La Fea Más Bella #249 4/9/07 First ever cross-country recap collaboration, oh yeah, and finally a bone from Lety, but no Alpo....!!!!!

GREETINGS FEA FRIENDS!!!! In Melinama’s absence tonight your Fea recappers decided to run a cross country relay! From the East to the West, it’s my honor to present for your reading pleasure, a small taste of each of us in a joint effort recap of a great episode!!! Hope you enjoy the recap round robin as much as we did the episode.
LA PRIMERA …. AMANDA!!!!!!!!!
Aldo's cell phone rings. It's Gerardo. Aldo tells Gerardo that's he's leaving for Acapulco at that moment. He asks Gerardo if he can find the people who interested in buying the restaurant. Gerardo can't believe that Aldo wants to sell the restaurant. (He's not going to do what I think he's going to do...buy off Conceptos debt?) Gerardo wants to know what's happening, but Aldo says it's a long story. Aldo then Gerardo to contact a real estate agent called "CasaCom" and to make and appointment for Aldo. Gerardo is now even more confused. (And I'm getting a little more worried that my suspicion is correct.) Aldo says he'll explain later.
Despite the recent breach of secrecy, Lety thinks it's a good idea to continue to write in diary. She feels trapped. Fernando's leaving. How I would have liked to have left with Aldo. Nothing new in this diary session. Caro enters the presidency and notices that Lety looks especially sad. Lety tells Caro that she (Lety) thinks that she'll never be happy.
And now the vortex. Tomas enters, in his glory. Neither the cuartel nor Alicia pay him any special attention. He kneels at Alicia's desk to ask her what's wrong. Every since breakfast she's not had an appetite. Very observant Tomas. She ate a freaking steak for breakfast and isn't hungry two hours later. I think even Alicia has her limits. She pulls Tomas to the side and tells him that she has a lot of problems. She's left with nothing. In Alicia world, no car, no cell phone = nobody. Tomas, sucker that he is, says he'll do anything to see her happy. They laugh and snort while Tomas explains what exactly he would do.
In the background is the Little Mermaid himself. He can't stand to see anyone happy, so he runs over to sarcastically yell at Alicia and Tomas about how nice they look together. Tomas bravely scurries behind Alicia. Ariel stalks around complaining about the business falling apart and Alicia and Tomas having a romance at this time. Alicia adamantly denies this. There's nothing between her and Tomas. They're talking about business. Tomas protests that she's his chica, but Alicia cuts him off. Ariel doesn't believe Alicia for one second. She doesn't work, she runs around with all her little friends. Ariel declares that now that he'll be the president, everything is going to change.
Ariel brusquely walks out of the Vortex. Oh no, Alicia looks like she has an idea. Alicia and her coat take off after Ariel. Tomas chases her. Marcia walks through the Vortex and gives Lola one hell of a look. Next comes Bozo. I just "love" the way she matched her shirt to her hair. Sara watches her walk by and then turns to look at a very nervous Martha and PM.
Other than Alicia, there seems to be one other person in the office none too concerned about business - Lety! Caro doesn't understand why Lety said she'll never be happy. Lety replies that she's very confused. She's depressed & without the strength to push forward.
Meanwhile, Fernando sits in his office and stares at the "tree" Lety gave to him. Teresita enters. She wants to know what's going on with Fernando. At the meeting, it was like he wasn't even there, as though nothing that was happening affected him. Fernando tells her that it's in fact the opposite. It affected him a lot, more than she thinks. She asks him what he's planning to do. He tells her that he's doing what he should have done when he lost the presidency, resigning. Teresita thinks this is a bad idea. Now that Lety's resigned, the company needs him more than ever. He has to take charge of the company. (Okay, I know no one likes her all that much, but what about Marcia? We've always commented that she seems to be the only one that works. Just a thought.) Fernando responds that he has nothing left to do there. The most sensible thing for him to do is leave. If he does, Lety will stay. Teresita interprets this as "You're leaving is her fault?" "No, I'm leaving because of my faults." He doesn't want bother Lety anymore with his presence. Teresita doesn't understand this. Fernando explains that he and Lety were in love, and he really hurt her. She continues to suffer because of this. Teresita asks Fernando if he really loves Lety. "With all of my soul," he replies. Teresita leads Fernando around his desk. She reminds him that she doesn't approve of his relationship with Lety. Fernando says he knows, but it's over now. He's never going to get Lety back. Teresita has a genuine mother moment and tells Fernando that even though his relationship with Lety doesn't please her, Lety still should give him another chance. Fernando assures his mother that Lety does not believe him and there is absolutely no way to assure her that his love is sincere. Teresita clenches her jaw and looks away.
At the airport Aldo thinks to himself that he's going to sell everything he has in order to pay off the debt in order to give her a new opportunity at Conceptos.
Anybody else notice that Lety's looking a little chunky again? Seriously, were the wardrobe people unable to find a suit that fits so they grabbed the smallest they could find and then stuffed it with a pillow? Entonces, Lety continues to complain to Caro. Here life is in chaos. She's upset. The business is going under. Fernando's resigned & she's causing Aldo to suffer. Caro tells Lety not to worry. She thinks that Aldo's love will help him tolerate all of this and more. Lety still doesn't think it's fair to him. Caro says she would love to keep talking, but she has to leave. She's going to see Anais and they're going to work on her new program. Lety tells Caro that she's done so much for Lety that Lety could never deny Caro a favor. Caro laughs. Caro says that Lety has to come to the presentation of the program. Lety protests. She's not of the spirit to go. Caro thinks this is exactly why Lety should go. Anais really likes Lety, and it would make Anais happy to have Lety there. Lety agrees to go, but she doesn't think she'll be good company. Lety walks Caro out of the office.
The two ladies step into the vortex and share a lengthy good-bye. Caro says good-bye to the cuartel. Once Caro is gone, the cuartel rushes to Lety. There's an emergency and they must talk to her. It's about Don Fernando. Lety crosses her arms and scrunches her eyebrows.
At the beginning of the commercial break, we get an announcement that Lety's change is coming soon. They show a man with very red hair saying he would like Lety to look a little more modern. He likes her moustache. She wants Lety to keep her long hair. She would change the color to resemble the color of honey. An older woman talk about how Lety's outfits don't show off how beautiful she is. A beautiful woman says that she thinks Lety looks fine as she is. Plus, she's gotten a lot of men looking like that. Maybe all women should change to look like Lety la Fea! The man next to the woman agrees. Beauty comes from the heart.
Vocab! Yendo a pique - to sink (a boat); to fall through (a plan); to go under (a business)
AND NOW JULIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Segment 2 - A fistfight and a shocking proposal!
Thinking that Ariel is the new(est) president of Conceptos (and obviously still ignorant of his poverty), poor demented Alicia chases him out of the building. He brusquely asks what she wants. She congratulates him and tells him that she had just finished telling Marcia that he was the most qualified person to become president. He's got the intelligence, the bearing, and the wisdom. "And with a classy, elegant, poised, appealing assistant, you'll be a big success as president," she hints.
(Tomas comes around the corner, sees them, and hides.) Ariel sarcastically agrees that she'd be a great help because of her big potential. Flattered, Alicia proudly looks down to admire her big potentials. Ariel says the company needs money, so as his assistant, her job would be to get it for him. Alicia seems to be on board with this plan, despite her inability to pay her own rent. He then asks how much she thinks she can charge per night. Tomas, still peeping around the corner, is aghast. Alicia angrily calls Ariel a fool and a slob. She takes a swing at him, which he easily blocks. He steps closer and grabs her and says he's only treating her the way she deserves.
"Leave her alone!" Tomas cries. He pulls at Ariel's shoulder. Ariel whirls to confront him and Tomas punches him so fast I would have missed it if I hadn't replayed the scene in slow-motion just to be sure. Ariel quickly recovers and a brief scuffle ensues. The heretofore charming but useless Celso intervenes - he gets between the two angry men, pushes them apart, and tells Ariel to back off for the sake of his image and that of his sister. (Celso, don't forget Ariel has TWO sisters!)
