Destilando 6/6: Smarmy Frankie gets lucky. Sofia continues with the Chinese Water Torture approach to ensuring inheritance.

Once again captions have disappeared from local Univision. Tonight was the first time I've ever recapped without reading the screen! So it's going to be vague - feel free to fill in details. Hopefully subtitles will be back by next week.

Gaviota is depressed, she wants to hide away and sleep, she feels bad about bagging her job at Montalvo's but she can't take any more. Italian Bennie has taken the two jimadoras off to Cuernavaca for R&R but Gav just mopes around, tears leaking from her eyes, which can't do much for Bennie and which even de-bounces her mom somewhat.

Smarmy Frankie is lurking around Isa, in the dark, saying her husband should be dedicated to her, he shouldn't abandon such a marvellous woman (pours on the compliments). She cries, cue the sexy saxophone music and they have at it. Afterwards she tells him to get out, she vvvvannts to be alone.

Meanwhile Rod drinks in a bar, listening to a love song, kisses-of-yore-ing. (We need a better term for flashbacks which include nothing but kisses and embraces. And by the way these kisses-of-yore flashbacks are as tired as Rod's wornout cassette, we need some NEW kisses and enough already with the old ones.) Rod is way too drunk to drive so he spends the night in a hotel conveniently near the bar (but he still drives there, shame).

Gav, in Cuernavaca, cries and remembers Christmas Eve, how they kissed and he told her she's the only woman he's able to love.

Next morning Sofia and Grannie are sitting around the mansion doing nothing, as usual. A phone call with Elvira reassures them: Rod is at work and Gav isn't. Sofia gets a greasy obnoxious smile and tells Pilar: This means Rod and Mariana Franco were NOT together last night (Christmas) ...

At the office, Rod is not working; he is making many phone calls, maybe all to the same number, trying to find Gav/Mariana. Oñate pops in with more crooked documents to be signed. Rod actually asks a question about the tequila and the ports in question! [Without captions, I could not capture the details of the business conversations.] Rod signs. Oñate, wearing his yukky Uriah Heep smile, wants Mariana to sign too.

[If somebody peered over a document at ME with that creepy self-satisfied grin - I would not sign. -- Ed.]

Videgaray shows up and tells Rod: "You're being used, by Aaron, to cover up dirty business, and other tequila kingpins are beginning to realize there's something suspicious going on at Montalvo Inc. -- and it's your head plastered on the bullseye." Rod is impactado into - and out of - the commercial break.

Videgaray reiterates: "Aaron is not the man you grew up with." He suggests Rod do some investigating himself in three ports Videgaray suspects to be part of the "irregular" shipments - but insists Rod keep it completely to himself. He says some employees and possibly even family members are probably involved, and he shouldn't tell anybody what he's up to. Rod tells Videgaray he completely trusts Mariana and would like to share this investigation with her - but of course she's not around.

In Cuernavaca Italian Benny pops in with breakfast for the girls and a day of sightseeing is planned. Gav is very lackluster. Benny says she should see a shrink, he happens to know a great one. After some resistance Gav agrees to go.

Pilar and Sofia, since they have nothing else to do, traipse into Rod's office. He's still trying to call Gaviota. They ask if he's serious about leaving Isa. He says yes. Sofia asks nosy questions. He says stay out of my personal business and reiterates: I don't love Isa. Sofia asks, "Where were you last night?" "In a hotel alone - hoping to avoid the very inquisition I'm getting right now. And Mariana is gone on vacation and I don't even know where." He says he'll take care of Isa (oh, I'm sure her lawyer will see to that). Grannie and Sofia want him to move back home.

The travel agent calls Elvira to give Rod his full itinerary for the upcoming super-secret secret spying mission. Elvira helpfully repeats all the details with clarity as Oñate listens around the corner (twirling his moustache and memorizing every word). He gives her candy. [Operant conditioning.]

Rod comes out, snatches his itinerary, asks Elvira if anybody knows about it, she says no, he reminds her it's a super-secret secret and she should be more discreet.

