La Fea Más Bella #168 12/15/06 Reversals of fortune
Rehash - for Men!
Fern is at his desk, packing some of his things into a box. Omar shows up looking dejected, with a piece of paper in his hand. He's looking for Humberto, to turn in his resignation, but Fern says Humberto has already left.
The rehash session begins. Omar wonders why Lety did it. Fern says "duh, she read your stupid letter!" They review Lety's motives. Omar wonders how long ago she read it. Fern doesn't know, but adds that Lety also heard them plotting to send her out of the country. What better revenge than to unmask them in front of the committee? He recounts the phone call to Lety's house and vows to go looking for her. Omar wants to know why. "Do you know what that woman could be thinking??" Fern replies. He doesn't want Lety thinking that The Letter was the whole truth. He needs to tell her the whole story.
Omar asks about Marcia. Fern says she cancelled the wedding and doesn't want anything to do with him. He swears he couldn't stand her a second longer anyway. Omar wonders if Marcia found out about the romance with Lety. (I just noticed he hasn't said "gargolita" yet. That's progress!) Fern says, "If Lety had wanted her to find out about it, she would have put a copy of The Letter in her folder too, don't you think?" Personally, Fern doesn't care what Marcia thinks. He puts the Golden Lion (the Cannes trophy) on top of his box of personal effects. Then he puts it on his desk. "I'll leave it for my father," he says. (Good thinking.)
Omar asks what Fern will do even if he does find Lety and gets her to listen to him. She went away; what does he want with her? Fern explains that it's for his own peace of mind; he feels sorry for what he did. Fernando tells Omar, "You were born without a heart." Omar asks if he wants something from her besides forgiveness. Fern says, "I need her with me, Carvajal." Omar asks if he is thinking of starting a relationship with her. (Starting?? Where has Omar been all this time that he thinks they would only be STARTING a relationship?) "Of course," Fern says. Omar thinks Fern is crazy. What will people think, when they find out?
"What else can happen?" Fern answers. What else that hasn't already happened? As for Marcia, he says, they're pretty much finished, and he doesn't have to explain to her what he's going to do with his life.
Spring Collection, by Lety
After refusing Fern's phone call, Lety tells her father that Fern is just annoyed that she quit, that's all. Before RoboPop can ask any more questions, Lety asks Tomas for her taxi. Tomas points to RoboPop. (I don't know why she thought she would take a taxi.) RoboPop says of course he's going to take her to the airport - he's got a very fancy car out there.
Mom joins them with some warm-weather dresses from her own collection to lend to Lety. One of them is plain, but far more fashionable than anything Lety owns. RoboPop complains that it's too revealing for their daughter. (It's sleeveless, and the neckline is slightly lower than the choking collars that Lety usually ears.) It's not decent enough for his tastes. (Mom exclaims, "are you calling me indecent?!") . The other is a pastel thing with long sleeves and a huge collar, but with lighter fabric than Lety usually wears. Naturally, he approves of this.
There's a third, light-green dress than I don't get a good look at. Um, anyway, enough of the fashion show. Lety packs these and RoboPop warns her against bathing suits and bikinis and other provocative clothing around men on the beach. Tomas suggests that she wear gloves, too. Mom giggles. Pop doesn't get the joke. ;-) Lety says she won't be putting on a bathing suit - the only one she has looks like it could be her grandmother's.
Lety makes a big deal of leaving her diary behind. ("Should I take it? No, I'll leave it.") As soon as Lety and Tomas leave the room, Mom hides it under a blanket. RoboPop is intrigued and wants to read it right away! Mom says it's time to go. :-)
The Breakup
Fern and Omar step into the executive lobby, where they are immediately accosted by Alicia. She wants to know what happened with the waiters and all the food. He tells her she can go into the meeting room, get the waiters, serve the food, and eat it. Alicia says, "I don't get it. If I go in without the waiters, they yell at me; if I go in with the waiters, they insult me; etc. etc."
Teresita and Marcia approach. Alicia tries to tattle on how mean Fern is. Marcia says tell the waiters to serve the food to the employees. Teresita asks Alicia to help her make some calls. Alicia eagerly agrees and asks who she should call. Dramatically (in front of Fern), Teresita says, "the invitees to the wedding... to tell them... that there won't BE a wedding."
