Bad, Bad, Telemundo for cutting Ferit crawling over Seyran. That was a half-minute of menacing hotness. You gotta wonder what would have happened if Ferit dared to start kissing her.

“Interesting. I am assuming you watched the Turkish”. You wrote: "Did you really think I could be with a woman who doesn't want to be with me?". Whenever we watch a dizi, I check back to the original, especially when I think something is off. IIRC, I brought this up earlier. The Turkish verb “to want” is istemek. I think it gets confused in translation with the Spanish “querer” that has the dual meaning of want and love. Ferit used a form of istemek. Love hasn’t entered the Seyfer equation yet. Seyran has used the word hate a few times. I think Seyran inherited her father’s temper, look at the way she berates and hits Ferit.

Ferit hasn’t really made a love declaration to Pelin either. He’s sort of given her a “love ya” kind of statement or he says “kisses”. The kind of things you might say to friends or family. Like he told Abi at the nightclub.

I’m not so surprised at Kazim wanting a ride from Ferit. He wants to keep Ferit close. Ferit is the future of the Korhan family. I’m also not surprised he got “salty” with Ferit. Kazim’s got a chip on his shoulder about his status. He’s covetous. Desperate to be considered an ağa.

Perhaps Huseyin from Antep wouldn’t be so bad. But not everyone is as obvious as Kazim. He probably wants a babysitter for his kid and a sweet young thing in his bed.

Hattuc is a victim of her upbringing. Fully indoctrinated into the culture.

Ep #24 part 1
March 23, 2026

I am confused about the scene near the beginning of the episode in which Azufrero gives Graciela the deed back to her own family's house? I didn't have time to re-watch online. Maybe Azu removed a mortgage lien he had. Azu tells Gracie that he gave the tequilera to the Russians to pay debt. She sputters because it was her family's tequilera. Azu says she shouldn't be in business. She should be home in the kitchen, barefoot and pregnant. Gracie is astounded at Azu's attitude.

Cruz is having a gubernatorial campaign event at the old folks' home. He is upset at son Cesar because Nacho isn't there. Nacho is at the club instead getting buzzed. He is also being filmed in his drunken state by Pablo, the barowner's henchman. There is a police raid at the club, but owner Zahie(?) uses her connections to get the police gone before they find the DA's son Nacho conked out in the back room.

At the Cruz campaign event Carlos the p.r. guy tells the reporter he knows things about Cruz (from his relationship with Leonor). Now the reporter will be hounding Carlos to tell him some secrets. Guillermina interrupts the event and accuses Cruz of corruption and assassination. Just another crazy lady, says Cruz.

Ep#24 part 2

Eugenio faints in the prison kitchen. He is quite sick and can't breathe. He is moved to sick bay. Dante had gotten his paid doctor to give Eugenio bad drugs to lure Antonia to appear.

Adela tells Antonia and Anta decides she must leave the hideout she's at with Lobo and Renata to go see her father. (I smell a trap. ) Renata has a long touching goodbye with Renata. Antonia says she'll be back.

Antonia arrives at the prison infirmary. They are waiting for the doctor to come (and I hope it's va different doctor). Dante sees that Antonia has returned. He doesn't believe that Antonia was kidnapped.

#26 part 1

Rewind: Kazim gets a frantic call from Hattuc. Suna is missing. Come home quick! Seyfer know Suna’s absence has been discovered.

Kazim doesn’t let on what’s happening. He tells Ferit to slow down and let him out. What is it, Ferit asks. Kazim says that Hattuc isn’t feeling well. Ferit offers to take him back. Kazim insists on letting him out at the taxi stand ahead. Seyran hops in front with Ferit and they drive away.

Seyran is anxious and asks, he didn’t realize, did he? Ferit is delighted and says, Of course not. He even tried to hide it from us. He puts his hand up for a high five. Congratulate me! She’s worried. It’s like everything is over but it isn’t. Ferit says the hardest part is over, nothing happened. Now we just look ahead! Go with the flow!

What does that mean, Seyran asks. Don’t you have a plan? That’s life, Ferit replies, we don’t know what will happen two minutes from now. He laughs. You’ll be the death of me, Seyro complains, how can you be so relaxed about this? You should relax too, Ferit says, there’s no problem. I can’t relax, she answers, I need to see my sister. She must be so scared. Where is she? Ferit’s smile fades. I’ll tell you but don’t get angry. Remember, we need people we can trust. Seyran demands, where is she?

We see where Suna is. Abidin brings her to Pelin’s apartment. Suna is stunned. She asks, is this a joke? Abi explains, this is the safest place we can hide you for a few hours. She hesitates to enter. Pelin tells her to consider this women’s solidarity. Abi says that Seyran and Ferit will be there soon. Suna starts to take off her slippers to enter. Pelo says to keep them on.

Seyran laughs, what do you mean she’s with Pelin? You’re saying this just to bother me, aren’t you? I’m not kidding, Ferit replies, we had to hide her somewhere. I couldn’t think of anywhere else. Seyro thinks he could have put her in a café or the park. Why did you send her to Pelin? What café, what park, he says. What will your father do when he realizes your sister didn’t go to the store? He’d look at us and call the cops. I think this is the safest place.

I’m not going to her house, Seyran declares. Don’t be ridiculous, Ferit answers, she’s already there. There’s nothing we can do but go. Seyro sharply exhales. Ferit says, dear wife, I promise it’s just until nighttime. Wait until everything calms down. We’ll all come back with Abidin. We’ll take your sister to our room, it’ll be fine. Trust me.

