A.MAR Capítulo 20 Parte 1 Notes from the Couch . . .

Yazmín the Addict

The episode starts out with Yazmín desperate for her drugs on the phone with Javier who tells her that he cannot do more for her right now because he can't get caught by using his father's prescription pad. She asks him not to send any more pills via Erika because she ends up making her do things in exchange for the pills. She wabts him to come to town and bring them himself. He says that is not possible right now. He will be in touch. He has to hang up now to go take a test. She doesn't know that his "test" is having sex with another girl.

Yazmín knows what she has to do and goes to see Estrella in person. She tells her to stay away from her father because she doesn't want to have problems with Erika because of her. Estrella is confused as to who wants her to do what but offers her friendship to Yazmín.

Yazmín goes to see Erika announcing that she has spoken to Estrella and told her that she wanted her to stay away from her dad. She wants the pills that Javier gave her. Erika gives her the pills and Yazmín complains that there are not more. Erika tells her that is all she has and she will have to deal with it.

Estrella tells Fabián about his daughter's visit telling her to stay away from him. He looks surprised and concerned.

Brisa the Bruiser

Brisa comes back to Erika's restaurant to attack her again. This time she wants her life long friend Erika to fire her as retribution. Erika refuses to do so and Gabriel conveniently appears to guide her out of the restaurant. Brisa begs him again to take her back but he refuses to do so.

After finding out that Rosalba says she was with her father Ulises when he had his heart attack, Brisa tracks her down to Erika's restaurant to find out for herself what happened to he father. Rosalba make it clear that she doesn't owe her or her sisters any explanation. It would be better if Meche came to see her herself. Brisa reaches across the table and roughly grabs her arm. Erika swoops in to help her mother. Brisa announces to everyone that Rosalba
was with her father when he had his heart attack. Her father is dead because of her.

Everything Else

Azul tells her mother about how confused she is about her feelings for her father after tearing his photo on the cover of the magazine in two. She wishes she never had met him. Now she wants to know more about him even though she feels like she never wants to see him again.

Fabián tries to make a connection with his daughter by showing her a fishing pole that she had used when they used to go out fishing together. She is positively affected by her memories but is quick to tell him that was all before the accident where he killed her mother. Later, where Fabián tracks her down at Erika's, she again rejects him in public reminding him how he ruined her life.
 

A.MAR Parte 2

Iker asks his father if now he is going to make Marina his novia. Gabriel explains that you don't merely replace novias that way. Now the only other person he is concerned about his pirate Iker.

Iker wants to take a photo of the mermaid drawing by Marina's mother and post it online in order to see if anyone might recognize it. Gabriel helps him and they discover the artist's name on the back of the drawing. The mermaid's mother's name is Paloma.

Outside the church, Meche sees that Gonzalo is using the spirit of the Mass to his advantage inviting her to supper at his house because they just were told to love your neighbor as yourself. She accepts the invitation but only as "friends."
They have a good supper and find out they have more in common as widow/widower than she had thought. He is willing to move ahead and have another love in the sunset of his life. She isn't too sure she is ready for that.

Before Meche is going to leave for dinner, Perla is going to tell her what Rosalba told her. Not wanting to ruin Meche's evening, the daughters put off telling her until the next day.

Rosalba tells Porfirio what she has been up to with Meche and her daughters. He is not pleased because he feels that she has put them at risk. She says if he had given her her cut of the money, she would have been long gone by now. He says that is not happening because they cannot bring any attention to themselves. She warns him if she doesn't give her the money she is due the next day, he will sorry.

Brisa the Bruiser: Brisa comes back to Erika's restaurant attack MARINA again.

Juegos #62 part 1

Francisco is stabilized and taken to the hospital. He had a heart attack and needs an angioplasty. Ines went with him in the ambulance after visiting with Adrian in jail. Adrian is continuing to insist he pay for his crimes. Ines tells him dad will pardon him after he is elected.

Memo, with German coaching him, sticks to the script that Francisco decided everything.

Mariana goes to the hospital. Enrique is there in the waiting room awaiting word on Francisco. She tells Enrique that Memo is his son. The history comes out that they had an affair while Ines was suffering from post partum depression. Francisco wanted her to get an abortion. I stead Mateo was a quicky wedding and no one suspected he wasn't Mamis father. The premature baby story worked.

So Francisco is being totally thrown under the bus, not that he doesn't deserve it. Enrique plans to use his arrest to his benefit by saying nobody is above the law, not even my father in law.

Elena calls Luci. She found the hard drive.

