Mi verdad #70 part 1
Luciano and Mateo argue. You owe Belinda and Aitana an apology for insulting them. Mateo flies off the handle, you're not the boss of me vibes. Nobody can forbid me to see mama. Luciano wants to punch him in the face but won't because he is his brother. Instead he breaks a glass and tells him you've been warned.

Luciano goes to Eloisa's room where Aitana is actually with her for a change. Not awake yet? No, she replies. The doctor says deep sleep is good for her. Luciano thanks her for sticking up for Belinda (no thanks necessary). He is not looking forward to her leaving the house (“I've grown accustomed to her face” wending through my mind). Nobody is indispensable, she tells him. For me, you are, is his response. I have a surprise for you. Tomorrow the charges against Zac will be dropped.

Mateo returns to his apartment where Ximena is sitting at the table. Make me dinner, please. She thought he was staying at the hacienda with mom. I have some things to do (or did, tenses confuse me) in Matlan and I'm not feeling great so I came home. He's holding his side as he gingerly seats himself. He explains he removed the charges because some idiot recorded him stealing the knife and sent it to Luciano. She says it's a good thing they sent it to him and not Zac’s lawyer. He says I know ..

Aitana thanks Luciano. He discovered something which obligated Mateo to drop the charges, but he doesn't want to talk about it, it's too sad for him. She's still worried for his safety, each day is dangerous for him as someone tried to kill him already. They hug.

Iñigo takes photos of a sleeping unclothed Laura. He's doing this to stick it to Juanjo.

Uh oh, Mateo smells the fresh paint. Ximena says it must be my nail polish. He grabs her hands, these don't look freshly painted.

Caty, Bruno and her parents are given their new papers (well not Bruno yet as he wasn't in the original request, I think Armando tells him yours will be sent to you.). They are ready to commence their new lives.

Zac is released into the welcoming arms of his family and Aitana. Zac thanks his lawyer who.admits he didn't do much. Well Zac has some work for him, he wants to charge Mateo for what he did to him by sending him to prison.

Commandant Musquiz tells them this is the last time I'll see you, so Caty gives him a hug. You saved my life. Bruno thanks him also.

Eloisa wakes up. She needs some tissue. He gives her some from her desk and lo and behold he finds the letter from Bruno! He wants Mama to explain to him why he is blaming you and my brothers for these atrocities.

Adolfo, the lawyer, says I'll draw up the papers against Mateo and be in contact. Juventino thinks he should leave well enough alone. Zac just wants him to pay. Not positive how Aitana felt about it. I think she also wants him to leave it be.

Luciano demands to know what this letter means. She pleads ignorance. She has no idea why her own son would accuse her and his brothers of those terrible things. None of it's true, she insists. Do you swear, he asks.


 

MI verdad # 70 part 2

Eloisa can't believe Luciano would make her swear about something so horrendous, but if he insists, she swears she and his brothers are incapable of doing such a thing. She is deeply offended. She says he was probably drunk when he wrote that. But he's been clean for a while. She figures he fell off the wagon. That's probably why he decided to leave. Luciano says that's not why he left. He met a woman he fell in love with and he's giving up all for her. Well why didn't you say that from the beginning. Because it's just a theory I have, I'm not certain that's where he has gone. All the more reason to see that he's not thinking straight, giving everything up for a woman. He's obviously crazy. She goes on the offensive again about Luciano believing what Bruno wrote.

Aitana understands Zac wants justice, and she approves, but this would mean war to the death. That's what Juventino is afraid of. Clem is good with whatever Zac decides. He wants to go home and eat.

Eloisa calls Mateo. Find Bruno and make him shut his mouth. Mateo says he's an idiot. He'll find him, don't worry. Mom, you need to calm down. How can I, if your brother discovers our secret! He's already full of doubts. That's why we need to find Bruno before he does. I think she wants him and Iñigo to come to the hacienda to discuss strategies.

Luciano calls Armando. I need to talk to Bruno. I need to figure out what he wrote to mom. Armando says that's impossible. Bruno no longer exists. ( That's convenient for Eloisa and co.)

Make sure your sweetheart doesn't hear our talk. Don't worry, she's at University. He tries Bruno's number, but it's disconnected.

They are all boarding a bus to start their new life

Ok, I'm lost on what Luciano and Armando discuss in this segment. He says Iñigo abused his ex wife so I believe he is capable of doing bad things. Mateo he's not sure of after sending Zac to jail the way he did. And mom? I think she is capable of doing those things.

Juanjo gets a text. It's the nanny, Rosa, looking for his ex. She didn't come home last night after her date. He'll try to find her. (Although they didn't show it in the episode we watched Friday, I think in the version I saw on Dailymotion, Iñigo did put something in her drink).

Maid service knocks and enters the room where Laura continues to sleep. The closing door finally awakens her. Her phone is dead. Iñigo left her a note. She remembers nothing of the night before.

Luciano goes to Mom's room. She's mad that he gave Aitana time off. She went to the jail, Zac is being released. Zac was correct that Mateo set a trap for him and I have the proof. Were you involved?