Seyran is incredulous. This is your big plan? Hiding Suna in our room? Ferit explains, they can guess she’s anywhere but what’s the one place they’d never think of? Our room! It’s a master plan, just like in the movies! She rolls her eyes, yeah, it’s a real genius plan. I’ll tell you this, you can’t take my sister up the ladder to the terrace. She’s afraid of heights. She can’t do it. I’m sorry, she can’t! Ferit says, she has to. She can’t go through the front door. I’m just warning you, Seyro replies.

Suna and Abi sit in the living room and there is an awkward silence. Abidin looks so nervous. Suna is shy. He’s looking at her reflection in the window or a mirror. She takes a peek at him when she thinks he’s not looking. Pelo comes with the coffee. Pelo surveys the situation. She tells Suna to let her know if she needs anything. Ferit told me you are a special guest and treat you well.

#26 part 2

Suna asks Abi, what does she know about me? He says she knows it’s a family problem, that’s all. Pelo says she doesn’t need any details. She turns to Suna, you’re uncomfortable now and I understand. But even if women are enemies, we should support each other when we can. We understand each other one way or another. She jokes, don’t worry, then we can pick up where we left off.

Seyfer have arrived at Pelin’s. Seyran is curt with the greeting—where is my sister? Suna comes right away. They hug. Pelin tells them they can talk in the room on the left. It’s a bedroom and Seyran realizes that this is where Ferit and Pelo get down to business. Suna doesn’t understand Seyro’s discomfort. Neyse…

Suna thinks there’s still time to back out and return home. Seyran tries to bolster her spirit. You’re strong. I know you’re scared, but we are with you. And they know you’re gone. We were with Dad when they called. Suna worries about Esme. Don’t worry, Seyran says, she knows you’re okay, then she’ll be okay. Everything will be okay. [I think Seyro is saying this for herself as much as for her sis.]

And of course, Esme is not okay. She is a sobbing wreck on the floor. Kazim has terrorized her and beaten her. He shouts, how could you not know she went through the front door? Hattuc slams her hand down and fires back at him, enough! Stop yelling! Hit me if you want!

Zahide calls. Hattuc asks, what do I tell her? Kazim thinks. Tell her that the girl is giving us problems. Give us time to sort it out. Kazim can’t tell them she ran away, it would be total humiliation.

Ferit gets word from his mom that gramps isn’t coming to dinner. So what do we do, Seyran asks, my sister said she’s not climbing up to the terrace. Suna says it’s not possible, she’d faint. Ferit tries to convince her. He cites Pelin as an example. She’s climbed up many times. Pelo says it’s easier going up than down. [no help.] Suna refuses to do it. Ferit gives in, they will have to find another way. Ferit changes the subject—he’s hungry. Pelo will order out.

Abi takes Ferit aside. He wants to leave. Ferit points to the 3 ladies and says, will you leave me here alone? (Seyran spots a framed photo of Ferit and Pelo and it bothers her.) Ferit continues, two crazy girls in the same house? If they start fighting and the other one leaves, it will be a problem. Ferit talks him into staying.

Ferit and Abi return to the others and Ferit plops himself down between Seyran and Pelo. He’s feeling pretty good. He exclaims, I think we should go out and celebrate after dinner! What do you think? It’s a great idea. No one else thinks so. Then he says it was only a joke.

Seyran and Suna are huddled on the couch. Abi is suffering in silence on a chair and Ferit and Pelo are joking around at the dining table. [in the Turkish] Suna says, look at her playing the cheerful wife. Seyran answers, of course, she specifically sent us to that room so I could see their bed.

Suna asks Seyro, am I seriously going to spend the night here? Seyro says it’s either this or the ladder. Suna wonders how her mom is. She wants Seyro to call. Seyro doesn’t think it’s a good idea. Don’t think about it.

Food has arrived. Pelo goes to the door. Ferit goes over to the sisters and scolds them for being rude since Pelo’s been trying so hard to be a good host. At least come to the table. Seyro snipes, one day I will remind you of this. Have I said something wrong, Ferit wonders. He looks to Abi for support. No help from him. Ferit continues, you are being bad guests, you’re embarrassing me.

#26 part 3

Pelo ordered sushi. And she notes she has forks for those who don’t know how to use chopsticks. Ferit wants a fork. Seyro says, not hungry. Abi says you know what I’ll say. Ferit has a fit of laughter—let’s give Abi the chopsticks!

Esme is taking Kazim’s blood pressure. Esme asks him if he wants some ayran. Kazim explodes, your daughter runs away and you’re talking about drinks instead of crying! He throws the bp cuff at her. Hattuc’s got a stress headache. She tells Kazim that Esme is not at fault. Kazim growls, look at that idiot’s face… she knows everything. She is the devil. Get out of my sight!

Hattuc suggests they call the police. No cops, Kazim answers, she’s probably hiding somewhere. I’m sure she’ll be back and if she does, I’ll make her pay! Hattuc suggests calling Seyran. Kazim says they don’t know anything. They were with me when you called. If I call, everyone will know and we will be disgraced. Kazim shouts, do you want me to get a megaphone and shout from the balcony, the girl ran away?!

