPAS #77 Part 4 of 4

In the dark, Circe, Uli, Lila, Scarlet and Emi strategize, trying to formulate a plan to get Tino and Aidé back together. When Aidé and Tino come back into the room, the kids hand each a phone.

Clara Luz tries to talk with Rudolf. When she puts her hands on his face he takes them off; I think he says they should separate.

Guzmán talks to Lichita. Did you hurt my daughter? Yes or no. Lichita is in Guzmán’s face as he looks around furtively then shoves her up against the wall of the waiting room. Whatever he says is clearly a threat.

Aidé texts Tino about Fed’s pregnancy, finding out about Facundo (I don’t think she says anything about Dámaso). He texts back that she is a wonderful woman. Por favor she says. Tino puts the phone down. He holds out his hand and she takes it. He writes on his hand and asks her if she wants to marry him. Si she answers. He holds her tightly and they kiss.

I inadvertently deleted my Part 3 ☹ (you can tell it’s Friday) and needed to stay up and watch the later viewing. This was fast and furious. There was much that I did not understand. Also, I took quite a few liberties with what I wrote, I know not everything is right but I hope I got the gist of at least some of it. Thank you for your kind and insightful comments. I am so grateful.

Talk about a rush ending!
Yesterday both Mar and Val hated Ofelia (like they do every other 20 episodes), but now everything is forgotten (because, as you said, Kat, we don't have time for more quarells). I don't get how being abused by her husband gives Ofelia the right to abuse her daughters (even if it's not the same type of abuse).

Camila of all people telling Juan the truth is kind of nice and a good redemption for her, I guess. Again, not enough time for more.

Val having the luxury of choosing between the brothers... I don't like it. Art has been a pig more than once, but if I were him, I'd never go for this, Id' still be hurt with the betrayal. Nick is another story, he's been in love for a million years, he's in the weak position, so all he can do is wait and hope.
Val still considering Art an option also boggles the mind. How many times has he proven not to be reliable?

I have already mentioned how I HATE it when they do these multiple endings. For me this means that they can't stand by their story until the end. Filming three endings so not even the actors know? What is the point, they all have contracts, nobody will spoil it to the fans. Airing one ending and then getting to see the others online? Again, what a cop-out!
I've watched many shows where I loathed the ending (How I met your mother or Game of thrones come to mind), but at least they had a vision and had the guts to stand by it.
I've seen all three endings and seeing three different ways to finish the story gives me no closure.
Maybe you can all sense that I'm very p!ssed right now. LOL

Rant over! Whar are we watching next?

PS: Kat, I'm looking forward to your recap of the finale. If you'de like, I can add the other two endings after and then we can all debate which one we hate the most. Hahaha
I also have some notes on the original Turkish story, that I've been dying to share but some of them would have been big spoilers.

Diana, I can't believe you can type these without tape delay. Are you a court stenographer in real life?!!! If my daughter ever dumps YouTube TV I'd be lost and I would probably try to convince my husband we need it for ourselves. We have gone without cable 20 + years on my suggestion. Now I'm making up for lost viewing time.

So does anyone know what the significance of the letters he wrote on Aide's finger were. Perhaps they were their initials? I didn't take note of them as I figured it was going to be the starting letters of an acronym like will you marry me or something.

So Dameso was one of the horrible kids to aide back in the day. Makes you wonder if besides being drunk he perhaps had slipped her something in a drink.

Good for Circe putting forward the PSA about it never being ok to take advantage of a girl when she is drunk and incapable of making a valid choice. I'm surprised the fans hadn't bashed Dameso sooner. He thinks because he is in the number 2 spot viewfam needs him. Aide points out he is a detriment to the platform and he's out of there. He sure was cruel to his sister. He kicks her out of his house. I expected her to be at Tino's place in the dinner scene. She will be a good consolation prize to the twins as a new aunt.

