Blog Mom Needs Help!

For the last two days there have been no captions on Univision here. I don't know who to contact about this. I won't be able to recap La Fea on Monday if I don't get the captions back. Any suggestions?

CLARIFICATION: All my other channels have captions, it's just Univision that's died. I need a contact number at Univision or something - my cable company denies any blame for the situation. I couldn't figure out what number to call! That's what I want help with!

This isn't a "Friday the 13th joke" is it? I've never been able to get the captions (perhaps because our TVs are too old??) but I could - and would - be able to post the gist of Monday's show (if you can't find anyone better).
Thanks for all you do here,
Ann

It must be a local tv thing===we have had no problem at all in my neck of the woods. I bet it will be back on Monday.

No problem here either. Find out who your "local" Univision station is (whichever one your cable company carries) and call 'em up and give 'em hell. Do you know the call letters or city? Where's the late news coming from at 11 or 11:30?

Where are you and who is your cable company? I bet we can figure it out.

To clarify - your cable co can't do anything about it, but if you don't have a Univision station near you and aren't sure which station you're getting, we'd probably need to know who the cable company is in order to identify which station you are getting.

My cable company (Time Warner Cable of Durham/Chapel Hill NC) was unable to give me a contact number or any helpful info about Univision. GRR. I can't figure out WHO to call.

Melinama, my best friend is the satellite manager at Univision, and she can possibly help with this, but she is out of town for a few days on a family matter. I will e-mail her in the meantime.

Meliama, doing a little Googling, I see that your local station seems to be WUVC, which is an affiliate owned by Univision. You can probably find the local number for the station and call them up too.

I have TW cable in south central NC, had captions ok last night on Univision.

WUVC is located in Fayetteville and their phone number is 479-872-0460. Check your captions again to make sure they're still out, then call the station.

They also own a Telefutura station. If you get that channel too, check it and see whether that one has captions or not. That information might be useful to them.

Good luck!

captions? you mean u can get in captioned in english?! how do i do that.

thanks, danielle

For my own future use, my station WUVC is out of Fayetteville and the engineer who can call Time Warner Cable and complain is William at 910-486-2515. He says though TWC denies it, it's they who erred - he says the Univision captions feed is monitored continuously.