Everyone is at the dinner table. Pelin recalls the time Ferit came home between semesters. It had been snowing and she couldn’t climb up to the terrace. Ferit laughs, how could I forget. He says, Grandpa was like gunpowder in those days. We almost got caught. Pelin continues, those two (Ferit and Abi) wanted me to disguise myself. Abi says, thank goodness the cleaning staff was there. There were lots of people coming in and out and she snuck in without getting caught. Ferit complements Abi, saying he was like a secret agent back then.

Pelin notes that it was a pleasure coming in through the door for once. Seyran snarks, if you want, you can come and have tea with me. We already officially met at dinner. Pelo says, let’s say you get Suna in the mansion somehow. What will you do then? Live in the same room?

Ferit says don’t think about the future. Let’s live in the present. Pelo asks, will you three sleep in the same bed? Seyran rolls her eyes. Suna almost chokes on her food. Ferit tells Pelo that’s enough. We will take turns. No need, Seyro speaks up, you take the bed and we will sleep on the couch and chairs. Pelo asks, wow did you have a fight and are not sleeping together?

An idea comes to Ferit. He does a happy dance. Our problems are over! I have a plan! Suna will go through the door like Pelo. Seyran chuckles, how? As what? No disguise, Ferit replies, I’ve found something else. Seyro wonders what it could be. There are so many people in the yali. Ferit says, if she’s covered, no one will see her.

Ferit asks Abi, remember that movie we were talking about the other day? Mavi Boncuk! Abi replies, don’t tell me you’re going to wrap her up in a carpet. Ferit states, of course we are! Pelo laughs. Seyro thinks it’s crazy. Suna asks if he’s joking. Tomorrow you will all know if I’m serious, Ferit answers.
Pelo thinks it’s great. She wishes she could be there to see it. Seyro quips, maybe you can come in that way next time. Ferit tells her to calm down. Just enjoy this and join our plan. Don’t change the subject.

Seyran is steamed. I won’t ask if you’re crazy because now, I know you are! What kind of plan is that, wrapping her in a carpet! You messed it up because we couldn’t go through the terrace, Ferit replies, so she’ll have to go in through the door. No one else seems enthused. Ferit thinks it’s the perfect plan. Zero risk. Seyro tries to get Abi to side with her. Abi responds, what can I say? Ferit says that’s right. What can he say to me? He trusts me, unlike you. Seyran exhales.

#26 part 4

Ferit looks at his watch. It’s late. Seyran looks at her sister. Suna says not to worry about her. Ferit asks Pelo if she’s got PJs for Suna. Yes, she answers, I put them in her room. Ferit is giddy. What a great team! An incredible quintet! Look at us! We should get together all the time! Seyro snarks, well Pelin is always on our terrace. Now my sister will live in our room, and we can take Abi in, too. Pelo answers back, I see Seyran has gotten used to this.

It gets quiet. Ferit channels Halis. He bangs on the table—you scoundrels! You poisoned the food! Then he tells Abi, let’s clear the table. It’s time to go. Pelo says to leave it for her. No, Ferit replies and he looks at Seyro, let me be a good example to others. Suna apologizes to Seyran for putting her in this position. Seyran says she would do anything for her as long as she’s safe. She admits that Pelo’s place is the safest right now.

Seyran worries on the ride home. Don’t worry, Ferit says. Pelin can be crazy, but she’s a good girl. She handles difficult moments well. Your sister will be very comfortable in her house. Ferit, you are sick, she says, okay, we are saving my sister, thank you very much. But you are sick. He’s smiling. I have that effect on women, I can’t deny it.

Seyran sighs. Ferit after what you did last night, you act like nothing happened. And you want me to act like nothing happened. But even so, I can’t forget what happened last night. I can’t.

Ferit deflates a bit, Seyran… that’s enough… okay? Don’t start again. I didn’t expect you to put on the nightie, I swear. But you were anxious, he smirks, you snatched it and ran to the bathroom. He starts laughing. I didn’t know you were such a special case. And you are a special case, too, she replies, smiling. For the first time, I agree with you.

Halis is dictating to Latif. The greatest flame inside you bursts… from the spark of things left undone. Now it looks fine… but it’s late. I wish I could go back and take the hand of those I left waiting, thinking, “one day, I will.” Halis struggles to continue, this… was the first poem I wrote for her. Latif looks up from his writing. Halis laments, the past won’t come back like a song. He cries. And he tells Latif he can go.

Seyfer arrive at the yali. Yusuf is making the rounds and sees. He hides until they go to the house and then he sneaks around the side and gets the ladder.
Seyfer enter the house. It’s dark. Seyro texts Abidin to let Suna know they came home. She tells Ferit no one is here, Suna could have come. Not so… Latif greets them. Everyone is in their rooms and he’s doing the final rounds. Seyran goes to get water and Ferit heads upstairs.

Yusuf is out on the terrace, and he sees Ferit head for the bathroom. Ferit starts the shower. Seyran enters and hears a knock at the terrace door. She thinks it’s Pelin. What a shock when she sees Yusuf. Are you crazy! How did you get here? I got here like everyone else, he replies. She swats him. Do you know what will happen if Ferit sees? Go!

Yusuf says Ferit is taking a shower. I need to see you. Seyran wonders what is so important. He tells her his friend from Antep called. They heard Suna was getting married. Seyro says it isn’t true… get out! You’ll get us in trouble.

Ferit can’t get the bathroom speaker to work. He calls out to Seyran. She pushes Yusuf away—hide! Ferit is about to exit the bathroom, when the speaker starts playing music. He tells Seyran to forget it.

