Kara Para Ask – Black Money Love – Amor de Contrabando
Episode 67 #1

At the Denizer mansion:
Levent and Elif are meeting in the living room.
Levent tells her that the sales have increased. It’s the Holiday season and they are having great overseas sales. Elif is surprised but thrilled at the turnaround.
Elif: It’s perfect! It’s wonderful.
Levent: Here’s the list of companies from Europe and certain Arab states that we’ve recently reached an agreement with.
Elif looks at the list and says that the men’s collection isn’t totally ready yet.
Levent: They trust your designs so much that there are certain chains that want to buy the collection without even seeing it. This is going to be a perfect business, but you have to prepare a winter collection as soon as possible. In a month, at least, so we can catch up with New Year’s Eve sales for the year. Okay?
Elif is smiling and then admits: I know I neglected my job.
Levent: I think we need to focus on the men’s side now. If we find a good name, no one can stop us.
Elif: You’re amazing Levent. I’m grateful to you.
Levent: Actually, I have one more surprise for you.
Elif asks what it is.
Levent: I think it will really inspire you.
He smiles as she asks what it is. He says he won’t say it, and it’s very late so she should get some rest. He says he will come early in the morning and pick her up and show her the surprise.
Elif: I don’t know my schedule tomorrow, something might come up. It’s not very late. Shall I just see this mysterious surprise now? [No delayed gratification!]
Levent: Are you serious?
Elif: If it isn’t something very far away that’s unreachable right now.
Levent: No.
Elif: Come on, then!

Omer is meeting with Sami at the police station.
Sami: There’s nothing to worry about, Omer. You’ll find everything as I left it. Nobody is going to enter the room except me.
Omer: Thank you, sir.
The camera backs up to show Arda, Pelin, and [uh oh!] Husseyn.
Sami: OK. Go and find the woman (he’s referring to Fatih’s mother, Nevin). Bring back good news, please.
Omer: Hope you find it easy sir.
Sami: For all of us (herding the group out).
Husseyn: So, what are we doing? What’s the plan?
Omer: I’m thinking.
Arda: Hey, should we give Elvan a call?
Husseyn, apparently alarmed: Why?
Omer: By the way, our mother and Melike were just here. They were with Fatma and they’re in bad condition. They told me to tell you to give your 20,000L to Fatma, and I told them to bring them to our home. Do you have 20,000L? I know you took some money from the state.
Arda is listening intently.
Husseyn: Oh, these women! You sister-in-law told you this, right? They don’t leave us in peace, so they bother themselves with this issue in the middle of the night. Let it go! Come, we’ll go in my car.
Arda pipes in: No, we’ll go in mine.

Episode 67 #2
Elif has just found out what Levent’s surprise is. He made her a workshop and decorated it creatively.
Elif: There’s even a poster of my favorite movie! Oh Levent, this is incredible! Thank you so much!
Levent, basking in the praise: The poster is an original. I have a friend who found and bought it for me. And these design magazines are the latest issues.
She opens silver containers that have her favorite treats. She notices he provided the pencils she uses the most. Levent continues to smile. Elif tells him that her professor (in Italy) told her that those pencils are a designer’s treasure.
Elif: Thank you so much. Everything looks so nice.
Levent: Don’t mention it. You deserve much better things.
Elif, finishing off a sweet: I’ve got an idea. I’ll make your first coffee. Single or double shot?
Levent: Double, please.
Levent is nervous, wanting to say something.
Levent: Elif, I have one more thing to say to you.
Elif walks past him and says: Omer is going to love it here.
Levent’s face falls: Omer?
Elif: We made peace in Rome. She is putting together the coffee things and doesn’t notice that Levent looks truly stricken.
Levent: Oh, did you?
Elif is taking pictures of everything and probably sending them to Omer. She has no clue about the effect of all this on Levent.

The Four Musketeers enter a café, Omer ordering a Cocoa Rich. Arda and Pelin also order cocoa. Husseyn says he already had pastry and orders a drink and tells them not to go easy on the spice. He also calls for four liquid yogurts.
Husseyn: We are already very tired.
Omer: Here’s something else we know. We know that when we go to Tayyar, he’s not going to let us speak and then he’s going to throw us out. I want him to go crazy. When he gets crazy, he makes mistakes. He’s arrogant.
Husseyn: OK, let him go crazy and draw the attention on himself. Congratulations. I’m saying this for your sake: Sami went and spoke with the patron (the Big Boss) and saved your hide, but it won’t happen for the second time. They’ll just lop your head off and drop it in the garbage.
Omer: OK, what do you want to say?
Husseyn: What I’m saying is obvious. I’m saying protect yourself. You caught Fatih. He’s now inside, nice, maybe he won’t speak. All you have in your hands are these two complaints. Let’s say that Tayyar really kidnapped this man’s mother. Well, what are you going to do? Even if we swoop down on every single one of Tayyar’s properties, it won’t be in time before the detention ends. We did everything we could. Going to Tayyar’s door brings only trouble for you.
Omer: Husseyn, we only have this much left. Do you see? This much. And you come to me and say that I have to give up. You’re teaching the profession to us like this?
Husseyn: Is that what you got from what I said?
Omer: Yes, yes, it is. You’re saying we have to stop following criminals so they can just go free and that we shouldn’t seek justice for innocent people. (Arda is looking intently at Husseyn during this exchange). Do you know how many people Tayyar has killed?
Husseyn: Congratulations. It was my mistake to think about your well-being. I am trying to protect my brother and he’s blaming me. Bravo! Bravo! Bravo! As long as I’m your chief, neither you nor anybody else from this team can go to that door before getting permission from the prosecutor.
Omer, looking very serious: My brother.
Husseyn: No brother talk here! I’m talking to you as your chief now. Go and get the permission; if you can then we can go from there.
Pelin: Omer, Husseyn is right. It’s like your punishment was postponed. It’s a risk. You might find yourself in a situation where you can’t do anything. Act cautiously.

Episode 67 #3
Omer, angrily: Nobody has to think about my well-being, Pelin. People out there trust us. They say the police are doing a good job and they sleep peacefully. I’ll catch Tayyar Dundar at all costs. (to Husseyn) If you don’t believe that I can catch that man, if you don’t believe in this case then leave. Don’t demoralize us by saying something negative every two minutes. Don’t risk yourself and your profession.
Lots of stares all around.
Husseyn: You say I don’t believe in you, I demoralize you. If you don’t want me here, I won’t stay. I see many brave men around me that destroyed themselves because of their obstinacy while just getting older every day. I am speaking for you to stay alive, to go on in your profession so you can save more lives. But don’t worry, I’m leaving.

Arda and Pelin both speak up, asking him to wait.
Arda: Don’t do this. Don’t fight. Don’t personalize the situation.
Husseyn: No, I’d better go. He’s going to eat all of us. Look, Arda, I leave Omer to you. He’s very angry. Obviously, he’s going to make a mistake. If anything happens, just call me immediately. I’ll say today Omer was coming to you. I stopped him.
Arda agrees, but he watches thoughtfully as Husseyn leaves. Husseyn gets into a cab.

In the cab, Husseyn calls what must be Tayyar, although we don’t hear the name: Listen up. Just know this. He has become obsessed with you. He doesn’t have any intention to stop following you. No, they don’t have anything in their hands. Yeah, yeah, but tell Ali to be prepared because Fatih gave his name. He also, uh, talked about me, but he didn’t say my name. Yeah, no they can’t do anything. They’ll set your baby free tomorrow. So, you’ll do what’s required? Yeah, don’t worry. I think you should try and sleep in peace.

