Destilando/Thursday, courtesy of ANONYMOUS!

Our Thursday blogger suddenly left us. Here is a recap left by Anonymous - who'd be welcome to take the slot if he/she likes...

A quick snapshot of the action, from my memory and a glance at esmas.com:

Aaron tells Gavi that he's giving her a bonus for the work she did prior to the junta. First she declines, then he tells her to use it to go shopping for some clothes for her new position as his assistant. They have an appointment with the tequila regulators.

The evil corporate guy Quintana makes an unkind suggestion to Gavi about what she did to merit the bonus. She takes her bonus, socks him, and signs off of the bonus.

Rodrigo reports to the cantina and informs Crispin and James that the search is off. Gavi knows where to find him.

Bruno is not on board with Turquoise Tequila. Aaron tells his daddy that he's really a nothing and gets socked in return. Bruno demands that Aaron better bring in some cash with the new enterprise and storms out.

Acacia is fingering her musicbox and remembering when James gave it to her. Meliton demands to know where she got the musicbox and smashes it to the ground. She cries and picks on the broken pieces.

Gavi comes back to work in a bright red short skirt and matching pumps and handbag, all ready for their business meeting!

James sneaks back to Meliton's hacienda with a bunch of red roses, fumbling along the walls in the dark and talking to himself out loud. He starts opening doors looking for his beloved Acacia...He opens the door and there is Meliton's flabby arm draped over Acacia, the two of them are asleep together. James ducks back out into the hall and sinks to the ground. The horror!

The tequila regulators are impressed by Gavi's presentation. One takes Aaron aside and asks where he found Gavi. Aaron says that Gavi found him.

James packs his bags, Acacia cries.

Minverva threatens Aaron about Gavi, she heard from Elvira that he had gone out with Gavi.

Clarita wakes up and freaks out about Gavi working for the Montalvos (maybe it was the outfit Gavi came home in). Gavi assures her that it will be fine.

James comes back to the Montalvo hacienda in a fugue state. Roman and Rod have to get him out of the car. James is going back to Londres.

Gavi kindly gives the prof some of her cash for helping her out with the project and the reclaims Rod's watch at the pawnshop.

Elvira says some nasty words to Gavi about the state of her relationship with Aaron.

Thank you, anonymous benefactor, for posting that! I watch Destilando fairly religiously now, but Thursday is a tough night and I missed it yesterday.

Thanks alot...I only saw a couple of minutes as I was whoring around with my friends on Grey's....I did see the fugue state of James..WTF happens to men that live in Tequila Acres...all the sudden they are sooooo sheltered...I mean didn't he wonder why the Uncle called her in the bedroom each night? or why he hit her...or here's a thought why a young sheltered girl like that was so sexually aggressive? Oh...James that is soooo cute, you thought it was you didn't you? James is from England...I am sure there has been many a documentary about the kind of abuse the Uncle is doing...Hell it is on Dr Phil at least four times a month....Rod move over, make room for James on the AssHat couch of shame...

Thank you , Anonymous Good Person. Was this the episode that Gavi grabbed Elvira by the lapels and told her [I think] to stop gossiping about her?? The new outfit was a surprise. That skirt was a little short for corporate America, I think, and probably likewise in Mexico. Minervaaa is getting herself all wound up. No one can throw a hissyfit quite like our Chantal...Does this rage come easily to her? Is it type casting? James really fell head over heels for the slightly spooky Acacia very fast ---reminds me of Cristobal and Paulina's 45 minutes in Italy before falling in love. I would like to see HotRod making love to someone soon. I'm beginning to not care who it is. I just need to see him do something other than his current routine : drinking tequila, yelling and crying, sleeping it off, resisting Isa's charms, visiting grandpa's grave, drinking tequila, yelling and crying, etc.^^^Susanlynn, yelling and crying

My thought yesterday was: can James really think Acacia WANTS to go to bed with her ugly, smelly, drunk, mean uncle? Where's his brain? I guess we all know.

Rod was much more fun tonight. I'm glad he's "forgotten" about Gaviota. As for Minerva and Isa, each of them has only one song to sing (much like Gaviota, wish she'd get a new one).

I am getting a kick out of Elvira. She is a nightmare of bitterness and resentment. And the actors who played dear Felipe and simpering Asuncion are playing very different types on this show.

OK, despite my disappointment w/Rod recently, there was a new angle that I liked:

When Rod and Isa were in the living room at the hacienda and she asks where Rod was all day.
-At the cantina.
-All day?
-Yes.