"She is a woman, a lady, and you should respect her!" Tomas yells, standing in front of Alicia.
Ariel still wants to fight, but Celso points out that Tomas is upset. Ariel tells Celso to shut up and, puffing himself up and clapping his hands, orders the growing crowd to go away. Celso mildly tells them all to go back to work. Ariel tells him to shut up again. As soon as Celso backs off, Ariel lunges for Tomas, but stops short to accept his briefcase back from Celso.
"We'll see when I assume the presidency. Stupid!"
Ariel stomps away like a spoiled little kid whose overcompensating adoptive parents gave him too many presents for his birthday.
Alicia is a transformed woman, at least for the moment. She beams at Tomas and brushes the Ariel cooties off his jacket and blows in his ear. She gives him a coy giggle as she strokes his bruised knuckles.
(Oh, right... she's about to become homeless. You have to consider all possible motives when evaluating a person's behavior.)
"Oh, the pain!" Tomas moans joyfully as she blows on his hand.
Meanwhile, in the Green Pit of Boredom aka Marcia's office, Bozo (not calling her Darth today because she's showing Ferni some compassion for a change) comes in for her debriefing. (My theory about the hair: Julissa must have mortally offended one of the show's stylists.)
"What did Fernando say?" Marcia asks. Bozo says that Lety is making mincemeat of him because she doesn't believe he loves her. And in Bozo's opinion, it's for the best.
Marcia is horrified. If Fern leaves and Ariel becomes president, he's going to liquidate the company and they'll be left with nothing. Unlike Fern, he doesn't love Conceptos. He'd be happy to get rid of it.Bozo unhappily agrees that Lety needs Fern.
"Let's not fool ourselves - they make a very good team," Bozo says ruefully. Marcia is still in a tizzy about the possible fate of Conceptos. She wonders what her father would say if they lost all of his hard work, and Humberto's.
Hesitantly, Bozo suggests one possibility: perhaps the situation between Fern and Lety could be resolved. Maybe they could get engaged and married. Marcia protests very strenuously - and I'd be pretty upset too if the woman who had just a month ago urged me to fight for my stepbrother-boyfriend started telling me to hand him over to my mortal enemy on a silver platter!
Bozo tells Marcia she has to accept that Fern is never going to go back to her. She asks if Marcia's love for Fern is bigger than her pride, that she could sacrifice it for Fernando and Conceptos? She tells Marcia to think about it - the future of Conceptos and many other people are in her hands.
Marcia flashes back to when she tried to resign and Humbo talked her out of it, reminding her of how her father used to say that if anyone loved Conceptos better than the two men who founded it, it was Marcia. (I don't think they showed this entire scene before, so the rest of this "flashback" is new to me.) And if anything bad ever happened, he'd want her in his place. Ana Leticia doesn't have the head for this stuff (but I bet it floats real good), but Marcia could be his worthy representative. (What about Ariel? Did I miss something?) He (Marcia's father) could die happy, because in Marcia his name and spirit could live on.
Marcia snaps back into the present with a vengeful scowl on her face. "Leticia Padilla trapped me! [BLEEP]!!"
Segment 3 - In which more happens than in the entire month of January
In a nice restaurant, RoboPop and Humbo toast to Lety's continued presidency at Conceptos. RoboPop explains that Lety needed a bit of a timeout due to the desperation of the situation. "You know how kids are - so impulsive," he tells Humberto.
"Remember how we were," he adds. (Somehow I can't picture Erasmo being impulsive, although I'll concede that he probably was young once.) He assures Humbo that Lety thought better of it and won't abandon the company, and that she'll do whatever is needed to resolve the crisis.
Humberto hopes he's right, because Lety's very special, but this situation isn't so comfortable. He thinks it was impossible to get all that money together that the judge required, and now the judge could liquidate the company at any moment.
Erasmo says he has faith in "those kids." Humbo confides that he's not so sure about Fernando - he's not been doing well lately; he's preoccupied. Humberto is disappointed in him. Erasmo, however, says they can trust in Lety. She won't let them down. They clink glasses again.
To review:
On the left, we have Don Erasmo Padilla Galarza, who treats his grown daughter like a small child but blindly thinks she can do no wrong.
On the right, we have Don Humberto Mendiola Whatever, who seldom offers his own son any professional guidance or moral support, but still sees him as a huge disappointment who can't do anything right.
If you had a machine that could munge two people into one, and these were the two people, you wouldn't end up with an interesting new person. You'd get a big matter/antimatter reaction that would implode the whole galaxy.
(Disclaimer - I got a C in physics. The instructor was grading on a curve. A really, really sad curve. So I could be wrong about the matter/antimatter explosion, but you have to admit it would make a cool movie.)
It'd be nice if both of these guys could see their children for the human beings that they are. Or if just one of them could see, and then explain it to the other.
But I digress.
Back in the Monster Ladypart Seashell of Doom Grotto and Gossip Parlor, all the cuartel are talking at once, and I couldn't care less. Lety tells them to ask their questions one at a time so she can hear them. (I say let 'em all talk at once - it saves time.)
PM asks if Lety was going to quit. Lety says yes, for a little while she was. Then she decided to stay until the company pays off its debts. (As a courtesy to the company's executive board, it would be nice if she told someone other than her own minions.) They applaud. Sara says this means Ariel's not the new president, right? "Uh, not that I know of, no," Lety answers.
"And Fernando, he's gonna go away, right?" Juana asks anxiously. (I think she has a little crush on him.) "Yeah... he quit," Lety says sadly. Irma asks Lety if she's going to accept his resignation, or convince him to stay. Lety says no, it's best if he leaves. Best for her, best for everyone.
And now we're in Acapulco.
Aldo and Gerardo are touring the restaurant, and Aldo says how glad he is that his dream has become reality. G agrees and asks Aldo if he really wants to sell it - has he lost his mind? Aldo says yes, he's completely crazy, but he needs money. He says it's the kind of madness that can only be explained by love.
Two guys show up. Aldo gives one of them a man-hug. The other guy explains that he represents a chain of Mexican restaurants. (I assume this means restaurants that serve traditional Mexican food, as opposed to, say, pizza or souvlaki or linguiça.) Aldo rather needlessly confirms that they're here to talk about buying the restaurant.
Back in The DF, Tomas looks at Alicia's eviction notice.
"Why didn't you tell me?" he asks her. She's embarrassed, says she only got it last night, and complains that she, Alicia Ferreira, ex-wife of Mauricio Birman, is now experiencing the worst kind of poverty. (As she dabs at her nose, you can't help but notice the huge chunky ring on her hand.) She moans about how she'll have no place to pass the night, and life is sooooo unfair. She asks Tomas to help.
Tomas says he's not rich. He can give her a cell phone, pay for her meals, meals, meals, meals, but he doesn't THAT much money that he can pay five months' rent.
Inspiration strikes: Alicia suggests that Tomas sell "her" car. Tomas says he's still making payments on it; he can't sell it yet. "You don't want to help me, right?" she asks coldly. She accuses him of taking advantage of her, enjoying her company, and then when she needs him the most, he runs away like a coward. (A coward that punched a bodybuilder in the face!) She tells him she never should have trusted him, and marches out of his office, much to his disappointment.Tomas sits on the floor of his office, looking sadly at the eviction notice as if it were Alicia.
Fernando stands in his office, looking sadly at the bonsai tree as if it were Lety. He is about to leave the room when Marcia comes in, wanting to talk. She tells him he has to become president of Conceptos again. He says he's made a decision and he won't think of changing it. He appreciates her support, but he's leaving Conceptos.
She tries to beg him to stay, but he says he tried to convince Lety to stay instead, because she's the only person who can solve their problems. He's going to leave. Marcia begs him to let Lety leave, and if he accepts that he's lost her, at least he doesn't have to throw the rest of his life into the trash. He can fight for the people who matter to him.
Fernando gives a firm no and she tells him that the company will be ruined and he'll have to live with the guilt. He says yes, that guilt and many others.
"As you wish," Marcia says, putting her hands up in resignation. She leaves his office. Fern says some things I don't quite get, the gist of which is that he needs to get away and think.
