A.MAR #61 Parte 1 Notes form the Couch . .

The Stupid Is as Stupid Does Club Continues and Gains at Least Another Member
Perla tells Valentín that Pascual is a terrible friend keeping them apart. He makes her apologize for saying that about Pascual .. . and she does (sigh! is stupidity contagious ?) Anyway, she tells him she is going to confront Pascual and he will have to accept their relationship either the easy way or the hard way. When she gets to Pascual's, she finds that he and Brisa have been drinking. What she doesn't know is that they have been trying to drown their heartache and Brisa was just about to give Pascual an example of her kissing skills for his evaluation after moaning about the failure of her romantic endeavors. Pascual is just as stupid as Valentín STILL demanding that he choose between him and Perla. Perla is exasperated telling him on her way
out, that he has turned out to be a manipulator just like his holier than thou mother. (RUN! Perla RUN!!! )

Javier Loses His Power over Yazmín
Finally, Gonzalo allows Javier to examine his ankle. It turns out that he has a sprained ankle. He needs to keep off of it, put ice on it, etc., etc., etc. As Javier goes to leave, he gives Yazmín some anti inflammatories for her grandfather and also has a couple of pills for her. She refuses them. Ding dong! It is Oliver. Javier is his usual insulting self towards him telling him he cannot take his fish smell. Oliver makes a point of telling him that he knows all about Yazmín and her drug use and yes he knows what she did to get the drugs. Yazmín says she told Oliver because she loves him. Oliver accepts her as she is. As Oliver goes on, she asks him to quiet down so her grandfather doesn't hear them. (whoopsie! not good that she brought that up in front of Javier) Javier leaves.

More of Marina's Story
Nico fills Marina in on what happened as Gabriel stands behind her with his hands on her shoulders. They had a small house on the beach. They used to spend every summer there. He had to go outside of Mexico City on business. That was not unusual. She went to stay at the beach house with the baby. Gabriel starts to pace looking very upset. Nico says he started to hear that a level 5 hurricane was headed towards the city where he knew she was staying. There was no time for a warning or an evacuation. It devastated everything in its path. He returned as soon as he could. He then got notification that she was dead. They had identified a body as Antonia Montoya and incinerated the body. He was sent only ashes. It had to be a mistake because she is there and alive. She remembers nothing about the hurricane that took place ten years ago. She tells him that all she knows is that Gabriel found her out at sea a short time ago. She has no idea where she was before that. She asks about their baby. The hurricane razed everything. He looked for their son for years and never found him so he thinks he is most likely dead. Marina breaks out in tears. Nico leaves her his number when she is ready to talk with him. A distraught Marina laments the fact that she had her baby with her and could not protect him.
 

A.MAR Parte 2

NIco is angry with Adriana that she knew Antonia was alive and even met with her but never told him. She says she lied because she was so afraid of losing him. Nico wonders whose ashes are in the family crypt.Adriana refuses to give up on what they built together so easily. Nico says life is giving him a second chance and he is going to take it.

Gabriel brings Fabián up to date on Marina's situation but what he is really concerned about is that Iker could end up being Marina's son. They were both lost on the beach during the same hurricane being only a few months old. Fabián warns him not to say anything to Marina unless he is sure so as not to give her false hope.

Iker tells Marina that he thinks that his parents are looking after her baby in heaven as she is looking after him here on earth.

Brisa doesn't miss her chance to grab Gabriel (literally: he keeps telling her to get her hand off of him)and tells him that she told him that the shipwrecked woman's past could come to find her. He (foolishly) stays and listens to all of her insulting nonsense. She finally finishes and he leaves her grinning like a fool in the street.

Marina calls Nico and comes over with items from her past including photos of her son as an infant and another of the three of them together. They are hopeful something will jog her memory. Sadly, nothing works to connect her with her past.

