Although I’m enjoying this, the truth is that I’m unable to follow some of the major plotlines (Melina/Hernan/Chacal, Prisma/Nazario and Bill/Paulina in particular). Also, many of the character’s “simple” discussions elude me. Truthfully, trying to figure out what might or might not have happened is just frankly exhausting.
At this point, it’s become too difficult to continue to do two nightly summaries. While I will still post comments on Papas, I will no longer be able to post summaries. I hope we will still be able to discuss Papas. Liz and Susan, I especially appreciate your support and encouragement; your kind words and insights have meant a great deal.
I am going to continue to post notes for Monteverde as I seem to have a better understanding of what is transpiring there. Jarifa’s “extras” have of course been amazing and instrumental in recording what actually occurred rather than relying on my perception or guess! 😊

I enjoyed the beautiful candlelit memorial for Tino’s mother Bertha; Gisela, standing on the fringes, clearly the outsider. Circe, the prodigal daughter returned home for the ceremony; everyone was happy to see her.
Too bad Chacal managed to escape. “The jackal” Chacal later threatened Hernan, roughing him up.
So disappointed not so adorable Chuchito pretended to disappear hiding under the bed laughing as a distraught Serena searched for him, Chano calling the police. It was fitting a scorpion scared the hell out of him, his screams giving him away. I was surprised he showed no remorse, crying Serena isn’t his mother. Serena seems done. Later, Chuchito sees his father talking to his mother’s picture in tears and starts crying too. (I keep thinking Lichita is alive. We shall see).
Chano and Chuchito pay Serena a visit; Chuchito is suitably repentant. The two hug and as Chano joins them, I smile along with them.
I don’t know why Nazario shows the children Silvana’s picture. But it seems Rudolf figures out that Prisma is the brain behind Nazario’s work. Liz, you were exactly right!
In the last scene, Chacal interrupts the memorial service pushing Hernan in front of him, gun pointed at his head. Dread spreads through the group except for Melina who seems annoyed, certainly not frightened.

Adorable Moises tells Mother Superior his father doesn’t like nuns. 😊Mother Superior is dialing the phone when who should appear out of the blue but Carolina!! Mother Superior is impactada (as are we!) The Mother naturally assumes it is Sister Celeste and asks her what she is doing there.
The mother immediately tells Carolina I thought you were sick.
Rosalie leaves Oscar and Lucas’ scowling, muttering to herself.
The mother wonders how Sister Celeste got there so fast. All of a sudden, Oscar shows up and introduces himself. He starts talking about Sister Celeste and of course the mother said the sister just arrived. Carolina makes the “cuckoo” sign behind the mothers back and I laughed out loud at Oscar’s confused expression. The women leave with Oscar staring after them.
The padre has a talk with Juan David and Angelina.
Juanita greets the mother who tells her Sister Celeste is here as the women gossip in the background, playing along and welcoming Sister Celeste.
It’s hot dogs for Oscar and Moises. They agree to secrecy, doing the John Candy Uncle Buck zipper mouth. And perfectly too!
Gloria wants all the details from Angelina. She gives her a piece of jewelry that was her mother’s as she pats her daughter’s hair. She glows about Angelina’s engagement and holds her head.
Julieta, Franco and Lucas sit down to eat and she talks about Italy. Later, she has on a sexy top as the men act like they’ve never seen a woman before. Deep sigh. Julieta looks thoughtful, fully knowing her affect.
Angelina asks Carolina what happened as Doris arrives, saying the mother wishes to see her.
Gloria, the good padre and the happy couple have dinner. I couldn’t follow the conversation, Father Gabriel seems to offer something. Gloria gets a bit teary eyed and mentions Juan David comes from a wealthy family…
Oscar asks Moises what is going on with Andres. Moises tells him the truth saying Andres says Oscar is in love with Sister Celeste! Oscar is impactada. Muy mal is Oscar’s comment. Moises teases him as Oscar frowns.
Carolina and Sister Celeste strategize.
The boys’ lessons continue.
