Caray, Caray!

It's 6 a.m. over here, but I just couldn't wait to get online and read the recap. I have been waiting to see this episode because I saw it on youtube a while ago, but I never quite understood exactly what Fernando was saying. When Fern said that he only wanted her lips, for a split second Carla must have thought that she had a chance... not so fast Carla... he wasn't talking about you! At least Aldo never pressured Lety into going to bed with him in order to forget Fernando. The whole time all fern could talk about was how much he was in love with lety. If a guy tells you that he wants to prove his love to the woman who he's in love with, then a normal woman would realize that this guy is off limits. To carla, this apparently means that he isn't off limits and he should be with her. Carla even knows that Marcia is still his girlfriend and yet she's still throwing herself at him. She says pobre Marcia, but she's still trying to seduce Fernando. I actually like Marcia more than her. How could she call Lety ugly when she has that nose and those teeth... I'm just saying! I'm glad that Fernando turned her down, but he needs to tell her to back off & mind her own business. It was really hard to watch this episode with Carla all over him like that. The only person that was great through & through was Omar. He is very amusing to watch. Wow! It was great getting that off my chest. I can't really talk to my friends about the show so thanks for listening girls!
 

I can't believe that carla! "I want Fernando to love me like he loves Lety". Well sorry Carlita but its NEVER going to happen!!!
 

Another great episode. Thanks for a great recap. Omar deserves the Mexican equivalent of an Emmy award. I was rofl at him.
Thank you Fernando for not falling for "Hoochie Carla"'s blatant advances. My God, she was all over him. She just took every opportunity she could to touch him or lay her head on him. She just met him. Who would act that way with a man they just met.
 

didn't carla take pics in her camera? Won't she send them to lety, to ruin everything. Or will she come to conceptos and let lety know she was with her in NY. I thought when lety was in the air baloon, she would look down and see fernando and karla walking someplace. Hey This is novela land.

Also I hear people saying they saw this episode and that episode on youtube?? I look at you tube and i get 60 second videos. I don't see episodes of anything. Also the videos stop/start/stop/start, is that supposed to happen.
 

Where are they getting the changes of clothing? Lety had another outfit and so did Aldo and Omar.
And that white sweater that Lety had on, I think that my grandmother had one just like it.

At least Fern was able to think clearly enough to walk out of Carla's bedroom. Projecting Lety on a skyscraper wall, maybe not such clear thinking, but whatever it takes. Didn't he tell Carla Lety wouldn't let him sleep with her? my interpretation skills aren't so great. Carla's expression was not only aghast at Lety's featude but also thinking Fern was loco. Not that pity for his craziness stopped her from wrapping herself all over him. When I first saw the projected image, my husband heard me laughing at the other end of the house.
I'm also very puzzled at Lety and Aldo's change of clothing and their willingness to wander about the countryside when they have business back at Conceptos. Of course, business never stopped any Concepto employee from goofing off.
That whole Aldo recap of his wife's discontent and death--why??!! He already told Lety all that stuff, so I guess it's just to bring latecomers up to date.
I agree, Omar should remember to use the binoc's neck strap. The whole balloon ride was just more filler, although funny in spots.
 

Hey I liked Lety's sweater, maybe it was buttoned too high but have you noticed she starts to hide herself when she get's nervous? I LOVED it when Omar started to count Lety's eye twitches and Fernando, he knows her so well.

I wish that Carla lady would take her hands off of Fern but it is good to see him resist a woman while Lety resists another man. Very well done Ocampo (I've noticed everyone bashes this person when they are unhappy, I thought she was just the director or something, not a writer, am I wrong?) And, a final note on Fernando's heartfelt tears and crazy actions: It's about time. Lety cried for ages before the meeting, now it's his turn. I am really sad that I started watching the show right when Fernando got jelous of Tomas and followed him and Lety. I never got to see the really great love scenes, except through flashbacks and the credits. Please everyone, keep talking about them so I can experience their good times vicarously!

I thought it was weird when Lety recapped to Aldo her being used as a bet by the neighborhood thugs. When she told Fern it was touching, now it just seems like she clawing for sympathy!