Fabián Strikes Out Twice
Fabián tries again to get another chance with Estrella. He tells her that he won't give up and will fight for the chance. She looks sad and tired. She explains that something broke in her heart and those wounds last forever. End of conversation!

Fabián and Estrella are pleasantly surprised by the times their testimonials were shared across the social networks. All of the comments are positive. They think that Sergio must be furious.

Later at Fabián's office, Brisa breezes in, per Sergio's instructions, to let Fabián and Estrella know that the rest of Sergio's permits were approved and his company is ready to start doing business. Fabián make a call and finds out that is true. Brisa offers them pamphlets advising them what jobs are available at Alpha Sur. She breezes on to give her sales pitch and pamphlets o the other fishermen.
 

A.MAR Parte 3

Azul Will Be Heard!
Azul is disappointed to hear that her father has gone ahead with opening his business after she asked him not to. She decides to record and post her own testimonial which she does criticizing his policies on the environment and protecting the eco-system.

Azul notices her mother looking sad and tells her that she has something that will make her happy. She shows her what she has posted and how many likes it has.

Sergio is having a press conference to announce the opening of his new company but it seems that the reporters are more interested in what his daughter has posted criticizing his new business. Sergio tries to downplay what he knows nothing about and Juanjo cus the press conference short.

Sergio gets a call in his car from his father who is not pleased that his own granddaughter is dragging their family name through the mud. He is also not happy that Sergio hasn't introduced the girl and her mother to him. Sergio tells him that he will handle it all and not to worry.

Sergio bursts into Estrella's home incensed that she would use their daughter to undercut his business. Azul will not see her mother wrongly blamed. She screams that her mother didn't use her. She asked her father not to build his fishing company but he did it anyway so she recorded and posted the testimonial, not her mother, because she didn't agree with him. It was HER!!! Nobody else!

Jarifa, you crystalized so much that was cloudy and did so splendidly. Your excellent translations added so much to a very emotional episode.

Loved "The Stupid Is as Stupid Does Club Continues and Gains at Least Another Member" which was fabulous! So funny and true!!

"Iker tells Marina that he thinks that his parents are looking after her baby in heaven as she is looking after him here on earth" had my eyes misting. Iker seemed so vulnerable. Watching Nicolas, Marina and Iker looking at the pictures tugged at my heartstrings, especially the picture of the three of them. Marina and Nicolas did seem so happy! The baby was adorable (I wonder if the pictures were actually Sebastian/Iker?)...So much heartache and loss.

"Gabriel brings Fabián up to date on Marina's situation but what he is really concerned about is that Iker could end up being Marina's son". Now Gabriel has his strong suspicions.The flood gates are open, the current swirling and intensifying. I was so relieved that the reason Gabriel didn't say anything was reflected in Fabián's warning "...not to say anything to Marina unless he is sure so as not to give her false hope". That said, the stricken look on Gabriel's face seemed to indicate his heart already knows the truth.

I was happy Sergio's papa isn't pleased about the granddaughter he never met causing such a fuss. Sergio looked really angry as Azul stamped her little feet, having a bit of a tantrum didn't he? Good!

I have family visiting so was happy I was able to watch the late edition tonight. I likely will miss the next two nights so looking forward to reading your sure to be incredible recaps Jarifa! Thank you so much.

Karsu

What’s happened to our show? Seems like we’re suddenly in a sitcom. With sitcom music. Where is the evocative music we had before?

The books lined up in the window as a message seemed ridiculous. And Karsu and Cedvet scurrying away so Atila wouldn’t see them (though he did). Karsu is a very strong woman, who has a lot of dignity and here she is acting like a teenager. The scene last week where she gushed all over the celebrity at Atila’s coffee shop was equally cringe-worthy. Both scenes completely out of character for her. They could show jealousy adult-style, and Karsu could get her message across to Atila in a lovely, adult scene, but no, we have this.