Diana
Franco and Julieta are sitting quite cozily on a bench as Lucas and Hugo can’t help but notice. They are walking the property when she get a call she doesn’t answer. She complains about neck pain so Franco recommends she see Rosalia, who is a doctor! She goes and the women snipe a bit before Rosalia gives her a prescription although she doesn’t even examine her!
“Am I bothering you” Oscar asks Carolina. Oscar tells her that Moises told him he (Oscar) is in love with her! She smiles, saying she already knows. After a quick look of shock flashes across his face, all of a sudden, he reaches out his hand, his fingertips gently touching hers. It is impossible he asks questioningly. “Si” she answers uncertainly. There is such electricity in the air I have no doubt a power outage is a distinct possibility! Carolina quickly turns the conversation back to the Mother Superior. More is exchanged as their magnetic chemistry sparks…
“I love you” Angelina tells Juan David as they kiss tenderly.
Oscar seems grateful for all Carolina has done for Moises. He gulps and leaves as she rolls her eyes, likely wishing things were different.
Juanita is confronted by the Mother, holding some sort of schedule in her hand saying something about Sister Celeste. Juanita tries to talk her way out of it, ripping up the schedule and leaving as the Mother shakes her head.
Oscar calls Andres over and confronts him about thinking he is in love with Sister Celeste. He tells the boy he cares about and respects her. Are you sure Andres queries? You don’t love her? No, it’s impossible Oscar says. Amigos? Yes is the answer and Andres leaves as Oscar wishfully stares.
Gloria seems to be taking control of the wedding much to Angelina and Juan David’s chagrin.
At the convent, Sister Celeste takes her suitcase and leaves.
Mother Superior picks up a rosary from the floor.
Carolina frets to Father Gabriel who crosses himself as they are in church. I’m unable to ascertain as to what she asks him to do. She thanks him and then genuflects with a thumbs up.
Oscar is lost in thought as Moises questions him. Claro Oscar says, jumping up from the table.
Sister Celeste meets with the lawyer saying her sister is innocent…The lawyer says things will be difficult and mentions money. I believe the lawyer says the important thing is her sister.
The mother leads the women in prayer, berating Sister Celeste when she arrives. She admonishes the women to continue to pray and takes Sister Celeste away, showing her the rosary. I can’t follow her tirade. Then, Oscar arrives unexpectedly saying he has a surprise! Carolina is apoplectic! Oscar says to trust him and takes the Mother out of the room as Carolina rolls her eyes heavenward…And then and there, we end! Oh dear, what on earth is Oscar doing??
I wish I had understood more of the dialogue, but alas…Kindly fill in what I missed and correct what I’ve gotten wrong. I am so appreciative of your sure to be marvelous comments.

Carolina tells Mother Superior that she took an antibiotic, her fever came down and then she took a plane so Mother Superior didn't have to be alone. Mother Superior wants to know what she is doing at that house. Carolina explains that the owner of the house recognized her at the airport and offered her a lift. When she tells Mother Superior that the owner is Oscar León Mother Superior doesn't understand. Carolina told her that Oscar was ill-mannered and bad tempered and he didn't agree with bringing women to the town. Carolina insists that he has really changed.
Franco criticizes Lucas for giving Rosalía a taste of her own medicine. Lucas looks like he is having second thoughts about what he did.
Carolina makes the cuckoo sign to Oscar when Mother Superior expresses her gratitude for bringing Carolina from the airport. Oscar plays along saying it was his pleasure.
The good father, Angelina and Juan David are celebrating their engagement with tequila. Since Juan David is his nephew, the good father wants to celebrate the new family they are creating at a supper that evening with Gloria.
Moisés isn't happy that the nun had to leave and he knows his father wanted her to stay.
Gloria gives her daughter the pin that her father gave her the day she got engaged to her father. Gloria ruins the moment telling Angelina that she thought she would never get married because she looks so much like her paternal grandmother. (doesn't seem to be a good thing) She adds that the Lord taketh and the Lord giveth so he put Juan David in her path. As they say: there's a lid for every pot! Gloria wishes her the same happiness she had with her father.