I thought Alicia was having a daydream. When she was talking to Marcia, she said something like "with everybody gone, who's in charge?" and Marcia said something impatiently like "it could be you for all I care." Then the picture kinda dipped sideways for a second like Alicia was going into a daydream.
 

I think aldo told lety "Again" about his sorrows hoping to get into her you know whats' through pity. The kisses hugs and more would have been accidently done out of pity while trying to comfort him. At this point he will get it anyway he can. I too like what ocampy did and I was getting to the point of disliking her, ever since she put aldo in the pic. but showing fern and lety back to back, struggling with their feelings. both being entertained at the same time by someone of the opposite sex who likes them. It is awesome. I can't wait to see lety y fern get back together. That first kiss should be awesome, because they will have gone through so much before realizing that they want each other solo.
 

I agree with Julie, I think Alicia was daydreaming. It seems to me that Lopez be more likely to declare himself in charge so he could sack the cuartel and replace them with a bevy of noventa-sesenta-noventas.
 

I agree that Lety, Aldo and Omar should have called in to the office. Particularly Lety, as the President, should be more responsible than to just take the day off without notifying anyone.

What did happen between the fireworks and morning? Seems like the fireworks softened Lety. Let's hope it didnt' impress her that much.

I did not like the advance for tonight....why is Omar sending Fer a picture of Lety and Aldo and why oh why is Omar showing Lety a picture of Fer and Crazy Carla?....bad, bad Omar. The only good thing is that Aldo didn't look too pleased with Lety’s reaction...it seems that tonight’s episode will be a dramatic one…. and I'm going to miss it!!! My youngest has a concert with his band, and for a crazy reason (I broke it) I don't have a video tape recorder... bad Maricruz. I’m counting on you to tell me how it goes tonight.

Not only did they not call in, they even went on a balloon ride during working hours. I kept thinking, "I know the officers of Conceptos don't like to do a lot of work, but normally they at least show up."

Most of the clips on YouTube are short. Sometimes I see an episode cut into several parts. If your video stream is starting and stopping it is probably because you have a slow connection (dial-up).
 

Those fireworks oh Puleeze it takes more than a couple of hours to set them up with that much personalization but I forget NOVELELAND where people go on a sudden one day business trip,from the office and everyone has a change of clothes. The hotel gift shop must have been doing a land office business.

Omar and binoculars walking into the window had me screaming with laughter. I have really come to like the character even with his weaknesses he is a loyal friend and the only person Fern has he can trust.

Carla is the new Aldo and I just HATE all that advice on how to forget someone she is dishing out. After all the beautiful, heartfelt things Fern said about Lety and his feelings for her how on earth does she think she has a shot at him? Another deluded fool - the staple character of a novela.

I didn't care for those previews with Lety being upset about a picture that physio b**ch apparently sent. We don't need anymore reason for her to think that Fern doesn't love her no matter what he says.

Alicia having a dream. That makes sense since Marcia is in no position to dictate who the new president would be. Whoa does Marcia ever jump to conclusions. Next thing we know she'll be on a jet to New York and will find Fern instantly. That might not be all bad - she and CC could get into a monumental cat fight, fall into the East River and drown while Fern states blissfully off in the distance seeing pictures of Lety.

Omar running into the door with the binoculars was GREAT! I've walked into sliding glass doors before - ouch!
Also loved Omar puking in the balloon. Good looks and smooth pick up lines aside, he's kind of nerdy.
Have to say, Aldo's been really sweet with Lety. I see why she wants to fall in love with him.
And then - pow - he gets mad tonight about Fer - ooohh - his face was ugly with celos. End of sweet Aldo! Fer's still got a chance.
 

Not only did Lety find time to run to the giftshop to purchase some very Lety-like clothing (who wudda thought they'd carry that), but she also found matching jewelry.

Also, are we to believe that the little whisper between Aldo and the waiter was him arranging the fireworks display? Please--it would have taken more than a couple of hours to get that personalized display created.

