Papas #39. Part 1

Thirteen years ago we see Melina meeting Tino, both work at the casino. He tells her he has two great kids. She asks about the mother, he doesn’t want to go into that. She agrees as she doesn’t want him to lose his beautiful smile. She talks to,the audience about seducing people. Then we’re back to the present and the kiss. Tino comes to and asks what happened. She tells him he fainted and she stays right by his side. Aide leaves and calls Bill. She asks him to come get her.

Prisma asks
Clara Luz how she got Pipe so tranquil. She’ll tell them all together. She speaks to Prisma about the way Nazario treats her. Prisma defends him and doesn’t want her to speak of this again. Meanwhile Rudolf asks azario what he said when the detective interviewed him. Nazario tells him only good things. Rudolf looks discusted.

Cheno asks Yeni when she’s leaving. Sarena hits him gently. She says maybe a week or so. Sarena then asks Poncho how he is. Chofis says he’s stressed because of his exams.

Aide tells Bill Tino humiliated her. She went to the show to surprise him and she got the surprise. How will she face the two of them. Bill says he is there for her.

Melina tells Tino he was kissing her. He said she was kissing him but ends up believing her. He doesn’t want her to take it the wrong way. She says she’s sure it was the stress of the day. The band comes in to see how he is. Then he and Melina go home together. He wonders why Bill is there. She tells him about seeing the kiss. Melina thinks she’s making a big deal of nothing. Tino says they’ll talk when they’re alone.

Nazario accuses Clara Luz and Rudolf of giving Pipe medicine for them, not for Pipe. Clara Luz says he has a condition. He’s Pipe’s father too and he should have been consulted.

Chofis asks Checo if he can take some pictures for her after class. He’s happy too. I have no idea what Yeni, Cheno and
Chachito were saying.

Aide doesn’t want to listen to Tino. She knows what she saw and she wants him and Melina out of the house.

Paulina is talking with Emi. She says what a great guy Bill is. He says he loves Bill but Tino will always be his dad. She talks about the surgery in the US. He already went through it with Jason. Paulina says he’ll have her and Lila, he knows how to reach her, right. Just then Bill walks in with Aide.

Papas #39 part 2

Cheno is glad Chofis is getting along better with Sarena. Sarena says it’s more a mutual respect. But she’s working on the relationship.

Nazario is telling Clara Luz and Rudolf that they should have gotten a second opinion. Clara Luz says the doctor is an expert in this. Nazario is going to his room. He expects Prisma to come too. Clara Luz tells Rudolf to trust the doctor and the science.

Paulina greets Aide with two air kisses as she leaves. Aide talks to Emi alone, telling him what he did was wonderful and mature but the marriage is not going to work. They’re getting a divorce. Emi says she’ll always be his mother and he’ll be for her. Bill is around the corner listening to

Melina tells Tino she’s going to stay the night at a hotel. She invites him along..He wants to stay and talk to Aide. Melina points out that Bill seems very interested in Aide. Tino says, you noticed it too.

Melina is texting Uli as Cindy while in the hotel room. She’s thinking he won’t hear from her for a while because she has to concentrate on Aide and Tino.

Aide comes home and wonders why Tino is still there. He wants to work on the relationship, and not just throw it in the trash. She says after seeing him kissing Melina she could never go back to him. She’s already told Emi they’re getting the divorce. Tino,says there was noise and lights and he was confused. Aide says if it was reversed and she was kissing Bill he wouldn’t want to see her again. He says he’ll sleep in the guest room. She thinks Melina is there but he tells her she went to a hotel. She says this all started when Melina and her son moved in. When he leaves she cries.

Papas #39 part 3

Tino and Aide are telling the kids and grandparents they are getting divorced after all. The kids want to know what happened. They’re told to respect their decision. Iker wonders where his mom is. Tino,says she’ll be back.

Melina is texting Hernan. She wants to know everything that’s going on in the house. She then texts Mazario to call her. He calls, he’s upset because Rudolf is free and they ,may suspect him. She has someone else lined up but they have more important things to discuss.

Is it El Cacal that is reading the newspaper. He says the police suspect someone of stealing the necklace, I thought they said Gibron.

Gisela is telling Aide all men are cut from the same cloth after Aide tells her Tino and Melina were kissing. Gisela tells her it’s her own fault for letting that woman move in. Circe enters and wants to know what’s going on. Gisela tells
Ir e it’s for a vulgar reason. She leaves the room.

Hernan thinks Tino should fix things with Aide. Tino says they’re both too hurt and also he kissed Melina by accident. Hernan mentions Melina seems interested in him, more so than in the past. I think that’s what was said.

Circe thinks it’s bad that Tino kissed Melina but her mom isn’t guilt free. She spends all her time at the computer, not with her husband. Aide wonders if she thinks she’d rather work than be with her kids. Circe says yes. Then Aide says you couldn’t save your own marriage and you want to give me advice. Circe is upset, an understatement. Aide tries to apologize when Sarena comes in. She wonders if she should leave, Aide says no. She texts Poncho to see how is exams went. He says good. Then his friend comes up. He says he can solve his problems.

Paulina calls to Bill. She asks about Aide and Tino. He thinks they’re separating for good. She has someone she needs to tell because they’ll be happy to hear this news.

Melina shows a woman the necklace. The man with her examines it and says it’s authentic. They give Melina a suitcase full of money but she feels the need to count it.

Aide tells the four parents that Tino no longer has shares in the business, Señor Urbin bought them. Elina will not be welcome in the office. She leaves and Clara Luz follows.