The scene with Hasan and Filiz about honesty and no secrets just didn’t have the excellent writing we’ve become used to, though I did like when he said he wasn’t the sort to hurt people. Ha! They just zipped through that conversation. Also we had Deniz in peril and that went by like a flash too.

So Karsu is acting cartoony and so is Lale. Sigh.

What happened to Kande? How did she get there? How did she get injured? Did I miss something?

I liked that Cedvet said he was going to put the bookstore message up on his social media. A mafia type with social media! Of course that ‘s not a good idea if there are violent people holding grudges, but none of Hasan’s fellows, including Atila, seem very worried about hanging around in public and being very easily found.

What did Atila sign? Is he promising to make that one last shipment?

The heartbreaking Nicolas/Marina/Gabriel triangle was clearly the most riveting event of the evening. But there were other events you described so well Jarifa deserving of comment.

"Brisa was just about to give Pascual an example of her kissing skills for his evaluation after moaning about the failure of her romantic endeavors". If a romance does develop between these impossibly mismatched characters and manages to seem at all convincing, what a literary triumph that will be! :)

Jarifa, "Perla is exasperated telling him on her way out, that he has turned out to be a manipulator just like his holier than thou mother. (RUN! Perla RUN!!! )" was perfect!

Javier needs to slink away like Wormtongue.

Why would Nicolas even consider ever speaking with Adriana again???

Estrella's chill is still glacial.

Karsu

Maggie, yeah, the writing is going downhill a bit. Actually it was Merk and Karsu that arranged the titles. I also thought it was Cevdet, but he was with Atilla when they deciphered it. Merk got right into the spirit. Actually apologies via book titles didn't seem that out there since she runs the bookstore and his original alias was being a writer.

Irmak blowing up.at a customer after telling her the same thing 50 times was expected.

Hande had her friend call Reha saying Hande hurt her back the previous episode and she needs someone to help her, tag, Reha's it

I think Atilla is in charge of the next mob job to get the guy off their back. Not telling Karsu about the kidnapping will likely come back to haunt him.

They did add some Turkish music with Merk and his concert. Karsu has some cute dance moves.

I'm surprised Filiz has more or less forgiven Hasan. Türkan was funny telling her ladies if their age shouldn't be in the work force when Filiz uses The app to find a job.

I thought the book titles was a light-hearted way to apologize, very much in line with Mert’s quixotic personality, so it didn’t bother me. I was glad to have something silly to offset my feelings of impending doom related to Atilla.

The use of Deniz by Suleyman was dreadful and very effective. Watching Hasan’s face during the phone call showed he immediately realized the danger this brought to the family he is growing fond of. And Atilla’s reaction was even stronger. I loved it when Deniz spotted Atilla come to rescue him. They have such a bond. But, while I understand Atilla agreeing not to tell Karsu at Deniz’s request, I fear it may be a fatal error.

The relationship between Atilla and Deniz has always been fascinating to me. The actors are wonderful at conveying their affection. The gun with the flower, the hiding of the real gun, and the flowers for Deniz’s dance party all show what a thoughtful pair these are, a very special relationship. Deniz is very young, but seems to sense Atilla’s inner character. His name of Black Knight is fitting. IIRC, when he saw Atilla in the mist heading to (or from) work, he imagined him as a superhero with a weapon like a light saber. It is fitting that it is Atilla who rescues him, setting up another illegal shipment. I wonder if Atilla will eventually take revenge on Suleyman. Suleyman recognized the strong bond between the two, but saw it as weakness, something to exploit. He will never understand what Hasan and Atilla are trying to do.