I find it encouraging that Fernando is opening up about what he feels for Lety. He's got to get to the point where he can tell any and everyone what he feels for her--not that he has to tell everyone, just that he should be able to tell everyone. It seems like he is well on his way. Too bad that the people he's told so far either laugh at it (Omar), are shocked (his mother), are jealous (Marcia), or are turned on even more (Carla). Here's hoping that he finds a "normal" person with whom he can discuss his feelings for Lety.

Alicia as president, very scary. It has to be her dream or else it will be everyone else's pesadilla.
 

I was thinking maybe at the resort they have a big shed full of "TE AMO" fireworks displays just waiting to be personalized. ;) That'd save some time.
 

I put "follow that balloon" in dogpile and in the first 20 hits came across 4 tvmovie type plots where this was done. Sheesh. I never saw it b/f. I aughta get out more. Not having ever heard of it I laughed myself into a condition.

There are so many times I just want to reach through the screen and give Lety a good slap or shake her. Enough already with the poor abused ugly old me. I thought she looked very weird when she went to hug Aldo after the fireworks insanity. For a second there she kind of looked like she didn't want to touch him and then stuck out her behind and scrunched down like she does. It is odd almost like she's being a child hugging papi. Maybe it's just because Angelica and Juan sometimes seem to be almost the same size. I also noticed way back when that Fern sometimes seems to loom over her. Very odd camera angles because there really isn't any huge height disparty between all of them when they are just standing around.

It's so cool when people who are close with each other but are passionately fighting then are interrupted by somebody, TOGETHER turn on the intruder. Letti and Ferni have done that twice - on Luigi when he entered for the first time Letti's tinsy claustrophobic office and - on Marcia&his mother. You'd think it would give people a clue something was going on, when she fought like a tigress even after her hurt/betrayal (up until she ran out of time and The Meeting finally happened) to get him to see that whether it was her or their love he ought to not put the business first ahead of them.

Twice now I have seen referrals in here to donFerni telling his mother yo amo lettie. I totally missed that. I recall Marcia telling his mother and his mother's difficulty believing it. How'd I miss that I wonder. Howcum MrsDonHumb didn't pass out and hit her head and land in the hospital or something, if her son actually admitted it outloud in person toherface. She must have been in severe denial for me to not notice. I even do without dinner to see these episodes (and I LIKE dinner) so I know I was watching. Was this just before or just after the wedding was called off? Or abt when DonHumb named the new pres?

As someone said WTF was with the cuartel last night and that idiocy about calling around to all the hospitals and police stations since Omar, Aldo and Lety were all AWOL. I guess no one in their vicinity is allowed to be someplace the nosy sisters don't know about. Ladies it is a business, these are managers they don't have to clock in with the secretaries. And parrot head Tomas who knows where at least two of them were didn't make much of an effort to say that they were out getting some work done - a totally foreign concept in Concetos.

I did laugh at Lety getting in that hot air balloon and grabbing onto the side for dear life. I did the same thing when I took one of them and suspect i left a layer of fingerprints on the the thing but at least she did heave over the side like faithful Omar.
 

I guess jamie has his height out there with the rest of his stats. He s-e-e-m-s pretty tall. But he carries it off so gracefully ... sigh ... if I weren't so twitterpated over f.c., I'd have a thing for j.camil but I can only handle one crush at a time. I've always appreciated the "we miss him" pic here.

mab-- I think you are right, it wasn't Fer who told Helmet Head that he loved Lety, it was Marcia. Still her reaction was horrid. But, I'll ammend my earlier post and retroactively take Mamma Mendiola out of the equation. Fer still needs to find a "normal" person to talk to.

That's right Marcia did tell Helmet Head that Fern was in love with Lety and when she crossed examined him he just told her he didn't want to talk about it. I still prefer him talking to Omar and Lety about it rather than doing Aldo's Tom Cruise imitation and doing everything but jumping on a couch. I just happen to think that really deep feelings like Fern's for Lety belong between the two of them and not broadcast to the world. Plus which he really isn't good at saying what he feels at least until lately.

