Kara Para Ask – Black Money Love – Amor de Contrabando – Amor y Dinero Negro
Episode 136 #1 of 7
Omer is with the Denizer sisters outside a car stopped on a major road. Omer and Elif walk toward a waiting taxi (for Elif), and Asli tells Nilufer not to cry because if she does, Asli will also lose control. Omer takes Elif’s head in his hands as he lovingly tells her he will never forget her. They kiss.
Elif: I would never be able to help you, my love. I’m sorry.
She gets into the taxi, he reaches out for another kiss, and she finally gets into the cab. Omer’s face is tortured as he watches the taxi leave.
Asli sends wishes for Elif to start a new life as the sisters watch Elif leave. She says Elif is strong. Nilufer asks Asli what they will do now, how they can reach the goal Elif wants them to. Asli reminds her that they have learned a lot from their sister.
Omer walks to the sisters and tells Asli she needs to go because they will be looking for her at the house. He tells her she needs to tell the authorities that she hasn’t seen Elif since the day before. He reminds both sisters that they shouldn’t volunteer any information, just say what they have already agreed upon. Asli agrees and asks Omer how he is doing. He replies that he’s trying to keep functioning for all their sakes. Asli reaches out and gives him a hug. She tells him he’s a good-hearted person and they are fortunate to have him. He tells the sisters to go.
Omer is left with his thoughts.
At the police station, Pelin runs down the stairs to their office, frustration evident in her body language. She enters the room abruptly with a big frown on her face. Arda, Ipek, and Tolga look up. Pelin tells Arda she needs to talk with him. He asks what is going on. Pelin tells him not to ask and to go with her.
Ipek: What’s happening? Do you have news about Elif and Omer?
Pelin: Nothing.
Arda follows her out, trying to keep up with her fast pace. He wants to know what’s going on. She takes him into an empty office and tells Arda he’s the one who needs to tell her what’s going on.
Pelin: You got the arrest warrant over an hour ago, and you didn’t tell anyone. We’re behind schedule and the boss is yelling because we’re not doing our job.
Arda: I think you’re exaggerating. The procedure was the same as always.
Pelin tells Arda he needs to give her that document right away. Then she can start the process. She tells him to call Omer and get him to come quickly. There’s no time to waste.
Arda looks around, avoiding her eyes. Pelin tells him she knows that look very well. He doesn’t want to, it’s clear. She says he wants her to give the order so Elif can escape. He is cooperating so she has time to get away.
Arda turns around to leave the room, but Pelin is right there after him telling him he’s not going anywhere.
Pelin: Arda, are you going to tell me where Elif is?
Arda: Don’t get involved in this.
Pelin: What do you mean by that? Do I have to remind you what your job is?
Arda: Listen, it’s not as simple as you think. Tayyar Dundar did a great job this time. Elif has no chance of being acquitted. No judge, prosecutor, or jury will believe her. Look at you, even you have doubts, don’t you? Otherwise you wouldn’t have that expression. Pelin, Elif won’t be able to stand being in jail. We can’t allow it. Omer wouldn’t forgive us if something happens to her. Just wait an hour. Also, the more you’re away from her, the more you can enforce the warrant.
Pelin is impactada with this and stares at Arda.

Next, we see her exit the room. Arda is in pursuit telling her he can’t believe what she is doing.
She tells him she also can’t believe what he is doing. They stop in the hall and face one another. He again asks her to think about it.
Pelin: Wasn’t it you who went after Husseyn because he betrayed the profession, but now you are obstructing justice. You’re betraying the profession. If you don’t want me to file charges against you, you’d better move.
Pelin walks to their office and enters.
New boss is asking Ipek and Tolga: They’re saying they don’t have the address of Elif Denizer. Why don’t they go looking for her? Why isn’t she in the interrogation room?
Pelin: Excuse me, sir. I think she may have fled.
Arda rolls his eyes in frustration. The new boss looks very seriously at Pelin: You think so? Now we work with “I think?”
Pelin amends her comment: In fact, I’m sure. We’ve looked everywhere. We haven’t found her. Nobody knows where she is. I think we should inform all the border crossings in the city.
Boss: Enforce the warrant. Arrest the others. I want you to hand over the photographs and warrants related to this.
The new boss wheels around and leaves with an exasperated expression on his face.
Omer is still standing on the highway next to his car. He sees an airplane take off from the airport, and smiles, thinking she is on the plane. He tells her they will see each other again.
At Elvan’s home, she is on the phone talking with a friend: Yes, we are destroyed. Melike is preparing something, and it turns out to be Husseyn’s picture. She hangs it again on the wall. The boys are sitting on the sofa, and Demet is on the other sofa. Fatma is helping.
Elvan is still talking, saying it was his fate. Melike goes to the boys, lifts up Burhan and sits with both Hasan and Burhan closely held.
Melike is telling the boys she knows it is difficult. She grew up without a father. A father is a large mountain that always protects one from the storm. Now it’s time for you to grow. I can’t substitute for a father, but I promise that I will care for you always so that you will never sense his absence. I’ll do all I can so that you study and grow up like your uncle Omer but you need to help me, OK?
Demet reaches over and tells Melike she will always be there for her mother and that she will never leave her alone.
Melike: Husseyn made me suffer too much. May Allah forgive him. But I’m grateful because he gave me the most wonderful thing: my three beautiful children.
Elvan is seated on the other side of the sofa, listening to this.
At the police station, Omer gets out of his vehicle and walks in. Policemen tell him they are sorry (about Husseyn). He stops and looks at the imposing front of the building, takes a deep breath, and then goes inside.
Pelin is reading documents. Omer walks in and greets her.
Pelin: Omer, where have you been? I called you and didn’t answer the phone.
Omer: I walked for a while to calm down. I left the phone in the car. I didn’t realize how time passed. What did you do?
Pelin: Where is Elif? When I left, you were together. I must know where she went.
Omer: I went into the shower and when I came out, she was gone.
Pelin: Really? I can’t believe that you are lying to me, Omer.
Pelin stands and throws several photos on the desk in front of them: Omer, what is all this? Explain it!
The pictures are of the meeting just now between Elif and her sisters with Omer pulled over on the highway.
Pelin: These were caught on camera while you were saying goodbye. I can’t believe this, Omer.
Omer: And she was able to get away?
Pelin: If you’re asking if we could catch her, no. But, come, come with me.

Episode 136 #3 of 7
Omer follows her out into the hall. He wants to know where they are going. She walks him further, until they see Elif in cuffs being accompanied by a policeman. She looks up and they make eye contact. Omer is impactado.
Omer: I thought she had escaped.
Pelin: She turned herself in.
When Elif reaches Omer, he asks here what she is doing. She sya she isn’t afraid and he shouldn’t be, either. She nods to the policeman to take her away.
