Hulya is really a b!tch. Tearing up the ticket to the music concert that Filiz put in the bistros mailbox for him. Good thing Mert salvaged that fiasco complains to the health department about the cafe. What about those cameras outside the cafe that caught Atila and Reha's fight, maybe they also caught Hulya putting glass in her sandwich.

Karsu is so going to get caught, or fired. Sneaking away from the job to check on selin from afar, then a preschool child gets injured and of course it's selin so she goes to the ER in a taxi to be with her.

Yuk, handsome guy has a sleeve tattoo. Not so cute to me anymore. Türkan wanting to go and tell him to put some clothes on, he's distracting the people, Ipek and Irmak. Lake tries to warn him off Irmak but now he's more intrigued.

Karsu does get called on the carpet for leaving the job. And now Reha will likely be able to get a restraining order against her.

Ha, Türkan brings Kivak a pair of pyjamas so he isn't half naked in the garden of a family friendly neighborhood.

Karsu tells Deniz to have Selin to video call her! How does she think he can manage that? Then Deniz lets it slip that he knows that Selin was injured. Reha is no dummy, he's sure Karsu is following the kids.
 

A.MAR #71 Parte 1 Notes from the Couch . . . Holiday Edition!!!

Yazmín turns 18
Her father gives her a heart shaped locket with her photos and photos of him and her mother inside. She is pleased. He is so proud of her.

She has a birthday party. Erika seems to have planned it and is running it.

It turns out that Oliver is going to have to repeat the online course he was taking because he failed the tests. Yazmín says no problem, she can go to medical school in Nayarit. She wouldn't be happy if he were not with her. Oliver doesn't want her to sacrifice the training that she was so much looking forward to because of him.

Marina's Story is Being Revealed
NIcolás leaves Adriana a message to remove her things from their house in Mexico ASAP. He thinks he may have a buyer. Marina is working as an arquitect with Nicolás in the county capital and not in Mexico City. They are staying with a friend of theirs Felipe. She is happy and grateful. He would love for them to be a couple again but he knows that she needs time and is more than happy to be there to support her. Adriana calls him back which prompts him to tell Marina that Adriana has to understand that she is the love of his life.

Adriana tells Nicolás that he had better hope that Marina/Antonia doesn't start remembering because she is going to remember that the hurricane didn't separate them. Marina was leaving him. The last words he heard out of her mouth was that she wanted a divorce from him because she had found them, Nicolás and her own sister, in bed together. What would Marina think about that? He tells her not so fast because he could tell Marina that she inherited a large fortune when her mother died and that her own sister stole it from her. Adriana says she didn't steal anything. When her mother died, they all thought that Marina was dead. Adriana was adopted legally. She was the only live heir. He insists that Marina is alive and still could claim what is rightfully hers. It is better they keep quiet.

Sergio Challenges His Father or Everyone Shushes Estrella
Azul talks about her concern for ecology with her grandfather at dinner. He assures her that he personally reviewed all of the environmental impact studies of Alpha Sur. He believes they have taken all of the necessary precautions to minimize any damage to the environment. Estrella starts to talk abut traditional fishing being affected and Azul shushes her. Sergio says they can move on to other topics so his father asks when they are getting married. After Azul is sent to the play area of the restaurant. Estrella hears Lorenzo talking about "conditions" and one of them being that Sergio needs family structure in his life. This time, Sergio cuts Estrella off and sings her praises as a mother for eleven years. It has nothing to do with his power and money. Lorenzo insists that they have already talked about it. He if he does not marry and establish a family he will lose his inheritance of Alpha Pacífico. Sergio is sick of his threats. He is deeply in love with Estrella. He love his child and he would be the happiest man in the world if some day Estrella, the great woman she is, would decide to be his wife but he will not pressure her. If that loses his father's support, so be it. His father doesn't own their lives. Sergio decides it is time for them to go. Lorenzo is left wondering what happened to his son.
 

A.MAR Parte 2

Sergio apologizes for his father. He makes it clear it has nothing to do with him. Estrella tells him not to worry. She appreciates the way he defended her now. He is sick of his father dominating his life. He admits to having been a complete imbecile for turning his back on her when she got pregnant and not putting it all on the line with his father. He should have fought for her and their child. He s now ashamed for the way he acted with no scruples. She never thought she would hear him talk that way. He understands he cannot fix what he did but the future has yet to be written. Eleven years ago, he had no idea what he wanted out of life but now he does. He only wants to be with both of them. As she starts to protest, he assures he that he is not trying to push her into anything. He is going to respect her time and decisions because he still loves her. He will never give up his dream of having a family with her.