Scarlet is talking to Emi and Iker about the divorce. Iker tries to comfort her. They decide it must be something very serious. Scarlet says promise that all the siblings will be together always, although Iker doesn’t know where he’ll be.

Gisela is yelling at Tino. He asks her not to insult him. He says he insulted her daughter and all of them. Melina walked in and she slapped her in the face. And continues yelling at her. Hernan comes into see what’s happening. Melina looks pretty pleased.

Clara Luz and Aide are talking. Aide asks about Rudolf and thanks lare Luz for listening. She says she always will, they’re friends.

Gisela continues yelling at Melina. Melina keeps saying she’s crazy. Then she says she’s going to take her commission and go far away.

Melina o es into work and tells them Senior Urbina will do the transfer in three days. She won’t see them again. Sarena is there and says they got along well, she wants to talk to her. Melina will wait outside. Outside, Paulina calls with the good news of the divorce. As she mentions Lila Lila appears, not looking happy to see her mother.

Gisela tells Hernan she was defending her daughter. He thinks they should go to her house in Monterey. She wants to stay here. She doesn’t like being alone. He says she’ll have him and she won’t be alone.

Circe is crying on the phone to Checo. He turns and sees a girl. They both say, you!

Nazario is putting pills in a weekly pill thing. It looks to me like he’s replacing the pills with others!

Hernan tells Tino ro return soon. Aide wonders what he waiting for. He wants to say goodbye to his kids. Circe comes down the steps with a suitcase, she’s going with him.

Melina played Tino like a fiddle, didn't she?? Still, I don't believe Tino is so dense he had no idea how Melina has felt about him. Also, he has all these children whom he purports to want to get close to yet he chooses to go on the road with a band at his age. Grow up man.

Aide has a definite cool side to her, she can be a bit prickly but she loves her children. I believe her work has always been important to her and has been a bone of contention between her and Circe. But Circe choosing to go with Tino was cold. Ice cold.

All of this up and down is hard for all the children...

Bill wasted no time in moving in on Aide did he? So what are his long term plans with Paulina?? Wait until she finds out what he is up to with Aide!

I can only assume Lila's appearance will mean even more drama.

MONTEVERDE #29, Part 1

From the annals of I never saw it coming…

Oscar lays Carolina down oh so gently on the bed. They kiss tenderly…Are you sure he asks; the answer is yes with a smile, followed by more besos…

Meanwhile, Eva is sitting up in bed, having a one-sided conversation with herself, fuming…

A change of venue as we go to the barn and see hay and candles (not a good combination) and sheet clad Angelina and Juan David, in definite afterglow. All of a sudden we hear noise! It is a gruesome wailing as if a wounded animal. But no, it’s crazy Trinidad ratting chains and making noises.

Gloria comes to Manuel’s where he and the father are enjoying a libation. All of a sudden, Angelina and Juan David run in, exclaiming about what just happened to them. Trinidad follows (what gaul) announcing Angelina is the amante of Juan David!

Oscar and Carolina are cuddled in bed, both radiantly happy as he turns out the light.

Gloria demands an explanation. Father Gabriel tries to step in but Gloria tries to shut him down. The Father persists, explaining the obvious, Angelina and Juan David are married and in love. Angelina puts on her big girl pants and talks up to her mother who acts highly offended and leaves saying she is returning to HER house as everyone gawks. Ack.

Carolina is up and dressed as she goes over to Oscar for a kiss. Oscar acknowledges her vocation and the situation is difficult (so it seems she did not tell him who she is). Uh oh, Moises is at the door, insisting to be let in. Carolina hides behind the bureau and Oscar manages to rush him out. Carolina grimaces closing the door behind her. Oscar takes Moises back to his room against the lad’s wishes. On her way out, Carolina knocks something over. Moises opens the curtains and sees Carolina leave!

Lucas is pouring coffee as an exhausted Franco comes in. How is she Lucas asks. Lucas has a strange expression on his face as Franco leave the room.

The women gossip: opinions run rampant; some utter that Juan David and Angelina are romantic and then some (Gloria) have sharp words about Gloria.

A glowing Carolina shows up at to greet her housemates…

MONTEVERDE #29, Part 2

Julieta is putting on her shoes as there is a knock on the door. It’s a rather grim looking Lucas. Why are you here Julieta asks, looking as though she wishes he weren’t. And now for the shock. I believe he asks her if she is sure the baby is Franco’s. She tells him to be quiet. I had to pause to pick my jaw off the floor because it seemed clear to me that Lucas and Julieta slept together!

Juanita hears about Carolina’s near discovery by Moises (lad never misses a trick as we well know). She is so happy for Carolina! Andres comes in as Juanita smiles and closes the door.

"Good morning mother" Angelina says, Juan David in tow. She tells her she is married; she had no bad intentions. Gloria still manages to be offended. Juan David tells her this is his tio’s house! Gloria gets teary playing on her daughter’s emotions. Angelina and Juan David grasp hands and leave a bit defiantly.

“Good morning” Lucas greets Lucia. He acknowledges the difficult situation. She asks him to calm down, she has confidence in him. She loves him.

Lucas visits the good padre. He tells him a shocking story. We see in flashback that Julieta comes on to Lucas and starts to kiss him. He responds and they are quickly in each other’s arms. There is little doubt as to what occurred next. I’m not sure on the timing, I gather it was after Lucia left (is that right?). Also, where were Lucas and Rosalia in their relationship I wonder. I didn’t understand what the father told him to do.

Julieta pretends to be feeling weak as Franco puts her into his car. She gives a defiant look and then smirks at Rosalia and Lucia standing outside, taking all of this in, carrying Lucia’s baked goods.

Hugo and Juanita flirt a bit and he kisses her cheek (lucky lady).