Oñate, who suspects Videgaray has instigated Rod's planned investigation, calls Aaron. Aaron goes ballistic, fearing that his whole scheme will be exposed. He orders Oñate to figure out some way to keep Rod from figuring out what's going on in the three ports. Minerva overhears the furious phone call and comes in asking cheerfully: "Oh, is this about your irregular exports?" "Shut up," Aaron explains as he pinches her lips closed and tells her it's a super-secret secret.

Patricio and Aaron have a very unfriendly conversation - I think Aaron's ordering Pat to help Oñate hide the illegal shipments (if anybody wants to add details, please do). Lluvia comes in - I don't think Patricio's told her about the crooked stuff he's been lured into. Aaron has a kneejerk lascivious reaction to his former lover. Pat sends him packing.

Isa is ripping big pink bows off her Christmas tree, doorbell rings, it's Smarmy Frankie, he wants to pick up where they left off last night, she seems pissed and tells him to go try his "my phone is broken may I please use yours" line someplace else, he says he's nevvvver done anything like this before, he grabs her, she says suéltame (let me go) and then they grab each other and go at it again and the clothes start to come off and - cue the doorbell!

"It's Rodrigo!" she hisses and they both start to put their clothes back on, but no, it's Sofia, who's come to reassure Isa that Rod was NOT with Gav last night and - yes - to urge her for the 1500th time to reconcile with Rod for the good of the family (ie for Sofia's own inheritance). Isa says she's decided never to go back but Sofia doesn't take no for an answer and just nags, nags, nags.

[When we did this, my mother would unsympathetically mock us, saying "drip, drip, drip." She called this kind of nagging "Chinese Water Torture." -- Ed.]

Meanwhile smarmy Frankie is fakely pretending to make a phone call (to justify his presence) and Sofia eyes him. He leaves ("Thanks, neighbor!") and Sofia, favorably impressed by his purple shirt and sleazy aura, says she'd like to be introduced to him. Isa looks unenthusiastic, then tells Sofia: "I'm leaving town to get over the pain Rod's caused me, I'll visit friends in Acapulco." Sofia gets teary thinking about the possibility that due to Isa's divorce she, Sofia, may one day have to raise herself up off the sofa and go get a job. They say goodbye. Smarmy Frankie is lurking in the hallway - after Sofia leaves he's right back trying to munch on Isa some more. Isa isn't in the mood because Rod could come home at any moment and she doesn't need more problems.

Rod rehashes to James ("She doesn't believe in my love!") while Gav, simultaneously, rehashes in Cuernavaca to the Virgincita ("When I looked in his eyes, I believed - but afterwards, not so much...")

Italian Bennie takes her to see his friend Dr. Erica the psychologist who is, of course, a babe. Gav recaps her dilemma yet again and asks Dr. Erica if it's possible that a man could really love only one woman as Rod swears is the case...

Tomorrow: at least one brand new never-thought-bubbled-before kiss!

Very good recap..I haven't seen it yet, but I was betting the door knocker would be Sofie...She must pick up some hormonal scent and like an animal she is forced to follow it..You'd think Isa would tell her to call first...first Aaron mid boink now Frankie...

How come this family of AssHats are so concerned about Rod, I mean I would think Aaron's female exploits would keep them totally busy...

Okay...okay I just watched it and gotta comment while it is still fresh...Beni, I am seriously tired of him...he is more Italian than the Pop....ooops, sorry anyway if he was at a sit down in Jersey, Tony Soporano would just shoot him. Also if they are making a list of people to whack, let me just put Sofie right at the top, my disgust knows no bounds...She is just on my last nerve...Like Isa would ever hang with so not in the A club Sofie....

Now for Isa..just last week I told my husband "look they touched up her roots for Christmas"..good grief I saw creeping roots again...

Okay I feel better now..