Gracias a ALMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Omar stands in front of Conceptos. Celso asks if he plans to go in. Omar responds that no, he doesn’t belong here anymore. Celso notices the fat lip Omar is sporting and asks what happened. Omar replies that he got it while beating up a pregunton (slang for someone who asks - pregunta - many questions).
Saimon comes out of the building with a box of stuff for Omar. Omar asks if Saimon brought the most important item - a CD from his desk. Saimon affirms that that he did, but is anxious to know what the content of the CD is. Omar tells the boys that it’s the only thing can cheer him up right now - his collection of hotties. They beg him for a copy of it.
Just then Carolina walks by. Hearing Omar brag to the boys, she chimes in that she doubts all of his novias (girlfriends) would fit into a single CD. Omar thinks she may be right. Caro asks what he’s doing here. Celso clarifies on Omar’s behalf that he came for his stuff. Omar concurs and add that besides, this place makes him sick.
Caro thinks this is curious, because ‘this place’ gave him a job, and good quality of life. She wonders if maybe it’s the opposite; that is, maybe it was Omar who infected Conceptos. Omar gets the hint and agrees (sort of sarcastically, but also with a sort of resignation). He says she’s right, he’s the plague, but as of today, Conceptos is cured of this grave illness.
The boys are uncomfortable by this exchange and they both hold up Omar’s box so they can hide behind it. Omar bids them all farewell. Caro adds that, on a serious note, she’s sorry about what happened, and hopes he feels better soon.
Saimon comments to Caro how terrible it is that Omar is leaving. Caro adds that the story is worse… Lety has just told her Fern is leaving too. Saimon is impactado.
Marcia goes to see Lety. Lety tries to brush her off, but Marica insists. Marcia starts in about her dad’s vision for Concepto and says that now she just wants to make sure it survives. Lety says she understands, but... Marcia adds that Omar, Lety, and now Fern have all resigned in a very short span of time.
She asks if Lety wants Conceptos to be lost. Lety starts to respond but Marcia cuts her off again. She takes a deep breath and then tells Lety that when she (Lety) was in Acapulco, and Marcia found out about Lety’s affair with Fern, Marcia was not jealous, she was furious. Then when she read the infamous letter and realized he had used her. But when she confronted Fern, he confessed to her that he really was in love with Lety.
Queue the musica de impacto!
And to bring it all home….KRIS!!!!!!
L - Stop Marcia don’t continue anymore. M- You will listen to me because Fernando confessed to me that he was trapped in the middle of this game and that he loved you. He told me he was destroyed because you left and he didn’t know where to find you. He wanted to die, Leticia. I had to rescue him from a bar where they almost killed him. I took care of him in my house until he got better, and then thought I would get him back, but that was useless. He slept in my bed but he was really with you. That’s when I understood that I lost him to you.
Lety keeps trying to saying something, but Mar tells her to just listen. M - Before you I always knew he had his trysts but he always came back to me and things continued as they were, but with you it was different. He never touched me again, and he told me has hasn’t touched another woman since he fell in love with you.
L – Dona Ma… M- You have to know this because I’m the only one that lived through this with him. It was so hard for me to accept that I lost him because of you. The night he broke up with me for good he was really clear. He only loves you.
L- Why are you telling me this? M- Because I love Fer and true love isn’t selfish, to really love is to wish the best for the other even it’s not with me.
Lety says she’s really sorry about all of this and she swears she kept her promise and she never got close to him and she always rejected him everytime he came close to her. Marcia says she knows and that is why she is telling her all of this. L -Thank you Dona Marcia... M- Don’t thank me, be thankful I’m doing this for the good of the business and for him.
Lety was left impactada.
Back in Acapulco, Aldo at a hotel, tells himself he’s doing the right thing, and that he’ll only try to change one beautiful dream for another, Lety’s freedom. Ok here goes.
In his new restaurant he signs the papers to sell. His friend asks to speak to him telling him how surprised he is that he’s selling his house, his boat, his restaurant, all these things that he swore he could never be without. Aldo tells him that his objective is quite worth it, but he won’t tell him what that objective is just yet.
Then Gerardo asks him to explain what all this is for? Aldo says later, I need to be alone now.
[Yeah, you just impromptu managed to unload everything you owned in five minutes, including a sweet mansion on the cliff in Acapulco, a hot newly finished restaurant that has been waiting in the wings for several years to finally finish construction, and your cool boat, all hedged on the hope that you’ll win the heart of a woman who has already told you she is in love with someone else, whom you know darn well loves her. Yeah, I’d probably not want to have to explain that behavior to anyone else either. Do the words addict and denial ring a bell to anyone? ]
He gives Gerardo that eerie I’m ok, your ok, smile and walks off. Gerardo stares into the camera with a sort of, "you need to hit rock bottom first" concerned sort of look.
Back at Conceptos, after just unloading her seeping mushy bloodied heart onto Lety’s sleeve, Marcia is seen stomping through the vortex. She earns a few looks but no one dares say anything. Irma approaches and wants to know if there is any news. The cuartel say no.
Just then Fer walks in looking quite long and they all wonder, but Sara asks, Fer you are really going? He tells them unfortunately yes. They say they want to talk him out of it. Except for Lola, she is indifferent, obviously still poisoned against all men by Cheque.
They confirm that Lety will stay then. Fer says yes, obviously. She is a great woman and there is no problem. You are in good hands, she’s an incredible president and a great human being. She’s an angel that fell straight from heaven. She promised my Dad she would rescue the business, and I know she won’t go back on her word.He tells the cuartel he will miss them.
While he says all this, Lety has opened the door and is overhearing him. But she closes it just before he asks Irma to take care of the plant that the most important person in the world gave to him. Irma promises she will.
Just then Simon runs up to discover the horrible news that his brother is leaving. He whines and begs him to stay, he calls him the Mero Mero Zapaaaaatero. He’s corrected by Fer. Fer tells him he should take some caution and not lose the wonderful thing he has with PM. Simon decides maybe he needs to make a deal with Fer. He promises he will reconcile with Paulette Marie, what’s more, he’ll marry her, and have 10, 15, 20 kids if Fer will stay!!!! Fer says that’s a lot, and well if they do get married, don’t forget to invite him, but BYE.
Simon tells the cuartel that they can’t let Fer leave. Irma says the only one that can convince him to stay is Lety. En masse they all run in to get Lety.
They are all talking about different things in her office and no one really seems to pay attention to Lety even though they ran in to see her. Then PM remembers that she has the note from Aldo for Lety.
PM tells her that Aldo left and gave her this. Aldo left, where? I don’t know he left this….. Lety begins to read that he had to go but he’ll call later and remember he loves her and that love is freedom. They want to know what happened.
Irma asks, what are you going to do about Don Fer? Nothing, let him go. I-Are you sure? Yes. Irma tells her to look her in the eye and say that this is for the best. She wonders why Irma doubts her. Irma tells her because she can see the love in Lety’s eyes. Irma says, really, don’t you love him?
We now go to a scene I didn’t get the point of, but maybe they had to show the hotel or something. At the pool, Aldo ponders whether he should go to his house and pack or if maybe he’ll hire someone to pack them and send them to Mexico City for him. After all, things are just things.
Celso says chau to Fernie. Man hugs all around. Fer asks him to care for Conceptos. C- I’ll never sleep on the job, don’t worry. Fer tells him that’s Sanson’s job.
I’m tellin’ ya, Celso is pretty hot….
Just then, Lety runs outside. L - DON FERNANDO!! F - YOU CALLED ME DON FERNANDO!!! [You know, that affectionate very formal term that an employee would call a boss, but that Lety endearingly still called him while they were sleeping together] She nods in somewhat of a daze. Lety stands there looking like a five year old girl playing dress up in her mother’s clothes. That or a shrunken head….AND Besame a la Boca THEY KISS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND KISSSSS!!!!!!!! YEAH!!!!!!!!!!
I hope it’s not a dream!!!!!
I also hoped you enjoyed our group recap!!!!!!!

