OT....life got very busy, so I haven't had time to drop by the patio to keep up with the recaps and comments . The water tank leaked and flooded my downstairs ( utillity room , powder room , laundry room , family room in March . My good friend ( the local fire chief ) got here five minutes after I called him . The local plumber whose dad put in the water tank in 2000 was here in half an hour with a new tank . Then my friend called his friend who works for a company That does clean up after water and fire damage . Two guys came speedy quick to carry out water soaked items and set up dehumidifiers . The tile and carpet over the cement floor had to be removed and replaced with new flooring Everyone I met from.this company was wonderful , and I have good insurance , but there was a lot of red tape , and it Has been a stressful time . Finally , last week , I had five huge guys carry my furniture back into the family room from the garage . Then , the very efficient woman who wrapped up and boxed all my photos and knick knacks helped me unwrap everything and put it away. She was amazing .
Meanwhile, our family had a graduation, dance recital, and birthday celebration ..
Hopefully, I can get back here soon.. The only show I've been watching is Velvet. I am up early and stay up late every night . So many people have been in and out of the house . They just took away the dumpster and portapotty .

Juegos #64 highlight edition.
Adrian only gets a couple of days reprieve in the infirmary before he is sent back to the cells. Once again the inmates attack him but this time he has a savior, thanks to Enrique. Joachin, now an inmate,manages to take on 3 of them. Adrian and he talk after and Joachin says he did it for Luci whom he loves.
Berta has a brother in the insane asylum I think and she wants protection for him and she will talk. But she is double crossing Roberto with Enrique and is merely buying time. If Enrique wins then if course he pardons everyone.
Ines loses the support of some women's lobby, but then regains it with a promise of favors after the election. I'm sensing a theme here.
Karina visits Gaby at Robertocs but she wants nothing to do with her, she is a liar and she hates mom. After she leaves Luci counsels her on choosing love over hate. Gaby says I'm choosing to think of you as my mother.
Ines has told Enrique that Mariana knows she killed Leo. Enrique of course is on that fire by seducing her and promises to free Memo.
Daniel deletes all the photos of Alex from his phone
Clara visits Alex in jail. They are friends again.
Paul is back! Pato is thrilled to see him.

A.MAR Capítulo 22 Parte 1 Notes from the Couch . . .
The Search for Paloma
Iker tells Azul that he thinks he saw the name of "Paloma "on something but cannot remember where. He also tells Azul that even though her father hasn't answered her letter yet, she is lucky to have a father to write to. His mother is dead and her ashes are in the sea. Azul suggests that he write her a letter telling everything he wants to tell her, put it in a bottle and throw it into the sea. He decides to do that.
Brisa comes by the restaurant where Gabriel is going to talk to Marina. Brisa makes a big deal apologizing for how she behaved before. Gabriel assures her that he will always be there as a friend for her. He doesn't want her to be confused by how he feels. When she knows that Marina is watching them, she grabs him and kisses him good and hard. When he complains, she informs him that she is not confused and will NEVER stop loving him. She kisses him on the cheek as a final show of defiance before running off.
Gabriel explains the situation with Brisa again to Marina. She tells him no worries because she is not jealous. He is disappointed that she isn't at least a tiny bit jealous. He tries to kiss her but it isn't happening. He takes Marina to the city to ask around if anyone knows of an artist by the name of Paloma. They are not successful. Gabriel tells Marina that he only wants to make her happy. They need to enjoy the here and now not knowing what the future will bring. They finally kiss.

Meche's Journey

Then he met Meche and cast her aside to marry Meche. It broke her heart but as the years went by he regretted his marriage and came back to her. They became lovers and she patiently waited until he was ready to leave Meche but then he died. Meche might have been Mrs. Contreras but she was his one true love. Meche is left destroyed.
Meche goes home and takes off her wedding ring and puts it in a drawer. She tells her daughters that she has cried her last tear. Before they know it, she has invited Gonzalo over for dinner.