K--thanks for the recap. Carla is totally delusional. She has completely shattered Aldo's record for conjuring up feelings for someone you just met. Sure, Fern is muy gaupo and it is natural that she would want some, but she should be turned off by the way Fern is behaving. She does not know him, so she can't understand and forgive his behavior like some of us can. After how he has talked about Lety and seeing how distraught he is, Carla should be stepping way back.
Looks like Marcia’s hideous belts made the trans-Atlantic flight-or could she be shopping for some ugly European ones to add to her collection?

cassie, yeah I remember that -- it was exactly like a crossexamination and though he didn't want to talk about it he finally hung his head and admitted, mumbling into his tie, that he did love lettie which stunned me bcs till then he had only told omar (to make sure omar was on his side, or at least neutral since omar hadn't been able to figure it out and it was just b/f TheMeeting, though ferni knew what a nuisance it would be to deal w/omar's reaction).

More proof that Marcia is more like his sister not somedaywife; with enuf zeal, a sister can grill something like that out of her brother (and boyoboy, when it's something that matters to her, Marcia hasalotta zeal).

Poor Omar..I work at at flight school (no I am not a pilot), but lots of people rolf..some students can never not rolf & have to drop out. I was totally afraid to fly in a little plane, but my semi boss & best male bud took me up in a trainer & it was awesome...I have flown with him every chance I get..ha once we are up I get to navigate & steer...I only got nauseaous once when I was flying in a four seater, in the back seat and a guy was getting standardized and he had to do spins..I couldn't see the horizon cause I was in the back...but I didn't spew, I just didn't like it. I you can't see out, like Omar was ducked down..you tend to get sick more.
We just flew the other day in a trainer with the canopy open...that rocked. Also my school has an extremely good safety record, & the maintence is done there.
 

mab--my saying that I amend my previous posting was my way of amending it. Then to fix my mispelling of amend (ammend) I posted another post to correct that. I don't know how to go in and actually fix a post. Does anyone else? Or should we just make a rule to forgive the typos of others as they forgive the typos of ours.
 

I tried to fix a double post, but don't know if you can edit unless you are logged into a user name. This is group seems "muy amable", so maybe we can keep on forgiving typos and other errors.

The episodes this past week have been generating so much comment. I love it. Aldo and Carla have one thing in common, there seems to be such a disconnect when it comes to reading other people. Like "I don't care, this is what I want and I want it now" type of attitude. Aldo knows Lety does not love him, yet he tries to bulldoze her with fireworks and hot air balloons and who knows whats next. Why can't he just give her some space? He has known her for a while and should be a little bit more perceptive at this point. I think Carla just see's this gorgeous man in a really vulnerable position and Fernando being away from home, she's trying to take advantage of that. I don't like the both of them but Aldo really pisses me off.
I think it is really a testament to Angelica and Jaime, that we really believe in the profund love that their characters have for each other. They generate so much emotion from viewers of this novela. I love to read everyone's comments and I think it just depends on where we are in our own lives at the time as to how we react. Thank you everyone.

P.S. I am loving Omar and I loved the way he looked last night in casual clothes (jeans and that blue shirt) and yes, his hands are gorgeous.

Hey, thanks to those who were talking about Juanes' music. I found myself at Barnes & Noble last night with a gift card and picked up Mi Sangre. I really like it. I am trying to learn Spanish and having it going in the background helps. Jaime Camil may be prettier, but he flirts a little too close to the cliff of disco on some of his songs for my taste.

I still can not imagine how everyone is excited about this novela. How you think is is enjoyable and "go along for the ride" which someone said. Granted Omar is funny and lovable now, but it is "all about lety and fern" and that is intense, frustrating, sad and all the other words. They both cry all the time because they love each other but are tied up in a web of lies and miscommunication. I get so upset, I close my eyes and take the earphones off my ears during certain parts. tonight lety sees a pic of fern and carla, after him telling lety he loves her. I would think that this sets the relationship way back???? I can't bring myself to watch it tonight. I will tape it and read the recaps tomorrow. If it is not too bad, I will watch the tape; I guess other people can watch soaps w/o taking them this way, but the mere thought that he is hurting lety again (even tho she got into this with her eyes open) I can't bear it. He tells her he loves her then goes home with marcia. He tells her he loves her and then is in this pic. and the other times he told her he loved her then she sees the letter. Time and time again she is being hurt. I get palpitations real bad with this stuff going back and forth, but i live for the few moments they have and the longing in their eyes. Help me. I try and remember it is a soap, but it doesn't work. This preview for tonight is killing me.
 

