Monday 26th, Part 1

Rehash of stupid Boran making a stupid call to Alya about Meryam, and if they make Alya jealous of Meryam, I’m going to spit at the tv. Alya remembers what Sada told her about Meryam being just a cellmate.

New stuff. Cihan gets to the hoosegow just as Erol is finishing up his meeting with Meryam. They chat and Meryam asks if that woman was Alya. She tells Cihan she’s beautiful and asks if Alya knows about her. Cihan says of course, but not that she knows that Meryam is there. Cihan gives some ridiculous excuse about why he hasn’t told Alya yet. Meryam says she understands but I doubt she does. Cihan asks if she’s going back to Germany when she gets out, and she says no but assures him she isn’t staying here. He hopes she can begin a new life when she’s out and offers her help, like with money and a job, but she’s not interested. She grabs his hands and thanks him, which is, of course, right when Alya gets there. She looks troubled. I roll my eyes. Then Meryam spots her and looks way more guilty than she should. Meryam takes her leave and Cihan goes to meet Alya, who asks if that was Meryam. When Cihan confirms, Alya walks out with Cihan following. Cihan wants to talk. She doesn’t. She does tell him he should have explained earlier. She gets in the car and Cihan stands in front of her truck and refuses to move. She threatens to run him over, and might have actually done it but Erol is there and pulls Cihan away from her truck. Cihan gets in his truck to start yet another car chase while Erol, I assume, regrets ever taking the Albora retainer.

Regular speed car chase. Alya’s car start beeping and stalls. She gets out and yells at the truck for being out of gas. She accuses Cihan, when he pulls up next to her, of being responsible for this. They argue, she’s walking away and he’s trying to convince her to stop. Then Erol pulls up and she yells “where have you been”. I don’t get this. Why would Erol come after them at all?

Erol, per the captions while getting out of his car: “Lord, it never ends with these people”. Truer words have never been spoken, Erol. Had to chuckle a bit though. Is Erol married? He should have someone nice. Someone not from Midyat or, god forbid, related to any Albora.

And then Boran shows up, because why not. He looks smug while Alya yells at him that he got what he wanted and to leave her alone, while finally gets in the truck with Cihan. So maybe not exactly what Boran wanted.

Cihan and Alya stop at a cliffside to argue. Mostly Alya argues and Cihan has to take it. Fair. He should have told her. But instead he tells Alya that Meryam is in the past and he doesn’t feel anything for Meryam. He says he would have told her if she weren’t about to leave the konak, but he didn’t want to confuse things. She says he’s confused, not her. More discussion about this. They get back in the car and drive home, probably in silence. I don’t have to clean spit off my tv because Alya’s ire is directed at Cihan for lying, which isn’t wrong.

Monday 26th, Part 2

Alya is still pissed off when they get to the konak and she kinda rudely yells for Ummu a couple times. She wants all their things and storms upstairs past the rest of the family. Sada asks if she find out about Meryam. Kaya explains that “duh” and also that it was Boran’s fault. Sada refuses to take the blame here. Cihan talks to Alya while she tosses the rest of her stuff in bags. She yells at him more, that she’s not mad at Meryam but at him. She says they are in this situation because he hides things from her. The interruption of Ummu with more suitcases stops the argument.

Ummu doesn’t want her to leave but Alya tells her not to start. She doesn’t want to hear it from Nare either. Sadakat looks on with an expression that looks more content that she should feel. Denis doesn’t put up too much of a fight when leaving. The lads carry suitcases down to the truck while everyone looks on sadly. Happy memories from Cihan while the theme song plays. Denis takes leave of his abuela, telling her that they’ll live in an apartment for a while and then come back. Sada agrees that they’ll be back. Alya curtly wishes her a good day and walks away. Sadakat was getting close to redemption and she blew it. Kaya offers to come over and play soccer with Deniz, and starts to talk to Alya about Meryam but Alya shuts that down. More goodbyes. Alya wants them to go in Muzzafer’s car but Deniz wants to go with papa Cihan, which Cihan readily agrees to. This just adds to Alya’s irritation. Last we see before commercial is Sadakat waving goodbye to Deniz and looking sad. Good.

