A.MAR #74 (original #76) Parte 1 Notes from the Couch . . . .
Perla's Decision
It is the morning of Perla's wedding and she is not answering calls from Valentín. Meche discovers that Perla is gone and her wedding dress lies crumpled on the floor. She is nowhere to be found.
Everyone goes out looking for her. Valentín is beyond upset. He finally finds her at an isolated spot on the beach. She bets that Estrella told him where she would be. This is a spot she used to go to when she was upset as a kid. She doesn't want to talk to him. She wants to be alone but he insists on talking. She asks him if he remembers when she was 15 and her parents threw her a party.He remembers she was wearing a pink dress. She felt ridiculous like a cake. She does remember that everyone was fighting to dance with Brisa and nobody paid her any attention. He was the only one who asked her to dance and from that day on she has been in love with him, being the fool she is. She now knows why he asked her to dance. He felt sorry for her. That is why he wants to marry her now. All she inspires in him is pity.
Valentín tries to convince Perla that he doesn't feel sorry for her nor does he pity her. She just doesn't know what kind of future their marriage can have when it was based on a big lie. He knows he should have told her about the ring before. He asks her to forgive him. He apologizes from the bottom of his soul. She isn't sure he really wants to marry her. He insists he does and wants to have a family with her and to grow old with her. She asks him to leave her alone. He thinks that deep down in spite of it all, she wants to marry him. He will be waiting for her at the altar.
A visibly shaken Valentín goes home and tells Teresita, Nemesio and Oliver that Perla needs to be alone to think. He doesn't know if she will show up at the church but he refuses to give up. He will be there waiting for her.
Valentín has been waiting for what seems like forever at the altar at the church. The priest tells hm that he has another event happening in an hour so he needs to leave. What Pascual doesn't know is that Perla has gone home and is conferring with her mother. Pascual thanks everyone for coming and confesses that because of a big mistake he made, there will be no wedding ceremony. He admits that he has a bad habit of screwing things up all the time. Suddenly Perla appears at the door of the church with her mother. She announces that she is there to marry the love of her life Valentín and tells them to start the wedding march!
Estrella Gets an Earful
While looking for her sister, Estrella talks to Gabriel and finds out that the traditional fishing business is suffering greatly. (Uh, like she had no clue???)
This week was okay but last week, they caught about half the fish they should have. He reminds her she hasn't been around for a couple of months and things are critical. She says that in spite of it all, people look like they are content. Gabriel laughs and says that is only because of Fabián. He reluctantly
tells her that Fabián is trying to help everyone in town. He is using his own money to help those who need it most and has set up a system of vouchers with the municipality for those in need sp they can eat at the restaurant at his expense. They agree that he is very noble but he could end up bankrupt.

As Fabián, Oliver, Gonzalo and Pascual discuss the lost bride, they all witness Sergio arriving at Meche's house. As Sergio saunters up to the door, Estrella meets him and tells him to come in.
Sergio suggests that tomorrow she and Azul join him so they can spend the day together. Estrella makes it clear that she cannot go on with this. He asks her what she means by "this". She says she means "the two of them." She says reality really hit her hard when she returned to her town, reconnected with her people, with the fishermen and saw what is happening with such a lack of income. She cannot be with the person who is destroying the wonderful town she grew up in and where her family and friends still live. Sergio says it isn't him. He isn't Alfa Sur. Alfa Sur is a subsidiary of Alfa Pacífico. His father is behind it all. Sergio says he has tried to help the people. He offered the fishermen jobs. Her own sister works for them. They are still hiring people. She only needs to tell him who needs a job. Estrella says she is sorry but she just cannot. He asks her to say goodbye to Azul for him and to give her a kiss. He leaves.
After he leaves, he talks to uanjo and tells him to convoke a meeting ASAP. He is coming into the office. He then finds his car covered with fish innards. He wipes off enough with his hands to get into the car. He wipes his hands on a red rag and then puts it in his car (???) After he drives away, Pascual, Oliver and some other fishermen have a good laugh.
Porfirio gets a call to come to Sergio's meeting. He is in Rosalba's hotel room with her. She wantsto know all about Sergio and the meeting. Porfirio is not talking.
Back at the office and stinking of fish, Sergio tells Porfirio that the fishermen in town are now doing "funny things" to keep him away from Estrella like covering his car with fish innards, fish eyes, scales, etc. Adriana tells him to be patient because in a short time they will not be a problem. It seems that Alfa Sur is buying up property in town which will be razed to build a fish processing plant. The good thing is that people in town are so desperate that they are willing to sell their houses for next to nothing. When they are finished the town will be no more.
Marina: More at a Loss Than Ever
Marina tells Nicolás that she is getting disillusioned because so much time has gone by since she has remembered anything new. She only wants to find her son. He suggests she make another visit to her therapist. He is there for her and is confident they will find their son.
Marina visits her therapist and tells her about he attack. Yes, she filed a police report. She feels that her sister Adriana was involved in the incident somehow. it. Her therapist tells her to let the authorities handle it. Speculation is the worst thing she can do right now.