Then, Sergio invites her and Azul to come live in his huge house with him just see how they could operate as a family since she doesn't have a place of her own and is stilling living with her friend. Estrella reminds him that she has asked him to not pressure her but he continues to do so. She tells him that Azul is the only thing that connects them. She adds that she is not in love with him. He asks her to open herself to that possibility. They look like they are ready to kiss. Azul takes a photo of them. Sergio does kiss her on the cheek before he leaves.

Later, Sergio tells his father that if he really trusted him, he would turn over the business to him without conditions. He is sick of everything his father does being about power and money. He has a granddaughter, so what more does he want? Lorenzo agrees to rethink his retirement and to give him his decision in a couple of weeks.

Azul is overjoyed to have her father in her life. He sends Estrella and her two huge bouquets of flowers later that night.

Pascual Loses Patience with Brisa
Pascual tells Valentín it has been two months that Brisa has been living there and she still regards him like a little dog. He is going to have to get her out of his head and to start seeing her as only a friend.

Brisa is upset. She complains to Pascual who is busy on his phone. Juanjo refuses to go out with her. She doesn't know what is happening. Gabriel broke up with Marina two months ago and never contacted her and now Juanjo! She doesn't get why nobody sees what a great woman she was. She gets upset that now Pascual is ignoring her. She grabs his phone. He is chatting with Soraya. She wants to know why Pascual treated her like a queen and now he can only talk about Soraya. He says he wants to be her friend and it is none of her business. He grabs his phone back. She tells him that Soraya is always winking at every guy that comes by her stand. Pascual asks how that matters to her. Well, it affects her because he . . . lives with her and he is her . . Pascaul asks would that be her servant? her puppy? She says yes! He is her puppy! He is hers and and it matters to her that he is well. He makes it clear that he is no puppy but a full fledged man. He will go out with whoever he wants. He leaves.
 

A.MAR Parte 3

Valentín Between a Rock and a Hard Place
After Nemesio threatens him with charging him 1,000 pesos a day or taking the ring off of Perla's hand himself, Valentín gives in and agrees to go work for Alpha Pacífica. That way he can pay Nemesio for the ring and pay for his wedding with Perla. Meche overhears the conversation and is extremely angry thinking that Valentín had played with Perla's affections. He explains exactly what happened and that he really loves Perla. He will never hurt her. She makes it clear that he better not.

Brisa gives Valentín the contract to sign which he does. Perla arrives on the scene and when she sees what he has done, she rips up the contract and tells Brisa that her novio will NOT work for dirty money.

Rosalba Knows How to Balance the Books
Porfirio notices that Rosalba, the great lady who is now toiling in the sun, is back in town as she is sweeping in front of the inn. He reminds her that only 50% of the money she took belonged to her. She says that is too bad because she spent 100%. In her desire to improve her situation, she turns on her charms and he cannot resist, his anger turning into passion.

Fabián Gets an Eyeful and Has His Hands Full
At Yazmín's birthday party, Fabián talks to Estrella via Iker's and Azul's phones. They evidently haven't talked at all and the conversation is very perfunctory at first. As it begins to thaw, Erika appears leaning on Fabián's shoulder saying hello!! to Estrella! The conversation quickly ends and Estrella ends up in tears as she remembers kissing Fabián and Erika ending up in bed with him. When Fabián tries to talks with Estrella a bit later, he sees the photo that Azul took of Sergio and Estrella instead and quickly gives up.

As Fabián sits alone with his slice of coconut chocolate birthday cake, Erika tries to animate him and get him to dance. He escapes to the beach and she follows him. He thanks her for all she did for Yazmín's birthday party. She grabs him and tries to kiss him. He makes it clear one more time that he is not interested. She won't take NO for an answer. He finally escapes to his office.

Fabián tells his father that the union has a meeting tomorrow in Mexico City with a federal secretary about fishing regulations. His father points out that the meeting will not last all day and that maybe he should take the opportunity of being in Mexico City to go visit Estrella. Fabián reminds him that she made it clear that she wanted nothing to do with him. His father reminds him that sometimes a man has to do what a man has to do. What he needs to do is face this situation once and for all and find out if he has any future with Estrella or if it is time to turn the page and go on. There is no way he can go on like he is.

Jarifa, your recap was a sparkling jewel, polished to perfection.

As I understood so little, I just rewatched this on my high def channel. I needn't have bothered as the second viewing revealed little of what I missed in the first. Thankfully, you came to the rescue and recounted everything superbly.