Adriana, yes the other two endings synopsis would be great. I'm not vested enough to hunt them out and I agree, the writers keeping the options open is a cop out. I will be totally upset if she chooses Arturo, though it looks like in the next to last episode all Luis' kids have learned their lesson. Arturo want a total jerk for a change. Oh and the playing happy families between Ofelia and Susana is just a bit implausible. I wanted their hate backstory, I was actually vested in that feud.

I've seen two Turkish TNs. It's a bit disconcerting watching them dubbed as I realize I do some lip reading along with CC reading. Is the Turkish language also one of the languages that you know, Adriana?

One more to go. It's been fun.

*After the heckler is shut up y Luci defending Pato and the fact he was drugged at the bar, Enrique runs with it asking how many families have been affected by drugs and forcing the heckler to leave by the crowd supporters. A few of the audience leaves, but most stay as the chant Ferrer, our future president. Luci sits down and wonders what have I done?
* Natalia has been given a roof over her head by Manalo. He says before you call me a good Samaritan, I plan to work you all hours to solve this case. She has no problem with that. I guess Manalo has rented a place as she asks what about me (or him) using Fabiola's apartment.
*Francisco and Enrique are pleased at how Luci diffused the situation. Francisco thinks she should join the team. She coldly informs them I'm not interested.
*Pato talks with Luci. It's weird my mom didn't go to the pro family rally. I found an earring in dad's office but it wasn't hers. Do you know something. She tries to say it's not her secret to tell, but he says your my sister. She confirms he had an affair but it's over now. With whom. Karina. It's not over, she's the fixer on my barroom escapade.
*Victoria looks like she is sleeping with the devil. Poor girl. She suggests to Joachin it's time to make their Republic. He refuses, don't be dramatic. She's off to work.
* Mariana has bruises on her arm. Mateo notices and asks who did it, she says memo but then backtracks. Mateo rushes into Memo's room where he is also a mass of bruises from his beating. He is his obnoxious self to his parents. He leaves and Mateo and Mariana argue about his upbringing, how Mateo was not allowed to parent because of her father.
*Alex father and she are packing food for Daniels family. Rebecca comes in. Dad says haven't you told her about Daniel. Rebecca says if course not, she knows I detest him, unlike that sweet Adrien. Alex informs dad,didn't mom tell you, Ines paid off all your debts? He does not look pleased. They argue about it. We are paying it off ASAP and our daughter is not for sale ( what a great dad). Alex is off to the hospital, the baby is coming.
* At the hospital it has been determined early delivery is best for mom. The baby may have lifelong difficulties though being extremely premature. Omar says baby will be fine I've prayed for a miracle.
* Joachin arrives at work. Victoria who arrived earlier, puts a tracker in his car.
*Manalo and Natalia are on a stakeout. Some blonde, Josephina, leaves and apartment or hotel. Someone is cheating but not sure who yet. They follow her in their car as she walks away.
FF has a staff meeting. I appreciate all the work you all put into the Fabiola case. It's being transferred to the police department. They need all the case files. Joachin acts offended after all the work he has put into it. FF says I appreciate your job.
*They need to have some fake preemie babies in these shows. Elena is visiting the newborn. Your dad would want to take you in his arms. I promise to let you know all about him.
*Enrique and Ines bicker without looking at each other ( this is fun to watch, especially since they are married in real life, I wonder how their marriage functioned in this show). The bickering becomes a raging row when Pato arrives and calls them out on their hypocrisy. The perfect marriage just so you win an election. I'm going to tell the truth. That shuts them up.

Kat, I honestly don't know where I would be now if you hadn't offered your help. I'll say again that your language skills are superb and your generosity is so very appreciated. Your comments are so enlightening!

I am a pretty fast typist but get what I do through sheer determination as I try and "read" the characters. I love the details: scenery, nuances, fashion that I just do not have time to look at as I can barely capture the essentials.

I did not know Damaris said "twin" sister; that more fully explain Circe and Uli's "knowing" look.

