2/17 #128 Hasta el Fin del Mundo – Irma Gets a Beating (allegedly)

Casa del Cochinito, etal
Chava arrives just as Armie and Nandito are leaving for school.  Nandito gives Mommy Dearest clear instructions to feed Pigleto.  Chava has brought along a gate for Pigleto to make sure he doesn't get out.  Momma wastes no time in calling Pigleto a Marrano Inutil, once everyone leaves.

Casa de Chava
Lupe prays for guidance from La Virgincita.  Should she tell Paco that Octavio isn't Sofia's father? Or should she keep her trap shut?

Renzi Realty
Janitor reports to Chava that el Sr. Tostado (love it!) is usually there early and leaves by 5:00 but he hasn't been there today.  Chava tells him to keep an eye on him and take note on his comings and goings.  And while he's at it, see if he can find out anything on anyone who comes to see him.  Janitor agrees and will also check with his friend the guard to see if he has any info worth sharing.  Chava's getting his money's worth on this guy.

Aracely's Office
Aracely tells Armando she's preparing a response to the attorney on behalf of Irma.  Armie tells he wants custody of Nandito.  She counters by saying Irma's not crippled (lisiada) for life and is still recuperating and thinks it's in bad form for Armie to take advantage of the situation.  Armie insists Irma is faking it to entrap him.  Even the doctor says she should be walking by now.  There's nothing physically wrong with her but she refuses to go to the psychologist.  She's only doing that to keep him at the house, and that's not right!  He has to do something!  Aracely accuses him of doing it all for “esa mujer.”  He doesn't deny he's in love with Alexa but reminds her that the relationship with Irma was over long ago and he has a right to his freedom!  AND......he has a right to custody of his son if Irma isn't able to care for him!  Aracely doesn't agree.  Nandito is Irma's life. Armie can't take him away from her.  Armie says the judge can decide.  Aracely feels like she's got her back against the wall (entre la espada y la pared).  Irma's her cousin and he's her friend.  She isn't representing Irma as an attorney.  She just agreed to write a response to the attorney.  Armie thinks she should just go ahead and represent Irma.  As her attorney and as Nandito's aunt, she would do what's best for Nandito.  They both agree what is most important is Nandito's well being.

Casa del Cochinito, etal – Catfight!
Irma is getting herself all gussied up for her company, “La condenada chancluda”. The spider invites Alexa into her parlor.  Irma explains the gate at the door is there because of the mendigo cochino Alexa gave Nandito. Irma accuses her of giving Nandito the pig just to mess up (jorobar) her life, insisting the piglet only to causes her more work.  Alexa isn't going to listen to this and wants to leave.  Irma won't let her leave without giving her a piece of her mind!  She accuses Alexa of continue to meddle with her family.    Stupid Alexa falls right into her trap and defends her position, saying Armie is such a gentleman and the only reason he's there is because Irma isn't able to care for Nandito.  Irma insists Armie's there because he still loves her.  Oh, no he's not! Says Alexa.  There's nothing left of that love and it's all Irma's fault.  Irma asks if Alexa is sure Armie loves her.  When Alexa says yes, Irma tells her to accept the fact that she's her husband's lover!  Alexa defends their love and they've managed through it all for their love of Nandito.  Irma accuses her of trying to win over Nandito by using Pigleto.  Alexa says she has a special relationship with Nandito that is separate from what she feels for Armie.  Irma taunts, her saying the only thing left to say is that she “loves Nandito as though he were her son!”  Alexa won't deny that she dreams of the day she will be with Armie and Nandito.  Irma doesn't see how that will happen since she plans to be tied to this chair til Kingdom Come.  Alexa accuses her of faking it and says Irma's a far better actress but would do well to stop the theatrics.  She tells Irma to have some dignity and let Armie go.  Irma says Alexa's the one who should show some dignity and let Armie go, “Condenada coscolina (of loose morals=floozy)!”