The concert scene was fun. Mert is so joyful! I wonder who his biological father was. Do we know? Maybe he got some of his joyful persona from him. Hasan must have been a good father to him. So many stories have children like him being mistreated in miserable childhoods. Mert and Atilla were happy and mutually supportive brothers. Irmak and Karsu were fun to watch dancing at the concert, perhaps a glimpse into their relationship growing up.

if only . . . I am concerned that Javier is going to try to tell her grandfather next about her drugs/sex past. I think he is twisted enough to play it out as far as he can to hurt her as much as he can for rejecting him. As for Azul, it will be interesting to see if Sergio tempers his response. Being totally honest, Azul is a little young for Estrella to allow her to be able to post videos on her own on the internet. Really? I won't even get into the bizarro triangle of Pascual/Valentín/Perla. She should let the two guys end up with each other. Should be another good one tonight.

I apologize Jarifa but I just couldn't cram all my thoughts into one comment. I had to add to my comment of last night again this morning as too much happened.

Of course you are right that Azul is too young to post videos on her own. She's too young and needs parental controls.

It would be great if Perla struck out on her own without either bonehead bugging her would't it??

Babachita, I am in total agreement with your comment. I also liked the book title gesture to Atilla. And very soon we see them out together at Mert's concert.

I kind of enjoyed a glimpse of Bad Atilla when he found out Deniz was being held hostage. We've seen that other side of him a couple of times, especially when he's thwarted some bad guys. And he rightly castigated his father for involving Omer in a move that completely backfired. I did not understand exactly how Suleyman caught on to the plan with Omer, but he did.

Lale having caught Filiz and Turkan dirtying up the pool was kind of to be expected. But I hope there are some consequences to Lale's vengeful behavior toward Filiz and Karsu.

I was surprised Filiz was meeting with Hasan so quickly, but there might have been cuts that would have explained it.

I also have dark foreboding about Atilla's getting involved in Suleyman's shipment.

A.MAR #62 Parte 1 Notes from the Couch

Univision was sort of stopping and starting and cutting out tonight. Maybe it was the cable. Anyway . . .

Azul Suffers on Two Fronts
Sergio is incensed and tells Azul that he is a famous man and now everyone is talking about him because of her. Estrella warns him about raising his voice but he goes on telling Azul since she is Azul Falcón she cannot go around saying what she wants. Azul gives him a look of defiance. Meche removes her to her room. Estrella tells him that he will not talk to her daughter again like that. He reminds her of everything he has done for her and her family. Is this how he is repaid??? Estrella cannot believe what he is saying and asks if that includes him coming to wipe out their town with his new company. He thinks she should control Azul better. She says thatif he means "control" as to "surpress" he daughter, she will always support her daughter giving her opinion like it or not.

Azul tells Estrella that she doesn't want her father to hate her. Her mother says he is under a lot of stress right now and that with time it will all work out.

Azul has an apple stolen by three classmates who accuse her father of taking their father's jobs away. Iker comes to Azul's aid. She tells her teacher. Her teacher calls Estrella.

Marina Has Hope
Marina tells Nico that none of the items that he has brought her have done noting to help her remember the past. He tells her that she will always be the love of his life but on the other hand, he also understands her moving on and getting engaged.

Nico goes to his home where he tells Adriana that he is done with her. He can never forgive her for having lied to him and kept Antonia from him. He only came by to get some clothes. He is going back to Nayarit.

Marina shows the photos that Nico brought to Gabriel. He thinks that the photo of the baby looks familiar. He checks it with a photo that he had taken of Iker when he rescued him. He was 4 months old just like the baby Marina lost. He shows her the photos and they agree that a DNA test is the only way to prove if Iker is her long last son or not.

Brisa refuses to give up and goes to the restaurant to be supposedly waited on by Marina. She is there to tell her that she got her gift when Marina's husband arrived in town. Now she can leave town and disappear from her life. Marina tells her that is not happening.She and Gabrile are engaged. They are getting married. She also tells Brisa to get a life and stop being such a groveler.
 

A.MAR Parte 2

A Melancholy Fabián
Fabián goes out on a boat all by himself. He has his wife's wedding ring with him. He kisses it and thinks about when he and his wife used to go out to sea like this. He talks to her about how beaten down he is feeling. No matter what he does, nothing is turning out.