For all you Omar fans, does anybody remember when they showed Omar in bed and he answered the telephone - probably a few months ago - he has the best pecs (chest) of all of the men. Very nice.
 

Amanda, If i ran into fernando, I would make a play for him and I am 64 years old, married, mom of two and 8 grandies. ROTF. Never never in my life have I seen someone like him. I have a tutor for spanish and i have my spanish teching programs and all spanish music, yet still had problems understanding when someone speaks; however, being glued to the tv to see fernando, practically in his face rotf, I am learning the language. ret.
 

anon 19:00 - I absolutely know how this novela affects you - I went through many bad days, down moods, sick at heart, "can't watch it" times. The suspense really was getting to me, so I "cheated" and watched the Mex. version to find out the ending quicker. I suffered through that, too. I've never been hit so hard by a t.v. show, movie, anything, except real life. It's like a voodoo spell.

anon 5:23 - LOL - Yeah, that sly Fernando caught me by surprise too. Something about him....and I usually don't fawn over a handsome man, but I've lost my senses over him! My Spanish is soooo good now.
Have to blushingly admit, he has "re-ignited" my Spanish and, uh, uh, me. VIVA Fernando! Isn't it fun? :) :)
 

It seems that Fernando does not like America. None of his comments so far have been positive. For example, he said it's 5 a.m. and the sun has not risen. It's very cold and the air or the men in the air (?) can kill you. He didn't want to take the subway because it's dangerous. He said something negative about the cab driver when he met Carla. In the past, he told Simon to not speak English. I love him dearly but I do not think he likes America. Has anyone also sensed this?

I haven't picked up anything negative other than that he is cold. As for the air killing you he must be joking the smog and air in Mexico City is absolutely lethal. It's the only place i've been where I had trouble breathing and not from the altitude.

As for dangerous subways obviously he never road the one in the DF. When we were robbed there and went to the station there was a room full of people with same problem.

More so than hating the city I think he just hates being away from Lety especially when he knows the opportunistic Aldo is hovering all over her.
 

anon 6:01 - I didn't take it that way. Fer's spoiled and neurotic. Subways in NYC have the reputation of being dangerous, even in U.S. He doesn't like the Mex. City taxis, either. And NYC is cold and dreary in winter/fall.


Sidenote - I met an Amer. couple one evening in Paris while waiting for a bus which never came. So my friend & I took the Metro (subway) and the Am. couple took a cab because they were afraid of the Metro.(!?) They loved Paris otherwise.

Never saw usa-soaps. But these mexsoaps are really SOMEthing if amorreal&alborada&lfmb are any indicators. wowie. I'm having a g-r-e-a-t time. tv usually is so DISGUSTULOUS or just yawwnnnNNN. (I most turn it on while I'm ironing usually, or to find out if it's not safe to go out in d.c. bcs there's a 'protest' near my subway stop, or trying to not hear what's going on in the next apt.)

re: lfmb, I spose it depends what you're in it for.

LFMB is so comical I'm in it for the laughs. Something like lettie's hand on her head after hitting it on ferni's pres desk when she was under there looking for the red bag caused my ribs to nearly fall off. I guess it's because her fingers turn up like persian slipper tips. (My mother taught piano and one student's fingers were like that and I sat quietly in the corner during her whole lesson watching her hands every week. I couldn't get enough of it. Simple things please my simple mind, it seems.)