Juan David and Angelina wheel out a suitcase as Gloris whines. Leave she says wiping her tears. Angelina starts to weaken but Juan David leads her out.

“I’m nervous” Julieta admits at the clinic. Thank you for coming she tells Franco. He gets up to accompany her to see the doctor but she says she wants to go alone. He isn’t happy but agrees to this glaring red flag…

Nestor is giving the men instructions when Oscar comes up in a jovial mood. He asks everyone about their families, lastly greeting Lucas. Oscar is a virtual ray of sunshine as even Nestor smiles. He is so content he says and he looks it!

Moises and Andres talk as the good padre eavesdrops. He tells Andres that Sister Celeste was with his father! Andres gets angry and Father Gabriel reveals his presence by saying Que???

The women talk about love as a happy Gloria swoons about her kiss. Juan David and Angelina arrive and everyone (except Trinidad) welcomes them.

MONTEVERDE #29, Part 3

Moises says Celeste spent the night at his house! The father is apoplectic. Moises and Andres stare angrily at each other. On cue, a beaming Carolina comes striding down the path, a huge smile on her face until the father asks if she spent the night at Oscar’s. Yes, she admits, she did. An angry Andres comes up and asks to see “Sister Celeste”.

Carlos and his sidekick are sitting at a table as Hugo gets a coffee. He recognizes Carlos from the picture right away.

I wasn’t clear about Julieta’s conversation with the doctor. He tells Julieta she is four months pregnant (I think) and gives her some medication. Does she tell Franco her fainting is “normal?” Franco wants to talk to the doctor but she stops him. She wants to stay calm for the baby.

Hunky Hugo listens as Carlos and his inept copilot talk about where they are going next. Yup, it’s Monteverde. Hugo gets up and leaves.

Eva is at Manuel’s as Lucas comes in, talking about Oscar. Then he says something about Julieta that makes Eva suspicious. She asks if there is a possibility Franco isn’t the father (I think).

In the classroom of two, Andres is sullen. Is it true that you stayed at Oscar’s he asked his mother. “What” she says feigning surprise. He says Moises told him. When Moises returns she says something about staying at Oscar’s that I couldn’t translate.

Hugo talks to the man at a check point, holding Carlos’ picture…

Oscar goes outside and sees the beautiful roses; he decides to cut a lovely yellow one and take it with him.

Julieta and Franco went shopping and wandered into a children’s clothing store. Julieta is enthused about the tiny garments, rubbing her stomach. She pulls out a onesie and Franco uncomfortably tries to smile.

Carlos and company pull up to the booth and the man Hugo had spoken with asks where they are going. Monteverde is the answer.

Oscar arrives at school. Moises gets in the truck as an upset Andres walks away. Oscar takes off his hat and smiling, hands Carolina the rose just as Andres pulls out a slingshot and lobs an object hitting Oscar right in the face. Carolina looks shocked as Oscar turns and stares as the lad defiantly returns his gaze…

So I suspected something about Julieta’s pregnancy was off but never, ever did I imagine she slept with Lucas! Another clever and unexpected plot twist.

MONTEVERDE Extras parte 1

Eva wonders how she could be jealous of a nun!

The good father tells Gloria that Angelina and Juan David are married and they need to be alone. A marriage consists of two people not three. Angelina says they want to enjoy their love alone.

Oscar tells Carolina that he understands that she is a religious but wants her to know that he will wait her her no matter how long it takes. She says it isn't a matter of time, she wants to tell him . . . Moisés comes knocking.

Oscar tells Moisés to stay in his room and he will make hotcakes for him to eat in bed. Moisés thinks that is weird because he has ever allowed him to have breakfast in bed before. After they hear the crash of what Carolina knocked over, Moisés tells his father to go get his gun. Oscar tells Moisés to stay put and leaves to investigate and get his gun. Moisés sees Carolina leaving.

Franco tells Lucas that he wants to see Lucía before he takes Julieta to the doctor. He doesn't want her to feel excluded. Franco isn't sure how to handle all of this. Lucas tells him to have faith and that it will all work out.

We will see later kin a flashback that Julieta and Franco had sex once it seems when she first arrived. She refuses to address the pregnancy issue with him and insists that the baby is Franco's and not his. There never was anything between them. Keeping true to her pregnancy act, she orders him to leave so she doesn't get upset!

Carolina tells Juanita that one thing led to another and she never had the chance to tell Oscar that she wasn't Celeste.

When Juan David and Angelina tell Gloria they are going to live in THEIR house and that she has to go, she plays the martyr saying that she came to town only to accompany her daughter and that she has nowhere to go. Juan David says if she isn't going, then he and his wife are moving out.

Franco invites Lucía along on the trip with Julieta to Zacatillo so she doesn't feel like he is leaving her out. She says there is no need and that she trusts him.
It is Julieta she doesn't trust. She says he can go peacefully because she is grateful that he took her into account.
 

MONTEVERDE Extras parte 2

The good father tells Lucas that if he wants to be freed from guilt, he has to tell the truth and face the consequences of his actions. The good father continues reminding him that neither Franco or Rosalía deserve to be in this situation. Lucas doesn't know if he will be able to. The good father says it is the best thing for him to do.

After watching Julieta's act of getting in the truck, Rosalía says she makes her blood boil!

Oscar is in such a good mood that he has ordered a barbecue lunch for all of the workers on his ranch. He is sending Lucas to get a carton of beer from Manuel. When asked why he is giving them a barbecue, Oscar says because he is happy due to the fact that the ranch is doing very well financially. He knows that is due to all of work that they do. So, they have to celebrate!! Néstor suspects that he is happy due to something else and asks if he can tell him. Oscar's mood turns dark and says no, he can't! Realizing how he came across, Oscar tries to lighten the mood by laughing and saying he'll see him later.