In the hideout, Fatih is talking to Husseyn, trying to remember when everything went so bad. Husseyn tells him he is trying to remember what happened. Husseyn doesn’t want the juice that Fatih is offering. Fatih tells him he will explain. Husseyn clung to the wrong things, made mistakes. But if you keep punishing yourself like this, you won’t recover.
Husseyn: I thought you wanted to kill me.
Fatih: You’re wrong. I need you healthy. What did I tell you before? I told you we’d work together.
FLASHBACK: Husseyn remembers climbing out a window and Fatih entering. He was shot and falls from above. Fatih puts him in a van and they stop awhile later. Fatih sends the driver away. Husseyn goes to leave, but Fatih pulls him back, telling him to calm down. Husseyn tells Fatih he notices that he doesn’t want to leave witnesses, just like his father ordered, right? Good job.
Fatih tells him to shut up. It’s true if Fatih hands Husseyn over to Tayyar, he’ll kill you, that’s for sure. But luckily, we have a plan.
Husseyn: And what plan do you have? To shoot your father?
Fatih: That man is too tough, it seems he has nine lives. I already did it once, and so did you. Didn’t you try? And he’s healthy and alive, surrounded by a wall of men.
Husseyn: What do you want to do? What are you looking for? What do you want from me?
Fatih: Husseyn, Tayyar is planning to kill you and pass your death on to someone else. But I have a plan because I’m a professional, you know that. Tayyar must convince himself that you no longer exist. So, we’ll fake your death, then you’ll start a new life.
Husseyn: Why? Why get into trouble like this?
Fatih: Tell me what you’re thinking. I need to know what you know. You helped Tayyar a lot, now you’ll help me. We’ll join forces. Tayyar created an empire; we’ll make it even larger with his facilities. So, choose, you choose to live or die.
Back in the present, Husseyn tells Fatih: I chose between an assassin and you. My fate pressured me to do this. I hope your dam plan works, that that assassin never comes after me.
Fatih: Look, Husseyn, if you follow me, you’ll have good luck, but you’ll regret having been born if you don’t follow me. You’ll be with me on the right side. Don’t be afraid, trust me. What happened to your friends, Omer and the other idiots? There they are, still looking for clues against you, yet what have they found? Nothing. And you know why I’m telling you this? Because my plan is working. You’re officially dead.
FLASHBACK: Hussein asks Fatih how he’s going to do it. We have this place (the cabin) and you’ll be among the ashes.
Husseyn: What will you do with the DNA?
Fatih looks away and Husseyn scoff as him: Didn’t you think of that? Why aren’t you saying anything? It seems your plan isn’t infallible.
Fatih: I’m always one step ahead of you, you know. It’s going to hurt, but nothing is free in this life.
Fatih later is standing with a gun pointed at a man that looks familiar, but I can’t place him. He is bound and gagged in the chair that Husseyn was in earlier. He pleads for his life, but Fatih shoots him. He then tells his men to burn the cabin to ashes. We see that he also drags zombie Elif to the place she was found near the car. Fatih pours gasoline to indicate that she set the fire. He sets things up and then sets a rag on fire and dropping it, setting the cabin on fire.

Episode 136 # 4 of 7
Husseyn is inside on the chair and asks Fatih what his father is up to: Do you want to kill me, Fatih?
Fatih tells him this is just the beginning. Fatih has the axe hidden behind his back. He continues: Bring someone else’s body to replace you, and the operation will be over. Everything is working like clockwork. I also spoke to some men, and they will take you to the clinic.
Husseyn: There’s no problem?
Fatih: This is why we are here, let’s do it.
Husseyn is still in the dark: What will we do now?
Fatih shows his axe. Husseyn’s eyes grow huge.
Fatih reminds him he told him this would hurt.
Husseyn: What do you want to do to me? Don’t touch me, psychopath!
Fatih: We have to convince them of your death. No one can doubt that you’re dead.
We see Nico talking with the doctor, describing this incident.
Nico: Then Mr. Fatih greets him, everything is finished as he wanted. Here.
The doctor gets a suitcase full of money. There is a document inside as well. He reads it. It is the DNA report of the body that was found. Fatih designed it personally so that nothing is missing. He even said that the doctor should take the report and put it in directly in the file. The doctor nods.
Back to the Flashback:
Fatih is still talking: I have Fatih Dundar in the palm of my hand. I tricked him. The death of his best man doesn’t exist.
Husseyn: Well done.
Fatih: It’s better to be here than somewhere else.
Husseyn: Listen to yourself, you sound like your father.
Elif is being brought inside the courthouse in handcuffs. Omer, Pelin, and Arda, are with her.
Suddenly we hear Asli call her name as she runs into the courthouse, followed closely followed by Nilufer. They run up and hug her. Asli asks why she didn’t leave. Next, we get Nedret followed by Levent. The girls tell her they can’t bear it. They wish she had made a run for it. She tells them she just did the right thing. Elif hugs Nedret, who whispers that she will get her out of there. When Levent walks up, Omer’s expression changes. Levent asks how she is doing. She tells him she is OK and thanks him and everyone for coming. Elif tells them not to worry. She says she isn’t worried. Omer is there and will find out what happened that night.
Omer is informed that the judge is ready and Pelin tells her she needs to come with her. Elif bids farewell to everyone and follows the authorities, smiling back at her family. Omer and crew are with her.
Back at the clinic, Fatih is sitting with Husseyn who is sleeping. The door opens and a woman walks in. Fatih tells her it’s now in her hands and to take good care of Husseyn.
He talks to her, a little concerned. He promises the doctor will come twice a day to check on him. Fatih says he tried his best but the situation wasn’t ideal. He asks if she knows when the prosthesis would be ready. Husseyn is up and listening to this now. The nurse tells him it’s too soon to consider something like a prosthesis. Recovery will still take some time; it will be a long process. Fatih nods. Husseyn asks him what’s the hurry: What do you want from me?
Fatih: I’m making an investment in you, and if I invest, it’s to win, not to lose. So, get well!
Fatih starts to walk out of the clinic, but Husseyn calls out to him: Hey, remember you gave me your word. I’ll be waiting for you.
Fatih continues to walk out of the clinic.
Husseyn settles back down in obvious pain.

Back at the courthouse, Omer is pacing outside the hearing room, with Elif’s family and most of his group waiting outside as well.
Nedret: Omer, My condolences. I wish it hadn’t ended that way.
Omer thanks her.
She continues: Can I ask you something? Do you think Elif killed your brother? I imagine not. Or am I wrong?
Omer: Of course not.
Nedret: Well, it was a stupid question on my part. If you weren’t on your family’s side and not helping my niece…
Omer: This was the work of Tayyar Dundar and his men. He will pay for all the crimes he has committed. I will see to that.
Nedret, big sigh: Allah willing.
Omer: I will inform you what will happen with Elif.
Nedret: Omer, I suppose it hasn’t occurred to you to ask yourself a question. Perhaps I can suggest it to you: If I had never met Elif, if I hadn’t been a part of her life, would she have had to go through so much pain as she has lately?
