Kassandra Doesn't Miss a Beat but is Foiled . . . For Now
Joaquín and Kassandra meet with the kids, Claudia and Carmen. Joaquín says that they all know that he and Kassandra have been together for a while and that she has moved in with them. None of the kids look happy and are out of there. Kassandra takes it in stride.

Isaura calls her daughter. Kassandra says she has made herself at home. Her first target will be the most fragile of the Miranda kids: Dani. She saw her talking to this kid Ramón on a video call. Isaura hopes they can count on him. Kassandra expects no problems with him with what she is planning on paying him. She hopes that she can destabilize Dani enough so she needs to get some "rest" at a mental health clinic.

Kassandra overhears Vale making plans to have Eleazar give her some motorcycle race training. She reminds Vale that her godfather has prohibited her from doing that. Vale does the usual kid thing and asks her not to say anything and tries to explain how important riding is to her. Rather than trying to say no but still being understanding, Kassandra hits the hard line and says it is NOT her decision. She and her siblings need some structure in their lives. She doesn't need freedom but discipline. While Kassandra is living there, things will be done the right way. Vero hears Kassandra's tone of voice and comes to Vale's aid. She tells Kassandra that she will not talk to Vale that way unless she wants to get into it with her. Vale smiles. Kassandra asks if she is threatening her. Vero says it is a "suggestion" but she is serious. When it becomes clear that Vero could be the object of retaliation by Kassandra, Vale apologizes to her and says that she will not be going motorcycle riding. It is clear that Vale appreciates Vero's defense of her.

It turns out that Dani met Ramón at the abductee group once upon a time, so when he video calls her and offers her help in finding some sign of her parents, she trusts him. He comes to the house and Dani sneaks him into her room. When he says he needs to use the bathroom, she directs him downstairs. He makes a side trip into Joaquín's office and starts looking for valuables to steal. Joaquín catches him and when he starts to throw him out of the house, Ramón draws a knife. Joaquín tries to calm him down and make him drop the knife. He easily escapes when all eyes turn to Kassandra pretending to be weak from the shock of the situation. Joaquín intends to make a police report.

After Dani's misadventure, Kassandra thinks that she should be punished as an example. Vero thinks that things like that can be better solved by love. Carmen actually agrees with Vero. Joaquín ends up talking to Dani about the dangers on the internet and even meeting with people in groups. You have to be careful He makes a point of telling her that she can always talk to him and teaching him what she knows. The best solution for safety in the family is for everyone to tell everyone else what is going on with them.

Kassandra, disguised in a head scarf and sun glasses being incognito(okay but she didn't cover her décolleté LOL), meets with Ramón later. It looks like he is out of luck for having messed up his

Yaneli is In!
Vero and Consuelo tell Yaneli all about why Vero is doing what she is doing. Yaneli can not believe that fancy-schmancy Vale is her daughter. She thinks this is all beginning to sound like one of those grand Turkish telenovelas. She agrees to keep the secret so as to not increase the chance of Vero losing her daughter.

Diego Pushes His Luck
Diego continues to be rude to Joaquín. He is upset that Kassandra is just moving in without the children being consulted. Vale tells him that it is Joaquín's house, too. Claudia reminds him that but for Joaquín they would be in an orphanage. Vale asks Diego if he is looking to spit up the family. It seems that he doesn't know what he wants.

Diego talks Claudia into sleeping with him over night. In the past when his parents were alive, she would always stay with Vale but his parents are no longer there . . . Joaquín sees her leaving Diego's room in the morning and addresses the issue with him. He is disrespecting the house. His sisters can see it all. Diego sees no difference with what he is doing and what Joaquín is doing turning their house into a cheap hotel. Joaquín almost slaps him as he tells him to SHUT UP!! . . . but controls himself. He takes a deep breath and clarifies that he is asking that Diego respects the norms of the household. He is only 17. Diego says he has nothing to talk about with him. He did his talking with his father when he was alive. He also tells him that he is going to finish prep school but on the open campus plan whether Joaquín likes it or not. (surprised he didn't stick out his tongue) Later, he tells Claudia that he is going to talk to Joaquín. She tells him to keep his temper under control. He promises nothing.