Ah ha!!! So Nicolas isn't the perfect adoring husband! This all important revelation deserves to be repeated in its entirety: "Adriana tells Nicolás that he had better hope that Marina/Antonia doesn't start remembering because she is going to remember that the hurricane didn't separate them. Marina was leaving him. The last words he heard out of her mouth was that she wanted a divorce from him because she had found them, Nicolás and her own sister, in bed together". I'm gob smacked; this was the last thing I expected! While clearing the deck for Gabriel (so to speak), there is still the pesky issue of Iker being Nicolas' son. Adriana stealing the money is another black mark against her but perhaps not the last.

Loved "Sergio Challenges His Father or Everyone Shushes Estrella". Lorenzo is just as big of a head case as Sergio is. Both are an annoyance at this point so I hope Estrella comes to her senses and goes home.

Pascual grows a spine making "...it clear that he is no puppy but a full fledged man. He will go out with whoever he wants". It's about time. Finally, someone stands up to spoiled, entitled Brisa. I smiled with glee when Perlita tore up Valentin's contract! Brisa was fit to be tied.

Comcast had tonight listed as episode #73 which goes along with what you've said Jarifa. I hate the thought of anything else being cut, hopefully the shears have been shelved :)

Hulya the flower lady is funny. I love her coquettish looks at Hasan. They’re just the kind of looks to make a man run the other way but she thinks she’s the bee’s knees. He’s just not into you, honey. Hasan is very gentlemanly to her and it’s fun to watch him try to scrape her off politely as possible. I liked the idea that maybe Dilaver could go get flowers daily so she’ll stop coming to the restaurant. And do the birds travel daily to and from the restaurant?

I wonder what Hasan meant when he said he hoped Sulieman likes his shipment. He feels Sulieman lost his son for him and I’m thinking there’s some revenge coming up. Will the shipment blow up and take Sulieman with it? Also, I think it was the kidnapping of Deniz by a different mafioso that set off the chain of events that ended up with Atila thinking he had to leave town.

Loved the story about the princess in the tower.

Yeah, Karsu’s going to end up getting a restraining order against her. Being a cleaning lady at the school was a bad idea, it was bound to be discovered. Deniz didn’t seem very surprised to see her suddenly appear in the hallway. And how did he know to keep it a secret from his dad? Maybe they cut part of the bathroom scene.

Tia Turkan is one of my favorites. Her expressions when they’re watching Pool Bod Guy! I’m with you, Kat – Not a fan of that huge tattoo.

IIRC Suleyman did orchestrate the kidnapping of Deniz to force Atilla and Hasan to do another job. I wonder what booby trap the good bad guys have prepared to get the bad bad guys!

Watching the girls of all ages watching Pool Guy was a hoot! Not liking the big tattoo, however! It was funny when Turkan gifted him pajamas!

Karsu is in trouble now with the law for not abiding by the decree. She is unable to function without those kids! I hope for a resolution soon. They need some dirt on Reha!!!

Hulya may have gone too far. How will Dilaver & Co keep her out of the Kebab restaurant? She is quite resourceful. I loved Hasan’s happy little smile when he gets more evidence of Filiz’s jealousy!

Nice to hear about Atilla and his side-kick. Really miss him!!!!

This novela has Engin Akyurek (Fatmagul/Hija del Embajador) in it. It was very popular around the world. It was on Netflix and Vix until recently and is available on YouTube in various languages, dubbing, and closed caption versions. It’s a great tale. Imperio de Mentiras was a recent remake. I’ve seen both. They share much of the same story, but both are worth watching for the differences. Here’s a chance to see the original bien acompañado.

So it seems like two months have passed. Funny how we have repeated plot lines/themes throughout. Just some of them: Brisa and Erika and Adriana being the women who will stop at nothing to get their man. Estrella and Marina asking for time and no pressure from their suitors Sergio and Nicolás who agree but continue to pressure them anyway. All of the good guys being incredibly stupid in dealing with women who do not have their best interests at heart. Then there is the universal theme of unrequited love and longing. Almost everyone is suffering from that.

I wonder if Brisa will be happy just have a man of her own no matter who he is. It seems as long as a man pays her minimal attention, she is on board. When this started, a guy like Pascual would never have been on her list. Is her sudden interest in him real or just another bandaid until somebody more attractive comes around? Run Pascual run!

How long until Perla learns the ring is not hers?
How long until Estrella and Fabián actually talk???
How long until Marina finds out about the affair her husband and sister were having that could have been the event that precipitated her misfortune?

Diana, glad you found the recap useful! Things are really rolling along in the last 20 episodes. I, too, hope that “the shears have been shelved.”
You weren’t the only one that was gobsmacked by the revelation of the affair between Adriana and Nicolás. I NEVER expected that. As for “Stuck in Groundhog Day!”, you can say that over and over again for so many in this novela.