Omer: Ms. Nedret, don’t do this. Don’t cross the line.
He looks at her long and hard and then walks away, Nedret with her usual unpleasant expression.
Asli: Omer, when will we know something?
Omer: Tell me, what is that idiot doing here (Levent)? Who invited him?
Asli: Auntie.
Omer: That doesn’t surprise me. (Nilufer is watching Asli and Omer now.)
Asli: Omer, please tell me something. Do you think they are going to decide that my sister has to go to prison?
Omer: this is a preliminary hearing. The judge has to decide if she will go prison before the trial. So, it really depends on the judge.
Asli: So, there is a possibility that she will go home.
Omer tells her they need to be hopeful.
Asli reminds him of how difficult it was for her in prison for just a few days the last time. She was broken. Asli says she can’t go back to that place. She tells him he needs to protect her. Omer hugs Asli, and Nilufer joins them. She asks what they can do. He tells them Elif will get through this. We have to be strong so she can be strong. She would be devastated if she sees you suffering. OK? Both agree.
Inside the courtroom, the judge is going through the documents. He asks Elif to clarify that she doesn’t remember. Her bloodwork doesn’t show a reason for her not to remember.
Elif assures the judge that she is speaking the truth.
Judge: There’s no clear indication of what occurred, but Elif was found there holding a weapon, and only her finrgerprints were found on the weapon, which was her property.
She tells the judge she does not know why it was in her hands.
The judge brings up the visit she made to Husseyn in prison, in which Husseyn was injured. She explains that she had just found out that he killed her father: I couldn’t control myself. But after that day, I never thought about hurting him again.

Episode 136 #6 of 7
The judge asks if that means the attack with the scissors was premeditated. She had said it was an accident. The judge notices that when she is angered, she has trouble maintaining control. He asks her lawyer if she wants to add any background. Her lawyer says no, but he has three points to make. One, he wants to reiterate that his client is innocent. Two, he also mentions that the police are gathering all the necessary evidence to show that she is innocent. And, third, he wants to remind the judge that his client has a permanent address in the city.
The judge replies that he hopes she doesn’t expect to await trial outside of prison, since she already had purchased a ticket to Rome.
Her lawyer replies that if his client had intended to flee, she would be in Rome right now. But, she is here because she wants the facts to be clarified. She needs the trial in order to prove that she is innocent. So, I request that she be released pending trial.
The judge takes a big breath. He sighs heavily.
Outside in the hall, Omer is still pacing. We hear his lighter flicking. He looks at Levent who looks right back at him. Nilufer goes to Levent and thanks him for accompanying them and worrying about them. He tells her she is welcome. She continues, saying that they really don’t need any tension right now.
He asks what she means by that. He then asks if Omer asked her to do this. He says Omer apparently isn’t brave enough to tell him to his face. She says that’s absurd. All Omer is worried about is Elif. He’d never want to cause us more problems than we already have. I wanted to talk to you because the tension between them is there. It’s affecting everyone. She asks him to listen. She promises that she will call him and keep him informed on all the news regarding Elif. I know you wouldn’t want her to get upset, right?
Levent: Very well, I’m leaving, but let me make it clear I’m doing it for her, not because that imbecile is upset.
Just as Levent leaves, the door to the courtroom opens. Elif comes out with handcuffs on. Her lawyer tells them she will await trial in the prison. Omer asks for how long, and the lawyer replies one month.
Elif: Everything’s going to be alright, Captain. Her sisters are upset but she reassures them that she will be OK.
As she leaves with her guards, Elif asks her aunt to take charge of the company. Nedret also assures her that the real culprit will be caught. Asli asks if she needs anything.
The guards tell the family to step away from the suspect. Asli gets angry.
Everyone watches as Elif heads to the prison. Omer is very impactado. He tells everyone he won’t leave her alone.
Elif looks back as she is walking and sees Omer following. Further behind Omer, we see her sisters crying and Nedret looking concerned.

At Tayyar’s office, he and Mumtaz are talking. Tayyar gives Mumtaz the address where they are holding Elif. Tayyar also writes the name of a woman in the prison who they can get to work for them. He urges him to hurry. Mumtaz asks what he wants from that woman,
Tayyar holding his arms wide, what do I want? Just a quiet life. Some find peace when they retire. Other, like me, find peace in chaos. But I’m getting old, and I’ll have to retire soon. To do so, I need to remove obstacles like Omer and Elif.
Mumtaz: So, what will you do? Will you ask that woman to kill Elif?
Tayyar: You know what, I need, Mumtaz? I need to find someone who will make her brain work. Thinking about everything is too exhausting. Life has given me a son who is ambitious. He wants to inherit the business but he’s a madman and he might betray me. So, I’m alone. I’m forced to rely on idiots like you unfortunately. (Mumtaz looks down at this, and surely he doesn’t like being continually put down in this way.)
Tayyar: Mumtaz, please act as if you had a brain, however difficult it might be for you. Do you think that if Elif is killed in prison, she’s going to stop haunting us?
Mumtaz: I don’t think so, sir.
Tayyar: But I want Elif to be dead. What can I do to make it so? We will force her to commit suicide, you blasted idiot. We’ll make her do it.
Mumtaz nods. Tayyar tells him to get out and go wake up your brain: You might start with a puzzle. Since this is just the beginning, he tells him he still has time to differentiate himself from an animal. Go, and I don’t want to see you for a good long time.
Mumtaz leaves.
Tayyar remains lost in thought.
Out on the road, Arda is driving Omer and Pelin, following the blue gendarmerie van that is carrying Elif to the prison. Arda tells Omer he has talked with the guards so that they will be on the lookout. They will be watching. Arda also mentions that they don’t know what Tayyar might be planning.
Pelin says she can’t believe it. How did they know? We’ve lost Husseyn and Elif is innocent.
Omer tells them she won’t be there for very long.
Arda: Omer, have you decided if you’re going to the funeral?
Pelin tells him they will understand if he doesn’t. Arda tells her he disagrees. He says they have to say goodbye. You need to say goodbye to your brother, despite what he did. You would feel angry for not having said goodbye. If I were in your place, I would also have my doubts. I know that when time passes, not having been there will be a great pain in your heart.
All three are very impactado.

Babachita
Thanks Babachita!
Elif did the right thing turning herself in and Pelo was right in advocating for following procedure. Too bad the judge was still thinking she was a flight risk because someone else bought her a ticket to Rome...
Is Pilar still alive? I can't remember.
And why does anyone know about Elif attacking Huso before? Huso covered for her and it was swept under the rug but now everyone including the judge knows?
Episodes like this remind me that Fatih can't have a HEA with Nilu. He's a murderer and he's not repentant. He didn't hesitate to kill that other man and make it look like Huso. It makes me sad that Nilu is still so in love with him because she IS innocent. It's funny that he chopped Huso's leg off though! I can't help it, that makes me chuckle. He looked so funny in that bed and the one remaining leg looked way too tiny, either that wasn't his real leg or the camera angle was really weird.