Alexa accuses Irma of not wanting to get better and selfishly keeping Armie and Nandito from being happy.  Irma spits out that she refuses to leave the way clear for Alexa!  Alexa:  “Not you, nor anyone, can stop this love of ours.”  Irma repeats that Alexa must leave her family alone!  Alexa tells her she's (Irma) the odd woman out here.  Irma gets really angry, “Condenada coscolinaRompe hogares (homewrecker) Roba Maridos (husband snatcher)!”  Alexa calls her crazy (pot, calling kettle) and finally manages to get the hell outta there!  Irma manages a “Zorra! (slut)” before Alexa exits the building – in slooooow-mo!  Picture this, as Alexa leaves, Aracely walks up and sees her entering a taxi.  Renzi's goon is hiding behind a tree watching it all unfold.  Meanwhile, inside Insane Irma is in a rage!  She beats her face with a wooden spoon, stabs her arm with a steak knife, throws something through the kitchen table, and repeatedly bangs her head against the wall!  Only Pigleto is witness to this madness.  Way to go girl!  Get your aggression out AND frame the zorra who is stealing away your man!  Aracely walks up and hears Irma calling for help.  Irma is on the floor, crying that Armie's lover came over and beat her up!  Ooooh, Irma, you just bought yourself a big ol’ anvil!

Empresa Ripoll
A bouquet of a gazillion red roses arrives for Alexa.  Noemi gets on the horn right away with the gossip.

Depa del Borracho and the Dramatic Drunk
Marisol is trying to console her “bereft” father who is weeping that he wants to be left alone to die.  He cries that he's going to die alone.  Marisol tells him he's not alone – he has his family.  He cries that Lupe left him for someone else and has stopped loving him.  Waaaah.  There no reason for living.  He tells Marisol she's the only one who loves him.  Then he starts yelling again for her to leave him to die alone.  Marisol refuses to leave him like this.  He cries that he's lost everything and repeatedly tells her to let him be.  Waaaaaah.  Poor Marisol refuses to give up and then Javier actually throws himself to the floor crying for Lupe.  “Lupe, Lupe, por que Lupe?”  puhleeeeze

Don Manuel's Garage
Chava updates Manuel on Patotas' condition when he gets the call from Marisol about their Delirious, Drunk Dad.  She's never dealt with a drunk before and doesn't know what to do.  Chava is on his way.

Casa del Cochinito y La Loca
Irma refuses Aracely's attempts at first aid.  She's checking out the damage in the mirror and wants to go straight to the po-po and press charges against Alexa.  Aracely warns her that this is no joking matter (guess cuz may not be buying what Irma's selling).  Damn! Aracely wonders if Irma might not have fallen and hurt herself.  Irma insists Alexa did all the damage.  Alexa threw her from the chair and beat her.  She can't believe Aracely doubts her!  Well, if Aracely won't take her, she'll go alone to press charges against her husband's lover!  Aracely has no choice but to grab her purse and go along on Irma's Wild Ride.

Renzi's goon is still outside, hiding behind the tree when he sees Aracely roll the beat up Irma outside.

Empresa Ripoll
Reception area -- Armie walks by and sees the ginormous bouquet of roses.  He assumes they're for Sofia.  Noemi informs him they're for Alexa.  D'oh, what? She informs him they're from none other than that infamously gorgeous thespian, Paolo Elizondo.

Oficina de Sofia  -  Sylvana is pointing out that the overtime, double-time, and sometimes triple-time put in by their slaves er, employees is going to be trés cher!  Sofia thanks her for her trouble but reminds her that their slaves, er, employees are very willing right now (to work for nothing, I guess).  Sylvana just wanted her to see that at some point, they're going to want to be paid and they need to be prepared to respond to the union.  Sofia has it all under control.  She's already paid off, er, negotiated with the union.  The most important things right now is to cover all the shipments and improve cash flow.  Sylvana knows how hard everyone's been working and is offering to work just as hard to save the company.  Sofia thanks her, but no thanks.  Sylvana expresses her desire to win back Sofia's confidence.  Sofia says that will take time.  Sylvana gets the point and leaves.

Matias' lab – He gets a call from Joveth who is missing him and suggests they meet for din-din.  Matias imagines him and Joveth at a swanky restaurant where he hands over all his cash to the waiter.  Joveth clarifies she's inviting him over to Irais' depa for a home cooked meal.  Well, that's different then, what time!

Delegación
Aracely wheels a bloodied and beaten Irma in.  Aracely asks her again if she's sure she wants to go through with it.  Meanwhile Renzi's goon has called Sr. Tostado to report that Irma's at the Delegación!
Mr. Toastie is miffed and assumes she's there to snitch on him.  The goon is armed and Mr. Toastie tells him to go ahead and do his worst but as the goon steps up to Irma he realizes she's there to press charges against Alexa.  He calls Mr. Toastie and reports.  Mr. Toastie is very surprised and tells the goon to keep an eye on her.

Back at the po-po, Detective Tavarez asks if Irma had an accident.  “This was no accident.  All these injuries were caused by Alexa Ripoll and I'm here to press charges!”