Then he says to her in deadpan seriousness, not breaking a smile or showing any warmth at all:
-James is in love. Very in love.

(in contrast to you know who...)

Thanks anonymous recapper. I have to agree with you all and James' seat on the couch of shame. He was being beyond stupid. Aside from the obvious (how could she want to sleep with her ugly, mean uncle), she cowers in fear of him. Clearly she does not willing consent to this. Though Rod's is getting on my nerves, James' reaction to her making him the winner in the "you have got to be the dumbest man on the planet" award. Stupido!!

Hang in there Susanlynn. Though I want Rod to get some lovin' too, I really can't bear it being with TWB. She plucks my last nerve and her constant temper tanturms are past old. You've tried your charms on him and they don't work. Find a new ploy or divorce him already.

Anonymous at 10:40 I agree with you. That scene was hilarious. I actually thought Rod was progressing because he was not only not totally drunk but made allusions to himself as he was talking about James.

Hey those of you who know your novelas and were commeting on the staircase at Aaron and Minnie's house, well based on the previews for Monday you were completely on the money. I admit I rewinded the scene because it was so ridiculous and hilarious. Can't wait 'til Monday!

Karen

Unfortunately, my tape ran out and I missed it! I am glad for the quick post from anonymous!

Sure wish I could have seen Gavi sock Quintana!!! I'm sure it won't be the last time she punches a guy out!

And Melinama, you are right on about James!! -Becky T

Karen, I swear I had no idea it was going to happen... and certainly not so soon! I figured Minnie'd be a good 7 months along, at least. And I sort of thought she'd throw herself down the stairs in a fit of jealous spite and possibly die.

What I saw tonight looked like she either fell or got pushed and didn't want to get hurt. (And it did NOT look like a stuntwoman... seeing anyone fall down the stairs makes me feel a little nauseous, it's too scary!)

Minnie hasn't fallen yet on the West Coast... I am nervous with anticipation!

For anyone who was depending on a summary of Destilando on Thursday, over in Telenovela World in the forum of Destilando there is a person (Jeri) who posts summaries and they are good. So just wanted to tell you people. :)

Thank you Anonymous and all the rest of you Destilando recappers. I've been so busy this week that I am just now (Saturday morning catching up on the recaps. Wow, a lot has happened and changed this week...except Rod who has been crying and boozing it up since last Friday. Oh well, as a teenager I used to get bored with my own angst after three or four days so maybe Rod will too.

I'm still disturbed with this Acacia business. It's just as horrible as we suspected. Ugh.

Anonymous, again THANK YOU for doing Thursday's recap! I wish you would consider doing them regularly, you have a knack for it. My favorite quote of the recap: "She takes her bonus, socks him, and signs off of the bonus." That's our Gavi!!

Thanks for the recap, anonymous! I only watched part of Thursday, then went to the store, thinking I could catch the recap Friday. We don't thank our recappers enough. I didn't mean to get hooked on Destilando, but it's too cheesy to pass up. Besides, I like the outdoor scenery at the hacienda and the business administration techniques are almost like getting an MBA online.

First of all, I'll say ditto to everything Susanlynn 10:18 said. Now, on to James. He really aggravates me. His voice grates on my nerves (strike 1). His eyes popping out of his head when he talks,(strike 2). Falling in love with Acacia instead of recognizing that she needed help out of an abusive situation (strike 3). After finding her in bed with her uncle it still didn't dawn on him that the poor girl she needs help. Instead, he's crying and acting as if he has been betrayed.

When I was a teenager, I remember one time my mom wouldn't let me leave the house wearing too tight jeans and a low cut see through blouse. I'll never forget her famous words. Dressed like that, you're asking for trouble. That's exactly what I thought when I saw Gavi seductively dressed in that red mini skirt. When Aaron made a pass she had the nerve to be insulted. She doesn't realize that Aaron hasn't a clue why she was so insistant on working for him or why she's working so hard and being so protective of him. Knowing how some men think, I can see how he could have interpreted her behavior as a mixed message.

Thanks anonymous recapper!
The whole Acacia thing creeps me out no end, and that includes James. I'm afraid Acacia is going to end up pregnant by James. Icky.

I was surprised at Gavi's short skirt, too. "Asking for trouble" - LOL. Sometimes Mom was right.
How did Gavi get past Clarita in that?

Why in the world is Rodrigo staying with Isa? I'm past tired with that. She's as dumb as he is.

when will Gavi and Rod meet again?
I wish you have a scene that Gavi
has to go to Hacienda so the two of them has a scene together that would add a lot of excitement in the story!
thanks
SB