Thanks, Babachita! So we see how Fatih got the job done.
You ask some good questions, Darcy. if you mean Pinar, Tayyar's girlfriend, I think she's still alive. We haven't seen her lately. I thought Omer was going to help her escape Tayyar's clutches.
I don't remember how they found out about Elif attacking Huso. Beanie time?
Nilu and Fatih have one of the strangest love stories I've ever seen.
Levent has really become beyond annoying. I like the how Nilu sent him away.
I'll have #137 up tonight.

#137 part 1
Preparations have started for the condolence gathering at the Demir house. Fatma tells Melike not to worry about prep, she will handle everything. Melike says that she wants to keep busy. Oh, he’s gone, she laments, he’ll be put in the ground. This food is for him. I still can’t believe it. I feel like he’ll open the door and ask me, “what’s for dinner?" Now we only have Omer. But he’s forgotten us. He hasn’t even called. Mother will be devastated. He attends the funerals of strangers, but he probably won’t come to his brother’s.
Fatma says, he (Huso) hurt so many people. He sinned against so many innocent people. That Huseyin Demir took my daughter’s life! But I will be there for Elvan Abla. I will hold her hand because when I fell, Elvan Abla never let go of mine. She always stood by me, shared my pain, and supported me. She stayed silent no matter what I said. Now her heart is burning, and I need to be there for her. And hopefully, Omer won’t leave his mother and you heartbroken. He’ll do what’s right.
Everyone arrives at the prison. Omer is anxious to get back to the investigation. Pelo says they are still working on gathering info, phone calls, and cameras near the scene.
Elif is taken out of the van. Omer tells the gendarme to let go of her, she won’t escape. Elif tells him, thank you, I guess you’ll go now. I’ll be alone. Who do you think you’re talking to, Omer replies, I asked the DA for permission, and he’ll let me accompany you. Pelo tells Elif that they will always be there for her. Arda says they will get her out soon.
Omer walks Elif inside. He explains, this is the registry. They will bring you to intake. Please don’t stop eating. You must take care of yourself. Try to remember something, a clue, a smell, a sound. If you remember something, tell me immediately.
Elmer are brought to wait in a room. He promises her he will get her out before the trial. He’ll find evidence or a witness. I know you think it’s impossible, but I want you to trust me. We’ve been through tough times, and this is just one more. We’ll get through it. Be strong. I know, komiser, she replies, but let’s not dwell on it. Let’s make the most of our time. Don’t look at me like that. Show me hope, your hope makes me stronger.
Omer asks if there’s anything he can bring her—design books, novels, drawing materials? Bring me novels, she says, but make sure they have happy endings. And write me letters every day. Omer says, you won’t be with me, but everything will make me think of you. And of course, I will write. He kisses her hand.
The guards enter and the intake starts. Elif has to hand over her belongings. The necklace with the engagement ring, but she’s allowed to keep the ring. She starts to put it in her pocket, but Omer tells her it would make him happy if she wears it. She looks at him.
Elif’s family returns home. Nedret says she has a headache and immediately goes upstairs to rest. Filiz asks if they want something to eat. Asli snaps back, do you think we want to eat something, now? Nilufer asks Asli if she’s planning on going to Huso’s funeral. You must be crazy, Asli answers, how quickly the bad things are forgotten. That man killed our father, do you remember? I know, Nilufer says, but I thought it might help Elif. Maybe the judge will think there’s no malice. That’s not the answer, Asli replies, if you really want to help Elif, you should tell your stupid husband to explain to Omer all the things Tayyar did.
Elif is brought to the cell area. The guard tells Omer, you know the rules, you can’t enter with her. Elif faces Omer, this is the end, Komiser, it’s over. It will never end, Omer replies, we’ll be together because we belong to each other. Elif says, no matter how hard I try to remind you, it won’t be enough.
#137 part2
Elif walks through the entrance, but Omer grabs her. They hold each other’s hands. The guard says it’s against the rules. Elif tells Omer to take care. You also have to eat and sleep well, just like me. I don’t know what will happen to our house but take care of it. I can’t imagine the day I’ll see it again. Omer assures her that nothing will separate them. Never give up, my love. If you show weakness, they can hurt you. Don’t be afraid. When you were detained at the station, it was different. Trust what I say. I’m here and I won’t let anyone hurt you.
I won’t be weak, Elif says, we’ll be separated for a long time, but even so, I know I’m the luckiest person in the world. You must go, your family must be waiting for you. Sometimes we think that if we ignore the pain, we’ll be stronger, but it’s a mistake. You’ve been doing this. Don’t do it anymore. Face it. Say goodbye to your brother. Despite everything he did, he’s still your brother, your dad, your everything. Forget your anger and honor your brother’s memory with compassion.
Omer says, you are a very beautiful person, don’t forget that, okay? You are my forever, Elif replies. Omer hugs her—I love you so much. Engrave that in your heart. I already did. The guard says it’s time to go. Elif walks in and the bars close behind her. He calls her name, she turns to look.
We hear the song Omer sang (with Huseyin) when he proposed to Elif: “Tanrıdan Diledim bu Kadar Dilek”
Omer leaves the prison and checks his phone. Melike is calling.
Elif is brought to her cell. We see two inmates watching her. [they will probably get involved with Elif somehow.] Elif sits on a bunk and takes a photo album out of her bag.
Funeral at the mosque. Family and friends are there. Arda and Pelin turn around to see if Omer is coming. Elvan and Melike stand at the coffin. Elvan cries, Huseyin, my first love, are you leaving and breaking my heart? Melike cries, our fate was badly written. May Allah forgive your sins. I will take care of the children you left behind.
A black van is parked outside the mosque. Huseyin is watching his own funeral! Fatih says, how lucky you are, Huseyin, who gets to see their own funeral? Huso glares, think about who killed me? There is no other guilty one, Fatih replies. Huso says, I’ve already caused enough damage. I didn’t do any good while I was alive, at least let no one be harmed after I die. I’m my own murderer.
Fatih snarks, well, you’re quite a poet. You won’t die from a bullet, but you’re going to waste away from consumption I tell you. Huso cries, Omer didn’t come. Everyone else did. Fatih calls it heartbreaking. I never thought my BIL wouldn’t come, he says.
Mert comes to the funeral and gives condolences to the family. Pelo cries. Arda keeps looking around for Omer. The imam comes and everyone takes their place. Elvan looks to see if Omer has arrived.
The Imam starts. We perform the prayer for the sake of Allah, recite blessings upon the Messenger of Allah, and offer supplication for the deceased. Follow the Imam who is present. Make your intention for the individual and repeat—Allahu Akbar… Allahu Akbar. The peace and mercy of Allah be upon you. (heads turn to the right). The peace and mercy of Allah be upon you. (heads turn to the left).
#137 part 3
Recite Al-Fatiha for the soul of the deceased. The mourners pray silently.