A.MAR Parte 3
Marina tells her that she needs to know if her son survived the hurricane. Under hypnosis, Marina remembers the face of her little Nico. He is seated in his little bear onesie. They are in a very strange and dark place. They can hear the wind and the rain hitting the windows. Her baby is very scared. Marina starts to get more and more upset. The therapist tells her to relax and reminds her she can open her eyes anytime she wants and she does. The therapist thinks she made a big advance in this session even though Marina doesn't agree. The therapist informs her that this is a very long process. It moves at its own pace and is different for everyone. Marina says that these regressions leave her with a sense of fear that doesn't leave her. She has this need to care for her child. The therapist calms her down with deep breaths, feeling the fear and then letting it go. The therapist is an optimist and tells Marina she is a lot stronger than she thinks she is.
Iker has called Marina to meet him at the restaurant. She hopes that this means that he has forgiven her. He says that his father spoke to him and he thinks that he is ready to accept it. He now understands that she doesn't want to be with his dad and him. They are no longer a family. He tells her about the sailing trip he and his father are planning all along the coast. Marina wants him to know that she adores him and that will never change no matter what. Iker says that he also loves her but now he understands that she is not his mother and he cannot make her love him as if she were. He tells her he needs to leave to get ready for the wedding and is gone. She looks after him longingly.
Adriana pays Marina a visit. She doesn't like how their last chat ended. Marina tells her to go. She is not welcome. Does she really believe that she doesn't know that she was behind the attempt on her life? Adriana asks what "attempt" would that be??? Marina is sick of her pretending she doesn't know. She is sure that Adriana would kill her if that would mean she could stay with Nicolás. Adriana says she would never dirty her hands with somebody as basic as Marina is but she is right about one thing. She is capable of many things in order to get Nicolás back. She asks what would Marina be capable of doing if she told her that her son Nico didn't die in that hurricane and, like her, miraculously survived? Marina is not taking the bait. Adriana says this is the last chance she is giving her. When Marina is ready, she should contact her because she knows exactly where her son is and has been all of these years.
If she accepts her conditions, she will be reunited with him very soon. Marina is left more tortured than ever.
Everything Else
Estrella finds her mother leaving flowers at her father's grave. They both thought that Perla could have been there. It turns out that in spite of it all, Meche makes sure that Ulises has fresh flowers. She still cannot believe that Ulises had a daughter with Rosalba of all people. Estrella reminds her that it was she (Mercedes) that her father chose to have a family with and a lovely family they are! Later Meche runs into Teresita who insists that she take her ring back. She encourages Meche to remember the good times with Ulises.
Pascual and Brisa are kissing at the union office when Oliver and Gonzalo walk in on them. Oliver asks what they are doing. Pascual pretends to be holding Brisa and comforting her as she cries over her sister being missing.Oliver buys the act but Gonzalo looks like he doesn't.
Gabriel sells the engagement ring he bought for Marina. The cash he gets is for the sailing trip. Iker is impressed by all of the bills. Now they need to find a sail boat.
At the wedding, Iker sits with Marina. Erika notices that Estrella and Fabián keep glancing at each other.