Laura calls Juanjo. She had a dinner date. The whiskey must have been drugged because I don't remember anything. I don't feel well. You know I've never done anything like this before. He's just concerned about her. Is she going to get drug tested?

Iñigo slavers over the photos of Laura. Poor you, but your ex has to pay. Laura calls him. What did you give me. I feel drugged, don't remember last night…now you mention it that whiskey made me feel bad also he says. But you were incredible last night Laura. She looks like she wants to puke.





 

MI verdad #70 part 3
Luciano tells Eloisa some things I didn't quite catch. She says family is all important. He doesn't agree. She has overprotected Mateo. ( I could use some help on this scene....)

Inigo is laying it on thick about how she was such a wildcat in bed. She insists the whiskey was tampered with. Does he say he recorded their night of passion? He's talking too fast for me. She says she would never permit being recorded. You should be proud of how you made love.

Dinner at Zac's. He's going to the haciendas. It's time to sell the house and get part of your inheritance mom. Maybe not sell it, looks like they are moving in. Clem says she'd never permit it.

Iñigo and Mateo are talking with mom. How could you be so stupid to not destroy the letter? She says sorry, but your brother read it, so now what do.we do? Mateo says we can't call him, the phone is disconnected. I'll hire a PI. If he returns we'll make him deny what he wrote. He was drunk when he wrote.

Luciano is rereading the letter from Bruno. Why did you say I'm the only innocent one in this family. What happened at the festival 18 years ago?

Eloisa wants to know why Mateo changed his story and let Zac go. Because Luciano has proof against me. She thinks he'd never have used it, bit Iñigo sneers he's not like us. And Iñigo points out now he's free he'll be a much worse enemy.

Belinda sits with dad in the salon. What's up. The uncles are locked in with abuela and you were arguing with her before that. They discuss Bruno. She says I feel like he was saying goodbye to me the other night. I'm sure he'll be happy in his new life though.

Aitana and Zac meet a lady. She's Graciela's mom. She's been missing 3 years. She was going out to dinner with a friend but I never met him, only saw a photo.. Aitana finds a photo of Mateo on her phone.

Belinda tells dad that she and Gael are novios. She's loved him for years. Yes she just broke up with Rolando, but such is love.

The mom recognizes the guy. Now she can give the police a name to proceed with the investigation into her daughters disappearance. Aitana says he's Mateo Lizarrága and works as a vet. Her daughter worked in a veterinary pharmacy.

Luciano is ok with Gael as her novio. I don't want to tell the rest of the family she says but Aitana convinced me I should tell you. He appreciates that. She and I are now sisters in law, but I would have preferred her to be your girlfriend.

Micaela calls Ximena. She doesn't answer. Mica sends her a sweet text. I love you, take care.

Belinda tells Gael she told dad.

Mateo tells Luciano to not bother mom about the letter Bruno wrote. Luciano asks, why should I believe you and not Bruno. Because Bruno is sick in the head. Luciano points out that Mateo is also sick in the head. Don't you insult me Mateo threatens. I'm telling the truth based on your actions. Luciano mentions the abuse. Iñigo comes down the stairs and puts in his 3 cents. Luciano says I know you are capable of abusing a woman since you dit it to Nuria. They fight a bit.

Kat, thank you for your fantastic recap. You are doing a marvelous job.

The discord in the hornets nest among Eloisa, Mateo and Iñigo was gratifying. I hope it all implodes.

I fear Bruno is going to be hunted and can only hope he eludes capture.

Iñigo is disgusting; there is no limit as to how low he and Mateo can go.

I've been wondering all along if Aitana could live happily with Luciano knowing what his family did to her. Now, Luciano is coming to the terrible truth as his brothers' atrocities are slowly being uncovered. Once he finds out everything that happened to Aitana, will it be possible to live with the surely overwhlming guilt and sorrow?

I was so hoping Ximena would pick up Micaela's call!

At least Graciela's mother has a name to go with the face. It won't bring back her daughter but hopefully it will result in bringing Mateo to justice.

The noose is tightening, not fast enough though.

When I said she would never permit the Castillos moving into the hacienda, the she is Eloisa. The way I wrote it I seems I meant Clem. Because the page was put up late the first 2 parts I did in notes in my phone and it was actually not difficult to copy and paste, and I could proofread better. I will try to do them that way going forward.

And I just noticed I said 3 cents and not 2 cents in the last paragraph.

I'm not positive on the dead girls name, it was either Graciela or Gabriela, I didn't cross reference my old posts to see so excuse the error if I got it wrong. Ditto on Armando/ Adolfo. I get those names confused but pretty sure Armando was the CIA type guy and Adolfo the lawyer.

Thanks Diana. I'll be glad when this one ends. I like recapping but as you know 5 days a week is a lot. I usually start after 9 as the days are longer and my daylight hours at home are limited. I officially ended OT for my hip 2 weeks ago so that gained me a few more hours at home. I told the therapist I have too much gardening to do that will get me fit faster than PT. I still have some seeds to plant but for the most part the vegetables are in. The flower beds/ edge of the woods are being overrun with Japanese honeysuckle, smilax, vinca major and small trees.. The past few years while I was in so much physical pain, I Iet them go. Now I'm trying to tame it back to a semi manicured look.