Elif is designing in her new workshop. Levent is watching her as he drinks some coffee. He tells her it is very late and wants to drive her home. She tells him he can leave if he wants. She is loving it there and wants to work. She has colors, models, ideas flying through her mind and she doesn’t want to leave. Levent agrees and leaves a car key for her.
Elif: You don’t need to do this. I’ll call a cab or get Mustaffah to pick me up or something.
Levent: Don’t worry. It’s the company’s car. It’s yours. Good night, then.
He smiles and leaves. Elif smiles back, thanks him, and follows him to the door.
Elif: Don’t worry! I’ll make the best designs for you so our sales will be like 10 number five stars like Omer says.
At the door Levent says good night, and Elif does so as well and locks the door.

At a restaurant, Omer is with Arda and Pelin. Omer asks for three glasses of strong tea.
Pelin: Omer, you get angry when I say it, but if we just think about it. We can find a way out. Let’s not ignore Husseyn.
Omer: We’re doing a job here. Family life and professional life. These are different things. Husseyn’s acting from his emotions . I’ll go to Tayyar if it’s necessary.
Omer’s phone rings. It’s the prosecutor.
Omer: Hello Sir, how are you doing? No, the case isn’t ready yet, unfortunately. Look, I’ll come and see you at seven o’clock with Fatih Dundar’s confession. (He listens for a bit, then says): Yes, Sir, good night, Sir, have a good night. Omer hangs up.
Arda: What is he saying?
Omer, looking frustrated, answers: He wanted to know what we’ve been doing, so I lied. He asked if we wanted to detain Fatih for longer.
Pelin: What are we going to do, then?
Omer, thinks a bit: What are we going to do? We’ll go and see the judge at 7:00 with Fatih’s statement in the file.
Arda: OK, all right, fine. So, are we going to sit like this or are we going to go to Tayyar’s house?

Episode 67 #4
Omer: We don’t need to go to Tayyar’s house. I have a better idea. We’re going to mislead Tayyar, make him get in touch with his informant. Pelin, make an announcement on the wireless in a little while. Tell all the teams that Metin is going to be taken to the hospital. Again, for a health check. Tell Sami and Fikret to take Metin to the hospital and tell all the teams that we’re going to join them on the way. I’m sure Tayyar Dundar would not want to miss the opportunity. This is our last chance to get Metin kidnapped and remove him.
Arda: Are we putting Metin in danger? He could easily die from this, you know.
Omer: Once we get Fatih out of the police station, we’ll give him to Sami. He’s going to hide him.
Pelin: Omer, what exactly are you targeting with this plan? I don’t really get it. In the end Tayyar is not going to come himself to take Fatih. We won’t be able to catch him in the act.
Omer: Not him but we are going to catch one of his men and make him speak. We can learn where Fatih’s mother is only from the person who’s on the inside.
They all nod In agreement.

At the workshop, Elif’s phone rings. It’s Omer asking “my beautiful Elif” if she’s awake because he needs her to pray for him again. Naturally, that leads her to call him back. He is still with Arda and Pelin in the restaurant. He answers right away.
Elif: Omer, what’s the matter?
Omer: Why are you still awake? It’s one in the morning. Aren’t you tired?
Elif is surprised it is that late. She said she got busy and didn’t notice how time had passed.
Omer: Where are you?
Elif: I’m in my workshop. I sent you some pictures.
Omer: I was busy and couldn’t look at the phone. Where is the workshop? How did it happen?
Elif: In Kadekoy.
Omer: Great, we’re close to each other. Send me the location. We’ll talk face to face.
Elif: OK. I have something to tell you.
Omer: What happened?
Elif: Tayyar Dundar came to our house.
Omer: OK, I’m coming over now.
Meanwhile, Arda and Pelin are arguing about the amount of pepper Pelin likes on her food. Pelin says they warned him not to eat it,
Omer returns from the call and tells Arda to take Pelin and go to the police station and make it look like we are really taking Fatih to the hospital. Let’s see if Tayyar’s informant buys this. Arda acquiesces and Omer says: We’re good to go.
Omer to Pelin: Call Ali and talk about the transfer where people can hear you, and be careful, he shouldn’t realize what you’re doing.
Pelin: OK, don’t worry, he won’t know a thing.
Omer: OK, We’ll keep in touch.
Arda: Where are you going?
Omer: Please don’t be mad at me, but Elif is nearby and Tayyar has been in their house They had an argument and I’m going to go over and talk about it. Besides, when she’s out alone, I don’t feel comfortable.
Arda: No, no! Why would I be mad at you? You are in love. Of course you’ll want to be next to her. I’m not one of those prescriptive cops.
Pelin: I’ll make an announcement on the radio. I’ll call Ali, too. You’ll manage Chief Sami and Arda will spread the word, OK?
Omer: Got it.
Arda: OK, come to the bridge when you’ve talked and we’ll manage the rest, OK?
Omer: OK, Stay in touch.
All three leave.

Episode 67 #5
Arda and Pelin walk together up the street.
Pelin: Should I make the announcement when we arrive at the police station or throw this radio to your head (when she realizes Arda isn’t listening)? Arda! You listening?
Arda: What happened?
Pelin: Oh, my goodness, you were diving into deep oceans. I was speaking to you.
Arda: I had something on my mind?
Pelin: Was it something about the plan? Do you think there’s a problem?
Arda: No, I think the plan is great. I think it’ll work out.
Pelin: What were you thinking, then?
Arda: The cop amongst us, the one who is selling us out….
Pelin interrupts: Fatih said it was Ali.
Arda: Not only Ali, there was someone else.
Pelin: Must be someone from another department. We don’t think we know him.
Arda: I think he’s from our department who is very close to us.
Pelin: Arda! Please don’t talk like Sami. You know this drives me crazy.
Arda: But he was proven to be right.
Pelin: Who is it then?
Arda looks in all directions to be sure no one can hear him, then answers: Husseyn.
[Bingo, I think!]
Pelin: No way!
Arda: Isn’t he always complaining about money and how difficult it is to survive, but we accidentally find out that he has 20,000L in the bank. He has saved it for his daughter’s school.
Pelin: Can’t he just have saved some money for his kid?
Arda: Bring home the bacon with only one salary, educate two children, and save 20,000L. How nice.
Pelin: How can you think like this? You’re a traitor. So, this money makes our chief someone that we’ve known for 20 years a bad guy? Is that what it is?
Arda: Then what about his constant absences?
Pelin: He is the chief, Arda, this isn’t his only case. He must be doing his job.
Arda: OK. What do you say about the fact that he is continuously changing his mind about the Tayyar Dundar case? One day he says he’s with us, the next day he’s arguing with Omer.
Pelin: Rubbish, Shut up! He’s taking a step back for his brother. If he was working for Tayyar, would he have come to save Nilufer? Why would he get shot?
Arda: Simple. To not draw attention.
Pelin: Oh, my goodness, he had a close brush with death. Look, get those silly thoughts out of your head. You’ve been watching too many American films. This much I can say. I can’t believe this! Arda, Husseyn and Omer would be ruined if they heard about what you are saying to me. So, let alone expressing it, stop even thinking about it! OK?
Arda, raises a hand: OK. OK. I will shut up but my mind doesn’t. Open your eyes, Pelin, open your eyes. Look at this thing from my perspective for once.
Arda is walking off.
Pelin: Well, then close your mind and your mouth at once. Oh, my goodness, goodness.