Alicia says "ay Marcia," but by this time she almost sounds hoarse from whining so much! PM, Lola, and Sara exchange discreet glances and try to listen in without being too obvious. "You can't do this to me!" Alicia whines. She says she already bought them a gift and made payments on it. She wants an explanation. Marcia says not right now. Instead, she wants to talk to Fern. She orders him into her office. Fern asks Omar to wait in his office.
Alicia tries to get the story out of Teresita instead. T says it's something to be discussed behind closed doors. Alicia agrees, because of all the gossips around them. (Sara makes a face at her. PM laughs. Teresita looks perplexed.)
Fern follows Marcia into her office and closes the door. "I won't waste much of your time," Marcia says. She says he must feel pretty content now that she's cancelled the wedding, as he had hoped. Now she has to face the invitees. He offers to help with that. She says no thank you. She says today at the meeting, Lety did her a big favor: she saved Marcia from marrying a two-faced jerk who was capable of destroying the family legacy, disrespecting her parents' memory. She's out of his life.
Fern says he had to confide in Lety, because Marcia never would have permitted what he was going to do (i.e. be dishonest about the company's financial problems). Marcia says he confided in a stranger, who betrayed him, instead of confiding in a woman who had always loved him, had fought for him, and defended him unconditionally. She dedicated her life to him. But that was his decision, and now she has her own. She said it in the meeting and now she'll say it to his face: she's not going to marry him.
Fern bears all of this patiently (after all, he never wanted to marry her in the first place), then vows to win back everything that he lost for the family and for Conceptos. She says don't worry - we're not expecting anything from you. He says he's sorry, he isn't trustworthy, and she doesn't have to marry someone who doesn't deserve her. He asks for her forgiveness.
She says, "I'm not done yet, Fernando. I know you did all of this for your ego, to defeat Ariel, but I have something that I don't understand, much less approve of." She opens her desk drawer and whips it out - The Letter. "I want to know your opinion of this." She begins to recite the letter... FROM MEMORY.
Fern wants to know who gave that to her. Instead of answering him, she whips out the stack of Carvajallmarks and waves them at him. "These - these are your big romantic campaign?" She throws them down in disgust. She looks at The Letter and reads her favorite part. "'To keep the love alive, take a drink, and if you're sufficiently inspired, go to bed with her.'" She closes her eyes, trying to make the words disappear.
Fern again asks who gave that to her. "Who do you think?" she whispers. "The one who betrayed you at the meeting - Leticia. To whom you gave your life and your trust." She quotes from the letter again. "'Yes, yes, I know you're making the face of a martyr, but you don't seem to detest going to bed with her as much as you used to.'"
Fern begs her to stop. He says he well knows what's in that letter. He already explained what he did. The committee wiped him out and he's had enough. Marcia says no, he didn't talk about that subject. Did he go to bed with Lety? He says he doesn't want to give any more explanations. She says they're not necessary - The Letter is clear enough. (She is approaching him slowly.) She's just going to add one more thing to his sentence.
With that, she backhands him across the face. She takes off the ring, holds in up for him to see, and lets it fall to the floor. Rubbing her hand, she says she could have forgiven his financial failings, but he has fallen way too low.
Silently, Fern leaves. Marcia sits on the floor and weeps bitterly. (Her forehead almost wrinkles.)
Teresita intercepts Fern and asks where he's going. He says all she needs to know is that he's leaving, just as they all asked him to. Teresita says he had to resign as president, but he can't leave the company. Alicia comes running over to ask why Fern isn't president. Fern says "because I grew tired of looking at you, and decided to resign."
Alicia says "if you're not president, I don't have to listen to your yelling and nonsense any more." She shoves Omar and Fern out of the way and goes into Marcia’s office. Teresita reminds Fern and Omar that they need to stick around and help the company recuperate. Fern indicates that that's what he plans to do. He promises to recuperate all that he has lost them.
Omar pulls Fern aside and asks how it went with Marcia. Fern says Lety gave Marcia the letter - it was the perfect end to the perfect day (that's a loose interpretation of "she closed the golden clasp on the day"). Fern goes off to look for Lety.
Rehash - for Women!
Alicia asks Marcia to explain everything. Marcia doesn't much feel like it, but reluctantly reveals that Fern put Conceptos in Lety's name. Aghast, Alicia wants details, but Marcia says these are legal and financial issues that she wouldn't understand. Indignant, Alicia protests that she had - let's say it all together, folks - six semesters of finance at a very prestigious university, so of course she will understand! Marcia says she's not going to explain.