Empressa Ripoll
Alexa gossips with Irais and tells her about her altercation with Irma, saying she left after Irma insulted her.  Irais reports Paolo called to remind her about the readings.  Alexa's flattered he would take the time.  Then she learns about the flowers.  Ostras!  She wonders if everyone's seen them.  Ostras!  Armie saw them!  She wonders if Armie will be angry and thinks it would be best to remove the flowers.

Torre del Diablo
Patricio comes to el Diablo's office to face the music.  Little does he know Ollie has already spilled the entire olla de frijoles.  Peralta good naturedly asks if Patricio has married Miss Ripoll.  Patricio stupidly  begins to say he's very close but Peralto quickly interrupts him and jumps up, gun in hand, and says he hates it when Patricio lies to him.  He informs him he already knows that he was jilted at the altar because of that chofer.  How pathetic.  He asks how Patricio is planning to complete his mission since he obviously hasn't done anything right.   All he had to do was discreetly seduce her, marry her and that was that.  But nooooooo, he's not even man enough to keep a good for nothing chofer from stealing away his woman!   Patricio stands there and sheepishly explains that Chava won her over with his stupid Romeo and Juliet fantasy.  But have no fear, Chava will not win.  Patricio has Greta on his side.  She may not help him win over Sofia, but she'll help to undermine Chava.  Peralta wonders if maybe Patricio would have been better off wooing the elder Ripoll since they apparently get along so well.  Patricio explains he knows a secret about Greta.  Peralta says that instead of hiding behind that woman's skirts, Patricio should have killed Chava when he had the chance at that race.  Mr. Toastie chimes in they tried again at the PanAmerica Race but that darn Chava has more lives than a cat!  They can try again.  Enough! Says Peralta.  Three attempts would be too obvious. That would attract the attention of the police to Toastie and Renzi.  That would lead them to Peralta.  He realizes he should rid himself of these two idiots.  Patricio and Toastie explain about the chocolate contamination and the ensuing lawsuit brought by Silvetti.  In addition to Silvetti, other shipments were impacted and Ripoll was unable to meet their obligation to other clients.  Toastie and Patricio also made sure the story was leaked to the press to cause more damage.  Many of the longtime clients now refuse to deal with Ripoll.  Patricio is sure that without the necessary cash flow (liquidez), Ripoll won't be able to pay their bills and the factory will be foreclosed/bankrupt.

Depa del Borracho
Chava arrives and Marisol tells him Javier just keeps repeating that he wants to die.  Chava says the only thing to do now is take him to Cruz Roja.

Delegación
Irma tells Terraza that she was very much the lady when Alexa came to visit.  It was Alexa who offended her and became very aggressive.  It was when Irma accused her of being Armie's lover that the beating started.  She wasn't able to cry out because Alexa pushed her against the wall and that's when she cut her brow!  Aracely testifies Irma refused to get medical help, wishing instead to come directly to la delegación.   Irma continues, “As much as I pleaded with her not to beat a poor defensive paralítica, Alexa continued slapping me, scratching my face.  She even kicked me in the ribs when I was thrown to the floor.  Hopefully, she didn't break one.”  Terraza can't believe Alexa would do such a thing and Aracely asks again if Irma is sure this is truly what happened.  Irma is angry they don't believe her, seeing how she's all bloodied and all.  She insists Alexa be arrested.  Comandante explains he needs to hear Alexa's version and asks Irma to see their medical personnel to evaluate her injuries and add their statements to her complaint.

Empressa Ripoll
Alexa cheerfully bounces up to Armie, who continues working.  He pulls her aside so they can speak in private.  He asks about the flowers from Paolo.  She insists it's a professional relationship.  He knows she couldn't be blamed if she dumped him because of all his baggage.  She assures him she's not tired of him, that it doesn't matter.  Well, he's tired of feeling that his hands are tied, that they have to hide their love.  She's sure that will change.  He tells her he's asked his attorney to move forward with the separation and custody of Nandito.  Really.  Smoochies.

Armie’s only worry is the impact this will have on Nandito.  Not to worry, Alexa says.  Nandito is strong and resilient.  He'll adapt.  She suggests Armie move back to his apartment.  Once the legal drama begins, Irma will be hell on wheels (pun intended).  Armie thinks out loud that Irma's family can take care of her and Nandito can come stay with him.  He'll discuss it with his attorney.  Alexa is glad they'll finally rid themselves of his ex, especially after what happened today.  She tells him of her visit to his home.  Whaaaat!   Alexa mistakenly thought Irma had come to see reason.  Well, she was wrong.  As soon as she got there Irma insulted her and well, Alexa got angry and they argued and things got ugly.  She left before it got any worse.  Armie doesn't understand why Alexa let herself be talked into going there. He knows Irma is determined in ruining their lives.  She wants them to be as bitter as she is.  Alexa calms him down, saying they'll soon be rid of her.  Hopefully the judge will see that Nandito belongs with Armie and they'll live happily ever after.