When memo was arrested the reporters hounded him at the police station. Fabiola sees the news and says Memo over and over. Her dad comforts her.

Pato tells his dad he is dissallussioned with Enrique.

Edgar, the guy who works for the other campaign, visits Karina. He offers her money for something, probably turning on Enrique and saying he had knowledge of the Saldana death. The money would let her run off with Gaby.
 

Juegos #62 part 2

Pato gives it good to Enrique. It's your fault Adrian became addicted to drugs.Enrique tries to justify things and says Francisco was behind it all, but Pato calls him a liar and doesn't believe him.

German comes out of the jail and Mariana asks where is Memo. German thinks he may be released tomorrow. He tells Mariana not to depend on Enrique, he could care less about memo. Mariana sets him straight, memo is more important to him than ever.

Enrique is getting through to Pato about his non involvement with the capital crecient case. He says he will make sure all the ill gotten gains from the Fevarre company is paid back to the defrauded investors.

Luci, Natalia and Victoria give their statements.

Pato visits Adrian in the detainment cell. He tells him he is proud of him for telling the truth. A guard comes. They are transferring Adrian to the prison.

Luci sees Adrian before he is taken away. Adrian asks her to help Alex.

Jarifa, I thoroughly enjoyed your clever and witty recap, perfectly organized; thank you for your sharp and insightful insight.

Loved "Brisa the Bruiser!!" Brisa herself? Not so much. Her angry, public bullying of Marina is getting completely out of hand. I shook my head when she asked Gabriel to take her back; she refuses to accept his decision and seems to think she can will him to change his mind with tearful recriminations.

There were a few touching moments. Little Azul ripping up Sergio's picture, tears staining her cheeks over her hurt and confusion. I also felt for Yaz as she held the fishing pole which stirred happy memories as much as she wanted to deny them. She quickly buried those feelings as she snapped at Fabian for the rest of the episode.

"Iker asks his father if now he is going to make Marina his novia. Gabriel explains that you don't merely replace novias that way". I liked his response and glad Gabriel is thinking things through rather than rushing into a relationship with Marina althoughIker wouldn't mind in the least would she??

I loved the plate of gerber daisies Gonzalo put together for Meche at the dinner.

Karsu

This was great fun! The guys somehow left their incendiary device at the fire. How on earth can the police track a thing like that? And yet they seemed to think that it was exactly the kind used by a certain mafioso, namely our clan. Now the older henchman has to go into hiding. I’m confused about why, and who is the mafioso the police named? Atilla’s father? Atilla himself?

The mother/daughter reconciliation was lovely, as was Karsu cuddling in bed with her kids.

Looks like Filiz now is the condo head. She has firm opinions about the office’s décor and no clue about bookkeeping – too funny! But she did give Lale a lesson and a firm no about helping to get Karsu to go back with Reha. All of this was so well written. Filiz is coming through like a champ.

Why is Imek wearing heels on the dock? You could get a heel stuck between the boards. Always fashionable, I guess. It will be interesting to see if she’s able to get the reconciliation she wants.

Oh, this is going to be juicy! Lale all aflutter about the now-steely but still gentlemanly Atilla, who it seems is using his actual first name while hiding out. Or is he? Is it a cover name? And he gives her a ride to the exact condo complex where he is living. I loved Lale saying it was so far out of town it seems like a place somebody would go to hide. Well, he can’t go home, so it’s off to the warehouse. Can somebody explain the last bit, where Atilla is giving instructions? Is Cedvet supposed to go get his clothes? All his clothes or just his schlumpy writer ones? And that comment You know what’ll do with all your books – did Atilla mean that Cedvet should clear them out, or was it a threat that if things don’t go right, no more books for Cedvet?

Thanks, Diana. Yes, those gerber daisies were such a beautiful touch. I, also, liked that answer Gabriel gave Iker about novias. Brisa is truly something else. Unbelievable!
 

Karsu

Yes, Maggie, a comedy of errors in the mafiosa. Honest business man Reha swears he runs a clean company. It would be funny if he actually was involved with the Mafia.

Poor Karsu loses her job because the store is closing. Her boss is going home to his village to live on his pension. So if Atilla really wanted to help Karsu he should find an honest job for her somewhere. I don't understand how Karsu has less likelihood of keeping her children if she is unemployed. Reha needs to pay child support and alimony.