There're baaaaaaack!!!!!
Lety & Fernando. That kiss was worth the long wait. I can't wait until tonight's episode.
Thanks for that long recap.

Greetings from el mundo sin Univision. I hope my VCR taped that episode, it's a corker! And your plan to group-recap it was great. Thanks so much, team.

Great Recap guys! I was really excited to read your cross country recap! WOW... All I can say is Wow. I can't believe Marcia finally admitted to Lety and herself that Fernando only loves Lety. And the kiss... so worth the wait! You could just see the longing and passion between them. Oh and did anyone else think Omar looked kinda nice while standing outside of Conceptos? He has a very uniformed nose.

Esther

Thank you thank you thank you for the recap so soon. I saw this on youtube a few months ago, but it doesn't decrease the moment one iota. It had to be the most romantic thing I ever saw. But yes, her outfit hanging on her took a little from this scene. Can't figure what happens though, since aldo is planning to buy out conceptos or at least bring them up to par, with selling his restaurant (I got this from one of our viewers comments this week). Won't this make lety confused? even though she appears to be saying that Fernando and her are a pair now (the kiss). Here is something Ocampy forgot which would have been awesome. In Destilano de amor, when Gaviotas mom tells him that gaviota was run over by a car, he suddenly had a flashback of the scene that he saw, but walked away from. RIGHT!!! Why didn't a flashback happen when Marcia told Lety that fern was in aculpolco and got beat up. That would have been awesome, lety rememnbering that she kneeled down at his side, before walking a way. Oh well.

Food for thought. I have seen videos on youtube of the future; yet it has not changed the intensity of these nightly shows. People think knowing what will happen, will have an impact in the present. I needed to know what the future was; yet, watching each night continues to be intense as it was before I started looking at Youtube. I continue to fast forward or close my eyes and take my earphones off when aldo is with lety, for any reason or when carla was with fernando. That took the breath from me, I was so upset. I don't want to see them together. I don't want to see aldo in alcopulco selling his business and recappers suggesting that he is going to help conceptos. Cause I fear that he will try and buy lety. None of what i have seen in the past, matters. The anxiety, panic, frustration and all, are still there. Maybe cause ocampy does edit and do cuts. It is possible that things could turn out different. I watched a few that I was happy about and then when it played on tv in USA, it was a dream, which was not mentioned on the Youtube. I saw one I was devistated over and here it was a dream also, when we saw it here. So really we don't know what we are looking at.

Can someone tell me what the words were that were exchanged right before the kiss, when fern asked lety something and she nodded yes. I have replayed it a few times and can not understand it.