Thanks , Melinama for the great, quick recap. Hmm, what should we call those old kissing flashbacks???.....kissbacks ??? .....kissreruns??? Evidently, becoming a psychiatrist in Mexico involves a process similar to entering the Miss Universe contest. I'm pretty sure that there must be height and weight restrictions. Dr. Erica is very pretty [leading lady type pretty...watch out Angelica, Lucero, Adela, et.al.], and it seems like I've seen her before , but I can't figure out where. Well, we are still going round and round . Next to Francisco, AAron looks like an upright citizen. After watching Frankie, I feel like I should get in the shower and really scrub....maybe disinfect. Does this guy have a job of any shape or sort? It doesn't seem so as he is always lurking around corridors smiling in his smarmy way and waiting silently to POUNCE on Isa. By the by, I am hoping that Isa got a new pair of CFM thigh-high boots from Santa...I am pretty tired of looking at the old ones. And I think that Sophie should go to the local community college, get some training, and get a job. [Perhaps , the ever-groveling Elvira could point out to Sophie that this is how the rest of us non-Montalvos pay for life's necessities [twinsets, hair products, tequila, CFM boots, etc.]. Jobs also serve to break up the day and keep us from haunting our siblings and their spouses inquiring about the intimate portions of their lives. [My now sister-in-law used to call me on the phone when Hub and I first started dating. That annoyed me, so I can only imagine how I'd feel if she began asking really PERSONAL questions like Sophie does.Ewww.]^^^Susanlynn, wearing CFM flipflops

Great recap without a CC safety net!
=========
Totally! Susanlynn! Kissbacks, yes!!
=========
Ok. So, Rod has been sexually repressed--talk about feeling someone's pain-- for nearly 3 years now. I would say the dam should be about to burst if Gavi ever makes it back to the DF. Caveman style would be my guess right now, unless the scriptwriters are all metrosexuals and/or Sofia types.

P.S. It figures, doesn't it, that our sneaky Sofia would be attracted to Isa's smarmy "servicing" neighbor guy?

the shrink, bennie's friend is patricia manterola. she's the one in the pic fern used to look at to get hot for lety i think and she starred in one episode maybe?

she was also the leading lady in a juan soler as galan novela apuesta por un amor.

I was surprised TWB didn't boink Frankie. Was it guilt, or she just wanted to get that Christmas tree down and get those roots touched up? She's one HIGH maintenance gal.

Also, Sophie has the nerve to tell Rod it's his job to "take care of her" and make sure she has "enough" money to make her happy! Maybe she could put that sniffing power she has to get a job and she wouldn't have to go to vo-tech...
jb

Rod needs to drag Gavi off with him, literally. They need to get away from everything there and enjoy themselves while they discover the shenanigans Oñate and Aaron have been involved in at all those port cities(?) those shipments have been leaving from.

Anonymous 8:29, I'm pretty sure Isa and Frankie did boink Christmas night - there just wasn't time the next morning before the doorbell rang...

Thanx for the great recap. I wonder if the "CC" function has to do with the service provider. I have comcast and I had "CC" last night. Unfortunatly, I deleted last night's episode or I would send you what the office conversation was between Rod and what's his name?

Good recap with funny comments, I enjoyed them a lot. I agree with jardinera 100%. Aside from dragging Gaviota off, Rod needs to make love to her until they're both speechless... when they talk that's when the trouble starts. And we all know that the next "wrecking ball" to their love is literally around the next building. As for frankie, who is comletely "greasy," "grimey," "sleazy," and "slimey," he and Isadora deserve each other.....And will Sofia please get a life, job, car!!!ANYTHING!!!!!!!!

I missed most of this one but I did catch a glimpse of Ms. Manterola and also caught the Oñate/signature scene. I tried to pay attention but I don't know enough import/export shipping/etc. language to really understand what's going on. Apparently the candyman's explanation satisfied Rodrigo, but I assume that he was either lying, or being intentionally vague and Rod didn't have the business chops to read between the lines.

I don't see how Aaron can possibly follow through on his plans to divorce Minerva, given how much she knows. Maybe he's going to have her whacked.