Obnoxious Olga
Olga is driving everybody crazy. (somebody needs to grab that fan of hers)She gets Romina on the side and wants to know the low down on Iván. She seems to want to know if he is seeing anyone. Romina doesn't think he is. Olga likes competition because she always wins.

Iván is sick of Olga leaving all of her stuff over the living room that is her current bedroom. She calls him a grumpy old man. He accuses her of stealing the final years of his youth. She laughs saying nobody can rob him of what he lost years ago. Their arguing gets louder and louder.Majo comes downstairs and tells them she has had enough of them. She leaves for work.

Olga turns up at the snack bar wanting to talk to Majo. Majo reminds her she left Spain to get away from her and now she has popped up here getting involved in everything. Majo cannot sit and chat. She is working.

Industrial Espionage
Marcos is curious. It seems that the plans for the new motorcycle have been done for a while. Should they not be proceeding to the next step (like production? I ask) since Joaquín has approved everything. Facundo is clearly slow walking the process. He explains to Marcos that he would rather that they take their time and refine everything rather than missing something and getting publicly criticized for it.

Later, Facundo talks to Mario saying he is doing his best to slow down their motorcycle release. Marcos is starting to get suspicious. Mario needs one more day. He has to release his motorcycle first so he can grab all of the sponsors and the attention of the press. The quality really doesn't matter only being first does. He needs one more leak of info from Facundo and his role in this will be over. Facundo only wants what Mario originally promised him.

Everything Else
-Kassandra wakes up and notices that Joaquín did not sleep in his bed with her. It turns out he slept in his office. (Uh oh . . .)

-Hugo warns Eleazar that he better not hurt Vale or he will have to deal with him. (sounds like a big brother) Eleazar says he has fallen in love with Vale so Hugo can relax.

-At an after school reading club, Meli and Alexa become "friends" and work on a project together.

-Aurelio "just" happens to be in the park when Isaura sprains her ankle during tai chi. (I wonder if he hangs out there to watch her) He offers to help her get home. She accepts and limps off as he supports her.

What a welcome Kassandra had. Blank stares and silence. Welcome to the family - NOT! But honestly, did Joaquin think the reaction would be any different?? Even he doesn't really like her!

"Olga is driving everybody crazy. (somebody needs to grab that fan of hers)" had me laughing away; so very true! She is quite the chatterbox and a very opinionated one at that! It seems unfathomable she and Ivan ever coexisted. The second she darkened the door she immediately wore out her welcome; both Ivan and Majo ready for her to vacate the premises ASAP! I was a bit surprised that Marcos still seems to be impressed with her. I'm even more flummoxed Romina seems to be pining after Ivan a bit. Confounding. ☹

Thanks Jarifa, that was a great read. Marcas might be the one to save the day. And now we know why Facundo was procrastinating on the design. I guess Joaquin hired the wrong guy to be in charge.

Kassandra is worse than I feared. She didn’t realize that by being mean to Vale she was bringing out the mom in Vero. But I think Vero will be like that with all the kids. And planning to get Dani so bad that she gets put in a mental institution. That is bad. I can’t wait until she and Facundo get what’s coming to them.

Hopefully Alexa and Meli will become good friends and Flores won’t get any information. But Alexa wants those concert tickets.

Diego continues to be annoying. It seems he’s back with Claudia and has her in his bed. Hopefully they just slept, although a pregnancy wouldn’t surprise me. Hopefully he just pushed her away because of his grief, but I feel he really was attracted to Margo.