Doris has to admit that she didn't have much interest in Cárcamo before he gave her that kiss and now she cannot think of anything else. Juan David wants Angelina to stay with him at the inn if it was okay with all of he women., The only one to oppose it is Trinidad but the other women overrule her.

The good priest asks Carollna if she spent the night with Oscar. He tells her that Moisés saw her leaving Oscar's house and he told her son. As she starts to lie, he tells her not to waste her energy inventing some answer. She admits she was at Oscar's house but it was to use his phone and not to do what he is thinking. . She didn't want Oscar to know she had been there, The good father tells her not to lie to him. He will find out the truth sooner of rlater and it will only be worse.

The gynecologist tells Julieta that her pregnancy is doing well and it isn't at any risk. Her fainting was caused by low blood sugar. He doesn't think it will happen again but she need to eat breakfast and her other meals. She can lead a normal life until four weeks before her delivery date. Yes, it is okay for her to travel to Perú. He gives her pills for nausea if she needs them.

Julieta tells Franco a different story. The doctor said her fainting was not normal. She has to be under observation and avoid any kind of exertion or stress. She cannot have caffeine and very spicy foods. It also isn't good for her to travel. If she is to carry her baby to term, she needs to be careful. They both agree that she needs to stay in Monteverde for the good of the baby. He can be there for both of them.

Lucas comes in to pick up two cartons of beer for the barbecue. Lucas asks Eva how can you can find out who the father of a baby is. Eva tells him it is very easy with a DNA test. He then asks if it can be done right away or if you have to wait until it is born. She wonders why he is so interested. He answers saying he only wanted to know. She asks if he wants to know because Julieta might not be expecting Franco's baby. The beer is ready to go and Lucas leaves with it.

Carolina tells her son that she didn't sleep at Oscar's but she did go over to make a call to his aunt Celeste about the lawyer. It turns out that Moisés told him that his father locked the door to his room and that adults do that when they are sleeping with somebody. She makes it clear she has no idea who Oscar was sleeping with but it wasn't her. Carolina nexts explains to Moisés that she was at his house to make a phone call and didn't want his godfather to know. She asks him to keep her secret. Moisés agrees to not say anything.
 

MONTEVERDE parte 3

Hugo visits his friend at the toll booth and shows him the photo of Carlos. He asks him to find a way to not allow him to go through. His friend says he only collects money and cannot stop anyone from going through. Hugo explains the man is a conman. What he could do to the humble people of Monteverde if they fell into his criminal clutches!. HIs friend looks at the photo and says he will see what he can do. When Carlos arrives at the toll booth, Hugo's friend recognizes him asks him where he is headed. Carlos says to Monteverde.
 

MONTEVERDE

Thank you, Diana. Yes, Lucas as the possible father of Julieta's baby is something I never expected. They sure keep us guessing in this novela! I was so happy that Angelina is finally growing a backbone and that Juan David has taken her to live with him at the inn. Who knows if living alone may force Gloria into Manuel's arms.

Jarifa, thank you for your always important and essential translations and razor sharp observations. Everything always comes clearly into focus after reading your sizzling summaries.

"After watching Julieta's act of getting in the truck, Rosalía says she makes her blood boil!" Uh oh. I kept thinking how incensed Rosalia is because of what Julieta has done to her friend. If Lucas is the father (which seems to be exactly right), can you imagine Rosalia's fury???

Julieta lied through her teeth to keep her comfortably ensconsed at Franco's.

"Lucas asks Eva how can you can find out who the father of a baby is". Not exactly subtle as Eva is already now suspicious. And now Father Gabriel knows as well.

"It turns out that Moisés told him that his father locked the door to his room and that adults do that when they are sleeping with somebody". You can fool some of the people some of the time but can't fool Moises ANY of the time. :)

Andres is loaded for bear and looks set to derail Carolina's relationship immediately! I also worry for Padre Gabriel and hope the dear man's BP is under control.

At least Hugo knows Carlos is hot on the trail and could be landing in Monteverde any moment! I wonder what the guard will do to try and keep him out.

Thanks for asking about my recovery, Diana. It’s going well. I was very blessed to have minor effects from this. My friends say I sound the same but I don’t think I do. I feel like I’m talking around my tongue! So the speech person has me reading out loud twice a day so it will come more naturally.
Thanks for your comments. I feel that Aide saw him fall, why didn’t she rush over? But Melina sure convinced Tino that he kissed her. Meanwhile she’s cheating him out of his shares. How will she twist that in her favor. And Paulina stands to lose Bill to Aide! I imagine the money from Jason will go with whoever has Emi. I’m wondering if Hernan will ever see any of the necklace money!
I’m sorry I don’t always understand things. Especially from the family of C’s. I never understood that family in the original Papas!
I’m really worried about what Nazario was doing with the pills. And surely Melina is going to get her pound of flesh from Nazario for her “covering up his murder”.

Diana, yes, this keeps getting better everyday and it was pretty good to begin with. Loved your comment about Moisés. Very unexpected twist with maybe Lucas being the father of Julieta’s baby. If/When Rosalía finds out about that, I cannot imagine her reaction. Julieta and the baby store scene was so revolting. Yuck! Not revolting: the sling shot attack! Wow! Andrés is no fool either. Carolina needs to get her act together and level with Oscar ALREADY! I wonder how the toll collector will prevent Carlos continuing to Monteverde. Can’t wait for tonight!

Liz, it sounds as though you are making good progress! I'm happy to hear it. Reading out loud sounds like a great plan.