Seyran goes outside. She shouts at Yusuf to leave. He tells her to calm down. She warns, don’t dare approach me again! He reminds her he didn’t take this job for money. He did it so they could be close. She’s frantic. I won’t leave this yali without you, he tells her. She grabs him by the lapels and gives him a good shake. I’ll kill you I swear! Go! He finally leaves.

Pelo brings bedding for Abidin. Before she goes off to bed she asks, will anything happen? He doesn’t understand. I don’t know, she says, a nighttime raid? They are from Antep. Should I be afraid? I’m here, he says, nothing will happen. He asks her if Suna is asleep yet. No. She motions to the kitchen.

Abidin goes to the kitchen. Suna is drinking water. He tells her he’s going to make coffee. Do you want one? No, she replies, I don’t want to be a bother. Not a bother, he answers, but if you’re going to sleep… I don’t think I can sleep tonight, she responds. Then I’ll make it, he says.

Suna thanks Abi. You’re welcome, he answers, this should help. Today was a difficult day, especially for you. I didn’t mean it just for the coffee, she says, thank you for everything you’ve done for me. Don’t mention it, he replies, anyone would have done the same. Suna disagrees—they wouldn’t. Or they wouldn’t be as understanding. You deserve the most understanding, he says, being forced to marry. She notes, Dad also forced Seyran, but she couldn’t run like I did.

Abi tells her she was running from certain unhappiness. You shouldn’t be hard on yourself. Suna wonders, can anyone be happy at the cost of their family? Abi says, people have two families, one they are born to, and one we create ourselves. We do not have a choice with the first one, but we get to choose the other. I’m sure when you get married and start a family, you’ll be happy with them, not despite them.

Seyfer is dressed for breakfast. Seyran is on her phone. I guess she’s calling Hattuc. No answer. And what would you say to them, Ferit asks. I’d ask if they are in Antep, how my sister is, she replies. I don’t know if the battery is low or if she turned off the phone. Ferit thinks it’s better they didn’t answer. It means they don’t suspect us.

She wants to call Suna. He thinks Pelo will still be asleep, so he decides to call Abidin. Seyro makes a face and mocks, “Pelin’s asleep”. Ferit smiles and makes the call.

Abi is returning from the store when he gets the call. He passes the phone to Suna. Suna tells her sister she’s fine, no worries. See you later. Abi bought simit. He tells Suna to eat it while it’s warm. She thinks it would be rude not to wait for Pelin. He says they will be like wood before she wakes up. I’ll make some tea. They both reach for the çaydanlık at the same time and their hands touch. They are embarrassed. She says she’ll make the tea.

Seyfer put part 2 of the plan into effect. They come downstairs early for breakfast. Ferit tells his parents that Seyran doesn’t like the rugs in their room. She wants to go shopping for new ones. Of course, Orhan replies. He’s ready to call a designer in to replace everything.

Ferit says that’s too much. Just little changes, right karıcım? He gives her a little pinch on the arm. Yes, yes, Seyro answers. Orhan thinks it’s nice she’s taking interest in the room. You don’t have to ask permission for that, he says.

Ferit (the opportunist) takes advantage of the situation and grabs Seyro’s hand, intertwining their fingers. He calls her “my dear wife”. You know Seyro’s ticked, but she keeps smiling for the cause. Gulgun gushes, mashallah. Mashallah, Ferit chimes in with a big grin, I love her so much.

Suna has breakfast ready. Abi calls out to Pelin, breakfast is ready. I’m sleeping, she answers, go ahead. Suna has a place set for Abi next to hers. He moves to the seat across from her. She says, you must be used to waking up early. He says it’s an occupational habit. I didn’t sleep much in the army. And you?

Suna replies, when we were in Antep, we woke up early to make breakfast. I can’t remember ever sleeping in like Pelin. Abi asks, no one worked at your mansion? No, she says, we did everything ourselves. My father didn’t like strangers in the house. Abi notes well from now on, you can sleep as long as you want, like Pelin. Pelin gets up and listens in.

It doesn't seem possible, Suna answers. That’s life, Abi says, man does not know where and when something will happen. [I think something is happening between them.]

And we are out.

 

OT

Still no internet, so I cannot watch a streaming dizi. My satellite dish still gives me television, so I can probably watch Lobo, but one-finger typing on my phone does NOT encourage detailed comments. I have AT&T fiber to the home. Only 3 outages in 5 years.

 

Technology - it's great until it doesn't work! Hope you have a stack of books to be read. Good luck with the technicians.

Ep #25 part 1
March 24, 2026

Antonia is at the infirmary with her father Eugenio. Dante shows up and is upset with Antonia because he was trying to find her. She gives evasive answers about escaping from being kidnapped by Lobo. Dante remembers that Sr. Cuevas told him that Anta wasn't kidnapped. He wants to haul her into the Fiscalia to give a statement, but he can't, because he doesn't work there anymore.

Dante wants to try to get back to the Fiscalia job to go after Libo. Dante needs Cruz to be in debt to him for saving his life, so Cruz will pit him back in the Fiscalia. Dante starts planning something. Cruz tells someone else he can't have Dante back at the Fiscalia because of the photo with Dante and Azufrero together.

Cruz and Azufrero have a powwow. Azu tells Cruz the Graciela is Azu's woman. Later, the Cruz family is concerned that Nacho has disappeared (he spent the night passed out at the club). Pablo, Zahie's henchman, posts the vide publicly showing Nacho dancing drunkenly at the club. Léonor and her p.r. boy toy Carlos sees the video. Heck every one, including Cruz, sees the video. Cruz says out loud in front of his younger son Cesar that his older son Nacho is his priority.