I'm not sure what is going on at the warehouse. The older henchman is being reassigned for some reason. I guess his cover was blown. He is being replaced by a doppelganger , I can't tell these guys apart. Atilla did threaten to take away Cevdet's books. Poor Atilla, he finds a place in the outskirts of the city with an older landlady with no family (I guess the aunt and niece don't count), in his alter ego he does business with Lale who just happens to be the sister in law to Karsu. Cevdet noted this was even too fantastical for a novel. I think Atilla is going with Lale to Germany or somewhere to see how the fair works. I'm not sure if he sent the plans from the tablet anywhere. He was acting technologically incompetent to her.

This show never spoon feeds information. It makes it very interesting and mysterious.

Thanks, Jarifa, Great recap. Meche should be made aware of how Brisa is acting toward Marina. Gabriel had a lucky escape! She would have made his life miserable.

Rosalba is a fool. If I were the girls I’d report that she spent the money their father “borrowed” and it’s her responsibility to pay it back. I wonder how Erika is going to react to the news. But I guess she doesn’t realize her mother murdered Estrella’s father. I’m hoping between seeing how Brisa has been acting, and now her mother, Erika might reform. But I doubt it.

I can’t believe that no one notices that Yazmin has a drug problem.

Thanks Kat, that was great. I was sure Francisco had died. Enrique in the waiting room with the pills was chilling. Will finding out Memo was his son change his opinion of him? I doubt it.

Now the good guys have the missing tape, or whatever it was. But there are plenty of bad guys still around. I did like that Enrique wouldn’t let his guy go after Luciana. So he is capable of love. But I wonder if Inez ever had feelings for Luciana or if she always just tolerated her. Now she hates her. And no love between the sisters either.

Hoping that Daniel will be able to forgive Alex. But pleased Adrian is showing concern for her. Too bad they can’t use true remorse to let Alex and Adrian go and send Memo to jail.

It’s in it’s last chapters, according to my tv! Memo did torture and kill Luciana’s dog, also went after Fabiola. I hope they find that secret draw of his and throw the book at him.

I was so impressed with the beautiful scenes of reconciliation and Denis saying Mama.

I’m not sure what business Atilla is doing with Lale, but what a blunder to not realize she was Karsu’s sister-in- law. And if he’s a business man I feel he should have gone after Reha’s business. Surely the Mafia has a way to ruin the business without burning it down. I really don’t understand what business he’s in. Or if it’s legitimate!

I wonder how Atilla will stay in his house. He’ll have to avoid Karsu’s house. And even the neighborhood.

Liz, I was hoping the same thing about the police finding Memo's secret drawer. Does an arrest warrant also justify a search warrant? I doubt Enrique will warm to Memo. He isn't terribly fond of Adrian. Pato and Luci are the favored son and daughter. No, Ines never cared for Luci. She resented her for being alive while her own daughter was dead.

Mariana has had such an awful life with a father that only tolerated her while perfect Ines was the child who could never do a wrong. I hope Francisco lives, death is too easy and out for him.

I don't think I mentioned much about the other candidate sending the guy ( forgot his name, Memo's cousin I think, though now we know he really isn't related by blood) to try and get Karina to go work for them and disclose all the skeletons in Enrique and family's closet. I guess they need to use any ammunition and means at their disposal. I'm glad we are in ultima semanas. I think I saw there are 72 episodes.

Steve, Memo isn't going after Fabiola currently. He did that early on. Hoping he is in jail for the duration.

Steve, all Yazmín cares about is getting high and finding more drugs so she never has to come down.

Liz, if these characters would just do something logical! I still cannot believe they put off telling Meche about Rosalba as to not spoil her evening. Really? Anyway, I also agree on why nobody is noticing that Yazmín doesn't look right or act right most of the time. Could we be lucky enough for her to disappear on her 18th birthday? It is coming up soon if I remember correctly.

A.MAR #21 Parte 1 Notes from the couch . . . the "a little of this and that in no particular order" edition

Fabián finds out from Estrella about Yazmín's visit to her house . They conclude it must have been Erika who told Yazmín they were interested in each other. Fabián is angry with Erika's meddling and how it is affecting his relationship with his daughter. Estrella makes it clear that at the present time, she can only offer Fabián her friendship. Too much is going on in her own life. They later text about how hard it is to be parents.

After the mess she causes at the restaurant with Rosalba, Brisa goes to Gabriel's house for a shoulder to cry on only to find Marina there. She throws another jealous fit. She tells Marina to go back from where she came. She is sure that one day, Gabriel will be begging her on his knees to take him back.