So the fact Guzman wants Chano out of town makes me extremely frightened as to what else he has in store for Chofis and Lichita!

Aide is smart wanting to move away until Calacas is caught or ceases to be no more.

So Dam is now gone for good! He got off much too lightly...

I loved your take on Damaris: "I expected her to be at Tino's place in the dinner scene. She will be a good consolation prize to the twins as a new aunt".

Juegos #38 2/2

Joachin is at the hostel. He is spinning a yarn about working on the CC case because of his esteem for Luci. That is why he doesn't date, he is in love with her( she recalls Roberto telling her he is dating Victoria). She plays along with him.
*Ines blows up at Pato. She is sure he found out about Karina through Luci.
*Memo meets Adrian in a bathroom at the college. He gives him some drugs. I need money to shut the two guys up that made Fabiola's phone and backpack disappear. They want cash get it from your parents some how. Adrian refuses the drugs because he wants Alex back.
*Alex brought the food to the hospital. Elena rushes out, baby opened his eyes, he looks just like Toby. Daniel and she go back to see baby. Omar questions Alex about her relationship with Daniel. Why did you drop the son of a millionaire for him. Because I love him. He mentions her bedside vigil after the ACCIDENT and she gets very fidgety he says Daniel would never be able to forgive the former girlfriend of his brother's killer. She runs off.
*Francisco visits Enrique at campaign headquarters, or Francisco's office, not sure which. They need to discuss Erik Zapeta.
*Manalo calls FF about Josefina. Is she a bank robber, credit card thief? No idea. A guy brings him a ballistic report about a robbery I think. It was a 32 ( same make as Omar's missing pistol perhaps). No, Omar's was a 38.
* Francisco tells Enrique thanks to him Berta has transferred the Fabiola case to local police where they will only hit dead ends. It's time to put the salsa case to bed also. Erik Zapeta’s body will e discovered just before his last debate.
*Daniel asks Omar what did you say to Alex to dive her off. Nothing. But you two are like oil and water. It's best you concentrate on your studies. About that....
* Francisco seems to be threatening both Karina and Enrique. You are on this campaign only as long as you are useful. Otherwise...pretty sure he threatened her with something.
Luci and Natalia meet . Natalia fills her in on the CC case and how Joachin is sabotaging it. Look, he has the burned files in his locker. But he told me he returned them. He's doing that to win points with you. The two agree to be honest with each other.
Alex is cutting veggies and relives the accident and starts crying. Dad comes in and asks what's the matter. Is the baby ok. She says I just wanted to be happy with Daniel but it will never be possible. We killed his brother. Dad hugs her as she bawls.
* Roberto gets some photos of Josefina and some guy I don't recognize. Luci shows up at his office. She believes him.

Thanks Kat, sensational recap of the penultimate episode!! We are getting the too neat and tide rushed bow tied on this, but I enjoy reading every word from your perspective!!!

I agree that we got robbed of the back story between O and Susana!!! I don't like this rushed we are all family now ending - because I don't think they deserve to be let off the hook... BUT if you are going to redeem them, at least tell us what all the drama was about!!!!! GRR!!!

I suppose Cami can be redeemed. I don't hate her either, but I would have liked to see her show some genuine repentance toward Mar - instead of just grudging acceptance.

Adriana, I vote yes on: ' I can add the other two endings after and then we can all debate which one we hate the most. Hahaha
I also have some notes on the original Turkish story, that I've been dying to share but some of them would have been big spoilers.!' I'm assuming one ending she picks Nic, one she picks Art and one she pics none of the above, but I suppose it could be a different combination.

Rocio needs to go to jail or a mental ward!!! What she did to Graciela might have been an accident but what she did to Mar was not!!!

As for what to watch next that's going to be TBD for me for a bit. I am taking a much-needed vacation in a couple weeks and leaving town for a whole month!!! Don't want to start anything new until I get back.

