Omer in Sibel’s home. Asks Fatma why she and Sibel went to jewelry store before the murder. Fatma starts to deny, but Omer says he knows. Fatma admits, saying diamond came from friend with a debt to pay. Omer says a diamond is a lot of money. How much was debt? He asks Sibel’s sister if she knew, and Fatma says she studies all day and knows nothing. Omer gets angry. Why didn’t you tell me? I asked so many times! Sibel may have been killed for this diamond!
Fatma says she didn’t think about it. You ask so many questions. Then she brings up Elif, about whom Omer lied. He leaves, saying the things Sibel hid from me hurt me so much. Sister looks guilty. In car, he looks so frustrated. Calls Elif to meet.
Back at Sibel’s, Fatma says Omer has no idea what he’s up against. Sister says Sibel did it for us. We should tell Omer. Fatma says secret dies with us.
At Denizer house, Nilufer is visibly bored. Fatih calls. Look out window. Large cluster of balloons.
Elif and Omer on bench overlooking Bosphorus. She asks about new interrogations. That’s the way the law works. He tells her how precious she has become in short time. She changes subject. What did you have to tell me? He shows video of Asli sneaking out shortly before murder.
Denizer Holding. Asli still furious about interrogations. Taner ties to calm. Please take pills. She ends up in shower fully dressed.
Back to Elif and Omer. She tells about Asli’s past. He asks if she ever questions Asli. Do you ever question your brother! (Touché)
She is sure Asli isn’t murderer. Omer agrees to help Elif, so they are drawing close again.
Elif gets in car and is joined by Fatih. His usual unpleasant self (to Elif), he threatens her. What will Omer think when he finds out about dirty money? She drives off in a fury, scaring Fatih who finally pulls car off road after a wild ride. She says she wants to die. He tells her that won’t remove the debt. Her sister would be next. If he means it, this shows he would have forced Nilufer into money laundering. I think it’s a meaningless threat because he loves Nilufer and she’d be a terrible courier unlike her strong sister. But, Elif believes him.
More to come.
Babachita
At Omer’s, Elvan has set up table in garden to celebrate Husseyn’s 5th bullet. Omer reports to Husseyn that he showed Elif the video. She shared Asli’s history. He will talk to her doctor. Elif will help, I think with interrogation. Husseyn wonders if she would run, Omer says to trust him.
Denizer house: Nilufer still bored. (I’m getting tired of her attitude.). Mom says too dangerous. But they agree it’s ok if with Mert.
Omar calls to find out where Elif is. Important. At a dance studio. Nilufer again complains that Elif gets to be out.
Nice interlude at studio where Elif dances expressively. This is relaxing. Omer watches her graceful moves longingly. They talk. Omer agrees to do interrogations at house all at once. She thanks him for talking to Husseyn. Omer tells her she can trust him. Elif says she can’t trust herself. Oner looks pensive as he leaves.
Tayyer’s lair: Tayyar tells Fatih he is late. Money from three patients ready to go to Rome. Tayyer tells Fatih he’s broken his trust once, so have to be careful. ( Was this when Sibel’s sister freaked out or another event?). They are going to be looking for a new courier at his Foundation. Needs to be three things: poor, needy, and loyal!
Back at Elvan’s garden party: the detectives are enjoying themselves. Husseyn says they are the three musketeers, Husseyn being the fourth one, D’artagnan. Omer arrives and Porthos is announced. He is confused. They explain. Omer doesn’t respond much to this light banter. Omer is tired and annoyed with the day’s events, but Husseyn wants to party. Starts singing. This really sets Omer off. Tells him to shut up and sit. This makes Husseyn feel bad. He asks what happened with Elif.
Omer replied that he’s tired of Sibel. She went to the Kapali Carsi (Grand Bazaar) to sell a fake diamond before the murder. He says she lied to her mom. Melike says I knew she was up to something! Her clothes on a teacher’s salary?
(Melike doesn’t miss much!). Husseyn tells her to shut up. Omer says Melike is right. I think she was part of the money laundering business. Tells Husseyn he needs his help. Of course, agree Pelin & Arda & Husseyn ( not to be left out).
Babachita
Denizer house: Elif tells Zerrin that Omer will be over in morning to take statements, as she had requested.
Elif asks Nilufer if she is scared (about interrogation). Elif wants to talk with Nilufer. Why did she tell mom about Omer? Why so angry with me? Nilufer says you left me there and went away. Roman holiday! Elif says she didn’t leave her. They were separated. Rome trip was business. I didn’t sleep until they found you.
Nilufer says you didn’t think of what happened to me. Elif says she wished it hadn't happened to her. Nilufer says don’t lie anymore, especially to yourself. Elif: Why don’t you believe me? Elif leaves without answering.