 

Lobo
Ep#25, part 2

Lobo finds himself being commanded by Renata to sew up a rip in Tato's arm. Ren asks Lobo to teach her to fight. Lobo agrees to teach her some self-defense. Lobo and Antonia talk on the phone. IIRC Lobo says that as long as Antonia is out in the world she should denounce him as a kidnapper to keep Dante and Cruz from suspecting that she is now his accomplice. (I guess telling the truth about Lobo being tasked with caring for Renata would make for a much shorter telenovela. In any case, Cruz and Dante have reasons to believe Lobo is an enemy.) Cruz plans to have Antonia give a statement to the press that she is free of Lobo. This would seem to show that there has been progress made in the case, making Cruz look good.

Guillermina is talking to the psychiatrist at the old folks' home. She says out loud that Eugenio had something to do with his wife Carmen's death. Antonia, coming to visit Guille, overhears this.

Someone at the infirmary decides to have the drugs in Eugenio's system tested. The lab calls Adela back. ( Adela temporary family contact for Eugenio , and his lawyer.) The lab says that Eugenio's prescribed medications were altered, and he was given something that was toxic to the lungs.

End of episode.

In addition to my inability to catch up on golden due to no internet, my baseball team, the San Francisco Giants, plays it's season opener tonight on, get this, Netflix. Boy am I frustrated! A woman at my dental office saw my Giants t-shirt and commiserated. She suggested I go to a bar, but tonight is my Pilates class.

“The Perfect Hiding Place”

Gulgun welcomes Ferit and Seyran to breakfast. Ferit shares with her that Seyran wants a new rug and that they will shop for one. Orhan reminds them they can call a designer to change their attic room, but Ferit says just little changes and teases Seyran. She agrees. Ferit takes her hand to hold, saying how charming she is. They grin as they are presenting this planned happy picture.

At Pelin’s, Abidin and Suna are having breakfast. Pelin isn’t interested in joining them. Abidin was going to sit next to Suna and quickly thinks better of it and sits across instead, switching the plates. Suna moves his tea also. She comments that he must be used to waking up early. He mentions that he didn’t sleep much in the army. He asks her about waking early, and she mentions that they awoke early in Antep to prepare breakfast. It was that way since childhood. She doesn’t remember ever sleeping in like Pelin. Abidin is surprised and asks if they had employees. Suna tells him no, they did it all. Her father didn’t like strangers in the house. Abidin tells her she can sleep as much as she likes now. They are definitely making a connection, and Pelin watches them a bit before joining them. Pelin comments that everything smells delicious. While Suna goes to get some for Pelin, Pelin asks Abidin if he likes Suna. Abidin looks at her, straight face, and asks what she is talking about. Pelin tells him she knows these things and that it’s a dangerous path. He needs to be careful. Abidin again: I don’t know what you think you saw, but it’s nothing like that.
Abidin gets a message and asks Suna if she will be ready to go after breakfast because Ferit and Seyran will be leaving soon.

At the Sanli home, Kazim is looking the worse for wear, complaining of a headache. Hattuc tells him it’s impossible for Suna to have disappeared into thin air.
Kazim: I couldn’t call the police or the in-laws, with the shame I feel. I’m stuck between a rock and a hard place. Look at the problem we’re in. That dam girl got us into this.
Esme is watching this from the far end of the table.
Hattuc: I don’t know what to do or who to ask for help. I can’t even turn on my phone from shame.
Kazim: I called everyone I could, including Biran Rali.
Hattuc seems upset that he called this person. He tells her he had him check to see if she’s registered at any hospital or police station.
Kazim: So, she’s fine. Do you feel better? She’s not dead. It looks like she’ll die at my hands.
Hattuc: Don’t say that Kazim.
Kazim: Remember my words. I swear I won’t let her come back. I know that’s what she wants, and I bought her ticket. There is no way back.
He tells himself to calm down. [This is humorous to watch and must be even better in Antep Turkish.]
Kazim, continues talking to himself: I’ll call the in-laws and sound them out. He picks up his phone. He thinks about Seyran and speaks threateningly about her if she had anything to do with this.
He calls Fuat. They chat. He mentions that they had said there was another house. He says they could go today, if Fuat is available. They agree and he puts on his coat.

Ferit and Seyran enter a furniture store. They joke about who has the better taste to pick the carpet. A salesperson comes to help and Seyran tells them they want a large one. Ferit suggests a new sofa to Seyran, one that would be larger, more ergonometric, more comfortable for sleeping. Seyran restrains the salesman, telling him they only want a carpet. She points at one, but Ferit says it’s too small and the color is too light. It will show dirt when they have children.

The salesman suggests they might want children’s furniture too. Ferit carries on this banter, teasing Seyran.
Seyran, (making a comment that summarizes the whole dizi): How can you talk about kids when you’re one?
Ferit: Let me dream about a kid, Seyran. Wouldn’t it be beautiful? Our bet isn’t over. We’ll see what happens when I win, won’t we?
Seyran: When I win, we’ll go to enroll me in the university. You’ll see.
Ferit: Could be, but you have to win. Let’s get the rug first.
Seyran tests the rug and lifts it to look at the back.