Yazmín plans a dinner for him as a surprise. She and Oliver are there as well as Gonzalo and Erika who did all of the cooking. He is so appreciative of what his daughter planned. He remembers when her mother and she would go out on the boat with him. Those were the happiest times of his life.

Fabián takes Erika home with her cooking utensils. She doesn't miss a beat telling him that she feels like Yazmín could be her daughter. They could make such a lovely family of three together. Fabián quickly puts an end to that conversation but she still tries to kiss him before he leaves.


The Pascual Problem Solved FINALLY
Valentín, being the goof that he is, chains himself to a pole outside of Pascual's house. He will not leave there until Pascual approves of his relationship with Perla. He will be like a tree. Pascual says he better put down some roots then because he isn't coming inside of his house for anything. If he wants water, it is going to rain. That is how trees are watered. Pascual plays hard ball with him until he sees him suffering in rain storms. He brings him in and warms him up.Valentín tells him that he needs his approval to be with Perla because for him Pascual is the brother he never had. He is his family. Pascual asks if he really loves Perla and if is going to take care of her. Valentín says he will. Pascual says he has his approval. The bros hug.

Valentín runs to the union meeting to tell her the good news. He kisses Perla Everyone applauds. Estrella tells her sister she has never seen her so happy. Valentín says when there is love, you will find a way. Fabián and Estrella look at each other.

Estrella Joins Fabián in the Fight Against Alpha Sur
Fabián has a meeting with all of the union members to energize them in their fight against Alpha Sur. Estrella has joined the fight. After the meeting, Estrella
and Fabián are chatting. He says that when Valentín kissed Perla he remembered their first kiss. Estrella says she doesn't. She gets a phone call from Azul's school and has to leave.

Gabriel Finds Out How He Has Pay the Piper
Gabriel has gone to Sergio's office to give Sergio his first payment for the loan he took from him for Iker's custody legal representation. He sees the judge who decided in his favor in Sergio's office as eh is leaving. Sergio says the judge is a friend of his and he had him changed to Gabriel's case which resulted in him getting custody of Iker. Adriana tells Gabriel to stop by her office to make his payment. Sergio has something important for Gabriel to sign. Gabriela asks what would that be. Sergio says it is his contract with Alpha Sur.
 

Karsu

Well that didn't take long. Deniz told the truth so Karsu rightly went on the warpath. I felt so sorry for Atilla with his trembling chin holding back his tears. She also knows the correct thing to do is tell Reha. He should take it well, it seemed he wanted to join the Mafia with Hasan.

And now all 3 are unemployed, but they do have a roof over there heads for 6 months, but Filiz no longer owns the house so she can't evict Atilla....

I liked how he put Lale in her place for her petty revenge by taking over Filiz job.

Ipek is back. Sounds like her sister married money also, but they don't think she can help.

Jarifa, thank you for your excellent recap. As always, a thoroughly engrossing read!

Each successive episode is becoming more intense, causing great agida. I was only able to catch the last few minutes so I appreciate all of your well written details.

"Gabriel... thinks that the photo of the baby looks familiar. He checks it with a photo that he had taken of Iker when he rescued him. He was 4 months old just like the baby Marina lost". The first step of the inevitable outcome proving Nicolas is Iker's father. The plot quickly thickens.

So Nicolas breaks it off with Adriana. Why do I doubt we've seen the last of her?

Brisa just won't give up. She and Erika have a lot in common don't they?? They are truly girls "who can't say no" or rather, accept "no"! :)

So good to see that Estrella rebuked Sergio for his treatment of Azul. He needs to be brought down a peg or ten...

Ahh, so Sergio fixed the outcome of Iker's case. I didn't suspect it at the time but in hindsight, makes perfect sense. Now Gabriel has to "pay the piper" indeed Jarifa.