Marcia steps up to the plate....seriously of all these people Marcia is the stellar one...I could not have done it..I don't care how much she "loves" Fernando, of course there is Conceptos, but to help along the relationship of someone who broke you up, the one he wouldn't come back from...Well Marcia cheers to you...you are a much better person than I will ever be.
& if that is not enough, she does seem to be the only one concerned about other peoples jobs etc...
Lety put her own feelings first, she just can't work with the Don, oh she suffers too much. STFU.

On a lighter note...awesome recap..tag-team

Wow; great recap, as usual, but what an amazing team effort by all of you! At last, an episode where folks FINALLY stepped up & started speaking some sense (Darth Bozo, Marcia). And the kiss was stellar; Jaime & Angelica make a stellar team when it comes to screen kisses, I must say. I have to agree with the thumbs down for Lety's wardrobe in this episode, though. That scarf looked like a lobster bib, and the goofy suit made her look like she belonged in a Talking Heads video. I suspect they're making her look frumpy again to heighten the contrast for the big "transformation" yet to come. Speaking of which, that scares me a little. I hope they get it right this time. If they make it more "radical" than just making her be as attractive as Angelica Vale is n real life, I'll be disappointed. Looks like things are on a roll again, so we'll see! Thanks!
(Beckster: At the end, Fern said to Lety, "You called me "Don
Fernando?" to which she nodded yes. And then, the besote!

Angelica Vale & Jaime Camil have great screen chemistry..Loved last night's show..It's a shame that(their special chemistry) didn't go beyond LFMB and that Jaime Camil likes his girlfriends blonde, young, and ugly.Does anyone believe that with a two million dollar investment in Conceptos from Aldo, that he's not going to be back with all the Aldoisms?

Thanks so much everyone!
I LOVED the kiss!!!! It was way long overdue. I hadn't thought it might be a dream, I hope not.

I thought Omar looked cute, Lety really bad in her outfit, Caro not so great, Simon too Elton John in his new glasses!
One thing I was thinking as Lety was kissing Fern was that her suit looked too small and it would have been a lot nicer in something that didn't make her look chunky.

Good for Marcia, being a mature adult and taking care of business and Fern. She put them ahead of herself and I was very proud of her.

I didn't understand why Aldo had to sell everything to get enough money for Conceptos?
I thought they owed 300,000 more? All the things he sold must have been worth a lot more than that???

Wait a minute! wait a minute! wait a minute! ...Ariel has TWO sisters ??!!?? I have only been watching since January - I don't know anything about another sister - I need some background here people. An older or younger sister? Where is she? Do I need to know anything more about her - is she critical to the storyline? Come on y'all - give it up - fill me in - bring me up to speed --please!
AND Thank You for the tandem/cross-country re-cap - way cool!

I didn't get to read the entire recap yet but the kiss was awesome. FINALLY!! and seeing it on youtube first did not take away anything for me either.

I have posted translated two of Jaime Camil's univision forum posts on my blog if you want to read. I'm working on the newer ones (the last one from March 23, 2007)

Thanks for the great tag-team recap, guys. What a great episode. I fear the kiss is a dream, though.

As for Ariel and Marcia's sister, Ana-Leticia,she's not really important. I have been watching since last summer, and I never saw her until there was a big meeting a couple of months ago that involved all the family members and the business. She's sort of a flake, apparently, and rarely appears. She apparently appeared more in the earlier episodes, but her role hasn't been important in the running of the business or the relationships. Seems to me that character could have been left out.

Oh yeah and another thing of all the bad things that happened I would...could never forgive Lety for allowing my office to be painted that horrible green..oh yeah that is worth a serious death threat. There is nothing Marcia could wear that would look good in that light

Okaaaay! Finally, a great kiss, worth replaying over and over. I do fear that it will be revealed as a fantasy kiss tonight--they'll stand there and speak, with the passionate kiss only in their minds.
WHAT was wardrobe thinking with Lety's suit? It was bunchy and ill-fitting around the collar and the scarf was so ugly. Good thing Fern loves her soul.
Marcia wins a gold star for adult moment of the month, with a supporting star for Teresita. Tomas can have a star, too, for standing up to Ariel and defending his chica. More gold stars to our team of recappers! Y'all are the best!

The U.S. version kiss is longer! I watched when it originally aired in Mexico in December and remember being dissapointed that they didn't give us more after such a long wait. I don't know why they re-edited it to make it longer and more passionate, but I'm SO glad they did. Thank you Univision. Hopefully they do that with more scenes in the future. Can you imagine all the good stuff that ends up on the cutting room floor!

Last night Lety looked like her head shrunk. Well at least for a moment. Then she looked like a little girl in a women's outfit. More importantly, I noticed that Fernando looks good even from the back. What more can you ask for? He is truly tall, dark and handsome.

At the end, didn't Aldo look like he was going to get pushed into the pool from someone behind him? Poor editing.

destilando amor completely eclipsed the kiss between lety and ferni ... perhaps because in destilando we get a passionate kiss every episode.
i'm growing tired of lety's pouting and crying at work...who cries at work (openly, at their desk)?

someone must tell teresita she looks like ronald(a) mcdonald

The main purpose of Ana-Leticia was to create a name-mixup in an early episode, where a disk from Lety containing an important report got delivered to Ana-Leticia by mistake, or something.

She showed up a while later to "help" Marcia plan her wedding - she brought really weird ugly clothes and had the wrong initials on the invitations.

In the flashback to Ariel's birthday party (or saint's day, I don't remember) as a child, I didn't notice another girl in addition to Marcia. In that recap, I speculated that Ana-Leticia was probably eating paste in her room. It would explain a lot.

There were a handful of less interesting subsequent appearances. More recently, she was "Colette," the madam in Destilando Amor.

And that's my useless trivia for the day. :)

Ana-Leticia was probably eating paste in her room. It would explain a lot.
JA-JA-JA-JA-JA! ROTFL! Thanks for that background info--made my day.

Thanks for the great tag team recap. It was great!!! Love you all.

First, had to say after yesterdays mention of the pencils being point up on Lety's desk that by the next scene they were all point down again. Important stuff here!

All I can say is I hope the kiss was not a dream sequence. I had tears rolling down my face (I just let myself get too involved!) so it better be true. LOL

So glad Marcia became a better person than I could ever be and tried to help Lety see the light with Fernando.

And that Alicia, what a scammer. That Tomas needs to drop her like a hot potato. Even though I hate Ariel at least he showed her his true feelings when she came on with that phony act about thinking he will be a great president and she will be his great assistant. I work with someone who operates this same way and is always switching teams based on who is going to help her the most.

Can't wait to see what happens tonight. On pins and needles.