Delegación
Irma names Aracely as a witness.  Whoa, Aracely saw nothing, other than Alexa leaving the scene of the crime just as Irma cried out for help.  Comandante agrees to call Alexa in to give her statement.  Irma is diappointed to learn that Alexa will not be arrested.  Comandante seems openly against Irma.

Torre del Diablo
Peralta only hopes that this story of sabotage is true.  Sofia Ripoll is a woman with many resources and won't be easily defeated.  Patricio assures him Sofia will soon have nothing.  He's talked himself out of another mess.  Peralta lets him go and tells him to keep him informed.  Toastie and Pato walk out.  Not so fast, Toastie.  Peralta assumes he's managed to buy out the majority of the properties, right?  Well, uh, uh......

La Cruz Roja
Chava hugs Marisol and assures her Javier will be ok.  The doctor comes out and gives them the bad news that Javier has irreversible damage to the liver.  She's recommending he be transferred to a specialized clinic to undergo the appropriate treatment.  When asked if he's going to be ok, the doctor responds she doesn't know, and then asks if they have medical insurance. (nice)  Marisol has insurance and money to pay for his treatment.  Doctor will give them the necessary information to have him transferred as soon as he comes to.

Rehab Center
Isadora is actually there seeking help even though she doesn't consider herself an alcoholic.  She's there to prove to her son that she can stop drinking.

Empressa Ripoll
Sofia's office – Dani and Sofia review Ollie's efficiency plan.  Dani suggests they hire this genius but Sofia says they can't afford him.  Dani is sure he'd do it for no pay, he doesn't need it.  He has a rich daddy.  Sofia gives in and Dani explains how great his dad is.  Why, he even cut his trip short when he heard Ollie was having problems with Mums.  Sofia hopes Ollie will come work with them and that she'll eventually meet Dani's future father-in-law.  Be careful what you wish for, dearie.

Torre del Diablo
Toastie tries to explain he's had some problems convincing some homeowners to sell, but he assures him that will soon be resolved.  “Problems.” How the devil detests that word.  He wants an explanation.  Toastie explains Chava is at the root of the problem, rallying the homeowners against his plan.  Peralta can't believe a chofer has more power than Toastie to convince the homeowners.  Renzi explains Chava  has their respect and convinced them Renzi's Realty is not to be trusted.  Chava has become an obstacle.  Peralta can see that Chava is an obstacle that neither Renzi or Pato have been able to overcome.

Cruz Roja
Marisol explains to Lucas about her father's condition.  She tells him to explain to Sylvana she won't be in today but not to give any info about her dad.  Chava has also checked in at work.  He doesn't think it's time to call Lupe.  It would be best to wait until they know what the clinic says.

Torre del Diablo
Peralta continues roasting Toastie.  How many homes has he sold?  Well, uh, Renzi didn't bring the plan but he can explain......Peralta doesn't want any more explanations.  He wants to go to Renzi Realty right now, review the plan and see how many properties (predios) he's bought.  He hopes, for Renzi's sake, there is progress (adelantos) because the people they work with don't put up with tonterías.

Casa Ripoll
Our first and only visit with Greta tonight.  She sits in her room and thoughtbubbles about Pato's claim that Chava's ulterior plan is to become the owner of Ripoll.

Empressa Ripoll
Alexa happily tells Irais about the news of Armie's pending separation from Irma.  Irais doesn't want to be an aguafiestas (Debbie Downer) but the mother is usually the one who gets custody.  Alexa doesn't want to hear this.  Any judge who can put two and two together will see that Irma is not capable of caring for Nandito.  She cites the two suicide attempts (technically one, but we see her point) as proof.  She's so optimistic that this is finally the beginning for her and Armie.  Irais wants to review the new designs for candy wrappers, but Alexa refuses.  Noemi comes in advising Alexa that Comandante Tavares is  here to see her.  He walks in and advises her she is being accused of assault!  Tan-tan-TAN

Que te lo digo yo!

Avances:
Alexa sees “proof” of the alleged assault
Sylvana wants to set a date and Pato thinks otherwise
Sofia overhears Sylvana reminding Pato how they deceived her.