Valentin simply cannot afford to pay for the ring. While the rational thing would be for him to tell Perla, I'm sure more hijinx will ensue before that is revealed! :)

I'm still reeling that Nicolas was so deceitful...the earlier scenes of him pining away for Marina seemed so genuine! The truth will be revealed it's just a question of when. Will Marina's memory come back all at once or will selective bits and pieces be revealed? I'm chomping at the bit to find out where she was all the years after her woman overboard occurred.

Thanks, Jarifa, great recap of a great episode! I was waiting to find a flaw in Nicholas, and now we have it. Gabriel will eventually be back in the picture-if he quits confiding in Brisa!

I wonder why Juanjo lost interest in Brisa. I hope that wasn’t something that was cut. I’m glad Pascual stood up for himself.

I’m afraid our main characters are both going to end up in the relationships we were hoping would end. Estrella heard Sergio’s dad declare he expected Sergio to form a family if he expected to inherit. I can’t believe that didn’t make her think or realize what Sergio was up to. And Erika is still up to her same pushiness.

I don’t like Meche when she’s angry over perceived mistreatment of one of her daughters. She acted the same way with Gabriel as she did with Valentin. She really should tell Perla about the ring mixup.

Well, Karsu blew it. She’s not going to be able to see her kids. Reha is very suspicious and will probably find out the truth. I can’t believe he is doing this to the kids and their mother. At least Denis told his teacher that his stepmother was mean to him.

The ladies watching the new neighbor is funny. The pajamas even funnier!

Kat, I agree with you about Hulya. Not sure why Hasan can’t just tell her to leave him alone. I thought she brings him flowers regularly. But if he’s going to send Dilaver to pick them up it seems like he orders them.

It’s funny how Hasan is with the birds. Maggie, I’m pretty sure they commute to the restaurant daily!

The rest of you are probably right in that Karsu is going to get into trouble for taking that job at the posh school to see her children.

Reha and Lale's mother didn't seem so bad to me. How did they turn out that way? Reha does clearly love his children. But his spite because she had the temerity to fall for another man overrides his children's need for their mother, especially Deniz, who's clearly unhappy being away from his mother. And it seems self-centered Reha will continue to miss how Hande is NOT cut out to be a stepmother.

Tilsim did seem happy to see her mother, but she's daddy's little girl to the bone and is happy to be surrounded by luxury again. Sigh. I missed it, but someone here noticed that Tilsim wanted to keep it from the posh girls that her mother was working with her hands.

I guess Hasan is just incapable of telling a woman to buzz off. Was there a mention of looking for security cameras. It would be great if she were caught red handed on camera tearing up the letter and ticket

I also really miss Cevdet. The guy was a complete charmer pretending to own the bookstore and helping Atilla out with the plot outlines as part of Atilla's plan to pretend to be writing a book.

"I’m afraid our main characters are both going to end up in the relationships we were hoping would end." It sure seems that way. Unfortunately, the villains have more energy and smarts than the protagonists. Yes, Meche should tell Perla if Valentín doesn't promptly . The mix-up has gone on long enough.

Adriana Resorts to Murder
Adriana tells Juanjo that she wants him to kill Marina. Yes, she is her half-sister. He would rather hire someone to do it.She doesn't trust anyone to do it but him. When he continues to balk, she tells him that Sergio could easily find out abut his secrets.

To facilitate the execution, Adriana meets with Marina down at the promenade. Juanjo is seated off to the side. Adriana tells Marina that Nicolás is not the man that Marina thinks he is. In the ten years she was gone, Adriana was the one loving him and being with him. Marina has no interest in listening to what else she has to say but wants Adriana to know that she and Nicolás have decided to give their relationship another try. Adriana turns to signal Juanjo and then tells Marina that she has given her no other choice. She and Nicolás are destined to be together and she will not be giving him up. Adriana turns to leave as does Marina. Juanjo gets up with the gun in his hand. Felipe sees Marina and greets her complicating Juanjo's shot. He finally shoots and Felipe and Marina run for cover. They come out and go running off. It looks like Marina has been hit in the side.

Everything else:

Perla tells Valentín that she would rather have a wedding with no white dress, no food or reception rather than have him work for those TRAITORS! Brisa leaves insulted!

Lorenzo goes to see Estrella where she works to apologize for how he acted. He explains that before she and Azul arrived on the scene, his son was a very different man who didn't care about much even though he had tried to teach him about responsibility and the importance of family. Then there was the tragedy of his pregnant novia dying. He can understand how Estrella left him when she became pregnant considering the kind of person his son was. Estrella makes it clear that it was Sergio who left her. Lorenzo is not pressuring her but he would love to see his son and her become life long partners. He can't wait to see Azul again.

Fabián goes to Mexico City and after is meetings on the preservation of the red snapper, he goes to see Estrella. He parks outside of where she is staying and sees her talking to Sergio. He also sees Sergio kiss her.