Looking at Melina practically vacuuming up Tino's tonsils, it seemed obvious she was doing the kissing! Yes, Aide did see him fall and should have rushed the stage, I know I would have. Was Tino so out of it he couldn't have held up his arm and/or told Melina to stop??

Paulina will be livid when she sees Bill has fallen for Aide! I also see her and Melina having a fall out, and as bad as Melina is, I wouldn't discount Paulina who has been evil and crafty all along.

"I imagine the money from Jason will go with whoever has Emi. I’m wondering if Hernan will ever see any of the necklace money!". I agree - yes with the first and no to the second. I hope Hernan ends up broke and out on the street.

I always tend to overthink/overanalyze...Now I'm wondering if Lucas being the potential father is a red herring to divert us and that Franco really IS the father. Well, I can't wait to find out what the writers have in store for us.

I fear the window for Carolina's confession to Oscar is already closing. As we are still relatively in the early stages, I'm sure there will be many misunderstandings, admissions, confessions and apologies yet to come!

Yes, it's so refreshing to see two young actors doing amazing jobs with their parts. Smart kids and very lifelike.

I'm trying to catch up. (On 7 now). Trying not to read ahead. I did see that Diana is wishing Liz a speedy recovery and wondered what I missed. Hopefully by next week I'll be caught up.

Liz, that was a great recap of all the crazy chaos .
Tino is so clueless in this second season . I would have pushed Melina right off that stage , but then again I wouldn't want such an oblivious husband . Oh gee, Melina, I thought that you put that lip lock on me When I passed out , but if you say so , I must have kissed you...while I was unconscious .Did anybody be think of taking him to the hospital to find out why be passed out.? That would have been my main concern .
Are these the same writers as the first season ? The plotlines seem less believable .
Serena seems to be most stable character in this fractured tale. I'm sure it will all be sorted out in the end .

The actress playing Paulina is better at bringing the seductive and greedy evil than the first season actress .

OT...Liz,It sounds like you are making good progress and have good support . Reading outloud is a great idea . Susan

Three years earlier Lila is looking sad. Circe tells her to confide in her, they’re sisters. Lila doesn’t feel like they’re sisters. She doesn’t fit in with the family. Circe suggests she leave then.

Now Lila is facing Paulina. Paulina asks forgiveness and wonders how she’s living as she doesn’t have a job. Lila thinks it’s none of her business. Paulina asks if she doesn’t want to know about Emi.

Circe wants to go with her dad. Aide says does she really want to or is it because they fought. Gisela starts putting in her two cents but Hernan leads her away. Rice really wants to go so Aide tells her to go.

Checo runs into the girl from when he was taking pictures outside. She challenges him to come with her and use his journalistic and photography skills. Jodi’s comes along and wonders why they’re arguing. They both are surprised she knows them both. Edith is her teacher.

Paulina is talking about Emi. Lila wonders why she cares about him. She repeats that she’s sorry. She wants Lila to,visit Emi. Lila says if she decides to she’ll find him on social media. She also tells her Emi is with his biological father.

Tino and
Circe will go to a hotel. Aide says his money from his shares will be in soon. He says use them for the bills.

Melina is thinking of her conversation with Aide when Uli calls. Cindy tells him they’ll meet at a later date.

Clara Luz looks at Prisma’s computer and tells Rudolf she did all the work for Bill’s cafeterias. When she comes in they mention it and she denies it. Nazario comes waltzing in and. Rudolf asks him whymPrisma is doing his work. He glares at Prisma.

Griselda is telling Aide how it’s her fault Circe left. Aide says she’s the last person to give her parenting advice.

Prisma says she’s only helped Nazario a little. When they ask if she’s sure Nazario thinks they’re accusing her of lying. He makes remarks to Rudolf about his temper and just getting out of jail. He mentions the kids working with Gibron and Rudolf says the kids aren’t a marketing job. Clara Luz breaks them up.

Chofis is looking at the photos Checo took when Edith comes in. She looks at them and says, not bad. Chofis suggests she use Checo for her investigations.
She might.

Circe asks Tino how he could have kissed Melina. He explains what happened. She wonders how it happened with all the love he has for Aide and the kids. He says he was very stupidly.

Gisela is arguing with Aide about Aide losing Circe. Aide feels that’s what Gisela did to her. When they receive the money Aide will pay her debt and Gisela needs to leave. She doubts even the kids will miss her.

Papas #40 part 3

Tino came to say goodbye to his kids. Hernan lectures him and tells him he destroyed his family.

Paulina tells ill she got along well with Lila but has a big favor to ask him and it concerns Lila.

Hernan is still lecturing Tino on him breaking up his family. He tells aide to advise him if she or the kids need anything. He goes to drive Melina and Íker. Scarlet is upset. Now she’s lost two dads. He tells her Facundo loves her and so does he. He’ll be there for her.

Melina thinks Hernan was very intense with Tino. He needs to stay close to Aide and be his eyes and ears.

Prisma is taking the kids to school. Rosario calls. Apparently the fire at Nazario’s house was deliberately set, they suspect Nazario’s. Rudolf is ready to fight him. Clara Luz calms him.

Sarena is texting Poncho, wondering why he’s been so mysterious. He says he’s stressed about his exams. His friend comes along and wonders how they should tell everyone. Poncho doesn’t seem interested.

Aide is sorry she was so hard on Gisela. Gisela will be going to a hotel. Aide says she doesn’t have to hurry off. Gisela tells her she didn’t tell her the truth. She’s a great mom, much better than she ever was.

Tino is all dressed up. He’s off to look for a job. He tells iher she can always talk to him. When she leaves he looks at pictures on his phone.