Karsu
This episode was hard to watch because the kids, especially Deniz, are becoming traumatized with their separation from their mother. Reha set up Karsu to be arrested in the parking lot in front of the kids and, even worse (for Tilsim) in front of her friends. It looks like Reha has gone too far this time. Even Lale is impressed with Karsu’s gumption at staying close to the kids. The school guidance counselor is not impressed with Reha. The police seemed somewhat sympathetic as well. Hande is an awful stepmother. Now she has to deal with Deniz’ psychologist visits!
I liked the advice the lawyer gave Karsu about getting her life in order with job, home, etc. It will be interesting to see what she does to comply.
Romance #1: Hasan finally realizes he was played by flower lady. There was no orphan nephew, Dilaver (I think) finds out. Filiz accepts a dinner date at a fancy restaurant.
Budding Romance #2: Kivanc seems fascinated with the girls, almost as much as they are with him! He was listening to Karsu intently, but he really seems to like Irmak. I find myself starting to like him!
Babachita

Good grief, Reha had Karsu taken by the police right in front of her kids, and also in front of girls that Tilsin is trying to impress. They’re traumatized and he’s blaming it all on her – she’s so stubborn! How on earth did Reha come up with a kidnapping charge? And what was whispered in the police guy’s ear? Has Hasan pulled some strings? Is Atila monitoring things from afar?
And for his next trick, Reha’s going to try to trade his sister for a business deal. I predict that this will be the last straw for Lale. She already is worried about the kids and sees through Hande. I’m sure she doesn’t want to be Cotton Queen to a man she finds repulsive.
To add to that, Reha gave Hande Karsu’s old ring. We didn’t see the fallout from that. Was that scene cut?
How did Dilaver find out the supposed orphaned nephew (was it nephew?) of the flower lady isn’t an orphan? I guess Hasan remembered the guy’s name from the ceremony. I wish I had a Dilaver in my life to solve all mysteries and problems. And an Omer to clean up my house.
Karsu seems to have lost some of her gravitas. I miss it.
One happy bit – there was a cat running across the school yard. I really enjoy the cat sightings!

I wonder about romance #2. Kivanc will really have to do a complete 180 to have any luck with Irmak.

I almost dreaded watching this episode. I knew Karsu was being arrested because of the preview from the night before. I think Hasan is working behind the scenes. I almost think the lawyer was hinting that Karsu should remarry so she has a stable home, like Reha did. He also suggested she have a business and income. I bet Hasan can help her there
Hasan is like the girl in the musical Oklahoma, I'm just a girl (guy) who can't say no....any damsel in distress he has to help. Well Filiz has a house full to rescue
I liked Kivank's newest pick up line. A widower with 5 (lowered to 3 on Irmak's suggestion) kids he's raising on his own after watching his beloved wife die from cancer, probably. Oh, and he tells Filiz he doesn't have to work because he lives off his investments. I wonder if Atila is paying him to keep an eye on Karsu and family or if he really is a trust fund adult or guy who just invests wisely.
The cotton king falling in love with Lale at first sight! He should meet Karsu. Then stick it to Reha by wooing her instead. Lale needs to turn on her brother. Or Hande needs to be caught in her cruelty and neglect. Can you imagine having to ask to use the bathroom. No wonder Deniz is wetting the bed again.