Uh oh. I only saw half of last night' s episode. Did anything interesting happen in the second half? I saw Grecia schooling Gina ( Eliza Doolittle) on how to act in polite society.. I saw Emma smack Gina a good one for being in Sofie's studio. It looked like Gina was reading pages that Sofia wrote . I also saw her drag tiny Emma,out of the room . Also, Gina was up high in a.loft bedroom throwing feathers from a pillow on Franco below . Wow....the writers are going crazy with this character. Lots of Gina . susan

I don’t remember what happened when, but Carlo convinced Barbi to submit to marital relations and then wasn’t up to the job. Barbi told Monique, who then announced it in front of the whole class. Rex was like, with friends like that, who needs enemies?

I really feel sorry for Carlo. He’s doing the best he can, and as far as I can tell he’s about the only one who isn’t lying to everybody.

Olga and her shrill voice and odd comments is like of a pre anvil for Ivan !!! She was very annoying and just weird. Poor Majo.
Kass is pure evil. I wish Carmen would open her eyes and catch her being her true self.
Claudia is so happy to be back with Diego snuggling in his bed, but what teenage boy can be content with just checking in bed ??? Susan

Diana, yes, where is Nuria ? I am hopeful that she will be a positive force for good because we need some relief from all the villains winning constantly.

I still think that Marcos is observing Facundo and hopefully at some point , he will talk to Joachim about what he thinks Facundo is up to. Also,I hope that Ivan finally becomes His brother's ally. Susan

I'm so glad Vero and Consuelo told Yaneli the truth. Now they need to tell Romina.

My favorite scene was mama Vero facing off with Kass about Vale.

Olga is a pain, but I get a kick out of trying to decipher her Spanish accent. She seems to truly like Romina, so I'm wondering if she'll help her try modeling again. Romina needs a "thing." Everybody's got something except her.

Susan, "Kass is pure evil. I wish Carmen would open her eyes and catch her being her true self." Carmen seems to somehow be taken with Kassandra. I do not get it at all.

Niecie, "Olga is a pain, but I get a kick out of trying to decipher her Spanish accent." I appreciate that they bother to have different characters from different countries sound like a native of that country.

Notes from the Couch The "Whatever Sticks to the Wall "edition

Another loaded episode. Let's start at the very end.

The Deed is Done
Early in the episode, Joaquín has summoned Facundo to his office. He wants to know why there is such a delay in the production of their new motorcycle. Facundo says they are giving it the time it deserves. Joaquín informs him he needs it on the market ASAP. He needs the proceeds to finance some other items. Facundo says they will get it done and he will go pressure Marcos.

At the end of the episode, Marcos finds an article on a website about a brand new revolutionary motorcycle that was just launched by the Nolivos company. He calls Joaquín at home. Joaquín finds the article and is horrified and cannot believe that somebody has manufactured his motorcycle.

At the shop, Marcos Hugo, Eleazar and Facundo cannot believe what they are seeing. Facundo tells them to take it easy and HE will look over the Nolivos release. Marcos informs him he has already done that.. Facundo reminds him HE is THE mechanical engineer. Marcos tells him it is exactly the same as theirs point by point. Facundo concludes that somebody betrayed them. Marcos gets in his face and asks if he is saying it was him.

Joaquín tells Vero the Nolivos motorcycle is identical to his. That sounds like Industrial espionage to her. He is surprised she would know that term (really?) She says she learned it from a previous employer. This is a disaster for Joaquín because he was planning on using the income from the new motorcycle sales to pay off Luis' debt. Vero asks him what she can do to help. She will do whatever he needs to help him. He tells her that her just being there helps a lot. He needs her near him. .

Ding Dong INTERPOL Calling
After a couple of rounds of annoying each other. Olga and Iván enjoy a MEAT supper since Majo has to work. They have filet as she tries to convince him to take a trip to Alaska with her. He asks her what she is hiding. He suggests she go travel and leave him alone with Majo. Next, she wants to play spa and decides to give her and Iván a facial. He resists at first but then gives in. After she has applied the Dead Sea mud treatment all over his face, he reads on the bottle it is for use on the body but not the face. It looks like he is breaking out in a rash when the doorbell rings. It is an official from the prosecutor's office with another official and several police officers. He explains to Iván that they are working in tandem with INTERPOL and they have an arrest warrant for Olga
for International crimes committed in Spain and Mexico. She comes to the door with a rash on her face, too, only to find out she is being arrested.