Kat, these episodes are intense and you are doing an amazing job of keeping it moving! Especially impressive with all your other activities together with health challenges. Thank you for your time and energy.

Agree with Diana, tough to see a way forward for Luciano and Aitana as a couple in the aftermath. Painful to watch Luciano figuring it out. And isn’t he going to feel betrayed by Aitana?

Fallout from Bruno’s letter to Eloisa was a lot of denial, how could you even think we’d be capable of atrocities, Bruno was an unstable drunk. Luciano pointing out that Mateo falsely accused Zac and Eloisa was overprotective of him. Eloisa: family is everything.

When Luciano was trying to convince Armando it was important he contact Bruno, Armando saying it was impossible, Armando busted out a saying from his mother: “water always clears on its own.” Sort of ironic in law enforcement context.

I think piggy Iñigo told Laura she WANTED him to record her in bed. I would never….

Susan, Iñigo plotted to meet Laura, theirs was no accidental meeting. What occurred was his revenge to Juanjo.I don't think Juanjo has any idea that Iñigo is the scum who set Laura up; wait until he finds out!

Thanks so much Kat, you do an outstanding job on the recaps and get all the details down. This is getting fast paced as it heads toward the end.

If Mateo hires a private detective to track Bruno I think the good guys will haul Mateo and the detective into jail. I don’t think you can get away with looking for a person in the witness protection program.

I didn’t realize Mateo smelled paint in the apartment. I thought he noticed a painting missing! But now I know why he looked at Ximena’s hand.

I hope the only video Inigo took was of Laura sleeping. And I hope she gets a drug test too. Then Juanjo can go after Inigo. I have a feeling both brothers will get what they deserve without Aitana having to say or do anything. But I hope she tells Luciano just so he’ll know.

I'm really disappointed, I was hoping it would be Corazón de oro with Gabe Soto, although this may be good. Alexis Ayala is always a good villian and Alfredo Gatica (Lomeli) is another good actor appearing.

I was thinking the one redeeming quality of this show is that the protagonist, Aitana, doesn't have a sickly sweet role. So many shows I feel the better role goes to the antagonists. I will be glad when it concludes though.

Luciano after punching Iñigo controls his temper a bit. Mateo has shown up to try to diffuse the fight by saying mom will hear you. Luciano is going to find out what they are hiding that the letter referred to. Mateo says enough about the letter. Luciano leaves them. Mateo tells Iñigo he better be careful around Luciano, watch what you say, what you hear or what you do or he'll use it against us.

Ximena sends back a message to Mica.Thank you. Ximena days to herself, I miss you too madrina.

Aitana returns to work. Zac is free and clear, she tells Eloisa. Eloisa says yes, thanks to Mateo's nobleness in dropping the charges. Aitana says nobleness, or the fact that his lies were discovered. Dr Mendiola comes to check on his patient, happy to see Aitana is still there. She reminds him he is to look for her replacement. I think he said Eloisa is better and beating the cancer.

Larisa calls Luciano. She's been expecting a call from him. She thinks the paternity results will bring them back together but Luciano disabuses her of that hope. We have no relationship. Larisa thinks his mother's belief that children should be brought into the world in a married couple would have influenced him. He says that's my mother's belief, not mine and I'm not marrying a woman I don't love, goodbye.

Ximena thanks Mica again and if she ever needs her she hopes she can count on her. Mica with tears in her eyes texts you can always count on me.

Gael is dressed in a suit to talk with Luciano…. Luciano gives his approval to his relationship with Belinda.

Harps relationship is also under discussion with Zac and his folks. He likes that they are a couple. He almost lets it slip.that there is a good chance Belinda is a Lizarrága, but catches himself. Zac and Clem leave to talk to Luciano.

Luciano mentions the 2 are still young. Gael actually mentions marriage which draws a smile from him. Luciano's priority is Belinda's happiness.

Ooh, Larisa's dad tried to flee to France with false papers on a private plane and with millions in cash but was detained! Larisa watches the news in shock. Eloisa sees it on her phone and is happy, finally some good news. She calls her lawyer. Get our money back from Amador Rubido.

Clem and Zac thank for getting Mateo to drop the charges and find the evidence. Zac says I'm sure he didn't work alone, your mother was in on the trap. Luciano says I have no proof of that. Zac says fine but I'm sure that Mateo was behind the attack on me in jail, the death of Lobo (Zac’s dog) and the kids of his and Ximena's baby. Luciano can't believe all Zac is accusing him of. Zac says some day it will be proven and you will see him for the scumbag he is. Clem tells him because of their actions she wants her share of everything now.

Karime has the paternity results. Poor Aitana and Belinda. Mateo is the dad (the worst of the bunch IMO).

 

MI verdad #71 part 2

Aitana says what I felt . She would have preferred it to have been Lomeli. Karime points out they are all pigs. True, but at least he is dead. She'll never tell Belinda who the father is. He's been so cruel to her as a non biological uncle. If she finds out he's her dad!