I think it's a Turkish show that's replacing Hijas but I can't remember the name of it. I have watched a couple of Turkish TNs and although I agree that the dubbing can be challenging, Que Culpa Tiene Fatmagul is one of the best televisions shows I've ever seen in any language! It was definitely worth dealing with dubbing, it's on Vix.

Thanks so much Kat, your recap was fantastic. Several upsetting things in this. Rocio basically just pushing Mar down for no reason, except her anger at Ofelia and Val. Although no real reason for that anger either. Then saying, “ a son for a son”. No remorse. She is mentally ill.

Susana refusing to pray for Mar and the baby! An innocent baby and she’s not willing to pray for her, until she finds out it’s her nieta! She does not deserve to be the grandmother. Although at least she did tell Ofelia that Mar was in the hospital.

Very awkward moments when both Arturo and Nick are at the hospital trying to comfort Val. I don’t see how she can be with one brother unless the other brother is far away.

We’ve seen no hint of evil in Luis. I feel like Rocio is the mother to one of them, probably Nick, but Luis has him for a good reason. Guess we’ll have to wait until Monday.

Adrianna, I’d love to hear the different endings after we see what the writers chose. This is only the second show I’ve seen where we don’t know who the main character will end up with. The other one was el Amor Invencible, where Cantù was really evil.

Kat, thank you for your phenomenal recap. There was a dizzying array of events but you managed to capture it all perfectly.

I hadn't realized Rocio told Mar "her baby doesn't deserve to live!" as well as "...divine justice. A son for a son". How utterly heartless. Rocio is infirm and I feel sorry for whichever son is hers, if indeed that is the case.

Nor did I understand "Mar has a baby girl she needs prayer's. Susana couldn't care less after what Mar did to Juan". Susana has been horrendous throughout. And now she gets to be the doting grandmother? Foul I say sourly. After I saw her and Ofelia holding hands, I ran to my window to see the flying pigs.

I did love much in the episode. The healthy baby girl being born, Juan learning the truth, he and Luis having a calm, reasonable conversation and the mending of fences between Ofelia and her girls.

It would nice to see Mar and Juan's wedding. Will Luis give the bride away??

You and Adriana have done a spectacular job with this TN, I thank you both.

Thanks so much Diana. I’m always amazed that you do this as you watch the show. When I recapped Juana I would stop the show, go back over a scene more than once and still miss stuff. I wish I could do it like you do!

I thought Lichita would be attacking Guzman at the beginning of the show. It was disappointing to see that Chofis was alone when Luchita got to her.

Damaso’s excuses were very confusing. He seemed to have a new excuse everytime Aide responded to him. Poor Damaris, I guess she didn’t know her twin very well.

I wonder why Guzman brought El Calacas to the hospital. I thought he and Fed already new each other but
I guess not.

Rudolf needs to tell Clara Luz about Rosalinda. Then they need to report her to wherever you report crooked lawyers and get a new one.

There’s a lot to resolve in the next few days.

Thanks Kat, that was a great recap. When Luciana sat down and listened to Enrique, after the heckler left, I couldn’t figure out her expression. I thought maybe she was realizing Enrique was not who she thought he was. Or the whole campaign is a lie. But I guess it’s too early for that and the “what have I done makes sense.

Alex has a great dad, I loved when he said, “my daughter is not for sale”. But now he knows the truth. This is scary, too many people know. Not much of a secret.

I’m glad Victoria is investigating Joachim. Pretty soon it will be hard for her to hide her disgust for him.

It sounds like maybe Omar didn’t kill Erik. If he had to be shot, he must not have him dead after hitting his head.

Francisco was scary. He seemed to say to Karena he would make her hurt by hurting what was most dear to her. I’m not sure of that, but I felt he was threatening to harm her daughter.

Two babies last night. That was nice, both looking healthy.

I, was Erik shot? I missed that, but if so it certainly does put Omar out of the running. Of course if they used his gun that was left at the scene, it would be hard to disprove he shot him. I guess it depends where and how Erik's body reappears. Currently I think he is at the morgue on ice as an unidentified victim.