Azul has decided to write a letter to her father to make herself feel better. Estrella supports her. She writes him an email and is disappointed that he doesn't answer her right away. The next morning he reads it.
"She doesn't know what to call him . . she would like to get to know him better . . . it doesn't matter if he doesn't love her . . . her mother says he is not a bad person. He just made a mistake. Her granny says everyone makes mistakes when she does bad things without wanting to. So, she forgives him for everything. She hopes he answers her. It is signed : his daughterAZUL" Smiling his smarmy smile, he concludes that everything is going to be easier than he anticipated but first he needs proof that Azul is his daughter.

Yazmín only has three months until she turns 18. When Oliver seems too intense, she tells him she already has a novio. He says then he has three months to change her mind. They both laugh.

Yazmín is still being bratty with her father. She doesn't need him or anyone. He is the one who caused her mother's and grandmother's deaths. Sometimes she feels like dying so she canbe near her mother.

Back at the restaurant, Rosalba tells Brisa all about her affair with her father and his falling ill in the hotel room and how she didn't know what to do. He died in her arms and kisses. Brisa calls her a murderer. Erika is shocked by it all.
Later when confronted by her daughter Erika about not even calling an ambulance for Uliises, Rosalba says he was already dead and she didn't want everyone to know what was going on and to protect Erika. She had given him mouth to mouth and pounded a little on his chest. Erika tells her she wants her out of her life for good. Rosaura says she has one last transaction to take care of the next morning and then she will be gone.

Pascual stops by to see how Brisa is doing after having heard the gossip about Rosalba and her father. She is sure Rosalba has the missing money hidden somewhere. He offers her his unconditional support. When he gets too close, Perla makes sure he knows that her heart belongs to another.

Marina is grateful to Iker and Gabriel for finding the name of her mother.

SURPRISE: The next morning, Brisa decides that she is done crying and is ready to go fishing with her sisters. (I don't believe it)
 

A.MAR Parte 2

Rosalba takes the pills she stole from Erika's purse, smashes them and dissolves them in Porfirio's hot coffee. She thinks that should be enough to put a mule to sleep. She tells Porfirio she is leaving and wants her money. He takes a drink of the coffee and says he is not interested in doing that because he doesn't trust her and doesn't not want to end up in jail. He quickly feels dizzy, He asks Rosalba what she did to him. She helps him lie down on the couch where he quickly loses consciousness. Having remembered the combination to the safe, she opens it and cleans out all the money laughing all the way claiming who laughs last, laughs best. She leaves.

Fabián tells Erika off about interfering with his parenting of his daughter. She is using his daughter to manipulate him and to cause problems with the woman he loves. Erika throws another jealous fit. He tells her that he will fight for Estrella and how strongly he feels for her. He tells Erika that he was always honest with her. She disagrees. Supposedly, he couldn't get serious because of the situation with his daughter's custody but that didn't seem to get in the way with his feelings for Estrella. He tells her that Estrella understands a part of him that Erika never did. He is a FATHER. He admits that he always cared for Erika but never really was in love with her. She slaps him.

Meche tells Estrella, Perla and Brisa that she had a good time with Gustavo AS FRIENDS. The sisters then have tell Meche about Rosalba being their father's lover. She doesn't want to know but they insist. Once she finds out it was Rosalba, she wants to know every detail.

Fabián and Gabriel realize they are in the same situation. They both have exes who are relentless in wanting to hang on to them and they both have their hearts already won by other women. They agree that they have to go with what their hearts feel. It is always worthwhile fighting for love. They both have to smile.

I absolutely loved that scene with Fabiana andGabriel talking about their love lives. They both have cute smiles.

Rosalba always makes me laugh. I hope she didn't kill Porfirio.

The scene with Sergilo reading poor Aul's letter was creepy.
 

Juegos #63 part 1

Enrique tries to convince Luci he had no knowledge of the capital crecient fraud. Salvador as his best friend. He loves her so much ( this was rather creepy, though he did qualify it by saying when he adopted her she became his daughter). She cuts all ties with him and calls him señor Ferrer as she leaves.

Pato offers Roberto help in finding the laundered money at the company he is managing.

Alex dad has it out with Rebecca. He wants a divorce. He can't believe she wanted to sell her daughter to the Ferrer family. I'm glad. He deserves a better partner

Fabiola is taking her shoes out of the closet one at a time and throwing them. Dad is concerned and tries to get her to stop. We of course remember she hid the USB or a hard drive in a shoe way back when. Manalo asks Natalia to try and reason with her.

Ines wants Enrique to get her son out of jail stat. Meanwhile Enrique is putting German on the case to get Memo released immediately.

