Caray, Caray!

PAPAS #18 Part 1

Being the sly snake that she is, Melina used her finetuned eavesdropping skills to listen in on Gisela and Circe’s conversation. She showed up at the restaurant where Circe was meeting Valerio and filmed his proposal, sending it to a shocked Tino and Aide.

We open with a flashback of several years ago with Circe and Aide looking at a bridal dress shop window talking happily, Aide’s arm around her daughter.

In the present, Valerio (still wearing that stoopid mustache) slips a ring on Circe’s finger as the restaurant patrons clap. As the happy couple get out of the car at Circe’s, we see Circe ignoring Aide’s call. Aide rushes out of the meeting, Tino in hot pursuit. After Valerio takes off, Circe runs into Checo on the street. He has a single rose for her and immediately sees the ring.

Clara Luz and Rudolf are concerned about where the children are. Unfortunately, Prisma has them at the bus stop. Pipe gets agitated and worried about his parents. She tells both that everything is fine. Prisma ignores a text from Clara.

Checo is upset as Circe somehow tries to justify herself. Bewildered and upset, he leaves. Just then Tino and Aide appear at the door. I believe Circe says she is an adult capable of making her own decisions. Aide says she respects her decision; Tino does not agree with how she is handling it. Melina comes in when Tino and Aide argue. Always the impeccable timing.

Serena and Chano are kissing. Again.

Bill asks Emi about his illness. I think he says it was from his biological father. He tells Bill his mother Paulina returned after many years away. He shows Bill a picture of the family and says something about Lila. Later, Bill thanks Aide and Tino for their hospitality. Emi leaves and while Tino gives him a concerned look, he doesn’t follow up with any conversation to see what is wrong with Emi.

Rudolf and Clara’s worry escalates. Nazario stands with his arms folded, of no help.

Checo talks to Chofis as Serena shows up; Chofis not pleased. Looks like Serena is fixing dinner. The three sit down and she seems to have a nice conversation with Checo, I think about his mother. Chofis remains unmoved and picks up her bag and leaves. In a later scene, it appears Chofis and Serena are smiling and at least talking.

Paulina and Bill meet. We see a flashback where she asks a doctor about Emi’s condition.

Clara and Rudolf are out on the street as Nazario leaves a voicemail for Prisma; a nasty one at that. I believe he tells her to bring the children back. Pronto. All of a sudden, he gets in a cab, Clara calling out for him. She and Rudolf are left standing in the street angry and confused.

Prisma obviously abandoned her plan to spirit the children away. We see the kids are now in a park as Nazario lounges against a tree combing his mustache. They run off to play as he faces Prisma, calling her stupid. Again.

PAPAS #18 Part 2

Valerio and Circe are sitting in front of Tino and an unsmiling Aide. Gisela appears with champagne and everyone toasts; Valerio chugging rather than sipping. Oh no, he drops to one knee, proposing to his “pancake” again. Tino asks about his parents. Valerio says they are in San Francisco; he seems to say it’s complicated. He says his father is an impresario. Gisela is thrilled as Circe and Tino exchange looks. Valerio kisses Gisela’s hand. (Is Jose Ron having a hard time keeping a straight face? His lips are twitching a bit). Tino later turns away more champagne. He calls Circe over and asks her if she is sure (I think). Outside, Valerio gets upset with Circe. When they text/talk, the arguing escalates until he says he’s leaving. She panics… I think Valerio is proposing a quick wedding…

I have no idea what Nazario and Prisma told Clara and Rudolf as to what happened with the children. Nazario starts screaming at Prisma and she is crying. They leave Clara and Rudolf to themselves; alarm bells are ringing loudly and clearly for Clara.

Gisela and Melina exchange words. Aide interrupts, upset with Gisela.

Paulina looks at a photo of her and Lila and starts typing on her phone.

Hernan and Melina meet with Chacal. She is running the show, seemingly telling him what to do (whatever that is). He puts his hand on her as she shakes it away. Hernan grins foolishly.

Circe and Gisela talk. I think she is urging Circe to do what Valerio wants, a quick wedding. I think Circe caves.

Hernan and Melina pull up to the house and with an evil stare, Melina puts her bag in the back seat as Gisela and Hernan talk with Tino. Circe and Gisela drive off. We next see Circe and Gisela meeting up with a thrilled Valerio. Is the wedding going to be now?? Melina alerts Aide and Tino…

In the last scene, Paulina appears. Emilio sees her and is startled. “Mama, why are you here” he queries without any trace of a smile or joy to see her.