Esteemed Muslim congregation, we ask you to grant your forgiveness (haklarinizi helal etmen) to the deceased for any wrongs he may have committed. Will you forgive him (helal eder misiniz)? No immediate response from the congregation. Omer arrives and gives his loud response—helal olsun! Everyone turns to look. Huseyin cries tears of happiness. Omer! The imam asks again, will you forgive him? Everyone responds—helal olsun! The imam asks a third time, and the response—helal olsun! May Allah accept this forgiveness.
Omer makes his way to the coffin. He and all the pallbearers lift it and carry it out of the yard. As it passes, Hasan cries out—Baba! Melike holds him. Let me go, Hasan shouts, I want to go with my father! Let me go! Elvan laments, I can’t believe this. Is this how you go? How you say goodbye to your mother? Your younger brother will carry you to the grave.
The black van starts to follow the procession. Fatih tells Neco to stop. Huso watches his coffin being carried away. Fatih turns to Huso, here you are, crying. Well then, why did you betray your family, especially your brother? God gave me the punishment I deserve, Huso replies, and it’s a just punishment. Look, I died. I can’t comfort my children. I’ll never hug my brother again. I see my mother crying because her son is gone. They are carrying my corpse. I will disappear. I am dead. I wish I had died. [that could still be arranged.] Fatih squirms a bit. Don’t be so negative, Huseyin. Life also has a kind side.
Huso sees Melike carrying Burhan. My Burhan, you are just a child and you lost your father. What will become of you? You don’t deserve this. I see Melike is caring for you, but I know in the future she will blame you for everything. Huso asks, will I be able to return someday? Fatih turns his head to signify no. Well, then, I have to do something. Burhan will come with me. What are you saying, Fatih replies, Omer will never stop looking for his nephew, don’t you think? I don’t care, Huso answers, Burhan will come with me.
At the cemetery, Omer places the wood planks over the body in the open grave. He says goodbye to his brother. You were like a father to me. Omer deposits the first shovel of dirt in the grave. Arda starts to shovel, too.
We hear Elif’s voiceover while this is happening. She’s writing a letter to Omer. My hope, I wish I could be with you right now, hold your hand. It’s the people you love the most who hurt you the most. It’s a great pain that can kill you. I was angry with my dad for a long time. Until one day you took me to his grave and asked for my hand. That day I was able to reconcile with his memory. I felt like I was little again, and in his arms.
The letter continues: love of my life, you had to live with your brother the same way as I did with my father. I don’t know how long it will take you to forget the pain he caused but I do know that you must put your disappointment aside. Forgive him and feel the love again you have inside for him. Remember that when a person dies, they take with them all the damage they have caused in this world. I don’t know if I have the right, but I forgive Huseyin. At least, you don’t have to worry about what I feel.
Mumtaz visits the person he’s got inside Elif’s cell. Hello yenge, brother couldn’t come but he sent money for your expenses. The guards have it, they will get it to you. We’ve also given your nephew money for your mother. It will last for a year, and she won’t have to depend on anyone. The woman says, don’t worry, your little sparrow is right in front of me. I’m watching her. I’ll break her wings before she flies.
#137 part 4
Good, Mumtaz replies, I’ll give you details at the visits. Keep watching her. She needs to know her place. She needs to know how hard life is in prison. She needs to suffer. The woman says to consider it done. She’ll learn her lesson.
Fatih helps Huso get back in bed. He says, I thought some fresh air would make you feel better, but I see I was wrong. The nurse says Huso needs to eat and take his meds. Huso says he doesn’t want to. Fatih is ticked and warns, listen, you crybaby, eat and drink and don’t make the nurse angry.
The women in Elif’s cell are preparing a meal. Elif is in her bunk, drawing. Tayyar’s newest henchie states, for those who think this is a hotel, starting tomorrow, you’ll have to do all our chores. Did you hear that? Elif gets up and takes the dishes from the woman. She says, don’t worry, I’m not going to eat anything, but I can help.
The woman says, good, I see you understand. It’s clear you don’t fit in here. But let me introduce you to the others. This is Nimet, she chopped up her husband into little pieces. Habibe stabbed her brother-in-law in self-defense. This one is Agirbas Sukran. While robbing a house, she threw the owner out a window. I’m Hande. I got involved in a fight and slit the throats of two idiots who were bothering me. Elif looks impacted but tells Hande, I’m sure they regret it. May Allah save you.
Omer arrives at the station. He’s on the phone with Nilu and asks, how are you? The same as before, she replies, still bad. Omer, I’m sorry that we didn’t attend your brother’s funeral. Omer says, it’s okay, you have your own problems. But crying isn’t an option. It solves nothing. I need your help. I need to see Fatih. But you and Fatih aren’t on good terms, she notes. Omer says he’s one of those pinning the blame on Elif. Nilu says that can’t be. It’s ridiculous.
Omer asks, you know that husband of yours that you think is innocent? He’s playing both sides. Nilu suddenly feels sick and starts gagging. She tells Omer she’ll call him back. She rushes to the bathroom and vomits. [uh oh, does that mean…?]
Tolga is surprised to see Omer at the station. He thought he’d go home after the funeral. I have to work, Omer says, I don’t have time to rest. I don’t plan to sleep until I get Elif out.
Elif helps serve the meal, then she goes back to her bunk. Hande glares at Elif. Another inmate, I don’t know the name, asks Hande what’s wrong. Why are you treating her (Elif) badly? What did she do to you? She seems nice. Hande says, I don’t care. The issue is something else. She’s our lottery ticket. This princess is bothering very important people. Understand? If we do what they tell us, they’ll reward us. The woman doesn’t want to get involved. Hande tells her to shut up. I can’t do this job alone. I need help. The woman looks worried.
Omer and co are looking for cameras near the pink house. Seems the cameras magically stopped working at a critical time.
Nilu calls Fatih. What kind of man are you? How could you deceive me again? Do you have anything to do with my sister being in jail? Answer yes or no! Fatih lies, calm down. I have nothing to do with this. Your sister went crazy and burned that man. Nilu shouts, don’t lie! We both know you’d be capable of doing something like this! Please be honest. Are you on the same side as Omer and me or are you on Tayyar’s side? Fatih replies, I’ll always be on your side. You should believe your man. They are putting ideas in your head. You’re getting confused. I’m always on your side. I swear. We see that Tayyar is listening in on this call. He nods and seems to have doubts about Fatih.
#137 part 5
Omer is pissed. The camera footage was deleted. We are back to the beginning. Traitors appear again. We have to find out who the infiltrator is. Arda says they’ll handle it like last time. Tolga comes in with
Elif’s phone transcripts. There was a message from Huseyin. He asks to see her to explain why he did what he did. There would be a car waiting for her outside the house. Arda points out that the phone number isn’t Huso’s. Omer orders Tolga to investigate the phone number.
Arda wonders how they got Elif to the cabin. Omer thinks they kidnapped her from the house and that’s why the footage was deleted. Omer wants to find Fatih and make him talk. He heads out.