At Elif’s studio, she opens the door for Omer. She kisses him hello. He asks why she is there at that time of the night, and she replies that he should come in.
Elif: You could have said, enjoy your new workshop. You are macho today. I’m just working in my workshop. Is that bad?
Omer: It’s a very flashy place! [Does he know or suspect that Levent did this?] I didn’t know you had a workshop like this.
Elif: I didn’t know it either until today.

Episode 67 # 6
Omer: How’s that?
Elif: Levent and some friends at work did it for me. They wanted to surprise me.
Omer: Levent? (She nods yes.) Why did he need to surprise you? Elif how could you accept it?
Elif: Omer, He didn’t finance this from his own pocket. This workshop was made by the company in remuneration for my effort.
Omer: Elif, I’m not talking about money here. I’m talking about the guy showing off. Look around. He’s literally doing anything he can to impress you. Look, the poster of your favorite movie, look, look, look, your favorite flowers, your favorite chocolate, even your favorite pencils. What else?
Elif: You’re talking nonsense, Omer.
Omer: So, you can tell your secrets to anybody. You told me, you told Levent, it just doesn’t make any difference.
Elif: I haven’t said anything to Levent. He must have heard it from Bahar.
They glower at one another.
Omer’s radio goes off: Fatih Dundar is heading off to be taken back to the (might be Okmeydani) hospital for a health check. Attention to the teams who are concerned.
Elif: What’s going on?

The radio goes on again, and this time Husseyn hears it: Attention all departments, the suspect Fatih Dundar is going to be sent for a second medical check. Additional teams are needed in front of the Okmeydani [maybe] hospital.
Husseyn jumps out of bed to listen to the walkie talkie. Melike: You could just switch this off while we’re asleep, Husseyn.
Husseyn: Shut up! I don’t understand what they said. (He is able to hear the end of the message.)
Husseyn gets dressed.
Melike: Where are you going?
Husseyn: I’m going to jump rope. Sleep. Don’t make me angry in the middle of the night.
Melike: OK. (She lies back down unhappily.)
Melike: Be quiet. You’re going to wake Fatma. Try and be a little more considerate.
Husseyn leaves quickly.

Back in Elif’s workshop:
Omer, explaning what the walkie talkie notice was about): We didn’t have another option.
His phone rings.
Omer: What’s happened, Pelo? We’re heading off. OK I’m coming now.
Elif: Omer, this is really dangerous. Even if the plan works well, you’re risking yourself. What will I do if something happened to you?
Omer: Go home and sleep. We’ll talk in the morning. (He kisses her forehead.)
Elif: Please, I beg you, don’t leave like this.
Omer: Beautiful Elif (he gives her a loving look), we’ll talk in the morning.
Elif sniffles and looks around her workshop, noticing the car keys.

At the hospital, Omer gets out of a cab. An ambulance or van pulls up, and he gets in the back and finds Arda and Pelin.
Omer: You’re just in time. I was going to call you.
Arda: It is impossible to be late whenever Pelin is involved.
Omer hollers to the driver: What’s up, Fikret?
Fikret: Nothing.
Pelin: Don’t forget this. Put it on. (She gives him a bulletproof vest.)
Omer: I hate wearing this thing.
Arda: Tell me about it. This is ridiculous. What are we, Robocop?
Pelin: Stop moaning and wear them.

Episode 67 # 7
Omer: So, what did you do?
Arda: I’ve made it public to the best of my ability in the police station.
Pelin: I called Ali, spoke to him and he didn’t get suspicious.
Arda: Metin and Sami came with us. We secretly transferred him. Chief Sami’s guys welcomed us, and they took him to the department.
Omer, listening carefully: Very well, then let’s reel these guys in.
Pelin refers to Omer with a different name, something like Devrim, my guess is it might mean boss: How is Elif?
Omer: Uh, she’s fine. Fikret, step on the gas man and use the road that we always take to go to the hospital. Since the informant is a cop, he must have sent the location to his friends, right?

Three hours left. [Now we know the 16 hours I thought was a flash-back was actually a flash-forward. We are getting close to the zero hour.]

In the back of the van/ambulance Omer is playing with the pocket watch that Elif gave him. Everyone has their game face on. Fikret looks very serious.
He tells Omer: Let the show begin. They’ve arrived. Omer quickly puts the pocket watch into his breast pocket. They prepare their handguns as they peer out the back window. Arda comments that it’s always the same trick. There is what looks like a police road block, but one police car is stalled.
Arda: Look, I’m not the only one who watches American movies.
Omer: Are you ready?
Arda answers yes.
Someone comes to their vehicle from the stalled auto and asks Fikret how he is doing: Something went wrong. We think it’s a battery. Can you help us?
Fikret agrees and gets out.
The driver says: The light suddenly went off. I don’t understand anything. We were just driving and then it went off. It’s the weirdest thing.
While he is talking, another man from the “stalled car” runs up the outer side of the van and opens the back door. To his surprise, our three cops are there, pistols drawn, yelling: Hands up. (They are assisted by the first man, who cuffs the guilty man.) Turn around. Don’t move. Open your legs.
The three get out and help. Is he clear?
Fikret says he is clear.
Arda: Stand still. Keep your hands up.
Omer: Did Tayyar send you? Were you going to kidnap Metin?
The man looks confused: Tayyar? Who are you talking about, Chief?
Omer: Ah, since you’re calling me “chief,” then you must be experienced in this business. You wouldn’t find the handcuffs odd then. (He calls for the cuffs to be tighter.)

At Tayyar’s home Tayyar looks concerned. He is holding his phone, probably waiting for a call.

Episode 67 #8
Meanwhile, back at the van, Omer is speaking: You know what, I would speak if I were you, or I’ll rub your face in the asphalt and burn it.
Culprit: We don’t know who Tayyar is.
Arda: Who is your boss? Who gives you orders?
Culprit: From Nevsat. He knows Tayyar.
Arda asks: Where is Nevsat?
Omer repeats the question.
The Culprit says he’s already gone, Chief. Something urgent happened and they disappeared this evening. He phoned and gave us an order and we came here.
Omer: Where have they gone?
Culprit: I don’t know. I swear I don’t know.
Omer: You must have friends who have gone with them. There must be friends who might know. Did they mention a woman, an old one?
Culprit: Name is Jamal.
Omer: OK, come here. Stand up.
Omer throws him on to the side of the van and asks: Where’s your phone?
Omer looks at the phone. He asks: Where can I find Jamal’s number?
Culprit: It says Jamal Albi [or something like that].
Omer gives him his phone: You’re going to find out where he is and you won’t let him suspect anything. Do you understand?
Omer makes the call and Culprit complies: Hello, Jamal, where are you?
He is asked what happened.
Culprit: Nevzat told us to go for help.
Jamal: I’m at Fatih’s; I’ll text the address.
Culprit, after Omer shoves him: Tell me now. I’ll keep it in mind.
Jamal: The street right behind Zerak Khan in Fatih’s red house on the corner.
Culprit: That sounds good.
Omer is smiling that they finally have this location.

We see Nevin gagged and tied to a chair in the middle of a room. She might be unconscious.