Isaura: Another Day, Another Plot
Isaura has Aurelio take to her to Joaquín's house where her daughter is staying. She refuses any ice for her ankle saying ice burns her. When Joaquín and Kassandra finally come home, they call a doctor who makes a house call.. The doctor says she has a sprained ankle. Later, we find out that there is nothing wrong with her ankle and that she must have payed the doctor off to give that diagnosis. The point is that Joaquín has welcomed her to stay at the house until her ankle is better.
 

TAN CERCA DE TI Part 2

Kassandra tells her mother that getting rid of the brats is going to be harder than what she thought.

When Vero sees Aurelio at the house, she disappears and tells Carmen that she went to the market to pick up some produce. Carmen wants to know why she doesn't have any purchases when she returns. Vero says she followed Carmen's instructions and felt and smelled all the fruits and vegetables and they were not worth buying so she didn't!

Isaura plays poker with Meli and Meli wins the first hand.

Dani
Dani comes to the office and decides to help out Romina. While she is there , she apologizes again to Joaquín about Ramón and says how she would have just died if anything had happened to him . He tells her that the important thing is that she learned a lesson. She also has a heartfelt talk with Joaquín about her parents. Going to the abductee group made her miss them less. Joaquín tells her how much he cares about her, how he wants to protect her and take care of her. He doesn't think she is crazy. He knows she misses her parents a lot. She admits that she doesn't want them to be dead. She wants them to come back. He tells her it is normal to feel the way she does. He hugs her and they both cry. He thinks that being together with her family and all the love they have for each other can make dealing with the pain just a bit easier. He tells her that Diego is just like her father when he gets angry. Meli is also like her father when it comes to being super-organized and she Dani is identical to her mother. They are like two drops of water. She wants to believe her parents can come back. Joaquín tells her she has no idea how he understands her. Later, she mentions that she wants to come back and help Romina some more. Joaquín tells her she can come as much as she wants to.

Diego
Diego goes to talk to Joaquín at his office. He has all of the forms forJoaquín to sign so he can finish prep school in the open campus format. Joaquín says he will talk to the social worker and if she approves, he will sign. He makes Diego agree that he will attend in person if the social worker does not give her approval. Diego also wants to work everyday. Joaquín is in favor of that idea and tells Diego he will have a set schedule like everyone else who works there. Diego is up for that and comments that he thinks that Joaquín will get sick of seeing him there.

Majo makes a food delivery to the company and runs into Diego. He says she look very pretty. She answers that Claudia is very pretty, too. She found out about their great reconciliation.

Vale
Vale meets with Eleazar outside the house. He wants to take her to do some training. She says she can't do it. Kassndra overheard their call and must have told her godfather already. Also, she has to watch her sister. They kiss and she leaves. She goes into her room where Eleazar has found some way to get in and has installed himself on her bed. They kiss for a while and then he leaves.
 

TAN CERCA DE TI Part 3

Kassandra tells Joaquín how Vero contradicted her while she was trying to discipline Vale. She tells him how she overheard Vale talking to her friend about motorcycle training and she told her that her godfather had prohibited her from doing that. Then Vero stuck her two cents in. It seemed like she was pushing for Vale to go riding again. (No, she only had problems with Kassandra's nasty tone.) He finds that odd since Vero is so good with the kids. He will talk to Vero.

Vale thanks Vero for having defended her against Kassandra. Vero explains that the way she was talking to her wasn't right. Vale realizes she is going to have to adapt somehow to Kassandra being in the house since she is her godfather's partner.

Meli
Meli tells Vero that she has made friends with Alexa. She plans on invitieng her over some time.