Mariana informs Ines she found a button belonging to Ines at Leo's, covered in blood. She is going to keep that button as a guarantee against Ines.

Luci brings Alex her favorite chocolates. Adrian asked her to care for Alex. Alex realizes he never stopped loving her and feels bad. Luci says you can't be blamed for falling in love with Daniel. She misses that their destiny changed in an instant when they made their bad decisions. as she tells this we see Adrian checking into the prison.

Fabiola was looking for pink tennis shoes. Since she had so many shoes Natalia had put them in a different closet. She gives them to Fabiola who takes them, then says Memo and throws them. She then grabs one and searches the sole, as Natalia does the same and discovers the USB .

Karina is talking to someone in a coffee shop. I think he must be one of Enrique's guys, but not sure. Karina looks at her phone, but not sure what she sees. A payment maybe?
 

Juegos #63 part 2

Alex asks Luci to do her a favor. Not for herself, but for her friend Clara. She is being sexually abused by Mateo, Memo's dad. Mateo meanwhile is threatening Clara who is hiding out in her house in baggy sweats. You're mine. I'll kill you, are not really a great way to win someone over.

The USB is the car accident. Victoria and Roberto are at Manalo's house viewing it. They then view the missing #3 hard drive. Roberto thanks them but it's now time for the police to handle it. Natalia says no way. They trashed my apartment, my job, I lost my family, this story is mine.

Karina was playing a double game. The first guy she spoke with was one of Enrique's guys. She recorded the conversation and is now peddling it to the other guy from the competition.

Poor Adrian is getting a shake down in jail. One guy has a boom box and ties the power cord around his leg. Why? I don't know.


Luci visits Clara. Mateo is outside her house in his convertible asleep.

Luci gets her side of the story and convinced her to press charges. The police wake Mateo from his sleep and arrest him, though he claims it was consensual.

Ines is demanding to see Adrian but she has no authority at the jail.

Mateo is visited by Mariana. He wants her to get German to defend him. She takes great joy in refuse to help him. German is taking care of my son, and I think she tells him he's not the dad.

Adrian is sleeping on the floor in the jail having a nightmare. The other inmates beat him up. Next day he is in the infirmary, looks like he is detoxing along with recovering from the beating. Luci comes to see him and she asked what happened. He said I refused drugs from them (I thought it was the other way around and he was trying to get drugs from them in the earlier scene). Adrian wanted Luci to be proud of him.

Turns out Adrian didn't want to see Mama. She is arguing with Enrique about it. German and the other guy that works for the campaign rush in. Pato is giving a press conference with Roberto. Pato as CEO is going to discover the truth about the Capital Creciente money and whether they were used to form the Fevarre company.

Jarifa, thank you for bringing all of tonight's events so vividly to life. You captured the vast array of emotional tensions and turmoil perfectly. Excellent as always.

Brisa "...is sure that one day, Gabriel will be begging her on his knees to take him back" and her boardering on hateful treatment of Marina is uncomfortably similar to Erika's abusive treatment of Estrella along with her tearful, stubborn refusal to accept Fabian's decision he does not love her. How much more forceful can his rejection be??

Gonzalo and Meche seem very well matched; I have no doubt he will win her over with his quiet charm which Fabian also seems to eminate. Fabian doesn't fall far from the tree does he? That little smile he has is very appealing.

"Sometimes she feels like dying so she can be near her mother". I hope Yaz gets the counseling she so desperately needs. She and Oliver are a great match.

Watching Rosalba salivating over and practically kissing her cash had me smiling away. She is quite the character! I did see Porfirio's chest rising a bit when he was sitting on the couch as she was berating him. A badly timed breath or an indication he is still alive, I cannot say!

Jarifa, I also loved the Fabian and Gabriel scene! Such hawtness tinged with sensitive natures was irresistable. Both have beautiful smiles. Sigh...

Another great episode made even better by your excellent narration Jarifa. Thank you!

Jarifa, I'm still here and even managed to watch this episode at the aired time.

Pretty sure Porofino is just asleep. When Jaz needed her pills from Erika it was the green ones she was after to help her sleep. He was given 2 so probably will sleep a bit longer. I noticed Ros used knuckles to punch in the code. At first I thought to minimize fingerprints, not that the theft will be reported. Then she grabbed the dial to open it so I guess she has talons for fingernails.

Meche wore such a pretty yellow shirt the previous episode. That color did more for her than the denim blue dress. I noticed her hair tie matched Gonzales shirt.

To add to the similarities in the relationships that don't work, Ros and her obsession with Meche's dead husband should be noted. Like mother like daughter. I wonder if ros and he also dated before Meche came along. Otherwise her obsession with him is bizarre.