Alicia asks why life is so generous to Lety. She gets to own Conceptos PLUS that other company from her rich boyfriend. Now Marcia gives Alicia some really shocking news: Filmo-Imagen was formed with Conceptos money and Tomas is just the nobody who managed the company's investments. Alicia has a sick look on her face. "You mean to tell me that he's not a millionaire?"
"Exactly," Marcia answers, "he's another deadbeat (muerto de hambre) like Lety - the only thing he did was use our money to buy a sports car."
Alicia starts to cry. Marcia asks what's wrong. Alicia says she feels violated. She was raped. Marcia looks worried, until Alicia adds, "AND ALL FOR FREE!!"
Marcia asks what happened with Tomas. Alicia says nothing, then says it's not her day, and starts crying about her car. Easily following Alicia's train of thought, Marcia smugly realizes that Alicia's plan with Tomas backfired. Alicia swears that the money was only going to be a loan. Marcia makes a crack about Alicia's poor payment history. Alicia accuses Marcia of only caring about money! She claims that she will someday pay back every last cent Marcia loaned her. Marcia says she'll need to get a rich boyfriend.
Marcia asks point-blank if Alicia went to bed with Tomas. Alicia screeches indignantly (again, sounding hoarse). Marcia asks again, "did you sleep with him so he would give you the money for your car?" Alicia says "No, no, no, no, no... ay... sí, sí, sí...." She says it was a moment of weakness.
"Financial weakness?" Marcia asks. "It was two weaknesses," Alicia answers. "Financial weakness... and that other one you already know about."
"Another one who has fallen so low," Marcia says to herself.
Teresita joins them and says it's time to make some phone calls (to cancel the wedding). She pays no attention to Alicia sobbing in front of her. (Perhaps she knows better. Or maybe she assumes that Alicia is crying about the cancelled wedding.) Marcia asks about Fern. Teresita says he left and didn’t say where.
Say goodbye to the old Lety
The Padillas meet Carolina at the airport, just in the nick of time. Lety, whose arm is in a sexy, fashionable black sling (she says she'll explain later), introduces everyone (including the dog). Mom says nice things to Carolina; Tomas snorts at her approvingly; RoboPop greets her politely. They explain that they're late because Lety broke her arm. While Tomas helps Lety check her bags, RoboPop grills Carolina about the trip. She explains that it's a beauty pageant. She will supervise the setup, attend to special guests, and that sort of thing. RoboPop worries about partying and asks Carolina to keep Lety out of trouble. He goes on to explain that Lety is timid and inexperienced. Carolina promises to look out for her. Mom apologizes for Pop's behavior.
They say their goodbyes. Lety promises to call when they arrive. Mom gives them food and a blessing. RoboPop tells Lety to stay out of the water because an animal might try to eat her. He warns her not to forget her education in Acapulco. Tomas tells her to have a good time and forget about everything. Lety tells him to forget, too. He asks if Alicia asked about him. Lety says she didn’t dare! RoboPop tells her to wear her seat belt. There's another round of hugging and kissing, and Lety tearfully makes her way over to Carolina. Mom calls out that they'll take care of Moty.
Lety tells Caro she's afraid to fly. She also apologizes about her father. Caro says it's because her parents love her so much.
The Daystalker
Fern speeds up to Lety's house in his Blurabout and waits for them to come home. Eventually they arrive. (Thunder rumbles in the distance.) Mom greets him. He shakes hands with RoboPop. He holds out his hand to Tomas. Tomas shakes it grudgingly.
Fern asks for Lety. RoboPop says she's not home. Fern asks when she will be back. RoboPop says she left town.
(Back at Conceptos, Alicia sits in the restroom, crying that "that horrible woman is his lover." She asks herself how she ever could have imagined it. It looks like she re-applied her coral eyeshadow for the specific purpose of smearing it when she pulls her hand down her face.)
It has started to rain. Fern presses for details. Tomas intervenes and tells him that Lety's whereabouts are not Fern's concern. Fern says "excuse me, Tomas, but I am speaking with Erasmo." not talking to you," but Tomas is firm with him! He says, "Don't come back, I've told you twice now." Shocked, Mom asks Tomas why he's being so rude with Fernando. Tomas hints that Fernando isn't so nice either.