I love a.v.'s facial expressions as well -- a simple thing like her turning her head 180 degrees to look at her suddenly-upside-down-painting crackS me up. (sorry, no punny-stuff intended, but I don't feel like looking for a better word)

In alborada it wasn't f.c. that got me at first, it was lucero being hauled/pulled off because of the spanish/mex inquisition and sobbing (I was scared they would throw rocks at her and I was sitting on the edge of my chair making yikessounds). My whole life I can't stand people crying, though I am a convert to a church where people sob-themselves all the time -- If I know somebody who's a leaky-faucet will speak/talk I leave the room until somebody else is talking. Lucero is the only one on the PLANET that can cry and I not only don't mind -- I'll sit and watch her all day. (Some of those Alb-episodes she seemed to be crying for days and days.) (She's mex's version of shirley temple and now that she's all grown up she is mostly a vocalist, so's her hubby -- See what my mexsoaps interest has done -- I find out such things instead of spending all my time on family tree research which is what I come use the free internet at the library for.) Lucero's eyes looking at f.c. drew my attention to f.c. and he drew my attention to the chopped up previous telen AR so now I got it, as well as alb, on dvd in the severely abbreviated version. (I'm a cheap so and so -- but I boughtem anyway.)

I laughed so hard it hurt when jamie c fell over the chair in the administrator's ofc trying to listen to a conversation (during that visit when the bureaucrattwit decided they must get the business fixed in 3 months).

If you're in it for the romance instead of the comedy perhaps maewest's remark'll give you courage: it's gonna be a bumpy ride. ==don't remember her exact words but you get the idea.

Carla is sleazy. Ugh. What always mystifies me is that men can’t see through that when they’re looking at a belleza. Beauty trumps nice personality and scruples. ¡No es justo! I am so impressed that Fern walked away this time, though.

Carrie, Alex and Julie, I am hoping that Alicia is just having a fantasy sequence here, too. (Notice that they are calling her “licenciada” and she didn’t even get the degree). Julie, I bet you are right because of the move Alicia made at the end of the call.

Fern may or may not like America. His real negativity is he is not home to keep an eye on Lety. This is how it plays out, with grumbling.

Anon 6:17 I won’t take the subway in New York, because of a bad experience when going to Jackson Heights one time with two work colleagues. However, I love the DC subway, which I took almost daily when I worked in DC years ago. I still use it whenever I am there. Last winter a colleague and I took it when all the others in our group used taxis—he and I both had lived there and knew it well, the others never had lived in DC. He has enough stature in this world that he could easily take a cab and it might be expected, but the Metro is more fun and convenient for those who love it. New York’s might be better if I bit the bullet and used it, but I don’t go often enough anymore (I worked for a NY firm for 5 years and had to go there about one week a month).

I'm going to stick up for our NYC subways. They are so much better than they used to be. I've lived here all my life, and I was mugged on the subway thirty years ago, but you've all heard on how much crime is down here now. It's true.

There are loads of tourists riding the subway and roaming Times Square daily. (Right where Fern was looking at Lety on the big board two days ago.)
 

Thank you anya for validating my crazy feelings. I too live for lfmb. I started watching it just to have a specific topic to practice my spanish with my tutor. each week we talk in spanish for an hour and we discuss la fea. It includes all vocabulary, love, work, finance, travel words everything; however, I got addicted to lety and fern while watching this. Now I wake up thinking of them, go to bed thinking of them and look. Right now I am typing about them instead of being in the living room enjoying my husband who i have not seen since I left for work at 7:00 a.m. DUH DUH Talk about addictions. Plus I never got into this for the comedy. To me it has always been about lety and fern. Unless I missed something along the way, this is what it is abut and this is very intense. I did check you tube and you know what, even if I knew the end results, it doesn't matter. I see this bull going on and I get upset (ie. coming attractins for tonight. I am beside myself that lety is going to see a pic of fern. When he has been so loyal to her while in New York. ROTF However, he could have stayed away from her room, told her no about the walks, etc. HOWEVER, he has been doing the best that he can do to avoid being a muriego. Ret

All right, Nina, next time I come to New York I’m finding you to guard me on the subway. I did have one good experience with another friend, I remembered after I posted, but it was later in the evening and very quiet. No press of people like the first time.