A.MAR Parte 2
Party Time!
Pascual is upset that Perla has not taken any notice of him. He is at a loss. Valentín has a plan. He tells Pascual that he needs to ignore Perla and the best way to do that is to have a party that very afternoon. When Perla and Brisa arrive, Valentín makes sure that Pascual is kept busy dancing with another girl. He dances with Brisa and Perla is left bored on her own watching Pascual. She finally grabs her sister and they leave. Pascual tells Valentín that his plan didn't work.
The Dinner
Gonzalo shows up for dinner with a bouquet of flowers for Meche. Little does anyone know but Fabián has decided to come along uninvited with his dad.He brings "the woman who steals his sleep" a single rose. She smiles. They chat.
Gonzalo and Meche agree that Estrella and Fabián are clearly interested in each other and could end up being a good match. They agree that parents always want the best for their children. He adds that he taught his son to be loyal, honest and a protector. He is also a very good father. If they end up together, Fabián will protect her daughter with his own life.
No Invitation for You
Earlier, Yazmín has called her father tolet him know that after school she will be going to do school work at a friend's house. He is not to expect her home for supper. She hangs up quickly which bothers Fabián. He tells his father he is worried about her and how she is acting. Gonzalo says to give her time to adjust to all of the changes that happened in her life.
Little do they know that Yazmín is entertaining her novio in her bedroom. Oliver doesn't know that either when he stops by to invite her to Valrentín's party. Javier appears and is upset when he finds out the invitation was only for his novia and not for him. Yazmín tries to calm him down and Oliver leaves.
Rosalba is Going on the Lam
Rosalba is getting ready to skip town and is making reservations for a package deal on a flight and hotel room (price doesn't matter)in Cabo San Lucas. Teresita tells Erika that her mother is packing up. . Erika goes to see Rosalba and exchange some final insults. They end up arguing and fighting for control of the bag where Rosalba has all of the money. In the melée, the bag opens and money falls off. Erika knows that this is the money that Ulises borrowed from the union. She wants to take it all to Fabián and gain some points so she can get on his good side. She tells Rosalba she could end up in jail. Rosalba says the same could happen to her. She saved one of those packets of pills that Erika has been giving to Fabián's daughter. She has proof that she is giving the girl drugs. Rosalba asks if now she would she like her to go in peace or be destroyed. Erika chooses to let her go and never wants to see her again.
In the mean time, Porfirio regains consciousness and has realized that Rosalbla cleared out all of his cash from the safe.

Oh wow! Why would Adnan throw Irmek out? She’s still beautiful, still looking good in her miniskirt. She hasn’t thrown a temper tantrum. What’s up? No sign of a new lover! Why didn’t the suegra hear any argument? Did he throw her out that quietly? And then later he’s calmly reading a book and just saying she took a trip to London? Say, do you think it’s possible that this whole thing might be a strategy of Irmek’s and he didn’t throw her out?
Why did she land on her mother’s doorstep? Doesn’t she have a credit card? Doesn’t she have any girlfriends? Why doesn’t she take off her stilettos before walking on her mother’s wood floors?
This was a great opportunity to enjoy the Filiz actress’s performance. She’s amazing - I can’t take my eyes off her. She had almost no lines and for the most part just was frozen in place. And yet her part was the most moving. I looked her up and found she had received a ton of awards. And she teaches acting!
Karsu’s argument with her mother about whether her children will be grateful, or whether children are ever grateful, was so well written, with such strong undercurrents but no direct accusations.
What a rough day for Karsu! First she gets a horrible fright that her mother might have lost her kids again, then she finds out Reha’s not going to pay child support because he’s broke, and then her sister appears. And now she’s going to have to actually live with her sister.
I loved the scene where Filiz leaves the door open a crack for Irmek, instead of being totally rejecting like Karsu. Despite the terrible betrayal, she can’t let her daughter sleep on the street. And the scene where Filiz is getting up her nerve to go downstairs for breakfast – terrific.
Why do these people live in glass houses? It’s like being in a fishbowl.
Too bad we didn’t get to see but a few quick glimpses of Attila. Maybe Friday we get to go to the bookstore.