P-in-O

I bet if Aldo had been in town,Lety woouldn't have gone after Fernando. Aldo would have had her pinned down on the desk, or in her chair with a grope/massage.

I'm glad Caro said all that stuff to Omar. He was a bad influence on Fer, and she called him on his "pity party". He had it pretty good at Conceptos.

Teresita finally gives up her dream of Marcia/Fer union & jolts Marcia out of her "I'll wait for him" fantasy and into taking action to save the company.
Now, that's a businesswoman!

Why did they make Lety wear that padded "fat suit"?It was hideous! What, she gained 20 lbs. after the Expo? Lety gets 10 points for going after her man, -2 for ugly suit.

Fernando looked different in the parking lot with Lety - older, a little tired, and that fit perfectly with what he was going through. His hair looked good with a little wave in it & less gel. Broken record - he is so so so guapisimo, handsome, beautiful. So is his sweet soul.

THE KISS! OMG. Fer was so intense, I could feel it myself!

"Reunited and it feels so good......"
Peaches & Herb, "Reunited"

Maria- What was the importance of Don Fernando???? When you said that he said, "you called me don Fernando??" Was that a good thing. It was me that had asked about this.

Ret

What is the significance of Lety's calling Fer "Don Fernando" right before the kiss. What has she been calling him before?
And yes that suit made her look very matronly. Maybe that was her mom's suit. And speaking of her mom, Julietta looks like she has on a fat suit too.
Anyway that kiss was so worth the wait. Folks, They're baaaack!!!

PLEASE--can someone tell me the ending date (or at least approximately) of LA FEA ? I must start preparing myself. Thanks Goodness I like DESTILANDO!

Long time reader, first time commenter (just kidding)....it feels like forever since I posted a comment on here, and I'm going to visit some things from last week.

First and foremost, thanks for the wonderful recap. What a great team effort and your styles blend so well together. As always, a pleasure to read your work.

Secondly, from last week, did anyone notice that the bar where Carol ran into Omar was called "Canalla". Just thought that was fitting after the words exchanged in the fight betw. Omar and Fer. Speaking of the fight, wow was it intense, such great acting between our two hot galans.

I cried along with Fer when he was reading Lety's diary and I have to admit I probably would have read her diary too if I was in a similar place. I am glad he told her he did it, I'm sure she'll get over it. Again, kudos to Jaime for his wonderful acting talent. Even if you didn't understand Spanish, anyone could have understood those scenes. I really think Fer's well on his way to achieving his well needed growth and maturity. He's finally admitting to people his love for Lety---he told Irma and yesterday Mama Bozo.

Also, thanks Amanda for the kill the cook clip. I laughed and when Johnny Depp walked into the kitchen, I was really hoping it would be Aldo in there.

The scenes last week with Fer in the bathroom junta and also between Fer and PM, when he was demanding she get Lety on the phone, were also really good. Nuirka is surprisingly a very good actress (don't know why it surprises me, but it does). Someone mentioned that the cuartel members, each on their own, are tolerable, but when you put them all together they are just way too much.

Alpo (love that nickname) was just too much last week. I've not be his biggest fan, that's for sure, but he needs to slow down and back off (figuratively and literally).

Kudos to Marcia for telling Lety the truth about Fernando's feelings and releasing Lety from that STUPID promise to stay away from Fer. Marcia has redeemed herself in my eyes.

Alicia and Tomas, just too funny. I really hope these two end up together.

Omar, didn't your heart go out to him yesterday, standing outside Conceptos.

Carol, she needs to have the dramatic eye make-up back.

Mama Bozo, she needs to have a natural haircolor back and forget the eye shadow all together. Good for her for finally being a mother to Fer. However the actress playing the part needs to refine her craft. What a terrible acting job (IMHO).

Lety's outfit, looked like she was drowning in it and the shoulderpads, I don't care if they are coming back, make any and everyone look like a linebacker.

Finally, the kiss.....I hope it wasn't a dream because I've been waiting for this for a long time. I miss seeing Jaime's kissing scenes. They make me melt and I get all warm and fuzzy inside, I don't know-- maybe wishing it was me on the receiving end. :-)

Since her return to Conceptos, Lety has been making a point to refer to Fernando as Señor Fernando. She's called him Don Fernando snidely and also when she's talking to herself. So her calling him Don Fernando last night was kinda like she's back to thinking of him like she did before

OMG that kiss! Too bad I'm convinced it is just Fern's little dream. If they were kissing like that this show would be over by the end of the week since neither one of them could deny their feelings. My guess is that Lety will run to stop him but will just miss him and we'll be saddled with Alpo returning with a sack of dinero. I can't believe he could get a dime for a restaurant that never even opened. And I think I posted a few days ago that i thought his next move would be to try and buy Lety via Conceptos. I hope she has the sense to turn his offer down. I don't think Don H wants the firm to incur more debt.

That green office is hideous and when Bozo was standing there with her flaming wig all I could think of was that Christmas must be close.

Points to marcia for spilling the truth of Fern's feelings - but too bad she didn't say she had to go to Acapulco to find him in a bar.

I felt really sorry for Omar who looks almost as spiritually beaten as Fern. He was much more low key about his novios and amantes than usual and it crossed my mind that he is a really lonely man. I also thought that sweater and jacket combo was ugly but maybe it was meant to show how subdued he may really be.

Ariel and Tomas and their little dust up reminded me of a pair of runty dogs going at it. All bark and not much bite. In a lot of ways Tomas is an idiot but no one is going to mess with or insult "his chica". I'm convinced he is going to wear Alicia down because he seems to be the one person on earth who gives a rat's behind about her.

Geeze I was almost late to a doctor's appointment this morning because I had to watch that kissing scene one more time. Wow are they ever hot together and they make the relationship between Fern and Lety look so real. Contrast that with those disgusting scenes between Emilio and Alina in Duelo and those two were having a real life affair when they were shot. They always look like big mouth bass going at it.

Omar is breaking my heart and Caro looked and acted a lot less like her usual glam fun, outgoing self. Except for the two viejo's and Fern everyone looked bland, fat, dumpy, ugly and badly dressed last night. Wardrobe and makeup must have taken the day off. Even PM wasn't showing her wares as much as usual.

I am so hoping it wasen't a dream I think it is but i dont want it to be.Its nice to finally have some action espcially since all of january was mostly filler and nothing happened.I heard there is still like 2-3 months left what is there left to cover they are really streatching it out to long. In my opinion it should have been done a while ago even though it is my favorite novela

For those who feel the need to know even more useless information about this epic production.