Nazario o es in wondering if they ‘re millionaires because they’re not working. Rudolf calls him a lier and says Gibron was going to tell him something about Nazario the night he was killed. Clara Luz has to restrain him again.

The transfer went through. Aide is exstatic until Elina comes in with papers making her the acting partner for her friend. She has as much power as Aide and they’ll be working together every day.

"Circe wants to go with her dad. Aide says does she really want to or is it because they fought". I vote for the latter; Circe is still very immature and has a lot of growing up to do. I loathe she didn't stand by her mother. I also thought Scarlet was quite accusatory. Only Uli has always seemed to be on Aide's side (at least from what I remember).

I can't quite get into the Clara Luz/Rudolf/Nazario storyline. Naturally, I hope everything get cleared up and the children are all right but this is my least favorite plotline.

MONTEVERDE #30, Part 1

After Andres’ slingshot assault, Oscar says “oww” as Andres and Moises get into it!

As Carlos is tied up at the gate, Hugo comes driving up. He comes up with some story which actually causes Carlos and his henchie to drive off.

Julieta and Hugo’s never-ending shopping expedition continues as she puts her arm through his; he does not exactly look thrilled.

Juan David and Angelina get frisky.

Gloria ugly cries as Manuel comes in and tries to cheer her up. She gets overly dramatic (as always) and mewls. He holds out his arms and she goes into them as he envelops her with a hug. He rubs her hair, soothing her.

Moises and Oscar go home; Moises has the offending slingshot in his hand. Moises has had it with his former BFF! Oscar has to smile.

Juanita and Franco go to a café, she wants flan. He wants to get back but she is doing everything she can to delay him.

Carolina orders Andres to open his door and asks him why he did what he did to Oscar. He asks her – are you in love with Oscar Leon? She repeats the question but too eagle eyed for his own good Andres doesn’t want to talk and tells her to leave, he want to be alone. She agrees but says their conversation isn’t over.

The good padre climbs the gate (without the finesse and grace of Carolina) to call Sister Celeste. An agitated Father Gabriel tells the Sister Carolina was with Oscar last night and that Moises knows! Celeste says Moises has a vivid imagination and may be making things up (I think). He begs her to come back but she can’t. Esta bien he says frustrated.

After they finally leave the café, Juanita pretends to be sick and as Hugo goes off to get her something she laughs to herself.

Lucas, fresh from the shower, lets Rosalia in. She seems surprised Franco and Julieta aren’t back. A quick fast conversation occurred. All I could glean is that I think Rosalia feels bad for all Lucia has had to put up with. A guilty Lucas gets agitated but I can’t translate what he said.

Franco comes back as Julieta lays it on with the fake nausea…You aren’t alone he tells her. Gracias she says, making more pained facial expressions.

Lucas comes out after he finishes dressing but Rosalia has left. He calls himself an imbecile.

Father Gabriel and Carolina talk as Juanita runs in; Andres is missing!

MONTEVERDE #30, Part 2

Nestor comes into the clinic to see Rosalia sitting, staring in silence. He asks if she is OK and she says yes. She starts talking a mile a minute about Lucas. He sort of chuckles and smiles but seems to be trying to be supportive.

Father Gabriel starts asking people if they’ve seen Andres. Juanita and Carolina have not had any luck either as the three meet up. Carolina explains Andres had words with Moises. Andres is walking along the highway when thankfully, hero Hugo sees him and turns the car around. “Andres” he yells as he runs toward him. I’m going to Zacatillo Andres affirms. Alone? Hugo tells him running away won’t solve his problems. He puts his hand on the lad’s shoulder and walks him back to the car.

Hugo and Julieta are back in her room. She apologizes for all the problems she’s causing. Franco calls Oscar who asks if Julieta is all right.

“He didn’t come back” Carolina reports as Father Gabriel urges calm. Hugo arrives with Andres and a relieved Carolina goes to her son. She tells him how worried she was when he grabs his bag and runs inside. He is all right the good father tells her and takes his leave. Hugo then has to relate that he saw Carlos and another man…Carolina is profusely grateful. Juanita kisses Hugo chastely on the cheek as he smiles and puts his hand there as if he never wants to wash his cheek again! 😊

After manipulating Franco all day, Julieta has a self-satisfied smirk as she lounges back in her bed.

Carolina has to remind Andres he is a child although he protests otherwise. She tells him things are complicated. He asks if she is in love with Oscar, yes or no. She says it’s difficult and then finally seems to say, “a little”. She takes his hand and is overcome with emotion as she tells him he is the most important person in her life. She cries as he comes over and holds her. You are the most wonderful mother in the world. I love you he says.

“Why are you here” an annoyed Oscar asks Eva. She says she is worried about Franco. He chastises her for what she did abandoning Franco (guess his forgiveness was short lived). Then he drops the bombshell (in a way meant to hurt her) that he is in love with another woman. She correctly guesses Sister Celeste and leaves, face mirroring her hurt.

Things aren’t all right Lucia rages at Rosalia. Beside herself as to where Franco is, she grabs her purse as Rosalia follows her.

Moises and Oscar are having a man to man (or one- and one-half man) talk. I couldn’t understand what he said but Moises was adorable.

Lucia calls Franco but Julieta answers. I called Franco’s phone, put him on Lucia angrily demands. Julieta lies and says she and Franco are at a hotel! Julieta promptly hangs up on her.

Julieta does something with Franco’s phone. Franco sits down on the bed next to Julieta as she turns the TV on.