Omer walks up a sidewalk and gets in the passenger seat of the van.
Pelin: Fikret took the men to the police station, no problem.
Omer: Good. There’s a garden at the back of the house. There might be a door there. There are three. Two went in. One of them is waiting at the door. You come with me, Arda. Pelo you wait here.
Pelin: Omer, let’s wait for backup.
Omer: We don’t have time. We’ll manage with Arda. You wait for additional teams. Once they arrive, watch the door.
They agree, and Omer tells Arda: OK, brother, let’s go.
Arda and Omer carefully walk along a wall, approach the red dwelling, while Pelin watches with a worried expression. Pelin looks down: Ah! Oh, my goodness (as she finds Omer left his protective vest). Uff uff!
Just then, the passenger door opens, and Elif hops in!
Pelin: Elif, what are you doing here? How did you find us?
Elif: I was following you. Omer taught me how to follow without being noticed. Where are they?
Pelin: We found Fatih’s mother. It’s very dangerous that you’re here. Leave immediately. Omer would go crazy if he saw you here.
Elif: I’m not going anywhere before Omer comes back, Pelin.
Meanwhile, Omer and Arda have come to the end of the wall. Their guns are drawn. They see a man crossing the street. He mistakenly turns his back on them, and Omer gives him a blow with his handgun, knocking him out and leaving him on the ground. Omer is able to enter the red house. A man comes in the room and Omer yells: Stop, down down down down!
The man complies.

Episode 67 #9
Omer tells him to move the gun away, which he does. Then Omer stands him up. Arda brings in another man and tells him the back side is clear. Omer cuffs his guy, then the other one.
Omer: That’s two. There’s one more. Handcuff the guys outside, OK?
Arda takes his guy outside, holding a gun to his back.
Omer looks out the window to the street, then starts checking the rooms in the house. He goes into one room and finds Nevin.
Omer: Don’t be afraid, I’m a cop. He shows her his ID.
Nevin: My son! My son!
Omer: Your son is fine. He’s at the station. I’ll take you to your son.
Outside, Arda has one guy (the one Omer hit with his gun) cuffed to a pipe and two more standing in front of him.
Arda looks into the window of the red house. He hollers: Hurry up! Let’s go right away. They may drop in now. Come on!
Omer, freeing Nevin with difficulty: Understood. Take the men to the car. I’ll manage here. Here, come with me (to Nevin).
Arda orders the two standing guys to get going. He will follow with the gun.
Pelin tells Elif: I’ll go and have a look. Elif, don’t get out of the car. Ever! If you see someone approaching the house, sounds the horn with full power and leave immediately, OK?
Elif nods. Pelin joins Arda with the two captives. She asks where Omer is.
Arda: He is coming. There is a weak man at the door. Let’s stuff these guys in the car first.
Omer appears at the door of the red house with Nevin, ready to leave. He ushers her out.
Then, all of a sudden, Pelin’s guy gives her a big shove toward the wall and grabs her gun. Arda hollers: Stop!
Omer is with Nevin. Bad guy raises his gun. Omer shoves Nevin out of the way. Bad guys shoots three rounds at Omer. Omer collapses to the ground.
Elif hollers and leaves the van. Pelin hollers and runs to Omer.
Omer places his hand over his heart. He is obviously in pain.
Arda reaches him first. Omer! Then Pelin: Omer! Oh no! and then Elif.
Elif: He’s bleeding a lot. She holds his head. Pelin is traumatized. Omer closes his eyes.
Arda finally thinks to call an ambulance. Omer’s eyes are open again as Elif holds him.
Elif: Omer! Do you hear me? Omer! Do you hear me?
Omer seems to be trying to stay awake and wants to say something but can’t.
Elif: Don’t leave me! Do you hear me? Omer! [I’m having a thought very unrelated to what’s going on: His thoughtful, wonderful gazes are always great, even when he might be dying! What a guy!] He keeps his eyes open on Elif. Then he speaks: I love you so much, Elif. Then he smiles ruefully and closes his eyes. Elif begs him to open his eyes again. But he can’t.
Arda: Why Omer, why?

Episode 67 #10
Pelin is still traumatized.
Elif begs him to open his eyes, to stay with her.
Then we see a stormy sky. Poor Nevin is sitting on the ground against the red house. I don’t know if she even knows what happened.
Finally, a siren. Arda takes charge. Please be strong. he tells Omer they are taking him to the hospital and to be stonrg. Everything’s going to be fine. I’m here with you.
Then they see the pocket watch that Elif gave Omer, broken with blood on it, on the ground.

Tayyar is pacing at his home. Finally, his phone rings.
Tayyar: I hope this time you have some good news after keeping me waiting so long.
Ali: Things didn’t go well, Tayyar.
Tayyar: What the h… do you mean? Where’s Metin?
Alli: Metin’s not here. They rescued his mother as well.
Tayyar: What? Dammit, who took that woman away from me, was it Omer?
Ali: Yeah. One of your men was very courageous and shot Omer. He’s very badly wounded and may not make it.
Tayyar begins to smile: Oh, really?

The ambulance drives off with Omer and Elif. Arda and Pelin are still at the scene, with Nevin standing next to the red house.
Pelin keeps crying about where she went wrong! Arda tries to snap her out of it, he tells her everything is going to be OK. Pelin! What’s wrong?
Pelin: What have I done? What have I done? She rocks back and forth.
Arda tells her Omer will be alright. He’ll soon recover.
She continues to wail inconsolably about what has she done.
We see a dark car approach followed by two police cars, passing the white van that is still parked on the street. Sami gets out of the driver’s seat.
Sami: So, tell me what happened.

In the ambulance, Elif holds Omer’s hand. His pulse gets very low and then stops. They bring out the defibrillator. They give him three shocks, and…

End of Episode 67!

Thanks Babachita! Excellent as always!

It was unclear to me what happened to the guy who shot Omer, but it did show him on the ground after Omer was shot, and we saw Arda with a gun so I'm thinking Arda shot him after he shot Omer? He didn't take the time to kick the gun out of his hand before everyone ran to Omer's side though, that was dangerous.

I'm guessing the suspicion might fall on Pelo now, since it was her gun, the guy grabbed to shoot Omer and it's too soon for anyone but Arda to suspect Huseyin. Maybe that's what will finally push Arda and Pelo together? We know Sami still thinks someone in the unit is dirty... just a guess. Poor Pelo is beside herself clearly, on the other hand, if she was dirty, would she be beside herself? Surely, that's got to make Sami stop and think unless he is going to think she's faking it. I don't know if Omer or Elif would suspect her though, but then Omer wouldn't suspect his brother either.

Omer's jealousy of Levent is dumb kind of like Levent himself, lol

Your plan for the next few weeks - skipping the holiday weekend - sounds good to me! :)

kpa

Very good question, Darcy! I was so focused on the main action that I didn't pay attention to the shooter.

I went back and watched it. There were three shots. The first two from the shooter hit Omer in the chest. The third from behind hit the shooter in the back. Arda was running at the shooter with gun drawn, so I assume he shot him. Of course, that can be risky to assume in dizis, so I might be wrong. We see the shooter wounded or dead on the ground after he is shot in the back.

I think the shooting will cause more problems for the relationships among members of Omer’s group. I think Pelin will have such guilt that it affects her work. If Sami suspects her, even worse. Arda already suspects Husseyn, which Pelin strongly disagrees with. Husseyn will be worried about Omer. Sami won't trust anyone!

IIRC, the 16 hour flash forward showed the scene differently. Perhaps it was a dream.

Thanks Babachita. I watched this episode a few weeks back. Nothing is fresh in my mind so I can't add much. I didn't get the impression that anyone will think Pelin is the inside man though. They will think she was stupid. Why the guy wasn't handcuffed behind his back stood out to me. He would have had a much harder time getting and shooting her gun if he had been. Also omer not wearing his bulletproof vest was bad police work on his part.

OT

Mondays the day. I have to be at the hospital an hour from home at 5:15 a.m. for my hip replacement. I'm having the longer to recover from procedure. I've refrained from starting any new TNs this month, but if I'm bored during my recuperation I'll try and start some of the new ones since You tube TV brought back Univision....