In a more reasonable tone, RoboPop tells Fern that Lety asked them not to say where she went. Fern says that he'd like to explain, but it's personal. Julieta suggests that when Lety calls, they will ask her to call Fern. Fern unhappily agrees. RoboPop says that if Lety left any loose ends when she left Conceptos, if the accounts are out of order, to please call him, RoboPop, and he'll come over and fix them. :-) Fern says it's nothing like that, just please have her call. He humbly thanks them and excuses himself. They go into the house and Fern drives away in the rain. RoboPop is left with lots of questions that Tomas can't answer!
Tomas leaves, saying he'll come back later to chat on the phone with Lety. (As he opens the door, I notice harsh sunlight streaming through. Apparently, it only rained just long enough to soak Fern and his car.) RoboPop is still uneasy about Fern's visit. He wonders why Lety wants to hide from this man. Julieta is concerned also. The dog looks bored.
Caro shows us her bra
Granted, it's a fancy bra, it's not like it's some ratty old thing she dug out of the back of her underwear drawer, but still, it just looks like she forgot to button her jacket.
On the plane, Carolina asks Lety how she broke her hand. Lety says she was at the house and had forgotten her bag. She went to her room, and, for whatever reason, she went into her trunk and pulled out a framed photo of Fernando. (I don't know when or how she got it.) She asked herself if she wanted to take it with her, or leave it. She decided not to. She put it down. She said "I'm leaving, Don Fernando. I'm going far away to change my life. I'm going to forget you." She cried a little, then said angrily "I'm going to forget you, Fernando Mendiola." Then she smashed her hand down on the photo, breaking the glass.
"One more time, Don Fernando hurt me," Lety concludes the story.
(I thought a better explanation would have been "I had this awesome nightmare where I pushed all the plates and glasses off the table and cut myself, and then when I woke up, my hand was all bleeding and stuff!")
Caro points out that Lety hurt herself, too. She has to learn to control her emotions. This trip will help. She will get to know a new person in herself. Lety looks out the airplane window and says she's scared.
Finally, they get to Acapulco. (Kazoos!) Lety complains about the heat. Carolina says it's not so hot - it's Lety's clothes and stockings. She can change out of them when they get to the hotel. Lety asks what she'll need to do for this job. Caro says it'll be easier than at Conceptos - she'll work with people and organize anything that can be organized.
Two women, airline employees, pass. One of them says "No one around here is as pretty as the girlfriend of my boyfriend." Laughing, the other girl says, "No, not quite as pretty, my ugly friend. But pretty." (If I got that right, then I don't get it.) They welcome Lety and Caro to Acapulco.
Lety is filled with self-doubt. She wonders if she should have accepted this job. She says they need to talk because some things have happened since she originally offered Lety this job. Carolina says she doesn't want to talk about it here, at the airport. Lety says she doesn't want to deceive her. Carolina brushes this off. She says they need to hurry and someone named Cecilia is waiting for them.
Lety complains some more about the heat and the noise. :-) They try to walk into a building, but are forced out when a very noisy (festive) band crowds through the door! Caro tries to use her phone as they walk away from the building, followed by the band. Lety yells too, but of course Caro can't hear her so she gives up and sorta-dances with the band. Annoyed, Caro starts yelling at Lety. Lety yells back. Suddenly the music stops, and Lety is still yelling: "I can't help it, the dance is inside me, the rhythm too..." she realizes that everyone can hear her. Everyone claps for the band.
Cecilia shows up and Caro introduces her to Lety. They get in a Ford Fusion (no Swigglemobiles or Blurabouts for these ladies) and there's a brief conversation about how it's all new and air-conditioned. Lety complains again about the heat and says they still need to talk. Whatever. They all get in the car, which is photographed to its best advantage as it rolls through the roads of Acapulco.
A shirtless man goes out on a boat. We don't see his face, but we get a good look at his muscly back.
As Lety and her posse proceed to the hotel, Lety stares at the ocean and thinks to herself that it's as big as the pain in her heart.
Next week
Lety begins a new life. Will she turn into a butterfly and fly away?
Carolina drinks a piña colada. Will she get drunk and start a brawl?
The shirtless man throws out a fishing net. Will he catch anything? And isn't he fishing a little too close to the shore?

Didn't Lety smash the picture with her right hand? I wondered if I was mistaken.
Carrie L.
Thank you for the recap!
As much as Marcia hates Lety, I'm still getting the vibe from her that she is as digusted with the way he heartlessly used a woman to cover up his financial misdeeds as anything else he did.