Ahh, it’s a mariachi band with Cárcamo singing! The women squeal and Doris comes out, smiling and clapping. Did you like it he asks? Yes she replies. He removes his hat and gets down on one knee. Doris raises him up by his ears and kisses him. Is that a yes he asks. Yes! They kiss some more.

Franco looks at his watch and gets up. Julieta asks him not to leave her alone. Por favor! Esta bien he says reluctantly. He sits on the bed again, fully dressed and clearly tired.

Lucia and Rosalia arrive home and Lucia is beside herself. Rosalia suggests tequila, Lucia says she needs to rest.

MONTEVERDE #30, Part 3

Oscar goes to his room and looks at the bed reliving the precious moments from the previous night. Elsewhere, Carolina removes the yellow rose pressed into the pages of a book and inhales the scent, smiling sweetly and longingly.

Franco wakes up the next morning and is finally able to escape Julieta’s clutches. For the moment.

Doris and Cárcamo go to visit the father with the joyous news they are getting married. The father is thrilled.

The next morning, the boys arrive for school but do not speak, giving each other dirty looks. Oscar and Carolina greet each other with huge smiles. He gives her a note which I hope you will be able to translate Jarifa.

Andres calls out to a departing Oscar who turns around. He apologizes and Oscar accepts. The young man wears a very serious expression as he asks “what are your intentions toward Sister Celeste” …

I think there were 13 different scenes before the first commercial break. The dialogue was fast and fleeting and for the most part was far too over my head. I apologize for all that I missed and likely got wrong.

Thanks for your comments, Diana. I would have to say the family of Cheno is my least favorite, but partly because I don’t understand half of what they’re saying. I like Sarena and Choco the best of that group.

Nazario is just strange. The way he enters and leaves rooms is comical. But I think things will pick up in that storyline, not only because of the fire but because of Gibron saying he killed his father. And someone we don’t know is aware of that.

I was so wrong on the purchase of the shares, or actions that they called it. I thought Tino would get cheated out of the money. The man that bought them was getting paid by Melina. But apparently he or Melina, bought them with her money from the necklace. And then, for a price, turned them over to her. So that must have been her plan all along. She does evil well.

Liz, I loathe Nazario but the actor who plays him is great; I've seen him before in several things. I believe Prisma is afraid of him and I detest the way he orders her around and treats her. She is the (and only) brains in their operation.

Melina does do evil well! Poor Aide. She is never going to be able to work with her every day! Talk about stress and Aide is prone to heart issues.

Serena has added an interesting dimension to Chano's family. I like her too! I miss much of their dialogue too but feel they are a caring, bonded family who truly care about each other.

MONTEVERDE Extras parte 1

As Carlos tells the toll collector to just charge him already, Hugo comes running up to inform them that they cannot get through to Monteverde. The authorities have to be informed. There is a huge sinkhole in the road. There is no way to get around it. The toll collector talks about the damage done to the road when the river overflowed and it is the only road that goes to Monteverde. The toll collector is going to report it right away but who knows how long it will take to get fixed. The detective and Carlos decide they have to go back to Zacatillo.

After shopping, Franco tells Julieta they have to get back to Monteverde because he has to go to work. She says no. She is hungry and needs to eat since she is pregnant and eating for two. She chooses a restaurant specializing in cochinito pibil (pork cooked in the pibil style) She says they can eat quickly and be on their way . . .

Angelina is upset that they have been run out of their own home because of her mother. Juan David is happy they are together wherever that is. He is also proud of her standing up to her mother defending them and their love because he knows how hard that is. They agree that they each are the most important people to each other.

Manuel sees the fact that Angelina has moved out as a good thing. She is finally independent and now Gloria has no excuse for not moving in with him.
That is the last thing on her mind when her dar daughter who she has sacrificed so much for has ended up with a don Nobody! He tries to explain that Angelina is now a married woman. Gloria blows up thinking he is taking Angelina's side against her! He changes his tune and consoles her.

Julieta wants the baby to be a boy so that he looks like Franco and is as handsome as he is.

Andrés starts out telling his mother that he doesn't like the way Oscar looks at her or the way that she looks at him which is the same. They weren't even talking yesterday but now they seem like novios. It isn't what Moisés has told him but what he has seen with his own eyes!

Rosalía is surprised that Julieta and Franco are not back yet. Medical appointments do not take that long. She is sure that Julieta is using that trip to the doctor to take advantage of Franco. Lucas asks her if they were in the same situation as Lucía and Franco, would she support him as Lucía is doing. Rosalía answers "Of course not!" She explains that would not be possible anyway because when Julieta arrived, Franco was alone while they (she and Lucas) were together. If that baby were to turn out to be his it would mean that he had cheated on her and that she would not forgive him. He starts defending himself saying that when Julieta arrived, they were not novios yet. She was doing her "free love " thing and even more, then they were on the outs. She even went out for dinner with Joaquín. So, technically he would not have cheated on her. She sees that as being very convenient and advantageous for himself. She says it is one thing that they were not novios and another that they were on the outs. She wonders why they are talking about his anyway since it doesn't really have anything to do with anything. She feels sorry for Lucía having to put up with that Julieta. Thinking about her makes her feel nauseous because she is so unbearable, insufferable. She has never known such a hateful person. She makes a point of ignoring Julieta's "shows." She seems to have no problem having a kid here or there . . . Lucas refuses to hear any more!! He gets it! She asks why he is so angry. He is sick of the topic. It the only thing people are talking about in town and now she is, too, like a cockatoo!!! He decides to go and get dressed. Rosalía is clearly insulted having been called a "cockatoo" and wonders what is wrong with him.
 