Jarifa, this was a beautifully written short story. Your writing is exceptional, I savored every single word.
I laughed out loud at "back at the office and stinking of fish..." The fishermens' juvenile prank was SO enjoyable.
"She still cannot believe that Ulises had a daughter with Rosalba of all people". Well of course he didn't, I'd bet the farm Ulises had nothing at all to do with Rosalba. Rosalba's vicious lies will hopefully be exposed ere this ends.
Perla made it to the church on time! True love prevailed over misunderstandings and white lies. Perla was overly emotional but it's so good to see a happy ending!
I completely agree that Gonzalo knew exactly what happened between Brisa and Pascual. And he looked a bit concerned (rightly so, talk about polar opposites!) :)
Estrella finally came to her senses so Sergio is now going to move in for the kill.
Marina's memory returning is going agonizingly slow...
Ahhh, "She asks what would Marina be capable of doing if she told her that her son Nico didn't die in that hurricane and, like her, miraculously survived?" The bait has been proferred but Marina isn't biting. I'm speculating Adriana will tell her where her son is but Marina would have to promise to stay away from Nicolas. I laughed out loud at "back at the office and stinking of fish..." The fishermens' juvenile prank was SO enjoyable.
"She still cannot believe that Ulises had a daughter with Rosalba of all people". Well of course he didn't, I'd bet the farm Ulises had nothing at all to do with Rosalba. Rosalba's vicious lies will hopefully be exposed ere this ends.
Perla made it to the church on time! True love prevailed over misunderstandings and white lies. Perla was overly emotional but it's so good to see a happy ending!
I completely agree that Gonzalo knew exactly what happened between Brisa and Pascual. And he looked a bit concerned (rightly so, talk about polar opposites!) :)
Estrella finally came to her senses so Sergio is now going to move in for the kill.
Marina's memory returning is going agonizingly slow...
Ahhh, "She asks what would Marina be capable of doing if she told her that her son Nico didn't die in that hurricane and, like her, miraculously survived?" The bait has been proferred but Marina isn't biting. I'm speculating Adriana will tell her where her son is but Marina would have to promise to stay away from Nicolas. I’m glad Estrella has come to her senses about Sergio. I’m not sure why she ever thought that relationship would work out. And how does Sergio end up blaming his father for what he’s doing to the town! Everyone is too quick to believe whatever people tell them.
I’m sure Rosalina will somehow use whatever she finds out about Porfirio and Sergio to get money from Porfirio. She and Erica are great at using people.
I’m not sure why Brisa wanted to keep her relationship with Pascual a secret. But wanting a kiss at the union office is not the way to do it. Yes, Gonzalo definitely suspects something!
Gabriel is doing a good job of letting Marina find her happiness. Selling the ring was so final. If Adriana really knows where Marina’s son is, is she talking about Iker. I’m assuming he is the son as Adriana had Juanjo pay off the dna guy. But I guess we can’t be sure!

Hard to believe that Reha had Karsu taken away by the police in front of his kids and their classmates. I think his revenge on Karsu(for leaving him maybe)is stronger than his love for his children. I’ll be surprised if Tilsin remains popular with those girls. I really wonder if she’ll even want to go to school. Reha is doing so much damage to his kids!
Reha saying Hande is such a good mother, how can he think children should ask for permission to go to the bathroom in their own home! But how much fun to hear Karsu tell Hande the ring had been hers and she left it behind. I wonder if Hande will demand a new ring.
Now Reha wants Lale to love someone she finds gross to help his business. I’m hoping that guy has ties with some bad people so Reha can get in trouble.

Kat – wow, it hadn’t occurred to me that pool guy could be a plant to keep an eye on our ladies. I also like the idea that cotton king could clap eyes on Karsu and woo her instead.

It looks like they’re writing Ipek out of the story. Off to Spain for the summer!
Now Hasan has told Dilaver to make sure that Irmak and Mert are guarded because Suleiman may figure out that Hasan’s the one who ratted him out. At the end, we see that the police are looking at a photo of Filiz. I’ve been wondering about the plan for Karsu to marry in order to have the appearance of a stable home, but here her mother is dating a well-known mafioso. Now pool guy has recommended a possible husband, a Dutch friend of his, but how can they pretend that the friend and Karsu had a romance before marrying when absolutely everybody has seen that there’s no man around? There is detailed intimate questioning here when a foreign national marries a citizen, to make sure it’s not a green card marriage, and I bet the legal system there would have a lot of personal questions what with custody in play and Reha making all these accusations.
Back to pool guy. We find out he has a law degree. Also, Irmak looks unhappy when he jokingly says he can do the husband thing for Karsu. Here comes a romance, seems like. But he’s a bad bet – he lies to women in order to use them, and instead of using with his law degree to do some actual good, he’s using his looks to get through life. And what a life – clubbing at night, hanging around the pool during the day.