Another stellar outing Jarifa! Loved the epi, loved the recap.
The mother/daughter father/son “dates” in such close proximity was fun. Gonzalo and Fabian have as close a bond as Meche and Estrella. Gonzalo has excellent taste in flowers. While nothing can top gerber daisies, the huge red rose arrangement he gifted Meche was beautiful. Still, the single red rose that Fabian gave Estrella was similarly sweet and touching. "the woman who steals his sleep" was so lovely to hear, one of the many reasons your always important translations are so appreciated!
I swooned during the Gabriel/Marina scene. The first kiss Gabriel gave Marina was slow, sexy and spectacular and just intensified thereafter. Finally, some real, passionate romance. 😊
Brisa just won’t give up!
“Meche is left destroyed” was hard to watch. But that wasn’t the worst, was it? “Rosalba asks if now she would she like her to go in peace or be destroyed. Erika chooses to let her go and never wants to see her again”. One of the most toxic mother/daughter relationships I’ve ever seen. So cruel, sad and upsetting.
I look forward for the search for Paloma and the promise of true love.

If Rosalba spoke part of the truth to Meche regarding her past relationship with Ulisis, the similarity of mother daughter is obvious. Erika is just as fixated on Fabian as Ros was on Ulisis. Erika thinking Estrella would leave town if the debt was repaid is less likely now her tela with Fabian is progressing.
I thought Yazmin was back at the boarding house with her novio since she told Dad she was with a friend. Kudos to her for checking in with him (tongue in cheek). She's learning how to keep Dad off her back. When Oliver showed up at her house she should have just ignored the knocking...

I am back on the blog! I commented either here or on Telemundo that I was sort of hors de combat because my internet was out. Normally this would be fixed lickety split by AT&T, but it went out the day before I had two days away from home most of the day. And I do NOT type comments on my phone. Never picked up the two finger skill (or is it thumbs), and one finger drives me nuts.
So...Wednesday I went to the whale watching trip that was one of my Christmas presents. It didn't happen until June because that's the best season to actually see them. The trip was for two and I invited a friend of mine for many years. We had a great time! And Thursday I had been invited to a S.F. Giants baseball game by another friend. They'd lost two in a row to the Cleveland Guardians until I showed up, the lucky charm according to my buddy.
So they even put in a new modem, saying the old thing was...old.
I am back on the blog! I commented either here or on Telemundo that I was sort of hors de combat because my internet was out. Normally this would be fixed lickety split by AT&T, but it went out the day before I had two days away from home most of the day. And I do NOT type comments on my phone. Never picked up the two finger skill (or is it thumbs), and one finger drives me nuts.

This is by far my favorite TN/dizi. Thanks for your excellent comment, Maggie (more of a mini-recap, actually). Yes, the Filiz actress is stunning. Opening that door but not wanting to face the child who betrayed her in maybe the worst way possible was amazing.
Deniz went right to his auntie and helped with breakfast.
It seems from what I heard and or intuited that Karsu cannot forgive her sister because it put her own life on a bad path. Her mother was neurotic after the betrayal. And, in order to escape her home life, she married a guy she'd live to regret. I can't imagine she ever had a happy marriage with Reha, even before Deniz went missing.
I think Adnan agreed to Irmek pretending he'd thrown her out. He adores her. I'm suspecting one of those dizi flashbacks they're so fond of where she convinces him she needs to mend her fences.
Have they checked Adnan out? From what I've seen the fertility treatments have been for Irmek. Adnan married Filiz with two daughters IIRC. Maybe he's shooting blanks.