Luciano tries to reason with Clem and Zac that this is not the time to sell. They then say sell the hacienda. Luciano says my mother is sick, this has been her home since she was first married. They don't care, she is guilty and they want their money and Clem also wants to claim the Lizarrága name. Luciano will try to get them what they are owed soon, but selling the hacienda will be the last thing he'll do to his mother. I think Clem and Zac say then we get a place in the hacienda, or a comparable place.

Aitana thinks that the truth will scar Belinda for life. Karime says your love for her can help with the wound she will be dealt.

Mateo and Iñigo are out in Mateo's vet/ranch office. The PI Mateo hired can't find Bruno. Luciano calls. You both need to come to the office to discuss something. Don't say a word to mom.

Tania is the mom of the missing (dead) Gabriela. She tells the inspector on the car that by a miracle she got a photo and name of the guy she went out with that night. He says this will be a great help.

Iñigo and Mateo are irate the Castillos want their house. Mateo says over my dead body (we are waiting with baited breath for that). Luciano says, then find a solution. They are doing this because of you Mateo, you provoked this and it backfired on you. And they are accusing you of killing Lobo and aborting Ximena baby. Mateo says they have no proof. Luciano says let's hope they don't. Mateo looks a bit concerned. Iñigo suggests getting a loan from the bank and Luciano says they can sell some of the other properties.

Gael says poor Belinda and Luciano have to suffer because of the rest of his family. He has a request. When you get the money I want to go to university. They say of course, we are proud you want to better yourself. He wants to be worthy of Belinda. He always wanted to go but knew the money wasn't there so he never mentioned it.

Luciano talks to Aitana about the Castillos wanting to sell the house. He thinks it would be bad for mom. Aitana says her health is a concern, but they have every right after what they did to Zac. I know she colluded with Mateo and it's not the first time. Luciano asks for her to tell him more but she says never mind. Luciano is very deceived in his family.

Mateo and Iñigo walk in the streets discussing the hacienda and how to keep it and other things I didn't follow well. Inigo doesn't want to lose any more money because of Mateo.


Luciano says Bruno accused them of terrible things but he doesn't want to repeat them to Aitana. He's thinking of selling his house to raise money. Aitana says don't. Your brothers can sell their apartments.

Belinda sits with Eloisa. They discuss Larisa's dad being extradited. She wants to see him face to face in jail. Luciano and Aitana come in as she says this and finds out about Amador Rubio. Maybe Larisa can help us get our money back. Luciano tells them the results are in, he's the dad. Nobody looks happy.

 

Mi verdad #71 part 3

Ximena is at her OB. She lost her prescription for the folic acid. She says she's not pregnant now but wants to be prepared. The doctor says this is the bottle (on the computer screen) and the pills are white. Ximena shows a picture of the pills found in Mateocs dark room. DR explains those are abortion pills and they take effect within 24 hours. They are light brown pills.

Eloisa isn't happy her first grandson is the grandson of a thief. Belinda says you still aren't getting back with her, right. He says yes, they are not a couple, no marriage between us. That makes Belinda happy. Eloisa is going to treat the first grandson special (monetarily?). Belinda says that's unjust only because it's a boy.

I guess Mateo and Iñigo were discussing Grandpa's will. Darn they say, cem inherits. Inigo is not happy.

Aitana calls Larisa. She doesn't believe that Luciano is the dad and wants to see the results with her own eyes.

Belinda and Gael have a picnic. They discuss college. After what she's been through she wants to study psychology.

Larisa sends the results to Aitana. Now leave me in peace. Aitana calls Karime who just happens to be at the hospital as her client is having tests done. Aitana doesn't trust Larisa. Karime is friends with the receptionist and will invest.

Belinda wants to help others that have been traumatized like she has. Gael notes that therapy helped her..she says it has in both areas, she'll tell him about the other thing some day.

Karime talks to the receptionist. She is ready to spill the beans.

Karime calls Aitana. When Larisa had the paternity test done she ordered a second test with a toothbrush. Aitana is sure it was Iñigo's. Aitana needs Luciano to find out that she did 2 tests.

Gael asks about Bruno. Belinda says he left for good.

Eloisa is wheeled to the garden for fresh air. Aitana tells her I'll be right back with your meds. Eloisa hears giggles and asks who is there. It's Belinda and Gael . Eloisa tracked them down and catches them kissing. What's the meaning of this she demands.

Zac and Aitana make plans via phone, it's a surprise Zac says

Eloisa tells Gael to get out of here. Belinda says he's my novio, don't talk to him like that. Eloisa forbids her to have a relationship with a Castillo. He isn't in our class. Belinda reminds her she isn't a Lizarrágas by blood and she can date who she likes. Aitana has returned at this point. Belinda says bye cunis. That sets Eloisa off some more.

Eloisa is in bed when Luciano enters. Eloisa is irate; he's approved of a relationship between Gael and Belinda. Luciano is no classista. Eloisa you obviously care more about the Castillo family more than your own.