I look forward to watching "A Melancholy Fabián" as well as the silly Pascual/Valentin antics. Finally, Perla and Valentin can pursue their romance.

Karsu

Oh boy! This was a way better episode! I wonder why Deniz didn’t want his mother to know he was kidnapped.

Now Karsu and Filiz no longer have suitors, all our ladies are unemployed and the fridge is getting empty. Meanwhile, they’re surrounded by people who have oceans of money. Also there’s Reha who seems to have plenty of loose change. Can’t he pay for food for the kids?

I love Reha telling Kande that Karsu came back because she’s so in love with him, but his heart belongs to Kande. I don’t think she’s buying any of that. I wonder why she’s there? Some kind of revenge on her mind?

Speaking of revenge, there’s Atila reproaching Lale for being vengeful. Do she and her brother just sit around plotting revenge? That’s good coming from a fellow who would have killed Suleyman except Deniz was sitting right there.

I liked Atila telling Omer that a simple messenger job is how it starts. Look at Cedvet and Dilaver – that’s how they started out.

So Atila was very much our hero the Dark Knight, doing all the honorable things, rescuing a little boy, and also ordering protection for Bahar’s whole family (who will do that? Do they still have minions?). But look what it got him. Now his heart is broken.

Well, the delivery is done and now Hasan is going to finish up. Will he have Suleyman killed?

Thanks, Diana. Yes, Brisa and Erika are unrelenting. I will be interesting to see what happens to them. I wasn't happy that Fabián gave Erika a lift home alone. He should have taken somebody or everybody with him. It was bad enough he had to eat his favorite dish that Erika cooked for him and appreciate Yazmín's efforts in spite of her poor choice of cook. He and Gabriel are both waaaay too patient and polite with their exes. Poor Gabriel cannot catch a break.

Jarifa, I just watched the episode - it was fantastic, just as you described.

I loved Fabian's sea soliloquy. I didn't love his "carelessness" of being with Erika alone, as you noted.

All of the Gabriel/Marina scenes were so well done. His look of love comparing the Nico/Iker pictures was very touching. Now it's just a matter of time.

At least Brisa helped Pascual in "forgiving" Valentin! I begrudingly admit she seems to be having a somewhat positive effect on Pascual. He seems to look better and isn't making too many of those contorted facial expressions. I laughed at her commandeering his sammie...I hate to say it but if things start loosening up, I might be able to envision them together. That doesn't mean her transgressions have been forgiven; she is still steaming straight ahead for Gabriel so isn't done with her mischief.

A.MAR #63 Parte 1 Notes from the Couch

DRAMA! DRAMA! DRAMA!

Gabriel Has Some Decisions to Make
Sergio tells Gabriel that if he signs the contract he will be the captain of one of his boats. He will be able to pay off his debt in less than a year and save some money besides.Gabriel doesn't know where he got the idea that he wanted to work for Alpha Sur. Sergio educates him on what his new economic situation is going to bel ike once Alpha Sur starts operating. He will be catching less and less fish. If he misses a payment, his interest rates will increase. If he cannot support his son the judge who approved his adoption might not approve it anymore. Gabriel asks if that is a threat. Sergio says it isn't but it is something that could happen. Things could be terrible for him. Gabriel rejects the job and saying he cannot betray his best friend.

Gabriel's nightmare continues as he goes to see Adriana to make the first payment on his debt. He asks her for the account number so he can make a deposit and not have to see her or Sergio. Adriana wants to talk to him. It seems that they both ended up with a son that wasn't theirs: Iker. He warns her not to talk about his son. She says they both have the same goal. She wants to end up with Nicolás and he with Marina, She thinks the best would be for him to take Iker and Marina and move far away. Gabriel isn't going anywhere. She warns him that if Marina starts remembering being Antonia he could lose her to Nicolás. Gabriel asks her to send him the account number and leaves.