Thanks Jarifa, that was excellent. And really appreciated as my neighborhood and surrounding streets lost electricity yesterday afternoon when a bad storm came through. Thanks Jarifa, that was excellent. And really appreciated as my neighborhood and surrounding streets lost electricity yesterday afternoon when a bad storm came through. I lose track of what and when I've commented. You know I really like this show when I have 1/2 to finish watching at 11:15 at night and I decide I'm going to finish it that night. But I'm not going to do a comment on a week night that late since I get up around 6 a.m.
I did some research into the cast as I keep forgetting names. Novelera, was it you that wondered about the actress playing Irmak. Her name is Meriç Aral if you want to look her up. I am a new convert to Dizis so I didn't recognize her shows.
I agree, Adnan did not throw her out. He's helping her reconnect with her family. Still showing up in her stilettos and mini skirt in the dead of winter. Looks like she slept sitting up on the couch.
Deniz is so cute with his wink. Was this the episode where Karsu mentioned that she didn't want Tilsim to fall for the first guy that pays attention to her because that is what happened to Karsu. Also she says if Irmak moves in she's taking her kids and moving out. Good thing she is about to be paid so well, but her built in babysitter won't be there anymore.

Rosalba Gets Going While the Going is Good
Eriks tells Teresita that Rosalba has left with Ulíses's money. Teresita runs out to the street to stop Rosalba and see her arrested. Perla and Brisa join the chase but Rosalba escapes in a taxi as the drugged Porfirio stumbles out into the street calling Rosalba's name. .
Meche gets the news about Rosalba from Perla and Brisa and she, Estrella and their dinner guests go to to see what Erika has to say about her mother's exit. Erika is on her good behavior as she explains her mother's situation with Ulíses, pretending not to want to hurt Meche or his family , as she reveals that Ulíses and her mother Rosalba were together for a long time and that he considered Rosalba as his real wife. The money was for him and Rosalba to start a new life and to leave his family behind.
Fabián says the police can do nothing about Rosalba because they have no proof that she took the money from them. Brisa and Perla are ready to pursue her on the social networks but Meche says NO WAY. She doesn't want any part of that money. It was never for them in the first place.
The Possible but Impossible Love
Gonzalo praises the seafood soup that Meche served. Meche has to be honest and says that Estrella helped her out. Fabián just knew it! Estrella inherited her mother's beauty as well as her cooking talent. Meche notices and asks him if he likes her daughter. He says he doesn't like her but he is in love with her. Both Gonzalo and Meche look on with approval.
Later Fabián tells her that, in a selfish way, he is happy that everything that happened with the money like it did, because she had to return to take care of her family. They both admit that they love each other but Erika continues with her usual "We cannot be together because it would hurt Erika too much" AND she adds because of how his daughter feels. He strongly disagrees. They kiss anyway. Fabián tries to impress on her how scarce finding true love in this life can be and he has no plans on giving her up.
Fabián tells his father what happened with Estrella. His father says "he told him so." Fabián admits it has been a long time since he has felt what he feels.

Javier makes a quick exit and just as quickly Yazmín convinces her grandfather that nothing happened, they were watching moves, and Javier was just leaving. She assures him that Javier is always there for her and treats her with respect. She asks him not to tell her father. They cut the following scene: Gonzalo doesn't have a chance to agree because Fabián has arrived and asks what is it that he is not to be told. Yazmín goes to her room. Gonzalo tells Fabián how he found his daughter and her novio alone at the house when he came home. He says nothing happened and there is nothing to worry about. Fabián is not so easily convinced. Gonzalo tries to down play it all saying that they cannot prohibit her from having her friends over. Fabián doesn't like Javier. Gonzalo reminds him that his daughter does. He thinks that they both should get to know him better. Fabián agrees.
The BFFs Ruse

Things are going well with Marina and Gabriel but Marina wants to know something about Gabriel's past and his late wife. He never talks about her. She doesn't know what the big secret is. He says it is a hard topic for him and asks her to give him some more time.
Gabriel reads Iker's letter in a bottle. Highlights: His mother went to heaven when he was very small and she doesn't know about him so he has written her a list of everything he likes. He loves the sea and everything his father catches except for clams. He doesn't know what she looks like because all of the family photos were lost in a hurricane. He would like to see her face because he doesn't see it when he dreams of her. His father says she was the prettiest woman in the world.
SURPRISE ENDING!
SERGIO arrives at Estrella's while Erika is there. Erika smirks.