Nilu goes to a doctor. She tells the doc she’s been feeling tired. The doc wants to run some tests.
Elif is drawing a picture of Omer, when she gets called by a guard. She has a visitor. Elif leaves and Hande continues to work on that woman to get her to help. The woman resists. Hande keeps tempting her with the prospect of making money. It would help your mother. Her illness must be getting worse. She needs treatment. But if you’re not interested….
The woman stops Hande from walking away. She says, the reason I’m here was to help my mother. But you weren’t successful, Hande notes, so all you did was in vain. If you help me, you won’t have come here for nothing. The woman asks, no one will get hurt, right? Hande assures her. [yeah, right.] We’ll do what we’re told and after that, the money is ours.
And we are out.
Thanks, Dondi!
Yes, I meant Pinar! I remember Omer was helping her escape but just like I thought Tayyar would have found Elif in Rome, I wondered if Tayyar found Pinar where she went. I don't remember any scenes that told us he did, so maybe she's safe.
Huso going to his own funeral in the black van that screams 'Tayyar is here!' is a beanie moment. That van is a neon sign!!! They should have at least sent him in a different vehicle. I don't know if Melike would go back to blaming Burhan or not, but I can't think he'd be better off with Huso. Melike should meet a nice actually good man and forget all about Huso and bitterness and live happily ever after! She's a good person and deserves it.
Nilu is leaving the doctor’s office and is not thrilled to run into Omer.
Omer: Ah, don't waste my time.
Nilu: I'm not wasting your time. Now leave me alone.
Omer: Are you aware that your sister is the one in prison?
Nilu: and you think I don't care? Do you think I'm happy then, just walking around here as if nothing happened? I don't want to keep listening to you,
Omer: Nilüfer. Only because I promised your sister, I haven't involved you in this, but your dear husband is nowhere to be found, and I want to ask him a few questions. Let's walk a little, let me tell you what happened. You'll change your mind after hearing me out.
Nilu: Okay. Let's talk.
Nilu and Omer begin to walk along the waterfront.
Omer: They sent her a message in my brother's name. It said he wanted to tell her why he killed her father before leaving the country. Of course it's a trap of Tayyar, do you think Fatih didn’t know about it? Do you think that's possible? It makes no sense. Let's sit down. I think your beloved husband is involved in this.
Nilu: No, no way. Fatih couldn't be involved. There must be some explanation for all this.
Omer: Seriously? Are you that naive?
Nilu: If Fatih promises something, he keeps his word! You two had a deal. He told me many times that the only thing he wanted was to put his father in prison.
Omer: He’s your husband, and you trust him. I understand, I also wanted to trust him, but he is hiding.
Nilu: You misunderstood. Why would Fatih hide from you?
Omer: Because he is hiding something from me. I need to find Fatih. You are going to help me. It's for the good of your sister. You are only thinking about yourself.
Nilu: What is wrong with you, Omer? I am married to him. Can't you understand that? You aren't even sure if he did it. I can't betray my husband again.
Omer: Look, I don't care about your relationship with that man, nor the fact that you love the guy who pinned this crime on your sister's back. I'm going to get to Fatih by any means necessary, and you are going to help me with that, understood? Now call him. Do it. Tell him you want to see him, or whatever. This is very important. Nilüfer, do this for the good of Elif. Call him. Call him. What are you waiting for? Call him, you're his wife.
At the warehouse hospital, Fatih’s man hands him the phone and says it’s his wife.
Fatih: Hello, princess. What happened now?
Nilu: No, nothing.
Fatih: Well then, don't call me so often. I told you, don't call me.
Nilu: I... the thing is, I need to see you. Let me see that everything is okay. Please come see me.
Fatih: Listen to me carefully, princess. How about tomorrow at 8 at our hotel? Is that okay? Very well. Are you okay?
Nilu: Yes, of course.
Fatih: It's just that you don't sound very convincing.
Nilu: It must be because of Elif.
Fatih: Okay. Look, tomorrow I'll be there and I will heal your wounds.
Nilu: Very well, 8 o'clock sharp tomorrow.
Nilu hangs up and turns to Omer: There you go. Happy?
Omer: No, couldn't you have met today?
Nilu: Omer, if I had insisted, he would have gotten suspicious.
Omer: You could have convinced him, but you didn't.
Nilu: I'm leaving my husband in your hands again. Please, don't complicate things.
Omer: Nilüfer, I feel sorry for you. I even understand your situation, but understand this: you are Tayyar's weakness against Fatih. His open wound. Just as his father is his deep wound, understand that. See you later.
Levent goes to visit Elif in jail.
Levent: Hello, Elif.
Elif: Hello, Levent, how are you?
Levent: Not too bad. I know I'm the last person you want to see. I promise I won't take up much of your time, but I need to talk to you.
Elif: What do you want to tell me?
Levent: I don't want you to think that I've abandoned you, especially not at this moment, but I brought you my resignation. I made the decision to leave Istanbul.
Omer calls Arda to ask if there is any news. Was Tolga able to find out whose number it was from the message? Arda says yes, but it's the technique they always use. The number belongs to an old man who recently passed away. Omer thinks they should check the cabin one more time; maybe there's something they're overlooking. And then they can think about the guys from the organization who want to close the files. Arda says don't worry, Omer, we will go and look with Pelin. He tells Omer he’s had a hard day and he needs to rest. Tomorrow morning they'll meet up regarding Fatih. Omer agrees but I doubt he’ll just go rest.
Back to Elif and Levent and as much as I wish he’d just say bye and leave, he has a bomb to drop so I’ll report his conversation in detail.
Elif: Goodbye. Why, Levent? The company needs you, and you are an important part of its progress.
Levent: Don't worry, I will hand over my work to your aunt. I know some professional friends; I will recommend them. While the position is vacant, I will help her. I want you to stay calm. Believe me, I did everything I could. I gave up many things, but I couldn't win you. And that was what I wanted the most. You made a decision, I respect and understand it, but let's not talk about now. It makes no sense. I know, all the things I've done, admitting that I was in love with you, everything that happened at your house that night... I bothered you quite a bit, and we also lost our friendship.
Elif: Don't say that, please,
Levent: Elif. Listen. Listen to me for the last time. Since I'm leaving your life, I want you to know something else, because you won't see me again. I will now follow my own path.
Elif: Levent, what happened? Why are you telling me this?
Levent: You don't know how much I love you.
Elif: Let's leave this conversation here. I hope you are happy.
Levent: Elif, do you know why you could never love me? Because it all started with a lie. Do you remember that Bahar had a lover? That was me. Bahar and I made a plan we were going to rob you.
Elif: Bahar was my best friend. Why are you saying that?
Levent: Bahar always used the affection you had for her, and I took advantage of that. She got me into the company because she knew you very well. She always gave me hints, and I was supposed to make you fall in love with me to find the diamonds you were hiding, to then build a life with Bahar.