Nooooooooooooo
Minnnnnerrrvvvaaa can't be whacked until she is told point blank about the Aaron/Isa boinking and they must both be in the room when she is told...OMG the deer in the headlight looks, before the guilty couple starts diving behind the furniture, cause she will go all BSC "T-1000 cyborg" on their asses..I can see Minnie as the new Terminator..

Susanlynn....bwaaaawwwhaaaa...twinsets...& indeed how the rest of us pay for expensive fashion magazine reprints circa 1962-1964 "the golden years" with the issues regarding twinsets; the pages discreetlyturned at the corners for quick reference....

Ayy i really think Frankie is good for Isadora because it gives her something to do and keeps her mind off Rodrigo for at least a bit. Sophia really got told by her sis that she needs to get a life and stop actin like a chismosa viejita (gossiping granny). I really like the sis with the Black boyfriend, she is so compfortable with herself and the way she shows the family that she just doesn't care what they think makes me soo happy! That granny needs to wake up, shes so clueless and prejudice/racist. her and sophia get on my nerves. I can't wait until next episode to see what happens with Gaviota y Rodrigo, hopefully something HOT...;-)

hMinerva will magically disappear. She's the proverbial albatross around Aaron's neck. She's gotta be whacked,or thrown over a cliff,or found stuffed in a trunk..Tony Soprano will be happy to do the job...Please, writers don't get rid of her until we see her face when she finds out that Isadora bedded down with her beloved Aaron..

Frankie doesn't seem to be playing with a full deck like Isadora.I just feel foul play is just around the corner for some..

If Rod has cut the ties with Isadora, why not take of that wedding ring? Is he taking stupid pills or what? Like others here,Sofia get a damn job..

I don't think Minerva will get whacked till the bitter end, she is just too wonderful to have around!! What a class act. Heh.

I'm starting to wonder if there is a new no-murder tendency in novelas. Nobody has died yet! At this point in Barrera there were already about 6 corpses.

I don't know if it's a new tendency in novelas, or if it's specifically a Fernado Gaitan thing, but I like it. Good characters are usually more fun when they're alive, so I'm glad there hasn't been too much of a bloodbath yet.

OTOH, I miss Artemio, and while he wasn't directly murdered, you can blame Aaron for what happened to him. So Aaron still gets to be a killer - the kind who doesn't ever have to go to court. That's a nice evil twist.

I think I just figured out something that was bugging me at the back of my mind. I think Sofie ought to spend a weekend with Elvira. Maybe a few days in that woman's world will scare Sofie into getting a life.

Sofia is getting on my nerves, too! Maybe when her luck runs out, she could get a job cleaning houses. Her ears perked up when she heard Francisco mention the limo coming to pick him up in his fake phone conversation at Isa's... And he was lurking in the hallway long enough afterward to hear that she is Rod's sister. Frankie is going to follow the money!

Thanks for the very interesting recap. I love your description of Sophia's nagging as chinese water torture. Good call. However, as for her trying to protect the family fortune, in a way I don't blame her. (Well, I concede that there might be better ways to go about it). Rod is so in love until that's the last thing on his mind. It's kinda like "easy come, easy go". I agree that Sophie needs a job though. It would drive me bananas to have just one consuming thought that I had to persue 24-7. In the coming attractions, I was happy to see Gavi show up in Rod's office. I thought for sure we were going to be taken on another year long cat and mouse game .."now you see me, now you don't" type thing between the love birds.

Wondering just what the doctor told Gavi to make her want to return and fight for her man...
jb

I wonder how good Isa's protection is when she is having sex--- I mean Hilario, Aaron, Mr. Sleezo-- everything seems so spontaneous that I'm not sure anyone thinks or cares about protection.
Well, at least for now, we don't have to worry about her passing anything on to Rod! Even if I thought Mr. Sleezo was really handsome, i would still be totally turned off by a man so sexually agressive and desperate. Go get a job, Mr. wet lips!

Mr Sleezy is gross. Those face eating kisses are supposed to be sexy? Yuck! I'm with Carole, how can someone who is trying so desperately to get pregnant, have spontaneous sex with so many and not get pregnant. She just has to get pg with someone other than Rod so he can get rid of her without loosing half his money.