And to add to my exciting life, for the past 6 1/2 years I've been driving 22 miles to my daughter's 3-5 days a week at 6:30 a.m. Dawn brings deer. This morning the law of averages caught up with me and a deer ran into the side of my car, fortunately doing minor damage to the passenger door. It would have been a pain if just before the surgery the car was totaled and we would have had to use the truck to transport me home on Tuesday....

OT

Kat, it’s good to hear from you! Your life lately could be a telenovela! I’m glad the deer didn’t do much damage. We will be thinking of you on Monday! Hope the operation goes smoothly. If you need some entertainment during recuperation, we’ll be here! Best of luck to you on Monday.

Darcy, I didn’t get the chance to say thank you for last week’s recap. You covered it all very well and I’m glad you’re part of the recap team.

Thanks for this week’s recap, Babachita. Arda shot and killed they guy who shot Omer. I thought the same as Darcy, why didn’t he kick the gun away to be sure? I can’t remember the exact circumstance, but Sami already has some suspicion of Pelin. This will make it worse. And they didn’t want to give too much away in the flash forward. It did seem dreamlike.

OT Kat
Thanks for sharing, Kat. I second Babachita’s words. Wishing you all the best. My thoughts will be with you on Monday and hope to see you back on Caray soon.

#68 part 1

While Omer’s life hangs in the balance, Sami orders the baddies and Nevin to be taken to the station for questioning. He says to make sure Nevin speaks to no one but him.

Sami tells Arda he’ll need a statement from him since he shot someone but lets him go to the hospital first to check on Omer. Then he turns to Pelin and reprimands her for being irresponsible. Omer is fighting for his life because of you, he says, this won’t end here.

Arda objects to Sami’s treatment of Pelin. If you are hurting, know that we’re hurting a thousand times more. Omer is our brother. We wouldn’t throw him into the fire! Sami says he’ll go see Fatih and then come to the hospital. He looks at Pelo—pray that nothing happens to Omer. If something happens… Sami leaves.

Pelo sinks to her knees and sobs. What will I do if something happens to Omer? How will I live? Arda tries to comfort her. Sami is right, she cries, it’s my fault, my stupidity. Arda lifts her up—let’s go to the hospital.

Omer survived the ambulance trip. He’s going directly to the OR. The doc asks Elif, do you know his blood type? She doesn’t but it must be on his ID. Before Omer is wheeled through the doors, Elif bends over him. I’m not going anywhere, komiser, and don’t you go, or I’ll make you pay dearly. She kisses his forehead.

Fatih is agitated, pacing back and forth in an interrogation room. He shouts at the guard and demands to see Omer. How long do I have to wait?! Where is my mother?! He gets no answers and rips the newspaper out of the guard’s hands. The guard threatens to beat him.

Sami walks in on this. Fatih immediately asks if Omer is back with his mother. Sami motions outside the door. Nevin enters. Mother and child reunion. Omer kept his promise, Fatih says, where is he? Sami tells him one of the men with his mother shot Omer and it’s serious. After I take your statements, I will go see him. Tell me everything just like you promised Omer. I will pull the string on Tayyar.

Fatih looks at his mother. She looks worried and he hesitates. A cop enters the room. He tells Sami that Chief Sevki wants to see him. It’s probably about what happened. Sami tells Fatih he will be right back.

Sami leaves and the guard steps outside the door. Nevin does not want Fatih to speak against Tayyar. He will kill us and Nilufer, even from prison.

Tayyar meets with Ali. He asks, where is Nevin? At the police station, Ali replies. Did Fatih talk when he saw his mother, Tayyar asks. Ali doesn’t know. Sami took him to Financial Crimes. He has Fatih and his mother. Tayyar says they underestimated Omer. See if you can find out if Fatih confessed, then we will decide what to do. Ali says it will be difficult since it’s Sami’s operation. Tayyar explodes—find out!!

Tayyar asks about Omer. Is he that bad? They say he might not make it through the night, Ali replies, we’ll bury him and recite al-Fatiha. You’ll be safe. Tayyar asks if Huseyin knows. Ali says he tried calling him, but his phone was off. Either he’s praying for his brother or sleeping soundly. Tayyar thinks if Huseyin heard, he would have contacted him. The news hasn’t reached him yet.

Time to eat at the Demir household. Melike serves the menemen. Fatma hovers nearby and Melike asks her to come sit. I’m not hungry, Fatma answers. Melike takes her by the arm and leads her to the table. Elvan brings the bread and asks for Huseyin. Melike says he’s at the pigeon coop.

The phone rings and Elvan answers. It’s Elif. Elvan gives her a cheery greeting and Fatma gives a big hmph. She comments to Hatice, her (Elvan’s) face lights up. Elif doesn’t answer Elvan right away—hello? The line might have dropped. Elif, are you there?

kpa
#68 part 2

Elif finally answers, I’m here Elvan Teyze. I have to tell you something. Elvan frowns, what happened? Elif says, we’re at the hospital. Don’t say Omer, Elvan answers, Elif, don’t say Omer. Did something happen to my Omer? Elif tries to find the words. Omer is okay… but there was a gunfight… and Omer was wounded.

Elvan drops the phone and falls to the floor. She cries out for Omer. Melike rushes to her. Huseyin rushes in. What happened? Huseyin yells at Melike. I don’t know, she shouts back, Elif called, and mom got upset. Huseyin picks up the phone. Elif tells him Omer was shot and Huseyin crushes the tea glass he’s holding.

Sami picks up with Fatih. He tells him we will be alone when you give your statement. I can only allow your lawyer to be present. Fatih says, if you know a safer place than here, take my mother. Arda enters the room. He’s back for duty and Pelo went to the hospital. Do you need anything? Sami asks if Omer is out of surgery yet. Not yet.

Sami tells Arda they need to bring Nevin somewhere safe. He says take Fikret with you and go to a police rest house. Place Nevin under Fikret’s mother’s name. You stay with her; can you do this? Arda says yes. Sami assures Fatih that his mom will be safe. Mother and son hug. She whispers in his ear, don’t forget what I said.

Arda explains to Nevin, everything will settle in a few days and then we will transfer you to a safe house. For now, you’ll be our number one guest in the police house. And my son, Nevin asks. He’s safe, Arda replies, don’t worry. He’s our most important witness. Arda tells her she will need to testify too because she was forced to come from Bulgaria. Don’t you want to file a complaint?

Nevin doesn’t want to file a complaint. Arda is shocked. That filthy Tayyar kidnapped you, he notes. You must testify and make a complaint. He asks, who brought you from Bulgaria? Please don’t ask me for anything, Nevin begs. Arda is insistent. My brother was shot during the operation to save you. He’s fighting for his life. We rescued you and your son. It’s your turn to help us. Please. I can’t do it, she says and starts walking.

Sami is ready to start the interrogation and Fatih says there’s nothing for him to tell. I will only talk to Omer. Sami reminds him that Omer was shot. Fatih says then they can talk when Omer recovers. Sami gets in Fatih’s face. He was shot protecting your mother. That’s why you will tell me everything.
There’s no time for games. Fatih repeats he will only talk to Omer. Sami grabs him by the collar. Fatih says he’s got the right to remain silent. Fatih’s lawyer tells Sami to back off. Fatih won’t talk.