At supper, Gloria asks where are Angelina and Juan David going to live. The young couple haven't thought about that. The good father solves the problem by giving them a house he owns. Gloria wants to know if it has enough room for the THREE of them. Gloria starts to guilt trip her daughter asking if she is gong to abandon her. Angelina insists that it is best that she and Juan David live alone. The good father agrees. Gloria moves on to the wedding plans. She is planning on 200 guests. Angelina asks where is the money to pay for it going to come from. Gloria says from Juan David who has more than enough money so they can do what they want. Gloria has plans for a honey moon in Europe for the THREE of them. The good father reminds her that a honeymoon is for the couple not for the family. Gloria has left the best for last. She wants to meet Juan David's parents!!! The good father gulps down a glass of wine.
Mother Superior tells Carolina that she has noticed that everyone is treating her as if she were crazy. She says it is one thing being old but completely another being out of her mind. Carolina says she will pay attention to what is going on.
The good father says that will not be possible because . . . Juan David interrupts saying he is an orphan. Gloria is so sorry to hear that. Gloria asks who has the money then. Juan David says it is his grandparents. The good priest says that he will ask for Angelina's hand. That is not good enough for Gloria . The good father says they can talk about it later as they can talk about the wedding and the honeymoon . . . They all toast to the new family and lots of kids!!
Carolina tells Celeste she has to return to the convent with Mother Superior. Celeste will go stay with a family member.
Angelina and Juan David go to see their new house.
Carolina tells Oscar that when Mother Superior leaves, she will have to go with her. Oscar is upset. He wants to talk to Mother Superior about her educating his son. She asks him not to because it will only cause her more problems. He says she has brought life back to Monteverde.
Mother Superior asks Juanita why does Celeste's number appear on the chore schedule when she has never lived there. Juanita says that list is from when they just arrived. At this moment, Carolina is helping out at the clinic.
Final blow: Andrés, as he runs to class, tells Oscar that the nun would never be interested in him anyway leaving Oscar wondering about what he just heard.
Celeste tells her fellow nun she is going to Monteverde to be with Mother Superior.
Julieta visits Rosalía because she slept funny and has a pain in her neck. Rosalía asks if she was cramped where she was sleeping. Julia makes it clear that she didn't sleep with either of the men. She ended up sleeping in an arm chair. Julieta knows she is jealous and wants to make it clear that she is interested in Franco not Lucas. Rosalía laughs. Julieta doesn't want problems with anybody.
Carolina brings the good father up to date. Mother Superior discovered that she was here at Oscar's. The good father says she cannot give classes to Moisés anymore. She is not a teacher. She says she is preparing her classes and Moisés is learning how to read and write. He is worried about the state teacher regulations. Carolina says no worries because everyone thinks she is Sister Celeste. He agrees. She remembers to make the sign of the cross.
Mother Superior says things are not adding up with "Sister Celeste's" time line of when she came and left Monteverde. She gives Carolina the rosary she found. Carolina thanks her for it. Mother Superior has the feeling that she never left Monteverde at all. Carolina says that is impossible. She herself saw her at the convent. Mother Superior says there is something strange going on and she is going to find out what it is.
The lawyer says they first have to find the money that was stolen. That is the only way to prove that Carolina's husband committed fraud and it isn't easy because usually criminals transfer the money out of the country so it cannot be traced. Celeste says that she and her sister have no money now but are selling their house to be able to pay her and the investigator that will have to be hired.
Wow! Carolina went from hating Cristina to loving her in one episode!
Baby is still in peril, IMO, from Tamara. Cristina accepted Alonso’s proposal and ring. The most interesting scene, or part of a scene, was at the end when Father S was closing in on a non-pastoral kiss with Carolina. We didn’t actually see it. Tonight we should find out what happened.
I think Marisol will expose Leonardo soon. She’s no dummy! Two weeks or less. After the fast turnaround by Carolina, everything should wrap up nicely.
I like the song; it plays in my head sometimes.
Babachita
Jarifa, thank you for your sharp observations and for filling in all the blanks, beautifully.