The show that Angelica Vale was on before this, canned her cause she got too fat..Seriously, I used to troll the other websites and those people got the goods, anyway she said she realized she needed to lose wt...so as part of her contract w/ the lovely Rosy O'Campo, Angelica Vale had to lose like 20 kilos. Anyhow, you don't see it cause of the wardrobe choices. Also this episode occured right around Dec 10th or 11th..and the last two weeks of the show were only 1/2 hour, but the gran was 3 hours...so you still got like 2.5 months to go, so don't be placing any bets yet.

HI all!
I found your summaries about a month or so ago, but have never commented before. I just wanted to say BIG thanks for the hilarious recaps. You do a terrific job.
I'm watching novelas to learn Spanish - this is my 5th one. I also saw all of Betty la Fea and have these few comments: Jaime Camil is stunning in his role, Angelica Vale does some great acting, but I wish she (or the directors) hadn't chosen to make Lety so freakish. The original Betty was much more appealing. And I am blown away by Pati Navidad's Alicia. Though she has a fixed schtick like the cuartel, she is never wearing. Also, I like that the writers kept the underlying tragedy of her character - this was given up for comedy in Betty.

Again - MANY thanks!
p.s. - you may have covered this before, but what does "tlacoyo" mean?

I'm not watching any other novelas and can't get Telemundo (for Zorro) on my satellite, and don't like the average "soap opera".
Consequently I will be really sad when La Fea ends!
Although it sometimes drags and is annoying, I love the whole motley group of characters!!!

After Alborada I didn't think I would find another I liked as well. To my surprise I finally broke down and got into Fea.
Handsome Fern got me started and kept me coming back for more.
Kisses like last night just add the fuel to the fire!!!!!

All in all I guess I am grateful for Rosy for her extensions.
It will be depressing when it is all over.
I will miss the show and all the fun I've had reading the recaps and comments from everyone!

Carrie L.

IF Fer's mom had not given marcia the whole pep talk about what needed to happen in order for Conceptos to survive (you know- about Marcia's dad and humberto, etc etc), would Marcia have gone into Let's office and given her the "go-ahead?" I do wonder

Anon 2:52

If Bozo hadn't gone to Marcia with that pep talk hell would have frozen over before she went to Lety. I will give her credit for admitting that Fern told her how much he loved her. She took a good hard look, realized that Bozo was right, Fern would never come back and acted in the best interests of the company and Fern. She showed a ton more class than I would have thought she would. So unlike Lety who seems to feel that everyone is lying to her when they keep telling her Fern truly loves her and of course she won't believe a word he says. She better wake up soon or she'll end up stuck with that manipulative wuss Alpo. I wonder if she'd believe the truth if Omar were to tell her?

Ok, I added this explanation to the recap (the conversation was already in there by the way, sorry if it's not clear)but in the beginning Lety always called Fer the polite "Don" like a proper employee ought to. Funny thing to me is, even in private when they were sleeping with each other, she continued to call him "Don." To me that was a hint that this might not have been a good relationship for her. OK, so then after "the letter" when all heck broke loose and Lety had to come back and work at Conceptos, she stopped calling him Don, and started calling him everything else under the sun, like Senor Mendiola, Licenciado, or even just Fernando a couple of times I thought. Sooooo it was significant to him that she called him "Don," just like in old times when he was happily courting her. Anyway there you have it.

Tlacoyo is a type of food, a sort of bread like cake or roll made with corn, we have hereafter dubbed it corncake. It is common or traditional. A tlacoyote is apparently a sort of a raccoony, dog like animal that lives in parts of Mexico and some have said maybe this is what was being referred to. We here have adopted the food reference. Alicia always calls Lety a Tlacoyo Bigoton (bigoton=giant moustache), which in our vernacular is translated as mustached corncake.

"things are just things" one of the few times I understood what was said when watching lfmb. cosa=thing
I got it right away: las cosas son cosas.
(Maybe when it comes right down to it, either ald has a certain philos or he doesn't.)
Accord altavista this is supposed to be spanish for Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is: Ponga Su Dinero Donde Está Su Boca;
and this is supposed to be Put Up Or Shut Up: Ponga Para arriba O Cierre Para arriba;
or this one Be True To Yourself: Sea Verdad A Se.

What I really need is a genuine local-saying from a spanish-speaking country.
I got this possibility but no spanish for it:
Between saying and doing there is a long road.

Of course maybe he wasn't trying to avoid being a hypocrite, just trying to be practical:
If you want your eggs hatched, sit on them yourself (If you want a thing done well, do it yourself)

Or realistic:
If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans

Or, my personal favorite, he's decided to be like Zorba the Greek:
Take what you want and pay for it says God
(Toma lo que quieres, dice Dios, y pagalo)

/mab

Yes, I too like Omar's nose...well, everything else is ok too....

"eating paste in her room" Julie:
hahahahahahahahahahahahaha *gasp*
hahahahahahahahahahahahaha

my grannie referred to this sort of problem as --
"they dropped her on her head when she was a baby"

I like your saying better.
hahahahahahahahahahahahaha

/mab

Before when Fer & Lety were secret lovers, back in the good ole days and she called another guy Don whatever, it drove Fer crazy...he was so jealous, it happened when they went to Germany,

mab, ok above, I'm perplexed and curious. I can't always tell if you are being satirical or kidding in some way, so I may be ignorant of a grander purpose to your words.

[Usually your posts require extra interpretation for me to grasp, because you seem a plane above with your creative expression and I fear I miss a lot of your points/ideas because they are deeper than my brain wants to contemplate for the moment.]

Sooo, I say this with that in mind:

Actually the part referred to when translating "things are things" was when Alpo really said "los objectos solo son objectos", literally meaning objects are only objects.

But if we were to express the same sentiment in english we probably would have used the word "things" so after toying with it, I consciously decided to put in "things" instead of "objects."

But if you had no hidden meaning in your post that I missed, and you were referring to the same part in the episode, I say it would be funny if you thought you understood something 'one of the few times,' that actually wasn't said after all, (i.e. cosas). Though, you ultimately still got the fundamental vibe right and your comprehension in actuality surpasses the mere literal! :)

Since I watch Lety's and Fer's kisses over and over
I believe he's the best kisser of them all. No one
comes close. Maybe it's the intensity but also the
style. It's never ugly. It's always beautiful. Watch
any kisses on tv or movies and none are as beautiful
and meaningful as his. Think I'm a fan?
Also muchos gracias for the recaps. You all do
a superb job

They probably did drop Ana-Leticia on her head as a baby, but by the time of Ariel's birthday party I bet she was old enough to eat paste. Either that or they were too cheap to hire another kid for that scene. Or maybe I just didn't notice her. :)

Ouch, I just realized I kept sayiing "Aldo" throughout my recap instead of the proper name "Alpo." Sorry about that. ;)

"extra interpretation" k:

no - that's not it - its frm 4-6 yrs old timeframe

my parents didn't do it physically; nor was there any paste around

they just said to me from time to time:
"the gypsies left you on the doorstep"

and it accomplished the same thing as paste
or dropping(s)

(I'm even worse in person bcs I talk too fasssst

loc gov earlyclosingday - 10 min - gotta go

Didn't we all of snack on paste once or twice? My sister preferred dirt but I remember eating paste a time or two. VBG

I'm really upset because while my DVR bugged out on the LFMB at precisely 8:00 P.M. my VCR which I use to tape the overtime pooped out on me last night. I love keeping those little previews separately for fast jolts of energy during the day and now i don't have all those kisses DRAT!