Elif: That's not true! I don't believe you.
Levent: I'm so sorry, Elif, but believe me. Afterward, everything changed, because the love I feel for you is intense.
Omer is also at the prison and the guard tells him that unfortunately, the prosecutor has already left. Omer says no problem, I want to see my girlfriend anyway. The guard says Elif is with a visitor and he’ll have to wait a moment there. Omer wonders, who could that visitor be?
Elif is beside herself: I don't know if you realize that I'm in prison, I'm already alone. Why are you telling me all these things about Bahar? Why? Tell me!
Levent: Because I can't take it anymore, and you need to know everything.
Elif: Sometimes it's better not to know certain things.
Levent: It's always better to know the truth. You should know the people around you very well, Elif. Your aunt, and me…
Levent is interrupted at exactly the wrong time by the arrival of Omer who apparently didn’t wait for Elif’s visit to be over. Levent tells Elif he hopes she gets out as soon as possible. He says goodbye and turns to leave. Omer looks at Elif’s distraught face and follows Levent saying he sure is brave. How dare you visit my girlfriend? How many times have I told you to stay away from her? You won, Omer, Levent says. I'm leaving now before you keep fighting with me. Go support her. Omer lets him go, but says don't you dare come back here.
Omer goes back into the visitor’s room and finds Elif frozen the way he last saw her. He picks up the phone and she manages to put her phone back to her ear.
Omer: Hello, my love.
Elif: Why are people like this? Why do they betray us? Why do they stab us in the back?
Omer: What happened? Is it because of him? Is it because that idiot came here to bother you? Did he tell you something?
Elif: If only you could hug me, just one hug.
Melike has gathered all of Hüseyin's things. She needs to get them out of this house so they can be in peace. She asks Elvan if she wants to keep anything but she says no. It's better to give them to those who need them most. They could make someone happy. Melike, pauses and kneels down in front of Elvan.
Melike: Mother, I know it's not the best time to tell you, but while you weren't here we received a late electricity notice. It's a significant amount, very significant. So far, it's 1000 liras. Demet got fired, and I can't ask Omer for money. He has his expenses, and it's not certain if they will authorize us to collect Hüseyin's salary. All we have left is your pension, and we spent too much on the funeral and the hospital. Honestly, I don't know what to do anymore.
Elvan: We still have my gold, my daughter.
Melike: Mother, we only have two ordinary bracelets left. And that, with luck, would be enough for a month maximum. There are many mouths to feed. I must ensure the well-being of my children, and if I get a job...
Elvan: Let's leave that topic for later, daughter. It's not the right time to talk about that. First, let's recover.
Melike: Oh, okay, mother.
Omer and Elif are still talking and it appears Elif has told him about Bahar. Omer says he knew Bahar wasn't a trustworthy person, but is she sure Bahar was capable of that? Elif says she was like a sister to me, one of the people I trusted the most. Omer reminds her that she herself said it makes no sense to argue with people who are already gone. Elif asks if he said goodbye to Huso? Did he go to the funeral? Omer says yes and Elif is sorry she wasn't there. Now she knows how wonderful it is to hug the people you love and wipe their tears. That's something she’s learned in this place. Omer tells her they found the message she received. Huso sent her the message. He said that before leaving the country, he would tell her the reasons why he killed her father. That's what it said, and since Huso didn't have a phone, they will never know if it was really him who sent the message, and the number is connected to a fake identity. Does that message make Elif remember anything? Elif looks upset and Omer quickly tries to calm her. It's okay. Tomorrow she will meet with the psychiatrist. He will talk to her. Maybe he'll succeed where we have failed. Elif hopes so.
Omer changes topics, what's it like inside? Are they treating her well? Elif says everything is fine. They seem like good people. The guard comes and gives Elmer bad news, ‘Captain Omer, you have to leave now,’ She yells out. Omer has more bad news for Elif. He won't be able to come tomorrow. The prosecutor has the day off and tomorrow is not visiting day. Elif understands. At least she got to see him today, but it's not enough. He misses her. Elif says next time, come with my sisters. I miss them a lot. And the hits keep coming, Nilu and Asli can’t come until next week, but Omer will get a special permit to see her. Does that mean Elif won’t be able to see anyone for a week... unfortunately. But it will go by very fast, so she shouldn’t worry. Elif bravely says it's okay. She'll get used to it. They have to do it. Omer repeats that before the first hearing, he will find a clue, he promises. Elif knows. She knows he will keep his promise. The guard tries again ‘Captain, please...’ Elmer say a sweet and sad goodbye.
Elif goes sadly back to her cell and Omer alone to their house, thinking of and missing Elif. He holds it together for a bit and then starts smashing dishes instead of washing them. He ends up in bed hugging Elif’s robe and looking to her pillow. Elif lies in bed looking at her ring, she puts it on.
The next morning Arda and Pelo arrive at Omer’s and comment how it was a good idea to bring the spare key since Omer seems like he's sleeping. Pelo notices the smashed dishes still on the floor in the kitchen and tells Arda they shouldn’t leave Omer alone for too long. Pelo heads to the kitchen and says they should clean up before Omer wakes up. Arda says to be careful, Pelo should take the food and prepare something for them all to eat together. Arda will clean up this mess. Pelo hesitates, she’s wanted to ask Arda something since yesterday, but she’s been afraid to do so. Does he forgive her? Arda says of course, absolutely. Pelo points out Arda got mad, and he admits it but acknowledges she did what she had to do as a police officer. They just have different points of view. In the end, it turned out exactly how Pelo thought it would. Pelo confesses it was really difficult when they went to drop Elif off at the prison, it was really terrible. She almost couldn't bear it. Elif doesn't deserve to be there. Arda says we'll get her out, don't worry. Pelo says it's good that you are so positive. Yesterday I was very scared because we have nothing in our favor. The only thing we've found is the message. Suddenly a not asleep Omer is right there and he says they’ll find something else, they will never give up. They have to keep trying. He doesn't want to spend another night without Elif. He gestures to the floor, as you can see, this is too much for me. Pelo says don't worry, we'll clean everything up. Arda clarifies, now we're going to have breakfast and then we'll work. Pelin will serve, and I'll take care of cleaning this. We brought you something to eat with the tea. Omer says tea will be enough.
Elif is cleaning up in the bathroom with her cellmates, she’d shocked by the cold temp of the water and Tayyar’s little flunky speaks up: What happened? Too cold, little princess? Of course, you must be used to bathing in milk, a real Cleopatra. You better get used to it, because the water chills you to the bone, but it's better, it fixes your complexion and wakes you up.’ Elif simply says thank you, have a good day. (This was funny)
Asli and Nilu are sharing a bed again. Nilu is already awake and Asli sits up.
Asli: You didn't stop moving all night.
Nilu: I couldn't sleep.
Asli: Do you think he woke up already?
Cann enters: Good morning, mom. Jul will prepare breakfast for you. I have to go. If you see my aunt, give her a kiss for me.