I didn't get a chance to watch 26 on Sunday so I just watched today. I will try to watch 27 tonight as well. Sunday got derailed by maintenance issues and football/baseball.
One thing I noticed was the hospital was 'Tayyar's hospital' or at least that's what the subtitles said, and the timing was interesting because it showed it back to back: First scene the Denizer meeting, our company is going bankrupt, we have to sell our building and rent something smaller so we can pay our debts! Very next scene, Tayyar pulls up in front of a giant building which is declared to be Tayyar's hospital, and we are shown the difference.... evil is thriving and the Denizer's are barely holding on.
Tayyar supposedly has some sort of familiarly love toward this family, but he shows no genuine concern or affection for Elif or Nilufer and he likely killed dad (I don't care what he said) so I'm guessing he really hates/resents them??
I don't fully get what Asli's illness is, but it's got to be more than panic attacks...bi-polar? Some kind of personality disorder? With her violent history of incidences from when she was off her meds, I think it's more than depression. It could be a difference with the translation, but the Spanish dubbing said that mom doesn't trust the doctor anymore because these meds haven't cured Asli and mom expected this to be an illness that Asli outgrew in her youth.
Darcy, I realized today that I had gone too fast. You were on the right track. We should do 27 tonight with blog entries tomorrow. So, I will take a breath and do 28 tomorrow night with blog overnight or Wednesday.
Babachita
I agree with Darcy in #26 (and more) that something is really wrong with Asli. It sounds like doctors thought time in clinics plus meds should lead to improvement. Zerrin is totally against clinics. I have the feeling she felt they made Asli worse.
Yes, big difference. Tayyer on the way up and Denizers on the way down. Of course Ahmed Denizer was a fellow crook. Must not have been as talented with money as Tayyer. I thought Tayyer had some affection for the girls, but not so sure now. I’m sure he’d like Mert to marry Elif for the prestige, at least, if no money left!
Fingers crossed for Omer!
Babachita
I watched 27 but I agree with you Babachita about slowing down, I think I'll comment more about the substance of the episode tomorrow after work when I'm less tired. Right now, I could nod off any minute, it's been a day.
I did want to say one thing about Nilufer while I am thinking of it though, which is I kind of feel bad for her. Yes, she's kind of being bratty and yes, it's kind of like so what if you're bored but on the other hand she's being left ALONE in that house while everyone else is living their lives and that can't be easy. They say it's for her safety, but they aren't really connecting with her. Except for the first day when mommy wanted Nilufer by her side, everyone is out of the house while Nilufer is basically on house arrest hanging out with the maid, watching movies alone and twiddling her thumbs. Her only company is her kidnapper/boyfriend's voice in her ear messing with her mind and her ex's visit, I guess. I'm not saying I'd act the same way, but I can see why she's going stir crazy. She's traumatized and she shouldn't be alone in that house! She should be in therapy! With Asli! LOL
I agree with you, Darcy, about Nilufer. I just get grumpy with attitude sometimes. I think Nilufer is a real victim in all of this. Actually all the girls are. But Nilufer is experiencing true love with someone who may be good at heart but has flaws. I always worry about her with him. I hope he is planning to escape his awful father somehow. If I were rescued from a kidnapping, I would want to run and run free in fields and go to all my favorite places and restaurants. Being shut up in that home alone would be frustrating!
You are a powerful advocate for her, and with good reason!
I’ve been thinking that we might do this tale five days a week, like we do the others. This would give us some flexibility.
That and, as we discussed, the particular episode # for the day to watch as late as that night with comments late that night or anytime the following day gives more time. We can savor this great story slowly, like sipping whisky!
These are suggestions. I can do one every day if you like!
Watching the Mexican Grito right now on Telemundo with Chantal Andere as host! She is especially beautiful tonight in a lovely green dress for this!
Babachita
Babachita, I agree with five days a week - one episode # a day. I think I was just unclear on whether we are starting today with 27 or 28 - was yesterday 26 or Sunday 26? That's why I offered to comment more on 27 today, but we can do 28 today - and go forward from there too since we watched 27 yesterday.
We'll find the pace. I can't wait to watch more and share it with you all! But off to work I go!
I like five days a week. I’m ready to watch #28 today/tonight and comment tonight or tomorrow, so let’s do it.
This will settle down into a routine soon!
Babachita
I'll jump in on 32( I'm halfway through it). 5 days is good by me, though weekends are my bored time and that is when I want to watch it. I'm not a football or sports fan so that doesn't drag me away. Still have 3 evening shows I'm watching during the week, but hopefully that will drop to 2 on the 25th.
I'll try to keep up with you. I love this dizi and I've watched it multiple times. I'm happy to finally have the opportunity to discuss it. Unfortunately, with my current schedule, I can't promise to recap or comment on a regular basis.
