Mundo de Fieras--Thursday, November 9

Gabe is visiting with Mari at the hospital. Nurse Ratchett lurks (I guess prowls would be a better word for la fiera) around the corner.

Candi gets a bad sign, her rosary is broken.

Jos injects Aurora with a mystery shot. Oddly, she comforts Aurora as she delivers the shot heard (or telepathically felt, as the case may be) around the world. Mari wakes suddenly, aware that something’s wrong. She runs to her mom’s room, barely missing Jos. She realizes Aurora is dead. Mari cries hysterically…she has a good chin tremble.

Paulina, overjoyed by the full-page proclamation of JC’s love is interrupted by Luisito…who also sees the ad and comments on it.

Elsewhere, Gabe’s also looking at the ad. He’s worried about Paulina…his associate tells him he’s a good father because he takes on his kids’ problems.

Mari’s still sobbing (didn’t bother calling a nurse…) and Clemente joins in with the wailing. Clemente calls Candi to break the news…she looks at her rosary and realizes that’s what the sign was for. Mari’s saying her final goodbyes to her mom…who as far as I could tell (I’m not a doctor) was still visibly breathing. Note to directors…unless your actor has an above-average lung capacity short, and in this case extremely short, shots are probably the best choice.

Karen, dressed up as I dream of Jeannie, and Tiberio (he left the astronaut suit at home) are doing their icky flirty thing. She’s so stupid.

Miriam notices that Jos is looking very calm and happy. (Killing people can do that when you’re a psychopath.) Jos said she took care of something…

Leo ambushes Gabe in the hospital corridor to talk about Mari’s love life in the hospital corridor. Leo’s not going to let her suffer. Leo makes the astute observation that Jos isn’t going to give Gabe a divorce anytime soon. Gabe defends himself by saying that he’s not a liar, he entered into his marriage with good (if blind and completely naïve) intentions but now that things (well, Jocelyn, at any rate) are going crazy loco…it’s time to call it quits. Then Leo asks, do you still love her? Gabe says no comment.

Miriam gets a phone call and learns that Aurora died…immediately she suspects Jos (which is kind of strange, considering that Aurora has been dying for awhile now) and asks her if that’s the business that she went to take care of. Jos is like, yeah, yeah, yeah…so what. Don’t worry about it, I was really careful…besides I have to go and see my shrink which is really cool because I can tell him all the crazy bat sh*t stuff I do and he can’t tell anyone because I’m his patient (based on my extensive legal experience…reruns of Law & Order…I thought that if the patient was killing other people or threatening to kill other people the dr. had to tell someone).

We see later that Karen & Ty go to a Scottish restaurant (based on the tartan tablecloths)…Tiberio, giggling creepily, shows Karen the ad from JC. Clearly he’s hoping to be her rebound man.

Paulina & JC are looking over their relationship mementos simultaneously. They both look like 13 year olds right out of the gate.

At the shrink’s office…Jos is discussing her constant thoughts about death, her curiosity about killing someone and what would be reasonable justifications for killing someone. The doctor takes careful notes as he sees a book deal…maybe even a movie offer…with this BSC (that’s the medical term) patient’s story. Later, the psychiatrist meets with Federico privately and tells him that Jocelyn has no sense of morality and is guided only by what she wants. He recommends they hospitalize her.

Ty comes home and his mom gives him a lecture about Belen. He asks her why she’s so interested in him and she tells him for his well-being. He says, well, in that case let’s get it on and jumps on her (that’ll make a mother proud). Needless to say, she freaks out and let’s the truth slip out. Now it’s Ty’s turn to freak out, insisting that his mother is dead. He runs away to Demian’s room for the truth (a reliable source if ever there was one). Demian kicks him out. We see Dolores crying & praying.

Federico calls Miriam to tell her their daughter is a total nut job and needs to be hospitalized. Miriam doesn’t believe him and hangs up.

Jos is saying goodnight to Luisito and gives him the news that Aurora died. Instead of bed, she packs him up and takes him to the funeral. Much to the disdain of everyone else at the funeral, Jos makes a grand entrance.

Back at bedtime…Luisito hopes to come over whenever his mom asks him to, but she tells him that he won’t want to after Gabe knocks him around as a punishment for coming over. Luisito looks surprised and confused, as only he can.

Paulina, working on a jigsaw puzzle that looks like it’s meant for a five year old, gets a call from JC. She plays it cool…he tells her to look out her window. He’s down below with a big chalk heart drawn on the street, decorated with rose petals that says, I love you Paulina. Um…where I come from, this is called stalking.

Ingrid tells Miriam that Padre Anselmo came around. Miriam’s like, who the heck is that? Ingrid says he was talking about the kids left on the church steps and she thinks he might know it was she who left Miriam’s son. Pshaw, says Miriam, you said no one saw you. Raising Miriam’s blood pressure even higher, Ingrid suggests that Miriam’s secret won’t be one for much longer.

At the funeral, Mari is crying and saying that she needs time to think. Leo says, of course we’ll give you time (He looks at his watch and says okay, time’s up…just kidding).

Paulina goes downstairs to brush off JC, she still doesn’t believe his little demonstrations of love. He reiterates his love for her, looking kind of crazed as he does it. She calls him stubborn and walks away. It starts to rain (just in, like, one spot), washing away the beautiful chalk heart (these two need to grow up)

Mari thanks Gabe for rebuilding her mom’s house. She tells him she needs some time alone, but would like the chance to be near Luisito. He says sure, offers his condolences and leaves. Clemente then offers to help her, but she says no.

Paulina looks out the window and wishes that their love was like the chalk heart, washed away by the torrential downpour now raining down on JC, but no…their love is very strong. She wants to tell him she loves him, but she can’t and won’t do it (speaking of stubborn). She calls him to tell him to leave, but ends up admitting that she’s scared of feeling what’s in her heart again. He says, don’t be afraid. I know I’ve screwed up but let me show you how much I love you and that I can be your protector and your refuge. She waits a couple more hours (just to make sure he gets pneumonia), calls him back and says, okay I’ll come down there just as Karen arrives. Then Paulina gets all huffy, but he stops her so she can hear him tell Karen, once and for all, that he loves Paulina.

Clemente & Gabe are discussing Aurora’s death and Mari’s future. Clemente ‘fesses up that Mari is his daughter.

Ahhhhh a beautiful re-cap, I so just love to hate these people. This TeleNovela is such a shout out for the peasents to rise up & redistribute the wealth...

Miriam doesn't believe Joselyn is in full BSC mode, Miriam, Miriam, Miriam...denile is not just a river in Eygpt.

Great recap. What a bunch of ninnies they all are. Moral: Money makes you weak.

Joselyn's nurse getup was so stylish! Thanks all for the excellent recaps.

I realize this comment is a bit late, but I'm a few episodes behind. Can anyone tell me why M.A. wouldn't yell for a nurse or dr to come in as her mother lays there? Did M.A. call the time for the death certificate or what.
Re: Tiberio and the icky Oedipus scene with Dolores, can we all say OVERACTING?
