Now added: the original "Alborada" recaps on Pratie Place

Hello friends,

I've just tagged all the recaps I did in 2005-2006 when Alborada was airing - see the sidebar. These recaps led to the birth of the "Caray, Caray!" blog - devoted, amusing readers over at Pratie Place became the original crew who first came over here with me. (See Alborada recap #29, March 2006, for first mention of the new blog.)

I hope this is of historical interest. Thanks, all.

Thanks Melinama for adding Alborada to the list! That was a great time watching and all your hard work with the recaps!!

Melinama---My first and alltime favorite novela!!! My portal to the wacky, mystical world of telenovelas. And I must take this opportunity to quote 2 of your comments that won my heart and sealed my fate forever : 1] ''and the mystery boinker of Santa Rita is none other than.... Luis'' b] Diego's ''swellings in the humid zones'' [which left me impactada for days...perhaps weeks]~~~Susanlynn, your devoted fan

Very appropriate addition! Thanks for all your hard work. It still blows my mind that you recapped (practically) every episode of that entire telenovela! Alborada was also my first, and still favorite, telenovela.

Yeah add me to the list of people saying "how did you pull that off?" I'm going to go back and read some of that to see if that story seems ridiculous too and maybe it was just the acting and scenery that made it seem better. I suspect the story had a little more meat to it than what we're dealing with now.

Thank you for adding Alborada, Melinama. It will be fun to read them and remember! Maybe someday they'll show it on some other network. (Awhile back they showed "Ramona" on Galavision on Sunday evenings.) Wouldn't that be great?

Yes In very grateful to you for what you did and for what you still do. Thank you.

Alborada was a great great novela. I remember thinking I wasnt sure if I wanted to watch it. La Virgin Esposa had just ended (or was about to) and I thought gross I dont want to watch something like that! How wrong I was. Then when I found your blog everthing got better. The community, the words you would pick out and explained their origin, everyone elses notes, all of it! Fine times. It is a wonder that you accomplished anything else during that time. You must have been so busy. Im glad you put all that hard work here too. Thanks again!

Melinama,

Thanks so much for this!! I had always been a huge fan of period films/tv and had just started watching novelas when Alborada come out. I have the DVD and taped the entire series. I often lurk and laugh at the wonderful blogs you and others post. I am so happy Telenovela World linked us to you!

This place is so much fun that when I really can speak/understand Spanish, I'll keep coming back here to laugh. And hopefully I'll gain enough knowledge to be a blogger myself.

Thanks again.

All the best,
Karen

Melinama -

thanks for including all your hard work on your Alborada recaps. As I can attest, this was a labor of intense love and devotion to do for every episode for just one person. I actually was doing recaps by myself for the same telenovela for the yahoo group alboradafan, but I found myself lurking and enjoying reading your recaps as well.

J.R. :)

This is great, and quite nostalgic! It's how I found you, and I was so thankful for all the hard work on those recaps. That was just such a special show, and your recaps made it even better. Thanks again!