Another excellent recap Kat. Thank you for your razor sharp insights and comments. So glad there was forward movement as secrets and lies begin to bubble to the surface.

Loved "Mateo says over my dead body (we are waiting with baited breath for that)" as I nod my head vigorously in agreement.

I can't believe Mateo is Belinda's father. "Aitana thinks that the truth will scar Belinda for life". I couldn't agree more. I really didn't think the writers would go there, but go there they did. I also think Lomeli would have been the least heinous choice, simply because he is no longer of this world (although hopefully roasting somewhere hot for all eternity).

Clem and Zac are being agressively proactive (good for them), determined to get what is theirs. I felt a bit for Luciano, the recipient of their pressure who is both sympathetic. And blameless.

Justice for Gabriela will come soon, thankfully.

It now seems Micaela will be there to pull Ximena together once she finally realizes what a fiend Mateo is.

Larisa is having a very, very bad day. First, papa is caught and soon, the truth about her baby will be revealed. I am glad though that Luciano never considered getting back with her despite her expectations. Boo hoo.

Happy Zac doesn't seem to have any idea the roof is going to collapse on him soon. I wonder what he has planned for Aitana; I fear a ring and proposal may be involved.

“ I fear a ring and a proposal may be involved.” You hit it on the head, Diana. Aitana knows what Zac’s intentions with her continue to be. She is far from stupid. Why does she continue to give him hope? Is it a “sympathy” date? This is one aspect of her that I do not like.

At least, Luciano has the will to resist his mother and Larisa.

I felt so bad for Luciano last night as Clementina amd family insisted on her inheritance in one month but I had to laugh as Mateo and Iñigo tried to find any which way they could to get around paying the inheritance. If I didn’t know how evil they both were, it would have been funny. What evil geniuses but dunderheads at the same time!

Ugh, Mateo. Even Iñigo would have been preferable, better a nasty jerk than a psychopath.

Luciano is certainly behaving well under intense pressure from all angles! Quite gracious to sweet Gael.

Mateo and Iñigo scrambling scenes I didn’t follow well either. The PI wants money for the Bruno search, and Luciano can’t know. As Jarifa noted, they rehashed the estate paperwork and side letters, speculating whose names were on the documents. Iñigo even raised falsifying docs, but Mateo shot that down. Upshot was after they rooted around in some office papers, they located a document in grandpa’s name (not Eloisa’s as they had hoped), making Clem’s case stronger.

Yes, though Eloisa now rejects Larisa as a family member, Eloisa plans a hefty bond/financial gift to her first male grandson. She doesn’t care if her attitude is “machista.”

Two proverbs, both litigation related. Adolfo the lawyer was quoted as saying: “a bad settlement is better than a good lawsuit” (es mejor un mal arreglo que un buen pleito). And with reference to going after Amador, Eloisa: “there is no worse battle than the one that’s not undertaken” (no hay peor lucha que la que no se hace).

Thanks Clara, I'm glad you chimed in and the fact you also had difficulty following the dialogue between Iñigo and Mateo makes me feel less of a failure! Thanks for the proverbs translation. Last night's show was new to me as I didn't get a sneak preview on Dailymotion. Definitely Mateo was the worst option as the father.

I guess it's a good thing Eloisa only had boys as she is definitely not supportive of the females in her family. I still wonder how Luciano turned out so well as they were all raised by the same parents.

I agree that Mateo is the worst possible father for Belinda. When all his evil acts are finally revealed, it is going to be devastating for everyone involved . I cannot believe these writers .They seem to want to torture the viewers . I suppose they will use the " nature vs nurture " angle since Luciano and his wife were loving, supportive parents to Belinda during her formative years.

I love that Luciano quickly stopped Larisa’s attempt to trap him into marriage. I hope Luciano and Nuria discover the real results of the paternity test soon.

Aitana was probably right in wishing that Lomeli was the father because he’s dead but that is precisely why the writers killed him off. I really hope Mateo dies too, to be honest.

Eloisa has absolutely no say in who Belinda dates. I’m glad that Belinda stood up for herself and Gael.

Will Ximena confront Mateo about the abortion pills? She better be careful.

Thanks Kat, your recaps are amazing and let us know every detail, good and bad. Or maybe bad and worse! We still have three weeks left and I’m worried about all the pain those two brothers can cause. I wonder why Luciano is so unaware of the evilness in his brothers. Ximena needs to pack and leave now. And Clem and family better not push too hard.

Zac and Aitana made a pact, they were pretending to be a couple because of Ximena, although I never understood their reasoning. But Zac just isn’t into pretending.
 

MI verdad #72 part 1

The detective, Sergio, from Matlan comes looking for Mateo at the hacienda. Luciano brings him to the. Vet office and is present when he questions Mateo about Gabriela. Mateo pleads ignorance. Luciano looks skeptical.
Juanjo is at work and his secretary gives him a letter that arrived for him. It's from Iñigo about the sexy photos he took of his ex-wife. Juanjo is furious.