When Estrella goes inside, Sergio confronts him telling him to go back to his town because he and Estrella are back together. As a fuming Fabián leaves the scene, Estrella comes out and asks Sergio if that was Fabián's SUV. He says no, it wasn't. Later she wonders if Sergio told her the truth.

Estrella and Sergio join Azul at her school for a "Field Day" and participate in all of the activities. Azul loves them being there together.

Iker is missing Marina and tells his father who tells him to text her. Gabriel adds that she loves him and he will never lose her. Iker texts Marina and she answers saying she is coming over. Iker has made her a bracelet so she doesn't forget him. She could never forget her pirate. She then tells him and Gabriel that she has decided to give Nicolás another chance. Iker is so upset when he hears this that he has to go to his room. She thanks Gabriel for everything he did for her. She wishes things had been different. They tell each other to take care of themselves. Gabriel is left with his thoughts.

Estrella tells her mother that she has not been able to forget Fabián.

Fabián tells his father that Estrella is busy forming a family with Sergio so it is time for him to move on.
 

A.MAR Parte 2

Fabián is left all alone in the house. After his day, he needs some company His father is on a date with Meche. Yazmín is at a girls' night out with Erika. Anyone else he calls is not available to do anything. He remembers Yazmín's invitation and is so desperate that he goes to hang out with his daughter and Erika and they entertain themselves singing karaoke. Of course, Erika chooses a romantic ballad for him to sing.

Pascual has Brisa's number. Brisa tries to question Pascual after his date with Soraya. He says it was great but he refuses to add any of the details she wants. She asks him to go to a movie with her that night. He says he can't. She asks about the next evening. He says they will have to wait and see. She is left desperate for his attention.

Jarifa, this was stellar.

Some of the puzzle pieces are coming together; others are agonizingly still askew and you laid everything out beautifully.

Things have gone awry as expected. In Fabian's eyes, Estrella seemingly chooses Sergio while Marina (rather halfheartedly) decides on Nicolas. Fabian and Gabriel left to lick their wounds. Gabriel stifles his emotions and is gracious while Fabian seemingly feels he's lost the battle, if not the war. Unable to handle a bit of alone time, he ends up with his daughter and perennial albatross Erika, singing karaoke. A well done effective scene, showcasing David's singing; he does have a great voice.

"In the ten years she was gone, Adriana was the one loving him and being with him". First, I would have thought the guilt of his affair would have been crushing, yet Nicolas obviously got over his "grief" and married Adriana. Given the circumstances, it seems odd that Nicolas never suspected her of having something to do with Marina's disappearance. Finally, where on earth was Marina during that decade? Inquiring minds need to know.

Juanjo is a jerk and a coward. Because of this, he would hardly be an effective cold blooded killer. The usually smart, cold and calculating Adriana made a poor decision utlizing him as a murderer. I also thought Marina was hit at first but didn't see any blood so am not sure??

I have no idea who Felipe is. What did I miss??

The school field day seemed fun...I also enjoyed Pascual's toying with Brisa and leaving her at loose ends. This, after Brisa reamed her out (and but good!)

Jarifa, thank you for all your well written details; I would be lost without them! Can't wait for tomorrow night.

Diana, all we know about Felipe is that he was a friend of both Nicolás and Antonia/Marina back in the time that Nicolas and Antonia were together. In the present, he gave them a place to stay..

It’s amazing to me how fast new places get decorated in this show. Just look at Reha and Hande’s place! And we saw that Pool Guy’s place was immediately designer-perfect the other night. He just moved in! I wonder what his source of income is. He doesn’t seem to work.

Even I, a city girl, know to put kindling to start a fire. And apparently the kindling was right at hand. The group seems to be warming to him except of course Irmak. Ipek is ever hopeful.

Filiz and Tia Turkan are so sweet together.

Lale has really turned into an evil character, but her one saving virtue is that she loves the kids and it looks like she’s sticking up for them. I wonder if Hande is going to take Silin out for her meet-up with her girlfriend. And she’s not lifting a finger to do the evening for Tilsin’s schoolmates. Do they really need decorations for a dinner for junior high kids?

The police really focused in on Hasan. They said there’s a code and other mafiosi have families so they wouldn’t take the chance. Hasan has family too! I wonder why they care so much who ratted on Suleyman. Who cares? They caught him. That should be enough. Giving a tipoff isn’t a crime.

I think it’s too early for Hasan to be thinking about rings. They just held hands for the first time!

Okay, I rewatched the shooting scene and Marina WAS not hit. She said she was okay but what I thought was a blood spot on her side was the end of her hair. Yay! we are not ending up in a hospital.