Alpo is an idiot! He sells his unopened life dream restaurant, his house and I guess that ratty boat to get money to go buy Lety. What a fool - doing it all on the strength of a couple of very tepid kisses at the beach. The woman has repeatedly told him she doesn't love him and is now fudging about loving Fern but still he throws everything away on the chance she will be his. What's he going to do when she chooses Fern and leaves him out in the cold. On the other hand considering the way he acts he will probably begin laying a silent guilt trip on her the moment he gets back to the DF. And since Lety is a spineless dolt she's likely to think she has to go with Alpo because he has sacrificed so much for her. Yeah right!

Loved the group effort...one would think you had all worked together for years.
PLEASE don't tell me that kiss was a dream..I must say the thought never occured to me until several bloggers posted it.
Also happy to know most of you are as entranced with Fernando's kisses as I am. Never, since that pivotal scene between Yul Brynner and Deborah Kerr in the King and I have I seen such chemistry...was beginning to think I was just a "dirty old woman" but clearly I am not alone. Jaime Camil is the best (better than Rodrigo for all you Destilando fans) Judy B.

Thanks for the team recap! LOVED the kiss (see what can happen when hypnotic chiclets are out of the office.) It never occurred to me the kiss could be a dream. We deserve it to be for real...the audience has suffered enough.
Anon 4:40, totally agree with everything you said about Fern's kisses. The man needs to be in Hollywood doing romantic comedies.
Agree with all who are giving Marcia credit. Never expected that from her.

Teresa

Whoa now that is just wrong...Rod is awesome & he has enough sense not to have to work around braces..& he also has a nevah ending supply of Tequila

THANK YOU for not referring to Aldo as Alpo - that is so totally offensive. We don't all share the opinion that Aldo is a character to make fun of.

Thank you for the recap...so happy to find you and get these translated recaps...I have a co-worker explain the details but now I don't need to bug her anymore...thx again...and the kiss, it was wonderful!

Anon 6:36, Aldo lover, please do tell. Elaborate for us as to why you don't think he should be made fun of.

Is he different than any other character in LFMB with respect to fun making deservedness?

That is, I'm curious whether any or none of the other characters is worthy of tease, in your opinion, to get a sense of your overall perspective. Thanks!

Thank you Anon 6:36. I also happen to like Aldo. I don't consider him bad like some people, and I do think he's going to wind up hurt, but then it's a telenovella and someone has to. I think he's very much like Bill Pullman's character in Sleepless in Seattle - a nice guy but no competition for Tom Hanks, or Jaime Camil in this case. If he sold all that stuff, it's because he's in love. Cut the guy some slack (though I do hate the "bent over the desk" move as much as everyone else). If this is like any Harlequin Romanance ever written (or any romantic movie ever made), Lety will wind up with Fernando, so give Aldo a break.

And I agree with everyone else that this collaborative recap was great! I couldn't survive this show without you guys!!! Thanks!!!

Kim P.

Poor Aldo..alas always the galan never the Sancho
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Sancho

(students at my school taught me this lovely phrase)

There's Aldo, scraping together pesos from the sale of his mansion, restaurant, and Giorgio Armani "Academy of Jeans" blazer, while Fernando plants the kiss of the century on Lety.

Ay, caramba! Anonymous 4:40 p.m., you are so right. Fernando's kisses have it all. I crawled across the livingroom floor to get a closer look at the TV.

Just wondering . . . when was the last time any of us got kissed like that? Waaaaah!
Marie from Mass

Beckster thanks for the Urban Dictionary link. I can't wait to try out all that hip lingo on my peeps (there is nothing nerdier than me trying to talk all slang).

Still rivoting from the kiss.....can't wait for tonight's show in t-minus three minutes.

thanks for the link beckster, i was wondering what it meant but was afraid to ask/find out.

Now Beckster...be fair, it takes a genius to work around braces and still plant a unforgettable kiss the way Jaime does. AND have you ever noticed his beautiful hands and how he places them tenderly around her face....ay caramba...no amount of tequila can equal that! But hey, I appreciate your loyalty to toothy Rodgrigo...you know, come to think of it, he DOES have an overbite...not too late for braces? Just kidding...Judy B.

Wow, Amanda, Julie, Alma, and Kris, thanks for this impressive team project (Geez, Louise! Four of you???!) What a delightful recap!

Amanda, I was worried that your suspicion about why Aldo was selling was correct, and since I didn’t have time to read yesterday’s recap until tonight, I now know that he appears to be doing exactly what you predicted. Oh, drat!

I love the recappers description of Tere with the red hair. I grew up in a Chicago suburb with the original Bozo on WGN Channel 9, and it was wonderful. She definitely looks like that, especially with her red, red lips and pronounced lip liner. !Si solamente ella supiera!

Amanda, I thought I was hallucinating about Lety’s shoulder pads that make her look like a linebacker, so thanks for validating me.. What’s up with that? Is she supposed to be fading into fealand again?

In her own way, Tere might actually be giving some good advice mixed with the basura she dishes out. There’s a surprise.

Julie, I love it when you digress. It is ALWAYS diverting. I agree that the cuartel is BORING! (For those of you old enough, think Joann Worley on “Laugh-In” from the 1960s-70s. That sign she made when she signed “boring” is the real deal).

Alma, great summary of Marcia’s and Lety’s “chat.” Wasn’t that painful? I had to feel sorry for Marcia even if I don’t like her very much. She did a really magnificent thing.

Kris, I’m with you….I was afraid it was a dream and hoped it wasn’t. It remains to be seen. Now, on another topic, how on earth did you all put that together so fast and so seamlessly? What a marvel! Kudos to all four of you!

Ah, the KISS......finally.....

Jeanne

Hello, Anon 4:03! You were looking for a dicho?

>I got this possibility but no >spanish for it:
>Between saying and doing there is >a long road.

Del dicho al hecho, hay mucho techo.

Learned from Bernarda in La Tormenta, believe it or not!

Haven't seen this ep yet, but can't resist the recap. Thanks, all!