I just can't get into this show. Glad you are doing the recaps jarifa. I'd be going bonkers.
 

Karsu

It's like Atilla read my mind! He's creating a job for Karsu in a small bookstore nearby that needs a manager. Now to get his guys Cevdet and the other guys brother whose name I don't know (who may not actually be his brother if it's just there way of referencing a cohort/friend like bro is used here), to find the perfect location for the bookstore. Seems like money is no object.

I noticed Atilla is back home so I guess the warehouse was just a place to hide while Lale was visiting Karsu.

Ipek sabotaged her mother setting up that coffee date. I guess her mom is independently (somewhat) wealthy too as neither of them work. Irmak did have a point that Karsu and Feliz reconciled, why couldn't that be me. The difference is that Karsu was the one needing to forgive. Feliz obviously misses her daughter and tries to discover if her doctor is treating her.

Perhaps I'll write more later. Gotta get to my babysitting duties. Maggie, you always give insightful comments.

Kat – I agree that it’s great fun that we’re given information crumb by crumb. Monday’s show let us know why they picked that particular place for Atilla to live, apparently because it’s in a nondescript suburb (I bet far outside of town) and because they thought neighbor (landlord?) Filiz lived alone.

I also like that we don’t know how this is going to turn out, which makes the crumbs tastier. The Mexican telenovelas show us in the title sequence who is going to end up with whom. We just enjoy the ride, knowing full well where we’re going. But in this show we’re dying to know how it turns out.

What I’ve wondered is how do the henchmen enter unnoticed? Is there a back door? They’d have to go by the guard out front.

Liz – I think Reha’s business is something to do with textiles, but I’m not sure why I think so.

On to Tuesday’s episode. Another crumb is left for us. Now Karsu is saying Reha was insulting and abusive, I think mentally, not physically. That adds to the picture! Fabulous acting on the part of the Lale actress in this scene where she tries to get Karsu to reconsider and then realizes she’s not going to be able to sway her. I love the nuanced multi-layered writing – Lale and Karsu are not in conflict but seemingly not close either. Lale is pleading her brother’s case knowing, but not saying, he’s actually a jerk. The two make their points without drama (and thank goodness no melodrama), and Lale gives up. They part very politely but not warmly, apparently without animosity.

I really enjoyed Lale’s conversation with her brother too. He certainly managed to compliment himself. What an ego! I gather the incendiary device is actually manufactured by the mafia family, so they’re not thinking it was necessarily the mafia who did the burning. Did Reha say one of his supervisors went missing? He decides he’s so upstanding that the mafia wouldn’t be interested in him or his business.

I don’t enjoy the new older henchman as much. Why did our previous guy absent himself? I liked him better. I wonder how they’re going to rent a place and install a book shop within a few days. The two fellows making big eyes at each other when Atilla peeked out the shade at Karsu was a hoot, and then their peeking out at him talking to her by the pool!

It was touching that while Karsu doesn’t want to see her sister again, you can tell Filiz misses her daughter terribly.

Thanks Jarifa, you continue to give us excellent recaps. I think Rosalba took more than her share of the money. Porfirio’s in a tough spot. He probably can’t report the money as stolen since he stole it.

I hope the Brisa we saw towards the end stays with us. I was tired of the yelling, name calling jealous shrew we’ve had to put up with. I doubt Gabriel would ever be on his knees wanting him back.

I know Yazmin’s a teenager but at almost 18 she’s almost an adult. She needs to think about how she’s treating her dad. I hope her grandmother didn’t tell her that Fabian murdered her mother. Someone needs to sit her down and tell her the facts.

I was hoping from Sergio’s smile as he read the email that he was warming to Azul. But apparently he’s still thinking of getting control of his father’s company. I wonder if he can pull off a doting father act. Azul is pretty smart but she could be fooled because she wants him to be that way.

Looking forward to finding out what Porfirio will do.

I agree it is a textile plant. When they discussed torching it someone commented that the fabric, cotton, textiles can't remember which word was used, would burn quickly . I'm thinking the other guy may have left a fingerprint on the incendiary device, thus his reassignment.

One way Cevdet has been arriving is via motorbike I think posing as a delivery driver. There is a back way in somewhere, perhaps over a fence. Atilla used it the night he was almost caught in his mafia look.

Poor Lale falls for a guy who goes radio silent. I don't dislike her character. Now if only she truly realizes what a jerk Reha is and actually helps Karsu.