Diana, so much stuffed in one episode! So good!

I was entertained with David Zepeda singing, also. ( he does have a great voice) It is just too bad that his character was unable to entertain himself (notice how there is hardly ever a television set in any of these novelas?) and ended up with his daughter and the "perennial albatross Erika". Bad choice. LOL

Also, I am so enjoying Pascual giving Brisa a hard time. She is incorrigible.

One thing I find entertaining in this novela is the character development. Most of these characters are portrayed with all of the nuances of real people.

Thanks, Jarifa, you keep turning out these great recaps. I continue to enjoy this show. I’m just surprised that Estrella and Fabian both believed Sergio. He makes my skin crawl. I wonder who will decide not to believe him first. Estrella knows him best, and knows about his dad wanting his son to have a family before he leaves the company to him. When will Estrella wake up. Meanwhile, Fabian still sees Erika round the clock and lets her drape her arms over him while he’s FaceTiming Estrella. Sometimes I think these characters don’t deserve a HEA.

I like Pascual playing hard to get. It does look like Brisa is now persuing him. She needs to change a lot before I can like her!

Juanjo is not a killer. Not sure why Adriana would think someone could just become one. I guess because she could easily do it.

Karsu

I was glad when Karsu spoke to Lale and wanted her to protect her kids. But then Lale turns around and agrees to follow her. Glad Omar warned her.

I enjoyed the lighthearted moments that are there every night. I liked that the new guy put on his pajama pants before joining the ladies! But Lale comes over to complain! I wonder if she’ll ever turn on her brother and side with Karsu.

It looks like Hande is going to take Selin with her and go out. At least she’s smart enough not to leave her alone.

Wilson wanting her friends over was fine. But she was thinking of the last time, with her mother. I wonder if she’s making some kind of competition between Hande and Karsu. If so, I hope Hande messes up big time!

So funny, ou are playing my song! As for Brisa, "She needs to change a lot before I can like her!" Every time I think she has improved, she does something really horrible.

Loved Filiz distracting Lale so Karsu could get away and get to work. Lale continues to disappoint by letting Reha order her around. She gets exasperated by does his bidding every time.

What a character switch with Hasan! We began loathing him for having ordered Atilla to kill Mert and telling Atilla he had to marry Lale because Karsu, with 3 children, was not appropriate. Now he's the silver haired swain who's courteous to a fault and winning over Filiz.

How long can Karsu's job at the school last? She's already gotten one chewing out for leaving the job to go to the hospital.

Tilsim was remembering not getting all the food she wanted at the schoolgirls gathering at Filiz's house. Not sure if I remember correctly, but I thought something was said about Karsu and her family being in financial trouble and Tilsim connecting the dots. I wish she'd realize that the reason they struggled was supporting 3 children without any child support.

A.MAR #72 (original #75) Parte 1 Notes form the Couch . . .

Life Moves On
Estrella decides to text Fabián to see if it was his SUV she had seen in Mexico City. After writing it, she deletes it instead of sending it.

The morning after having spent the night with Erika, Fabián tells her that he never should have let things get that far with her the night before since she feels more for him than he does for her. Erika knows that and is only asking that he give their relationship another chance.

When at Fabián's house to see Gonzalo, Meche hears Yazmín tell Gonzalo that her father spent the night at Erika's. On her way home, she sees Erika in her bathrobe saying goodbye to Fabián. Meche calls Estrella to let her know what is going on with Fabián and Erika because she is sure she will see Fabián at Perla's wedding the next day.

Fabián tells his father that he is moving on and that he is going to give a relationship with Erika another chance. She has been so good with Yazmín. . .

After the bachelor and the bachelorette parties, Estrella and Fabián talk on the beach about how things have been going. She says things are being handled in a civilized manner in Mexico City. The situation is definitely better for Azul. Fabián confronts her with a very direct question he has fro her. How can she give another chance to a man like Sergio who is bent on destroying their town? She thinks he is the last person to criticize her since he has Erika consoling him. He reminds her that she was the one who left town. She says he knew why she did it. He informs her that he came to see her in Mexico City but instead he saw Sergio kissing her on the street. She tries to explain that things are not like that. Fabián says he made a mistake when it comes to her. He thought that she was one of them. He turns and walks away.

Perla Learns the Truth
Nemesio tells Valentín, on the eve of his wedding, that the time has come to pay up or he will get the ring from Perla. Meche comes through to save the day with a very special ring that Ulises bought her that is not very special any more knowing now what she does about him. Nemesio accepts the ring as payment for the sapphire ring. He promises never to tell anyone about it and how the proposal was just one big misunderstanding. Valentín can only imagine how Perla's heart would have been broken if she knew the truth. Well, she does know the truth now because she has overheard it all. Valentín tries to explain but in the end, Perla takes off the ring and gives it to Teresita saying it was always hers anyway. She leaves.