The Wedding
Now that Perla has arrived, the wedding proceeds like it should. ** After watching a few summaries online that showed more of where everyone was seated this was the lay of the land** Valentín is sitting next to Gabriel. Estrella is across the aisle with her family. Erika is a few rows behind her with Yazmín. During the ceremony, Estrella and Fabián glance back and forth at each other and Erika is so positioned that she can watch them like a hawk.
Finally, Valentín asks the priest if he can kiss the bride and he is told to go ahead. When the couple leaves the church with the guests. Valentín is with Estrella and Erika.
The Reception
There is the usual celebrating and dancing at the reception.
Gabriel finds out from Marina that Adriana has sought her out two times. The first time she threatened her so she would leave Nicolás. Right before the wedding she told her that perhaps her son was alive after all. Now she is wondering if he could be alive. Marina is afraid that Adriana could be setting a trap for her because after the first time she talked to her a man shot at her. Gabriel assures her that he will not allow Adriana to hurt her. (As he sails up and down the coast??? )She thought when she went back with Nicolás, she would get back a part of her past but now things she feels more lost than ever.
Estrella accidentally spills a drink on Fabián as he comes over to talk to her. She helps clean up the mess. She notes that everyone seems to be in a good mood. He sort of starts to laugh saying that he finds it interesting how she can compartmentalize things in her life. One one hand, she understands how very bad things are for the people in town but on the other hand, she has no problem being in a relationship with the man who is responsible for what is happening in town. Estrella angrily tells him she doesn't have to give him any explanations about anything. Currently she isn't dating anybody.He informs her that Sergio himself told him that she and he would be getting married soon and starting a family. He got it from the primary source. She disagrees saying SHE is the primary source. SHE isn't planning on getting married. By the way, it was Sergio who kissed her. (Uh, she couldn't have pushed him away??? just saying )
Sergio is the father of her daughter. That is the only connection they have. Fabián looks flabbergasted.
Pascual and then Brisa give the newlyweds their best but "separate" good wishes.
It is time for the bouquet throw. All of the unmarried women gather. Meche tells Estrella she has to catch the bouquet. Erika slides up next to Estrella and asks her who would ever believe that both of them, sisters nonetheless, are hoping to catch the same bouquet .Estrella makes it clear that she is not hoping for anything. Erika tells her to get out of the way then because she plans on catching it and also somebody. Estrella tells her no worries. She has no desire to fight with her or anyone else. She is there to celebrate her sister. Erika asks if she is also there to celebrate old times. She saw her being a hypocrite talking to Fabián. Estrella says Erika saw wrong and refuses to take responsibility for her insecurities.

Estrella lifts up her cellphone to record the bouquet throwing process. Perla throws the bouquet and it lands in Estella's outstretched arms holding her phone. Estrella is shocked. Everyone cheers and applauds. Estrella smiles for the guests. Erika approaches Estrella who has lost her smile. Estrella shoves the bouquet at Erika and tells her it is all hers. Estrella walks away.
Fabián later fills Gabriel in about how Sergio lied to him. Fabián thinks that changes everything when it comes to him pursuing Estrella. Gabriel reminds him that there is ONE detail he is overlooking. Estrella knows that he has something going on with Erika and she will not over look that. Fabián agrees that he is right as Erika, holding the bouquet, blows him kisses across the room.
PTSD Kills the Wedding Night
Perla and Valentín arrive at their hotel room where there is a heart made out of red rose petals on the bed. . Unfortunately, Perla remembers being sexually assaulted by El Tiburón and her interest in a romantic night with her new husband falls by the wayside. She tells Valentín she is all tired out and that they should postpone their wedding night. He is also worn out and agrees saying tomorrow they can have their night of romance. Valentín has a surprise for her: the sapphire ring. He admits he is still paying Nemesio for it but from the moment he saw it on her hand, he knew it had to be hers. It represents their comittment to each other for the rest of their lives. They agree to a fresh start.
A Change of Heart
Azul jumps up to the sound of a rooster crowing. She happy to be back at her grandma's. She notes how the air is different. It smells like the sea. There is no noise from cars or people. Her mother says the people there are a bit warmer, too. Azul agrees saying they are like one gigantic family. They are also not in a rush all the time.She wonders if they can stay there longer. Estrella says she will have to talk to her boss. Estrella agrees that Azul is not the only one who missed this place. Azul knows that she grew up in the city but she feels like she is home in this town. Estrella agrees it is and always will be her home.
Estrella goes to see Sergio. He thought she was going to be back on the road to Mexico City. She decided to stay a few more days because she hates to see how the people are suffering in town and wants to help out. She heard he is helping people out of his own pocket. He surmises she heard that from Gabriel.She makes a point of asking him, as the head of the union, what can she do to fight against Alfa Sur. They agree they have to find a way to get commercial fishing removed from the coast. Fabián tells her she doesn't know how much he has missed them fighting together for the good of their town. The moment is cut short when Erika walks in with a pot of seafood broth. She tells Estrella there is enough for everyone and invites her to stay. Estrella decides it is time for her to go and tells Fabián they will talk later.