But the most aggravating, dumbest, most idiotic, babiest, most stupid character on the series is Clara. And she's supposed to be the lover of the grandfather and, I guess is in the will when they reveal it in a year (in their time).

Another impression, I laughed out loud when a few months had passed and there was James in that "manly" mustache.

Thank you, each and every, recapper. The descriptions are very funny and I look forward to the recaps every day. Wish we could replace Thursday's recapper. Kudos for the recaps

Melanie

Ah, we HAVE a Thursday recapper, Susannah (I was confused) and we now have a two-person team newly volunteered to do Tuesdays, so we're set! And - the doctor hasn't SAID the thing yet, whatever it is, that will make e Gav go back - or maybe it will be like Omar and Fern - after Gav talks enough she will have convinced herself to go back without any response from Dr Erica at all...

What are Dr. Erica's credentials? Maybe she can also work with Clarita.

Alas, I don't think psychologists can do brain surgery.

Thanks, Susana, for the welcome the other day. In answer to your question, our show has 10 writers, and, yes, it's a amazingly fun job. I've been at it long it enoug to be able to predict what will happen on the telenovela's, but they still throw me a few curveballs. Thanks again, y'all, for keeping me current with your thorough and thoroughly delightful recaps!

What's going to happen to Ms. Pamela waiting in the wings for Aaron,if Minnie is not bumped off until the end? She can just stand by the pool in that bathing suit so long..

Sophie used to be Jaimie Camil's girlfriend in Mujer de Madera. She was the second actress to play the role. The first actress was replaced after her face was burned to a crisp in a fire as part of the story on the show.

Speaking of a deer looking into headlights, gavi always has that expression.

Julie, that part of last night's episode is on Youtube, check out Patty Manterola/Destilando Amor. There are 3 or 4 5-7 minute blocks

As usual, great recap. I enjoy the remarks and comments almost as much. Here are some of my favorites. The face eating kisses are gross. Sophie picks up some hormonal scent and like an animal she is forced to follow it. kiss backs, kiss reruns.Clara is most annoying. Last but not least, get rid of that Italian guy. Hey, you guys are so bad. But of course I mean the good kinda bad. I have to include myself in that though because I thought that was so funny when Aaron pinched Minnie's lips. As much as I like the guy, he would have been scraping his butt off of the wall if I were Minnie. Oh, and although Isa should insist that Sophie call first, unless Sophie has a key, Isa should not answer the door. That's what peep holes are for.

I need tonoght's recap I missed the whole episode Hu! Hu! Hu!
please someone publish a recap for tonight episide please I BEG OF YOU ANY ONE AND i WILL LOVE YOU FOREVER! RECAP FOR 6-8-07
THANK!
SP

Wonderful recap Melinama! I watched this episode and I don't think you missed a thing by not having the CC. Way to go. I love the Chinese water torture reference. I think I will remember that term always.

Regarding smarmy neighbor Francisco...the actor is doing a great job, very convincing, but I can't imagine the actress who plays Isa likes his licky kisses. They are the worst. I never did like a guy who came at me with a wide open mouth.

P.S. A belated THANK YOU to Jardinera for doing Tuesday's "bare bones" recap. It was marvelously thorough.

Here is Thursday's recap... I'll try to get it on the main page next. Sorry for the delay! :)

Destilando Amor 6/7/07 What happens in Manzanillo, stays in Manzanillo

Aaron tells Patricio they will move the clandestine tequila onto boats when Rod is there, so it won’t be discovered. Patricio is concerned that they are risking the company’s good name. But Aaron reminds Pat that it’s only Rod, Mariana, and Patricio’s fiancée Lluvia who are signing the documents. Neither he nor Patricio would be implicated if anything came to light. Patricio says what happens to Lluvia happens to me.