Francisco is definitely a dangerous man. Did he tell the two to put an end to their relationship? I was a bit lost in that conversation. I just noticed how neither Karina nor Enrique would look at each other. Similar to the fight between Ines and Enrique where they spoke to the camera rather than face to face. Did you recognize the guy in the photo with Josephina or is this some new tangent they are introducing. Perhaps it is someone from the bank and the CC case.

I bet a native Spanish speaker would get a lot more of this mystery than I i can figure out.

I was glad to see Adrian refuse the drugs. He almost spilled the beans to Luci.

Gracias, amigas, for so superbly steering this wild ride. We knew there had to be at least one more scare before the end.

Mar is still stupidly naive. She had to know that Rocio is seriously unhinged. She should not forget that. Monday she should tell someone what Rocio said as she pushed her. I think that Rocio's solo rant was her rehearsal of what she would try to tell police. We were not presented with any proof that she killed Graciela so where are the cameras when we need them? This area didn't look like there were any.

Paula, au contraire, is where she needs to be. She is pure, unadulterated evil and Leo got that proof in this episode. In front of witnesses. Bien hecho!

At last Valeria and Mar know the ugly truth about their parents. However, Ofelia still seems oblivious to the fact that she treated Mar like merchandise.

I know I'm on information overload but I'm quite certain El Calacas and Fed had indeed met before and had some type of bad bizness relationship.

To be honest, I understood none of Dam's arguments. All I got was his indignation.

Good point about Rudolf telling Clara Luz what is going on. Is Rosalinda the only one capable of defending Clara Luz? She is dangerous and nutty as a fruitcake to boot :)

I think Susannah and Ofelia's battle has been over Ofelia's snobbery over all those years. Ofelia thought she was too good for the 'hood and she never hesitated to say so. That gets old quickly and intolerable follows that.

Prissy continues to disgust.

Finally, while the wardrobe department did a great job on this, why on earth did Mar never wear sensible shoes once she knew she was pregnant?

Francisco was especially nasty in this episode.

Francisco first tells Enrique that he is returning to his office to basically keep his eye on him to make sure that Enrique doesn’t do anything else stupid. He informs Enrique that if he had just let him know about Karina he would have helped him to keep it a secret so he could have looked like the perfect husband in front of his wife (Francisco’s own daughter!!!!)

Later Francisco dresses down and threatens Karina in the most crude way possible as Enrique witnesses it all but is too cowered to defend her. He tells Karina that the only reason she is there is because of her contribution to the campaign and what she knows about the Saldaña case. She warns him not to threaten her. He can’t do that. He disagrees reminding her on how far his connections go. Then it gets disgusting. He looks at her face and says that he wants to concentrate on her intelligence but ——He looks her down but not up—- he doesn’t know if she thinks with her head or her crotch like his son-in-law does. He directs her to stay out of his daughter’s way because if she causes him only one more problem he will make her pay where he knows it will hurt her the most and she will end up being sorry she was ever born. He also advises her to beg God that once the campaign is over, he still finds her useful. He ends by telling her to get out of the office.

Kat, I have to admit that was one of the crudest scenes I have ever seen in a novela. I had to replay it not believing I had heard or seen what I had. Enrique was like a little boy so ashamed by not being able to defend Karina from Francisco, he had to turn away. What an excellent scene!

I do not think that Enrique is a bad man as his father-in-law is. I see him as an average, shallow, not-too-smart guy of the philandering kind which seems to be as common as unexpected pregnancies in these novelas. He has allowed himself to be his father-in-law’s puppet in his desire for power and its rewards. I do not see a good end for him,

Memo needs more than a beat down. His mother needs to throw him out of the house and quit making excuses for his abusive behavior. I couldn’t believe her wishy washy reaction to Memo’s threatening behavior. Her husband was right but now he needs to step up and take control.