Asli gets up and goes to kiss Cann: Okay, go, I'll catch up with you.
Asli: Nilüfer. Do you know which book Elif was reading?
Nilu: No, but it must be on her nightstand. Why?
Asli: I want to read it. I want to know what kind of things fed my sister's dreams, and then I will take it to her so we can discuss it together. We used to do that when we were little girls.
Asli goes to look in the nightstand and notices the gun isn’t there.
Asli: The gun was right here.
Nilu: That's right.
Asli: I wish we had thrown that gun away. Look what happened to us because of it. I still can't understand it, Nilüfer. How was she able to use that gun? Omer still can't even understand it either. Doesn't it strike you as strange as well?
Nilu’s eyes go wide and she remembers telling Fatih about the gun. "I'll also send you a gun." "It's not necessary, we have a gun at home." "If it's in the safe, you won't be able to use it." "The thing is, it's not there. Elif has it in her room, next to her bed." "Don't say! Look at my sister-in-law, taking charge of the home's security." She also remembers Fatih coming to Elif’s room that day. "My love, I just saw your message. But why did you go to her room first? Weren't you supposed to drop by mine beforehand?" "I was trying to avoid your crazy aunt and the security cameras right here." Nilu is IMPACTADA!!!
Tayyar’s plant is still trying to bug Elif with her little buddies help but Elif isn’t taking the bait. She also isn’t eating. But Omer isn’t either. Arda gets off the phone with Tolga. Tolga's been watching Tayyar Dundar's house since yesterday. Fatih hasn't shown up over there. Omer hopes Nilüfer hasn't changed her mind. If she has, he won't be able to see him. Pelo excuses herself to clear the table. She and Arda have to leave. Omer asks where they are going and Arda says to the crime scene. They want to check it out again. Something doesn't add up. They asked the boss to come with them and he said he's very busy, but Arda thinks he will go. Omer hopes so. He says please keep me informed, I have to go. Thanks for your help.
The harpy in the cell with Elif says to her reluctant friend: today the little princess is going to meet with the shrink.
Friend: And how do you know that?
Harpy: Hey, haven't you realized? I have always been the sultana of this place. Be very afraid of me.
The guard comes and says Elif has a visitor. And the harpy mouths off: But they just came to see her yesterday! Is she a prostitute having to attend to her clients? This isn't fair at all. I want the same for myself.
The guard says to pipe down and stay in her place. This was ordered by the judge; she is going to see a doctor.
Nilu rushes over to Omer’s car and gets in.
Nilu: Hello.
Omer: Hello, good morning. Are you okay?
Nilu: Yes.
Omer: Your face says otherwise.
Nilu: I slept very badly, I'm tired. That's all.
Omer: Did you talk to him again?
Nilu: No, but I can do it. (She calls Fatih) Good morning, Fatih.
Fatih: Good morning, my princess.
Nilu: Are we going to see each other, or did you change your mind?
Fatih: Of course not, princess. How could you think I'd change my mind? I am burning with desire to see you. I will arrive soon, go to the hotel.
Nilu: Alright, see you. He is going to the hotel. He told me to wait for him.
Nilu says nothing else, but Omer is looking at her closely. Her attitude isn’t escaping his notice.
Elif goes to the infirmary to meet the doctor and I’m immediately wondering if he’s one of Tayyar’s guys. I’m thinking it’s a possibility because the harpy knew about the doctor’s visit before the guard told her. The doctor asks the guard if she’s going to stay in the corner of the room and the guard says it's the regulations. Doc understands, but he argues that in order to help the young lady, he needs to be alone with her. The session is crucial to provide background to the court and he has to help her remember certain things. Could you leave us alone, please? The guard says she’ll leave, but he'll have to answer to the director. Guard leaves and the doctor says very well, we can begin. Elif asks if he’s seen any cases like hers before? Yes, I've seen many, he answers. And has anyone remembered anything. Elif asks. All the cases I have treated up to this point have had very satisfactory results, he assures her. Elif is very glad to hear that. She’s ready and I’m even more suspicious!!
The doctor is checking on Huso’s leg and he’s recovering. Huso sees two prosthetics on a shelf and asks if one is for him. The doctor says yes, they will choose which is better for him. This gives Huso hope, he needs to walk soon! The doc says they are still a couple months away, just preparing. Huso goes full aggressive at that thought, proving he’s not a repentant man. He threatens to kill the doctor if he doesn’t get him walking soon. He can’t stand to spend more time with Fatih! One day he wants to help but tomorrow he might want to kill him.
Omer brings Nilu to the hotel and lets her out: I will drop you off here.
Nilu: Here?
Omer: I'm sure he spoke to the hotel employees. If we arrived together, they are going to tell him. You go in through the main door, and I will go in through the other side. Okay, make everything look natural, alright? Do not make him suspicious.
Elif talks with the doctor.
Elif: I don't know why, but I can't remember anything that happened that night. I feel as if my mind is playing tricks on me.
Doctor: According to the test results, you were clean. I mean, there were no drugs in your blood; you were not under the influence of any drugs. So, some traumatic episodes can cause amnesia. It is very common for it to happen when a violent death is witnessed or caused. Our brain creates this defense mechanism.
Elif: So, you're saying that I killed him, and that's why I can't remember it?
Doc: Miss Elif, that is a very premature conclusion. For now, we need to get you to remember, and for that, the first thing you have to do is be honest with yourself. You tend to think that this is all a conspiracy against you. You've only looked at it from that angle.
Elif: I don't think I am capable of killing him. I am not a heartless person.
Doc: Listen, Miss Elif. Thinking that way, you are only closing off options to convince yourself that what you want to have happened actually happened. If you really want to discover the truth, you must be open to all possibilities. What you assume might have happened sounds more like the plot of an action movie. It's very unlikely for something like that to happen. Besides, let's not forget you had already attacked him before. You are so afraid to admit you could have killed him that you prefer to erase the option. That won't be of much help to you.
Elif: Look, I want them to run another test on me. There must be an error in the results.
Doc: We all have to assume our responsibilities and also pay for our mistakes. Once you understand it that way, you will be able to see that your stay here is something fair. So, the sooner you accept it, the better it will be for you.
I hate when good guys are in jail and inmates on the take are plotting against them. I hope the reluctant one turns on the baddie. Elif has planned for this time because she brought a journal and sketch pad. She is nice to the group and cheerfully cooks for them. That makes me think her head is in a better place than previously where she was in a creepy solitary cell. But these girls want to drive her to suicide.
I hope her doc is on the level. I wish they would look for syringe needle marks. But it might be too late to find them.
Fatih or maybe it was Husseyn referenced the famous scene of the deceased visiting the funeral of Tom Sawyer. That’s a classic. This one was some humor for us. I agree someone should have spotted the van.
Next week we get into the 140’s. Moving along! I’m ready to be done but will also miss it. What a great yarn!!!