OT....life got very busy, so I haven't had time to drop by the patio to keep up with the recaps and comments . The water tank leaked and flooded my downstairs ( utillity room , powder room , laundry room , family room in March . My good friend ( the local fire chief ) got here five minutes after I called him . The local plumber whose dad put in the water tank in 2000 was here in half an hour with a new tank . Then my friend called his friend who works for a company That does clean up after water and fire damage . Two guys came speedy quick to carry out water soaked items and set up dehumidifiers . The tile and carpet over the cement floor had to be removed and replaced with new flooring Everyone I met from.this company was wonderful , and I have good insurance , but there was a lot of red tape , and it Has been a stressful time . Finally , last week , I had five huge guys carry my furniture back into the family room from the garage . Then , the very efficient woman who wrapped up and boxed all my photos and knick knacks helped me unwrap everything and put it away. She was amazing .
Meanwhile, our family had a graduation, dance recital, and birthday celebration ..
Hopefully, I can get back here soon.. The only show I've been watching is Velvet. I am up early and stay up late every night . So many people have been in and out of the house . They just took away the dumpster and portapotty .

Juegos #65 part 1
Well Luci didn't really break up again. She's just overwhelmed because she has now lost her adopted family and she feels alone. Adrian calls from jail. He thanks her for having Joachin protect him. Luci says that getting him into rehab is in the works. Joachin speaks with her and she thanks him for helping Adrian. Roberto raises his eyebrows at hearing Joachin's name but doesn't throw a jealous fit or anything. Gaby can't sleep, she wants Luci to come to her room for a bit, so Luci is gaining a family. In yesterday's episode she told Luci she felt like she was her mother.
The debate goes on. Not sure how the two did. Francisco watches from his hospital room in a tablet which German has brought. Looks like they hope based on his age and health, that he will be sentenced to house arrest.
Enrique has a newish assistant and I finally learned and noted his name. Rodrigo. Enrique is pleased with the job he is doing. He has a look on his face I can't read after receiving the compliment.
Ines and Mariana argue again. I'm amazed they ever faked a happy sisterhood. This is taking place at the news studio. After one insult too many Ines throws a punch at Mariana, but Enrique stops it. He chides her for her actions especially given the location. After St Ines leaves ( Mariana's name for her) Enrique asks her to cool it. She thanks him for expediting Memo's release. As she walks away it's Enrique's turn to have a look 8 can't read. I'm thinking he isn't really trying to get Memo out.
Omar, Elena, Susy and Dani are looking for a place to live. Dani tells them just find a 2 bedroom ( I'm thinking 3 as Mario will need his own room soon) because he wants to have his own place. Someone knocks. It's Clara. She is there to study with Dani.
Luci is concerned about Gaby transferring her affection so quickly and calling her Mama. Roberto points out they have been getting along well for quite a while now. Hopefully they will soon be a family of 3.
Clara thanks Dani for his help and brings up.Alex. he doesn't want to talk about her at all.
Wow, Alex dad is now a maitre de at an upscale restaurant. I didn't recognize him in a nice suit. Alex is free (conditionally )and comes to see him.
They discuss Dani etc.
Chofis is home and back to her old self running her kitchen. Pato and Paul are there with her. They discuss Luci and Roberto. Paul gets an alert his flight is cancelled for storms. He leaves to try and rebook a flight. Now Chofis counsels Pato. He says Paul just came as a friend, he's not sure he wants to restart a relationship with his. Apparently Paul has been getting counseling for his jealousy. Luci arrives home.
Gaby is working on Dad to have Luci stay with them and spend all her time together. And Chofi also can live with them. She wants them to get married already.

Mariana calls Enrique, all coquettish, wanting him at her place celebrating their son's soon to be release. He tells her not tonight.
Memo is out. German muses to Mariana, why is Enrique so concerned for Memo. Is it because he killed Grenas? She says we're family. Mariana is upset Enrique wasn't there when he was released, as is Memo.
Enrique is trying to get Luci to trust him again. Meanwhile looks like Natalia and Manalo are going on the radio, or more likely a type of YouTube, to start their new channel, Conspiranoides. There first guest is Roberto and the topic is the capital crecient case.
Luci tells Enrique she needs space, leave me alone and drives away. Pato comes out of the hostel and sets dad straight on everything he did wrong. He also wants to stay away from dad. He's quitting his job.
Dani runs into Alex at the campus. He hopes there paths don't cross. He walks away. Clara comes up to Alex. What's wrong? He hates me, with good reason.
Meanwhile some classmates start making fun of the jailbird, and possibly Clara too but I'm not sure. Dani hears them and puts a stop to it. (I guess these star crossed lovers may have a happy ending after all.)