So much talking, whining and wailing. Far too difficult to interpret most of this. Hopefully, I got some of this right.

MONTEVERDE #10 Part 1

We wait with bated breath, white knuckled, as the video conference begins.

In Monteverde, a nervous Carolina sits beside Father Gabriel, her heart in her throat. On the other end of the call, Sister Celeste is next to Mother Superior Gustava….

Will some miraculous intervention save the unwilling, panicking participants from the precipice of potential disaster??

The parties have joined the call…

Carolina, pretending to have dropped something, is on the floor and mercifully, out of camera shot. Some pleasantries between the good padre and Mother Superior ensue and then alas, the connection is broken!! Sister Celeste prays her gratitude.

It seems the internet connection cannot be restored. Ahh, such a shame.

Moises is surprised outside by his father. Oscar and Carolina talk although the conversation eludes me. Oscar makes Moises give Carolina back some money. “Children” Oscar says to himself in exasperation.

Franco arrives to tell Rosalia he was unable to find Lucia.

Juan David and Angelina’s adventure continues. They pull up to a building that is anything but “Hotel Esperanza”. Angelina is sweet and understanding and suggests they find another hotel.

Rosalia visits the good father, asking if there is any mail for her. Yes, the envelope indicates it is a laboratory result she’d been waiting for.

A musical interlude during which Franco, whose history with Lucia was all too brief, visits one of the only places they were together - the site where Lucia burned her wedding dress. How romantic I sniff!

Juan David and Angelina talk to a receptionist at a hotel and are shocked to hear the rates. They pool their meager funds which still aren’t enough. They try another hotel…

Carolina tells Juanita what happened as Rosalia writes a script for a patient. She pulls out the laboratory envelope…

MONTEVERDE #10 Part 2

Finally, at their third try, coins are counted out and Juan David and Angelina manage to procure a room. Hotel Paradise it ain’t…Angelia lies down on the double bed followed by Juan David. Angelina leaves to use the doorless curtained bathroom as Juan David puts on mood music. She primps a bit and opens the curtain resplendent in her fleece bathroom but alas, Juan David has fallen fast asleep. She kisses him and smiling, settles in next to him.

Rosalia hands Lucas the envelope. He reads it and stares. The results are negative (sorry but I didn’t catch which candidate it was other than it wasn’t the padre). She and Lucas kiss.

Nestor arrives to tease Oscar who is forced to agree Sister Celeste is bonita.

Gloria and the four women whose names I don’t know are in the kitchen gossiping. All of a sudden Doris comes down in a pretty rose sweater set. She smiles with delight, announcing she is going to Manuel’s house. The other women cheer as Gloria sulks.

In the dark, Franco swigs from a bottle, reading and crumpling up Lucia’s letter. Nestor comes by and takes the bottle from him and makes him leave with him.

The hotel proprietor knocks on the door; so do they rent by the hour rather than the night? 😊 The two are soon on foot…They stop to eat their sandwiches in a park. Unfortunately a robber comes up demanding money which of course they don’t have. He puts a knife to Juan David’s throat, glaring at Angelina.

There is a door at Manuel’s door. Shocker – it’s Gloria (sans her fur). She takes off her wrap to reveal a flattering lilac dress. She sits down making herself at home as Doris and Manuel exchange looks.

Oscar asks his son what happened and Franco spills all of his tea. Oscar wants to make coffee and tells Franco things will look better in the morning. He puts him to bed and puts his hand affectionately on his son as he takes his leave.

Gloria, assuming the house mother role tells Doris it’s time to go!! Doris bids a smiling Manuel good night as the two smile at each other.

As bad luck would have it, Juan David manages to turn the tables on their attacker, forcing the knife from him but at that precise moment, the police show up. Juan David has the knife pointed at the thief but then the tables turn and the culprit tells the police Juan David attacked HIM and that Angelina is his accomplice! Juan David is arrested.

The Mother tells Sister Celeste they leave for Monteverde the next day.

Gloria returns to her room and is upset Angelina is not there.

MONTEVERDE #10 Part 3

Doris regales her roommate with tales of the evening’s events. Gloria comes in asking about Angelina. They get rid of her quickly and laugh.