Estrella talks to her sister and tells her she should not let anyone affect her decision on whether she gets married or not. She needs to weigh the importance of what happened against the love she has for Valentín.

Brisa is on a Mission
Brisa asks Pascual to help her zip up her dress. As he does, they are suddenly attracted to each other. He thinks about her wonderful fragrance and her soft shoulders. She can only think of his strong hands. . . .

At the bachelorette party, Brisa has arranged for a male exotic dancer to entertain Perla and the guests. As he is dancing, she suddenly sees Pascual
in his place and is captivated. She calls Pascual and tells him that she is going home and wants him to meet her. It is a matter of life and death. He tells the guys at the bachelor party that he has to leave. When he gets home, he asks her if there is a fire, a power outage, a gas leak? She says nothing like that but she has a huge problem. She cannot stop thinking about him. She grabs him and kisses him.

The next morning, Brisa tells him that they have to keep what happened in the house, in the house. He asks if she is embarrassed to be associated with him. She says no, but reminds him about how tongues would wag since he was her sister's boyfriend. They will have a "clandestine" romance. He repeats "clandestine" and they kiss.
 

A.MAR Parte 2

Everything else:
Adriana is beyond angry with Juanjo when she finds out that he has failed in his mission and didn't now how to shoot a gun in the first place. She says at least he could have practiced. Now Nicolás will be with Marina 24/7 to protect her. Adriana hangs up on him and thinks that she will have to change her strategy. If she cannot take her sister's life, maybe she can offer her another one without a peso from her inheritance and far away from Nicolás.

Iker and Azul are happy to see each other.

Iker and Gabriel imagine a sailing trip they would like to make some day. They would be two pirates sailing the seven seas.

Rosalba warns Erika to watch Fabián because Estrella is back in town. Erika assures her that she has it all under control.

Meche and Gonzalo give Perla and Valentín advice on how to have a good marriage. The women are having their bachelorette party at Erika's restaurant while the men are at the union office.

Erika and Estrella run in to each other at the bachelorette party. They have a courteous conversation until Rosalba inserts herself making sure that Estrella knows that Erika and Fabián are going out together. Meche appears to defend Estrella calling Rosalba a magpie who has escaped her cage. Estrella has no intention of ruining Perla's party. Estrella and Erika prevent their mothers from coming to blows and break up the argument.

Jarifa, as always, your insight and clarity highlighted every important word and event. Your writing conveyed the gamut of emotions exceptionally well.

"Fabián says he made a mistake when it comes to her. He thought that she was one of them". The unmitigated gaul to turn things around on Estrella when he should have been groveling at her feet. Fabian THINKS he sees Estrella kissing Sergio so sleeps with Erika to console himself. I admit I was flabbergasted and SO disappointed. Vile enough but then he quickly pivots and decides to give her another chance because she "has been so good with Yazmin". Excuse me while I gag. No longer a galan and dead to me.

Timing (or lack thereof) played such a big part in tonight's events. Overhearing Yaz's comment to Fabian and seeing Fabian and Erika in the flesh (so to speak) told Meche everything she did not want to know or accept. She did the right thing by telling Estrella. Perla learns the truth, "how the proposal was just one big misunderstanding", which actually sounded far worse than it was. Valentin loves Perla, it just would have taken him a bit more time to propose, but I've no doubt it would have occurred sooner rather than later.

Thank you for noting Gabriel and Iker's conversation...I was distracted by Gabriel's good looks (clad in khaki) and loving demeanor. A brief scene but a welcome bright spot. Speaking of, I had to laugh when Brisa saw Pascual's face on the exotic dancer. That was a cute bit. Brisa seems to be smitten but the proof in the pudding will be what she does (or doesn't do) the next time she sees Gabriel.

Adriana is dreaming if she thinks Marina would ever consider leaving; money seems unimportant to her. I can't wait for Marina's memory to return...

I fully expect there to be a full on Rosalba/Meche rumble. I think Meche can take her...

I found tonight quite dark and am yearning for light and better days to come..

Well, Tilsin got her party, and it was everything she hoped for. All the girls are posting pictures online. She’s going to be the most popular girl at school! Hande gets Reha calling her the mother of the year. Never mind that she didn’t keep an eye on the little girl who wandered off after a dog.

So Atila is going to Spain and then America. I wonder what he will do there. I wonder why the police are sniffing around Hasan. I guess they think something big came down that made Atila leave the country.

Pool guy sure is trying to melt Irmak. It seems to be working a tiny bit.