Well, well, well. What does it say about Irma's character that even with a bloodied face, even her cousin is doubting her.

Javier is where he belongs. Isadora has saved herself from the same destiny.

No one said "Que te do digo yo" No fun. waaaah

Loved, loved, loved, seeing Pato and Renzi, aka Sr. Tostado, getting grilled by Peralta.

I thought for sure Araceli heard all the beating and banging as she approached Armando's house, all the while Alexa was out and hailing a cab. The whatever she threw going Thru the kitchen table should have made more noise than Irkme's subsequent cries for help.

Excellent Paquita

"Alexa calls her crazy (pot, calling kettle) and finally manages to get the hell outta there! Irma manages a “Zorra! (slut)” before Alexa exits the building – in slooooow-mo!"

So funny when Peralta suggested Pat should have gone after Greta and hiding under her skirts.

We gonna have a liver transplant now for Javier?

Says it all, when Alexa shoved the wrapper designs away when Irais tried to show her, twice.

Thank goodness, I was spared much of Salvador last night, Sal II is riding the reputation of Sal I and better off absent. Every time I see Sal II, I cannot understand how the town or Sofia think he's the bees-knees.

Yes, Alexa was stupid enough to go to Irma's house. ¡Ostras! She could end up in the big house! ¡Que se lo digo yo!

Jarifa

Paquita, the recap was excellent. ¡De verdad te lo digo!

Jarifa

Irma pulled a Lynn Whitfield & faked a beating just like Lynn's character from Between Love & Hate movie!

Remember that movie anyone?

Fabulous Paquita. You conveyed all the action perfectly and the embedded vocabulary was a treat!

"Way to go girl! Get your aggression out AND frame the zorra who is stealing away your man!" was my favorite line but there were so many other great ones.

Irma is one tough cookie. This was a desperate act - one which no one is taking seriously, especially Tavaras.

It was fun watching Peralta. He is the one and only person Pato has shown sobering respect for. Tinged with fear. I agree tofie, him suggesting Pat go after Greta was great.

So Javier has siroccos of the liver. Not good.

Thanks again Paquita.

Diana

Paquita---Great detailed and complete, a really worth while morning read. A BIG thank you to you.

Things are really moving along now. Javier out of control, Irma out of control, Alexa about to be arrested, Chava's life may be in danger as he is the main one
blocking or standing the way of "the plan." The heat is on. Peralta wants to know how many properties have been bought up, he's going to check. And to top it all off, Sophia hears Silvana and Pato rejoicing on how they deceived her.

Alexa was still wearing part of her Big Bird outfit, the top part.
Well that's ok, as pretty as Alexa
is she can look good in most anything. Hey, don't get mad at me, it's a man's view.

Looks like Alexa might be on her way to jail. Wow! Mexican law. Anyone can accuse you and you are guilty until you can prove that you aren't. Not a good system.

So the bad guys are under pressure from the bigger bad guys.
Chava, Sophia and Ripoll Chocolates? This is getting good.

Can't wait for tonight to see what Sophia will do after what she heard. The door wasn't locked?
Are they getting sloppy or overconfident, I don't know which.

gringo "Can't wait for tonight to see what Sophia will do after what she heard. The door wasn't locked?
Are they getting sloppy or overconfident, I don't know which".

I vote both! In any case, I am delighted to see Sophia will see (further) evidence of just how deceived she has been.

I'm not sure how or when but suspect that Sil will eventually find out that Pato poisoned her, causing her to lose the baby. A terrible betrayal but the truth is she knew what kind of man he was yet clawed, graped and clung to him for dear life, despite it.

Diana

Thanks so much Paquita! I was only half paying attention, and then Irma started beating herself up and I could not look away. Whoa! She just outcrazied all the crazy characters in this, even Icky Icker, or whatever his name is.

WOW....Every time I have trophy for "Most Evil Human (sic) On Earth" polished up and ready for presentation to Grrreta...oops er Patprick..wop wop wait I mean Silvana..yeah...aw nooo now Irma.... Shooting at a moving target, someone even more evil surfaces.

Even Silvana's own brother, Cristian WARNED her that Patrick was up to no good!

Can't wait for the truth about how Patrick killed Silvana's baby to come out!

Paquita, excellent recap.

I'm strangely not bothered by Irma pressing crazy charges against Alexa. So ditzy of Alexa to agree to meetIrma without telling Armando beforehand. And that skirt was not for her, but maybe Dani or Marisol.

Thoroughly enjoyed Peralta sticking it to Patricio and Toastie.