Clever Sister Celeste feigns illness in order to get out of the trip, the thermometer indicating she has a fever. The Mother Superior will go alone. Celeste picks up the phone…

Franco joins Oscar and Moises for breakfast. “Sit hijo” Oscar urges.

Juan David you are free the jailer announces. I can only think Angelina went to the good padre (?) They take their things and leave.

A class break is called as Carolina manages a call to her sister, filling her in.

Moises takes a bite of something delicious and Andres has a slip of the tongue saying his mother made it.

Oscar comes in asking where the children are. Andres storms in like a little cyclone, hackles up. Oscar asks Moises what happened.

The Mother Superior hails a cab; it’s off to Monteverde!

I hope I captured at least some of this correctly. I am sorry about the rather choppy sentences at the end; some conversation was simply too fast or too above my understanding.

No show tomorrow.

MONTEVERDE #10 Extras

Celeste disappears looking for a pencil she "dropped." Carolina hits the floor supposedly looking for a flea she felt bite her so it won' bite the good father. (That was funny!)

The internet connection lasts long enough for Mother Superior to tell the good father that she is planning on coming to see how things are going.

Mother Superior asks if there is something that Celeste does not want her to see in Monteverde because she is going to go no matter what. Celeste insists everything is going wonderfully and she was only trying to help her avoid a long trip.

Oscar keeps the secret by saying that the antenna isn't working and it will take some time to fix.The good priest informs Oscar and Carolina that Mother Superior is coming but he knows not when or with who.

Carolina lies to Oscar at first telling him she never asked Moisés to disconnect the antenna but to merely inspect it. She finally admits the truth and that she didn't want Mother Superior and the good father to talk because Mother Superior doesn't want her to stay in Monteverde. She wants to stay. Oscar, clearly taken with her, says that makes two of them because . . . Moisés is really happy with her. She says that is one of the reasons she wants to stay. Oscar asks what other reasons might she have. She goes on about getting the women settled . . . as Oscar waits for her to say more Moisés comes in. Oscar makes him give back the money that Carolina paid him to disconnect the antenna. Moisés asks why??? Oscar reminds him that he has told him time after time that you cannot charge anytime a person asks you for a favor. (That was cute!) Carolina thanks Oscar for not telling the good father the truth.
Moisés asks Oscar if he "likes" the nun. The answer is that nuns are nuns and you can't "like" them. Moisés still thinks he does. Oscar says he cannot go around saying things like that.

The Hotel Esperanza has been closed for 10 years.

Rosalía refuses to tell the nosy good father who the tests were for.

The lack of hotel rooms in town is because of a basketball tournament.

Lucas tells Rosalía that Oscar is not her father. There are two other possibilities: Néstor and the good father. Lucas doesn't think priests can be fathers. (Really? What planet does he live on??) She tells him that he was once a bullfighter in training and had a great love of his own.

Yep, they rented the room for five hours and their five hours were up! : )

Gloria comes by Manuel's house looking for insecticide since her room is full of mosquitoes. (Talk about lame excuses) He has none so she invites herself to play to play Chinese checkers with him and Doris.

The police call Angelina and Juan David "tortolitos" love birds.

Angelina told the police that Juan David was father Gabriel's nephew.

Celeste put onion in her armpits to make her temperature go up on the thermometer (never heard of that one) like she and Carolina used to do when they were kids and it worked. Celeste tells Carolina that Mother Superior is on her way and she has to hide.

After his "mother" slip, Andrés says that Carolina always makes him use a plate when eating buñuelos. Moisés thinks that the nun must scold him like a mother. He wishes he had a mother like her. Andrés thinks Carolina is cool. Moisés surprises Andrés by adding that is why his godfather fell in love with her. He explains that he saw the nun talking with his father who had that look you have on your face when you are in love. Andrés thinks that is very bad!! It is prohibited for anyone to fall in love with a nun. Doesn't his godfather know that? Moisés asks why Andrés is so angry. It isn't as if the nun were his mother.

Oscar offers to talk to Mother Superior on Carolina's behalf because she is so necessary for his son's education. Andrés runs in angrily saying he wants to go.
He runs out. Moisés says he didn't do anything. Carolina goes after Andrés.

Diana, I dare say that parts of this novela are turning out to be “charming.” Those kids are such good actors, too, besides being cute.