Vigil outside the OR. Bahar and Levent show up. The doctor appears. The operation is over. We removed 2 bullets. One from the shoulder and one close to his heart. The patient also had a pocket watch with him. Elif’s gift. The doc says, your gift saved Omer Bey’s life. The bullet hit the watch and changed course and missed the heart.

Elvan asks if Omer will live. Doc says it’s still dangerous. The next 48 hours are critical. Elif asks if there is anything else to do, like transfer him to another hospital? Doc says no, all you can do now is pray for him. Geçmiş olsun. Elif asks if they can see him. Not all of them, his mother and brother are here. Doc will permit 2 people, one at a time, and only for 5 minutes.

#68 part 3

Ali tells Tayyar that Fatih hasn’t talked yet. He insisted on talking only to Omer and he has a hearing tomorrow. The others haven’t talked and Nevin has not given a statement either or filed a complaint. She’s being kept in a police house. He asks, do you want me to get her? Tayyar says to wait until after the hearing. He asks if there’s news about Omer. Ali thinks Omer is a goner. Tayyer hopes Huseyin won’t be a problem. Ali says there’s nothing Huseyin can do.

The wait at the hospital continues. The Demirs sit together. Elif’s sisters are with her. Fatma and Hatice are there and so are Arda and Pelin. A nurse comes out and says that 2 people can visit Omer, one at a time. Elvan tells Huseyin to go first. The nurse helps him with a gown. Huseyin asks her, will my brother be okay? She doesn’t know.

Huseyin heads towards the room. He can see Omer through the glass. Omer is hooked up to all sorts of medical equipment. Huseyin is devastated. He reaches for the doorknob, but then he turns away with tears in his eyes. He leaves the ICU, walks down the hallway and collapses on a stairway. He cries, my God what have I done? He’s really beating himself up.

Melike finds her hubby there. Huseyin, don’t blame yourself, Allah wrote it this way. It was our destiny. This isn’t destiny, Huseyin replies, such a destiny doesn’t exist. He gets up and starts walking. Melike calls after him, it’s not your fault. He wanted to be a cop. You can’t keep your eye on him all the time.

Melike returns to the others. She tells them that Huseyin left, crying. He felt very bad when he saw his brother. The nurse comes out and says the patient’s mother can come now. Elvan looks over at Elif. She tells the nurse she feels very bad, just like Huseyin did. Let Omer’s fiancée go in. Elif is surprised. She quickly gets up and follows the nurse. Fatma whispers to Hatice, did you hear her words? His fiancée, tövbe tövbe.

Huseyin gets stuck in traffic. He puts his gun in his waistband and walks away from his car.

Elif walks down the hall to Omer’s room. She looks at him through the glass, takes a breath and enters. She takes Omer’s hand and sits on the bed. My love, I’ve come… your signorina. I was so afraid I wouldn’t see you, but Elvan Anne decided I should. She said to let your fiancée in and hold your hand. Did you hear? She said fiancée. I couldn’t say, no, komiser Omer hasn’t proposed to me yet. I couldn’t disappoint her.

Elif continues, Omer, we have so many more things to experience together. I found you late, I can’t lose you so early. I didn’t even know your blood type. There are many more things I don’t know about you. What kind of child were you? What were you like? What did you do when you lost your father? You’ll tell me everything, okay? You entered my life and now you are the owner of my heart.

So, you have a responsibility, komiser, Elif tells him. We haven’t even gone to the cinema. I mean, you came that day and said, let’s go, but we didn’t. We never watched the sunrise together, walking for hours, holding hands, feeling a gentle breeze. We haven’t gone on vacation yet. We didn’t swim in the sea. We didn’t sing to each other on a moonlit night.

Komiser, we don’t even have a song. What kind of song should we have? Let it not be something sad and tearful. We’ve both cried enough. You told me you loved me once again today, and then you closed your eyes. The first time you said it was at breakfast. I ruined your confession. Come on, komiser, open your eyes. Open your eyes and tell me that you love me.

#68 part 4

Huseyin shows up at Tayyar’s house. He’s told Tayyar has been waiting for him. A henchie goes to search Huseyin and takes his gun. Tayyar is in his study working on a jigsaw puzzle and he’s frustrated. Huseyin is let in and greets him, selamün aleyküm, emmoğlu. Aleyküm selam emmoğlu, Tayyar returns the greeting. It’s an obsession of mine (puzzles), Tayyar explains, if I can’t find a piece, it drives me crazy. Tell me, does this kind of thing happen to you?

Of course, Huseyin angrily answers, I don’t like to leave food on my plate or dirt behind. My mother taught me this when I was little. Tayyar tells him to sit. Tell me what is this important thing that Omer found. No need, Huseyin replies. Tayyar gets up from his desk and approaches Huseyin. Did you get angry because I invited you here? No need for this tension. This is the first time you’ve been a guest here in all these years. No need to hide in corners. Huseyin growls back, you can’t say that you’re scared to meet me alone. Sometimes when you feel helpless, you go crazy. Have you ever been helpless? What happened? I can see you’re a little scared. You’re right to feel that way. If I were in your place, I’d be scared, too.

Tayyar pushes Huseyin back a bit. Look I didn’t want it to be this way, he says. Huseyin removes Tayyar’s hand and says, you wanted it exactly like this. You wanted me left without a brother! To be a dog at your door! To bind me with chains, not just by the neck, but by my fate, my soul. Do you know what I wanted? I wanted this…

Huseyin starts choking Tayyar. He bends him back over the desk. Tayyar breaks free. Huseyin grabs a letter opener and stabs Tayyar. He twists the opener in Tayyar’s side. I’m taking your life, he hisses, I’ve never lied to you. I told you what would happen if you touched my brother, didn’t I? Let me keep my word. Recite the Shahada. Recite it! Huseyin plunges the opener deeper. Then he lets Tayyar fall to the floor. Huseyin says, see you in hell. He leaves.

Back to Elmer. Elif says, as soon as you leave here, we should go on vacation. Just you and me. It can rain or shine in Istanbul without us. When I used to go on vacation, I wanted to see new places and explore. Now I just want to look into your eyes and be silent for hours, for days. Remember when you told me, that with me, “everywhere is Rome, signorina”? Just be by my side. That’s enough, the rest doesn’t matter.

The nurse comes in and says time is up. Elif asks for more time, but the nurse says the doctor will get angry. She can get permission again later. Elif leans close to Omer and says, I love you, komiser. Hoşçakal. She kisses his cheek. She leaves.

Huseyin wipes blood off his hands and leaves the house. He tells the henchies that Tayyar does not want to be disturbed. He takes back his gun and goes.

Pinar asks a henchie for Tayyar. The man says he had a guest, but he left. He must be in the study. Pinar walks by the study. She hears heavy breathing sounds and opens the door to finds Tayyar bleeding on the floor. She closes the door. What will she do? Leave him to die or get help?

#68 part 5

Back to the hospital. They wait for Elif to come back with news on Omer. Fatma comments to Hatice, do you see? That spoiled girl went inside and doesn’t tell us anything. He has a mother. She’s completely taken control of Omer. Nothing will come between them.

Elif returns and everyone asks about Omer. It’s still the same, she says, but the doctor has hope, I think. Fatma puts on a show. She begins to wail, oh my God, these deaths won’t stop. Hasn't the dark earth had enough? You wanted young lives… Elif speaks up, Fatma Abla, Omer didn’t die, he’s still breathing. So stop mourning. We will get demoralized. Don’t upset us or yourself.