Brisa and her Finger to the Wind
At the reception, Pascual tells Brisa he would love to kiss her. Since their relationship is a secret, she tells him he will have to wait until after the reception.
Brisa chats with Gabriel. He is pleased that she looks happy. Something has changed about her. He wonders if a man is involved. She says no, she is always like this but he has always been involved with Marina in some drama. . . She actually notices he is feeling uncomfortable and apologizes. Yes, he is still upset that Marina has left town. Brisa's ears perk up when she hears that Marina went back to Nicolás. She reminds him she told him so about Marina. He has to agree. He is planning a sailing trip with Iker. They need an adventure.
They are going to sail up and down the coast. To be honest, he has no idea of when they will be back. She looks upset.
Brisa goes to get advice for "a friend" from Erika. Her friend was in love with a good-looking guy with a fantastic body. He was the love of her life. He ended up with somebody else and broke her heart. Then her friend found another guy who is nothing like the first but he is a lovely person who treats her well, indulges her, strokes her hair, makes her breakfast. . . The deal is that the first guy is now available. Erika knows she is talking about herself. She knows the first guy is Gabriel. Who is the second guy? Brisa admits it is Pascual and Erika breaks out in laughter. Brisa says now since Marina has left town she is in a bind. She loves both of them. Erika asks her if she had to stay with one or the other for the rest of her life, which one would she choose? Brisa cannot make up her mind.
Pascual talks to Valentín about his secret romance with Brisa. Valentín is happy at first for him but then is worried because Brisa wants to keep it a secret. Sergio Looks for a Short Cut to Total Control
Sergio looks over the details of the fish processing plant project and Juanjo can tell he is not convinced. Juanjo says it is ready to go anytime Sergio gives him the word. All they need to do is demolish some structures to start building. Sergio has a lot of doubt right now. He isn't sure this project is the most convenient thing for him. Juanjo asks if it has to do with Estrella and Azul or if the great Sergio Falcón is having an attack of conscience for destroying that old town. Sergio makes it clear he doesn't care about that damn town or that damn brat at all. He needs to distance himself and take a panoramic view of the entirety of his situation. The processing plant means nothing to him. What he wants is total control of Alfa Pacifico. He needs to find some strategy to get Estrella to start a family with him; that family that his old man keeps demanding and demanding from him.
Brisa and her Finger to the Wind
At the reception, Pascual tells Brisa he would love to kiss her. Since their relationship is a secret, she tells him he will have to wait until after the reception.
Brisa chats with Gabriel. He is pleased that she looks happy. Something has changed about her. He wonders if a man is involved. She says no, she is always like this but he has always been involved with Marina in some drama. . . She actually notices he is feeling uncomfortable and apologizes. Yes, he is still upset that Marina has left town. Brisa's ears perk up when she hears that Marina went back to Nicolás. She reminds him she told him so about Marina. He has to agree. He is planning a sailing trip with Iker. They need an adventure.
They are going to sail up and down the coast. To be honest, he has no idea of when they will be back. She looks upset.
Brisa goes to get advice for "a friend" from Erika. Her friend was in love with a good-looking guy with a fantastic body. He was the love of her life. He ended up with somebody else and broke her heart. Then her friend found another guy who is nothing like the first but he is a lovely person who treats her well, indulges her, strokes her hair, makes her breakfast. . . The deal is that the first guy is now available. Erika knows she is talking about herself. She knows the first guy is Gabriel. Who is the second guy? Brisa admits it is Pascual and Erika breaks out in laughter. Brisa says now since Marina has left town she is in a bind. She loves both of them. Erika asks her if she had to stay with one or the other for the rest of her life, which one would she choose? Brisa cannot make up her mind.
Pascual talks to Valentín about his secret romance with Brisa. Valentín is happy at first for him but then is worried because Brisa wants to keep it a secret. A.MAR Parte 4
Erika calls Sergio to deliver the news that Estrella is staying longer in town. He had no idea. She tells him to get with the program. Estrella is staying to help the fishermen in town who are suffering from the effects of his fishing company. What's more is that she is going to work shoulder to shoulder with HER Fabián. What is more important to him: his stupid business or Estrella? She tells him he needs to act quickly because she has no intention of losing the love of her life again!!!
Sergio goes to talk to Estrella and says he knows how important the welfare of the town is to her. Lorenzo, his father, calls but he doesn't answer. He tells Estrella that he loves her. He is ready to confront his father and to demand that he close the fishing company so that she, Azul and he can finally be a happy family. Azul, at the door, breaks out in a big smile. She goes off to play with Iker. Estrella is more than shocked and tells Sergio he cannot come into the house saying things like that because Azul is going to think they are going to end up together. Sergio says he only wants her, the only woman he has ever loved, to give him another chance to win her heart. He tells her to think of Azul's happiness and what they could do together to put the brakes on his father. She needs time to think.
Fabián asks Estrella to meet with him because he has found some irregularities at Alfa Sur that they may be able to prosecute them for. In the mean time they may be able to shut the companh down. It probably won't be easy with Sergio's contacts but this is the only way he can see to proceed. She tells him there is another way. Sergio asked her to go back to him so both of them could confront his father and get the fishing company closed down. Fabián hopes that there is no way she would consider that. He says she cannot force herself to be with somebody she doesn't love no matter how serious the situation is.Does she really love Sergio that much to turn over her heart and soul to him? She prefers not to discuss that with him. He declares that in spite of everything that has happened, he is still in love with her. He goes to kiss her. She tells him no and asks him (the question we all have been wanting to ask him): If he loves her so much, why did he go back to Erika????
Can Adriana Control Nicolás Like She Does Juanjo?
Nicolás pays Adriana a visit at work demanding that she leave him and Marina in peace already. He is wondering why somebody shot at Marina the very day that Adriana tried to convince him to leave Marina. Adriana disavows any connection to the attempt on Marina's life. She insists that she is the woman that Nicolás needs.He tells her that he made a mistake with her and he will not repeat it when fate is offering him a relationship with the only woman he has ever truly loved. They had a deal! She promises him that he will come crawling back to her some day apologizing for all the wrong he has done to her.
He thinks not and adds that he is not afraid of her. There is nothing she can do to separate him from Marina.
Nicolás has an elegant beach picnic planned for him and Marina. As he serves her champagne, he explains that today is their anniversary. This would have been their 15th anniversary. She wishes him a happy anniversary and they toast. He says it might be life, fate, or God, but something out there gifted him this chance to return to her side. Ever since he found her, he has faith that together they will find their son. He loves her and he kisses her.