Thanks Diana, great recap. Melina really gets away with things. Aide and Tino assure her the video of the proposal wasn’t her fault. She then says she will not be bringing in the owner as a investor in their business. She threw her purse in the backseat and then told Tino and Aide that she had a tracker on her purse. So they will be able to find out where Circe is!

I’m not sure why Valerio is in such a hurry to marry. Aside from online, they’ve known each other days or weeks. When he downed his drink I wondered if he has a drinking problem. His dad has a business that he will inherit but it didn’t sound like he works there now.

I thought Prisma took the kids to the park to kill time before the bus comes. Pipe wanted to call his parents to tell them where he was but Prisma said that she had told them. Meanwhile Nazario can track Prisma through her phone and was mad at her. But I think he probably plans something similar in the near future because he wants Pipe’s inheritance. Rudolf and Clara Luz need to throw them out of their house!

I think Bill is trying to find out about Paulina’s relationship with her kids. Emi told him when she came back 5 years ago she didn’t want him, just Lila. But that Lila didn’t go with her either. I’m not sure if he told Bill why Lila didn’t go. I’m not sure if he knows!

Gisela is really pushing Circe into this marriage, I’m not sure why. I wonder if she wants to hurt Aide.

The dinner Serena and Cheno are going to have is to formally announce they are novios. Chofis was upset. But later she told Serena that she was good for the younger brother and that he liked her.

I’m enjoying this show and the recaps from Diana and Jarifa. I just can’t watch it when it’s on. I caught up this weekend so now I’m only a day behind. It looks like I can catch up with that tonight but will be a day behind on Hilo’s! I’m anxious to see how they handled the video call.

Steve, if you didn’t see this last night you missed a lot of crazy. Leo told Tamara that Christina was pregnant with Carlos’ baby. Tamara didn’t believe him, thinks it’s probably Gabriel’s. So Leo tells her she’s more pregnant than she(Tamara)was. Then the fool gives Tamara Christina’s address. After a short discussion, with Christina the only voice of reason, Tamara pushes Christina down the stairs. She’s quit gleeful as she looks at the unconscious Christina, thinking she got rid of the problem keeping Carlos from loving her. Later Christina is in the hospital in grave condition and the premature baby is fighting for her live. Father Salvador goes to tell Carolina, who agrees Carlos needs to know. So he’s at the hospital by Christina’s side. I’m hoping she remembers she was pushed as everyone is assuming she fell. Tamara’s mother knows the truth and I’m sure Leo will figure it out.

In lesser news, Manuel and Carolina sign their divorce papers and their nasty daughter blames Carolina. Benjamin and Catalina get married and Ricardo realizes he wants someone who looks at him the way his mom is looking at Benjamin, and Lorena doesn’t look at him like that.

Isn't Melina helpful? Eyeroll. I get the feeling she wants to split Tino and Aide up so she can have Tino for herself.

Your insight that Valerio might have a drinking problem may be spot on! I think something is "off" about him (in addition to the obvious, "pancake" etc.)! Yes, why the hurry to rush Circe into marriage??

"I thought Prisma took the kids to the park to kill time before the bus comes". Ahhh. That never occurred to me Liz. Prisma is not a good person but Nazario is dangerous and unscrupulous; and he is to be very much feared.

To be honest, my recollection is that Lila didn't go with Paulina but for the life of me, can't remember why. I think something terrible occurred that hasn't been revealed yet.

My thought is that Gisela is just trying to help Circe...she made a huge mistake with Aide and perhaps is trying to make a bit of amends so she doesn't hurt Circe the way she did her daughter. Speculation only.

I love Chuchito but I have a sneaking suspicion he will not be happy when he finds out Serena and his father will be novios. Checo will likely be the only somewhat agreeable child.

Yeah, I think Valerio is very strange and a bit of a con artist. I am wondering if he is really rich. Or not. :)

What Erika did to Aide was horrifying wasn't it? I'm trying to give her the benefit of the doubt in that perhaps she is trying to atone for it by encouraging Circe. Maybe I'm giving her too much credit.

Angelique's new novela is Doménica Montero. It will air at 9 ET after Hilos ends (not sure of the exact date).