And speaking of heartless, Omar's close questioning of Fern about Marcia further confirms my (and I think others) contention that they belong together. He's kind of like, sorry it's falling apart for you, dude, but, um, Marcia doesn't know about my part in it, does she? I always thought he was vicariously acting out his secret love for Marcia when he jumped the gun on Fern and picked out & gave her the ring. At least Omar can look forward to a lucrative modeling career in selling "Rehash-For Men!" ;)
It was hard to focus on anything but the awesomely embellished bra, but did anyone else notice that Caro's little pinstripe jacket had a skull & crossbones worked into the design on the lapel? She's just the coolest.
Caro is the coolest. I can't stop looking at the blond streak on the underside of her hair so it will only show when she wears it up. Very chic!
I am still no fan of Marcia. It seems she is deliberately making Fernando think Lety betrayed him again by giving her the cards and letter when we all know how that little scenario came about. Also, what an invasive B_____ to have taken those cards anyway. Anyone would have known those were Lety's personal belongings and Marcia shouldn't have read them. That was humiliating.
Teresita has definitely had a face-lift and wears false teeth. I'm all for doing all you can for yourself though, and most people with money do maintain themselves as much as possible.
Blurabout is cute. Weren't those scenes of Acapulco great? Makes me want to take a vacation to Mexico. I'm in Texas so it would be so easy but I've never gone. Maybe we could all meet in Mexico some day.
Connie
Marcia's ring didn't bounce because it's so incredibly heavy with bling. ;-)
I never noticed a problem with T's face. That's because I couldn't take my eyes off of her magically motionless hair.
As for the speed, I am cheating somewhat because these recent episodes have followed the Colombian ones so closely. A lot of the time it takes me to do these is just in setting up the outline of the recap. I can get a jump on that by using the Colombian ones as a base. Most of the dialog is still too different to rely on the Colombian one much. Anyway, that advantage will vanish soon because I think this trip to Acapulco is going to be different from Betty's trip to Cartegena in several ways.
Blurabout comes from my observation (months ago) that the checkerboard logo on the Beamer is always blurred out. (When Lucy and Ethel rented a VW to spy on Lety's bday party, the VW logo was blurred out too.)
Marcia and Lety - as Marcia looks through these letters she's realizing that Fern did exactly the same thing to her - sleeping with her and offering to marry her to prevent Ariel from winning the business from him. I keep thinking she'd have to have rocks in her head to give him another chance, but then I remember, she's already given him other chances.
It is no big deal to Lety that Marcia kept them, now that she's seen them - Lety was going to throw them away and destroy the evidence, otherwise. You can't forget something if you're going to keep souvenirs. Fern also pointed out to Omar that Lety would have put a copy of The Letter in Marcia's folder if she had planned that to be part of the betrayal.
I didn't notice the skull and crossbones on Caro's jacket. Now I want that jacket!
I wondered when Lety smashed the photo if that was a stunt double doing that. I had wondered when there were two Letys in the nightmare rain-in-the-house scene and one was pounding on the door if that was a stunt double who kept her back to us while the real Lety looked over her shoulder.
I was pretty sure I saw the left hand in the sling so I'll keep my eyes open better in the future! (I did see the broken window in the microbus, which I took to see a symbol of Lety's broken life when she left Conceptos in the previous episode). I didn't see the symbol on Caro's jacket, because I was too busy thinking about putting that outfit on the school dress code as "prohibited." How interesting: a skull and crossbones on the jacket of one of the show's nicest, kindest people. It there symbolism there? Caro is the last person I'd think of with that.
I wondered about the symbolism of the fisherman at the end, aside from his drop-dead gorgeous back view. Could this be the next step in Lety's life? You can't get much farther from a corporate manipulator than what Fern used to be (and we hope he's got that out of his system now) to a simple fisherman who wears no Armani suits --or the Latin equivalent-- and doesn't wear much of anything else, either (sigh).
Jeanne
The skull and crossbones was a little subtle - I could only see it in the scene where they were walking throught terminal, just after the two employees greeted them.
Not everyone sees the skull and crossbones as a sinister thing anymore; and don't forget the Jolly Roger is also a symbol of pirates. Caro likes edgy fashions, and pirates were a big part of Acapulco's history.
It was a bit of a jolt when Lety arrived at the airport with her arm in a sling, even though we knew it was going to be that way eventually. I thought I heard her say she cut it, but they took some liberties with the cut. The miracle of television. They count on us overlooking details like that because we are so mesmerized by the dialogue. (For those of us struggling with Spanish, that's more true than those of you who have the facility with it).