Oh my, the English dubbing is horrible! The translation is terrible! Spanish is slightly better. Since there are no spoilers for me, I'll watch the Turkish eps and stop where your shorter eps stop. I want to hear Engin's sweet voice to match his gaze.
Glad to see you, Kat. My schedule is pretty easy, so I could do weekends. What do you think, Darcy? Doing five commentaries would be a crush in time. Maybe no summaries but just general comments on the weekend?
Or,
What about Kat watching the five episodes the weekend before we do our daily viewing of those five and then making comments after each summary is posted?
Love that we all want to watch these!

Engin news for the Fall.
He’s started filming a new dizi, Bereketli Topraklar/Fertile Lands, for Show TV that’s scheduled for an October premiere in Türkiye. Online sources: “The series will be shot in Adana and is about the rekindling of an old feud between two deep-rooted families and the sins of the past being carried over to the present.”
First Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ktB6fGv9Hws You can turn on English auto generated subs. Helpful.
His Netflix dizi, Enfes Bir Akşam/A Delicious Evening aka Old Money, is scheduled to debut on October 10. His costar is the talented Aslı Enver.
First Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DLp-GtD0Aq0 I don’t see subs available. Probably available on Netflix.
Here is the translation:
The last princess of a dying empire, possessing nothing but the glory and splendor of the past, which her enemies now covet, and the new prince of a new world, consumed by a burning desire for victory and determined to encompass and destroy that great empire. A war between two representatives of two worlds, between old and new money. A story of war and love between those who play the game of etiquette, knowledge and diplomacy, rooted in their genes, and those who change it.
Finally, Adım Farah/My Name is Farah, his previous dizi with Demet Özdemir, is nominated for Best Non-Spanish language Novela at the Latin American Premios PRODU. Demet is nominated for Best Actress and Engin for Best Actor in the non-Spanish categories.
Dondi! Glad you are here to give us real Turkish info! You are right about the English! Last time I did Spanish. But, I can move faster with English, so doing it this time in spite of flaws. The voices make me laugh. Tayyer sounds like an American gangster.
Babachita
Wow! Exciting news! The one with Asli Enver sounds especially interesting. I really like her. If Netflix does them, they don’t seem to show up on our stations. This was the case with KPA. Maybe this would be our next one for this group of dizi, Engin, etc, lovers!
Babachita
Weekends could work. I would actually have more time to think and savor I think during the weekend rather than just watch and type something up real quick during the week. I'd also be less tired.
Maybe we continue watching and get to Ep 32 the next few days and then switch? Then we can watch whenever we watch - but have weekend discussions? Maybe discuss the first 3 on Saturday and 2 on Sunday or however that works?? I like that idea.
Interesting news about Engin Dondi, thanks!
I still think Asli is a red herring, but they sure made her look guilty in this episode, and we learned she even pulled a gun on daddy within hours of his death and shot the ceiling.
Omer is left to look like a liar when the rest of the team finds a recording the seems to indicate that Asli was leaving the house in search of daddy too when she snuck out of the house on the night of the party. Omer had told Elif that he would give her time to bring Asli to the station herself, but the captain ordered the team to go arrest Asli the police come to arrest Asli at home, and she's dragged off and arrested in front of the press!!! While yelling out how much she hates Elif. Elif just tells Omer how hard it is to gain trust and how easy to lose it - how every time she trusts him her heart ends up broken into pieces. Omer looks shattered as usual but there's nothing he can do.
It was interesting to see Melike show a moment of genuine affection for Huseylin when she was carting him off to bed drunk. Most of the time she seems just critical and mean, but in that moment, you could tell that she loves him. Maybe it's insecurity on her part that keeps her fighting for her place in the family?
I'm getting suspicious of Taner, he's too nice... Too nice to Elif. Too nice to his crazy wife who he can't be in love with and is cheating on. I don't think Asli was involved in daddy's death, but Taner is too nice, and he was asking about the diamonds at in odd moment in today's episode when he should have been worried about Asli.
Weekends would work. The idea of 3&2 or vice versa is good. We can decide after we get to 32. That would be Monday (I think). We could even do 32 this weekend and decide how to progress.
Melike seems to have her heart in the right place. I think she loves Husseyn. She is just wound very tightly. She misses nothing. She ought to be a detective. I like how Elvan handles her, firmly with love. What a thoughtful mother-in-law.
Finding the bullet was fun. Omer’s eyes kept looking for something, and by golly he found it.
Hulya was miserable! Do we know whose gun it was yet?