PAPAS #19 Part 1

Paulina lurks from behind the gate then reveals herself. Emilio sees her and is startled. “Mama, why are you here” he queries without any trace of a smile or joy to see her. He then starts in on her, Lila is mentioned. Paulina turns on the waterworks trying to worm her way back into his heart but he does not relent. He hurls accusations at her, one of them being that Tino isn’t his bio father and tells her to leave. He shuts the gate in her face.

Aide and Valerio are at the civil registry – Gisela front and center. “No Circe, it’s not true” Aide says as she and Tino rush in. Circe tries to defend her actions with Gisela backing her up as Valerio shakes his head agreeing like an idiot. It seems they are too late; Valerio and Circe are already married.

There are several scenes with Clara Luz, Rudolf and Nazario. I understood little except Clara Luz saying they are going to a lawyer.

Aide reads Gisela the riot act but Gisela steadfastly defends herself,

Tino tells Valerio about the responsibility and expectation of respect involved in marriage as Circe stares. Circe then goes to the house for an apology tour, Melina smirking in the back of the room. Gisela brings in Valerio but everyone just stares and says nothing. Crickets.

Paulina and Bill meet; she tells him something isn’t her problem.

Serena and Chano’s surprise (to the children) novio dinner is well under way. Poncho, Checo, Chofis and Chuchito are there. The beginning progresses promisingly until Chano announces he and Serena are novios. Chuchito gets apoplectic yelling “no” his face contorted in anger.

Circe goes over to Tino, then to Aide, both wish her well. Circe turns and everyone stares at her, “bye” she says as there is no verbal or physical response from anyone. Cold. Aide is heartbroken as Tino tries and consoles her. Emi comes in and to add insult to injury tells them he hates to bother them but his mother Paullina has returned. They are impactada!

Chano yells at his son while everyone sits in very uncomfortable silence.

PAPAS #19 Part 2

It’s time for the honeymoon. We see Valerio and Circe in a hotel room, candles ablaze in the fireplace. (The tub right next to the bed was a surprise but hey…) We see the bedside clock and it appears the consummation of their marriage has taken mere minutes. Valerio is enchanted; Circe is obviously disappointed and disillusioned.

The next morning Circe sits outside as Valerio rushes in all happy and somehow manages to make her smile. Later, Circe’s friend asks her about her wedding night. Circe says how romantic it was.

Hernan interrupts Aurelio and Gisela from another snippy argument.

Clara Luz and Rudolf meet with a lawyer. Conversation included Silvana and the fact they are Pipe’s biological parents. Nazario and Prisma sit in front of a computer; whatever they later present to Aide, she likes it.

Aide confronts Gisela and tells her to get out! A delighted Melina eavesdrops.

“I am Lila’s father” a desperate to find his daughter Tino says to a bus boy at a restaurant.

Chacal wants to meet Melina. In person.

At Checo’s gym, a man hurts his shoulder and yells in agony.

Serena meets up with Chuchito on the street him giving her the “I’m watching you” sign.

Aide and Alex have lunch with Clara Luz as they discuss her relationship with Gisela who tried earlier to sway Scarlet…

Melina opens the gates to Chacal; I understood none of their conversation but saw he had a gun tucked in his waistband. He goes to leave as Tino comes home through the gate; Tino asks him what he’s doing there.

Chuchito is at Serena’s giving her dirty looks (I had to laugh). Uh oh, her son left the front door open and Chuchito gives an evil grin.

Chacal and Tino start arguing. Aide comes up and calls him “inspector” much to Tino’s surprise and asks him what he wants. Chacal tries to rush Tino but he holds him back!

This is getting harder to summarize with every episode. Please add anything important that I missed.

MONTEVERDE #11 Part 1

Mother Superior gets settled in a taxi bound for Monteverde.

Andres glares at his mother; what is it she asks gently, answer me. The answer is direct and to the point. I want to leave the pueblo because Moises told me his father is in love with you! Carolina is impactada.

Juan David and Angelina arrive home and are immediately confronted by an angry, scolding Gloria. She berates Juan David as he tries to explain himself. “Basta” she spits out angry at his “ruining” her daughter’s reputation.