Hugo
Hug has news for Yaneli. He heard that Vale was back with Eleazar and he didn't feel jealous at all! He wishes her well but he also knows he has the best-looking girl around . Yaneli likes that.

Consuelo
Vero tells Consuelo that Carmen referred to Aurelio as Isaura's novio. She is worried about her father if that is the case. Consuelo says she will find out. The next morning, Aurelio is over for breakfast and Consuelo tries to find out if he is going out with anyone. She notices that he has ironed his shirt and thinks that is a sign. He is so proud of having ironed his own shirt but he tells her that he is not going out with anyone. When his wife, her sister, died, that was it for him when it came to romance.

Parallel Lives or the Good-Enough Choice
Vero talks with Consuelo about her situation. . Consuelo brings up that the heart wants what it wants and she knows that Vero is in love with Joaquín and thinks that Joaquín feels the same about her. Vero makes it clear that she has no time for romance so she is thinking about giving Facundo a chance. He cares about her, understands her and accepts her "double life." Her only reason for being in Joaquín's house is her daughter.

Joaquín tells his brother that Kassandra is a committed woman who supports him, takes care of the kids and is the companion that he needs right now. He promised Luis he would take care of his kids like his own so what he does with his life has to make sense in terms of them first. Iván asks about his happiness. There is no answer

Facundo managed to do the unseen Mario's bidding. What a disaster. I cant believe Vero is actually considering him.

So, the law has caught up with screeching Olga , who up to now seemed to be the comic relief , including giving both Ivan and herself a facial that turned out badly .
Joachin is clueless , and sneaky sneak Isaura is back in the house . I don't think she knows that Aurelio is Consuela/Vero's father, so I guess it was just Telenovela luck that she picked him to witness her tai chi " injury." ???? Now, the mother \daughter team are back in the house...double trouble .

Hugo seems very happy with bubbly,affectionate Yaneli who jumps into his arms as soon as she sees him !! Hugo is all smiles now. These two have lots of chemistry .

I don't understand Isaura targeting lazy, not rich, pensioner Aurelio. Kassandra needs to catch a millionaire, but she's going for a middle or lower class widower? Maybe she knows his heart condition and thinks he has one foot in the grave so short term easy pickings for her.

I'm confused about the house the family is living in. wasn't there no guest room when Joachin moved in so he has to move into the parents room, but apparently now there is a guest room for Isaura. When Joachin sleeps in the office wouldn't it make more sense to use the guest room (when it's unoccupied).

When Ramon was casing the joint after meeting with dani in her room she sent him downstairs to the bathroom. Bedrooms upstairs and no bathroom on that floor in that huge mansion! Well that is an architectural failure, especially with 3 girls in the family.

Kat...ha...this is a telenovela house ...it evidently expands and contracts because the writers don't have a blueprint in mind . ...lazy writing . These writers are very careless .No rhyme or reason for so many things .
Joachim and Vero are both getting on.my nerves ...too innocent and unthinking . I like smart Galans and leading ladies . i see no hero's journey . Joachin is stuck in port. Susan, tightening her beanie as she suspends her disbelief higher and higher

WOw...what an episode ! I on!y have the visual , and I can't wait to get some explanations on the dialogue .
That was quite a dinner to impress new investors I imagine . Gina was drunk as a skunk and Out of Control as everybody else tried to gain some control of the situation .
Looks like Uriel is trying to protect Marisol and her daughter from Monique's weird Abuelo.
Grecia is throwing up and trying to find a dress to wear .
Cat fight in the pool for the cousins .
More calls of the blood for Cat and Rex. Wow. Off the rails completely now.

I keep hoping that Gina will turn out NOT to be a Peralta-Avitia — remember it was Rex’s DNA that was tested, not hers — but I can’t figure out how that could be possible. Surely Candelaria wouldn’t lie to her own daughter, especially since she doesn’t even like Aramis very much. Well, no one does.

It would just be such a huge and satisfying karmic justice if after all that gloating, she had to go back to putting her boots on her own table. Oh wait! She doesn’t even have a table.