Back at the yali
In the kitchen, Sultan is drinking tea with a pinched expression, watching Sefika try to find something.
Sefika: Everything I put away in this kitchen gets lost!
Sultan: Why don’t you tell me what you’re looking for. Maybe I’ve seen it around.
Sefika: I don’t even know what I’m looking for. I knew it a moment ago; now I’ve forgotten.
Sultan: Because you’re always too fussy about things.
Sefika: What are you talking about, Sultan? I think someone comes into the kitchen at night.
Sultan laughs at this. Who would come into the kitchen? You know we’re all so tired, we fall asleep as soon as our head hits the pillow.
Sefika: Ferit would do this. He always left a disaster at night.
Sultan is thinking.

FLASHBACK: We see a younger Ferit getting something from the refrigerator. Younger Sultan, with long flowing locks, asks him when he got back. He is very drunk and has trouble standing up. She assists. He asks for water, calling out her name several times. She cautions him that if anyone else sees him in this condition, he would be in serious trouble. Ferit says it doesn’t matter. His mouth (and hers) are ready to kiss. He starts to take her blouse off. She tells him not there, it’s too dangerous. He says he doesn’t care. He takes her on the kitchen counter.

Sefika brings Sultan back to the present: Sultan! I’m talking to you.
Sultan: I was thinking about something else. It’s probably his wife who’s messing up the kitchen at night. She would do something like that, because we know she’s not a real lady.
Sefika: What are you saying? What did she do?
Sultan says she is far too crude.
In walks Gulgun and asks: What’s far too crude?
Sultan covers by saying some of the vegetables are still raw and crude.
Sultan asks her if she wants something.
Sefika says she’ll make the coffee herself for Ms. Gulgun. Sultan says she will get Dicle and be right back. Gulgun tells her to stay, instead. She needs to ask her something.
Gulgun: What do you think of the new kid (Yusuf)? Is he good at his job?

Abidin and Suna are outside the furniture store. They enter and go to Ferit and Seyran. Suna asks if Seyran had called the family. Seyran says she tried calling Hattuc, but she didn’t answer.
Ferit comes out with a big smile, asking her what’s happening, sister-in-law. He tells her that her face is glowing. Seyran tells her not to pay attention to him, he’s doesn’t know what he’s saying. Suna wants to know what the plan is. Ferit, in a fun voice and a big grin: We got you a rug. Seyran picked it out by hitting it with her hand. Suna is just hoping that he has enough smarts to get them through the day. He tells her she will love it: It is anti-allergy, very soft, and breathable! The last is most important for their planned caper. He tells her he hopes she can breathe in there.
Suna: Are you seriously going to wrap me in a carpet?
Suna wonders if they should call the house and check on Hattuc and their mother. Hattuc’s phone is off, Seyran tells them. They can call Dad from a private number to let them know she is OK. Suna says she can’t talk to him. Seyran says it would just be two seconds. Ferit takes them out to the car. He tells Abidin to call Dicle and tell her that he sent a car to the house already.

Episode 27 #3

Fuat and Orhan walk down the stairs at a house that Kazim is looking over. He mentions several flaws, intending, no doubt, to put them on the defensive.
Kazim: It’s hard to find a place you like, even when you have plenty of money, right?
Fuat: Mr. Kazim, it’s exactly what you’re looking for. It has a big garden and spacious rooms.
Kazim: When you look at your house, you should feel renewed. Who designed this place? They should take out this wall and put in a window. It would be disrespectful if I told you I like it and I didn’t.
The realtor reminds him he liked the pictures. Kazim attributes that to the realtor’s skill. He says he doesn’t know how he does it. Compare the photos to the house. The realtor says he will get the tablet and they will keep looking.
Kazim is still fiddling with the window and its child lock. [I do wish I could understand this in Turkish to get the full Antep accent of his words as he deftly plays Fuat, Orhan, and the realtor.]
Orhan is getting irked: Mr. Kazim, we are doing everything we can, but you should also be doing the work of looking.
Kazim doesn’t seem to be listening and stops abruptly, causing Fuat and Orhan to stop, while he is checking something else in the house.
Orhan: We would have to build a house from the ground up.
Kazim (finally hearing what he wants): Is that so? It’s a good idea. Maybe we should. You talked about land the other day, didn’t you? If we could find decent, maintained land, we could do the rest as we like it.
Fuat: When you say decent land, should it be close to us with a view of the water?
Kazim: I didn’t say that, but now that you mention it, it’s a perfect idea.
They look at the backyard of the rejected house, where there is a pool. Kazim, full of himself, is making funny facial expressions, father and son are looking at each other, defeated.
Kazim’s phone rings. It’s an unknown number. He answers three times, and Suna finally says: Dad, it’s me, Suna. I’m OK. Tell Mom and my aunt not to worry.
Now we see Kazim worried. He stares at the phone after she hangs up. He slowly collapses to the ground. The others run to him.
Kazim: She’s fine. She calls me so shamelessly to tell me she’s OK.
Kazim’s face is moving with the tension. They offer him water.
Kazim: It’s fine. I’m leaving. We’re seen enough. Leave me. I’m going home.
Orhan: Is there anything we can do, Mr. Kazim?
Kazim looks like he is having a stroke or other health crisis.
Fuat: Are you sure you’re OK? Is it bad news from Antep?
Kazim: No, not in Antep. Not in Antep. It’s my daughter, Suna. Suna didn’t go to Antep. She hasn’t been home since yesterday. She escaped.
Fuat and Orhan look at one another.
Kazim asks Orhan: My brother, find her for me. I swear I’ll become a killer. If you can, find her for me, or I’ll become a killer. She’ll die here in Istanbul, count on it. Take me home. I can’t handle this.
He walks away like a broken man, a shell of the self-assured Kazim we just saw before the phone call.
Orhan looks after him with a long, thoughtful expression.