Just then, Lluvia enters Pat’s office with some documents. Aaron greets her and her legs, giving the happy couple his best for the New Year and their prospects for marriage. He goes to shake Pat’s hand. Pat tells him to get lost.

Lluvia whines that it was a mistake to have “had relations” with Aaron when she worked for him. And it would be an even bigger mistake to marry Patricio now, given her past with Aaron and how the family feels about that. Pat tells her he doesn’t care, as long as he has her.

Gavi and Dr. Erika are in the garden in Cuernavaca with drinks. Is it really possible that what Rod says is true: that Gavi is the only woman in his life, despite his sudden marriage to Isa?

In DF, Ricardo tells Isa the case for her divorce from Rod would be weak, since they married so quickly. Isa doesn’t want to walk away empty-handed. Ricardo tells her to stick it out, try to have a kid with Rod. She can always divorce him later. But right now, she has to stay married or their family could lose everything.

Dr. Erika gets the scoop on Rod’s growing up years from Gavi. Rod is the oldest brother in a well-off, good family. He didn’t see his parents a lot as a kid, but did spend time with his cousin Aaron while they were away at school. Rod and Aaron are very different in character…. Gavi doesn’t want to say directly that Aaron is a womanizer, out of loyalty to her former boss. Dr. E wants to know if Aaron tried to hit on Gavi.

At his apartment in DF, Aaron spins around in his chair as he talks to Pamela on the phone from Miami. He counts the days until he will see her again, he needs her.… Minnie steps into the room. He needs…. tequila! Aaron starts talking shop and hangs up. Minnie wants him to turn off his cell phone for the afternoon, so they can focus on producing a little Montalvo.

Back in the garden, Dr. Erika tells Gavi that a sensitive child may react negatively to surrounding influences and enter adolescence with insecurities. For example, children of alcoholics can have an aversion to everything associated with drinking. It’s possible that Rod reacted Aaron’s behavior with women by refusing to treat them as sex objects. Gavi perks up. Rod’s problem has nothing to do with sex, it relates to love. Rod loves one woman: Gavi. He feels imprisoned without her by his side.

Just then, Rod is pining in his office for Gavi, he needs her by his side!

Gavi wants to know why Rod would stay with Isa. Dr. Erika suggests that there could be economic factors. But regardless, Gavi is the woman for Rod. Dr. E starts in about how wonderful it can be to be with the one person you love. Gavi’s eyes fill with hope.

Still at work, Rod hears a knock on the door in his office. It’s Sophia, again. Isa was acting so strangely when Sophie said goodbye to her just now. If Rod doesn’t return to the apartment this very evening, Isa might kill herself!

Benvenutto has taught Clarita how to make Italian hand gestures. They want to know how the talk with the doc went. Gavi asks them if they can all go back to DF early tomorrow. Rod needs her! Clarita is thrilled. Ben is a little disappointed.

Rod is at the bar again. First he hears Gavi’s words that she would never forgive herself, or him, if she broke up his marriage. Then she hears Sophie’s voice, Isa could take her life if Rod doesn’t return to her this very evening!

Back in Cuernavaca, Gavi is pining for Rod at her balcony, as she looks out into the night and has flashbacks of Rod.

In DF, Rod enters his apartment with a somber face. Isa is thrilled to see him! He’s not really sure what’s going to happen in the future, but he’s going on a business trip for a couple of days to several ports. She’s going to Acapulco to stay with friends. But she’ll be back in time for New Year’s Eve. He says, back in time for what? To spend it with you, she says. Rod reluctantly agrees and they hug.

Aaron is in his apartment, screaming on the phone to Onate about the tequila shipments. If Rod finds out, they will be ruined! He barks at Onate to keep him informed and hangs up. Enter Minnie. Good news, she says. Rod and Isa are back together. Aaron tells Minnie the best news would be if she stopped talking to Isa so much!

It’s morning again at Montalvo Corporation, Rod is preparing for his trip. There’s still no word from Mariana. Elvira arranges his ride.

There is a knock on the door. It’s Gavi, she tells him in a soft, relaxed voice that she has come back for him. They kiss and he steps back to look at her. He presses his hand from his lips to his cheeks, to get more of her kisses on his face.