I don't like Reha, but I do kinda get where he is coming from. I'm thinking Karsu was emotionally (and probably physically) unavailable to him while Deniz was lost. He has happier memories from the time before the youngest was born. In the first episode I had the impression neither he nor Felix thought she should have had a 3rd child. So he wants that life back. To his credit, so far there has only been one more encounter with Hande (the best friend, not sure I've got the name right). Does anyone else have a grouchy husband if they don't get "it" enough?

Maggie, good point about us not knowing where this is heading. I do think it's running until September though because I've looked into it.

Yeah, Reha had a semi-absent wife, but It’s hard to find anything to like about the guy because his stated concept of a wife is a breeder and a child caretaker. And the person who runs the home. He doesn’t seem to miss Karsu herself, just the kids and her work around the house.

Thanks Kat, great recap of a fast paced episode. Things are falling in place for the good guys. But if Memo gets out of jail I feel chaos will follow. I’m not sure why Enrique is helping get Memo released. I know he said something about it, just don’t know what.

Rebecca is one strange mother. She seems to be blaming Alex for her not being close to the future president and his family. I’m glad the dad is divorcing her. I figure when all the bad guys are in jail she’ll realize she was on the wrong side.

Fabiola looking through her shows was a great scene. I remembered she hid the USB but guess I thought Memo had gotten it. I knew the missing hard drive had been found but somehow didn’t realize they were viewing that too.I hope Natalia and Mánalo get to do an exclusive on all this mess and become sought after investigative reporters.

I didn’t know who Karina was talking to, and didn’t realize it was two different guys. Not surprised that she’s double crossing her lover!

I hope not. She adds a good dose of goofy incredulity to the story. As for Fabián and Gabriel " Such hawtness tinged with sensitive natures was irresistable." You can say that again! Best friends in basically the same situation.

At first I thought to minimize fingerprints, not that the theft will be reported. Then she grabbed the dial to open it so I guess she has talons for fingernails." I have known women with nails like that.Yes, they use their knuckles where a simple finger would do. LOL About not being able to get into this novela, we all have different tastes. For example, I cannot stand the Turkish novelas like Karsu. Can't like everything. I am enjoying this one because I do not have to think too hard and do not have to be glued to every scene.

Personally, I think that Fabián should stop trying so hard no matter how painful that is for him. She is going to need a good time in rehab before she can see reality for what it was and is. Thanks, Kat, for the recap. I had a chance last night to watch most of the episode. Enrique sure has turned out to be a chip off of the old father-in-law block.I bet if Francisco were conscious and knew of Enrique's withholding his meds, he probably would be proud of him on some level. Enrique keeps playing with the pill bottle and taking it in and out of his pocket. How long until somebody finds those pills? He should have gotten rid of the bottle by now. He could have crushed it and flushed it.

Ok as I have mentioned before, I have no affection for any of these interbred yokels. I am amused by Enrique's plug and play inability to keep it in his pants. However what I find most unbelievable is the leading Presidental candidate never leaving Mexico City. And all his crazy relatives being thrown into the general prison population. Seriously never would happen. Once again I am not against a small dirty bomb. Get servants out but otherwise... except somehow I know Enrique and his spunk would still survive.

Anonymous, I'm surprised you stuck with it. I guess it's like a train wreck, you just can't look away. It would have been more plausible if Enrique were running for Mayor, that would explain not leaving town. Actually Ines was at some other town with one of her women's luncheons 2 episodes back.

What an episode. The last part was so enjoyable. Atilla and his book loving mafia guy opening a bookstore and hiring Karsu. Was smiling through the whole scene. Have no idea how much money she’ll be paid but apparently it’s quite a lot.

But earlier we see that they definitely are not good guys. Atilla stood there while they beat and tortured one of his men that had been stealing money and arms and selling them. Atilla walked away before they shot the guy. I thought he looked a little sorry, but maybe not.

Meanwhile, I think he would have gladly tortured, beaten and shot Reha. That guy banged on the door like a crazy man and got crazier when he entered. Was great to see Deniz try and protect Atilla.

Karsu’s sister seems to be planning something, with the help of her husband. What she did was horrible but I do feel sorry for her. I hope she can mend things with her family, although it seems unlikely.

Liz...I must totally agree. It was a great episode. At this point Reha is so awful (although he learned it from his own Pa), so I am willing to forgive the whole Mafia thing.

I don't get the whole sister wanting to come back. I mean I get it..but your step dad. And he is the love of her life. I demand the deets on this. Personally the guy creeps me out. I want sister to meet Dennis's sailor dad and fall in love with him. The boat would be a bit of a stepdown. Remorse is necessary. Then Karsu can have Atilla.

