I'm busy doing a kpa summary for tomorrow right now. I am doing things tomorrow, but I could do a very short one later in the day. Lots of important staff happened in this episode. Let me know if you want me to do this.

I wrote a long summary of tonight and stupidly switched Google pages before I was quite done. Arrgh! (Cómo se dice "aargh" en español?)

Sadakat told Cihan that Boran's father was Ecmel, as someone here guessed. Ecmel abandoned her to marry someone else, not knowing she was pregnant. Ecmel's brother came along and married her, knowing she was pregnant. - This is Sadakat's version. Wonder what Ecmel's version is? Sadakat is a known manipulator.

Sadakat tried to have Ecmel killed in the hospital, but Cihan's men got it stopped just in time.

Zeynep turns out to he pregnant from her lover back in her village. Alya examined her and found out. Spanish version doesn't say why Umma got Alya to examine her. Perhaps she was spotting or miscarried.

Cohan is of course upset about the news of Boran's parentage, and Ecmel's treatment of Sadakat. Sahin comes to the konak, upset that there was an attempt on Ecmel's life. Cihan waves a gun in his face, upset. Cihan says he repents of saving Ecmel's life. Everyone save Sada is shocked. Nare grabs a gun and waves it in Sada's face. End scene.

Thanks so much, Anastasia. I'm sorry you lost the longer version, but you certainly got the gist. I appreciate your getting us started.

I knew Ecmel wasn't going to be bumped off. The writers want more of his evil snarls.

There was also a smug grin on Demir's face, something about a shipment. If anyone understood this better, let me know!

So Sadakat wormed the location of where Cihan planned to have Zeynep live and, IIRC, told her awful family about it. I wonder if some things were cut. Alya seemed quite willing to go along with a religious ceremony between Cihan and Zeynep (to save her life). I suppose Alya thinks she's leaving with Deniz anyway, so why not have him marry Zeynep. Is this going to be a family tradition, the first born Albora is not really his father's son?

Alya put Deniz's passport in a safe in her room. But I'm getting the feeling that she's possibly having second thoughts. She and Cihan are getting along well, and Cihan made the boy the happiest kid in Turkey with his birthday party and his pony.

Oops, I meant also to say that I hated to see the breach between Cihan and Sahin. Sahin is, I suppose, out for revenge.

Novelera, Babachita, Anastacia: I missed last night's episode due to watching "HILOS". Anything crazy happened?
 

Lo siento, Steve - I am not watching Casillas. I generally don't watch the narco shows, altho they would help my Spanish slang vocab. I assume Telemundo will have a resumen online by Sunday? Generally at 8 pm Central, my husband has the tv remote. Tonight I will miss most of Lejos due to a Christmas concert.

At the top of Thursday's Spanish episode, while still at the horse ranch (çiftlik?), Cihan took Alya for a horseback ride. C had A sit behind him and hold on to his waist. They galloped out into the beautiful countryside, and both enjoyed the ride. They stopped and dismounted and C asked A about Boran's ring. Alya said she is angry with Boran and done with him. He is just the father of her child. C said "Don't get angry with Boran, get angry with me". (Assuming C was helping A preserve her good memories of Boran.) They had a tiff and the three (incl horse) started walking back to the horse pen, instead of riding back. (The producers forgot it was a couple miles away since they probably had a horse trailer right there.) Earlier at the çiftlik, Nare asked C if he was falling in love with Alya. She is the second person to have noticed this. (Someone else, I forget who, wondered that aloud also this week.) Anyway, it was a nice encounter between Cihan and Alya furthering their budding romance.

Thank you very much for the quick recap, Anastasia. ITA with you on getting Sada’s version but we don’t know Ecmel’s. There’s got to be more to this.

novelera, there’s nothing more to understand in that brief Demir phone call. His men are shipping merch and are arriving in Mardin by morning. That’s it, no other explanation. I suppose we will find out more in the next episode. BTW, this was out of order. I had to skim through several minutes of the next episode to get to it.

I feel so sorry for Sahin. He’s caught between his crappy family and his love for Nare.

Sada had a lot of nerve attacking Zeynep. She was unwed and pregnant at 17, too.

There was nothing else edited out of the episode we saw.

Anastasia – thank you for putting up recap for us!

That was some horse ride! Alya on the back behind the saddle? It’s not a motorcycle! There’s nowhere to put your feet, and a horse is very wide back there so you can’t grip with your thighs.
A gallop is a very bad idea. They must’ve super-glued the Alya stunt person to the Cihan stunt person.

A major advance for Cihan. Instead of telling a woman to stop talking, he actually said “I don’t want to talk about it.” You’re getting there, Cihan!

A lot of revelations! I get the feeling that here marrying a servant is okay. In the Spanish-language TNs it’s such a major issue that the whole plot revolves around it.

Sadakat obviously loved Ecmel-spawn Boran and wants to keep Deniz, so I guess that’s a point in her favor. Maybe. She’s pretty awful.

I noticed the merchandise came in legally past the border and was being transported on the highway. What happens next? What is it that makes it illegal to transport across Albora land?

I've been thinking about Sadakat's plans to have Cihan marry Zeynep. I guess I just thought that in Mardin you didn't always obey the law about polygamy. But now I'm wondering if Sadakat insisting on a religious ceremony was to sidestep the law. I believe, but am not positive, that the civil ceremony we've seen where there's an officiant and both parties sign a red book that they take with them was the legal one in Turkey and perhaps the required one. So, in Sadakat's mind Allah would bless the religious one that would give Azem's line an heir, but it wouldn't be illegal?

Maggie, good point about the gallop. I also wondered about Alya, a city woman, not being firmly in the saddle. In a way it also reminded me of Hercai. Reyyan, the protagonist, galloped on her horse to escape the oppressive atmosphere in her home, and that's how she met Miran, who almost ran her over with his car.

dondi, yes, Sadakat thinks her bad youth deserves sympathy, but it doesn't extend to Zeynep. However, I did wonder if perhaps her telling Cihan why she fears Ecmel taking Deniz could be a turning point. Is it possible they'll do an Azize (Hercai) and soften up Sadakat going forward?

Oh, I meant to say that I spoke briefly with our Turkish American cycling instructor at the Y about this dizi. His name is Ahmet, and he's a jewel! I have spoken to him other times about how Telemundo runs dubbed versions. I said, in English of course, that the dizi was taking place where things aren't so open and liberal as they seem to be in Istanbul. He was quite familiar with the different moral values where this dizi takes place. I mentioned Mardin, but I pronounced it Mardeen. He corrected me to the short "i" pronunciation. I assume he's right?