I thought Perla and Valentin's wedding was very well done. Their shining love, joyousness and slightly awkward first dance was so typically true and realistic. Everyone seemed to be having a splendid time, dancing and celebrating. What a fun time! I had to laugh at Gabriel and Fabian looking like outcasts on the second floor as everyone was celebrating. But I was again impressed how nicely Gabriel treated Marina and his pledged defense of her.
How tragic that remembrance of El Tiburón colored and ruined their wedding night but Perla never worked through her unresolved trauma. The fact she never discussed her abuse with Valentin, was sadly not a surprise.
"Pascual and then Brisa give the newlyweds their best but "separate" good wishes" had me smiling away. I was a bit relieved (and impressed) Brisa didn't make an on the spot play for Gabriel when they spoke but clearly she still hasn't gotten the idea of him out of her heart. I can't comprehend why she would ever seek Erika's counsel. Even Yazmin still gravitates toward Erika who is neither kind nor helpful but always self serving.
"If he loves her so much, why did he go back to Erika????" perfectly reflects our frustration and disbelief at Fabian's cavalier attitude. He is just not worthy at this point.
"What is more important to him: his stupid business or Estrella?" As Erika doesn't realize Estrella is of no importance to Sergio, she isn't as clever as I've given her credit for.
It was hard to read Nicolas' "...it might be life, fate, or God, but something out there gifted him this chance to return to her side. Ever since he found her, he has faith that together they will find their son. He loves her and he kisses her". Such treacherous deceit. It was a bit gratifying that Marina is not quite as happy as I thought (thank heavens). "She thought when she went back with Nicolás, she would get back a part of her past but now things she feels more lost than ever". Hopefully, her memory will come flooding back sooner rather than later.