MONTEVERDE Extras parte 2

Franco returns with something for Julieta's nausea from the pharmacy. Julieta is too sick to make the trip back and decides she should spend the night is Zacatillo. Franco will not let her stay on her own. She says she doesn't want to be a burden to him. That is why she wanted to go back to Perú. Franco says they can leave early in the morning so he can get to work.

Rosalía asks Néstor if he would be offended if somebody called him a cockatoo. He laughs. She says she was talking to Lucas and he told her to stop because she was being a cockatoo. She knows that sometimes her mouth gets going and she cannot stop it but he didn't have to insult her. He tells her to lighten up. Sometimes, men are dumb, stupid and say things that they shouldn't. Rosalía is concerned that maybe Lucas doesn't love her after the way that he treated her. Her father doubts that. He doesn't think Lucas has anything against her.

Franco calls Oscar about staying over night in Zacatillo and asks him to let Lucía know. (Dummy should have called Lucía himself)

Andrés is tired of his mother lying to him all of the time. He may be a kid but he can still tell what is going on. After they talk, Andrés is grateful for her telling him the truth. That is all he ever wanted.

Eva goes to Oscar's with a bottle of wine hoping to repeat their trip down memory lane. He can see what she is up to and is not pleased given her track record.

Lucía gets the message that Franco not coming back to Monteverde that night.She is beyond angry and doesn't want to hear Rosalía make all kind of excuses for him and telling her not to be mad. Rosalía says she is not going to justify what Franco has done but wants Lucía to calm down. (This time) Lucía's blood is boiling and she is stuck in a town where there isn't even a cellphone signal so she can call him. A "message saying he will explain everything tomorrow" isn't doing it. Rosalía suggests they go to Oscar's house and call him.

Moisés asks his father if his head hurts where the stone that Andrés launched hit him. Oscar says no, it was nothing. Moisés doesn't understand why he got so angry when he told him he saw the nun leaving their house. Moisés explains what he said to him about the nun sleeping at their home. Oscar says he had it all wrong. Moisés says now he knows because the nun had to use the phone but wanted to . . . stay hidden from him (Oscar). Oscar gets it but adds that he has to learn not to tell everyone about what goes on in their house.

Julieta asks Lucía if she didn't get the message that Franco sent her. . . Julieta then deletes the record of Lucía's phone call from Franco's phone.

Julieta wants Franco to stay with her until she falls asleep since he feels so alone. She only has him . . .

The good priest asks Doris if the fact that she has accepted the proposal means that she will be staying in town. Smiling she answers that if Cárcamo behave himself, she will be in Monteverde for the rest of her life!. Cárcamo ahs promised to make her the happiest woman on the face of the earth. Cárcamo wants to get married ASAP. Doris looks surpised at first but then smiles. The priest goes off to check his schedule.

The "secret message" says: We will see each other at 6:00 pm where we kissed each other for the first time."
 

MONTEVERDE

Jarifa, thank you for your exceptional recap. Things are coming to a climax I fear and there is going to be much and very painful fallout.

I'm up to 21 but I have some beanie moments to comment on as I'm catching up. First, Lucia making a living baking one cake a day for the restaurant!!! I guess the lodging is free because of project genesis.

The school is being renovated after closing for 15 years. Franco was 4 when Eva left, and 20 years is what I recall for the length of time she's been gone. Where did all the young studs go to school if they were 9 or 10 when it closed?

Whoever commented that Hugo is the cutest, I agree. He's also one of the better prospects as he's the grandson of Manuel. Manuel must have started young, being his son would be more fitting.also, why in the world doesn't he get a satellite dish in town on his restaurant/ hotel? The town has electricity, are small town in Mexico without landlines?

Back to my binging. I much prefer Africa in this role to the evil witch in Papas 1. Her high pitched voice is toned down thankful.

Kat, yes, Monteverde is full of goofy beanie moments but that’s part of its charm for me. Lots of things don’t make sense and aren’t going to. For me, it has been a welcome departure from all drama all the time. I wasn’t sure about the cast at first since I was not familiar with so many of the actors but am really enjoying them now. I had seen Africa Zavala only in a leading role once before in another dramedy “Amores con trampa.” She really does comedy well. The plot has also taken some unexpected turns. Creativity on the part of the writers is always appreciated.

Great to see you back on the patio. : )

No novelas for me tonight. My beloved Chicago Bears are playing the Green Bay Packers!

I'm sort of chair bound after my hip replacement Monday, though I did make it to mass this afternoon. Can't wait till the swelling goes down. My feet are freezing and they want me to ice the hip! Now I'm wishing I'd had this done in the summer, lol. The lift recliner is my bed since it's more comfortable than a bed. My dogs hang out with me all day and night and my moving around each hour coincides with let the dogs out, let the dogs in!

Anyway, wishing you a quick recovery after your hip replacement! Those lift recliners have become so useful for so many with all kinds of conditions. Your dogs are giving you opportunities for physical therapy? Sounds like quite an accomplishment making it out to mass.

Kat, I loved reading about the older homes you’ve had. Those homes have actual personalities! What an adventurous life you lead! You are in SC, and am I right that your the kids are in NC? Is it hilly there? When you drive back and forth, do you have good roads?

I’m sorry you need to use cold packs when it is cold! Your recliner sounds like the best place for you now.

Africa is such a talented actress. I hated that they stuck her in evil roles. I am thoroughly enjoying her in this one. She and Oscar make a great couple. There’s lots left in this tale, so anything may happen!

Great to see you and hope the pain and swelling lessen soon.

I'm all caught up. This is a very entertaining show. On the Julieta front since she was doing it with both the guys as soon as she came to town, I bet she could have already been pregnant before she got there. So best case scenario is neither Franco nor Lucas are the father.