Carolina tries to defend herself against Andres’ charges. “Mi amor” she says softly grabbing his hands. She begs for a kiss on the cheek and he complies. She tells him Mother Superior is coming (Wizard of Oz music as Miss Gulch rides her bike to spirit Todo away plays 😊) …

Angelina tries to defend herself but Gloria isn’t having any of it. Angelina looks sadly at Juan David. She later returns his ring. With that, he drops to his knees and proposes again. They kiss in joy and happiness. “Until tomorrow” she says as they fall into each other’s embrace. When Angelina returns to her room, Gloria sits on the bed waiting. She preempts her mother’s lecture and ire by saying she is going to get married. Now Gloria is happy. For the moment.

Carolina tells Juanita the Mother is on her way. I believe she wants to plant the seed among the townspeople that due to her age, the Mother is getting increasingly forgetful.

Franco is torturing himself with pictures of Lucia as Lucas arrives, talking about Italy and beautiful women.

How are the classes going the good padre asks Carolina. Well she answers. Then there is a knock on the door. The mother has arrived! Back at the convent, Sister Celeste drinks some ghastly vile liquid to help with her “illness”

The Mother tells the padre she is alone as Sister Celeste fell ill. The father is flummoxed as Carolina peers around the corner signing to him to please be quiet. He excuses himself and confronts Carolina asking for an explanation. Carolina starts hyperventilating, so he tells her to calm down. She wants to confess.

Juanita is telling the women about the good but forgetful Madre.

Carolina is in the confessional as she tells Father Gabriel I am not Sister Celeste. I am Carolina, Celeste’s sister! The confused padre stares, then repeats what she says. She tells him her true identity and that she is Andres’ mother. Tears fall as she tells him about the ruse; she is trying to protect her innocent son. What is your relationship to Juanita he asks. She answers and pleads with him. He takes off his stole and I believe he agrees to keep her secret but not without misgivings. She doesn’t want to cause problems and apologizes.

Lucas comes in and seems annoyed that Dr. Rosalia had Joaquin in her office. He asks her how his shoulder is and after a quick examination she says it is better. Then they argue about Joaquin again, as he gets angry (?)

The good padre returns and takes the mother’s bag…

Carolina and the padre end up at Oscar’s. The padre calls Sister Celeste asking why she didn’t confide in him. Her first and main thought is her sister’s safety. Oscar seems confused about the Mother’s visit.

Celeste and the padre have a quick conversation I couldn’t understand as he takes off in his car.

MONTEVERDE #11 Part 2

Sister Celeste calls a lawyer and explains Carolina’s dilemma. They set up an appointment for tomorrow.

Carolina and Oscar share a sweet moment and smile.

Juanita offers the Mother refreshment as Paulina and Doris arrive. Manuel’s restaurant is mentioned. The padre arrives with a woman, Trinidad (not sure who she is or what her story is). When Gloria comes in talking about Sister Celeste, Mother says she isn’t here she is at the convent. The women, who have been warned about the Mother’s “forgetful” nature, look at each other knowingly. The good padre tries to smooth things over with Gloria saying she is confused! Gloria stares suspiciously.

Lucas and Franco fish and on the way home pick up a woman hitchhiker, who gets in the back seat. Julieta is her name. She is flirty with Franco.

Juanita fills Andres in as to the Mother’s visit. Andres repeats his wish to leave due to thinking Oscar loves his mother. Juanita is nicely dismissive of that theory and she reminds Andres of the gravity of the situation.

The poor padre is beside himself when some good news finally arrives in the form of Juan David and Angelina telling him about their wedding plans. Finally, something to smile about.

Carolina calls Sister Celeste and tells her the Mother is staying at Oscar’s. Celeste tells her about the lawyer she’s meeting with.

Oh no. Julieta is now back at Lucas’ and Franco’s. Are you brothers she asks? No. She pulls out a camera and takes pictures. All of a sudden, the door opens and Rosalia appears! Unhappy, she asks what is going on.

The Mother arrives at Manuel’s. I don’t think she can get a signal on her phone. Hugo offers his arm as they leave to return to Oscar’s.

Uncomfortable small talk at Lucas’ ensues. Julieta immediately picks up on Rosalia’s unfriendliness.

The Mother arrives at Oscar’s and runs into Moises. I can’t understand what Moises says but all of a sudden Carolina appears and the Mother naturally assumes it is Sister Celeste and asks her what she is doing there!

I know I didn’t get everything right. Was there any discussion as to how it was planned to keep the Mother from seeing Carolina? They were bound to run into each other, right? Your insights and details are greatly appreciated!