Jeanne
It is a mystery to me why Fer would stick around at Conceptos and be daily humiliated by the snake, the b**ch, and his own parents.
Yea!! for Acapulco! Now the show should get fun again as Lety works her magic on the people there.
Can't wait,
Rhonda,
Hey Connie - I'm in Texas too!
I would think any car company would be happy to have their cars featured on television in any show. I don't understand what the deal was with Fern's car and Lety's lease.
I don't care who shows up as a new interest, unless they are Fernando Colunga they are no match for Jamie!
For least favorite, I'm thinking, maybe, Teresita. Certainly she is the most useless. (At least Ana-Leticia is good for name confusion and mild comic relief.) I can kinda-sorta understand Humberto being focused on business stuff, but I'll be damned if I can figure out what goes on Teresita's well-sprayed head. I think her entire view of the universe is "what will people think." At least Marcia has a job, even if it does consist mostly of gossiping with her best friend.
Ford - yeah, the talk about the Ford Fusion was very commercial-ish and I am sure Ford paid for it. Ford probably has way more potential customers in Mexico, or the US for that matter, than BMW or Mercedes, so it doesn't seem at all weird to me that Ford would put up some money while the others wouldn't. Maybe Ford asked that the other car logos be blocked out, or maybe Rosy/whoever said "if you guys aren't going to pony up, we're going to blur/swiggle your logos out."
In any case, although New England is having a freakishly warm November/December this year, it's still *really* nice to be looking at Acapulco right now. And if the heat inspires Lety to take off her tights and maybe expose a half-inch of neck or wrist to the world, so much the better for her!
I have a strange feeling that despite "everything" that Fern will be over in bed with the bitch of Conceptos(Marcia) again now that Lety has moved on.
The diary? The daily writings of Lety's life is so much a part of this show, does anyone believe Fernando will ever read her words? Maureen
Mama T. is definitely freaky looking. Kind of like an older Marcia without the orange eyeshadow. I couldn't believe the way mama T. and papa H. turned on their only son. So cold!!
Still, my least favorite has to be Ariel. I don't like anything about him including his thong!
Carrie L.
But of all the main characters, Teresita was the least unkind to Fer, at least after the meeting. Well, that's not saying much, I guess but you could tell, without a doubt, that she was worried about his mental health.
The whole thing is so incestuous anyway, a rather unusual set up with Fer having to share his mom and dad with 3 people he hates! Honestly.
I have always wondered why Lety chooses to dress like a grandma, but Robopop's reaction to that sun dress perhaps shed a little light on it...was anyone else wondering how on earth that dress even got into their house??
Still, you have to wonder where/how Lety picks out her clothes, given that her wardrobe is frumpier than her mother's.
I don't want to be too judgemental about what people do to their faces when their looks are a big part of how they make their living, but it was really weird to see the lower half of Marcia's face twisted up while she was crying, but only the slightest furrows in her forehead. A little botox looks nice when you are smiling, but it's creepy if you need to be showing a range of emotions. Given the amount of time Marcia has spent being angry on this show, it seems odd.
OTOH it wouldn't be so strange if both Marcia and Teresita, the characters, were doing botox anyway (aside from whatever the actresses are doing in real life).
As an aside, in the first episode of Ugly Betty, Wilhelmina (the Vanessa Williams character who is sort of a female Ariel) was getting botox shots - but in a recent episode, she frowned and her forehead furrowed like a Ruffles potato chip. It was such a refreshing thing to see!
Robopop is beginning to get on my nerves with his over protective attitude. Even Julieta seems bugged by it at times. I also think J will read the diary, something I find offensive, but what she will do about it is something else. Perhaps go to Fer and demand some answers and break his heart further when he realizes how badly he hurt our girl.
I love the way Lety dances when she's with a band. It's so goofy but sweet. I don't want her to get too sophisticated!
I'm going through real Fern/Lety romance withdrawal! I hope they give us a lot of flashbacks!
I have recently been hearing the word SELF-ACTUALIZED to describe a guy who has "evolved." I think it means one has a healthy, well-integrated personality. I can't think of too many people on this show who are self-actualized, can you?
If he really wants Lety (and we know he does)he is going to have to grow a spine and stand up to his parents. Lety has her own lessons to learn but at least she has a backbone.
As for our fisherman friend I think that is just a diversion. Lety and Fer are over the title characters so they have to end up together.