The inspector asks Mateo to take another look. He still says I don't recognize her. Then he asks Mateo where were you on March 23rd 3 years ago. ( Haha. Now that is a stupid question). Mateo rightly says how do you expect me to remember where I was 3 years ago? After the inspector leaves Luciano asks Mateo questions. You seemed nervous when you saw the photo, etc. Mateo says get out of here.

Zac leads Aitana on a hike to.a waterfall.

Juanjo has Laura meet him at a cafe. He asks were you at this hotel (the room key was included in Iñigo’s letter.,). She thinks he's interfering in her private life, but he tells her were you with Iñigo. Read this, it was a trap. She's shocked.

Luciano mulls over Mateo's reaction. What are you hiding? Your behavior is not normal. Iñigo enters his office. A bank loan isn't possible as the interest rates are too high. Also a mortgage on the house is a no go because of something in the paperwork. Luciano mentions something about his dad in regards to the 📜. Inigo tells him you need to do something. Luciano says me? It's we have to.



Laura is confused why he took nude photos of her. Juanjo explains, he's using these photos to change the terms of visitation with his daughters. She says he drugged me. Juanjo says do not be in contact with him.

Iñigo tells Luciano he has no assets to contribute to the payout. Luciano says how convenient and asks him to leave.

Laura doesn't want to let Iñigo off the hook. Juanjo says he's a dangerous man. Laura:If he puts a hand on me I'll accuse him of violating and drugging me
Juanjo points out there is no proof, I'm sure he used a drug that does not remain in your system for analysis. She's still going to get her blood tested. Juanjo wants her to stay far away from the monster Iñigo.

Clem, Gael and Juventino discuss the missing Bruno. Gael hopes wherever he went, he's happy. The lawyer arrives. He has the paperwork against Mateo for Zac to review. He brought it there because he couldn't find Zac. Gael mentions an inspector from the city was questioning Mateo so he thought the form had been filed already. The lawyer says they must be questioning him about something else.

Mateo is with Mom who tells him to calm down or you will give yourself away. He says how can I calm down, why after 3 years? You were in agreement with me. (Some clarification here would be helpful Clara) She says because you killed the woman. Idiot, you didn't give me any other choice. Mateo starts hitting himself in the head. Quit acting like a scared child. Mom, I'm frightened. I know but stick to the story you told the inspector.

*Luciano calls his lawyer about selling his house as quickly as possible. So many problems he mutters. I miss you so much Aitana. I could use your help at this time.
*Eloisa asks, is there anything that would tie you to this woman? Answer me. He says yes. Are you an imbecile? How could you keep anything about her? Get rid of everything pertaining to her. She says, first calm down Luciano already has suspicions.
*Juanjo discusses what to do about Iñigo with another lawyer. My takeaway is they can't get Iñigo for distribution of the nude photos since they haven't actually been posted on the web, but they can charge him with extortion.
*Mateo heads down the stairs. Luciano stops him. You need to sell your apartment, etc. Mateo says I can't. Luciano says it's not a request, do it. It's your actions that have brought this about. Or do we sell the hacienda out from under Mama. He says where will I live then? Rent a place with your salary or move back here for a time. Mateo says fine. I have to go.
*Gael gets info on college from a counselor. He runs into Ximena there. He tells her he wants to study agricultural science. He mentions something about Mateo letting her study there and she says it's the least he owes me ( I think). Gael says BTW, why were the police questioning him at the ranch? It's news to Ximena.
*Mateo bags up everything in the dark room.
*Ximena calls Aitana and says the mother of Gabriela must have gone to the police. Mateo was questioned this morning at the ranch. Aitana tells her the photos he took without your consent were bad, but worse was the abortifacant he gave you. You are in danger. Ximena doesn't know where to go. Aitana offers her mom's place, Micaela is there. Count on my help.
*Mateo burns the photos, the proof of his guilt.
*Ximena has no money to get away and she can't ask Mateo. Aitana says send me your account info and I'll get you the money for a bus ticket. Get away immediately. Aitana tells Zac, who's been hovering during the phone call, that Ximena is leaving. Thank God, Zac says. Ximena calls someone about a key. A locksmith?
*Luciano visits Clem. He's glad she's alone as he has some questions about things that happened over the years at the hacienda. She says, of course. We were invisible to you all and I heard plenty. What do you want to know? He asks about 18 years ago and the fiesta de San Benito.
*Nuria and Juanjo arrive at her house, she thanks him for the ride. He says I have to tell you something. He didn't want to discuss it via telephone. What's up? Iñigo did his thing.
*Luciano says I wasn't here 18 years ago, we were in Mexico city dealing with Irena's infertility, but something happened then. Clem says that's the last time your cousin Lomeli was here. After the fiesta your mother banned him from visiting. He was a bad influence on Iñigo and Mateo with his drinking etc. Clem isn't sure what happened though. Why the interest in something that happened so long ago?
*Iñigo is at the upscale bar again. He talks to himself in his head about how he has Nuria and Juanjo in his clutches and he better get a response from them by tomorrow.
*Nuria can't believe the depths Iñigo has sunk to in his perversion. She feels guilty for involving Juanjo and his family. Juanjo says this is on him, it's not your fault. She figures let's remove the clause about the restriction so he leaves us in peace. Juanjo says no way. If he wants a fight I'll give him one.
*Luciano meets with Ortega. He wants his help on a violation that happened 18 years ago after the festival. Ortega says if it's been digitized I can check it quickly, if not it will take longer. Luciano gives him the exact date, 13 June. That helps a lot. I'll let you know what I find.