At the furniture store, Suna looks impactada, holding her phone. Seyran tells her it’s done. She was able to do it.
Suna: Seyran, he’ll kill us both.
Seyran: He can’t do anything. It’s in the past. For the first time, you talked to him without permission. It’s not the end of the world.
Suna is still unconvinced.
Up drives the delivery van. Ferit calls the two movers over. Abidin opens the cargo door. The rug is inside. Ferit and he have it all figured out, apparently. Seyran hugs Suna and tells her it will be OK. As Abidin helps Suna into the truck, we again see the chemistry between them cooking! She seems to trust Abidin and asks what’s the next step.

Episode 27 #4

Back at the rejected house, the four men exit the front, and Kazim still looks small and beaten down. Orhan is on the phone to Ifakat asking her if anything unusual is happening there. He tells her Kazim says Suna is missing. Orhan: She might be in the house. If so, and she leaves, it would be a big problem for everyone. Kazim is very nervous. Please don’t let Dad know.
Ifakat tells him they would have let her know if she was there. She tells him that a car is coming. Ferit and Seyran aren’t back.
Orhan: They didn’t say anything about it this morning. Maybe they don’t know.
Ifakat: Don’t worry. I’ll talk to them.

At the yali.
Latif tells Ferit they will handle the delivery of the rug. Ferit tells him they will do it themselves. Latif says it is inappropriate and that Yusuf and Ibo are coming now to do it.
Ferit: No, Mr. Latif, we can do it ourselves. We’re not bringing anything heavy. Have mercy on me. Don’t send anyone else here.
Latif grins and agrees. Ibo and Yusuf arrive, and Ferit also tells them they aren’t needed. They argue as well, but he is firm that he doesn’t want them (especially Yusuf!) and they leave.
There are two delivery men, Seyran, Ferit, and Abidin left to carry the carpet. They get it into the house and upstairs, when Ifakat comes out. She wants to speak to Ferit and Seyran right now. She also wants to see the rug first on the living room floor. They say no and Seyran says she will talk to her after. They get the rug upstairs, Abidin takes the delivery men and leaves, Ferit and Seyran unroll the rug, and Suna gets up! Ferit is so happy this worked because it was his idea, after all, and he rolls around on the rug laughing with glee. The sisters are happy, but worried because Ifakat seems to know about Suna. Suna: It shouldn’t be so hard to get into this house. Ferit laughs: You picked the hardest way, for sure! We’re a great family.
Ferit’s mood is contagious! Suna tells them they need to do their usual routine. Ferit says he will call Kazim, but that they should thank him first: Did you see what we did? It was incredible! I was going crazy! I don’t regret any of this! We did it! And Suna, what do you say? You’d be getting married in Antep if it wasn’t for me!
Seyran: Come, Suna. Let’s sit. This is Ferit Korhan’s land! He won’t stop talking. Let’s see what he has to say.
He sits in the chair beside the sofa where the girls are.
Ferit: You’re being mean. What else can I do for you two? Tell me, what else can I do? How negative! It’s like an old comedy movie!
Suna wants to know what comes next. Ferit says they will stay there as long as possible. This room belongs to the three of us!
He takes off his shirt to change, which startles Suna. Seyran turns her head and hugs her: Seriously, how did I regret this so quickly?
Seyran and Suna hug. Seyran asks Ferit to get some food for the girls who won’t be going to dinner.
Ferit goes to the intercom and calls Sefika.
Downstairs, Yusuf enters the kitchen. Dicle follows him with her eyes. We hear a Turkish song as they pretend not to be fascinated with one another. We see Esme walking in her room, with a huge black eye and a split lip from the beating she took from Kazim to protect Suna. Kazim is hanging on the balcony, thinking. Back at the yali, we see Ferit lying on the couch, smiling, and looking at his phone and watching the happy sisters eating. He gets up to join them. The three sit on the floor eating off the coffee table. Seyran smiles at Ferit. He’s in good spirits.

Then we see Halis looking out of his window. He has trouble standing up and is obviously ill. He sits at his desk and takes out a book. There is a picture of what must be Hattuc in it. He smiles at his memory. We see Hattuc lost in thought. We see Abidin walking in the garden, looking at the attic room (thinking of Suna, no doubt) while Sultan is watching him, thinking of Ferit, no doubt.
In the attic, the three young adults play with the new rug and laugh at their successful caper!
Later, we see Suna sleeping on the couch and Seyran watching her. Ferit is on the balcony with the door open, watching Seyran.