"Mother Superior tells Carolina that she has noticed that everyone is treating her as if she were crazy. She says it is one thing being old but completely another being out of her mind." had me smiling away!
Gloria is completely out of control! 200 wedding guests, tagging along on the honeymoon and living with the couple?? She needs to come down to earth. Quickly. Juan David doesn't have any money does he (or am I wrong?) If not, he'd best come clean.
Poor Father Gabriel is in the middle of all this muck. Lies (mostly white ones) and deceit are not sitting well with this good, very understanding and patient padre!
Interesting that Mother Superior never knew Sister Celeste had a twin. If she had, the jig would have been up long ago. She is on the right track sensing something is fishy and I suspect she will be a dog with a bone until she figures the "secret" out.
So, Moises doesn't want Carolina to leave because Oscar will be sad but "Final blow: Andrés, as he runs to class, tells Oscar that the nun would never be interested in him anyway." One in favor - one opposed.
I'm so enjoying Carolina and Oscar's connection. I sense she is going to tell him soon.
Jarifa, thank you for all your time and effort in creating this marvelous summary.

Diana, I’ll try to take notes and post the next day. I’m afraid I’m not a writer, and they’ll be brief. I don’t pay too much attention to the things I’m not interested, like the family of C names. I have to look at my character list to comment on them! Last night I kept dozing off, so don’t have much to add. I was surprised Valerio was meeting friends and wasn’t going to go to Circe’s grandmother’s service. That seemed callous of him. And they really need to fire Nazario, it seems to me he just wants to bring chaos to everyone. Rodolfo should throw them out of the house but I know they want to be close to their daughter. I think Nazario is only interested in Pipe’s inheritance. They never had any connection with him at birth. I think they knew Serena had twins but don’t remember if they ever had him for any length of time.
Liz
Liz, anything you wish to post will of course be greatly appreciated. But there's no pressure, we can discuss whatever we want to! :)
Yes, "Nazario is only interested in Pipe's inheritance". I don't think Prisma is quite as unfeeling but...You understand their dynamics far better than I!
Valerio is so self centered. No wonder he hasn't been embraced by Circe's family. Speaking of, I think we get to see his father soon.
So, I actually like Checo and his family so my comments will likely include them as I seem to usually be able to follow what's happening, so that will work out well.
Diana
Diana, no we don’t know if Juan David has any money. It seems like he doesn’t but on the other hand I think the good father has money. He had a vacant house he was willing to give away to the young couole. Some Catholc priests, depending on their function/order never have had to take a vow of poverty like Catholic nuns always do. I am thinking that the good father might be one of those. I have probably said it before, but the good father might be my favorite character in all this.
I liked that Julieta told Rosalía who she was interested in.
So how many episodes until Celeste ends up back in the convent and Carolina in Monteverde and how are they going to accomplish that or will they go somewhere unexpected? Looking forward to the next episode.
Jarifa, thank you for noting we're not sure if Juan David has money. From the way he is acting, I'd say no but who knows? :)
You're exactly right in that the good padre seems to have money and is unfailingly generous. I don't believe you've said he is your favorite before, but he is a great character. Besides being fierce, loyal and devoted (with a heart of gold), he's human. Not perfect, but pretty close.
Mother Superior is pretty sharp and I don't see how long the ruse is going escape her notice. I have no idea where this is going, but I'm enjoying the ride!
Diana
I was surprised that Christina’s parentage came to light so simply. I can’t believe Ramiro and Father S just met outside Christina’s apartment. I was thinking Ramiro would want to take the baby from Christina, just to hurt any descendants of Carolina. And how quickly. Carolina’s hate turned to love. I don’t think Christina’s feelings will be that easily changed.
Carlos wants to see his baby. He doesn’t seem to believe Christina when she tells him Tamara pushed her down the stairs. Tamara would happily kill the baby. Which I’m afraid she’s going to attempt. Carlos and his mom need to realize that girl is scary crazy.
Why hasn’t anyone told Manuel he’s a grandfather!
Liz