I thought "Gabriel's Hidden Past" was spot on. It is odd there didn't seem to be any pictures of Iker's mother about (I believe Marina also mentioned that). Everything being lost in a hurricane sounds grim. Do we know exactly what happened to her other than she died? A death shrouded in mystery (and silence) it seems.
"Brisa tells Perla that they are very different. She fights for what she wants and has not given up on Gabriel yet". Whatever is it going to take? Too bad she hasn't yet seen the electricity Gabriel and Marina generated. Girl doesn't stand a chance!
Another one who should give it up is Pascual who is running home to his mother to get over Perla whom he never had!

Rosalba gets away by the skin of her teeth. She has really devastated Meche with her lies. I can't believe Erika is playing Estella like a fiddle, keeping her "in line" with memories of a long ago, one sided friendship.

I thought "Gabriel's Hidden Past" was spot on. It is odd there didn't seem to be any pictures of Iker's mother about (I believe Marina also mentioned that). Everything being lost in a hurricane sounds grim. Do we know exactly what happened to her other than she died? A death shrouded in mystery (and silence) it seems.
"Brisa tells Perla that they are very different. She fights for what she wants and has not given up on Gabriel yet". Whatever is it going to take? Too bad she hasn't yet seen the electricity Gabriel and Marina generated. Girl doesn't stand a chance!
Another one who should give it up is Pascual who is running home to his mother to get over Perla whom he never had!

I had the last 20 minutes typed up except a few of the scenes, left the page to do my Duolingo lessons, came back and accidentally closed the page. So I need to finish this tomorrow in brief form. My husband needs my help at Habitat For Humanity to supervise a group in the morning so it will likely be done in the afternoon.
The big reveal is Memo learns Enrique is his dad thanks to Mariana telling him he is the only child he can count on.

We got to go to the bookstore! There’s Karsu shelving books. Later on, she says she thinks she’ll organize them by category. So she’s just putting them up willy nilly?
Bummer for Attila when he finds out she’s appalled by the mafia. Big moment for him when she unburdens herself about what her sister did, and he even gets to give her a hug. Will he go straight? He said if you’re born into the mafia you can’t get out. Can he? Will he?
I loved that the guys decided they needed to rent some customers, but not their employees because they looked like murderers on account of their actually being murders. So some temps! Intellectual-looking ones. Ha!
Both Karsu and her mom told Irmek that she has to leave but instead in the afternoon she’s there in the house baking a cake! And we know she has presents for the kids. At least she and her mother exchanged a few words, which I guess is progress.
So Reha thinks that Karsu should come back because that’s her responsibility, and that Lale must support him because she’s his sister. I loved that Lale told Reha he’s a disgusting human being. I don’t think he was listening.
What’s the event the HOA member wants to put on?

I didn’t understand much of what Memo said to Adrian at the jail visit, except he’s very angry with him. Memo is like a time bomb and I expect there’ll be a lot of trouble soon.
Lots of hard to read expressions last night. Is Enrique really preferring Mariana or trying to keep her in line. She’s delusional if she thinks Memo is now the favored son. And she definitely shouldn’t have told him Enrique was his real father. Now Memo is going to expect more from Enrique. And I’m pretty sure mom is the only one that thinks her son is great.
I was surprised Alex was out and dad is a maitre de at a restaurant. I feel like I slept through something important. Did he lose his nice little restaurant, or is this a second job to pay for the lawyer.
Who hired Joachin to protect Adrian. It seems that Roberto and Victoria suspect it’s Berta’s gang, but I could be wrong.