The song ends. We see beautiful Istanbul at night and the Sanli home.
Kazim has been drinking coffee all evening. He says it is his 8th coffee. He tells Hattuc that he can’t get his mind to stop. He says he knows when he sees her, face to face, he’ll know what to do. First, she’ll look him in the eyes. Then he yells at Esme to bring another cup of coffee. He threatens to break the cup over her head if she doesn’t make it right. She takes the cup with shaking hands. He tells her to bring chocolate because he has a terrible taste in his mouth. Hattuc gets the cupboard key to give to Esme, while he hurries them. Esme looks like she’s about to collapse. Then he starts throwing things at her that hit the wall and break into pieces.
Hattuc tells him to stop: She’s her mother, she’s suffering, too.
Kazim: Are you blind? She’s a serpent. She acts like she doesn’t know, but she knows everything.
Esme tries to open the cupboard but drops the key several times. Then she looks up at a cast iron skillet and, darn, I was hoping she’d hit Kazim. But, she uses it to break the lock on the cupboard. She hits it hard, which causes Kazim to yell: What the H is happening? Then she falls on the floor, crying loudly: I can’t take this anymore? I can’t. Save me, Allah. I can’t take him anymore.
Hattuc runs to her while even Kazim looks concerned.
Esme: Kill me, I can’t take anymore.
Hattuc: Esme, love, calm down, please! Hattuc holds her and promises that everything will be OK.
Hattuc gives Kazim a very angry look.
Kazim actually looks chastened, for the moment.
Esme: My daughters escaped. Allah take me now. Seyran protected her sister; now I can die in peace!
[Uh oh!] Kazim hears this and perks up.
Hattuc looks at Kazim and realizes this is significant.
Kazim: What the H did you say? Who protected who? You’ve been lying to me! Dam you!
Kazim goes to beat her some more, and Hattuc stands in his way: Stop it, Kazim! Stop torturing this woman!
He tells her not to get involved, but Hattuc says she will: You might be the head of the house, but I raised you! Don’t you see that all she has are her daughters? Go spit your venom elsewhere! Go! Get out! I don’t want to see you! Get out! {Yay Hattuc!]
Kazim turns to leave but threatens Esme: Wait for me. I’ll be back later.
Hattuc takes Esme’s hand: Don’t do this. Calm down. Hattuc holds her close.

At the yali, Ferit is writing at his table. Suna is asleep on the couch and Seyran is sitting beside her watching Ferit. There is a knock at the door. It’s Ifakat!
They quickly get Suna up and hide her on the terrace. Seyran closes the curtains. Suna hides behind a potted plant.
Ifakat comes in. She asks if Seyran spoke with her family. Seyran says not yet.
Ifakat: Don’t misunderstand me, but I thought you’d be with your family at a time like this.
Ferit: I asked her to stay.
Seyran: Yes, I will go. My father will also accuse me.
Ferit: She’s right. When Kazim’s calmer, we’ll go.
Ifakat: I see. I didn’t think about that. A lot has happened since I’ve been here. I forgot what the view looks like.
Seyran’s eyes are wide open and she makes a face at Ferit.
Ifakat opens the curtains and looks out. Suna is crouching behind the plant. Ifakat notices there is dirt on the handle and asks who cleans the room for them.
Ferit: That’s what I’m always saying.

Ifakat: I’ve got dust on my finger. Can I use the bathroom? Ferit tells her to go ahead. Seyran and Ferit’s body language is that of high anxiety as they worry about Suna outside and if Ifakat will find anything.
Ifakat comes out and they calm themselves to look innocent.
Ifakat: The carpet looks very nice. Mr. Halis won’t come down for dinner, for your information.
Ifakat: Thank you, aunt.
Ifakat leaves. Seyran sprints to the terrace door and calls Suna to come back in. Suna is very cold.
Ferit: We got lucky and dodged a huge bullet.
Seyran: Suna, do you want us to go eat now or later?
Suna: No, Seyran, you’re going to eat dinner. What’ll they say if you ask for food twice?
Ferit starts to laugh: Of course, Seyran eats for two! Seyran sends him a nasty look at this comment. Suna says she is seriously not hungry.
Ferit: Seyran, while you get ready, I’ll see how everything’s going downstairs. We have to be careful. And close the door when I leave, OK?

A taxi drives up and Kazim gets out, ready for battle. He looks at the front gate.

Ferit is skipping down the stairs. Sultan is there. He asks her how dinner is going. Sultan tells him that Carlos and Dicle are nearly done.
Ferit: Sultan, I have something to talk to you about. Something important.
She says that’s odd, but also she has something she needs to talk to him about.
They walk outside, by the yali.
Sultan: It’s about your mother, Ferit.
Ferit: Let’s go over there, so someone doesn’t see us.
They walk toward the water. Yusuf, of course, is watching.
Mustafa opens the front gate for Kazim, who strides in giving him a nasty look if he should dare stop him.
Mustafa welcomes him by name. He asks if they know he’s coming. No answer. Mustafa whispers to another guard to let them know of their visitor. Mustafa asks Kazim who he is there to visit. Kazim, in a gruff voice: What? I’m here to see my daughter.
Mustafa still wants to know who to announce him to. Kazim replies: Dam her, why do you care? Don’t make me mad!
Latif walks around the corner. He signals to Mustafa to let him go.
Latif: Mr. Kazim, welcome.
Kazim: Thank you. Listen to me, Latif. Where is my son-in-law and my daughter?
Latif: They should be in their room. Mr. Orhan’s downstairs, I can announce you.
Kazim: Tell me where my daughter’s room is.
Latif: On the top floor, in the attic.
Kazim turns his eyes to the attic room and starts walking.
Latif offers to show him. Kazim says he doesn’t need him; he wants to go alone.
Yusuf asks Mustafa if that was Kazim. Mustafa says yes and that he’s really upset. He yelled at Mustafa for no reason. Yusuf asks why he is upset, and Mustafa doesn’t know, just that he’s looking for his daughter. Yusuf thanks him and looks around. He tries to call Seyran but gets a busy signal. Kazim is inside, going up the main stairs, by twos!