Fatma rises to her feet. Who are you to talk like this? Who are you? A demon? I’m not doing what you said. My heart and soul are burning. Of course, you rich people’s religion and faith is money. How would you know about sorrow, grief and sadness? All you’re doing is acting! Shut up, Elif fires back, or I’ll break your heart. Fatma stamps her feet and shouts, look at what she says! Hatice and Melike try to calm Fatma down.

Pinar decides to do the wrong thing and calls for help. Get an ambulance and the police. Tayyar mutters, no police. Call the manager of the hospital. Don’t do anything else. Pinar goes to make the call.

And we are out.

Thank you, Dondi! Memorable was Fatma stamping her feet, which made me laugh out loud. She is such a pill. And, I’m sure we all held our collective breath, hoping Pinar would leave Tayyar to die. But, we do still need a villain, so she called for help. It was nice when Omer opened his eyes.

Thanks for the recap Dondi!

I agree Pinar did the wrong thing!! I kept yelling 'let him bleed out!' but I understand how she would be torn. If she didn't help and one of the henchies found and saved him and Tayyar lived there would have been hell to pay!!! Oh the psychological horror of being Pinar!!!

I hate Fatma! Why is she even there? Doesn't she hate Omer? Go home, woman! Imagine creating a scene and picking on Elif in that moment! What a horrible woman! Makes me happy that I don't have to live life as a horrible unhappy person or in the presence of one. Characters like this are good reminders to let things go and to find joy and forgiveness in life.

Dondi - thanks for the reminder that Sami already suspected Pelin! He must trust Arda since he let him go with Nevin to the safe house, that's an interesting difference since Pelin and Arda are partners, close friends and Arda is in love with her. You'd think he'd trust them both or distrust them both, or at the very least keep Arda at arms length knowing Arda trusts Pelo, but....

OT Bahar

So it has moved to Sundays instead of Tuesday. Last week's episode was weird. I keep wondering if it's all going to be a dream. Rengin has an aggressive brain tumor. Haram is operating on her. Parla didn't take it well. Rengin wants Bahar to be her trustee if she dies as Parla went off the rails when Timur died.

Uras proposes to Maral, mostly to stick it to Seren as she got her kids back from the sleepover at Maral's place with the help of the police. I guess he figures if she's his wife he has a good chance of gaining joint or more custody.

The really weird part of the show is a white van pulls up to Parla outside the hospital and they take a gunshot victim out onto the sidewalk and tell her to hold this thing in his chest. I figured she was trying to keep the guy from bleeding out. Ends up it is undetonated ordinance in him and the bomb squad comes. Parla freaks out when they tell her don't let go, in the OR. Bahar takes her place holding the thing. Evren is in charge of operating on the guy and Bahar is there for support. In the beginning and the end of the episode a big explosion occurs in the OR. It looks like Rengin didn't make it through the operation as Haram is trying chest compressions to get her heart going again.

So the cliffhanger is did Bahar and Evren survive the blast and did Rengin survive the surgery. Dondi, are you the one still following it? This season has been a big disappointment so far but it's like a car wreck, I can't stop watching it in the hopes it goes back to its original style of drama and humor. Now it's just drama....

Thanks for the update, Kat. I finished the entire second Turkish season and the first 2 eps in the third. You were way ahead of me and started giving updates. At first, I was sorry we couldn’t stick to a schedule and keep a regular discussion. In the end, I didn’t like that they killed Timur and Tolga and I didn’t like where the story was heading, so I decided to stop watching.

If you want to continue to update us, that's great. I'd appreciate it. I'll probably tune in when the dizi makes its final episode.

Good luck with everything tomorrow.

KPA 69 part 1 of 4

Huseyin sits by an abandoned boat crying, listening to sad music and drinking. (I forgot to say yesterday how kick ass I think it was that he tried to kill Tayyar, I’m sure the man will live, but I was a fan of the attempt) He should have heard Elif’s lecture about not mourning Omer because he’s still alive.

The doctor has come to save Tayyar and of course he thinks Tayyar will live but it’s too soon to say for sure. Pinar tries not to look too disappointed. She goes in with the doctor to see him, I bet she’s wishing she had let him bleed out. Tayyar wakes up and guesses he beat death. The doc wants to call the police but Tayyar says absolutely not! Nothing happened here, you saw nothing. Call no one and keep your mouths shut! Not even Mert can know!

More crying and drinking and then Huseyin’s phone rings. It’s Tayyar!!! Calling to give Huseyin the good news that he beat death! Huseyin tells him to go to hell! Tayyar tells him not to be mad, now they are more united than ever… and don’t get me wrong, Tayyar is evil and bad and I hate him and all but it CRACKED ME UP that the first thing he did was call to taunt Huseyin!!!!

Ali yells at Arda and Pelo wanting to know why he wasn’t aware of what was going on. Our friends try to explain but there’s no real good way to say ‘we didn’t tell you because we know you’re a dirty cop and we didn’t want you to tell Tayyar’ so they don’t really have a good excuse. They just mumble something about things happening so fast and Sami calling the shots. Ali rants and raves and demands to know everything from here on out. He says Arda can get back to work, he needs to talk to Pelo – Arda asks to stay and Ali says it’s okay. Ali tells them both that Sami is accusing Pelo of being responsible of the day’s events. For a man being dead and Omer’s shooting. He’s accusing her of intentional negligence and being an accomplice of homicide. Ali tells her that for the good of the case she’s being suspended until the accusation is cleared up and that she is to go home and not come back to the station. Pelo looks floored and Arda is frozen solid.

Elif waits silently staring at the wall. Huseyin arrives and asks about news, she tells him there’s nothing. He’s brought coffee. Huseyin makes awkward conversation about being an older brother barely holding back the tears and then not holding back tears at all. He tells Elif she has sisters she knows how it is. Elif tries to convince Huseyin it wasn’t his fault; little does she know. Huseyin moves on to talking about how he didn’t think Elif would be a good choice for Omer but he was wrong, and then gives a speech about how hard it is to be a cop’s wife. These seem like really random subject changes but he’s probably drunk.

Arda is now ranting about how this is all Ali’s fault as he and Pelin head out of the station but Pelin can’t hear it. She has to escape. Arda tries to stop her, tries to reassure her that he’ll never leave her alone but she just needs to go! Just let me leave, she begs crying. Pelo runs off and Sami drives up. Arda confronts Sami and Sami tries to say it’s not the time but Arda is pissed. Arda says that Pelo is an honest cop who loves her job and Sami retorts that Arda should be careful who he trusts. Arda adds that Sami is also accusing Pelo of Omer’s shooting and Omer is Pelo’s best friend! Sami says he believes that Omer’s shooting was unintended by Pelo but not everything else. No one knew about the operation except two of Sami’s men and them, if Pelo wasn’t the informant, who was?? There’s an intense look between the men and I keep waiting for Arda to say Huseyin, but he DOESN’T!!! He just says he’ll find out and then Sami will regret suspecting Pelin!

KPA 69 part 2 of 4

Huseyin is sleeping and Elif is pacing. The doctor comes by and Elif asks for news, nothing is new they are still waiting for him to wake up and he still hasn’t. The doctor doesn’t appear to have much hope but Elif assures him that Omer is the most stubborn man EVER, he won’t let them down! The doctor shouldn’t lose hope because they won’t lose hope either. The doctor lets Elif enter the room thinking she’ll be good for Omer.

Arda and Sami are talking in the hall outside of the judge, waiting for Fatih’s hearing. Arda seemed to think they should let Fatih talk to his mom because he would convince him to talk but this makes little sense since Nevin herself refuses to talk. Fatih is called and he mouths off about being able to go see Omer in the hospital after the hearing since he figures he’ll be released since he didn’t talk because he was only going to talk to Omer. Fatih is called in and Sami says he has no hope for the hearing since they don’t have enough evidence there’s no way the judge will send this to trial. Arda says he does have hope – the shooting of Omer puts some weight on this and makes it clear that something is going on here. Sami hopes so, then at least the shooting won’t be for nothing.