Looks like Reha is going to catch Karsu at school. There goes her visitation!

 

Karsu

When the cops in plain clothes go to Hasan's restaurant and ask for tea as they aren't hungry, Hasan yells, Omer, 2 teas for these gentlemen. I'm like how is Omer in 2 places at once. But a grey haired waiter serves them the tea. Now Filiz is on the cops radar.

I still can't believe how quickly Tilsim made friends in her new school. I thought maybe it was the dance girls. Maybe they attend her new school. It's probably where the rich girls go to school.

Wow, the gall of Hulya. Orphaned nephew getting married, his family has an accident and can't attend the wedding and he needs another witness, can Hasan be the witness? ( He should send Dilaver if he agrees to this idiotic request!). Sounds like the wedding is very small or one of the other invites should be promoted to witness instead of a complete stranger. This Hulya line just gets more stupid every week.

And he falls into her trap and Filiz sees them leave together. That miserable liar she mutters.

Why does pool guy (Kivanc) call Irmak Martha? Is that what he called her in the club? He sure does seem to like her. Go ahead and hit me, I like it rough! Mert and I both laughed.

Kivanc expecting Omer to help him clean his house! Wow. He didn't even tip him for delivering a misdirected package. He needs to get the cleaning lady from the complex !. Well at least he did offer to pay Omer. He tells Kivanc he cleaned just to be nice. Omer is too nice for his own good. But Kivanc is taking him to the discotheque tonight as payment. (Omer is promoted to wingman)

Telling your kids to lie will really backfire on Karsu.

Thanks Jarifa, that was a tough episode to watch. Too many misunderstandings, or jumping to conclusions. I was really disappointed in Fabian. He jumped right into between with Erika. A gallan is not supposed to do that. I never understood why he believed Sergio anyway.

Brisa and Pascual were cute, but I still have trouble with them being together. At least it was one of the lighter moments!

I’m hoping Erika is not really their sister. Why do they believe everything Rosalina tells them!

I think Valentin should marry Perla with Meche’s ring. That will be meaningful.

I hate that Karsu will probably lose her visitation rights. But she was foolish to expect her secret to remain between she and the kids. Reha is so awful. I hope he finds out about Hande losing Silin. And the way she treats the younger kids. I’d really like for Tilsim to turn on Hande. She certainly is old enough to realize this is why her mother’s marriage broke up.

So tired of Hulya and her games!

Unsure if I misunderstood but I think Perla and Valentin were supposed to be getting married right away. Are they sure the bride is going up??

Both comments hit it right on the head with Fabián. I could have taken his reaction much better if he hadn't just been in bed with Erika who was more than happy to allow herself to be used.

By the same token I am so sick of wishy washy Estrella allowing Azul to run her life and never being able to make a hard and fast decision about Fabián. Why didn't she text him? Was it just too much work? That is what is seemed like. She needs to stop hemming and hawing, make a decision about Fabián and stick with it. She and Fabián are two very frustrating characters. They are too much like real people.

IMHO, Fabián is as much of a prima donna as Sergio at this point.

I loved the Brisa/Pascual interlude as well as Iker and Gabeiel's sailing plans for some day.

I think it would be great if Perla would be married with Meche's ring but only if she is given the choice between the two rings. She might like the other one better. She deserves something extra-special for the rigamarole goofy Valentín has put he through.

It will be interesting to see if the wedding goes through. You never know what to expect in this novela. Can't wait until tonight.

I’ve decided that Karsu has a low IQ. She hasn’t learned anything.

The cops got Suleyman and now they are trying to piece together who else might be involved. They probably don’t believe Hasan is gone totally legit. Let’s hope that Suleyman doesn’t find out that Hasan is the snitch. Hasan and Dilaver mentioned using Omer for something again. Can’t remember what that was.

“I'm like how is Omer in 2 places at once”. lol, could there be more than one Omer?

Kat, Kivanc thinks Irmak is obsessed with him. He teases her by calling her Martha, the stalking character in Baby Reindeer. ITA the nerve of Kivanc asking Omer to clean. Omer’s mother is the one the residents hire to clean. All that being said, Kivanc and Irmak will probably end up together.

Filiz and Hasan: I guess it’s tough to start dating after being off the market for so long. Hulya is so over the top. Hasan is helpless around her.

In the Turkish, Tilsim addresses Hande as “abla”, older sister, not aunt. I think Hande would be upset to be called aunt. It's hard for me to watch Tilsim.

Baby reindeer still means nothing to me. The best I could come up with was Martha from the Bible complaining about having to do all the cooking while her sister sat at Jesus feet listening to his stories. But Turkey isn't a Christian country so that seemed far fetched. Dondi to the rescue again