He makes it home and while he is looking at the directions for a DNA test, she turns up at his door and enters his house. She sees the DNA test. He asks her to leave. She ignores his request and asks her if she has found Iker's parents.
He asks her to leave again. She has figured it all out with the hurricane and a four month old baby found on the beach. Iker must be Nico. He demands that she leave now but she is not going anywhere. She advises him not to do a DNA test because if he does, he will be putting everything he hass at risk. When Marina remembers her Antonia self, she will have one more reason to go back with Nicolás. She asks him if he is ready to lose his son that he fought so ahrd for. Gabriel insists that won't happen. Adriana informs him that when he he refused to sign the Alpha Sur contract, he became Fabián's enemy. Sergio also has a friend who is a judge who approved Iker's adoption. He needs to be careful because if there were a custody battle for Iker, the judge would certainly find in favor of the biological parents. That is why he shouldn't do a DNA test. Why risk it all just to get rid of doubts? Gabriel says he won't let the ones he loves to live in doubt if he can find out the truth.
 

A.MAR Parte 2

Marina arrives and is angry to see her sister in her home considering how she fooled her and lied to her. Marina almost hits her but Gabriel holds her back.
On her way out, Adriana tells Gabriel to think about what she told him.

Gabriel tells Marina how Adriana suspects that Iker is Nico and how she asked him not to do a DNA test and why. He tells Marina he thinks the test needs to be done because he doesn't want either her or Iker living in uncertainty. They deserve to know the truth. Marina is pleased. They agree not to say anything to Iker until they are sure about the results. Gabriel retrieves some saliva from the sleeping Iker for the test.

Sergio Spins his Web
Fabián sees a lonely Azul on the beach and after hearing her story about her father, he tells her to hang in there because the sun always follows the clouds.
Yazmín comes by and talks to her about dealing with her nasty classmates. Fabián watches Azul while her mother goes to the school.

Estrella has invited Sergio over so they can talk about Azul who is having a real tough time ever since she did the video and also with her classmates who blame him for putting their father's out of business. She wants to concentrate on Azul and not their differences. Sergio has to laugh at that one since she is the one who poisoned his daughter's mind against him. Estrella says that Azul came to her own conclusions.She is a smart kid. Sergio isn't buying it. She is responsible for Azul and all of the hostility. She says Azul is not well. He is willing to pay for psychological services if she needs them. Estrella accuses him of trying to solve everything with money one more time. He asks if she hates him that much why did she ever ask him to get involved in Azul's life. Estrella says she thought he had changed but she was wrong.

Azul and Fabián arrive as the argument is in full swing. Sergio states that he is done and will not be tormenting them anymore with his presence. Neither she or Azul will ever see him again. Azul asks why he said that. Estrella says her father didn't mean it. On the contrary, Sergio makes it very clear that he did mean it. He sees that his presence isn't doing them any good. So, he will not be where he is not wanted and will be going back to live in Mexico City. He can manage Alpha Sur from there. Azul hugs him begging him to stay. He says he tried to resolve things with them but all he got were protest marches and a video. Azul begs him for his forgiveness. Estrella says she has nothing to be sorry for, Her heart told her that was the right thing to do. She supports her. Sergio says he supports Azul, too, for being brave. She will always be his daughter and she will want for nothing but he has already made his decision.
 

A.MAR Parte 3

Estrella sends Azul and Fabián out of the room. Estrella is upset with him because Azul is already having problems with kids at school whose families are suffering because of Alpha Sur and now he voices this threat. He says it is hard when a mother talks a daughter into going against her own father but she did it!

After he leaves, Estrella talks to Azul. She explains that none of this is her fault and that her father is reacting very badly to everything. Estrella explains to her that her love for her is unconditional and it will never depend on what she thinks about something. Azul doesn't want Sergio to go. It is nice having a dad even if he isn't perfect.