Where have you been? She tells him about the vacation and asks if he missed her. He was afraid that she had left again, after everything that happened Christmas Eve. They are about to kiss again, but Elvira knocks on the door. The ride to the airport is ready. Elvira leaves. Rod tells Gavi he’s going on a trip and so is she.

Outside Rod’s office, Aaron calls Elvira to give her his greetings. Elvira mentions that Mariana has returned to the office, unfortunately.

Rod tells Gavi the news. It appears that Aaron is using the two of them to cover for shady tequila shipments. Rod wants to check at the ports. He’s going to Veracruz, and he wants Gavi to go to Manzanillo. It’s top secret! Before he leaves, he runs back to kiss her several times.

Isa leaves her apartment, eyeing the door to Francisco’s apartment. She remembers his sloppy kisses. Just then, his door opens. He tells her she can’t possibly go to Acapulco alone, he needs to join her. They embrace, but her cell phone interrupts. Minnie is in the neighborhood and can give Isa a ride to the airport.

Isa gives Francisco the address of the hotel where she will be staying. Frankie swivels around in smug anticipation as Isa steps into the elevator.

Outside, Minnie mentions that Mariana has returned to the office. Isa tells her Rod will be gone anyway. Minnie starts in on Rod and Mariana, but Isa confronts her. The family now believes Mariana is innocent, because she wasn’t with Rod over the holidays. Even if Isa caught Rod and Mariana making love, the family wouldn’t believe her! Minerva says, that’s why you need to keep your eyes open, for specific proof!

Rod is at the docks in Veracruz, in a hard hat and an expensive suit. He checks the clipboard as the workers look on nervously.

Gavi calls her mom from the airport. Her cell has been giving her trouble, so she may have it off. There aren’t any return flights from Manzanillo until tomorrow.

In Manzanillo, Gavi has white hard had to match her skirt and heels. She walks with the shipping manager toward the docks. Onate spies her from across the yard and sends the minions off to make sure all the illegal tequila is hidden completely. Mariana Franco must not know he is there! Onate calls Aaron to tell him Mariana has arrived.

Back in the sticks, James tells Padre Come that he is desperate. He doesn’t know what’s going on with Acacia and fears that Meliton will take advantage of her amnesia and abuse her again. Cosme agrees to check on the situation, but not mention James.

At Arroyo Seco, Acacia is smiling and feeding the chickens. Meliton is sitting with his only friend, the bottle. He flashes back to Rod’s threats to him at the hospital. If anything happens to Acacia, you will pay! Meliton leers at Acacia and wipes his face. No one is going to take her away from him!

Rod calls Clarita, and she confirms Gavi’s cell phone is off. When she tells him Gavi has to stay in Manzanillo for the night, Rod hangs up.

At a hotel in Manzanillo, Gavi asks if they have a reservation for Engineer Rodrigo Montalvo. Yes, they do for another day. Is there another room available? She needs a place to stay tonight! She gets a room and asks where she can buy clothes.

Back in DF, Minnie tells Aaron about Isa’s trip. Aaron wonders, is Isa…alone? Minnie sputters, Of course, she’s alone! Onate calls to report that Mariana didn’t find anything suspicious at the ports. Minnie badgers Aaron to ask Onate if Mariana and Rod are together. Aaron screams at her to shut up, the shipments are more important!

Minnie tells him to shut up. She’s going to get proof of Rod and Mariana’s infidelity, with or without Aaron’s help!

In Acapulco, Isa is baking by the pool. The slimy Francisco arrives. They embrace.

In Manzanillo, Gavi is walking on the beach. The only thing missing from this beautiful scene is Rod. She hears her name and turns to find Rod running towards her. They kiss and he lifts her up and spins her around.

Advances (for Monday)
• Sophie cries bitter tears as Danni leaves
• Aaron tells Patricio to be man
• Rod and Gavi spend an evening at the beach
• Minerva plays detective