Everyone gets to the apartment and Deniz notes that it’s nice enough but not the mansion. Boran is there too with his usual expression of smug jerkiness. Cihan and Alya talk up the place to Deniz and show him his new room. They ask if he likes it and he doesn’t. Points to Deniz for this. They offer to redecorate to his liking, but Cihan told him they won’t be there long. Alya gets mad about Cihan telling him this when they leave the kid’s room. Then Meryam calls Cihan and Alya rolls her eyes and starts to leave but Cihan pulls her back. He wants her to hear the conversation. Meryam apologizes to Cihan for taking his hands. She had hopes for them based on their history but she’s sorry, didn’t want to cause him problems, etc. He passes this on to Alya and is like, see? She’s the past and knows it. But Alya reiterates that she’s mad at him and not her. Alya asks about why she’s in jail and softens when she gets the story. She says something like another woman cast into hell not of her making. Cihan looks shamed. He apologizes to her, telling her she’s right, like he’s some kind of adult or something. Then Alya asks what she’ll do when she gets out, and Cihan mentions getting a job and moving on with her life somewhere else. Alya asks, what if she wants to stay here?

Meryam in jail, playing with the necklace that Cihan gave her. She gets called for a visitor. It’s stupid Boran. She looks confused.

Monday 26th, Part 3

Back to Cihan and Alya, who have calmed down and are talking with indoor voices. But then he says he’s glad she's calmed down and he’s lucky she just rolls her eyes at him instead of stabbing him. But she has calmed down and they end on a happier note. As she walks him to the door he asks if she saw the old woman and kid at the door, saying THIS is a nice family building. She smirks and he’s happy he made her smile. Also she is wearing the chunkiest house slippers ever. I agree with not wearing shoes inside but those things that look like padded crocs are odd with her nice dress. This is not important at all.

Boran and Meryam talk. He says he assume Cihan is helping and Meryam confirms. Boran thinks iCihan is the reason she’s in jail and he asks if she thinks he’s really helping her. He hopes (he says) that the judge lets her out. He asks what she’ll do after and she tells stupid Borna that she’s going to go anywhere that isn’t Midyat. Boran asks if Cihan will allow that, as though he has any say in it. Boran is either trying to put ideas in her head or getting his own to mess with CihAl. He leaves her his number and says to call if she needs help. His compassionate face disappears as soon as Meryam leaves the room. And now we all get to worry that he’s going to mess with the judge.

Alya remembers her conversation with Cihan about Meryam’s future in Istanbul. Cihan is on one of those nice Midyat patios (maybe at the office?) and talks to the lads, including Kaya and Sahin, about VGurgun’s murder and a phone that has been turned off. I missed where they got this phone number from but maybe it’s a number they found from VGurgun’s phone? They know it’s someone Boran knows and as soon as that phone is turned back on, Cihan wants to know who it belongs to.

Fidan shows up and is exhausted from having walked up all the stairs. Might be all those stairs keeping her looking good. But she’s offered a glass of water and she chugs it down. She swore she’d never some back to this place and Cihan tells her she shouldn’t swear. I like that Fidan can tease and be teased without looking like she wants to shoot anyone (hello, Sadakat). Zerrin is there too. They are going to meet with Erol about their divorces. Kaya looks at Zerrin who looks as miserable as ever.

Ecmel is with Boran and gives him a phone to use to call a person that I don’t know abou,t so the mystery man won’t know who he is. Mystery man is in a car somewhere and has reddish hair and a deep scar on his face. Boran tells him that Meryam is in jail in Midyat (so this is the abusive ex of Meryam). Then stupid Boran tells abusive ex that Meryam is about to get out of jail and that HER ex is helping her. We end here and I hope Boran suffers mightily even if we have to wait for the third season to see it happen.