Estrella thanks Fabián for taking care of Azul. he says he enjoyed his time with her and Yazmín. He could tell that Azul was not doing well and it hurt him seeing her that way. He tells Estrella he is there to support her in whatever way she needs. Estrella is grateful.

Back at the office, Sergio meet with Adriana and Juanjo. Azul texts him that she took down the video and apologizes for it all. He smiles. He informs them that he is going back to Mexico City and he will monitor things from there. Juanjo says that the business is ready to launch so there is nothing to worry about. Adriana asks about Estrella and Azul. Sergio explains that he is feeling the pressure from his father to meet Azul. He tried to win Estrella's heart but that didn't work out so he is taking another tack. He is going to corner Estrella by taking custody of brat away from her.

Adriana explains that courts usually find for the mother unless one can show that the well-being of the child is being compromised by negligence, physical abuse, a lack of income or any situation that would show Estrella not bing fit to support a child. Sergio says they have a judge working for them. Adriana doesn't know if that will be enough. Juanjo adds that with Alpha Sur being fully operational, Estrella will be unable to catch as many fish as she did and will be losing a lot of income. Then they can show that Sergio can offer Azul a better life and education. When Estrella sees there is no way out, she will agree to marry him so she doesn't lose her daughter.

Yazmín: Two Steps Forward One Step Back
Yazmín is antsy and cannot sleep She ends up taking a pill to help her. She convinces herself it is only for tonight and she is only taking it to sleep.

Nemesio Puts the Contreras Out of Business
As Perla, Valentín, Nemesio Perla and Oliver are talking at the restaurant, Teresita confronts her husband with the Alpha Sur contract he signed and that she happened to find in a drawer. What can he say? Not much as they all attack him for his disloyalty to the cause. He explains that he is doing it to simply better his situation. No other reason. Perla asks him to reconsider knowing how it is going to affect their fishing business. They need him to move the boats but he will not change his decision. He is putting them out of business.
At home, he makes it clear that he will do what he wants and if any of them living at his house do not like it, they can go. He opens the front door to show them how.

Estrella talks to Brisa about her decision to leave the family business when they need her most.She tells her about Nemesio working for Alpha Sur. Esrella sees her hurting her own family and others, too. Brisa answers saying that she has to think of herself first. Estrella asks when she changed so much. Estrella always thought she was vain but not selfish. Brisa says Estrella wasn't around for years so she really doesn't know her. Estrella has to agree. She never knew Brisa was so ambitious and cold.

Brisa brings her mother some groceries to help the family out since she found out that Nemesio has gone with Alpha Sur. Meche thanks her and says she will be fine when Brisa is on the same side they all are on like before. Brisa says she isn't against anyone. She only wants to get ahead. Meche accuses her of leaving her family high and dry. She didn't raise her that way.

Thanks for all the updates. I have had kidney stones for several days & finally came to the hospital today. Team of urologist tomorrow. So anyhow I keep falling asleep. Well it doesn't look good for Attilla.

Jarifa, thank you for an extraordinary, comprehensive recap.

So enjoyed "DRAMA! DRAMA! DRAMA!" which encapsulated all of tonight's events perfectly.

I saw most of this but admit to not understanding much of the dialogue which you so smartly clarified and translated.

Loyalty and integrity are several of the uplifting, overarching themes woven throughout the fabric of the story. "Gabriel rejects the job and saying he cannot betray his best friend" and Adriana "...asks him if he is ready to lose his son that he fought so hard for. Gabriel insists that won't happen... Gabriel says he won't let the ones he loves to live in doubt if he can find out the truth" are but a few examples.

So much good surely will be the antidote to Sergio's loathsome and destructive plans. "When Estrella sees there is no way out, she will agree to marry him so she doesn't lose her daughter".

Nemesio's defection was surprising.

"Yazmín: Two Steps Forward One Step Back" was exactly right and hard to watch.

"Brisa answers saying that she has to think of herself first". Brisa's selfishness is no revelation.