Mert keeps trying to attract Nilufer with no success. Fatih wants to know why she chose him. I liked her words here: Because he doesn’t look at me like you do. You take my breath away. My dad was my hero. He is gone. You are my hero now. You told me I’d be your last lover. I believed you and locked you in my heart.
That line about Nilufer being Fatih’s last lover might be reassuring…or not. It is sticking in my mind.
Fatih goes to his car and pulls something out of hlove compartment. It says, This is the large trump card that is prepared for Nilufer. Enjoy! It’s the dvd. I guess from Tayyer to be used to pressure her into something. More laundering or what? Did he destroy or keep it? I don’t recall!
Taner has a thankless job. Maybe he wants diamonds, hoping to escape the loony bin!
Omer is now officially in Istanbul assigned to Chief Ali’s murder unit. Omer expected to be in organized crime but accepts. Tayyar’s operation might fit organized crime so Omar might be very helpful.
New police evidence is a recording of Ahmed’s phone. Asli needed to see him the night of murder, but he keeps putting her off to morning.
Cops go to bring Asli in, in spite of promising to let Omer know first. The arrest (was it an arrest?) was traumatic for whole family. Omer left messages to warn Elif but she didn’t see them. So, after all this drama, it’s over again. Elif: Trust is hardest thing to earn but easiest to lose. I opened my heart to you. It’s broken in pieces.
Omer again looks crushed. But I think he is always thinking about the case! Let’s see what comes next.
Babachita
Not watching for a few weeks I'm losing track of the weird na.es and who they are so my commenting is limited. I missed the " you will be my last lover" that Fatih told Nilufer. That sure is a powerful draw. I don't know whether to hope he is redeemed, or if he has done too much evil in his past and doesn't deserve it. If he only took out really bad guys I guess I could go with a redemption story. I doubt his hands are that clean though.
Babachita, good point about Asli not being under arrest, I spoke too loosely. She was only taken in for questioning not arrested. Still, it doesn't look good to the press.
Elif is still mad at Omer and Omer is pouting about it, but big brother is right, he couldn't tell the boss to hold his horses because Omer promised Elif - that's not how the world works. They could have waited for a doctor's report or a lawyer to question Asli though, but the jefe doesn't want to do that because it's not in his best interest.
Omer doesn't think Asli is guilt and Husseyn thinks he's just defending Elif, because this chick is clearly crazy and they have proof she was after daddy that night and threatened him with a gun and everything... but Omer goes to great lengths to demonstrate how the facts of the case don't really make sense with Asli as the killer. Sure, she might have killed dad in a fit of rage but she's too crazy to have also planted Sibel at the scene of the crime after killing her elsewhere. Pelin agrees with Omer but thinks that only means Asli couldn't have worked alone. Husseyn is willing to believe this much but he still thinks Asli was involved - I still don't. She looks like she wants to say something, especially to Omer and then she stops herself and refuses to cooperate. I wonder if she knows anything at all or if she's just plain crazy?
Tayyar stops by to pretend to care and manages to convince everyone to leave except Elif who stays but still isn't talking to Omer. Omer enlists the help of a barista to try to melt Elif's defenses by bringing her tea and coffee and ultimately cakes and sweets (on the way we have seen them delivered yet) and Elif refuses at first but ends of sipping the coffee to Omer's delight. His victory is soured however by the arrival of Levent who has come to keep Elif company and try to worm his way in. These two do some bonding and Levent has Elif laughing as Omer looks on sadly.
Great summary, Darcy! I liked this episode because almost all was in one location, the police station.
Watching Omer and Elif watching each other was fun. They are so attracted to each other, but life is definitely in the way.
Asli continues her out-of-control behavior in interrogation.
The four musketeers meet and discuss. Husseyn said she got rid of her father first, then Sibel. He quickly corrected this to say she killed them both. Omar says he disagrees. There is a heated argument. Pelin asks Omer why he’s so sure. He sets up chairs and shows them how murder was not done at one time. Asli too small to carry Sibel that far. Unless a conspiracy with an accomplice.
Taner acting fishy. Cops want to know why he didn’t know Asli left. He claims drunken slumber. Omer talks to him alone. Taner admits affair with Pinar. That’s where he really was that night. Omer agrees to keep it secret if he can.
Tayyar shows up all hurt that Elif or someone didn’t tell him. They all talk and he gets everyone to go home and rest. Just Elif there. She goes to patio.
There is a cute scene where Omer sends tea, coffee, and treats to Elif. She refuses at first, but can’t resist coffee. He peeks out to watch her. She peeks up at window to catch him. But then Levent shows up. Bummer! Just when things were thawing nicely.
Taner and Pinar meet at some landmark. Promise they will escape when they find diamonds.
It’s obvious Omer and Elif are very drawn to each other, but life is constantly in the way. I liked that the whole family was there to support Asli.