Maggie, I also smiled through a lot of the Mafia guy scenes, except the torture/killing of course. I especially liked the planning of the bookstore. Cevdet thinks an Internet cafe bookstore would be a good business model (I agree).

Feliz does have good child raising advice. Karsu should listen to her. She is giving in to every demand Deniz makes. And she doesn't correct sulky Tilsim when she needs an attitude adjustment.

I'm off in the realms of fantasy wondering if Irmak wants to hire her sister or cousin as a surrogate.

We learned that Reha's dad was abusive too. Reha is turning into his father. I'm tired of his tirades.

I expected the court appearance in this episode. I thought she had a noon appointment. Feliz was shocked and happy that Karsu trusts her to fetch the kids

Yeah, not sure how much the salary is, and she also gets taxi fare to and from. She is pretty gullible. I think quite a few red flags have been raised about the new job but she is oblivious.
 

Karsu, oh, that should have been Luz I referenced. I'm used to Maggie getting in first on this I didn't even double check. Who is anonymous? I like the way you think about Irmak. I have always been skeezed out about the stepdad relationship.

Things have been very busy for me, and I have barely been able to keep up with my three stories. The summaries and comments are always helpful.

I love the idea of Irmak getting Karsu to be a surrogate, Kat. Even if the writers don’t go that route, it’s a worthy story line.

Atilla is very different in his two identities. I didn’t like the torture, but he does seem to hand out justice to deserving culprits. In this case, it was a traitor. I tried to read Atilla’s expression. He looked fatigued. He is used to this dark work, but perhaps there is a sadness knowing Karsu would never understand.

The bookstore was fun! Cevdet really had trouble keeping the story straight! I like Cevdet, in spite of his other line of work. It makes me ponder how people get sucked into this kind of work. Probably loyalty to a friend or family member until it becomes a normal occupation for them. In a perfect world, these guys would find a good life, but they are committing murder, even if it’s for traitors.

I think Reha and Lale will soon find the coincidence of the name Atilla, and everything will change. I agree that they should have used different names. Cevdet is doing this, too. Atilla is so sad and numb to his violent life, but he loves Deniz and Karzu and Filiz, who have brought him genuine affection. Watching Deniz protecting his loved ones was very moving.

Babachita, I understand the challenge of keeping up with 3 (4 Now for me, it was 5 until last week). I agree the recaps help tremendously. I watch a few distractedly, I am also trying to keep up with garden harvesting that I do in the evenings when it is a bit cooler. And I try to get 15 or more minutes of Duolingo in so I maximize my points, lol). By having them saved I can shorten each show by 20 minutes though since I can FF through commercials.

This is only my second Turkish TN with a Mafia flare. I did watch Todo por mi Hija on my own last year before I discovered this blog. I have hopes Atilla and company will be redeemed on the end, but that murder we didn't witness will be hard to forgive. This show is def out of the ordinary for me.

Wasn’t this a fabulous episode? I loved Reha thinking he was scaring a little kitty cat, not knowing it was a saber-toothed tiger. Great scene! Oh and before that, when Reha was pounding on the door, there was Attila obviously worried who it was and he had no way to grab a gun.

And the book store interview! Cedvet dressed in a style he thought just right for a bookstore guy, effusively friendly and sunny. Maybe that would be his actual self if he gave up mafia work. And Attila having to endure hugs and kisses from him. What a hoot! I think Cedvet is going to be in heaven in the book store.

I’m wondering – if Istanbul is a mafia town, shouldn’t it catch Karsu’s attention that Cedvet said the store has few clients? And apparently very high pay – why? Suspiciously like a front for a crime organization.

It’s nice how Karsu is softening towards her mother, not getting mad about everything she says. And now she’s letting her pick up the kids!

There’s Imek standing out on her deck, again in heels even though she’s at home, and what’s with the miniskirt if it’s so cold out?

I loved the final scene where Karsu and Attila both say they’re glad they have each other in their lives. And then a final shot of Attila smiling to himself. Nice!

Another cute scene was when Feliz sister ( anyone know her name) was complaining about a headache and blamed it on the food she ate at the coffee shop or something. Feliz said you only ever eat carbs, what are you moaning about. Then later Feliz absent mindedly grabs some snacks, popcorn maybe, then says what am I doing no carbs I'll turn into my sister. Karsu tells her to live a little, it won't kill you as Tslsin smiles at the remark.