Zac is thrilled that Gael is going to college. Gael gives him the paperwork Adolfo left for him.

Lucino talks to Aitana in her room about Belinda. Nothing earth shattering in this dialogue except the sad music playing as they converse. Once again we see the photo of Mateo and another photo of 3 guys, could be the other 3 brothers, just 5x7 framed pictures on the sofa table behind her bed.

Ceci and Nuria discuss Iñigo. Nuria wants Ceci to help her in making Iñigo pay (even though Juanjo doesn't want her involved).

Aitana gets her laptop and types…have no confidence in the paternity test of Larisa. Is this another anonymous message to Luciano?

Luciano visits Nuria. She tells him Iñigo got Juanjo's ex in bed and took nude photos of her to use as extortion. She knows he's his brother but… She doesn't want to go the route of charging Iñigo because of her daughters. Can Luciano or his mother influence Iñigo in some way? Luciano says not mom, her health is bad.

Iñigo tells mom,as he pushes her outside, that his investigator has discovered that Bruno has erased all traces of his existence. The only thing he found was a bus ticket in his name to Mexico City. They discuss something else I didn't feel like translating. Inigo says one less problem (Bruno's disappearance).

Mateo talks to Ximena at home as they eat. She seems distant. She says you fought with me last night, that's why. Mateo blames the Castillos for threatening to take Mom's house away. He says I'll see you tonight and kisses her goodbye. After he leaves she wipes her mouth in disgust. I think she calls Zac (or the locksmith again)to say she wants to go soon, don't be late.

Ortega calls Luciano. The records were digitized so he got the info fast. No violation charges were filed. There was a fight between some drunks reported, a liquor store robbery and a fire in the outskirts of San Benito that killed Humberto Rodriguez. Back then women rarely reported violations. Ortega is sorry he couldn't be of more help. After they hang up Luciano speculates that neither Nuria or Aitana reported their violations; it's likely that girl didn't either.

Ximena has her suitcase packed and is putting stuff in her purse. She looks at a small piece of paper and puts it in her wallet. She stares at the hidden room.

Luciano calls Iñigo and leaves him a message. I need to speak with you. Meet me at the hacienda. Yup, Aitana sent a message to Luciano. Larisa had two paternity tests done on the same day. You want to be sure you are really the dad.

Ok, Ximena got the locksmith out to open the room again. She's playing with fire! She opens the room which has been cleared out. Uh oh. Mateo walks in. What are you doing in here?

Wow! The longer this novela goes on the better it gets. I wasn’t a big fan at the start but it has turned into must-see tv.

Yes, it was a stupid question asking Mateo what he was doing three years ago.

Best scene of the night: Mateo telling mamá about the police visit. Chris Pascal was so good as his mother’s disturbed little boy hitting himself in the head and ruffling his own hair. In his portrayal of Mateo, he also has this look of quiet outrage that is perfect.

Thanks so much for the detailed recap. I know you put a lot of work into these recaps but it’s great to read and learn the details that were out of my reach.

Inigo was low but now he’s threatening to send the pictures to Juanjo’s children. I don’t know how old they are but someone that sick should never be allowed to see his own kids. I thought he would send them to Juanjo, kind of a tit for tat, you had my wife so I had yours. I can’t wait to see what happens to Inigo at the end!

I’m really worried about Ximena. Mateo is a killer. I wonder who’s coming to get her. If it’s Zac he might kill Mateo. No great loss but he could end up back in jail. If it’s Aitana she could get hurt. My thought is Mateo will lock her in that room and tell everyone she left!

That ending was a cliffhanger, but at least it wasn’t on a Friday!

I feel sorry for Luciano, his brothers cause all these problems and he’s stuck cleaning up. I wish Clem would ease up on him, she just wants her money, which is rightfully hers, but at what cost to Luciano

Not much to add on the scene you flagged, Mateo running to Mom after inspector’s visit. Mateo told her— you agreed with what I did. Eloisa responded that was because the damage was done—you had already killed her! Get ahold of yourself, Luciano will suspect you, get rid of anything you kept that would connect you to her. When Mateo is burning the photos, he mutters to himself they were his “greatest treasure.”

Ximena, uh oh is right! When she and Aitana got into darkroom earlier, didn’t Aitana take pics of everything on her phone? So why did Ximena risk getting back in there? And why wasn’t any of this shared with police? In the phone call with Aitana, Aitana stressed go now, go immediately, I’ll deposit into your account, go to my mother and Micaela. Ximena called the locksmith right away, but then we see her having breakfast with Mateo the next day. When Mateo leaves, she calls the locksmith a second time. Hurry. Will Aitana and Zac think she left the previous day?