Damn Tayyar is improving… but it appears something is wrong. They are waiting for some test results, and the doctor doesn’t want to tell Tayyar what is wrong until the results are in. Tayyar starts to insist but they are interrupted by a call from the hospital. A henchie comes in and tells Tayyar that Metin is being detained!!! He’s going to trial after all, the first trial is set for a month from now, and he didn’t say much during the trial just said he was innocent and had nothing to do anything. Tayyar says very good, he’s using his head. Tayyar’s doctor returns with the results and it’s not good. The ambulance is on the way; he needs a hospital NOW! Tayyar says nah, this is practically a hospital, I’m not going anywhere, tell me what’s going on. Doc says Tayyar has something wrong with his left kidney and it has to come out immediately. Tayyar thinks that’s okay because he has another one but apparently there’s something wrong with the right kidney too – something hereditary and they need to verify it at the hospital. (I think my Spanish gets a little dicey when it comes to medical terminology) Oh, Tayyar says so I have a kidney shortage…. Oh, the irony.

Elif is all gowned up and at Omer’s bedside and greets him and tells him to wake up. Everyone is waiting. Aren’t you embarrassed? You’ve slept enough! She looks back at the doctors and says don’t look at me like that; he’ll wake up! She turns back and begs him, telling him she loves him and asking who he’s going to fight with if he doesn’t wake. Don’t leave me, she cries. The doctors tell her she needs to leave but she begs for a few more mins. As her tears fall on his face, she places her forehead to his and begs God to send him back to her. Omer’s hand moves and squeezes hers!!! Elif jumps in surprises and moment later he is awake!!! Elif kisses him in relief!

Fatih is led to see a visitor, it’s his brother, Mert. Mert greets him as big brother and asks him how are you? Fatih wonders how Mert got in and he says he told him that he was his brother. Fatih says he’s happy that Mert believes him now and Mert tells Fatih that he’s been thinking a lot about things and he realized that his mother tried to tell him the truth. Fatih says that Mert’s mom was a good woman and he had no hard feelings toward her, may she rest in peace. Mert tells Fatih that he confronted his dad and rejected him and everything that came from him. Fatih says the enemy of my enemy is my friend and even more if he has my blood, so now I have a brother named Mert. He puts his hand up to the glass, Mert looks closely at Fatih not quite smiling, his eyes going to his hand, will he put his hand on his brother’s?

The doctor goes and tells those assembled in the waiting room that Omer is awake and will be fine. That’s all of Omer’s family, Elif and her sisters, Arda and Pelo, and the horrible Fatma and Hatice. Elif is overcome and just starts bawling – somehow even Fatma looks compassionate.

We don’t see if Mert put his hand on the glass but Fatih and Mert are still talking. Fatih is talking about what it felt like being the brother in the shadows and how he was jealous and he tried to hate him the way he hated Tayyar but now he thinks they could be good brothers. Just when it seems like everything is going A-okay, Mert suddenly looks PSYCHO!!! And declares that if Fatih had come to him five years ago and would have accepted him with open arms, they could have fought Tayyar together and been the best of brothers but now? Now, Fatih is his enemy because Nilufer is between them!!! Mert knows everything Fatih has done to Nilu and he lists the transgressions, Mert loves Nilu and he won’t let Fatih get away with it. Fatih warns if Mert touches Nilu, he’ll kill him, but Mert says Nilu will love him again one day. He’s closer to her now, he’s even living in her house. Don’t worry, he’s says, by the time you get out of here, you won’t be in her heart anymore! (Damn Mert!) Mert walks away while Fatih continues to scream out that he’ll kill him if he touches her.

3 days later

Omer is home already. That’s a quick recovery from death’s door. The family is hoovering and joking about Omer not behaving well in front of Elif. Omer is embarrassed. Fatma is still there – why??? And she’s making rude comments about how Elvan is better qualified to take care of Omer than Elif. Omer gives Melike a pointed look and Melike asks Fatma to please come make her famous tea to help Omer, Fatma agrees and they go to the kitchen leaving Elmer alone. Elif goes down by the table and starts emptying her shoulder bag of things she needs to take care of her love. She wants to feed him healthy foods including some sort of jam (I couldn’t catch what it was) which she has to convince him to eat but once she does it’s super cute.

Arda comes to see Pelo who is returning from a run she looks surprisingly upbeat considering what’s going on in her life. Her mood improves even more when she finds out Omer is at home and he’s not mad at her, he wants to see her. In fact, he wants to see them both, tonight! Arda gives Pelo a bag full of movies and books and says they are silly and they should write about what happens to them – they’d make millions!! Pelo says of course, especially me! There’s an awkward moment of silence and then Pelo says come in, let’s have some tea. I have sandwiches too. Arda says you haven’t called me for a week and now that I’m so busy you want to have tea? I waited months for this! So, come in, Pelo says. I’m taking your words as a promise, Arda says, I’ll come back when I can. Pelo agrees and Arda leans over and kisses her cheek. Pelo balks and says don’t do those things here, the neighbors. Arda laughs and kisses her again. Arda, she says. I’m in love with you, he says, what do you want me to do? He walks off and drives away while Pelo smiles and shakes her head.

Fatma is STILL hanging out and now bringing Omer tea. She leaves the room, and Omer wants Elif to throw the tea in the planter, but she refuses and tells him to drink it. He says it smells horrible. Elif says to drink it and if, Omer wants something else she’ll take care of it later. Omer does want something else. He wants Elif to tell Huseyin to stop telling people stories about his childhood that embarrass him. He wants her to tell his mom to take away the bedspread covering him to tell Melike to stop adding wood to the fire because it’s getting way too hot in here! Elif starts laughing. Omer finally starts drinking but he also wants Elif to rest a little – she’s been with him various days and she needs some sleep. Are you trying to get rid of me, Elif asks. That’s a bad joke, Omer says he always wants her with him but she’s tired and he’s worried about her. He says when he was unconscious in the hospital all he could hear was Elif’s voice. Hers and his father’s. Your father’s, Elif asks. Yes, Omer tells her that his father’s case went unsolved and whenever he can’t solve a case he thinks of his father.

The doorbell rings and there’s a call from the kitchen for Elif to answer the door. She gets up and goes to answer and finds Sami. As soon as Omer hears it’s Sami at the door, he shifts on the sofa and tries to sit up a little. Sami says Omer should be resting but Omer says look what I have in front of me gesturing to Elif. There’s an awkward silence as Omer, Sami and Elif all look at each other.

Nevin is having breakfast and Arda arrives to say hello! She’s not happy to see him, just like she wasn’t happy yesterday or the day before or the one before. She assures him she has nothing to say. Arda smiles and says that’s fine, she will talk one of these days and he’ll keep coming to see her until she does, but for now have a nice day!

Tayyar calls Huseyin and we have no real idea why since it ends up being Huseyin that does all the talking but what we do learn is Tayyar is still in bedridden at home. Huseyin has apparently been ignoring his calls, but he’s not worried about Tayyar, he says if he wants to come kill him then he can come on down he’s at his office. Oh, and by the by, Huseyin warns, I still have all the dirt and evidence on you. My men are stronger than your men and if you come after me, I will take you down! You’re scared and you know it, so keep your mouth shut.