Another thing that confused me is Inspector Ortega reported to Luciano that he had checked the records for June 13 and 14, the Saturday and Sunday of the festival. The reports included the fire in which Aitana’s dad Humberto Rodríguez died. So the fire was the same night or next day as the rape? And wasn’t it thought that Aitana also died in fire?

I am probably overthinking! Poor Ximena, just as she was getting it together to get away.

Iñigo is putrid. I'm afraid Nuria is going to proceed with some half baked revenge scene and someone is going to get hurt.

As afraid as I am for Ximena, perhaps the fact the room is empty will buy her time to escape. Mateo cannot afford to commit another murder but I am also afraid he is going to lock her in the room with Aitana, Zac and others convinced she is on her way to safety.

Gael is a little chatterbox, isn't he? Thank heavens :)

Good points all. I missed that Iñigo was going to send the photos to Juanjo's boys, Liz. Jarifa, the actor portraying Mateo is exceptional. Those round glasses he wears gives him a perpetually childish look. I feel he has never really grown up. I can't believe he was able to qualify as a vet. His cruel streak is rampant. He probably excelled in the cutting up of dead animals to discover their inner workings or cause of death.

Clara, I don't understand why Ximena had to get back in the room either. Aitana did take pictures of everything. Also, when they broke the lock originally was it really not broken? Did they get an exact replica keyed the same so Mateo didn't know. If so they should have had a copy of the key made!

About the presumed death of Adriana, I think they said she died later in a car accident or something, not in the fire. If it had been in the fire her body would have been found. I think someone (Iñigo or Eloisa are my guess?) conveniently decided Bruno would be better managed if the girl was presumed dead and the story grew as a result.

Thanks for addressing my confusions! So many plots afoot and quick jumps.

Mateo’s secret room is puzzling. Remember Gael and Juventino took all those tools to repair the lock, and we speculated they would get a glimpse inside? Then Mateo noticed a paint smell but nothing else disturbed.

About the fire, I thought there was another body that couldn’t be identified. Must be confusing with another TN! Definitely surprised that fire was set soon after the rape. Wonder if we will ever get more details about Eloisa’s involvement in the immediate aftermath.

I have the feeling Ximena was not aware that Aitana had sought out Gabriela’s mother who went to the police. When Gael told Ximena the police went to Mateo’s, Ximena immediately called Aitana and asked — did you report him?

Yes, the Mateo actor is perfect. Adding to his childish look (despite his rather large build) are the polo shirts buttoned up to his chin.

As terrible as it sounds, Ximena potentially being murdered by Mateo could expose his other crimes once and for all. Aitana and Zacarias in particular would certainly be able to conclude that Mateo is responsible if Ximena is found dead.

Aitana and Lomeli recognizing each other almost instantly actually worked out in Aitana’s and Luciano’s favor given the fact that Luciano was away when the assault and fire occurred. When Luciano learns the truth he would certainly remember that Ortega mentioned a fire that occurred in that same time frame. Whatever happens to Eloisa, Mateo and Iñigo…I hope that Luciano is able to find peace.

Kat, thank for an excellent replay of all the darkness and doom . At this point , I realize that the writers decided to offer very little balance between good and evil . That's why it feels overwhelming and hopeless that the tide will turn . The villains are going to keep getting away with tormenting the good ...and us ...until the bitter end . So, what anvils would be poetic justice for the wicked ? Any suggestions ?
I agree that the actor playing Mateo is doing an amazing job portaying evil incarnate . It's hard to remember that this actor played a basically good guy in Fugitives. Ironically , when I first saw promos of this show and the four brothers , I thought he was the best looking And would be playing a good guy .

Diana I was writing my response when you posted yours earlier but I noted your remarks. Locking her in the room would be one way but with the police on his case now a chance if the apartment being searched might lead to her discovery. I'm with TF on his point. If he kills her then it would tie him to all the other events. Gabriela's body has never been found but I could see him feeding her to the pigs or something so she never would have been discovered.

Susan, I'm thinking Mateo is too evil to live and his parentage of Belinda makes it even more necessary for him to die, preferably self inflicted or by the police so Zac or Luciano aren't on the hook for it. Iñigo deserves a long prison sentence for what he did to Laura. I'm afraid what he did to Adriana was too long ago so the statute of limitations is over and she never reported it when it happened. I hope the head sex traffic honcho is brought to justice and Bruno can see his brother and niece again, and possibly he will have kids with Caty too.

Kat, I agree that the best that could happen for Belinda, Aitana, and luciano would be for BSC Mateo to die . Even if he goes to jail or an asylum , he would still be alive .
Inigo in prison and on the receiving end of abuse seems fitting .

I don't think Eloisa will.last much longer .

I hope that the writers give us some HEAs. I think that Aitana, Luciano, and Belinda will get one , as well as the young lovers Belinda and Gail. Maybe Zac will get Kirime as a lovely parting gift. Ximena is a tragic figure who refused to face the truth about Mateo, so what think she will have a tragic fate.
But then , I am.usually wrong in my predictions about these new novels which don't follow the formulas that the old novelas followed .
